Can we be a little bit louder?
How many of you here
raise up your hand, if you can understand
my English.
Raise up your hand.
Raise up your hand, sisters and brothers, if
you can't understand my English.
Otherwise, I will speak Bahasa Indonesia.
I'm good at it. So let's
just speak in Bahasa. What do you guys
think?
Bahasa Indonesia or English?
I wish I wish I can speak to
you in Bahasa.
My brothers, my sisters in Islam, my brothers,
my sisters of Bandung.
I am super, super happy, O Allah.
Very happy
that we have made it here
to see our brothers and sisters in this
part of the world. And Jazakumullah
Khayram for attending, Jazakumullah Khayram for the opportunity.
And we ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to
bless your land
and to bring from your descendants Insha Allah,
righteous
believers,
righteous
Muslims who will inherit Jannatul Firdaus. Say, Ameen.
Ameen. Louder. Say, Ameen.
Allahu Akbar.
I chose a topic for you
and I titled it
enslaved.
I entitled
it enslaved.
And I wanted to walk you through the
idea of the topic insha Allah. And I
want you to focus with me,
and
do your very best
if you cannot follow my English.
I believe there are instant subtitles somewhere on
the screens.
So try to follow that.
And
if you have a question
as I speak, raise up your hand. Okay?
Then we'll see what what can be done
inshallah.
Enslavements
enslavements
is of many many types.
There are people
who are enslaved
to gambling.
They like to gamble.
Right?
And believe it or not,
today there is a condition, a mental condition
about gambling addiction.
They are willing. Those people who are addicted
or enslaved
to gambling,
they are willing to sacrifice
everything beautiful in their life
on the hope that they may gain more
later on.
And as a result they end up losing
everything.
There are people
who are enslaved
to shopping.
How many of you here love to shop?
Shopping.
Anyone here, they love to shop online.
Shopping. Shopping. Buying.
You know.
Yes.
They have that obsession
of position.
Obsession
of position. They always wanted to own.
They buy iPhone 5. Next year they want
the iPhone 6, iPhone 17, iPhone 18, iPhone
25.
Endless
wants.
Endless
shopping.
And SubhanAllah those who are addicted or enslaved
to shopping
they end
up buying what they want
and a little while later they lose interest.
They lose interest of that item that they
were crying and saving
to buy it sometimes ago. Now they have
it on their hand, and they are no
longer satisfied.
They want more.
We have people who are enslaved
to their work.
And SubhanAllah. There is a term for it.
Workaholism.
Workaholic.
They call them.
Right? Those people who love to work day
and night whether they are in their offices,
at home, in their vacation. They love to
work work work work work.
They're enslaved
to work. They get promotion. They work more.
They become more busy.
There are people who are enslaved
to
gaming. Anyone here likes to game? Gaming.
Gaming, believe it or not,
because of the excessive usage,
and the lack of
control over your time, over managing yourself,
believe it or not, the World Health Organization
have listed gaming
to be a mental disorder.
Can you believe it?
There are people who are
enslaved to social media.
How many people here on TikTok?
TikTokers?
Where are the TikTokers here?
Facebookers?
Any Facebookers here?
Any Twitters? They call it X now
of all the names in the world.
And instaharam,
I mean Instagram?
Instagram, anyone?
Allah make it easy.
Those people
who can't live without browsing
certain applications
and so on. How many of you here,
I hope you can understand my question. How
many of you here, the first thing you
touch in the morning is your phone?
Some
people are truthful,
some people are liars,
and some they don't understand what I've said.
So I'm not sure which one's you.
So
enslavement.
They are enslaved
by these
desires.
Some people believe it or not
are enslaved
to
inappropriate
imagery,
haram scenes,
haram videos.
And they became so addicted to a point
that they started
losing focus on essentials in their lives. On
the work, on the studies,
on the relationships with their husbands, with the
wives.
Time consuming,
unnecessarily
hours spend browsing video after video
to seek that pleasure. And
as a result, those people who are addicted
and enslaved to these desires,
they end up committing
infidelity,
cheating on their husbands, cheating on their wives.
May
Allah protect us all.
They end up with loads of mental illnesses
like depression,
anxiety
and so many other devastating
results
as a result of this addictive behavior.
There are so many
things in this dunya, my brothers, my sisters
in Islam
that people became addicted to. There are people
who are enslaved to drugs,
to alcohol,
to
critic.
Is it critic? Critic?
Critic.
What is it called?
Gurangram?
Is it the Gurangram?
So you guys recognize Gurangram? Critic they say
it. I don't know. I don't know how
to say that.
All these
items that I just listed
to you my brothers and sisters in stand.
The more you become consumed by them,
the less you become satisfied.
