As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
Alhamdulillah rabbil alameen, salallahu alayhi wa sallam wa
barakatuhu anabiyyan wa muhammad wa ala alihi wa
sahbihi wa sallam wa tasliman kathira thumma ma
ba'd.
Ma minnahu wa rahimahu Allah wa ta'ala.
Continuing in the chapter of Taqwa, Piety and
Righteousness.
Hadith number 70.
In this hadith the messenger of Allah is
saying, the life of the world is sweet
and green.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala appointed you as
khulafa, which means like a representative on earth.
So that he may try you in respect
of your actions.
So beware of the fitna, which means here
the attractions of this dunya and the attractions
towards women.
The first trial of Bani Israel was through
women.
What does that mean?
Let's begin with this hadith from the very
beginning.
Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam says, This dunya,
which means sweet in terms of its taste.
Like if someone experienced that dunya, it's so
hard to forget that taste.
If someone tasted the sweetness of money, the
sweetness of luxury, the sweetness of pleasure, the
sweetness of intimacy, all these things that are
considered sweet, it's hard to forget that.
So in terms of experiencing it, it's hulwa.
Khadira, green and lush.
What does that mean?
To the eye is also very appealing.
Sometimes you see many, many beautiful things out
there and they're all very appealing.
But you can't taste them.
You have no ability to fulfill that desire
at all.
But still the attraction is there through the
eye and of course through the experience.
But not everybody who watches can experience that.
Still though, the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam
said, That's the dunya.
The dunya is very sweet, very lush, which
means it can be very deceiving and very
dangerous.
Then he says, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
is going to leave you on earth as
representatives.
Meaning to do what?
To generation after generation, to take care of
this creation of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
To live here, procreate, and take care of
this creation of Allah azza wa jal.
And He will look into your actions.
Like He wants to see how you're going
to do that.
How are you going to be fulfilling Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala's commandment and being the
representatives on earth?
Therefore, beware of the trials of this dunya,
which means the temptations of this dunya.
Beware of that.
And out of all the temptations of the
dunya, he said the inclination towards women.
What does that mean?
It also means the temptation and also the
inclination of women towards men.
But he specifically mentions the subject of the
temptation of women here because the fitna of
Bani Israel began there.
Yes.
Now, is that something, exaggeration?
Is that real?
Look, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, He knows
best.
He created us and He knows best subhanahu
wa ta'ala how we operate as human
beings.
Naturally, the inclination of men towards women and
women towards men, it's a ni'mah, it's a
blessing in itself.
Otherwise, without that inclination, there would be no
people motivated to get married, have children, procreate,
and produce, mashallah, magnificent scholars and ulama and
heroes, and you name it.
It would never happen.
So that inclination itself is a blessing, is
ni'mah.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala mentioned in the
Qur'an, It was made beautiful for them.
It was made beautiful to them the love
of shahawat, of desires of women and children
and having this and that and so on.
All these things.
So it was made beautiful for us.
For what reason?
To fulfill that commandment.
So in itself, that inclination, it's not haram.
It's a blessing from Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala.
Now, what is required from us is to
make sure we safeguard that desire, we safeguard,
obviously, that ni'mah, and making sure to fulfill
it in the right way.
Otherwise, if we don't, that inclination can go
out of control.
And if it goes out of control, we
know what happens.
And throughout the history of mankind, we've seen
how men, women, unfortunately, when there is no
bearer of hayaa, when there is no bearer
of taqwa Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, how
would they behave?
When the boundaries are all gone.
And Allah azza wa jalla is warning us,
as he mentions in surah al-A'raf,
about the very first fitnah that happened to
Adam and at that time, his Hawwa as
well.
When he says subhanahu wa ta'ala about
the shaitan, what did he do?
He
said,
So it's one of the biggest temptations.
There is no doubt about it.
And we see that so many, every now
and then, when you talk about politics, talk
about even, unfortunately, in clergy life and so
on, there is always scandals.
And these scandals involve what?
The illicit relationship between men and women, the
inclination to women in this scenario over here.
So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said,
Look, beware of the dunya, beware of the
dunya, because there's going to be fitnah for
you.
And of all the fitnah, beware, of course,
from that inclination, the temptation that could happen
between men and women.
That's the most dangerous thing that will take
people away from the deen of Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
We have seen a lot of people, unfortunately,
because of the fitnah of looking at the
women or looking at the opposite gender, watching
even *, they lose their iman.
They lose their deen.
So they start with maybe just one look,
second look, and then eventually they get addicted
to it, and fix their deen and their
iman.
It's extremely dangerous.
And that's why the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam says, Beware of these two fitnahs, the
dunya and the nisan.
He says, Because the fitnah of Bani Israel,
it all started from there.
May Allah protect us, O Rabbul Alameen, and
our household, our families, O Allah, from all
this fitnah.
Any questions, jama'at?
Assalamu alaikum.
The masjid will be closing in five minutes,
inshallah.
