Ramadan
Mubarak, Alhamdulillah,
by the father of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala has
allowed us once again to enter into this
blessed
month of Ramadan.
We pray to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala for
ease and acceptance.
Extremely,
extremely grateful for this year's Ramadan.
We as we enter into this month,
last year was a very, very interesting and
very, very unique year for us as Muslims
around the world and here at home.
But this year, insha'Allah, we are hoping that
some of that will change. While
all of us may not be able to
go to the Masjid everyday,
we are still grateful to Allah that the
Masjid is open and we will be able
to go insha'Allah.
I'm reminded
of the famous,
you know, du'a of the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam when he would see the Hilal of
Rojab. Right? Allahumabari kranafi rojaba wa shaban wa
balirna Ramadan. The prophet Alaihi Wasallahu Alaihi Wasallam
started making du'a
to come into Ramadan
2 months before.
Right? 2 months before.
And then he would not only make this
du'a and continue this du'a, as the month
of Sha'aban would begin,
he was so eager to make Ibadah and
worship, and the greatest act of Ibadah and
worship, that of fasting,
that the Prophet started
fasting in the month of Sha'aban.
And then, of course, you know, we come,
to the month of Ramadan. The month of
Ramadan is a month of mercy. The month
of Ramadan is a month of blessings. The
month of Ramadan is a month
that reminds us of the taqwa of Allah,
consciousness of Allah, fear of Allah, love of
Allah
which is why
even those people
that may be doing things that they shouldn't
be doing,
right,
even those things they try to get done
with them
before Ramadan begins
because
they don't want to do them in Ramadan.
And that's a sign for their love of
Allah, their love for Allah
their reverence and love for the month of
Ramadan, and their desire to be on their
best behavior during the month of Ramadan.
So, we pray to Allah that this month
is one filled with blessings for us. As
we cite the crescent,
of the month of Ramadan, there's a, you
know, there's a dua that the Prophet sallallahu
alaihi wasallam would make Ubada ibn Samikh radiAllahu
anhu narrates and he says that the Prophet
Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam
upon sighting the crescent of Ramadan would say
Allahummasalimni
liramamadhan
wa salim Ramadanali
wa salim huli mutaqabbala
Right? Oh Allah, preserve me for Ramadan
safeguard
and preserve Ramadan
for me and accept it from me Right?
So this is one of those things what
we want to keep in mind and then
there's another hadith of the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam where the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam reminds
us,
Right? The first 10 days are days of
the mercy of Allah,
the middle 10 days are days of seeking
forgiveness from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, and the
last 10 days are seeking protection
from the hellfire.
So, let us make this month of Ramadan,
one filled with blessings. I know so many
people
have continued to say that last year's Ramadan,
despite
all that we weren't able to do was,
you know, one of their best Ramadans.
You know, people were able to be at
home, were able to, you know, manage and
maintain a schedule, be with family, and so
on and so forth. But let's not forget
that whatever we are able to do is
from Allah,
and whatever we may be unable to do,
not from our obligations, but from our voluntary
actions, then that is also from Allah
What we fail to realize at times that
if someone is driving to work,
driving back from work,
right, Insha'Allah, as Muslims, we intend and we
anticipate that even that is
in reward
because we are we are traveling towards
a halal sustenance.
We are returning back to our families after
having earned a halal sustenance.
So in in really it's all about the
intention in everything
that we do we find that it is,
you know, we are being rewarded from Allah
So once again this will definitely be
a unique Ramadan
and will be a Ramadan in which, you
know, we may not be able to go
to the Masjid everyday but we hope and
pray to Allah
that it's a blessed one. So with that
said, you know, once again, Ramadan Mubarak to
all of you,
your families wherever you are,
and, you know, we pray to Allah
for acceptance,
and let us, ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
make this a month of du'a, make this
a month of rebada, make this make this
a month of love, compassion,
and make this a month which is counted
in the court of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
with the anticipation
insha'Allah that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala has nothing
but his mercy destined for every single one
of us.
