Oh, wow.
That's a great
start. To our final day.
To
everyone.
Welcome back to Ramadan 360 with Al Maghrib
Institute.
This is sister Hafsa, your host for the
final time during this blessed month,
bringing you into our 30th session
of Ramadan 360
2024
living by the book. Our topic today is
steadfastness.
We're gonna be joined inshallah with our instructors
soon. But before we are, I do wanna
shout out, of course, Ramadan 360 has been
an
institute experience going on for 4 years running.
Alhamdulillah. I've had the privilege and the honor
of being your host and been joined by
some amazing cohosts for the past 4 years.
Our goal has always been for the last
22 years
to make Islamic knowledge easy and accessible and
to provide you with authentic knowledge that's, you
know, relatable, that's that's implementable, that's practical with
instructors that, Alhamdulillah, I hope that you have
seen who are funny, who are engaging, who
are incredibly deep and spiritual and thoughtful and
who take us to another,
incredibly deep and spiritual and thoughtful and who
take us to another,
level, and
it's been such an honor to do that
once again with you all. It has been
such such a a beautiful month, such a
special month, and, actually, that always reminds me,
please do join me on screen and, shall
I? I miss seeing everyone's lovely faces,
connecting with you guys, seeing you guys, you
know, virtually in the chat, and then catching
up sometimes with you guys in person after
the fact. It has been the greatest honor.
Lovely to see Raghad, Bill Keys, brother Ahmed,
Hassan,
our loyals
on screen. Shout out to anybody who's been
able to make it on screen. I know
a lot of folks,
it has to be mentioned they're already celebrating
Eid, especially our Singapore and Malaysia folks. It's
been a few hours
to your Eid celebration. So,
Eid Mubarak to all of you. And to
those of you who are
wrapping up these final moments of Ramadan, just
a reminder to yourself and myself as well
to maximize these moments. It's very easy to
get into EidPrep a little bit early and
try to make sure that we have everything
ironed and go out shopping and all that
kind of stuff. But as long as you
have a few minutes before,
Maghrib kicking in for your final day, just
remember to make sure that you do your,
adkar, that you do your final duas, that
you do if you can go to the
masjid to spend a little bit time at
the masjid before Maghrib so that you can,
you know, say your say your farewell to
Ramadan in the best way and with Hassan
just as well just as much as you've
been putting that effort in and that energy
in throughout this entire month.
It goes what without saying. We're so grateful
to our amazing sponsors and partners,
this month in Ramadan 360 who have, been
making this experience possible and who've also been
doing some of the most difficult work on
the ground in all corners of the world,
especially in in in the areas that most
need in Palestine and Sudan and Yemen and
others. So please do continue to support them
generously. One last time, our our USA partner
is HHRD.
And in Canada, we have Islamic Relief. In
the UK, we have forgotten women. Jazakam Lahir
for making their Ramadan,
powerful and impactful, giving them that that that
ability to help those in need inshallah. And
please continue to keep them in your du'as
and keep supporting them throughout the rest of
the year as well inshallah.
And of course, shout out to all of
you for helping us, masha'Allah, continue this da'wah,
continue this journey for others,
by smashing
our goals out of the park, alhamdulillah, through
Amalgir's. I know you guys used to hear
that, the give daily plug, then the last
10 nights at amalgir.org/
donate. All of that comes together to help
us continue this dawah, to continue this this
sadaqa jariyah for you all and make this
part of your legacy as well. So, Alhamdulillah,
we are now sitting,
formally at 333.
And we're almost to our goal,
that we we extend our goal whenever we
have another project that's possible to find, Alhamdulillah.
And many of you have been so, so
generous. So if you wanna incorporate in these
final few minutes and hours that you have
left depending on your time zone, please continue
to give. There's so much good that comes
out of it. And this Ramadan 360, the
past few years of projects that we've been
able to put out have all been due
to your support.
Even something as as simple as the the
YouTube series. There's a lot of time and
energy and investment that goes into making those
series possible year after year. You guys have
given us so much amazing feedback and love
for that series, but it was because of
you that it was made possible. And Insha'Allah,
those of you who are supported now are
insha'Allah gonna make the next year's YouTube series
possible. And we can't wait insha'Allah to be
able to present you with that. There's so
many important reminders and so much coming up
inshallah today, so I don't wanna take too
much time in the intro. Do wanna give
us a chance to jump into the session,
with Sheikh Salaman Hani. Of course, we're gonna
have our Quran reflect after that with Usaddah
Zaimia Zubair, and then we're gonna have a
final kahu where you guys get a chance
to try one last time to win the
amazing prize of the Almagrib all access pass
that gives you access to all of our
virtual
live, on-site,
online faith essentials experiences for the remainder of
2024. So we're gonna give that one final
go inshallah at the end of the day
today, but I see that Sheikh Salaman Hani,
our director of academic affairs, the instructor that
has kicked us off our experience in Ramadan,
who you've been benefiting from for the nightly
duas the past few nights
as well is back with us to end
the month strong. Welcome back, Sheikh Salaman Hani.
How are you doing?
And, of course, may Allah reward all of
those who are still with us today and
have been consistent throughout the month of Ramadan.
May Allah accept from all of you for
your dedication.
For those of you who are celebrating a
Eid already, may Allah accept from you. And
of course, an earlier Eid Mubarak,
to all of those who are not there
yet, may Allah
allow us to experience whatever we can of
a Ibadah, of sweetness in this life for
having completed acts of worship while of course
keeping in mind our brothers and sisters who
are suffering and advocating on their behalf
Bringing down relief and justice,
and divine support. I'm
gonna get started.
This topic is actually going to be very
different. Today's the last day, so it has
to be very, very different. And I don't
mean just in terms of the content.
First of all, officially welcome to our last
Ramadan 360 session in terms of the content.
We still have this session
is afterwards. I assume that's still on
as is. And while Ramadan is ending and
we bid farewell and those who have ended
already, it is always bittersweet.
It is a month of opportunities, a reminder
of how quick life is, not just in
Ramadan.
And it's sweet because Allah gave us the
opportunity to worship. It's sweet because we had
the opportunity to learn more, to pray more,
to work together, to strive, to make dua,
to connect,
whether with a family, community, and others. May
Allah accept to connect with our brothers and
sisters in Palestine and Sudan and around the
world to connect as an.
But there is a small twist
to today's session,
and I will mention this shortly.
But before I get to the twist, I
wanna ask a question. This is not the
trivia question in which you will get I
don't know what prize. I just heard you
guys are playing some kind of game.
No. No. This is a trivia question. It's
going to test the memory of those who
have watched at least at least one session
from all of Ramadan 360. You had 30
days to do this, so I hope today
is not your first day. But if it
is, welcome on the last day. Okay. So
what are some of the topics you guys
covered without looking at the list? What are
some of the topics you covered in the
last 30 days?
Let's see the chat.
Sincerity, gratitude, submission, ambition, humility,
justice, taqwa, wisdom,
modesty,
zud,
self accountability, muhasaba, fear, love, and hope, generosity,
trust,
tawakkul,
ihsan,
advice,
Masha'Allah.
Leadership. May Allah accept from all of you
and reward you.
Excellent. Courage.
Not to be attached to this world. Excellent.
So
here's why I'm asking you this question.
Your responses in the chat
are the answer to the question that we
will ask later today,
all of these responses.
Every single topic prior to today. Today, we
are covering
steadfastness. How do I remain firm? It's one
of the most commonly asked questions in the
entire world for all the imams and the
scholars and the teachers and institutes. How do
I remain consistent? How do I keep going?
How do I avoid giving up? How do
I avoid burning out? End of Ramadan, every
single year, the questions are the same. And
in to Shawan, how do I keep myself
consistent for the rest of the year doing
good things? And the answer
to that question is all of the responses
you all just gave. The the program was
designed in a very specific way, literally from
day 1, from the topic of sincerity to
this final moment in which we are talking
about
because with it, when you talk about its
beautification, you'll notice what it's intertwined with every
other trait that you take from the Quran
to live by. So as we strive
with all these topics that hopefully you covered,
if not all of them, you always have
a chance to go back and review
the recordings. But there there are two reasons
this program was designed this way, this particular
curriculum, ending on the note
of. The first is because many people ask,
how do I remain steadfast? The answer is
the last 29 days in a way has
answered it, but we'll answer some more.
And the second is because it's the end
of Ramadan.
So what do we need to move forward
with for the rest of the year? How
do we remain in a state of worship
and consistency? And so
the flow of the program, there is a
logical flow to it, has led us to
this place right now where we're going to
talk about the very first story I shared.
And some of you may have no idea
what I'm talking about if you weren't there,
and some of you may remember as I
start to share the story, the prophet Muhammad
sallallahu alaihi wa sallam at the end of
his life started to give advice
during his first and only Hajj. He gave
many pieces of advice that we take as
the farewell sermon, and he conveyed the truth
from Allah. And he told them, did I
convey the message? They said, you conveyed the
message, and the message essentially is how to
live by the Quran,
how to take the words of Allah and
live by the book of Allah, and that
was reflected throughout his throughout his life, and
then he left this world a few months
after that. The prophet
completed his mission.
