We continue
our journey through the month of Ramadan. We
pray to Allah
to continue to bless us.
While there's other things I want to share,
since we are still at the beginning of
Ramadan, there's this very lengthy hadith narrated by
Salman al Farsi radiAllahu an from the prophet
Sallallahu alaihi wasallam. And I want to share
some portions of that. It's a very lengthy
Hadith. While some have mentioned that it is
a week or daith
Hadith, in reality, we are reminded that in
terms of merits,
fada'il, it is okay to accept,
the week a Hadith as well.
There's Salman al Farasih radiAllahu anhu says that
when it was the final night of Sharban,
the prophet Sallallahu alaihi wasallam gave a sermon
and in the sermon he said, and then
he continues,
and I'm gonna share about 3 to 4
things from that sermon. The Nabi, alayhis salatu
wasalam said, oh, people,
the month of Ramadan has come with its
mercies,
blessings, and forgiveness.
Allah has decreed
this month to be the best
of all months.
Its days are the best amongst the days,
its nights are the best amongst the nights,
and the hours are best amongst the hours.
This is a month in which you have
been invited by Allah to fast and pray.
Allah has honored you in it. In every
breath you take, there is a reward.
And why? Because we're in a state of
and worship.
Your sleep is worship. Your good deeds are
accepted, and your duas, your invocations are answered.
Therefore,
invoke your Lord
in earnestness
with hearts free from sin and evil.
Right? And isn't this what we do? Right?
As the month of Ramadan begins, even, you
know, those amongst the ummah who may be
doing certain things wrong, stop.
That's a sign of their love for Allah,
their love for the deen. Right? That's their
taqwa.
And the Nabi
continues and says, and pray that Allah may
help you keep fast
and recite the holy Quran.
Indeed, miserable is the one who is deprived
of Allah's forgiveness in this month. Reminds us
of the other hadith of the Nabi, alayhis
salatu wassalam, where he was climbing the pulpit
and Jibrael came, alayhis salatu wassalam, to him
and, you know, the prophet, alayhis salatu wassalam,
was made to say ameen to a dua
that Jibrael made, you know, against those individuals
who he said that, you know, find the
month of Ramadan and they have not been
forgiven. Right? So forgiveness is a big thing
during this month. Now I'm going to skip
a few portions, and he continues. He says,
O people, you have made your conscience the
slave of your desires. Make it free by
invoking Allah for forgiveness.
Your back may break from the heavy loads
of your sins.
So prostrate yourself before Allah for long intervals
and make this load lighter.
So even when we pray the Farduk prayer,
Fajr Duhur Asar Maghrib Aisha, make the sajdah
a little longer.
Right? Be in there. Make instead of saying
that this be 3 times, maybe say it
5 times. I'm not asking you to do
7 or 9.
Just do it 3 times, but do it
with love. Do it with compassion.
Right? Do it nice and slow.
Right? Lighten the load, and then Rabbi alayhi
salatu says.
Understand fully that Allah has promised in his
honor and majesty that people who perform salat
and sajdah will be guarded from the hellfire
on the day of judgment. May Allah protect
us all. And then there's Allah. He continues
and then towards the end he says,
whoever whoever offers recommended prayers during this month,
you know,
before fajr there's 2 sunnah, before duhr there's
4 sunnah, after duhr there's 2 sunnah,
There's a 4 sunnah according to some ahadith
before Asl as well. 2 sunnah after Maghrib.
Right? 2 sunnah after Isha. In fact, those
12 rakas,
2 before Fajr, 4 before Duhr, 2 after
Duhr, 2 after Maghrib, and 2 after Isha.
That's 12. The Nabi alayhi salatu wa salam
says, Whoever prays 12 rakats in a day,
Allah will build for them a house in
paradise.
Right? Not like 1 house every day.
Those are all in a sense not obligatory
prayers, voluntary prayers, of course, a higher higher
degree of it being voluntary. They're referred to
as a sunnah mu'akada, but the Nabi alayhi
salatu wa sallam says, whoever offers the recommended
prayers during this month, Allah will save him
from *, And whoever offers and according to
one narration will get the reward of an
obligatory prayer. And then he continues and says,
whoever
observes his obligations
during this month, in other words, fulfills the
obligatory prayers, their reward will be 70 times
the reward during other months. Right? So for
fajr, times 70. Fuhr, times 70. Asr, times
70. Maghrib, times 70. Risha, times 70. And
then if you do it in congregation, congregational
reward is already times 27 to begin with.
So do the math. 27
times 70. Right? Our reward is massive
with Allah
And then he continues and says,
whoever repeatedly invokes Allah's blessings on me, salawat.
Salawat and then rabbi alayhis salaam
Allah will keep his scale of good deeds
heavy while the scales of others will be
tending to lightness.
Right? Whoever
recites during this month a single verse of
the Quran will get the reward of reciting
the Quran in other months. Right? The whole
Quran in other months.
So increase in our tilawa to Allah
as well. We pray to Allah for goodness,
and blessings, and reward, and acceptance, insha'Allah. BarakAllahu
fikum. Assalamu alaykum Warahmatullahi.
