surgery, I greet everyone with the
most beautiful greeting, the greeting of Islam, as well as the
greeting of Jannah. Asmaahi, taala wa praises
are due to Allah subhanahu wa,
descending upon us from the Sama. Allah afford us to be present in
the house of Allah. Subhanahu wa taala, may Allah grant us to
receive this rahana, Amin, may it be a means of goodness for us and
not a means of badness for us. Allah, Subhanahu wa messenger
says, When it rains, say, Allah, Allah grant us beneficial rain,
Inshallah, to Allah that will let our plants grow beautifully in
order to sustain us as a community beautifully as well. Amin ya rabal
Alamin and to make us a means to sustain others as well. Amen, ya
rabal Alamin today, masha Allah, many people celebrate
reconciliation day. What is reconciliation regarded as? In
South Africa? It is a day of reconciliation, right, whereby we
fostering reconciliation and national unity throughout the
country.
So this is beautiful Masha Allah. But this, it is not something
strange to Islam.
This is not something strange to Islam. We have Rasulullah wa ala
wa sallam came with the perfect Deen. He came to teach us how we
should live with each other,
how they should be harmony among us,
unfortunately, what happened today.
This is not the way of Allah, and
I must remind ourselves, all religions comes from Allah. All
religion stems from God itself.
Allah is the Creator of all.
Legions
Judaism, whether we like it or not, it was always there. The
people of the yahud was always there. Then Asara came, they were
there,
right? All we have pagans, those who worship idols, they were
always there. But the true deen of Allah, Subhanahu wa Taala was
established by sending messengers
to teach us what is the correct way to follow.
And if you look at look at all the messengers as they came, there was
only one calling.
No matter what religion you following, there's only one
calling, and that is what to worship the Almighty God. And that
is the purpose of life. That is the God that created you and I. Is
our Creator, is our cherisher, is our nourishes, our Sustainer, our
provider. That is Allah,
The God, the God and the Lord of the Worlds.
And today to speak about it through the lens of Islam, what is
reconciliation?
To start off with a very, very particular verse when Allah
subhanahu wa guides us towards this,
when Allah subhanahu wa taala speaks to those now who believe in
Allah subhanahu wa the to dos and the not to dos, and
one of the most important verses that I've read with regards to
this reconciliation, it is that what Allah says,
very beautiful words. Allah says. Allah says, kadali, kazema, ILA,
Robb him, Marji, oh, Bima, Kanu yamalu, so the colla holladin,
Allah subhanahu wa says, And do not use or do not insult those
that invoke other than Allah. Look at Allah. Speak to us.
Who is the people that create chaos in the world today, it is us
because we don't understand what Allah desire for us. Allah says,
walapa Ramna Bani Adam.
Allah speaks about his creation in general. And Allah says that I've
honored my creation, the children of Adam,
if you know that, my lord orders us to be honored, not because we
are Muslim, but because we are the creation of Allah. And who are we
to judge others? We are here with a purpose and a mission, to call
people to the wonders of Allah. That is the purpose, but not to
judge. And Allah says that do not insult those who invoke other than
Allah.
Allah says to us as believers, you're going to encounter people
that's not going to believe in me.
They're going to have other types of beliefs that they believe in,
but don't you be the cause of them. What does Allah say? Lest
they insult, insult Allah in enmity without knowledge.
Allah doesn't desire for us to fight with them because, and Allah
does the desire for us to say, you are wrong and we are right,
because it will end up in a debate, and it will end up by them
insulting our Lord, Allah,
who wants to be the one that says or that's going to stand in the
red line, and that particular person that insulted Allah is
going to say, because of him,
he had no way of speaking. He had no way of educating myself to
understand the proper way and the proper meaning of things. But
instead, what he did, he said this and that and this and that about
our God.
He debated with us about our Lord,
and we didn't understand that. Allah goes well further by saying,
right, Allah says it lays the insult Allah in enmity without
knowledge.
So what is the main focus here is we need to educate the people
about the truth.
All abiya came.
There were people that were in chaos. There were people that had
different belief systems, but the ambiya came to teach them and to
educate them about the truth
and how they did it. Masha Allah,
through examples, through humility, not to say, you you guys
are Baal, you muddin, you are lost, and you lead other people
astray. This was not the way they did it. They did not come and say,
You You Kufa, you disbelievers, you are going to enter the
hellfire. This is not how they did it. They call people with humility
and with good character towards the witness of Allah.