As Allah promised, the Quran is preserved
through the generations it finally reaches you. You
are here now, and you have this chance
with a limited time on earth, limited time
for your soul to do everything you can
possibly do to live by the Quran,
to really live by it with the hopes
that if you live by it, you will
die upon it, and it will testify for
you and intercede for you and be a
light for you in the grave and on
the day of judgment, and it will be
a reason that you enter Jannah for the
one who puts the Quran in front of
him. It will lead him to paradise as
the prophet said sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. And
the one who abandons the Quran, meaning they
turn their back to it's behind them. They've
turned away from its rulings, its recitation,
its practice, its study, its tafsir, its tadabur.
They've neglected the Quran. There it will be
a reason they are pulled into the hellfire,
may Allah protect us all. So the Quran
reaches us, and now we have a responsibility.
The responsibility is the topic of today, and
it is the topic of istiqaama.
We literally pray for it every single day,
and it is from the Quran as well.
What du'a do we make for every single
day?
What du'a do we make for
steadfastness
every single day?
Who can tell us in the chat? In
When you say
guide us along the straight path, we are
saying, you Allah, keep me guided. You're already
Muslim. Keep me guided. Keep me strong. Keep
me firm. Grant me tabaat, a type of
steadfastness.
It is from Allah's mercy that he gave
us Surah Al Fatiha.
It is from Allah's mercy that he prescribed
it, a requirement for every single salah. And
sometimes people read it not realizing it. You
can read it. You can recite it, and
you can read it millions of times. And
you don't get bored of Surat Al Fatiha.
In fact, not only do you not get
bored of Al Fatiha,
you recognize its need in terms of the
dua.
Keep us guided along this path, oh Allah.
It's a daily reminder
of where we came from, why we exist,
and where we are headed. Allah is the
merciful, and he is the king of the
day of judgment. So when you say
you're calling upon the one that you will
face shortly,
you're calling upon the one who controls
and the word is linked to and.
And in fact, let's get to the root
of this topic. Let's get to the root
of this word. Our topic today
is loosely translated
as steadfastness,
to be firm. And I'm going to just
dive into a little bit of tafsir here
because it will help us
and I know you will likely hear more
about this later with Ustad Ataimia. But the
word is
and.
They come from the same root, and the
root, the trilateral
root of this word is,
and
These three letters,
they occur
in different forms, over 20 different forms in
the Quran. They occur 660
times in the Quran. So it's a very
common root. And, of course, some of you
are thinking of examples,
is one of them. 37 times
the straight path. You think of
the day of resurrection, the day of standing.
You're standing before Allah 70 times in the
Quran. You think from the beginning, you recite,
Surah Al Baqarah, and what do you find?
So when you talk about these examples
you're talking about those who establish prayer. It
comes from the same triliter root.
So turn your face to the monotheistic
true pure religion.
660
times in the Quran, you have this root,
meaning what? Pay close attention
to all of its forms. The form we
are talking about is the form of the
form
of the form
of to be upright, to be firm, to
stand strong. So I want you to remember
the following principle because it's related to the
entirety of Ramadan 360.
Every command Allah gives you in the Quran
is good
for you. Every command Allah gives you in
the Quran
is good for you whether you understand its
wisdom or not and whether it's easy or
difficult to apply.
Every command Allah gives us in the Quran
is good for us, whether we understand its
wisdom or not, and whether it's easy or
difficult
to apply.
And this is so important that one time
someone came to the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam,
and he said, tell me something about Islam
that nobody else will tell me, and he
said, Very
short powerful advice Is that say, I believe
in Allah, and then be firm upon that
statement. Be firm in your actions. Very short
advice, but very comprehensive in its meanings. So
how can we explore this topic in a
way that's easy to remember? And for those
taking notes, easy to structure
Here's what we will do. Here's what we'll
do
I will go through with a time that
I have 2 or 3 ayat of the
Quran,
and they will give us the entirety of
the overview of istikham.
The very first aya, let's give the title
as you are commanded. That's the title we're
gonna go with.
This is in Surah Tood, Surah 11 verse
112.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells us,
So be steadfast
be steadfast as you are commanded, oh prophet.
If anybody wants to share the verse and
the translation, go for
Here it is right now. Allah
is telling us be steadfast. This is by
extension to the prophet
and to us, and do not do not
transgress.
So you, with those who, perform tawba, do
not transgress. Allah is aware of all that
you do. So what are some gems we
can take from this?
Number 1, notice in the very beginning of
this ayah,
be firm
as you are commanded.
Not as you desire, as you are commanded.
A lot of times people gloss over these
ayaat.
They take one part of the command and
they don't notice some of the subtleties.
Don't think of
based on actions that you desire rather as
you are commanded,
as Allah commands,
as Allah commands. Take this as your Qur'anic
affirmation in life. Allah commands me. Allah commands
me. Allah commands me to do this. Allah
commands me to pray. Allah commands me to
stay away from for my own benefit. Every
command of the Quran is for your own
well-being.
Furthermore, notice something else in this
ayah. And also those who perform tawba with
you. So what does this mean?
By definition, the people who perform tawba, who
repent, they've come back to the straight path.
They've come back to Allah
Sometimes some Muslims say, I feel so guilty,
so ashamed, so bad. Like, I'm the worst
person in the entire. There's no hope for
me at all. And the prophet is being
told, stand firm you and those who perform
Tawba.
Meaning what? There's always hope if you perform
Tawba. You are on the straight path if
you did Tawba. The one who doesn't do
Tawba is the one who's not on the
straight
path. So by definition, returning to Allah is
a type of
is a type of being,
firm and strong. What else do you notice
in this ayah? As you are commanded, Allah
gives you moderation.
Our ummah is an ummah of Wasatria. And
there's a gem here many people don't notice
in the
that in this one particular ayah, Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala is telling the prophet
and by extension the Muslims,
do not go to extremes.
Do not transgress.
So be firm as a Muslim, but do
not transgress like them 3 men who said,
one of them said, I'm going to pray
every single night, and I'm not going to
sleep. And the other one said, I'm gonna
fast every single day and never take a
break. That's not allowed. So don't be extreme,
but then what does Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
say in the ayah that follows this?
Do not incline to the people of evil.
Do not incline to the wrongdoers,
or the fire will touch you. In other
words, don't become desensitized to their sins, and
also don't transgress. Do what Allah commanded. Do
what Allah commanded. Don't let your heart get
soft so that you might start justifying
the actions of people who are evil. Do
not incline to the people of oppression.
Do not incline to the people of injustice.
Now in the next ayah, what does Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala say? So now we are
on ayah 1 13. We're still covering this
one passage. There are 3 passages we'll cover.
The oppressors
are of many types. May Allah protect us
all from being oppressors or oppressed, and may
Allah aid our brothers and sisters all around
the world. The one who helps the oppressor
is a type of oppressor.
The one who helps oppressors
with their oppression, with their
is an oppressor.
The one who helps the oppressor.
He is an oppressor like him in a
different form, but you are facilitating
like many people today in the world who
facilitate or justify
the genocide that is happening, Gaza, that is
so obvious, so clear that anyone with a
clean heart, anyone with a will say, of
course, this is wrong. We have to stop
this immediately. They will not say, what if,
what about, what if no. Automatically,
this is wrong.
Genocide is not acceptable, but you will find
many people defending,
justifying, and that this is a more obvious
example. But Allah tells us and the prophet
not to incline to the people of evil.
Brothers and sisters, sometimes the victory of the
the of the is delayed
because of Muslims who incline to the people
of oppression and evil,
relying on them, normalizing things with them, normalizing
their evil in different forms and their injustice,
looking to imitate everything they do. Look at
these so called Muslim majority countries. They've
opened the floodgates of faesh, of evil, and
music concerts, and strip clubs, and alcohol, and
all of this, and they are the very
same people on the outside trying to look
like they are normalizing things for the sake
of Islam. No. Normalizing things with people of
genocide and oppression and evil and injustice
can never ever allow the people of, the
people of goodness to be deceived. We're not
going to be deceived by that. Don't incline
to things like that. There's hypocrisy behind it.
There's evil behind it. There's injustice behind it.
A lot of the Ummah's problems
are because people
are inclining
to ideologies
and philosophies of corruption.
We have to recognize this following principle.
The problems of the ummah are not going
to be solved by its enemies.
The problems of the ummah are not going
to be solved by people of evil and
oppression and injustice,
so do not incline to them. Do not
imitate their styles. Do not imitate their ways.
Even in the pursuit of good, sometimes a
Muslim might justify something evil, and that is
not allowed in Islam. May Allah protect us.
Be proud of what you have as a
Muslim wherever you are in the world with
our look at our diversity just here right
now live. We have people literally,
maybe on on 6 continents, may lock us
up from all of you. The reality is
our is very diverse, and there are cultural
differences that are allowed in Islam for
that. It is a part of Islam. But
we're talking here about the ideological
things. Do not incline to the people of
evil. And I ask Allah
to protect us from becoming desensitized.