There is no end to that cycle of
wants.
That cycle of
urges, craving.
The more you get the more you want
more.
The more you get more the more you
want even more and more and more. And
as a result you forget
why Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
created you.
You start forgetting why actually you are living
in this dunya.
What is your main purpose
of existence?
You start forgetting this.
And that's why my brothers and sisters in
Islam,
the moment
you enslave yourself to Allah
your Creator
only then you found true happiness.
Only then you find true satisfaction.
Only then you find true contentment.
Even if things became difficult in life.
Wallahi, even if things became difficult.
I'm not sure if you are aware
about myself
but some years ago, 4 or 5 years
ago,
I was struck with
slip disc on my lower back,
And as a result, I was left nearly
paralyzed for over a year on a wheelchair,
surgery,
physiotherapy. I couldn't walk. I couldn't feel my
waist down.
And at that time, I was at the
verge of depression,
anxiety,
anger, mood swinging. Name it.
You Sheikhaal, you you also get angry? Yes.
You also feel depressed? Yes. We are human
beings. Come on.
But the point is
when I realized
that at the end of the day I'm
going to be with Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala
sooner or later. There is one a'an in
the Quran that we all know and we
all recite as soon as we hear bad
news.
When somebody pass away you say what?
We belong to Allah, and to Allah we
shall return. So what is the problem
if part of me preceded me to Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala?
What if I lost something in this dunnid?
Why should I be depressed?
Why should I be angry? So the moment
you enslave yourself with true
enslavement,
Abu Dhaiya,
To Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala only then you
become happy.
Only then you become satisfied
even in the middle of these crisis.
And that's why Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
brought to our attention
this reality.
In every salah
we perform
everyday and every night We have one surah
that if we don't recite our salah became
invalid.
What is this surah?
Al Fatiha.
Within this Surah there is 1 Ayah.
One Ayah which is the main purpose
why Allah created
us. What is this Ayah?
You alone you Allah we worship.
You alone you Allah we enslave ourselves to.
You alone you Allah we ask for help.
You alone You Allah is sufficient for me.
Allahu Akbar.
When that becomes a reality my brothers and
sisters in Islam. Nothing else matters.
Nothing else will pull you away from that
path.
This is the true fulfillment.
And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala told us very
very clearly.
I have not created
spiritual
beings, Jin,
nor human kinds except for one reason and
one reason only. And that is,
to worship Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala.
To enslave yourself to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Your job and my job is to
be slaves to Allah. And what do slaves
do?
What do they do?
They follow. They obey Allah SubhanaHu
Wa Ta'ala.
Allah told us in the Quran.
That they were not commanded
to do anything
except worshiping Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and establishing
the salah.
And paying the prescribed charity
and becoming upright
Worshipping Allah without any partners.
And this is the appropriate
the most upright religion.
Which
means my brothers, my sisters in Islam
that there is a system for us to
follow.
There is a way of life
that if we follow through
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will guided us will
guide us to that which is beautiful Jannatul
Firdaus inshallah wata'ala.
That system is called what?
Islam.
What is it called? Islam.
And Allah told us what?
The religion,
the way of
life in the side of Allah is nothing
but Islam.
And then Allah told us something else.
That whosoever
desire
other way of lives,
other religion,
other than Islam it will not be accepted
of him. And on the day of judgement
such a person
will be a loser.
And then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala make it
a command.
He made it an
order upon you and I.
Oh you who believe.
Enter into Islam wholeheartedly.
Not 50%.
Not 20%.
Not 85%.
Not 99.9999
99%
enter into Islam. How many percent?
100%.
That's what Allah requires of you, my brothers,
my sisters in Islam.
And out of love, out of compassion for
us, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala send us a
prophet after a prophet, A messenger after a
messenger.
How many of them? The prophet sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam told us that there has been
124,000
prophets and messengers
went throughout the nations
to invite people to that way of life
to Islam to worship
that we have sent in every nation a
messenger
telling the people worship Allah,
be a slave to Allah
and stay away
from any other gods.
Stay away from any other enslavement.
Don't be a slave to your cigarette.
Don't be a slave to your t v.
Don't be a slave to your social media.
Don't be a slave to inappropriate
imagery on the internet.
Don't be a slave to chatting with the
opposite gender.
Don't be a slave to haram relationship.
Rather be a slave to Allah
by obeying him.
That's Islam.
My brothers, my sisters in Islam.
And then Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala told us
also.
That the Quran,
the manual,
the instruction
for the believers was sent in truth and
by the truth by Allah.
And you Muhammad Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam, the final messenger
were sent to them as a bringer of
good news.
Good news to those who follow him.