This is our example. This is true reconciliation. This is an ummah.
Because when we speak about an ummah in general, what is this,
not only us as Muslims,
but the entire creation that's alive today, they are part of the
ummah of Muhammadu, Rasulullah wa ala.
Some of them are rightly guided, and some of them needs guidance.
Some of them are rightly guided and some of them needs guidance.
So we have a huge responsibility on our shoulders. You
know? What was so beautiful when I entered,
I had the topic Mashallah. Everything was sorted out. And as
I entered, mashaAllah was raining in the hamilah we came in, and the
first brother that came to me said, Marana, I just want to ask
you a brother want to embrace Islam today
of the Juma. I said, Allah, no problem. We cannot stop this. This
is only by Allah's decree. Allah guides hearts, and I would love to
hear your story.
Allah is the the one who plays in our hearts, and Allah will give us
the Haqq when the time is right.
Muhammad Rasulullah was Allah's Beloved,
but it took him years of that one for people to see the
Allah subhanahu wa sallam
in the Quran that
oh Muhammad, sallAllahu, alayhi wa sallam,
you are not to give guidance
Allah subhanahu, wa.
Do we know who we're talking about?
Allah Subhan WA, Taala says, Muhammad, sallAllahu, you are not
here to give guidance, not even to your loved ones.
Walla Hu yahdi May Yasha.
Allah is the one who guides whoever He so wishes to so ever he
will.
So we can't go to a person and say, You must say, Ash hadu,
Allah, ILAHA, illallah,
wa ashhadu, Muhammad, have no right,
Allah, protect people's honor in Isaiah,
Allah, allow people to do things that they are doing. It is their
own according
they will be answerable for it. But we have no right to force
people into a deen, Allah says,
Deen, there is no compulsion in religion.
What there is, what is important, what Allah says,
You must live among each other in harmony, beautifully. Show the
beauty of worshiping Allah. Show the beauty of Islam to others. But
don't think that guidance lies in your hands. It doesn't. Allah
says, Thus we have made pleasing to every community their deeds.
Every community is different.
We might feel that Masha, Allah, somebody else will feel mashallah
as well. So Allah makes please for communities their actions and then
do the Lord to their Lord is their return. So we all will return to
Allah one day. How are we going to return?
We all want to return by receiving Allah's pleasure.
We want Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, the Most Great
to be pleased with us.
But in order for that to happen,
we have a constitution.
We have a way of life to follow.
We have neighbors today, Allah, we
don't even know their names. We don't
associate ourselves with them because they're not
Muslim or they have a different ethnicity.
Maybe they from the
Indo Park region. Maybe they from the Malay region. Maybe they from
It's so strange that will lie in today's life, we can still think
like this
and Wallahi, we all guilty of you. Sometimes we speak about them and
us. You
know these people.
Them,
Allah, protect us.
Look how far them they and those went to now you look at a man, you
can't call him a man. Let's call him a they or he.
Can't say he or she. The problem going to jail.
Our sick society became
the doctors Allah,
but this is how sick society came.
Our pronouns we're not allowed to use anymore the way we want to.
You must check your pronouns. You know
ajima to Muslim, how we live life today. We are too scared to speak.
We are too scared to address each other, to address each other, and
we speak about three.
Reconciliation.
What reconciliation? The reconciliation of the West.
Islam is the pillar when it comes to this. Islam laid the foundation
Allah subhanahu wa says to our Lord, Allah, we will return and he
will inform them about what they used to do
clear instruction, you don't judge.
Allah will inform them one day they don't want to listen. All we
need to do is what is to give a message
that is our duty.
Do you know about Islam? Can I speak to you, brother? Do you have
five minutes for me. Let me tell you what true Islam is. Don't
worry about the media.
Islam is to believe in one God, Allah, and to follow the final
message of Muhammad Sallallahu. Simplest way of giving the message
of Islam, oh,
from the good step one, conversation,
not debate. Conversation, have a conversation with the person. I
want to speak to you, because you know you guys, you don't listen.
How many times did we speak about the Trinity already? How many
times Allah,
Allah subhanahu wa created us.
How
in different ethnicities. Allah says, in different colors,
different flavors. Masha, Allah, but why?
