Oh,
differences in everything. But when it comes to our masajid, we
stand firm. When it comes to our deen, we stand firm. We still see
marches happening for Palestine, marches happening for this and for
that, going up to Parliament, a minority community doing the
Subhanallah and Wallahi. If we look at the history from the time
of
Yusuf al makaswari, when he came into guru, and what they have
achieved, subhanAllah, many, many masaji, who would have thought
year today in the northern suburbs, here in panorama, in the
heart of what was so called, to know, to be known as the apartheid
era, where there was dominance from one race over another. Here's
a masjid
Alhamdulillah. This is Allah's bounties. And our topic today is
very much linked to this. Don't think that when this bounties are
here, everything is favorable. In your mashaAllah, you are fine. You
are good. There's nothing wrong. You can now love. Cannot worry. A
Muslim always have a worry. A Muslim always have a concern. A
Muslim always have a vision. A Muslim always have a mission. A
Muslim, they all of them, Masha, Allah, unitedly, are moving
towards one direction, and that is Allah,
and that must be constantly on our mind, no matter our differences,
no matter how you know things are trialed. In my lifetime, I have so
much tribulations. They are not listening to me. This one is not
agreeing with me, right? There's no need for us to throw tantrums
about it. There's a need for us to turn to some creator, some being
that is unique, some being that is one. Ulhu Allahu, Ahad Allah,
Subhanahu wa mentioned to us that He is the absolute one. We are not
at liberty, and we are not allowed to believe in anything different
to that. Ala hum ma Allah, Allah, mentioned in the Quran is there of
you who will choose any other deity with Allah,
stop Allah alim, we are not at liberty and allow to do this. And
may Allah, Subhanahu wa taala, protect us from this. And we send
salutations upon Ashraful, the one who came to show us how to live.
The one who came to show us how to be humane, be human. Muhammad
Sallallahu, sallam's lifestyle is about today we hear human rights,
human rights. MashaAllah, they should actually swap it around,
like I've mentioned in the part is the rights of human
the rights of humankind. We always focus on human rights, human
rights, but we never focus on the rights of the human
we speak so much about the human rights, but we don't feed them. We
don't spend upon the poor. We have attitude towards whatever the good
cause Allah subhanahu wa sent in our way, in our path, with
attitude towards it that is not human rights. Look at the rights
of people, and you automatically will inshallah fulfill the duty of
human rights. And Allah subhanahu wa mentioned a beautiful verse in
the Quran for us. And our topic today is a portion of that of the
Quran verse. And Inshallah, we'll first explain what that is, and
then we'll give inshallah what Allah subhanahu wa so beautifully
reminds us about in this verse. This is a very serious verse. This
is a verse that speaks about the people before us.
This is a verse where Allah reminds us you want to follow this
path, just remember what has happened to those who came before
you. And it is a serious reminder, any reminder, but from Allah
subhanahu wa taala series. But this is now for us to realize that
we come from such a beautiful month from Allah subhanahu wa
given us. And some of us, you know, we've, we've, we appreciate
the month of Ramadan so much, subhanAllah, that our entire life
is Ramadan. And may Allah allow us to be from them the day that we
open our eyes, when we raise our heads Inshallah, in our cover, we
see Eid that will be our aid,
our life should be Ramadan. Ramadan is amazing. Ramadan, teach
us Taqwa. Ramadan, everyone of us, Wallahi, who have fasted, Didi,
after the Bak manani,
those who have fasted Wallahi, even if it is that you only fasted
that is a proof of your taqwa in Allah. How is it so?
If you fast, nobody sees
nobody can see you fast.
Nobody can hear you fast. Nobody can ever know that you fast.
Do it. It's only you.
So you're at home alone,
and your fridge is smiling at you, you suddenly start seeing faces.
And you say, You know what I can actually eat here's No, I know at
home now submaha. But internally, you tell yourself, no, it's the
month of Ramadan, and you don't
something that is halal for you the entire year, it's standing you
in the face and staring at you and mashallah, you know, you see a
baloney, but suddenly the baloney become like a beef with some nice
spices on it, and it's only a baloney.
You're like Laila illallah, but you say, what? Allah,
fear Allah,
you don't eat that Baloney, right? That is taqwa,
because at this particular moment, Allah made a certain time haram
for you to eat. And nobody knows, only you and Allah and you fasted.