What helps with Istiqaamah?
Aside from the 29 topics you guys covered
for the last month, what helps with the
topic of Istiqaamah?
If you dig deep into the speech of
Allah, you'll notice sometimes the the concept of
Istiqaamah
in the same passage, there's something else of
an act of worship.
So in this very same passage, the very
next ayah, Allah
gives you one way to stay firm. A
lot of Muslims ask, how do I remain
consistent and firm? Allah says,
In verse 114, we're still in the same
passage. Allah
is telling us and telling the prophet
with a clear command,
for those who are, are sharing it with
everyone, Allah
established the prayer.
The times of the day, the early part
of the night, good deeds wipe out sins.
Good deeds will wipe out sins. This is
a reminder.
Are we paying attention?
Are
we taking the reminder seriously?
So here you have salah. A lot of
people say salah. I don't feel anything with
salah.
Give salah its due right, its quality, attention,
its mindfulness, and you will take from it
life changing prescription
It will literally be your light, your guidance
in this life, in the grave, on the
day of judgment,
as you enter paradise, may Allah
keep us consistent upon salah in quantity and
quality.
But also right after this, Allah
says
Do a lot of good deeds. They wipe
out sins. That's how you remain firm after
Ramadan. Do a lot of good deeds. As
a form of Tawba, they will wipe out
your sins. But also pray your prayers and
here, persevere. Be patient. It's not going to
be easy. If istikhama was easy, every single
person in the entire world will do it,
but it's going to require some effort. So
if you feel lazy and you say, I
feel lazy, that's the very moment in which
you need to be more strong, more firm,
persevering with your saber. Because Allah says
nothing of good is wasted for for the
believers.
What else? Allah
tells us Turn to Allah firmly and ask
him for forgiveness in a different
Surah. Is one of the ways you remain
firm. So meaning you can have but
ask Allah for forgiveness because you will have
shortcomings as well. Ask Allah for forgiveness because
you will have shortcomings as well just like
when you finish salah. For your first thing,
you say
because of the shortcomings
in prayer.
Now there's a beautiful story, a hadith, if
you will, the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam.
One time, he told the Sahaba about he
said,
He said, be firm upon righteousness, but you're
not going to be able to do every
single virtuous thing, meaning you will never reach
a perfect state, but you have to try.
So what did he give them of advice?
Prophet
said know that the best of your actions
includes salaas or salaas amongst the best of
deeds. We already covered this in the ayah,
but then he gave us another one. He
said
and no one maintains his
except a believer, a as
is reported in Sunnad Ibn Majah.
Is one of the most overlooked acts of
worship for istikamah.
Wudu being in a state of purification
means more barakah. Your dua is more accepted.
You're more likely to pray your obligatory prayer
on time, and you're more likely to pray
if you're always in a state of.
So learning about is learning the fiqh and
learning the sweetness,
the the part that a lot of people
overlook. How do I get closer to Allah
through this act of worship that sometimes is
difficult? When it's cold, it's difficult. When it's
early morning and you just woke up, it's
difficult. But wudu is one of the greatest
acts of worship that is neglected.
And we have so many different, you know,
classes and programs throughout the year. One of
the classes we have right after Ramadan
actually is about the topic of wudu and
purification in general, not just wudu. The, the
purification act with Sheikh Abdul Bariyehir. It's going
to be online, virtual. So if you say
how do I gain is
after Ramadan ends, join us for that class
inshallah. It's a 6 week online course. It's
one of the best ways to learn about
the fiqh and also the barakah, the blessing,
the spiritual aspect of wudu. Again, this is
the first command, the first aya, as you
are commanded,
as you are commanded by Allah. The second
thing to keep in mind with is
the second thing
keep in mind, think about what is leads
to. Can everyone tell us in the chat,
if you have istilkama,
what does it lead to in one word
or two words? If you have istilkama, what
does it lead to?
In 1 or 2 words. If you have
firmness throughout life and you die in that
state. So if you have consistency and you
die in that state, what does it lead
to?
Leads to
paradise. It leads to paradise.
Yes. In this world, it leads to truthfulness,
obedience, contentment, peace, perseverance, excellent. When you die,
it leads to what? To Jannah, to Allah's
pleasure. So I wanna share with you this
good news, one of my favorite ayats of
the Quran. There are 2 verses that start
in the same exact way. So for the
students of Quran, you're familiar with the opening
of both of these verses. 1 is in,
1 is in
Here is the first one in the chat.
41 aya 30.
Those who say Allah is my lord, and
then they remain firm, steadfast,
meaning that's their way of life. They died
upon it. What happens? What's the end result?
When your soul leaves your body, if you
if you lived upon and died upon,
if your lifestyle was one of firmness,
that's how you left this world. The angels
will come to you. The angels of mercy,
they will say, do not have fear. Do
not be sad. Have the good news of
the paradise, the Jannah you were promised before.
Rama recited this ayah one time from the
Mimba,
and he said remain firm in your obedience
to Allah.
Do not run from place to place like
the meaning evasive, constantly changing what you worship
and how you worship. Worship Allah as he
commanded.
Again, the first principle, as Allah commanded.
And he says this refers to those who
perform their deeds sincerely for the sake of
Allah alone. The majority of people will say,
Rabun Allah. Allah is my lord. I'm Muslim.
But the minority are those who remained firm.
They work hard. Do you know the other
ayah? The other ayah that also moves the
hearts when you think about what Allah
is, is telling us here.
There's no fear on them, nor will they
be sad. I want you to think about
fear.
What do most human beings experience in this
world? Fear is a very common deep and
powerful human emotion, and it affects people's habits,
their practices, their goals, their educational
pathways, their careers, their desires,
marriage, children, the fear of poverty, the fear
of not being loved, the fear of being
alone, the fear of being perceived a certain
way, the fear of one's insecurities being exposed,
the fear of not having kids, the fear
of missing out, the fear of not being
validated, the fear the fear of not seeming,
normal or accepted by other people in society.
Fear drives people in so many ways. Then
As soon as your soul leaves your body
because you lived upon,
you worked hard.
You were firm. When your body leaves, when
your soul leaves your body, you're going to
be in a good state.
Stay firm and know that the promises of
Allah are always true. The promise here is
you will have no fear. Do you know
why there's no fear when you leave this
world as a believer who was strong? Because
you had fears while you're still alive.
Fear of meeting Allah unprepared.
Fear of not doing enough. So one of
the most important aspects here of,
of, a good ending is to think about
as a lifestyle,
and the fear of a shortcoming should be
redirected to a good action.
And this is the reality of our lives.
The prophets themselves taught us this in their
dua. You look at the examples of the
the dua that the prophets
used to make. Even Musa alaihi salam, like,
when he he asked for forgiveness,
he asked the law for forgiveness. These are
the prophets. We are more in need of
that. We are more in need of that.
Prophet Musa alaihis salam, by the way, you've
already studied his story so many times throughout
Ramadan. You heard references to him
a 136 times mentioned by name. Allah spoke
to him directly. If you wanna learn more
about prophet Musa alaihi salam, I was actually
told yesterday, right before, you know, preparing this
session, we have a virtual class
about prophet Musa alaihi salam after Ramadan. That's
one of the best ways to keep your
momentum going, and it will be with our
very own.
Again, this is the 2nd passage. The 2nd
passage, what does
lead to? And now
the 3rd and final passage here, the verse
of the fitra.
The verse of the fitra. This is one
of the most powerful
ayat of the entire Quran.
You think of I
want you to think about the story that
you're, telling yourself or you're hearing. Your istikham.
What is your story? How are you living
upon this story? What's written? What are you
going to do next? In this verse, Allah
says
same
root, This is the same root as
So here Allah
is saying, be steadfast
in all uprightness, oh prophet.
For those who have taken my class, signs
about God, atheists, and the pursuit of truth,
we ended the class with this topic of
as well. And 50 different ways or all
these different ways, sorry,
that you can, basically
protect and preserve your fitra, the the heart
that you have, that you're on this path
to Allah
You're not going to experience any change. You
don't want any change. You want to stick
to what is good. So you think of
fitra, how do I keep my heart pure?
It's linked to the topic of istikamah
because it's internal. When people think of istikamah,
they think of what? The external.
Istikama is the the actions, right, the perseverance,
a lot of the things you you studied
in the last 29 days in Ramadan. So
how how would I summarize these three pieces
of advice, these three verses that we covered?
So first,
as Allah
commanded, not as you desire.
Somebody may ask, what's the action item here?
Okay. As Allah commanded, not as I desire.
Learn about what Allah commanded. Learn, seek knowledge,
and prioritize Allah's commands over your desires. Number
2, remember the final destination. If you have
a
and remember the final destination for those who
abandon.
Final destination for those who have a,
paradise.
Allah's pleasure, happiness.
So what's the action item? Keep your eyes
on the prize, the good ending, the strong
ending. It's around the corner. It might be
really soon, so work really hard for it.
And finally, number 3, to summarize these three
passages,
keep purifying your fitra, your heart internally
and your environment externally.
