Muhammad
I bear witness that Allah is the only
one worthy of worship, and Muhammad sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam His last and final messengers.
My brothers and sisters,
as we enjoy the few days left in
the blessed days of the years,
The 10 days of Dhul Hijjah. As in
Nabi said,
the best days in the year are the
days of Dhul Hijjah.
These are the days which is Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala made an oath with them.
As Ibn Abbas
and others
said, these are the 10 days of Dhul
Hijjah.
And we are coming to the best of
the best,
which is the day of Arafah and the
day of read, 10th,
which is in Nabi
said,
the best day of the year, the best
day of these 10 days which is all
the best of the years basically.
The most greatest day in Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala's sight is the day of Al Nahr,
the day of,
Reedul Abha.
And that day,
one of the best thing to do is
to offer the udhiyah,
to offer the Qurban
to Allah reviving
that
that reviving the practice of Ibrahim alaihis salam.
And since that time, and the muhideen, the
people of Tawhid, the people of Islam
been offering
every year.

The point is that everybody should try their
best to be there. Not to oversleep. I
know Ramban, we don't miss salatul Eid because
we're staying all night. We used to staying
late. But in Eid al Adha so many
times we don't wake up early to pray,
especially in a weekend.
So, with this being said, there are certain
things I want to share with you in
regard to these 2 days.
First,
fasting the day of Arafah. It's highly recommended
for you to fast the day of Arafah.
And Nabi salallahu alayhi wa sallam said, it
will erase the sin of 2 years. This
one and the next one. And that's out
of the because of the amount of reward
that you get from fasting the day of
Arafah. And it's one of the best thing
to do that day is to fast the
day of Arafah. And if you can't fast
for whatever reason,
you are
highly recommended to occupy that day with your
du'a.
A
du'a
in the day of Arafa is not only
restricted to the dua of the people in
the mountain of Arafa, but also Allah accept
the dua of those who are on the
mountain of Arafa
and wherever else they might be.
No doubt that the people standing in Arafa
have way more reward, more acceptance
than anyone else. But everybody else have a
share in dakher, alhamdulillah.
That's why it's recommended for you as the
asr comes. As that's the practice of the
early generations in in Islam. When the asr
comes or Duhr even comes, they will stay
in the Masjid, it, they will pray, and
they will make dua, and they will read
Quran until Maghrib comes. And they occupied that
time with salah and ibadah and dikr Allah
So this is something that I highly recommend
for everybody.
If you're home or you come to the
Masjid or you spend time with your family,
just make sure that you know what, not
all your time following the Euro cup, but
also you spend your time in, you know,
doing what will benefit you in your akhirah.
This is just one day. This is one,
you know, a one day that you should
dedicate that time for the and the dua.

alaihi wa sallam said, the best dua is

And you can pray with whatever you want
from du'a during that day.
This early generation as an aza'i said, they
will wait until the day of Arafah comes
to make the request.
Or if they have done something special and
unique
in their life or in the year, they
will not ask Allah
by that good deeds until the day of
Arafah comes. So let's say you donated a
great amount of money this year or you
have helped someone who really was in great
need or you done something very unique. You
can ask, and said, be Allah, if you
know that I did this for your sake,
do this and this for me. That's part
of the
which is one of the greatest form of
tawasl. It's to seek
what you want through a good deeds that
you offer to Allah
As salaf as al Azzai said, the early
generation from the sahaba and the tabi'een
used to wait until the day of harafah
comes, Then they will present the best of
their deeds. Then they ask Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala after that. For instance, can
Ibn
Umar might free a 100 slaves in the
day of Arafah. Wait for the day of
Arafah. And when he free all those 100
slaves, he said, You Rabbi, I just free
them from slavery. So free me from hellfire,
and free them from hellfire. The people in
the Arafah. So they will use to make
something so unique
on that day. So maybe you think about
what something unique you can do in that
day. So you ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
with it. As long as you're not unique,
you're like bid you come up with something
not in the from the religion. I'm talking

in the religion of Islam and the realm
of the sunnah of the prophet salallahu alayhi

You know, I just don't like the attitude
behind it. You know, as if, you know
what, I can I can as much as
can maximize your your your your buck, you
know? Get more extra,
large for free or you know get a
free extra drink. It's that's not how we
deal with the deen and sharia.
It's a great things to fast 2 days.
To fast the day of arama and another
day to make up the days that you
missed. So I just don't want this attitude
to be exist.
I don't want the attitude of laziness
and the the attitude of aiming low.
We should always be inspired
to aim high, to do more than what
we can. That's why
That's why in Islam, it is highly dislike
to make nether. What's nether?
Nether it say, You Allah,

do this to you.

