with a praise of ALLAH SubhanA wa Tada. We send our prayers a peace upon our nivia Muhammad
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, we testify that none is worthy of worship of Allah, and that the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:04:19 --> 00:04:39
			is is worshipping slave and final messenger. I continue to remind myself in you of Taqwa law, the
consciousness and awareness of Allah Subhana Allah to add up in the capacity that he is deserving of
us to the best of our practice, seeking to increase our love,

00:04:41 --> 00:04:58
			our fear and our hope in His mercy SubhanaHu wa Tada. And in the few minutes that we spend today I
wanted to speak a little bit about the word of law and the concept of consciousness and awareness of
Allah

00:05:00 --> 00:05:48
			The main and most important duty of HOOKLIFT Jumada sermon standing on this pulpit every Friday is
to command and remind people of Taqwa Allah azza wa jal. And the Arabic that I recited in the
beginning is referred to as hookbaits in hajj, there was never a wedding that the Prophet did the
need. For there was never a need hoped about that the prophet spoke Act. There was never an
admonition or a lecture that the Prophet gave. And there was never hope within Joomla that was
spoken of by the prophets. I seldom that did not begin with those very words, and then come denilla
till the end of reciting both three sections of the Quran that all begin with, yeah, you're loving

00:05:48 --> 00:06:12
			and supple law. Yeah, you have NASA law. Yeah, you have levena and a couple law, oh my mankind, Old
Believers are those who claim faith. Be mindful, be conscious, be loving, be fearing, be hoping in
the Mercy of your Lord Allah, the Almighty, the Lord of all existence, the creator of one and all.

00:06:14 --> 00:07:06
			You and I as human beings as a part of our cosmological, understanding our philosophical
understanding as Muslims, is that we're made of three important components. The first is that we are
a physical body, you are not at all a physicality, and the difference between my body and the world
that I'm standing on the living environment that surrounds us, the birds and the bees and the swine
that walk upon the earth and the fish that swim in the ocean, that physical elements are all of a
specific origin in the creation of Allah subhanho wa taala, between myself and other primates, other
animals, other species that roamed the earth, there is a very small genetic difference between us

00:07:07 --> 00:07:11
			and other things. Just a month ago, there was a new

00:07:12 --> 00:08:03
			research and new scientific processes and medical discoveries where they were taking some of the
stem cells from pigs from swine and trying to culture them to make benefit of them in therapies that
relate to human beings. In fact, the first open heart surgeries where they came to repair human
beings hearts that had a leaky valve where the blood would flow back into the heart chamber after
pumping it, that the first way they thought of fixing it before the mechanical systems came and the
engineering reached a place that made that obsolete, whether they would take a valve from the heart
of a pig of a swine. It's similar in shape, similar in size of clothes, close genetic similarity,

00:08:04 --> 00:08:17
			and they would suture it and put it into the heart of an ill person. And with a concoction of drugs,
they would be able to keep them alive. In fact, for decades, living gainful life.

00:08:19 --> 00:08:42
			Allah subhanho wa Taala tells us that the organisms and the things that live upon this earth with us
on them on EMTALA comm. They are nations like you with language and cognition and understanding and
behavioral patterns and sociological organizational structures that are meant for their particular
species and behaviors.

00:08:44 --> 00:09:31
			And therefore, as Muslims, we look to the Animate world around us and the inanimate world as being
something that we are protectors and users of imagine the words of the Prophet Muhammad that I send
them where he says, the mountain of you hate buena, it loves the believers when your hippo and the
believers love it. How can a mountain granite and raw have the capacity to love what we come to
understand that everything in the world around us that which we understand and that which we don't
have the level of consciousness that is appropriate to it, and these are now discoveries we're
catching up to as human beings.