These three pieces of advice summarize most things
about
in the entirety of the Quran, but again,
there's a lot more. Of course, the prophet
used to make
dua. Oh, you who controls the hearts, keep
my heart firm.
Keep my heart firm upon this faith.
And ask Allah always for a good ending
and then work for it. As you make
dua for
success in your exams and exams of our
students around the world, you have to work
for those exam scores. As you make dua
for a job, you have to work for
that job. As you make dua for, marriage
or children have to work for those things.
So as you make for a good ending,
work for it as a lifestyle.
It's a journey, and it's not a one
time finish line. It's a journey, so it
requires us to be immersed in the journey.
It's not a side task, a side goal,
a compartmentalized
part of life. It is life itself to
worship Allah and to die in that state,
to worship Allah and to meet Him on
the best of days. And we ask Allah
to grant us a good ending. Brothers and
sisters, very quickly here, in these last few
minutes, I just wanna ask you before we
start to make du'a, just very brief du'a,
because we still have the tafsir session as
well. What are some things some lessons you
learned you took from Ramadan 360? Any short
lesson you can share
for the benefit of everyone else who is
here. What are some things you took from
the Ramadan 360 so far?
We ask Allah to accept from everyone.
To be consistent.
Excellent.
What else?
Good character.
Grant us that.
To correct my deen,
nice.
Importance of charity. To be patient, seeking knowledge,
wonderful. To reflect on the creation,
endurance, sacrifice,
sincerity,
connection of the Quran.
Actions are judged by their endings, knowledge, humility,
kinship.
I found that we shouldn't shortchange ourselves with
the help of Allah. We can achieve great
deeds.
May Allah accept you. Excellent.
Sometimes we we have low standards for ourselves,
or we we really don't believe in ourselves.
We don't believe it's possible to do more.
And Ramadan and our community here online and
offline is one of the greatest proofs that
we can all do more. One of the
greatest proofs we can continue after Ramadan
To love Allah more than fearing Allah. Excellent.
Push yourself more. The power of forgiveness.
Keep the Quran close. Always forgive the people
that you wronged.
Excellent. May Allah accept from all the wonderful
responses.
Understanding the Quran so we can take action.
Excellent. It's not just to recite.
Meeting good people and good company is useful
for steadfastness. It is one of the most
important components of its,
the good environment,
purifying the heart, and then working externally.
These are wonderful responses.
I learned on one person row. I learned
to always believe in Allah in everything you
do and try as much as possible to
not be led astray by the shiny things
of this.
May Allah accept your wonderful response.
Aiming for wonderful. May Allah accept from all
of you.
Brothers and sisters,
this brings us to the conclusion of the
first component of this final session. May all
accept from all of you. This brings us
to just a quick, Dua. We'll make this
Dua in English
for the majority. We'll make du'a
together.
And whether or not you've already finished from,
you keep going
in terms of your deeds, in terms of
your actions, your, your Quran.
And you you are very realistic with what's
next. You are very realistic.
So let's make a quick dua.
Oh, Allah, we thank you for giving us
life to the month of Ramadan.
Oh, Allah, we thank you for the blessing
of Islam.
Ola, we thank you for all the blessings
that you've given us, the blessings we recognize,
and the blessings we cannot count.
Ola, make us amongst the grateful, amongst the
shakireen throughout our lives and protect us from
any moment in which we are lacking gratitude.
O Allah, we ask you to guide us
amongst those you have guided, to allow us
to leave
Ramallah completely forgiven. O Allah, forgive all of
our sins, the major and the minor, the
past, present, and future, the sins that are
public, the sins that are private, the sins
that we remember, the sins that we forgot.
O Allah, we ask you to accept our
du'a. O Allah, we ask you to accept
our du'a. O Allah, we ask you to
accept our du'a and to grant us consistency
through our lives and to grant each of
us what we need in the form that
is best for us and to grant us
contentment with that. Oh Allah, our brothers and
sisters around the world are struggling and suffering
in many different ways. We ask you, Allah,
to bring down your relief, your justice, your
barakah, your blessings, and your contentment and tranquility
to their hearts. We ask, oh, lord, to
grant us a share of facilitating
justice and relief and mercy for others around
us and around the world. We ask you,
oh Allah, to punish those who oppress the
innocent. We ask you, Allah, to punish those
who are oppressing our brothers and sisters around
the world. We ask you,
we ask you, Allah, to remove from the
land of Al Aqsa those who are oppressing
and occupying every land and every place, O
Allah, and to grant us a share of
facilitating that justice. Oh Allah, as Ramadan comes
to an end and we bid farewell to
it. We ask you, oh Allah, to make
us from amongst those who do not bid
farewell to their good deeds. We ask you,
Allah, as Ramadan is ending, we ask you,
Allah, to grant us consistency throughout the year,
that this is the beginning of the next
chapter, that this is the beginning of consistency
and growth, that this is the beginning of
letting go of the shackles that have held
on to us for a long time. We
ask you, Allah, to forgive us. We ask
you, Allah, to accept from us. We ask
you, Allah, to guide us and our youth
and our loved ones around the world. We
ask, Allah, to bless those who have come
back to you during this month of Ramadan,
to keep them strong and consistent
and surrounded by good friends and environments throughout
the year. We ask you, Allah, to grant
us beneficial knowledge and accepted deeds and pure
provisions. We ask you a lot to reward
all of those who have brought us any
amount of good opportunities in this world, any
kind of opportunity to get closer to you,
whether it is knowledge or prayer in the
local masajid or it is charity or any
opportunity to help others, we ask you, Allah,
to bless them and to rectify their affairs.
Oh, Allah, we ask you to bless our
brothers and sisters,
to reward them for all the opportunities that
they have given us, and to make us
a means of guidance for others and optimism
and hope. We ask Allah to grant us
strength and to forgive us for our weaknesses.
We ask you Allah to grant us istiqaama.
Oh Allah grant us istiqaama and keep us
guided along this path until our last breath,
until the day that we meet you. O
Allah, we ask you to make us from
amongst those who live by the Quran and
die upon the Quran. We ask you Allah
to make the Quran the light of our
hearts and the remover of our stress. We
ask you, Allah, to make the Quran intercession
for us in the graves and on the
day of judgment and a source of success
and salvation. O Allah, we ask you to
make us and our loved ones amongst the
people of the Quran and to heal the
hearts of a believing people. O Allah, bless
our brothers and sisters all around the world.
Oh, Allah, forgive our brothers and sisters who
have preceded us to you and allow us
to live righteously and to die righteously as
well. Oh, Allah, as Ramadan ends, we ask
you to make us amongst those who worship
you throughout the year. Oh, Allah grant us
consistency throughout the year. Oh, Allah grant us
consistency
throughout the year and accept our du'a in
all of the different forms that are best
for us. Accept our dua and grant us
contentment, oh Allah. Oh Allah reward the brothers
and sisters who facilitated
these opportunities of knowledge of Ramadan 360 and
Al Maghrib Institute and all of the, institutions
and opportunities to get closer to you. We
ask a lot to reward our scholars and
our teachers and our organizers and our staff
and our volunteers and our students and our
donors. We ask you, Allah, to accept from
all of us, to accept from all of
us, to accept from all of us and
to allow us to meet you on the
best of days.
To
our brothers and our sisters. May Allah reward
you all. There's still another session,
with, Usadah Taimia. And I think I was
told as well there might be 1 or
2 questions before we transition over. So I
will, hand it back to sister.
For an unforgettable
final session of Ramadan 360 part 1.
I just wanna take a couple of the
questions that I got sent privately. If anyone
else wants to send them quickly to me,
we'll try to squeeze them in. The first
question that I have received is,
you know, I'm currently burnt out from all
my Ramadan worship. Any advice on how to
continue?
One of the best things is to look
at what helped you in Ramadan. So have
realistic goals after Ramadan and take a little
from each thing. You can't do the same
as Ramadan. Even the prophet
did more in Ramadan, and and the sahadid
more in Ramadan than any time of the
year. But they still did the the other
things. They did many of them throughout the
year. So for example,
before you go to sleep, reading Quran, have
your daily prescription for all the acts of
worship you started to do in Ramadan for
the rest of the year. The second thing,
good environments
and good companionship.
If you have a local Islamic center, if
you have online classes and community, Alhamdulillah, we
have many classes and programs at.
If you have these kinds of environments, it
will help you.
Good environments, good
company. The third
is. One of the reasons Muslims do more
in Ramadan, and they don't sometimes realize this,
is because there are a lot more Islamic
reminders out there. A lot of videos and
clips and everyone's sharing and everyone's talking. So
these are reminders we're always in need of.
Burning out is usually a symptom of being
overwhelmed,
of taking on too much and not building
a strong consistency, a foundation, motivation.
So make sure you are realistic.
You are thinking of as a lifestyle.