So that's a sign of Taqwa. It's a sign it's there. Now you need to
do the added things that comes with that. You need to perform
your Salah on time. You need to do that some of us, if you have
shortcomings, just the fact that you have fasted shows that you
have taqwa and you have Iman Ramadan means something to all of
us, even our children. SubhanAllah. We, some of us, we,
we are proud of our kids. We inshaAllah, we're going to
recognize our kids now, and we surely should do so. Some other
masaji did it already, where they fasted an entire month, Jamaat al
Muslim in our community. So unique. I must tell you about
this. You know the some of our brothers from overseas, they come,
and the children sometimes are eight years old, already nine
years old. They don't fast. They're not buchala. No one's the
buchala. They must fast, but they don't fast, and they don't put
pressure on the children to fast. And the
the thought in their mind is, and the perception is that we force
our children to fast. You know, how can you let a child fast from
five years old,
some of us four years old. Subhanallah, did I say, Brother,
we don't tell our children to fast. Wallahi, we don't tell our
children to fast. This comes from the children themselves. What does
this mean? There is such a legacy that is uphold in this small
community of Cape Town that the four year old and a five year old
feels that they need to fast. That is not that if the child is
suffering and struggling, we're not going to say, No, you must
fast. You can't break your fast. We're going to say, Bismillah, my
baby, you can eat this. No, for example, my children six days of
Shawal Ramadan is far. You must fast. And they understood that.
But now, shawar, there's no Farah idea. Abu makhs, we fast the Six
Day. Say no, I tell them no, and I just say the encouragement is but
if you fast, you get the reward of entire year of fasting. Wow. Now
it blows their mind. Inshallah, back to their belts. I'm going to
fast abi, for
example, I would have fasted. Example, I would have fasted the
first six days of Shawal immediately after a mother, my
children requested my little amazing abi, please. It's long
weekend.
Please don't fast the weekend. I'm like, oh, there's a big challenge
for me. Wallahi, the six days of shawar is a challenge for me.
Ramadan, I know I must fast. Shawar,
it's a sunnah. It's a great sunnah, but still, sometimes, you
know, you feel that okay, I want to eat now, and so I immediately
do it for six days this year. I was challenged by my children.
Alhamdulillah. Is today's eat for me. Yesterday, I finished today.
Tatbir, Allahu, Akbar mashallah, it was, we've done it. Allah
achievement, one year of fasting. Amin ya rabal habilim and
inshallah. For those who didn't have holy six days do it. There's
so much benefit in it. Subhanallah, Allah gives you a
year of fasting. You know, you didn't fast. You didn't fast the
whole year. But Allah gives you the reward as if you have fasted
sincerely for the sake of Allah, sincerely, you didn't fast in our
fast of Ramadan, there might have been faults, there might have
been, you know, thoughts, there might have been anything that is
flawed. But in this, Allah gives you just like that Subhanallah,
may Allah allow us, inshaAllah, to fast the six days of Shawal and
gain the whole year of fasting. Am in your palamin. But today's topic
hearts that become humbly submissive at the remembrance of
Almighty Allah. What does this mean? Hearts Allah subhanahu wa
taala says, In the Quran, and I'm going to read the verse in sha
Allah and the translation of the verse, and we'll go a little bit
more into detail with it. InshaAllah, Allah subhanahu wa
says, Baal rajim, Alam Yat nila, di na Amanu and taksha akullu,
burillah wa man as Alamin, Al haqti wala yakun, Allah meant
kabul fakala Ali, he will Ahmadu bin Allahu Akbar, the remind of
Allah. Allah, Subhanahu wa Taala says, has the time had come for
those who believe that their hearts should become.
Humbly submissive. And the remembrance of Allah, if we just
take that portion, it is a reach out from your Creator to you, just
the portion. Allah says, the time that come, wake up. Islam, wake
up. Oh my servants. Allah. Subhanho wa Taala says, the time
that come. You are the believers. Be humble. Submit to Allah. I've
given you a month where you've proven to yourself that you can be
steadfast on your Salah. You can be a beautiful, genuine person who
gives sadaqah without without question,
without question. Sadaqah should be given. How,
without thinking, you know, what are you going to do with it? If I
give you this, you know, there's always
some something that you need to add flavor to before you give who
are you? Where you're from, you ask all the questions, Allah,
Allah, Allah, sadakas by Nahua Bay in Allah, sadas, between you and
Allah. Nobody needs to know. No questions need to be asked. That
is the true Sadaqah. That is the sadaqah that keeps away the anger
from Allah. That is the sadaqah we talk about.
Don't ask questions. Wallahi, the one that will ask questions,
believe me, it is Allah.
You can be whoever you are. You can ask all the questions you you
want to ask also, but the day is going to come, brother, that you
are going to be questioned, are you ready for that?