Allah says, in order for you to get to know each other,
go to each other, speak to each other. And what should we see in
that we should see the greatness in Allah, in
why? Because you think you're better Allah say, let me tell you,
in the in the lahit,
Allah says that the best and the most honored of the people are the
ones with the most Taqwa
so Masha, Allah, I've got no Taqwa than everybody here
stuff. Allah, can I say that? I don't know. It might be a brother
that's our very brother that will embrace Islam today. Allahu,
Akbar, our
highest levels can be today. He's going to be somebody with no sin
on his scale.
Ya Allah, grant us all that to be free from sin one day. And
this is how we want to be to ya, Allah, without
flaws,
the day when we close our eyes, yeah, Rob, we're going to be
questioned by Allah.
You know, the famous joke that our teachers make is Buddhas went like
they used
to say, the
Buddhas did smoke. Used to say, can you imagine the day when you
close your eyes, you lay there in the grave
and Allah say I gave you 100% lungs?
Why are you giving me 20% back
to think about brothers,
Allah say I gave you a perfect physique. You come here with a
button that is just so big
you're oppressing my grounds. Look near the old stuff. It's not going
to be like that. No,
but look how Why are you so big? You didn't look after your body. I
gave you 100% body. That function
we are going to be questioned.
Life is not just living.
It's not You're not just going to Allah says I didn't create your
abutak
So there's a reason why I've created you, why Allah created
us.
Allah says,
I've created you to worship me.
I've created you to know your God, Allah, to have a connection with
me.
Why is it that you don't know me?
First question in our grave book
is going to it depends how it's going to happen, jamatistically,
according to our state of iman, according to our obedience in
Allah, according to our following the Tariqah of SallAllahu, Sallam
is how the question will be posed, either a beautiful angel in white
is going to come down, calming and soothing and asking you,
Abdullah, oh, the servant of Allah, Who is your Lord, who can
Be the Dark Angel with a voice like thunder?
Wabara, shouting at us,
just that shouting already puts us in this
are we going to answer?
Follows
my, rob my, my Lord is.
Money, because that was my vision and my aim in life. Only that I
focused on that, oh, it can be that person with his humility,
with his Jamal, with his beauty, the way that he abide by Allah,
and he served Allah, and he served humanity, and he was a good
husband to his wife, and he was a good father to his children, and
he was a good community member, and he was a good leader to
society. And that that angel will say Abdullah, and soothing and
sweetly, he will decide, and he will say, Allahu, abi,
Allah, abujamin. It's
scary when we speak about these things, but it's reality and
Wallahi, the reality is only to us as believers, because some people
love as if they're never going to die.
Some, sometimes even us. Many of us, we don't think about death.
Death is our reminder. Death is something that will keep us on the
righteous path. If we think about death, the first thing that we
should do is ya, Allah, where am I?
What is my connection with you?
Oh, if you take my life now, what's going to happen
yesterday, subhanAllah, we had one of our youngsters
who came to remind us of what Allah calls a dhikr
Allah subhanahu. WA says, In nahnu na zal,
in na lahulah, we have revealed the book, the remembrance, the
Quran, to you, and we are the ones that will protect it. How Allah
protect it. Just one request, brothers, there are many gaps.
It's raining outside. Have some hearts for our brothers that still
need to enter the Masjid. It is raining beautifully. Masha, Allah,
I know we want to have some of the rahmah Inshallah, if people can
maybe stand up Inshallah, that will allow us to close all the
gaps tightly, and then Inshallah, we fill all the gaps from David
funding, jamat,
Magda Allah, must give us
bigger massages.
Amen, in order for us to accommodate for all the mukmini
and for all those who are still going to come into our deen as
well.
Inshallah, amen.
Shukran, so much
Masha, Allah, a lot of people can enter now. I can see Mashallah.
So when we speak about the Dhikr Yesterday, we saw how Allah allow
us to preserve.
Imagine we had a youngster by the age of 1516, years old, sitting
here from fajr, half past three, half past four in the morning, and
mashallah in one sitting, he completed the entire recital of
the Quran from memory.
Half past seven and eight. He was done.
It happened here in our masjid, in our time.
The dhikr is there? The remembrance is there. The proof is
in the pudding. Allah proved to us it can happen today.
That miracle in Allah is the greatest miracle of Muhammad,
sallAllahu, alayhi wa sallam. Allah preserves in the hearts of
youngsters.