Every goal you have that you wanna grow
with from now to next Ramadan. If Allah
grants this life, tell yourself, I wanna get
to a place where the beginning of next
Ramadan is not like the beginning of this
Ramadan. I'm somewhere different. I have some strength,
some improvement in the next
11 months if we are granted life till
then. So start now. This is why right
after Ramadan, a lot of people will pray
qiyam after I shout prayer. They'll still pray
2 rakas, 4 rakas. There's no specific virtue
or anything, but you wanna maintain consistency.
People will fast the 6 days of Shawwal
because fasting after Ramadan is probably a lot
easier than stopping for a couple of months
and then going back to fasting. A lot
of people keep giving charity in the month
of Shawan. They will keep reading Quran. So
write down your your prescription,
how much you want to do. And for
for me personally, I believe this is important,
the motivation. Start over with your motivators. And
from now till next time, you'll see some
consistency. You'll join us for your neighbor all
in online classes and in person as well.
And when you come to our next Ramadan
program, Ramadan will not be next year, you'll
start off with a strong
standard, and you'll take it from there.
Sorry. I was saying that was a shameless.
No. Yeah. No shame plug.
The next question that I have is,
we all want a good death, so if
we die in, we'll do. Would this be
a good ending if we don't have a
chance
say the shahada? For example, if someone was
killed by an animal or or had a
sudden death, etcetera.
That's a great question.
Good ending is not just about saying the.
A lot of people dying in the last
moment. They don't have that opportunity to say
the. They died in salah. They died,
sleeping, and they died,
in another situation, a car accident, a bomb
fell on their building.
So the reality is it's not always going
to be just you said, and then you
left this world. Sometimes we think of it
that way, but it's not always that way.
Rather, you look at the last few days
of your life. Look at the last 7
days of your life, and that's a good
idea of what you might leave this world
with of habits. If you don't like any
of the habits of your last week, get
rid of them today. As one of the
said, if there's something you don't wanna explain
to Allah or meet Allah with, abandon it
today. As for a good ending in terms
of, that's a good sign that you're always
in a state of. It's a very good
sign that you're always in a state of
worship and
and may Allah accept from you and may
Allah grant us all a
good ending as well.
And the final question, Shif, is, again, a
short one, but a powerful one is how
to overcome spiritual numbness.
How do you overcome spiritual numbness? I think
it goes back to some of the question.
It is kind of like the burnt out
question in a way.
You need to always go back to the
the things that move you most that affect
you most.
So if you're referring to like, you're just
not moved anymore, if that's what you mean
by being numb, you just don't feel anything
anymore, go back to the question of why.
Go back to the ayat that move your
heart. Think about the blessings of Allah. Think
about forgiveness.
And then also make dua.
Allah purify my heart. Keep making that dua
over and over and over again. And you'll
find also the Quran is a shifa.
The Quran is a shifa, a healing for
what is in the hearts. May Allah
accept from all of us and forgive us
for our shortcomings and make the Quran the
light of our chest.
Ameen. Sheikh, may Allah accept from you and
your family, all your loved ones. It's been
an honor and a pleasure to have you,
spearhead this Ramadan 360 experience with us to
guide us and to very I didn't realize
that you were intending,
you know, to to tie in the beginning
to the end, and it was all such
a beautiful journey. That has been such a
beautiful experience to have with this community and
for your contributions to that. Jazakam alaheir.
May Allah accept from all of us. And
I'll see you all for the continued programs
online and offline.
There's still another really powerful session
with accept from the entire team and all
of these students as well.
And with that said, one thing that I
do wanna mention, especially while you guys are
all here. I know many people are are
are are having their their iftar is coming
in very soon, their final, iftar is insha'Allah.
One thing that's really, really important,
that is that we ask for every single
year and that makes it possible for us
to improve the experience every single year. Some
of you know already what this is coming
up,
Yes. Bilal got it. The survey, the Ramadan
360 annual survey.
Please make sure you complete this right now.
Jazakk Malakar Wajia. She's dropped it into the
chat. If you don't have the opportunity because
it's, it's got quite a few questions, please
just click on the link and make that
intention that you're gonna finish this today so
that we can make sure that we can
continue to upgrade, to improve this experience, to
know what we can add, what we can
subtract, what you really loved, what you really
could have done without, and we can just
inshallah keep maximizing this experience for others, and
you'll get the adger for those changes. And,
honestly, the surveys are really, really crucial. We
actually, as a staff, as a as volunteers,
as staff members, as shoo, we all all
review these survey responses whenever we're making decisions
about classes and about and about experiences.
And the more people that respond, you might
feel like, oh, other people have given my
feedback. Other people will tell me tell tell
them what what I need to say anyways.
But the more people that we have giving
us that feedback, honestly, the the more more,
effective it is. So please, please make sure
the link is in the in the chat.
Again, surveymonkey.com
forward slash r forward slash,
r 360 underscore principles. It's in the YouTube
link as well in the description. So please,
again, click that link, make that intention. I'm
gonna finish the survey inshallah afterwards. You don't
understand how critical that feedback is inshallah.
To those, who submitted questions today and throughout
the entire month. I know we had difficulty
getting to all the questions that we had
submitted even for the Fatiuhnites,
even though we got through the vast majority
of them. One thing I do wanna say,
you know, part of what Amalqrib does in
making Islam very easy and accessible,
it's something that I, in practice,
had the opportunity or had the, the necessity
for earlier today or yesterday was, subhanallah, our
amazing platforms and our amazing experiences that give
you answers to your critical questions about Islam
that answer some of the daily practice issues
that you that might come up in your
conversations, that might come up in your practices.
And, honestly, I had the same exact situation
where I was trying to figure out within
my family if we had appropriately allocated our
zakatul fitr. And,
I was able to just hop on to
Faith Essentials in about 15 seconds where everybody
else was arguing,
and able to just literally pull up the
the platform, go to the course Zakat explained.
I went to my library, got got got
into Zakat explained, and we have a Zakat
al Fitr,
question. Sorry. Let me just pull up the
library again.
We have a zigatul fitr fitr lesson already
ready to go, and within seconds, I had
everybody's answer,
So I highly recommend continuing with these programs
and especially for the faith essentials specifically as
a a dear place in my heart because
it gives you access to everything and so
many of the key topics and and and,
you know, courses that you need to be
able to to factor into your daily practice
and your principles. So that is one thing
I just wanna plug in quickly. I know
people get really sad that, oh, we all
have this kind of access. We all have
these kind of, you know you know, community
gatherings, and we always get asked, oh, can
you continue Ramadan 360 afterwards? Can you do
a, like, a weekly thing? Can you do
a monthly thing? And I gotta say there's
there's something specific. There's something blessed about the
month of Ramadan that allows us for 30
days in a row to come online at
the same time with cameras on, with this
type of energy in the chat. And I
feel like post Ramadan, it's hard to maintain
that same vibe. So we have specific programs
and we have specific, you know, things have
been curated to make sure that we maximize
your time as students and that we make
sure that you guys are focused on the
parts of the journey that you need access
to. So that's why there's different part Amal
Gurb experiences. That's why you have Amal Gurb
online with on demand professionally filmed classes. That's
why you have live virtual. You heard Sheikh
Salman Hani mentioning earlier, with the class
and class coming up. That's why you have
those experiences available to you. That's why you
have faith essentials for short clips, quick access
to all the topics in one space. That's
why you have on-site classes for in person
experiences where you get that environment in person,
and that honestly is is is a drug
on its own.
Being, you know, physically within that community in
Canada, the US, UK, Scandinavia, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia
are the places that Almagrib is live in
person, alhamdulillah. And then we have things like,
you know, Quran quest for kids, Imspring for
children, Quran revolution for those who are looking
to learn the jaweed and to perfect their
recitation.
There's so much for everyone. Darbia for for
small more intimate mentorship programs so that you
can continue your your journey in a more,
effective and direct environment
Sheikh from Harlouge and others. There's just so
much available out there through the Amager world.
So I don't want you guys to get
bummed now and to get, like, you know,
just sad, like, this this journey is over,
and I'm gonna have to wait 11, 12
months for this to for to have this
experience again. Of course, Ramadan 360 is special.
This community that you guys have built that
you guys make special is special,
but this journey does not stop now. Take
a break, enjoy Eid, continue with your Ibadah
and your and your your consistency and your
your worship as much as you can, and
then rejoin us for the next experience and
the next thing and the next inshallah. May
Allahu as continuity
and accept from us.
With that said, I know I've taken a
a good chunk of time. Please make sure
again you're clicking on those survey links. You're
opening up. You're making that intention. I'm gonna
complete the survey. I'm gonna give my feedback
and benefit myself and others inshallah in the
future. And with that, I wanna bring on
Usadda Tania Zubair
for our
final final final Quran reflect session. Reminder, we
do have a Kahoot at the end of
this session, so you guys get a chance
to win an all access pass and get
a chance to win all access, everything that
Amalarb is doing in the next year and
until the end of December inshallah. But for
now, let's make sure that we had a
chance to reflect and hear from you guys
one final time and be guided by Usadataymiyyah
inshallah.
Alaykum. How are you?
How are you doing, Hafsa? Alhamdulillah.
I'm trying to control my emotions. It's like
a roller coaster. Like, you get really happy,
then you get really sad, then you get
really, like, reflecting Alhamdulillah.