That is important, prepare yourself,
your attitude, the way that you conduct yourself. Prepare that,
and you will see a good ending. Hearts must become humble. Allah
mentioned. Allah mentioned this name for a reason, because you can
be How arrogant,
and you give the most right through the world, it will mean
nothing to Allah. Is it? Allah say
you can give everything you want in the world, and you can do the
world of good, but you can destroy it by taking away humility and
refill infil it with arrogance, with haughtiness, because you are
the one doing. And I have done this so many times, and I know,
and you don't know, And subhanAllah, you don't know. Allah
knows. Allah knows. We don't know. Allah Allah will question us one
day, Jamaat al muslimin, for everything that we do.
So our tongue needs to be very careful before it let out whatever
comes from thee, especially when it comes to Allah's Deen.
Allah subhanahu wa says, humbly submissive, submit to Allah's
oneness. At the remembrance of Allah, remembering Allah. So what
you do, what you say, what leaves your mouth, your actions,
everything that you do, should be a reminder for you of Allah.
It should remind you this, what I'm doing. It is completely out of
line. I cannot do this.
That is, that is remembering Allah. And that is a day from
Allah,
somebody that can think and say, I am out of line.
I need to ask mouth. I need to, you know, somebody that gets the
opportunity like that should make sugar to Allah. More. Cos Allah
allow you in this life to do that.
Subhanallah, imagine you didn't do it. Now, it's a question that will
come up the Day of Qiyamah. Now hisab will come to you. Now you're
going to be answerable. You said this.
Back it up. Now, as Allah says
to Burhan,
now come. Now come with your proof. Here's your Lord, Allah, I
said something and you said something. So who's going to come
out victorious today? Let's see you are that haughty person. You
are that person that speak to people in a derogatory way. You
have no way of conducting yourself. You think that people
are lower than you. Bismillah, brother, Allah. Subhana wa Taala
warns us about that. Let that be a dhikr of Allah to you.
Let it be a reminder if you do it. Subhanallah, say, Ya Allah,
sukshkari, Arab, he actually made me realize that I am that person.
Let me change my ways. Ramadan, I again say it proved to you your
taqwa. Dahik Subhan Allah, it's like Allah plays him in front of
you as your test. For Ramadan. They wait for you. He works for
you. But in Ramadan is like all the areas come out. It's like your
eye sight becomes basirah. You just see the wrong in people.
Allah,
how come I didn't see this? Yay.
So now what comes Hindi? So good.
I
can see nothing.
Oh, what is that you didn't burst out in Ramadan?
You rather say, Brother, please don't do this. You know, I.
You did this right? Inshallah, I have a
lot of patience with you. The Buddha's also like a
boss is speaking to me like this. Inshallah, I say
he actually addressed me as a human. He spoke to me so
beautifully. I love this. And he changes entire ways, and you start
seeing what, what did all the business people, Inshallah, and
all of us in our households, what did we see? We saw barakah. You
know the word Baraka Where did you ever come out with your salary?
The way that you come out in Ramadan with your salary? So eat a
freezer full some wusas and pies, and cook sisters and spring rolls.
And where did that come from? You can't buy that throughout the
year, if I must buy now, spring was a Musa. I have nothing left.
SubhanAllah. You know, you can't. You must budget for something else
now.
But Baraka was there. He was present in the month of Ramadan.
You became a total different person. And through that, Allah
shows you. You know, if you do this, you change your ways. This
is what I give
this is what I will do for you. You see things that happen in ways
that you could never, ever have imagined. Allah, place it in front
of you. Lahaulah, you actually see you have a good son.
You start liaising with your son during the year,
maximum
change, Vijay,
sounds familiar. Mashallah,
that is, that is * here. But Ramadan, have my boy, Bismillah.
Why? Because the fathers know the master claims
a Kanima, it
more, Father, I place it in front of you also. No problem. You know,
Masha, Allah, you changed your ways. And what did Allah prove to
you? Baraka, here's it. Come on, just do this for me. What is that?
We humbled ourselves so Allah, we going to do this for your sake. We
are submitting to you. Why we are not eating, we are fasting. Ya
Allah, we are there in taraweeh Allah, we are there for Al salah.
Ya Allah, if you can't Subhanallah, but we say Allah, we
still do it. We are so connected to Allah. Allah shows you what you
are in my remembrance, and if you remember me, I will sustain you in
ways and means unimaginable. So let's see what the what the verse
say further, subhanAllah,
Allah, Subhanahu wa says, and let them not be like those who were
given the Scripture before. Allah speaks about the people who came
before us.
