Today's du'a number 16 is from Surah Tushuara,
and that is the story of Lut.
Nabiullah Hilut, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala mentioned the
story beginning from aya number 160.
And our du'a will be coming at ayah
number 169.
The people of law rejected the messengers.
She made very clear that they rejected the
messengers.
When their brother-in-law said to them, will you
not fear Allah?
I'm
truly trustworthy messager to you.
Fear Allah and obey me.
I don't ask you for any reward for
this message.
My reward is only from the Lord of
the world. Like, I'm not asking you for
any of this. I'm just doing this for
you.
Now he brings their major sin and major
actually crime.
He says,
why do you why do you men lust
lust after fellow men?
Leaving the wives that Allah that your Lord
has created for you.
In fact, you are transgressing people which is
the culture of our time, unfortunately.
They threatened,
if you do not desist or loot, you
will surely be expelled. We can expel you
out of this town.
Lut responded,
I am truly one of those who despise
your shameful practice.
And then he made a dua, which we
read in these days.
My Lord, save me and my family from
the consequences of what they do.
Now, this could be exclusive for
this because you have it in mind,
the Dua of Lut alaihis salaam.
But it could be for anybody else or
anything anyone else by saying,
Who are they? Whatever transmission that you want,
you want to keep in your mind. But
in the ayah, Allah exclusively about this particular
practice,
he said
about Oh my Lord, save me and my
family from the concept of what they do.
And Allah responded immediately,
He said, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
so we saved him and all of his
family.
All of them.
Is it all of them?
Except who?
His wife.
Except an old woman who was one of
those one of the doomed.
So how come Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, said
earlier,
that we have saved him and all his
family?
But if his wife was not saved, how
does it what does it mean then And
saved him and all his family. What does
that mean?
That reminds me of the story of Nuh
When when he made dua to Allah, my
Lord, you promised that you're gonna save my
family.
My son is of his family to me.
And the Lord responded to Nuqal Innaqul Innaqul
alayhis salih.
He is not your he is not from
your family anymore.
He did not he did not respond to
you. His deeds
are his. So here, the same thing. Because
she did not do well, she did not
respond, she did not follow the example of
Lut
Allah excluded her from being from his family.
So when he said Ajma'in,
he included those who deserve to be from
the family of Lut
So as we can see here, Allah
in this dua, Lut alayhi sallam did everything
in his power.
He talked to his people. He advised them.
He made dua for them. He went and
he argued with them, and he debated with
them, and even he offered them his daughters.
He says,
Marry my daughters.
They're more purified too.
He goes, no. No. No. And they rejected,
and they still transgressed in their behavior
and their practice. That was like a cultural
practice and that was the dominant cultural practice
in that society
that led them to be doomed.
Unfortunately, in our time,
this history is repeating itself. Some people, they're
pushing this to become an agenda,
to become a cultural standard that you just
cannot you cannot reject or even criticize anymore.
But here in the Quran, Allah very clear.
That's transgression.
So when Lut did everything in his power
and he realized this is it, they're gonna
be doomed, what did he say? He said,
My Lord,
And like I said, if you would like
to make the dua general, you would say,
You Allah, save me and my family from
the consequences of what the transgressors
are doing. So that's a dua we do
in many ways, whether it's someone
close to you, something that's common in the
society.
Ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala for safety for
yourself
and for your families. Those who deserve to
be from your families of the believers. Out
of what they, their transvestists are doing. InshaAllah,
we're gonna make this du'a together, InshaAllah.
I'm
I'm gonna change the last word.
Those Those who would like to be with
us, inshaAllah, we're gonna be reading from the
beginning, from Surat,
16.
That's gonna be the end of Surat, almost
the end of Surat, Al Qaeda.