I'm feeling very grateful
that Allah gave us the,
ability to do this.
And I'm very grateful for everything that we
got to learn together and reflect on.
But, of course, I'm sad as well because
this was like the new normal, you know,
of the evening.
Right? So, Alhamdulillah,
we we praise and thank Allah for every
little and and big thing we're able to
accomplish by his permission and help.
Let's begin. And I think the,
the topic for today is just perfect.
Let's begin.
So istukama,
as we learned earlier, is from
Qafwawmeem,
and
is when you say so and so istakama,
it means two things. It means that, first
of all,
that it has now
it is now
on the right direction. It is in in
the right,
it is on the right course now
in the right direction.
So consider that imagine that you're driving
and,
let's say you're from North America and you
are driving in London,
England.
Alright? And you don't realize you start driving
on the wrong side of the road
and then you realize that, oh, I'm on
the wrong side of the road. What do
you do then?
You
stop right there and you
take account of where you are, what you
need to do, and then you change your
course
and you get on the right lane.
So you were on the wrong lane and
now you're on the right lane.
Okay.
So this means what? That you became correct,
right, proper.
Now you're in the right direction.
Secondly,
means
when something
remains
correct as in it continues
on
in the right course.
Okay? So for example,
you now are on the right lane.
Okay?
But now you have to stick to it.
Right? You you are going to continue on
it until you reach your destination
without deviating.
So this is what istokama means in a
nutshell.
To become right and proper,
okay, to go in the right course, in
the right direction,
and then to stick to it, to remain
on it without deviating.
So to be on to
be on the straight path
means that that you have Istikamah.
Why? Because you're not on the wrong path
and you are not deviating from the right
path.
Okay?
So to be
means that you're on the right path and
that you are sticking to it. You you
are remaining firm on it.
So the ulama explained that istakamah
is to be on the correct religion.
And what is the correct religion? It is
Islam because Islam is free of any
of any deviation of anything that is wrong.
And then istakamah is to comply with all
of Islam.
Not to pick and choose, but to comply
with all of Islam,
which means that you carry out
all the acts of obedience. Allah
has commanded you to pray, to fast, to
give sadaqa, to give zakat, so on and
so forth. So you carry out all the
acts of obedience
and that you
avoid
all the prohibitions as well. Right? So this
is
Now linguistically,
is also to you need to remain committed
to your promise.
Okay?
Allah says that as long as the mushrikeen
stick to their their promises, their their commitments
to you, you also
fulfill them. K? So istikamah
is to fulfill your commitments.
Alright?
That once you have committed to do something,
then you do it.
And then you you you you carry it
out until the very end.
Like, for example, sometimes people start a job,
right, but they don't
do it properly.
Or they start it, right, but then they
don't complete it until the very end.
Is to fulfill all of your commitments
with Allah
So one of the scholars mentioned that is
to fulfill your commitments with Allah in relation
to food,
meaning what you eat. You eat what is
halal.
Right? In relation to drink, what you drink
is halal. And even in your clothing, the
way you dress,
right, that is also what what what is
pleasing to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
So istikala
then is to basically
align yourself
with the religion of Allah.
Okay? And then stick to the religion of
Allah as well. Now if you think about
it, how is it possible for a person
to
align themselves with the religion of Allah in
relation to food, drink, clothing, worship,
everything? How is it possible? What is the
number one thing that they need?
You can write in the chat.
What is the number one thing a person
needs in order to align themselves with the
religion of Allah? Knowledge. Exactly.
Knowledge. That's that's the first thing.
Right? So istikamma
is not possible without
il.
Now, Allah
has he has he given us ulim of
how of of what the straight path is
and how to remain on it? Yes.
Where is that? It is in the Quran
and the Sunnah.
Now there's a beautiful hadith in which we
learned, the prophet
said
that Allah has set forth an example.
Okay?
And this example is that there is a
road
which leads to the destination.
And on either side of the road,
there are walls.
Okay. So imagine there's a road, there's a
path that leads to a destination that you
want to get to. And on either side
of the road, there there are walls.
And in these walls,
there are open doors.
And on the open doors, there are curtains.
Now from the end of the road,
a voice calls
proceed straight
and do not turn to any side.
So what happens people,
they proceed straight.
Now when someone intends to lift a curtain
from the door,
another voice calls from above.
Beware.
Do not lift the curtain.
Otherwise,
you will be lured inside.
The prophet
explained that the straight path leading to the
destination is Islam.
The walls on either side
are the limits, the that Allah
has set. Okay? That this is something you're
not allowed to do. This is something that
is halam.
The open doors
are the things that Allah
has specifically
prohibited.
Okay? And he want and he an opening,
for example, theft.
Another open door, zina. Another open door, haram,
wealth. Okay. Zuba.
Alright?
So the open doors are what? They are
things that Allah
has prohibited.
The voice that calls from the end of
the road is the Quran.
And what and what does that voice say?
That voice
says proceed straight and do not turn to
any side.
Keep coming. Keep going straight. Don't go right
or left.
And the voice which calls from above and
what is that voice?
Ini, it's it speaks when when a person
is intending to lift a curtain.
Right? So that voice from above
is Allah's monitor in the heart of every
believer.
And your own heart tells you, don't do
this exactly your own conscience.
So this beautiful hadith shows us that
istikamma
is what to be on Surah al Mustaqim.
And it shows us that to have istikamma
is not easy
because you take 2 steps forward,
and there are temptations to your right and
temptations to your left.
Right? You know where you wanna go.
You have the intention and you're going.
But then there are
points where you slip,
right, where you are tempted to, you know,
do something that could be displeasing to Allah.
But Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
has given us the Quran to continue to
guide us
and he has also given us the monitor
in the heart
that reproaches us and that that warns us.
So to have Istikawba then, we need
these two things in our lives. We need
the Quran
to guide us,
to show us the way. We and Quran
gives us il, right, knowledge,
and we also need to listen
to the the monitor that Allah
has given us in our hearts.
Now we see that in the Quran, Allah
commands us to have istakamah.
He tells us very directly, instructs us that
we must have istakamah.
For example, in Surat Fussilat, verse number 6,
Allah says,
In this ayah, Allah's that,
declare, oh prophet
that I am only a human being like
you,
who has received inspiration,
revelation.
And what is that revelation?
That your god is only one god.
Therefore,
become
straight.
Okay?
Meaning direct
yourselves
towards
him.
Him alone, meaning only
worship Allah
and do not deviate from him. Do not
turn away from him.
Have istakamah
towards Allah
because ultimately,
istakamah
leads to what? Paradise, Jannah.
It leads to the approval of Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala.
In Surat Hud, a 112,
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says, fastakim
kamaumirta.
Have
become steadfast
just as you have been commanded,
and also those who have repented with you.
And what it means by
is that become steadfast on the religion of
your lord,
on the the Quran, meaning whatever Allah is
teaching you through the Quran.
And he adhere to it and continue to
call people to it.
And, you know, there are some narrations that
mention that this ayah,
this ayah was one of the heaviest verses
on the prophet
and the companions.
Why?
Because they understood that
is not easy. If Allah
is telling us, this
basically me means what? That do what you
have been told.
Stick to it and call people to it.
Don't take this matter lightly.
Then we see that in the Quran,
also encourages us to have
by telling us about the benefit and the
reward of.
So for example, in Suratul Jil, verse number
16, Allah
says
That if they had
on the right path, if they became steadfast
on the right path,
if they believed in and followed the guidance
that has been given to them, then what
would happen?
We would give them
abundant water.
Now what is this abundant water? There are
several interpretations.
One interpretation is that abundant water is a
metaphor
for what? For further guidance.
If you
stick to what you know,
if you do
what you have learned,
even if it's a little bit that you
have learned so far, but you try your
best to adhere to it, then what's going
to happen? Allah
is going to increase you in your knowledge
and also in your righteous action.
So this is the benefit of his diploma
that Allah
strengthens you with more steadfastness.
Another interpretation is that abundant water over here
refers to worldly blessings.
And worldly blessings doesn't just mean that there
there will be an increase
in your sustenance. No. It means that there
will be an increase in what? In your
contentment.
Because when you have
water,
right, and especially when it quenches your thirst,
how do you feel? You feel so satisfied.
SubhanAllah, when you when you break your fast,
sometimes you're just happy to just have a
have a big glass of water.
Right? So
those who follow believe in and follow the
guidance that
Allah has sent, those who have istikamah,
then what will happen? Allah
will give them abundant water, meaning further guidance
and also
contentment in this life.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala also tells us that
those who have istikamah,
angels become their friends.
The angels become their friends.
Verses 30 to 32.
Allah tells
us
that Those who say our Lord is Allah,
and then they become steadfast.
And to say our Lord is Allah
means that you accept Allah as your Lord
and you also surrender to him. There's this
idea that, you know, you can be spiritual
without being religious. This is a complete lie.
It sounds very
impressive,
but it's it doesn't make any sense. Because
if you say, my lord is Allah, that
means you
accept him as your lord. And if you
accept Him as your Lord, that means you
surrender to Him.