All said, don't be like them.
Remember me, Allah, remember my bounties. Don't be like those who
came before you, whom a scripture was sent to. And Allah say, and a
long periods, period passed over them. So their hearts said,
when this a period has passed over them, their hearts became
hardened. And
what do we always hear? Ramadan, don't go back onto your ways.
Inculcate good things within your life, and stick to that. Don't go
back onto your ways if you're going to do that. This is a
reminder for us. Prior to you, people also gained goodness from
Allah, and they wore good,
but after that, they deprived themselves from this Damas, this
bounties from Allah subhanahu wa taala, by what, by turning away
from the root and
what happened because of that, Allah distanced Allah subhanahu wa
from them and what happened to their hearts. It became hard,
and how hard it is for us to cry for the sake of Allah Ramadan, Ya
Allah, how beautiful it was hearing the sounds of crying from
grown men.
It was an honor for us to stand next to men seeing the dumour, the
cry, the tears flowing from their eyes. Why and Daksha Allah, out of
humility, humility and hope and fear of Allah? Did they understand
what was recited? No,
but Quran had an effect on them. Why? Because it was out of the
remembrance of Allah, out of the Dhikr of Allah, out of
understanding and submitting to Allah's Cause. Ya Allah, you are
the one that allowed me a Ramadan.
Ya Allah, you are the one that allowed me to stand in Tahajjud
prayer together. Allah, you allow me to study lay al Salat together
for one purpose only, to seek forgiveness for the Ummah,
for the goodness of the Ummah, for my family, you asked duayahs in
Ramallah that you've never asked before.
Allah, that is why the tears started to flow from the eyes.
And he was so wonderful. How come Ramadan just exit and suddenly I
am that Bulldog again.
You come in front of me, brother, I will Afrikaans, it was here for
you.
Is why Allah says
their hearts become so hardened and listen to beautifully what
Allah subhanahu wa says. Allah subhanahu wa ends off by serious a
serious note, and many of them are defiantly disobedient.
The word that I want to focus on is Kathir wa Kathy rum Allah
Subhan wa Taala says many kathiram, Min hum fasi Kun in many
of them. Allah gives us a picture that
it will always be the majority that will be like this. They will
be ungrateful to Allah,
the majority who stood against Haqq,
majority, no, the minority,
who are the ones that always think about Allah. Subhanahu.
Wa little among them will be of those who remembers Allah,
who are the people of shukr, who are grateful. What does Allah say?
Kalila Maura,
very little among you will be grateful to Allah for the bounties
that Allah bestow upon you. But what does Allah say about the
fusak, about the one that will always transgress? Allah say
kathiram,
kathiram Minho. A lot of you.
A lot of you, you will be transgressing Allah's laws. Why?
Because you are unlettered. You are not knowledgeable. You will
make statements, and you will say things, and you will do things,
not understanding the gravity of it, the severity of it. You will
stand against Haqq, and you will think nothing about it. Remember
when you do that, Kali LAN, only a few will listen to Allah, but a
lot will be of those who will transgress Allah's laws. And if
you do that, say, I don't want to be of those, because to be amongst
the Allah is nice. It's nice. Why it's nice to be amongst the
majority. They recognize you. They praise you, hey, mashallah,
yes, so Allah. Masha,
Allah, very nice. Do it my brother. Remember this when you do
things like this? Think about Allah.
Think about that little that are grateful, that little that don't
do that, that little that recognize the moon, the HUKUM of
ALLAH Ali, there's a little of them.
And then Ali ABA took me nun.
Little of them believe sometimes you do things. You believe you are
right. You know the hat can come in front of you. And you know,
every day we are reminded about this, and we remind ourselves
about this. If you make salah, you everyday say, rail magdu bi
alayhim, walap Bali, you ask, Allah, Ya Allah, don't make us
among them who Abu Al and mudil. The truth is in front of them.
They see it. It's explained to them. But Allah prevailed, and
they are dual. They are lost, and they are model, and they let
others astray as well.
So be careful what we do. The reminder today is Ramadan could be
such a time that I can be so so much sane in my mind and know who
my Creator, Allah is, I would not tarnish my fast for anything.
I would remember Allah in every situation, whether it's in my
business dealings, whether it is in my daily activities, whether it
is with my brothers, whether it was my family, whether it is with
my sisters, whether it is with the community. We would, Inshallah, we
would try our best to be the great servant of Allah. But then after
Ramadan, let us not be of those whose hearts, as Allah describes,
not me, Allah described, your hearts will become so hard, then
the truth will become farfetched. Allah protect us from his army.