Allah preserve in the hearts of your child and my child,
and still we cannot reconcile with each other. Still, we cannot have
a beautiful life with each other. I'm not even talking now about
other deeds. I'm talking about our deen within ourselves.
The problem is still, who makes Tahir and put his finger down
immediately? Who makes Tahir and keep his finger out? How can he
keep his finger long day? Allah Akbar, like this. I His hands not
there?
That is our argument. Lala illallah, Muhammad, sallAllahu,
Sallam came as
what he
came to show us character. If somebody differ, differs with you.
He differs with you. Doesn't mean I must shout at him. It doesn't
mean I must have such an opinion whereby I hate him. It means that
we must have must tolerate each other, and we must educate
ourselves in them. And when we come to the Haqq, then we accept
that this is the Haqq.
And if this Haqq on both sides, Alhamdulillah, that's our deen, it
is a Rahma for us.
Our deen is not one track minded. Our deen is not somebody a deen
that we should look at it with blinkers on our eyes. Our deen is
was that it's used and spacious and vast. We will learn till the
day we die and beyond that, we will not be able to study our deen
completely, because Allah is Allah
is the all Knower. Sometimes we think that we are all known. No,
it's my way or the highway.
If you don't believe what I say, then you kafir,
Lala, Allah, protect us from this.
This is what is. What's causing chaos today.
And the sad part is learned people fall into the street.
We speak about reconciliation, Allah, Allah says, when Allah
speak about this, Allah, Allah says, Don't make them to swear our
Lord Allah, you know what the problem is. We doing it ourselves.
We create so much chaos in our own communities and our people are so
confused they don't know what to do anymore
because of our opinions.
We are so low.
Salawat
is an argument.
Allah, rasulallah, sallAllahu becomes an argument. Walai today
went to bacha Quran, and when not to bacha Quran is an argument. La
ilaha, illallah, that is the Ummah state today. When must
we bacha Quran? When the Prophet Quran? When did when did you bacha
Quran? No one can tell you that
it's a problem.
Allah, forgive us for our shortcomings,
but we need to open our minds and our hearts to receive Allah in His
blessings and the Prophet Salam sunnah completely. People studied
for years. I just said
this morning to somebody, you know, what was the argument? I'm
so tired of it, and I think everybody was whether you can say
Jama Mubarak or not,
please, brother, people are dying.
The brothers
Ramadan came.
How can you say that the Prophet didn't say that?
Giants of the past discussed this? There was no issues. They
understood that the Samuel they they had, they tolerated each
other because of opinions that is based on Quran in Hadith,
but the way aims understand it.
I read
Bukhari and
Google said,
our scholars, jamat
is very difficult. You know, if you in the field, you will
understand. That's why you will never see Wallahi. You will never
see two scholars come together and shouting at each other and
fighting with each other. Why? Because it's based on proofs. Two
scholars, you cannot sit with somebody that don't understand the
proofs and don't understand how to get to things you can't. Imam
Shafi Rahim Allah said, today, if I should debate a Sahabi, I will
probably be the outcome. The outcome will probably be that I
win in the debate.
Imam Shafi Rahim Allah said, not put arrogance. He said it. He
wanted to prove a point, but he said, But in today's time, if
somebody comes to me
that is jahid that does have no knowledge, and he debates me,
he'll probably win me.
You will beat me in a debate. Why the ignorant person will beat me
in the debate? Because he has, he's got absolutely no clue. I can
tell him. Allah say in the Quran, the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu,
Sallam says, this is what he's meant. This is the shrub of the
Hadith. This is a dental Look
at this.
Again,
Buddha, but take any La
ilaha illAllah. What are you debating? And
that's why Allah makes it very clear, and sometimes we fall
short. Why? Because we don't follow Allah's instructions. Allah
jalalu, instructions. Allah subhanahu, Salah. You know, I call
you Salamah. When a man comes to you like that, he said, There you
go. That's
all you do.
Don't debate with such a person. It will cause you hatred in your
heart towards that person. Of course, cause you to despise the
person in order to safeguard yourself. Say, salaam, Alaikum.
What? What do you say, my brother, you are free from any enmity in my
heart. That's what you're telling him. May Allah, bless you. Send
salutations and blessings upon you. That is what you leave your
brother with. And you must be sincere in that. Don't just say
because you sincere in that. Don't just say it, because you do, my
brother, I love you, salaam, the brother will also think, I say for
me, salaam, at the end of the day, you will think that didn't argue
with me. What is wrong with me?
