The greeting of Islam, as well as the greeting of Jannah, Asmaa,
collagita, Allah barakah, two
Alhamdulillah, all thanks and praises unto Allah, Subhanahu wa
taala, who
afford afforded us this opportunity once again together in
the house of Allah subhanho wa Taala at an hour which Allah
subhanahu wa as
we
know now,
the silly season is starting.
Now it's becoming festive. Now our values goes down the drain. Now
the hard work for the entire year, getting onto a mam Hajj, onto a
level whereby Allah subhanaw taala increase now and time will come,
and He will say, Alhamdulillah. He will restrain our ears, and he
will say, Now is the time for you to take a break.
Now is the time to take it easy. Relax your mind,
relax your soul.
By the way, everybody must have heard, now I've been given the
title of the soul doctor.
If you need something, mashallah, come sitting, you can come
Inshallah, we'll treat the soul stoping. Masha Allah, but
this is how life is today. We build ourselves up, but shaitan,
he will continue to pull us down because he needs companions. He
needs people to follow him to his pathway, although Allah subhanahu
wa says Abu as servants of
Allah subhanahu wa, as long as they make you still follow to
Allah, Allah subhanho wa Taala will guide them. Allahu Mahdi.
Allah,
we have
Sheik Mahmud mentioned, come,
please.
You what
is going
to happen to our nation? Jamaat.
Masha Allah is doing brilliant work with the honorable shepherd.
I shall we are honored to have him with us today. I'm not sure if I
must speak over I must go to come and take over myself. I come and
take
Alhamdulillah,
will always try to pull us down, because Allah guides us for as
long as we seek and search for Allah subhanho wa Taala guidance.
Allah subhanho wa Taala is with us.
Allah subhanahu wa is willing to take us by the hand and lead us to
Allah subhanahu wa taala, Jannah. For indeed Allah, Allah is the One
Who prepared al Jannah for us our fortune, prayer, Ummah that Allah,
Jannah, jalalu himself chose, out
of his own magnitude,
to prepare Jannah for us.
It is not the Malaika, it is not any of the creation of Allah.
SubhanaHu wa Allah and Allah says, I have prepared for you my Jannah,
Allah
and Allah, we will find Allahu Jannah. Amien.
Today we speak about the importance, once again, of
knowledge. I
want to start off on a little bit of a term that might sound
negative, but inshaAllah, we move to positivity, one of our greatest
scholars in Islam, Imam as Shafi, Rahima Allah,
known as nasuluddin,
known as the one who came. Imam as Shafi is known as the one who came
to revive Deen,
who came to contribute so much to deal and we Masha Allah today,
tremendously from this great scholar, but he himself once found
himself in a situation whereby he went to his Teacher,
subhanAllah, and you know, Shayla im Allah was worried,
you know, because Allah subhanahu wa shoulders, and he understood
the magnitude of the task.
He understood the responsibility on his shoulders. But something
happened to him.
Him, and he went to his teacher. Like all of us, if we want to find
comfort, sometimes we feel Yahoo, I'm stagnated. You know, am I
doing enough? Then we just need that two minutes, you know, of
company and Sukta, of the teacher, and the positive words that they
give to us. And then Masha, Allah, we find again we can take on the
world. Allah, bless our teachers and keep them among them, among us
for long years to come running.
So he got a Shafi, he went
and he says
to his teacher, and
it's a famous poem that he recite, you know, we can find it in his
divan. Inshallah, the other you say, shakomi wakir,
so ahi,
he says, I went to complain to my teacher, wakir,
that my memory is weak. I find myself struggling to memorize
now, you know, in the past, it was a big thing today. Inshallah, I
struggle. I give up. Now, I'm not cut out for this.
I'm starting with the Quran. I'm learning it, but, oh, so
difficult. InshaAllah, let's give it rather, hand it over to my
child. Inshallah, oh, no, no, the next generation. Inshallah, we
give up.
You know, our predecessors did not know the word known as giving up.
He went to complain. He said, I went to lucky my teacher, and I
said, I found difficulty in memorization.
The strangest thing is, you would, you know, what is his reason for
doing his own comfort.
He wanted to hear. What can I do to invent myself? Why is it that
my ability to memorize is not there anymore?
Look at the answer of his teacher.
Leave and taki maharasi,
you said, my teacher guided me, and he taught me the word. He
said,
stop sinning.