Good news to those who obey Allah and
his messenger
and a warner.
The messenger of Allah is a bringer of
good news but he's also a warner for
those who disobey.
So
this is what I wanted to highlight my
brothers and sisters in Islam.
Is that this is the only chance for
you
to attain the ultimate
reward
after you pass away from this dunya. And
that is Jannah.
Your only chance
is this path.
Your only chance is Islam. SubhanAllah.
And then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala told us
in the Quran.
This day I have perfected
Allahu Akbar. Your religion for you.
Completed my favor upon you and chosen Islam
for you to be your way of life.
That's the way of life that Allah decided
for you and I, For our own good.
Islam doesn't
really care
about what you think,
what you feel,
what you like.
If it goes against his commands
there is no way I will follow my
desire. That is Islam.
And in this ayah Allah is saying that
Islam is the only blessing,
the only favor that he bestowed on us.
SubhanAllah.
Didn't Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala say?
That
if you were to count
the blessings of Allah on you you will
never be able to number them.
So how come in one place
Allah is saying the blessings of Allah is
plenty.
And on another occasion, Allah singled out Islam
as the only favor.
Because if you have Islam in your heart,
if you have Islam in your life,
wallahi
it is sufficient for you.
Alhamdulillahi,
allahniamatil
Islam.
All praise due to Allah for the blessings
of Islam. And wallahi
it is a sufficient
as a blessing.
It is a sufficient
as a blessing.
But also
why Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala singled out Islam
as the only favor because all other favors,
your health, your wealth, your children, your positions,
your iPhones, your Samsung, whatever you're holding, whatever
you own. All of these blessings
are bound to perish.
When you go to your grave, you're not
taking with you
your latest hijab,
or or your latest jeans, or your latest
tobe, or whatever else you own and like.
You will take only Islam with you.
You will only take your iman with you,
or the lack thereof.
Or maybe you don't have iman. Maybe you
don't have Islam. That's why the first three
questions
you will be asked about in your grave
is what? Who is your Lord?
Not what's your latest
TV
or latest TV show that you have watched
yesterday.
Or why Ahmad love Khadija and why Khadija
love Ahmad.
Allah is not interested in those stories. Who
is your Lord?
What is your religion?
And who is this man who has sent
to you
to teach you about Islam?
Allah is my Lord. Islam is my religion
and Muhammad Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam is my prophet. These
are the answers.
So my brother my brothers and sisters in
Islam, may Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala accept from
all of us. If you look at it,
I want you to visualize this. How many
of you have heard of Ibrahim alaihis salam?
Raise up your hand.
Ibrahim alaihis salam the prophet of Allah.
Ibrahim alaihis salam had a father.
Was his father Muslim or non Muslim?
Non Muslim.
Did he die as a Muslim or non
Muslim?
He died as a non Muslim. Yet Allah
chose you to be Muslims.
Ibrahim we are talking about the friend of
Allah kaleerullah Ibrahim alaihis salam.
It was so simple.
So easy for Allah to open the heart
of Ibrahim's father to Islam. True? But Allah
wanted to test his own Prophet.
By telling him that when it comes to
Islam, when it comes to Iman is an
individual
duty.
It's your own responsibility.
The wife
of Nuh, the wife of Lut,
the son of Nuh Harai Salam. The relatives
of the prophets died as non muslims.
Yet Allah made you muslims.
Feel that honor.
Don't act like the mushrikeen of Makkah.
Don't act like the people who rejected
the messenger of Allah Muhammad Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam.
I will end with this thought Insha Allah.
Allah mentioned in the Quran,
Allah
That if you were to ask them who?
The Mushrikeen of Makkah.
Who created the heavens and the earth?
If you ask them who created the heavens
and the earth? What will they say? Allah.
They will say Allah is the creator.
So why
Allah
send them to * fire? Think about it.
Think about it.
If the mushrikeen in Mecca accepted
Allah as their creator,
why they are bound to be in *
fire?
Aren't they now believers?
Wait, wait, wait. How about Shaitan?
Do you know Shaitan?
Can you look in your pockets and purses
if you have shaitan in your bags?
You don't have shaitan in your bags? Alhamdulillah.
Anyone knows shaitan? Yeah? Everybody knows shaitan?
Shaitan told Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala as recorded
in the Quran
about Adam alaihis salam
You created me from fire
and you created him from mud, from sand.
So what does that mean? It means that
Shaitan
acknowledged
Allah as his creator. True or false?
So why Shaitan is a bad the bad
guy?
Why Shaitan is a bad guy? Why the
mushrikeen in Makkah were the bad guys? They
all believe that Allah is their creator.
You believe that Allah created you. Right? So
what's the difference between you and them?