To see the truth, it's a bounty. To see the Haq is a bounty, and to
listen to the Haq, to accept it as a bhakti?
They were many. They were the Abu jahls of the time. They were
notables among the Quraysh.
They were the Abu Lahab of the time. They were notables.
And then they were Abu Bakr Rajya Allah. Then they were
Hamza Raj Allah.
Who were they? They were the people who were humble. They were
known in society, but they were very humble.
So both sides were notables, but some Allah plays veils, and some
Allah shows the truth, and some Allah made a Siddiq, and some
Allah made ASA Duvall.
Allah, the Lion of Allah
and the others, Abu lahabi, wata Allah cursed them. They were also
notables, and they also thought that they were right, and they
stood against truth, although the truth was in front of them, just
like Abu Bakr was given dawah, Abu Lahab was given down.
But how come it is Abu Lahab is doomed for *, and Abu Bakr has
been given the glad tidings in this world of Jannah,
because what they accepted Allah. They accepted when the truth was
said, they accepted the favor of Allah upon them,
Ya Allah. This makes us emotional to we accept the truth from Allah?
Is our hearts of those people
who submit to Allah's wonders? Are
we humble?
Think about the Jama Tulu.
This ummah is an ummah of such a being Allah sent who is the
greatest of Allah's creation. How did he serve Allah with arrogance?
Did he need arrogance?
Look at your example that Allah placed in front of you, and Allah
say this model that I put in front of you in nakala, Allah who look
in alim, his alaq was of the greatest of bounds nobody can
exceed. It
be like him and Jannah will be for you, wajib Allahu, AJ namin, hum
Allah, grant us Jannah. Why? Because we have the greatest of
prophets that came to us that showed us a way of life. Follow
His way of life.
He was the one that said many things. Study what he said, study
his sayings, study His way of life, how he conducted himself.
Because the greatest thing that will be able to take you to
Jannah, greater than anything, greater than prayer and
everything, is what is hustle. It's beautiful character.
Rasulullah said, the greatest gift and act that Allah, Subhanahu wa
taala, will allow people to intergender with his what is
beautiful character?
Not all your deeds, no, that is part of it. But the ones with the
greatest of character, they will enter gender, for sure, Allah was
that inshallah Muslim mean for that
Allah subhanahu wa allowed us to remind ourselves about Allah
subhanahu wa, Salam. We have again,
subhanAllah a Cy double, 1385, Mercedes Benz. That is
the owner of the property is busy deflating His car's tires. Do not
park in front of my parking the owner put something on the Allah,
forgive us, Allah, so if it happened, Allah, allow us to
assist the brother Inshallah, to Allah, to
inflate his tires. But this is this example. People are becoming
tired. We are parking in front of people's parking lots, and people
are tired now it's becoming something whereby they are
deflating our tires. So now we're going to say they are the wrong
ones. It's not them, it's us. And Inshallah, like I said, it is a
bounty. It's accepted. And Inshallah, we Asmaa, and we move
forward and we don't do it again. Inshallah, we spoke about the
parking area over and over and over again. Allah, protect us.
Inshallah, we just have an announcement in sha Allah, from
the Arwa Shabab youth
that they will be having a Buri sale, a Bureau of sale tomorrow.
Inshallah, as we have a function that's happening at amajit. It
will be a fundraiser for our youth. Inshallah, from 12 till 130
the cutoff is today. Inshallah, you can make pre orders as a
bureau was as well as a cool drink for 50 Rand, we can contact the
administrator. Inshallah, Farzana. It's at o8, 10400480,
inshallah. There's anyone who needs this information, they can
be in delay. Just contact me Inshallah, and I'll give the
number and then a reminder about the AGM inshallah to Allah that's
coming up on Sunday the 28th of May. There is information in front
Inshallah, with regards to the AGM, it also has been sent out to
the entire community, so we urge everybody to read up on it.
Inshallah, that is also on our website and register. We indila, I
think it's election year this year for executive committee as well as
trustees. So mashallah, we we want to see all of you there. It's
always nice to have our brothers and our sisters in the masjid and
here also. Inshallah, let's stand together and know what is
happening in our masjid and what's happening in the future of our
Masjid. Inshallah, we need you to be here, to be a part of it, like
you have been part of the building of this project. We need you now
to be part of the forward planning of this project as well inshallah
and Allah. Bless you. BarakAllahu, salaam, alaikum wa rahmatullahi