00:09:32 --> 00:09:59
			You and I are a physical being. But we have a second layer, which is we are mindful creations. We
have been given a rationale and the discernment in our body we call it up the first part you are
better than a physicality, second part your appeal your thinking creation, and do not think that the
ability to think and to feel and to be a motive is limited just to you and I

00:10:00 --> 00:10:20
			Human beings is a special capacity. In fact, when you look out into the animal world, other things
feel and have emotion and have connection and are able to communicate and have a sense of
understanding that is within the limitations of what is bestowed upon them.

00:10:23 --> 00:10:26
			They did clinical studies on capuchin monkeys.

00:10:27 --> 00:11:15
			When you go home, you can YouTube it, where they put two monkeys next to each other in cages, they
talk the monkeys a very simple task. If I asked you to give me the pebble, they put a pebble, the
monkey takes it from the trop takes it to another section, and Ken gives it to the handler, they
receive a piece of cucumber. But monkeys love grapes. So when you cause inequity between the two,
they wanted to see can monkeys understand injustice. So the first monkey gives the raw they give him
a cucumber, which for many days, no problem with it. The second monkey in front of the first did the
same task was rewarded with a delicious grape. When they returned to the first monkey, and gave them

00:11:15 --> 00:12:03
			the reward as a cucumber. He looked at it and threw it back. Because that's not acceptable, that's
injustice, and I will not accept it. They have a level of discernment and understanding and emotion
and feeling. But you and I is the creation of a law we're given a third level, a third component,
which is where Allah says what are called Kolomna Vinyard, and I've elevated mankind above others,
above others of my creation. And that third element is that we've been given a soul. The soul was
meant to be what controls when the soul is righteous and pure. It is what is meant to control the
mind, which is then in turn meant to control the body.

00:12:04 --> 00:12:52
			I always say to my students, when I'm teaching them after you got here at our school, I say to them,
you and I as Muslims, the reason we eat a lamb chop and not a pork chop is not because the pork chop
is disease is not because swine is an an animal that is going to, you know, you eat it and you die.
The reason we don't is for one simple reason is that we made the decision not with our mind, and not
with the needs of our body. But we made the decision with the purity of intention of our soul. Our
soul was commanded by Allah to be tested with certain limits. And Allah could have said don't eat
lamb but eats wine, you would have all of us eating this wine and not the lamb. It's not about

00:12:52 --> 00:13:42
			whether that piece of meat is immoral in its physical sense. Whether it makes logical sense. It's
about the soul, Allah commanded you to obey Him, even in the things that are not clear to you why
now perhaps there are certain bacteria there are certain viruses, perhaps there are all these other
reasons. Whether there are there aren't makes no difference to you and I as a Muslim, the command
was simple to Adam, don't eat from that tree. Don't even go near it. That tree looked like all the
other trees had fruit that was similar to all the other fruits in the Garden of Eden. But the
command wasn't about whether it made sense to you Adam or not, but was whether your soul would obey

00:13:42 --> 00:13:49
			the command of Allah. That is the beginning of the understanding of taqwa,

00:13:50 --> 00:13:51
			piety,

00:13:52 --> 00:13:58
			the prophets I send them says how Hoonah and points to his chest, it's in the heart.

00:14:00 --> 00:14:28
			It's where you do what you're required in following the command of God Reezy receiving the light.
That was a revelation given to us as human beings. As Muslims, we think about our world in two
sources of knowledge. There is the scientific sensory knowledge, the things that we can observe and
recreate and sight and sound and smell and taste and touch.

00:14:29 --> 00:14:59
			But we have a second important level of knowledge, which is revealed scriptural knowledge, that
which was sent down in the Bible, sent down in the Torah sent down in the psalms of the wood, sent
down in the books that were before them, and sent finally and completely in the completed
unadulterated unchanged incorruptible message of the Quran and the tradition of the Prophet
hematite.