Only afterwards we sometimes realize how silly we were. Such a
small thing could have caused us to tear each other apart. It's
happening today. Let us be of those who reconcile. Allah says in
the ending of this,
Allah says that you are a brotherhood and a sisterhood for
us. Hubaina, hawaiku, wa Taku LA,
reconcile among you. Have your differences, but you have to
reconcile.
Why Allah says, WA Taku LA, because you must fear Allah.
Fear Allah.
God, how can you close your eyes tomorrow with hatred in your heart
towards your brother? Hatred in your heart? You know, there was a
situation that occurred. Somebody studied abroad. He came home, he
gave dawah to his mother. His mother looked at him. His mother
said, What happened to you? He said, I can't eat your food
anymore. You say how he spoke to his mother because you out of the
fold of Islam because of your belief. His mother is a Muslim.
His mother, really, his mother is the reason of him going to study.
He tells his mother, you are Cafe because you don't believe, like I
believe,
Allah has been pleased with such a person. The elegance that we get
through not understanding, yeah, it will tear us apart. It will rip
us apart. We are a community that are the Ummah of Muhammad
Rasulullah. Would he have addressed any issue the way we
address an issue today?
Nobody did what we are doing today. In the time of the
messenger. Nobody would get up there and challenge the messenger.
They won't. You understand that this comes from Allah is Rasul.
How did they speak? Can I inform you about something they would
say, Allah needs Rasul knows best.
Please inform that's how they responded. Our scholars today say
something
Fatah.
Study. That's our
attitude today towards people that Allah has looked 70,000 times with
mercy, with and accepted them to study Allah's Deen. That's how we
look at them today. And we ask ourselves, why is the world in
chaos today? We don't listen to our ulama. We don't listen to our
honorable teachers. A teacher today will say something that will
take him to jahannam. That is, is that what we think our teachers
and our ulamas main objective is how Raso as the objective was, is
how to take people to Jannah and we Wallahi, we say, we we debate
that. But he said, No, we know that person's heart. We know he's
got no Taqwa.
We know
we have no right ever.
The brother do is doing out of love for you. He's doing out of
love for Allah and His Rasul. So sit down first and you reflect.
Why am I doing this? Why am I going to challenge the person? Why
am I debating the person? Is it because I want to come on top
hours. The best reconciliation is important, not only from a Western
perspective. We need to start with Islam. Allah says that you need to
reconcile among you. And Rasul Assam gives us the period of time
that we need to do it in only three days. You have to do it
three days. You have to be upset to blow off some steam. But after
the third day, Rasul says, now you need to reconcile. If you don't do
it, you're sinners. You become a sinner immediately. And Allah
forgive us and protect us from this, because this breaks up
societies. This breaks up family.
So think about the word reconciling again.
The West try to do it, but we know there's agendas in Islam. There
should be no agendas in
Islam. There should be no agendas. There should be one.
And may Allah grant us to unite, because Allah says
all
that, all the time, tied to the rope of Allah, and do not divide
among yourself. May we not be those who cause this army between
so inshallah. May Allah protect us and guide us and grant us to be of
those who bring people together and not to break people apart.
InshaAllah and Allah bless us with a blessing that Allah support us
today for our entire lives. Avi narapa, ali, jamati, Muslim, we
have a delegation from Canada that is here today. We welcome them to
Cape Town on such a beautiful day. MashAllah in a beautiful Masjid.
Allah, bless you here and honor you. You stay with us as well.
Inshallah for our brother, may Allah, bless you who's going to
embrace Islam today. Allah, bless you always. Allah, guide and
protect you. Inshallah and mashaAllah, everybody, masha
Allah, we must say congratulations to him. He is one that made our
community proud, the one who recited surakar today, yesterday,
recited the entire Quran 30 Aja zayin, one sitting from fajr till
just before Maghrib. Masha Allah, really, he made us proud. Great
scholars were yesterday. They acknowledge that. Masha, Allah,
Moana, what has happened here today is not easy. You guys have
done a brilliant job in this community to have nurtured a
learner like this. May Allah bless us. All all our institutions of
knowledge. May Allah bless them to do this good that they are doing.
May Allah
bless you. All salaam, Alaikum.
