Waseem Hendricks – 4th Muharram 1446.

They did not accept him as being a messenger of Allah,

but Subhanallah, they understood that these four months were four

months that they could not disobey the decree and the will and the

laws of Allah, they would not go into battle with one another when

these months came about, the Quraysh understood that is now the

is now the month of Rajab. We will not have battles in these months.

They even deem it as being sacred. But if we look at society today,

we have a cult this alive today. We have those who want to destroy

religion, those who want to go against Allah, and they think that

they will be at the end of the day, those who will be on top, but

Allah says that I am in control. I am the Lord of the Worlds. I'm the

one that you must fear to return to. And for them, I don't know

what they think we know as believers that we live today, but

tomorrow, definitely, we are going to die and we are going to meet

Allah, and we are going to have to be answerable for every action

that we have committed in this life, what they think Allah knows

best. But Allah has proven to us through the times that has passed,

those who kept themselves brave, those who said an Arab book,

those who call themselves Allah, themselves there to close their

eyes, there to die. And Allah made it such that those one, especially

if your own, in the time of Musa alays, rato Salamu, claimed to be

greater than Allah. Allah says, now we will not let the ground

absorb you. We will use you as an example for those who come after.

Can you imagine Allah use him? He's not buried, he's bombed. He's

laying there. They call him a mummy, right? Subhanallah, a man

that's called a mummy today,

Allah disgraced him, subhanAllah, but he's laying there. And still

we see this, this disgrace that Allah has placed upon a man, a man

like you and I. We see that, but still it does not instill fear in

our hearts for Allah. We don't gain Taqwa through looking at

these signs that Allah plays in front of us. Ya rab jamat,

Muslimeen is the month of Muharram. What my words is for us

today is as the Quraysh understood that we should not be of those who

be disobedient to Allah. They did not believe in Allah, but they

understood we should be of those who understand that we cannot be

disobedient. Be disobedient to Allah more so in these months,

because the good that I am doing will be multiplied, as we

mentioned, and the bad that we are doing will also be multiplied. And

who of us want our bad to be multiplied? So make tawba in this

month. Use it a month to gain closeness to Allah and his rasala.

You know, what did the Prophet, sallAllahu, Sallam do? He fasted

on the ninth and the 10th of Muharram, right? So let us try and

establish that we will fast. Yesterday, I mentioned something.

I said, spend on your family on the 10th of maharam. But I did not

say, eat. Please, brothers, you can't eat during the day. You must

still fast, but at least prepare yourself. Buy the food already for

the night. Buy the toys for the night. Make it a happy occasion.

Remember when you were children? Remember when you were children?

Please, just reminisce. What did your parents do to you? What did

we receive in the masjid? When we go to to the masjid on the 10th of

Mahara, we receive party packs. We receive the bigger hand. Ya Allah,

get five games for spiel.

To book. Everybody said, Remember to book on five book, 20 scenes,

you throw in that game and you can play games. I could play five

games. That was the highlight of our our day. Why? Because He

created me run. Sometimes they were 50 scenes. Mahan Allah,

there's maharam as a bit tough, you know, so Mahan Allah, but we

understood that we could get something, you know. I remember

when we used to enter the masjid, you get your panad with your

abuchi, you know, and there's flair key and your your salads

with it, and your chips with it. That is what we received on the

tent of maharam. And that's what children look forward to. What do

we create for our children to look forward to today? We need to keep

that alive, because the 10th of maharam is great. It is the best

fast after Ramadan. So fast. Show your children that you fast with

them. Show the greatness of this month. Teach them about Allah and

His Rasul assalam. Have stories about this time. Tell them how

your 10th of maharam was. They can also look forward to the 10th of

Muharram, and this is what we need to reestablish in our community,

our traditions in Cape Town, subhanAllah, it is one of the most

amazing traditions now, mashaAllah, I'm doing a lot of

protection for you. And what did the old people do? They made

what to do. How was our being preserved? How would we know that

we must make a land today because of our elders, they did it. But

how did they know? They don't know. Allah told them, because

then ajib Subhanallah, that is, if you have a connection with your

Lord Allah, and Allah will teach you the right things, right when

May Allah allow us that we should always be on the righteous path,

we preserve what we can but tradition plays a big role in the

Rasul as time, there were traditions. Nabi Salima never came

to abolish traditions. Why did he come to abolish? He came to

abolish what is haram, what you can't do, what is unacceptable in

Islam. But the traditions Allah Rasul, Asmaa laudi, you know, for

example, the Abyssinian tribe that came into masjid, Nabawi, no, and

what did they do? They sing the praises and dance and went crazy

in the in the masjid and nabowi and Umar became upset. Ma said, Ya

Rasulullah, stop them and check them out of the Masjid. What did

Rasul and say, no, they're from Africa. This is maybe the culture.

Let them come. Let them do what they are doing. Subhanallah, what

are they saying? It's what the Prophet and what did they say?

They praise you, Ya Muhammad, sallam, Allah. So alhamdulillah.

And then Aisha came and was on the shoulder of Muhammad as he

observed this. So we must also know that certain traditions is

allowed. If it's not allowed, then we must speak out against him. We

must say that he's not allowed. But there are certain things

that's allowed, and that is what makes our deen so beautiful. We in

Cape Town. We have a culture that Masha Allah brings us together

with love and affection, and it only brings us closer to Allah.

Many of us who study Deen today, we went through the process. Some

of us went through the Tablighi process. Some of us went through

the alkal process. Some of us went to the Modi process, but all of

us, where did we end? We ended up studying the deen. We ended up

studying the deen so we have something valuable to treasure,

and Allah allow us understanding of his Deen. Inshallah, why?

Because Allah says that may you read the law be he run

ever. Allah intense. Good for Allah. Grant them the

understanding of Deen. May we be amongst them. This is the month of

haram. Let us not be also on the side whereby we are when on the

extreme side, when others do they sad on the day and they hit

themselves that is haram in Islam. We are not going to harm our

bodies on the 10th of maharam. We are not going to be sad. We are

not going to grieve. We grieve about something that happened in

incident, yes, but we are happy Why the incident happened? Because

today we can stand on Haq and truth. And that is said, ma

Hussain, radula, who passed away on Karbala on the on the 10th of

maharam. But there are other incidents that makes us happy.

Nabi Musa, Alisa to Salam, for example. Nabinu Ali, salatu,

salam, all of these, ambiya that was saved on this day, Allah.

Allah has taught us this through his Nabi Muhammad, through Zambia,

so we must acknowledge the good as well inshaAllah, and that is why

we are in Ummah who is balanced. We are unbalanced ummah. We

understand when to grieve, we understand when to be happy, but

we are not going to be on the extreme side. May Allah grant us

always to be moderate with one another and tolerate one another.

You know, none of us will ever be the same. It's not going to happen

that we think the same, but we can agree, or we can agree to disagree

in a beautiful manner. InshaAllah, and that is the beauty of al Deen.

Did the Prophet Muhammad SAW ever show disrespect to anyone, no

matter who he was or what he was, he always respected the person,

and because of that, people saw the beauty of Islam and Allah has

spread it through the four corners of the world, through Allah and

with character. Ali La Rafa Allah humbles and show humility in front

of Allah. Raised him. Allah allow us to be raised in sha Allah