00:15:00 --> 00:15:46
			And therefore what stops you annoying from behavior is not necessarily whether we understand it's
wrong for us or not. It's not whether it feels right or wrong. It's not whether it's something our
body responds to or doesn't. It's not whether our mind can calculate its effect. What made the devil
fall away from the path of truth was that he used his ration now rather than follow the heart of
obeying Allah. When Allah says to him, bow down to Adam, his mind, said an AHA yo min, but I'm
better

00:15:48 --> 00:15:51
			and that is where Taqwa fails.

00:15:52 --> 00:15:58
			taqwa, the fear of God, piety is a Hickman

00:15:59 --> 00:16:18
			Allah Subhana Allah to Allah He refers to hikma as a loose translation is complete wisdom to
understand what's right, because it's right. And to be able to stay away from what's wrong. Even
when you don't understand it's wrong to do what's right. Even though you may not understand why it's
right.

00:16:19 --> 00:16:30
			hikma is God guided piety of heart, the roadmap they describe Kupwara by saying at Taqwa here and
Tamela before it.

00:16:31 --> 00:16:54
			I don't know remin Allah told us however ma taco means the first part of it is that you obey God in
all of his instructions. Because you see the revelation, the light that was given you that guide you
and what to do to obey Allah, because you hope for a reward in doing so.

00:16:55 --> 00:17:23
			It is also where he and Turturro cannot see Allah, it is that you leave off this obedience to the
command of God. I don't know what I mean Allah because you follow the revelation of God, Top Shot of
Allah fearing that there was punishment for disobeying the command. Everybody above the Allah who
and who asks the prophets I sell the mafia Taqwa.

00:17:26 --> 00:17:28
			The prophets Allah Allah Azza wa sallam said, Yeah,

00:17:29 --> 00:17:32
			hello mushy Taffy young woman.

00:17:33 --> 00:17:45
			ficaria think that Shokin Did you ever walk in a pathway where there were thorns and harmful things
around you? In the dark?

00:17:46 --> 00:18:20
			Everyone said yes. It's like you and I, we go to the kitchen in the middle of the night. The lights
are off. We come to grab a cup. It falls and shatters. You don't have your slippers. You don't have
anything near you. You're in the middle of the kitchen on your tile floor shards of glass all around
you. There's danger that's around you. Now that's on that. What did you do? The Karnataka tutorial,
I paid attention to what was around me. And where I put my foot. I stepped gently so that I don't
injure myself.

00:18:21 --> 00:18:36
			For the robber who feeds somebody he so I send them the puppet touched his heart struck him in the
heart and said that get Taqwa that is piety. That is the meaning of the Command of Allah. Yeah, uh,
Johan Levine.

00:18:38 --> 00:18:55
			toquilla. Be mindful of God, that you look around the world in a way through the lens of Revelation.
To Be careful not to injure yourself. injure your soul by seeing something you shouldn't

00:18:57 --> 00:19:07
			injure your heart by being in a place and in a company that you shouldn't be. injuring your
relationship by saying a word that you can't take back.

00:19:08 --> 00:19:25
			Having Taqwa is that you are careful with every measured action statement, look Sight Sound so that
you can better yourself as the days go on and limit yourself from regressing

00:19:26 --> 00:19:33
			past your soul calling you to good. after the short break, I will send up with

00:19:34 --> 00:19:49
			three important ways to understand whether tequila is alive in our hearts or whether it requires
improvement and the path towards it. Akuto they had a lot of stuff, a lot of all the money whatever.

00:19:57 --> 00:19:58
			Alhamdulillah

00:20:00 --> 00:20:00
			hamdu lillah

00:20:02 --> 00:20:04
			wa Salatu was Salam ala Nabina

00:20:05 --> 00:20:09
			Muhammad Ali Abdullah Abdullah sada Tasleem.

00:20:12 --> 00:20:15
			Allah subhana wa Tada says

00:20:18 --> 00:20:20
			that top clock

00:20:22 --> 00:20:27
			is something that is found in the hearts for in Naha min topwell Kulu.