So those who say that our Lord is
Allah, and then they become steadfast because it's
not easy to become but those who do
become,
what happens? The angels
continue to descend on them.
And if the angels continue to visit them
and they inspire them with positive thoughts.
That do not be afraid and do not
be sad. This is not just at the
time of death
and what will happen after that until entry
into paradise. This is also in this world
because sometimes istikwa
means that you are alone, that you are
in frightening situations, that people have turned against
you,
Right? That you don't know what you're going
to do.
But those who remain firm, the angels
accompany them, and the angels inspire them with
positivity.
Don't be afraid.
Don't be sad.
Rejoice.
Look forward to what is coming. Paradise, which
Allah
has promised you.
And the angels say,
We are your friends in worldly life and
also in the hereafter.
SubhanAllah.
The one who has istikamah
is not alone.
Even though it may seem like the whole
world has turned against them
and everyone has abandoned them,
but who is with them? Who is their
friend? It is the angels.
So those who have the angels as their
friends,
why do they need the approval of people
and the sympathy of people?
They don't need it.
So those who have,
angels become their friends.
And also those who have,
their home is Jannah, wherein they will abide
eternally.
Allah's tells us in verses 13 and 14
that
No fear will be on them nor will
they grieve.
They are the companions of paradise, and they
will abide there eternally because of what they
used to do.
So istakamah
means action, consistent.
Then we see that in the Quran, Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala also presents
examples of istakamah.
Any people who had a lot of istikamma
because
you can't be what you can't see.
So
Allah presents to us stories
of the prophets
as role models for us so that we
can take inspiration and draw strength from their
examples that if they were steadfast,
I should also be steadfast.
For example, about Ibrahim alaihis salam, Allah repeatedly
tells us in the Quran that he was
Hanif.
That he was Hanif, a monotheist,
an unswerving,
a committed monotheist, and he was not someone
who associated partners with Allah.
Even though
around him in the world at that time,
shirk was everywhere.
Everywhere.
And sometimes what happens with people is that
just because
something is common, it is everywhere,
they they begin to, you know, adopt it.
And they don't realize that this is something
that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala does not approve
of.
Is
that you are not impressed by the abundance
of falsehood,
that you stick to the truth, to what
is right even if it is
adopted by only a few people.
So Ibrahim alaihi salam
and then we have the example of Musa
alaihi salam and Harun alaihi salam. Right? That
how in the face of so much hardship
dealing with and then dealing with Bani Israel,
Allahu Akbar,
not easy.
Allah
tells us in Surat Yunus aya
89 that
That your prayer has been answered.
It has been accepted.
Now become steadfast.
And do not follow the way of those
people who do not know.
So various examples of different prophets have been
given in the Quran that that are, that
that continue to inspire us, you know, to
have to
to adhere to the truth and to stick
to it.
Finally,
we see that in the Quran, Allah
tells us that
is only possible
with Allah
help and permission.
Allah tells us in Surat Taqeel
that
That this is only a reminder, a message
to the worlds.
And
who will who will benefit for from it?
The one who
wants to
wants to have istakama,
and he wants to adopt the right course
and wants to remain
firm on it until the end.
So the one who wants it,
they will benefit from the Quran.
However,
You cannot even
want to have something, want to do something,
alright, to to to adopt the truth, to
stick to the truth.
You cannot even have that
desire for it
until
Allah, the Lord of the worlds,
wants that for you.
Meaning it is only with his tawfiq
when he helps you. He gives you the
ability that you can do anything good
and that you can continue on it until
the end.
So never ever
feel arrogant
about the good that you managed to do.
Do not think that, oh, look at me.
I fasted throughout this month, and, yeah, I
prayed PM every night, and I did 3.
Right? And I did this and that, and
I gave so much,
and you begin to have this urge,
Right? That you you were very impressed with
yourself.
No. This is Allah subhanahu pra'ala's mercy on
me that I was able to do this.
So be grateful to Allah
and ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for more
and more tawfiq,
for more and more ability to do good.
Because so often it happens that people learn
about, you know, something good that they can
do. They know that they can do it,
but they don't want
to, or they're not able to,
or they used to do it once upon
a time and they're no longer able to
continue it.
So ask Allah for
Oh, Allah, guide us on the straight
path and when you say think about this
that oh Allah,
give me the knowledge that I need
in order to be on the straight path.
Give me the
the ability to act on that knowledge as
well. And then You Rabbi, give me the
the steadfastness, the firmness as well that I
don't quit, rather I continue
until the very end.
Alright. Let's hear from you.
Any reflections for today? Okay. I see somebody
has Solange has shared the ayah.
Yes. The coloring of Allah.
And who could be better than Allah in
coloring? And we are
worshipers
of Allah alone. And he
even if the world,
you know, goes here or there,
we will continue to worship Allah alone. No
reflections for today. Nobody's raising their hand.
Wow. Did I disable the no. I think
people can raise their hands. I think we're
just shy the final day.
Okay. Emotional. I see brother Ahmed's got guys
hands are, raised, and let's hear from him.
Oh, thank you so much for such a,
beautiful, beautiful session, and thank you for all,
the 30 days that, you have taught us.
Right.
For me, I just wanna share, Surah Maira,
you know, for the first
where it says that,
honor your contract with Allah.
I think when you it's like a handshake.
You know, when you shake hand with Allah,
it's a commitment. And once you have given
your word,
and I you know, then then you have
to follow it. Allah said, you you honor
your contract and I'll honor mine.
And, I think Quran dictates the contract,
And it's up to you. Once you sign
on the dotted line, then you're committed to
the contract.
And the question is, you know, are you
ready to sign that contract?
And once you're committed, then you then you're
done. Because then
comes, because you follow a contract. And I
think through knowledge,
and to Allah's will,
you sign the contract. And I think,
that's that's our goal to make sure that
we, stick to the contract. Thank you. You're
welcome,
But, you know, the beautiful thing is
that Allah
does not leave us to ourselves
to, you know, do do everything. He
he helps us. He teaches us. He guides
us.
He provides us with the means
and the strength
to fulfill that commitment.
Isn't that amazing?
There
are, you know, people that you work with.
All they do is that they just tell
you what you're supposed to do, and there's
no support. There's no help. Nothing.
Allah
is with you every step
of your journey towards him.
You cannot do this without him.
So istikamah
is only possible with Allah's help, meaning when
you have istikamah,
Allah is with you.
SubhanAllah.
Habsa, go ahead.
The actual according to the intention intention
For everything that you do, you should do
it for the sake of Allah.
Yes. Everything that we do, we should do
it for the sake of
Allah.
Go ahead.
I, want to reflect on,
on. And
I believe that
I remember the prophet
saying that when you
go back to your homes, when you go
back to your lives,
there's a greater jihad
of the nafs, the greater jihad, the nafs.
So I was thinking
that after seeing Amantu Billah,
I think
that after that comes a greater jihad with
yourself.
Yep.
And this is why you have to have
that resolve
that, yes, I am going to do it.
And,
you know, like
when he would be persecuted by the enemy,
what would he say that when you purchase,
like, a vessel in an earthen vessel,
you you knock on it.
Right? What you you tap on it. Why?
To to make sure that it is solid.
And so,
yes, there are going to be hardships. There
are going to be difficulties. We ask Allah
for afiyah,
but
the the thing is that this is why
is needed,
that
things are not always going to be easy.
There are going to be ups and downs,
and that is where you have to stay
committed
to Allah, Aso Wajah.
Not with your own strength,
but by
calling upon him and by being true to
him, by being sincere to him and with
his help,
you'll make it through.
Aisha, go ahead.
My reflection for today is,
a reminder about the first
videos that was, posted
on the Quran sis 360
when I logged on to the portal and
was that we should just try our best.
If we know we might be overwhelmed,
we should just pick one
particular lesson or session and stay consistent with
it.
And despite all the challenges and the possible
setbacks with Eid preparation and everything,
I believe that by the help of Allah,
I've been able to go through with this.
And, inshallah, it's just, propels me and gives
me more hope that I can do a
lot more. Inshallah.
And to everyone.
Thank you. Thank you. Before we move on
Before
Before we move on Before we move on
today, honestly, I'm gonna miss your voices. Some
some folks and your accents and your reflections
and your styles of speaking, like, it's become
my daily habit. It's gonna that is gonna
be the difficult part is missing each individual
person and their personalities in chat and who
reflected.
Sorry. The next person is Ibtihal from Texas.
I I wanna thank you for all the
sessions and all the sheiks.
You have been really, like, supportive
and really give thoughtful. I wanted to reflect
on Surat Al Fatihah and how in prayer
we ask for is to come on. We
say
and we do that, like, 17
times a day.
And then also you mentioned, like, how,
like, in work, you're just given to you
you're told what to do, but with Allah,
he's with you all the time.
And we say, like,
like, it's not us, Allah. You are the
one who help us.
We can't go like, we can't
worship you unless you help us.
That that was my reflection. Thank you.