You shouldn't sin.
You're sinning too much. That's why you can't memorize. That's why
you find that you can't you know, gain the knowledge where the Allah
has given you a brilliant ability but stop sinning, achieve advice,
strange advice. If you think about us, but think about myself, I will
never be able to memorize
the way that we sinning is as stuff. Sometimes we do it, you
know, like our God said so beautifully, intentionally or
unintentionally. Sometimes we do it intentionally. We want to harm
a person. We speak ill about that person because we want to do it. I
want to say we see this is what he's doing. He said he's this,
he's that. He's this stuff. And we spread the word, and somehow our
good deeds are being spread from us, and they're just being
transferred over to that person, and Allah protect us. But
this is what we sometimes do. Then we get the unintentional ones. You
know, we stand there and the person speaks ill about somebody
else, and unknowingly, you know, we actually listening to the
person, instead of saying, brother, this is not right. What
we do, you know, we are now, as Allah says, you're
eating the flesh of our other let us not do this. Let us stop. We
don't have the courage to do that today. In the past, it could have
been sick. Oh,
brother, that's what we're doing now. Is a shed to meet a Zina. We
might as well go on Zina in the public. We can do on Zina in the
public. It's better for us to do what we're doing now stop in love.
Look how serious it is to speak about somebody else in a bad way
behind their backs.
It's better for you to commit Sinai, oh, I'm not saying you must
comment, Zina, please. That's what I'm saying. I say this, is this
the importance of abstaining from things like stay away from it.
Because Allah says,
Allah says, and don't even go near the act of adultery. Allah don't
say, stay. Don't do Zeena, Allah say, Don't even
that's how severe it is. So Allah subhanahu wa saying that and Linda
to Ashe, do me. Nazi in the Liba, it is more severe than adult
Subhanallah,
Imam as Shafi, his teacher, tell you, don't send him. You send him
too much. He has sinned. And what did he do? He went back and went
to reflect on his life. And Masha Allah, we know the legacy he left
behind. It obviously worked for him. When you
went to go and reflect, he found what's the issue, what's the
problem with himself, not with others. The first thing we.
We need to find what's the problem with others. No, he did this, and
he say that about me and he and it's all about them, then we did
nothing wrong. Subhanallah, we are the angels of today. Is it not
true? We do nothing wrong. Allah protect us.
We need to acknowledge when we're wrong
and
the most beautiful part of our deen is, if we are Allah, what do
we do? We go to Allah and we seek tahu bah from Allah and
Inshallah, Bayh nah between Abu Asmaa. That is a secret. Nobody
needs to know about it.
But when it comes
by
the creation of Allah subhanahu wa
now I can go and salah the beautiful carpets of Majid al
qumba to the ground,
and they wore unto Mashallah. It's very nice to make Salah in the
carpets of mashupa. We don't want to lift our heads. We'll be in
Sajida. It's too nice. We can do that for years and years and
years, and we did not go seek the forgiveness of our brother of the
creation of Allah, our sister, Wallahi, Allah, will not forgive
us.
That is not the heart of Allah, that is the half of the Imaan of
Allah, that is the heart of the slave of Allah. We need to go to
that person that we harmed, and we need to ask that person
Allah.
May Allah grant us the courage to do that. But let me give advice to
those whom others has harmed.
I mentioned it in, I think, in our class Tuesday night cross, that
the day of qiyama, the person is going to stand there, and he's
going to claim from his brother, you say, Ya Allah, such and such
an individual, Quran, he did this for me, and today he must repay
me.
And the person will come
and mashallah, he will be repaid. How? By taking from the person's
good actions.
And then what will happen if he has no more good actions?
Then the person will say, Ya, Allah, He did not give me my
heart.
You still need to give me more, because this and this and that he
did, and Allah is going to say, but he has nothing good. So much
going to happen now, Ya Allah, He owes me. I need
it. And Allah, Subhanahu wa
Subhan
wa Taal. Subhanahu wa is going to tell you that person that's going
to stand there, and that poor individual is going to have
absolutely nothing. He depleted his good actions. He took all the
bad but he still owes because that was maybe his life.
What did he do? He just kept on eating the flesh of others and
taking from others, and Allah gave him all the actions of Guru Nanak
is being transferred to others. So what happens now?