00:20:28 --> 00:20:56
			And therefore, the first diagnostic the first litmus test, the first way for you to sense to hold
yourself accountable, am I of the God fearing? Am I of those who is seeking to come closer to Allah?
Am I one who is in Islam submission to the Command of Allah, whether it makes sense and understood
by me or not?

00:20:57 --> 00:21:14
			It is by measuring that motions and actions of your heart when the commands of a law are set upon
you and you find difficulty in fulfilling them. Example is Salatin fragile.

00:21:16 --> 00:22:13
			An example is your attachment to hearing learning, reciting practicing the Quran. Example is what of
the Quran you knew that you forgotten and it's not a bother to you that I knew it and no longer know
it. That the heart is the sense it ties to the straying away even though it might be subtle, from
the Path of Allah subhana wa Tada. The heart was always meant to be the compass of the soul. And
that's why Allah regularly speaks about Allah. In the Quran, Allah, Sunil Anbu Alban min Algerie
taka Lubin. The heart in the Arabic language has different words. It has the word for and Japan. It
has the word sub, and it has the word heart and others. The word heart means the one that shifts and

00:22:13 --> 00:22:29
			pushes from one side to the next. It's upon God one day and changes a minute later, a day later, a
week later. It's helpful in the mercy of God and other times of despair. It flounders and flops from
righteousness to morality.

00:22:31 --> 00:22:49
			And when your heart seeks righteousness know that Taqwa increases, and when the heart is
desensitized at a moment of error, and doesn't feel shame and sadness, know that Taqwa is lacking.
Number two

00:22:51 --> 00:23:43
			is the relationships we hold with others. We all have in all of the languages of the world and here
we are dozens of ethnicities martial law. I'm sure in Chinese I'm sure in Arabic I know when I'll be
up to Euro ash ganja taka. In English, we have the statements birds of a feather flock together. In
every language of the world. That same submit similitude is found that those who are aligned those
who want the same thing, those who have the same aspiration and goals, gather together and form a
group and are upon a place of righteousness together, or May Allah protect us in morality. And one
of the surest ways to know what level of Taqwa exists with you is to look out at your close knit

00:23:43 --> 00:24:34
			companions, friends, associates, those who you share bread with those who you open your home to
regularly. In the words of the prophets, I send them narrated by the man Muslim law yet called for
America in that vein, be mindful that you do not share your food consistently. Except with someone
of piety, it doesn't mean that you come to my home and I say, show me your taco license. How much
stuff do you have today, brother, you can eat? You know, I can't give you a fruit salad know what it
means that the people who enter my home regularly, the people who feel comfortable to be in my home,
to open my fridge to sit at my table, who are familiar with myself and my children on my family,

00:24:34 --> 00:24:59
			they can only be and should only be those of righteousness, who stuck what is similar to what I see
in life. And whenever you have that imbalance, whenever you open your heart to one whose heart is
disease, whenever you establish a relationship upon a foundation that does not see purity, in the
end the results

00:25:00 --> 00:25:06
			is that you lose your top block rather than they gain it in Lima Rahim Allah.

00:25:07 --> 00:25:08
			Third and finally,

00:25:09 --> 00:25:11
			is to know

00:25:12 --> 00:26:06
			that what exists in the heart must manifest itself in the words and the practice that we hold. And
therefore, it is not sufficient for a person to say, you know, Allah knows I'm a good person. And
that same person has no connection to the masjid has irregularity in their prayer. Allah knows I'm a
I'm a gentle soul, I'm a righteous I'm a good person, but they have no spirit, that their soul is no
longer attached to what Allah seeks it to be attached to, that when they hear a verse from the
Quran, when a reminder comes to them from the prophets, I send them rather than softening the heart
in rages them. Allah says what you do today now a hazard to laser to be if sometimes when you say to

00:26:06 --> 00:26:35
			somebody, be mindful of God, where you're heading this way is an error. This isn't right for you, my
son, my daughter, don't look, don't talk, don't see, don't be in these places, when it's something
that's given to them have a righteous message, because it calls them to truth and their heart is
away from it. It may push them to be enraged in pride and Gare arrogance, away from the truth.