Shall I tell you? Do you want the
answer or shall I go? You want the
answer?
The difference is one word
that I wanna leave from here
and leave it in your memories.
I want you to remember this more than
anything else I said in this talk.
The difference between them
and us, my brothers, my sisters in Islam
is
obedience.
Obedience
to anything
and everything that Allah mentioned in the Quran
and taught through the prophet sallallahu
alaihi wasall.
Once you say no,
it means that you are like them.
Forgive me. I'm just very frank. I talk
my heart out. But this is a reality.
If you said, I believe in Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala as my Lord. Okay. Pray 5
times a day. Wake up for fajr.
Leave haram relationship, quit smoking, quit drugs, don't
cheat on your spouse, don't watch inappropriate. And
you say, No, No. No. No. I like.
I feel. I think. I guess. I believe.
Then you are in that category.
There is a difference between Illah
and Rub.
In our shahada we don't say La Rabba
Illallah. What do we say? We say La
Illaha
illallah. Because
is
the creator, the sustainer,
the maintainer.
And this is something that Allah does to
the believers
or to the non muslims as well. He
provide for them. He send rain to us.
He send rain to them too.
But Allaah
is to be obeyed.
Ilah
is to be worship.
And I agree with you. Sometimes
things don't make sense, right?
I'll give you an example.
How many of you have heard that the
Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
have prohibited
a certain haircut?
Anyone?
Okay. Come here. Come here. Come here. Come
here. Come here. Come here. Bandung brother. Come.
You. You. You. Come. Come.
Little bit of English is fine. Don't worry.
So you know that the Prophet
prohibited
certain haircut.
For me,
I don't have hair.
So I don't have to worry about this.
Right? Yes.
Can you explain to them in Bahasa,
what was that haircut?
Can you explain in English so I can
confirm? So the
the middle part
of the hair is,
still It's on? It's on, but The side
is cut. It's cut. Bravo.
Tagbir.
Okay.
So the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, he said
that there is one
haircut
and he named it Al Qaza. He named
it what? Al Qaza.
He said it's haram. It's wrong. Don't do
it.
So the people asked the Prophet what is
Al Qaza?
He even didn't know this word. What is
Al Qaza? He said to cut part of
your hair and to leave the rest. Like
the brother explained, you know,
the mushroom haircut. I call it the mushroom
haircut.
Yes.
Now, you may wonder why.
Right or wrong? Why is it so haram?
Why is it? The prophet sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam said that a time will come where
there were ladies.
You know.
Women will be dressing up yet
appear as new
And he mentioned that on the top of
their head. Their head will look like the
camel's hump.
They will not enter Jannah and they will
never smell its fragrance
even if it comes, you know, it covers
big long years of distance.
That's what Allah, Allah's messenger said. The man
that you said, Ashhadu Ana Muhammadan
Rasulullah.
Didn't you say that?
Did you say I believe that Muhammad is
the messenger of Allah? So follow him.
But why? Convince me. Explain.
Why?
Why? I'm not convinced. I don't believe. This
is not
Come on. My brothers, my sisters in Islam,
obedience
to Allah and his messenger will make the
difference
between us and the mushriks,
between us and the disbelievers,
between us and shaitan who disobeyed Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
So don't act like them
but rather obey and follow. Just like Umar
wala going to the black stone
in the Kaaba,
and he looked at the black stone
and he talked to the black stone. Can
you imagine?
And he said to the stone, I know
you are a stone.
I know you cannot harm
and you cannot benefit.
But had I not seen the prophet salallahu
alaihi wasallam kissing you, I would have never
kissed you. And then
he kissed the black stone.
So there was no need for a reason
to obey the messenger of Allah because we
have full faith
that he came from high. And any action
that he does, any command that he gave
the believers
is from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. If the
prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam found that these
matters
which are by the way few as compared
to everything else that is explained
in Islam. If he found that it is
beneficial, it has value
for you to understand the wisdom behind it,
he would have explained it. But he left
them for you as a test for submission,
which is the real meaning of Islam. To
submit your will to the will of Almighty
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. My time finished so
quickly
or it will finish in 40 seconds.
How many of you here have understood
what I said? Raise up your hand.
Okay.
How many of those who understand
can promise me that
you will share what you understand with someone
else who did not understand?
Promise me. Now promise
is a promise.
Raise up your hand if you promise, insha'Allah,
to share what you understand with others.
Only 3 people in Indonesia.
Barakallahu
fiqum, my brothers and my sisters in Islam.
Insha'Allah,
we will meet again
after the lectures of doctor Muhammad Salah and
Mufti Mink for a
sofa discussion, they call it. Sofa discussion.
We shall meet again inshallah.