me, I will fast 1 month.

to be the spirit of us as Muslims.
But if you ask technically,
can I do that?
Debated over this

for one actions. Can I do that or
not? And many of the great scholars of
our time said it's allowed like Sheikh Nashar

or Sheikh Bimbas
said it's allowed for you to combine between

that's number 1. Number 2, a lot of
people also,
asking,
if,
when it comes
to the day of Eid, as you know,
Alhamdulillah, in our city, we don't have this
problem. But maybe it exists in a very
small percentage, but in some other communities,
unfortunately, they're celebrating Eid on Monday
and not on Sunday.
And this is based on them sighting the
moon one day later on.
I'm not gonna go into the fiqh debate
over this. I wish that in a Muslim
country, in a in a non Muslim country
like where we live in here as minority,
we should look for any reason to unify
the Muslims as long as this reason is
permissible in
Islam. You don't understand the debate, the big
debate,
the reasons behind the differences in in Ramadan
which is I don't have an excuse for
it to have 2 community
pray, starting fast or celebrating Eid Ramadan in
the same community 2 different days. There is
no excuse for that. But I think in
Hajj we have more reason
to be unified around the hujat,
around the people standing in Arafa.
Those who will make Eid on Monday.
Are they gonna fast Saturday
as the day of Arafah? And if they
do, what Sunday will look like?
And if you're gonna be fasting
on Sunday, can you claim that you're fasting
Arafa while nobody in Arafa?
Yes. You can. You can say Arafa is
9th and not the day with the standing,
but it's a week. You know, there is
something not comfortable about that.
I understand that a certain country, the whole
entire country make their Eid in one day.
Like for example, in Morocco,
in some country in the,
central Asia,
you know, they do that. But the whole
entire country unified.
But I'm not talking about that. I'm talking
about us as a community here. Why would
we divide? But
if my family members
celebrating or let's say I'm going to Chicago
or going to one of these city where
there is a big community going to celebrate
it on Monday, what should I do, Yesha?
I think you should
not fast on Sunday.
I think you should declare it, read privately
on Sunday
because there is no need for it to
be, you know,
any fasting the day of Eid is haram.
But fasting, ashura is fasting, arafa is recommended.
So you don't fast Sunday and you celebrate
with them on Monday, the Eid. Because Eid
prayer can be prayed in the 1st or
the second day, which is acceptable. And with
this, you will be unified with your family
members, and there is no need to make
it a fiqh debate.
Said those who intend to do UHIA
intended to do UHIA. They should not
cut their hair or their nails.

money.

So but if you do it because you
really don't have enough money or financially you
cannot capable of, you are allowed to do
it outside.
Or do you know there is a crisis
in certain place in certain place and you
know that this crisis required the.
It is good.
There is also a lot of people ask
me or see this advertising of doing

Palestine and things of that nature,
Which is I understand that as well,
which is fine. But I just want you
to know that most likely those organizations what
will do, they will freeze your meat for

possibility for them to bring that meat inside.
And my advice was usually to these organizations
not to offer such things. The people in
raza and Palestine, they don't need your akhya
as much as they need your you can
give from your salatah and make the akhya
in much simpler format.
It immediately can be distributed and giving no,
yeah, any chance of it to go rotten
or to go bad or, you know, to
be something happened in the process. Because of

in any case, you are allowed to give
them and they are responsible for it. Alhamdulillah.
And all the Muslim organization that I know

we trust them. We know that they do

But what about cutting the hair? The prophet
said don't cut your hair
or nails. This is the majority of the
faqaa said it is highly recommended for you
to avoid such things. The Hanabi said no.
The hadith said don't. It means don't. So
it's haram. And they said it's not allowed.
Regardless, you should
avoid cutting the hairs and cutting the nails,
you know. And I think there is a
significance in this which is it it I
know it creates a sense of inconvenient. I

trim my mustache before the 10 days started

between these days and the other days. And

and special. And it's not a hardship that
is gonna cause any problem. That's why, Islamically,
even if you're in a haram, and let's
say you break a nail or there is
a hair coming into your in front in
front of your eyes and causing, like, you
not to be see clearly or anything of
that nature, you're allowed to cut it. Even
if you're on haram, even if it's haram.
That's that's that's fine. You know? Causing harm
for you, that broken nails, you can cut
it. But I'm talking about in general, it's
not a very there's a little bit of
inconvenient,
but it make me always remember that this
of the 10 days. So you know what?