00:26:36 --> 00:27:28
			And therefore when we find ourselves troubled by that, which should give us happiness, when we find
ourselves lacking connection, then we know that these are things we need to improve in. The two
quickest ways to raise our Taqwa is to do good deeds, even when we don't mean them, to have Allah
just to do good deeds, to give charity to smile, to pray extra prayers to make will do. To say a
kind word when difficult, the more good deeds you do in Asana to liveness say good deeds, enliven
the heart and allow the heart to remove the rust that is upon it from sinfulness and makes your
heart more capable of healing and curing itself and receiving medicine from high on above

00:27:29 --> 00:28:12
			the plethora of good deeds, just do good. Work on their Malou tell them do good, do good deeds as
much as you can in whatever capacity that you can. And it might be that some people do their good
deeds by praying. And it might be you do your good deeds by calling others and asking them well
about them. Some people might do night prayers, but you're a caring hearted person who visits the
sick, and who calls your end back home. Your brothers and your sisters may be neglectful of the ties
of your womb, but you're a person who does that as an act of worship that opens for you the doors of
Allah's righteousness. The prophets I seldom said not the one nominal now officially, never

00:28:12 --> 00:28:37
			underestimate any good deed that you do. All of it is valuable to Allah in our tradition as Muslims,
a woman was forgiven all of her sins, and man was forgiven all of his errors on account of showing
kindness to a dog that were thirsty by giving them water to what cat that was hungry and being said,

00:28:39 --> 00:29:06
			one of my teachers, they used to gather the table crumbs at the end of breakfast, put it in a napkin
and walk out of the house and sprinkle it in the backyard. So that whatever insects are ends were in
the in the backyard could have some food. I asked him, What are you doing? He said, I saw a number
I'm giving charity to an end what's bothering you, instead of it going in the garbage? I've given it
in charity, seeing about how you can do good. And the second

00:29:08 --> 00:29:59
			is to help others when they are in need. Subhanallah there is no greater prophet that for you and I
in this life than being one who is used by Allah to enter the dua of another. Right now, there's
somebody who's saying, oh, Allah help me. Yeah, well, I need this. I'm in pain in this. I'm not able
to do this. Imagine the virtue. Imagine the blessing that you become the one that Allah uses to
enter that person's do that the $10 you gave in charity that reaches that person to give them a
meal. That phone call you make to help somebody find a job who couldn't find a job or a rental
property, you became the answer to their pain and your I imagine the virtue that you become the tool

00:30:00 --> 00:30:45
			goodness in other people's lives. May Allah make us Mehta tea, Helen, how you the prophets? I seldom
said the people of Jenna are the keys to good in other people's lives. May Allah make you and I have
them Allahumma I mean, I pray that Allah subhanho wa Taala protects our school, our staff and our
teachers, our parents. May Allah subhanho wa Taala plant the seeds of righteousness and Taqwa in our
heart assists us to recover from error and fault and harm. May Allah subhanho wa Taala send this
light into our homes and comfort us in all moments of difficulty and hardship that are present and
into the future. And forgive us our errors of the past. Allah, Islam and Muslimeen acaba de Allah,

00:30:45 --> 00:30:45
			you know, I

00:30:46 --> 00:31:11
			mean, Allah Magna electronica worship Rika was Nevada. How there was Mohamed in Allah Our nada Ekata

00:31:50 --> 00:32:29
			Insha Allah after the Salah before the Sunnah prayers, I will call forward a young man Josiah in sha
Allah to enter into Islam. May Allah subhana wa Taala keep him and all of us firm upon the truth. If
you are able to stay behind for that it will be a short five minutes in sha Allah where we greet him

00:39:02 --> 00:39:07
			So I know it's COVID restrictions, No hugging and kissing and all that kind of stuff. Please have a
seat if you can.