Now Allah, Subhanahu wa tells the individual, look to your right,
and what would he see? He will see Jannah. Yeah,
see Jannah, to enter Jannah. I mean, he will see Jannah.
And Allah, subhana wa Taala is going to say, are you happy and
pleased with what you see? He said, Ya Allah, is this? He
said, This is Jannah. And he's going to ask ya Allah for who is
this?
Because he's going to be at such a Jannah that you could never have
imagined.
And Allah will respond to Him. That is for the one who shows
mercy to his brother. And if he shows mercy to his brother, he
will take his brother by the hand and enter Jannah. So take the hand
of your brother who wronged you and go to Jannah. And what we do
he will say, Ya Allah, forgive my brother. Then he will take the
hand of his brother in your income. He will in the agenda,
Allah grant us that our name,
we are brothers Jamal,
we are such a brother who connected with La Ilaha, illallah,
Muhammad, Abu Asmaa,
I spoke to my son now, I said, because nothing Wallahi as we go
to the masjid, there is nothing more refreshing and more sweet
than Allah's deem. You
can ask my son, I gave him some advice, mashaAllah, we still try
to speak to our children. Alhamdulillah, some of us, we got
it. Is a different way. Alhamdulillah, we got it. Going to
speak. We gotta go Mashallah. We speak to our children, and we hope
to break through to them. Life is tough for them. Life is tough for
our kids. They only see beautifications of this world. We
need to beautify the akhira for them,
we need to beautify it in such a way that they need to yearn for
the akhira more than the dunya. So what are we doing?
It, we certainly doing something wrong, because our youth are not
yearning for the akhira. Our youth are yearning for the dunya.
They want this dunya. They feel comfortable with this dunya. That
is why knowledge of Deen, of Islam, to pursue knowledge of
Islam, it's imperative. What will this give us it will give us a
voice to speak,
not to mention cotton. You know, no matter the politics, the
politics that's behind in everything but cotton may
responds,
the whole world is reading about Islam. The whole world is watching
Islam. The
whole world asked, what is happening? What transformation is
happening? People in Pater is saying, but Allah was portrayed as
about Islam. What are we here? Now we see it's not like that. Islam
is beautiful. People can say this now because they witnessed it. The
West probably say, Allah. Why did we give
and Islam? Islamic country to host the World Cup.
What is our World Cup? Our World Cup is the day we hire
that ball. Not going to be a ball made of pigs. It's going to be a
golden ball through gold from Jana and your foot is going to be
really doing Ronaldo Golden Boot. You couldn't wear that booth. We
will wear the Golden Boot, and we will keep that for you, Jannah, as
far as we want to, you know, I will put my intention. We put the
phones right in front of me and just put gold in this. You see,
nobody could keep so much golden how many goats I keep today.
Renaldo must proceed. You know, we must make Jannah thinking for the
youth. Speak about Jannah, and what is the best way for us to do
is to educate our kids. And how can we do that? Wallahi, I must
say, Cape Town is a blessed town.
Cape Town is a bliss town.
Cape Town is such a time that knowledge you can find in every
corner, every masjid, there's a revival of Deen in any way. Those
are for a girl. Go to the Masai. Those who are for lectures, go to
the Masai. There's lectures everywhere. MashaAllah, you are
able to educate yourself.
There are institutes today. We find institutes. Can you believe
in the modern sabhas, institutes which propagate Islam, where Islam
can be propagated in the best way. We have qualified teachers all
along that teach at these institutes. Why are we not
supporting the institute?
Wallahi, Alhamdulillah, last week, we had our orientation at the
masjid for our school. Do you know what is the biggest fear of our
parents
in secular education? That's actually I sit here and the people
say, No, I find myself in the home, please. You need to advise
me. I don't know what to do. Me and my wife, we find ourselves
here I went. I said, what is the issue? They said, Allah, we want
our child to read the Quran. We want our child to memorize the
Quran.
We want to be of the parents who will wear the nun the
ground of No, the day of Mawlana. But we find that, how would they
balance? Because they secret education, they will fall to on
that side.
I looked at the parents and I said, What do you fear?
I said, What do you fear for your child? Please tell me,
what did our parents say? What do we think? What did they say? Why
not they will not have a good job?
What why they will not have a good job?
I was stunned.
I couldn't believe my eyes that this is this is our parents.
