the second group. On the outward they show Iman, they say that they believe but in their hearts they

here that are talking about this third category. And this is the category of the hypocrites, those
who pretend that they believe, but they don't actually believe and people are off three kinds.
		

			Either they are believers or they are disbelievers, or they are pretenders and these pretenders the

well. So these people are not truly believers, because they don't do the actions of iman or they are

who claims that they believe is not necessarily a believer, not everyone who testifies to the

don't know the state of people's hearts, we're not supposed to judge or assume, regarding the hearts
of people that you know, they don't actually have faith. So why is this being mentioned over here?
		

			This has been mentioned over here for two reasons. First of all, so that we introspect, we reflect
on ourselves on our condition, that when I say something, do I actually mean it? Or is there a
discrepancy between what I say and what I feel, what I show and how I truly am, what I show in front
of people, and how I am in private. So this is for the purpose of introspection. Secondly, this is
also as a warning, meaning the believers are being made aware against deceptive attitudes of people,
that there are those who come and say things to you on your face, but they're not actually sincere.
So you should be aware, you should be careful about such people. You see when the Prophet sallallahu
		

			alayhi wasallam migrated to Medina. Initially, all the people of Medina did not embrace Islam. Many
did, but everyone did not especially the people who are wealthy, the people who were of status and

him, that we will bring our witnesses against you. And the man will think in his mind that who can
testify against me. So that person's mouth will be sealed, he will not be able to speak on that day,
his mouth will be sealed, and his body will be made to speak. So his legs, his skin, his bones,
Allahu Akbar, they will testify against him. And in the Hadith, it has mentioned that that person
will be a hypocrite and Allah will be angry with him. So a person can pretend all they want in this

see, when a person lies to himself, when a person deceives himself when a person refuses to admit
what's going to happen, they're only going to get deeper in their problem. One crime is going to
lead to another which is going to lead to another which is going to lead to another. So Allah is not
wronging them, Allah is not being unfair to them. No, this is the path that they've chosen for
themselves. So Allah lets them go on that path. And this is a very important rule that we should
		

			remember. When a person seeks guidance, their increased in guidance. When a person tries to be
patient, Allah gives them patience. When a person strives in the way of Allah, Allah subhanaw taala
helps them and when a person does wrong, then one wrong leads to another. In surah, two lane we

You see, wrong desires are supposed to be tamed. doubts are supposed to be countered, you're
supposed to remove them. And if you don't remove them, if you don't control your desires, then
what's going to happen? It's going to get worse over time. So, this teaches us a very important
lesson, that the moment you recognize something wrong in yourself, stop it right there, pull it out

taala for strength, ask Allah subhanaw taala to give you the ability to leave it, but the first step