00:39:10 --> 00:39:58
			So just very quickly in sha Allah, I know that you've been mentored a lot about Islam from Hajj,
pristine and the family and many others. And this is more just a formality just to, you know, greet
you and have the community get to be a part of that. And the simple process and I'm sure that
they've explained to is just to make the declaration of faith. The meaning of it, as you would know
is to state that we believe in the one true God is indivisible. There's nothing similar to him,
nothing like him. He was not brought into the world not brought into creation. He is the first and
the last. He is the one who all things are by His Command. All power rests with his authority alone.

00:39:59 --> 00:40:00
			He has no

00:40:00 --> 00:40:51
			Mother, no son, no daughter, no father, no equal, no CO equal. And those are the essential elements
in our faithfulness in how we view God Almighty. We also believe in a lineage of puppet, that there
were 1000s of prophets who were sent to man. Some of them are recorded for us in the Torah, in the
Bible, in the Psalms, and finally in the Quran, we acknowledge all of them equally, and accept their
message as being the same message, one that commands us to worship the one God, here, O Israel, your
Lord is one for us as Muslims in nama Illa, who come wide your Lord is one. That is the basis of our
prayer begins with Allah Allahu Akbar, God is greater than all greater than my problems greater than

00:40:51 --> 00:41:38
			my successes. He is the one who is the source of all the final messenger we believe is Muhammad,
peace and blessings be upon him, who is a great grandson of Abraham. Just like Jesus was a great
grandson of Abraham through the lineage of Isaac and Isma, info Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
were commanded to observe five daily prayers, to observe the Friday congregational prayer, as we've
done now, to be of those who give the poor their do and do share our well when it's in excess, so
that others can have prosperity rather than adversity. We are commanded to pass the month of Ramadan
coming three months, so you got a little bit of time and shall love to train, and to do so as a

00:41:38 --> 00:42:24
			community of of believers. And finally, may you and I be able to travel and perform that pilgrimage.
And so those are the tenants of faith. Our belief in God is that we believe he is the one who is
absolute. We believe that he has serving angels who are commanded to perform tasks. He is the one
who has sent down the scriptures to mankind so that we adjust our life with the light of revelation,
and has given us the examples of human beings as prophets, who can model the behavior of the
Scripture, we believe that there is a day of judgment, where we will be asked about the good deeds
that we perform the sinfulness that we've done, and we believe that there is fate. And there isn't

00:42:24 --> 00:43:09
			just coincidence, but there is design, in the world that we live in, that the knowledge of God goes
beyond the scene and the observable, he has knowledge of all things at all times, past, present, and
into the future. So with that declaration, by saying a shadow Allah insha Allah and I'll say it part
by part with you. It's just simply say that you believe that there is none that is worthy of worship
but God, and you'll be equally believe that Muhammad is one of the messengers, the final messenger
of God, peace and blessings be upon him and all of the messengers who preceded him. So I'll say and
I'll get you maybe for the ladies in the back as well.

00:43:10 --> 00:43:11
			I do.

00:43:12 --> 00:43:14
			Allah, Allah Ilaha

00:43:16 --> 00:43:19
			illa Allah, Allah wa ash had

00:43:21 --> 00:43:22
			and now

00:43:23 --> 00:43:29
			Mohammad Rasool Allah, Allahu

00:43:30 --> 00:43:31
			Allahu

00:43:32 --> 00:44:14
			Allahu Akbar, which is our way of saying, God is great, you know, you are now one of our brothers,
not just in humanity, but also in faith. You have rights upon us to assist you and to support you
and to be for you when others are not. And we pray that your relationship with had you sane and the

regularly. I have a small gift for myself. This is one of my books. It's a summary of the Quran that