The Imam taught his day. You can see his day, the struggle? Well,
it's a hard struggle. Why is the struggle so hard for our deen?
We will rather compromise the Quran. We will rather compromise
the study of Deen, but we will put our child to university. There is
no compromise. Well, why? It should be the other way around.
We are in Allah's house. We need to renew our intentions.
Why have we been created?
We've been created to please the West. We've been created to have
beautiful professions.
Who have been created to worship Allah, to know Allah, to follow
the Sunnah of Rasulullah.
What is the purpose of life Jamal to Muslimeen, for a believer, how
can we doubt and struggle with making a decision when it comes to
the Quran?
And because of that, I went back and I spoke to my students, and I
said, Guys,
how do you feel studying the Quran?
You will cry. If you hear the answer,
you will cry. You
know what they said?
I don't actually learn to learn the
Quran can be
a doctor,
because I know when I'm a doctor, I'll have a good job, and I have
good money, and I'm able to do this and that and that.
And I have to keep my I have to keep my emotions because shame.
Look at our children. Look at the how they see the Quran? I looked
at the next one. I asked some of some other similar faces. One
outstanding one would say,
There's nothing better than the Quran. And bring comfort to your
heart, because they said he's got one too in a director. And then I
have to give advice.
I had to tell them that there is nothing connected. No profession
can ever be more greater than you having the Quran in your chest. My
point. Oh, my God, nothing, no provision. This is the best
provision. You know why? Because Rasulullah says people have also
learned the Quran and teach it to others. You teach it to others.
Nothing else can be taken in this book, and they look at me with big
eyes and they say, you know why? Because this book will be the book
that will open up dunya for you.
I'm not saying that don't allow your children to study sacred
education. I'm not saying don't allow the children to become
doctors and lawyers and engineers
and actually a real scientist and whatever the profession is for
gamers,
I can go into
my mommy dad and say, Well, I said gamers as well. Gamers. I mean,
like, you know, we had a nice guy, the messages that the men but
this is a
direction we
need to steal. If we have a provision, it must be used for
deed. Everything must be used to propose, to propagate our league
of Islam, knowledge is power. Knowledge is clean. In the past,
our people used to speak.
Why did they speak? Because they know
they felt confident enough to say today, somebody come to our
children, they ask questions,
they are silent. They don't know how to respond. They don't know
how to speak about their Lord Allah. They don't know Muhammad
Sallallahu.
What a beautiful question. Last night, somebody came to me said,
at the workplace of mine, he accepts everything about Islam. Is
one thing he struggled. He says for the person to say that an
angel came and he gave Waki to me. That's one thing I can't I can't
accept it.
I can't accept it somebody. I mean, I can also say, Today, an
angel came to me and he gave me waking and I'm somebody. Isn't
that true? You can say that. Nobody can say yes or no, it
didn't happen. It did not happen. So how are we going to counter it?
How are we going to explain to the person? How did wahika, why do we
as Muslims believe? How many of us would be able to answer the
question? This is the questions that are being on. Is being asked
by those who are yearning for Islam. They yearn. They want to.
They say, I see, I accept everything, but this is my
deterrent. How am I going to remove that deterrent in order for
him to accept and embrace? How we going to answer this question we
need to ask ourselves, knowledge of Islam is imperative. Let's
change the mindset of our children. Let the Quran be the
first set of guide for our children, not the West.
The West cannot teach our children what is it to be morally for it
living in life the Quran teach us models. The Sunnah teach us
models. We supposed to teach the West morals. This is how you
should develop the waste teaching us and our kids. How can we
entrust others to teach our children models, where the Quran
is our Constitution, where the Sunnah of the prophets of
Allah. Grant us the understanding inshaAllah, the Arab. And I'm
going to end off this.
When
you went then he informed, informed him that Allah,
Subhanahu, WA stop
sinning if you remember, Allah's knowledge is known. Why?
Because the Nur of Allah knowledge will not be given to a sinner. So
we need to abstain from sin
to give el man, and that will be not.
So May Allah guide us to inshaAllah pursued
and change our minds simply when it comes to knowledge Inshallah,
especially the knowledge of Islam, because that will count for us the
Day of Qiyamah. It will count for why. It will be the meanings for
us to answer our questions correctly and to enter paradise
within Allah. Allah guide us Aminah, mister,
that He's outside.
Oh, My god.