You're welcome. And this is why we can
never feel
arrogant.
Right? It it does it does not befit
us, and we should always be grateful to
Allah.
Alright. Solange, go ahead.
I'm unmuted. Okay.
What you said about Allah being with us
the whole way,
all of a sudden, I I got,
like, a new insight into
what the definition of Ihsan is.
You worship Allah as if you see him,
and if you can't manage that, then remember
that he sees you and you give him
your best in your worship. But when you
said that,
I realized that
Allison is not just watching me
so that
I
don't mess up.
He sees me,
and he's with me.
And
some you know, even a a person,
just having them there is comforting.
Mhmm. So
the one who
watches you when you stand in prayer.
And he also watches
you when you go about
among the people who are worshipping Allah.
So whether you are worshiping Allah alone or
among people,
Allah is watching you, not just, you know,
watching over you as well.
Right?
It's incredible.
It it just conveyed, like, such closeness that
that, Maria, the
the witness.
Mhmm.
Go ahead.
My selection
for today is, an ayah from Surah Rahman.
Hal
Jaza.
Yani, can the reward of goodness be any
other than good? Like, this
verse gives me so much hope
that, like, after all the struggles,
all, like, being, you know, steadfast and, you
know, with family, with friends,
like, what else can be the reward except
for goodness? Like,
So, yeah, that I I I wanted to
share that.
For the reminder.
Sister Bilquis, go ahead.
Before I start, I would like to thank
all of you.
Reward all of you, all the team, everybody.
Everybody.
May Allah answer you all your duha and
make it easy for you as that
you can just say it hasn't been easy.
And,
I'll I personally did benefit a lot a
lot a lot a lot from the 30
days.
It may sound silly. I didn't feel lonely
as,
thing happened where I live, and I had
in my mind I'm not going to the
masjid.
And
I think I did make the right decision,
and, then I joined 360,
and I didn't feel that I'm on my
own.
And,
it did worry me. It did the past
few days, I've been thinking about it. What
happened now?
Ramadan finish. I don't want to lose it.
I want I don't want to lose that
beautiful feeling of Ramadan.
And, I'm trying my best,
to persevere. And this today's session
has benefited me, and
we I do carry on.
I mean,
By the way,
Stella, Timmy, I was listening to one of
your
YouTube videos this morning.
I think it's
Stella,
something like that. And you are talking about
your journey to the Quran
from your childhood.
It did
take me back
as,
my daughter was homeschooling,
and believe me, she went through the same
difficulty that you did.
And I was saying, Hase, you got to
listen to it and you can panic.
It's not it's not easy.
It's not easy.
May Allah make it easy for all of
you. May Allah answer all your
Okay.
Vicky.
I'd love to take more reflections, but I
also want to be considerate of the time.
Habsa,
I believe there is a Kahoot as well.
I don't know. It's Kahoot, and it's gonna
take us really close to the end of
the hour. I I wanna take one more
reflection if that's okay,
I'm sorry. I wish we could take everybody.
There you guys are just, like, throwing it
out of the park, but I'll take Suri
from Australia.
Our Padlet queen, who's been with us this
entire month. So, inshallah, one more reflection, and
then we'll jump into.
Sorry. Go ahead. I was hoping you just
bypassed me with all those hands up already.
You know?
For such
luck.
Everyone.
First of all, thank you very much
for
these last 30 days. I'm gonna start ugly
crying. I've gone crying not to.
I had to write down my notes because
I'd there's the you know, we talk about
steadfastness.
I moved away from my family
about a year over a year ago, so
doing my Ramadan again on my own,
there was a lot of challenges with that,
and I struggled
to stay
firm with my beliefs, with reading the Quran.
And, you know, work was a challenging,
was a challenge on its own as well,
you know, especially in in the Western society.
I found that, you know, I tried to
take breaks to to do my sunnah during
lunchtime and and, you know, the people that
would just kept getting in the way.
And then there were days where I couldn't
go to Tarawee,
and I missed that because I used to
go Tarawee with my family every single night.
I did a bunch of prayer with my
parents. I opened my dad at the mosque
every single morning.
But then there was a session, I couldn't
remember who it was who it was,
about, you know, whenever I felt lonely and
praying, and I said, you know, I'm so
not used to praying on my own. Then
one of the I think one of the
chef mentioned about you don't you're not praying
alone. You're actually you've got my lake up
with you, you know, the sides of mountains.
And ever since then,
whenever I get
lost or feel lost and I feel like,
you know,
am I doing the right thing? Am I
in the right path? I just remind myself
that I've got that protection and, you know,
and it just confirms it just confirms that
for me in my heart that no matter
where I am,
you know, if I'm surrounded by a 1000000
people or if I'm standing alone,
I have that one consistency in my life
and that's Allah and I'm I'm grateful for
that. And I'm grateful for these sessions because
this is what reminds me and keeps my
strength and my bond sorry. My bond and
my connection strengthened with, with the Quran as
well.
And I would like to, advise every single
one of you here
that carry on your journey with the book
of Allah
because the book of Allah
is the source of istikamal.
It's it it is through the book of
Allah that you learn what you're supposed to
do. It is the book of Allah that
guides you,
to, you know, correcting yourself.
It uplifts you when you feel down.
It strengthens your bond with your lord.
It
guides you back when you get lost.
Live life with the Quran,
not just reciting it but also
reflecting on it, learning it,
because this is the book which Allah has
sent for our guidance.
You see, in Surat Al Fatiha, we ask
Allah
Right? Guide us to the straight path.
Right after that, in Surat Al Baqarah, Allah
tells
us
that this is a book in which there
is no doubt and it is guidance for
the people who have taqul. This
book is what is the guidance that Allah
has sent us to show us what the
straight path is and how to stick to
it.
And,
Allah
says about those people that they are
upon guidance and they are the ones who
are successful.
May
Allah make us among them.
For, putting up with me for 30 days
in a
row.
Accept anything that was
pleasing to him and,
pardon
and forgive for anything
that was,
wrong or any mistake or anything that was
not appropriate.
And I ask Allah
to accept from you as well
and to join us together,
in his company,
in in in paradise, in in halakat,
in gatherings where
we remember
these gatherings.
Reward you and the entire team,
whom we see and also those we don't
see who have made,
this program possible,
who have worked so hard, so long, for
so many days.
Bless all
of the staff, those we know and also
those we don't know.
I'm not gonna go I'm not gonna do
a long outro because I I could speak
about this forever, but the impact that you've
had is indescribable. And, honestly, the the what
an honor to be the person that guides
people to the love of the Quran and
the book of Allah
and it's just we're so grateful to have
you have every single day this Ramadan. I
don't think we could have asked that of
any other instructor.
They would have laughed at us, but, alhamdulillah,
you took us on this journey. You gave
up time with your family right before iftar,
and your time with your community, and we're
so grateful for you for this. And we
look forward to continuing this journey with you
through multiple avenues inshallah, but may Allah make
it accepted form of bibada for you. May
Allah make it a source of you and
your loved
ones to enter into janata. And may Allah
reunite you with all those that you have
lost and continue,
to to unite us inshallah in this world
in the hereafter.
Here, I'm saying I'm not getting emotional. I'm
not gonna get emotional, and I'm already losing.
Suri, you kicked us off on on the
worst note.
That to say,
Insha'Allah, we still have the rest of the
program to go. We still a Kahoot. I
do wanna plug in some reminders and note
not everyone will be to to stay, and
I'm some of you are already in Eid.
Eid Mubarak to all of you who are
taking some time out of your preparations to
be with us,
in your morning time or your late evening
time. May I all reward you and accept
from you for continuing this journey all the
way to the bittersweet ending. A reminder for
those who have a little bit of time
remaining and you wanna maximize and you wanna
to just throw in just a little bit
another another coin in the bucket of your
rewards, please do,
final like, end the Ramadan with that beautiful
journey with us and continue to support at
amalogrib.org
forward slash donate. I promise that's one of
the last times you're ever gonna hear that
from me, at least for this this round.
Drop that once again in the chat. Whatever
amount you can give, just make sure that
you end off the month as you intend
to be. Have all your deeds accepted, and
we've been reminded so many times that charity
is the best way to to guarantee acceptance
of your deeds and your efforts and your
du'as. So may I accept from all of
you? It's been such I I like I
mentioned earlier, it has been a very bittersweet
celebration,
to be finishing off Ramadan, to have Eid
coming up on one side. Of course, we
all know our hearts have been breaking as
we're watching the abuse, the slaughter, the genocide
of our beloved brothers and sisters in Palestine,
and all the other places that are struggling
in Yemen and Sudan and so many parts
of the Muslim globe that are suffering. And
we're trying our best to alleviate their suffering
as you guys have been through our amazing
charity sponsors and through,
as all of your personal efforts as Muslims
as well through HHRD in the US, Islamic
Relief in Canada, forgotten women in the UK,
and so many others.
For being so generous with them. Please do
keep them in their duas as well. And
I hope that we were able to give
you some source sort of solace,
some sort of guidance, some answers to those
questions that were wracking your minds, and some
strength to move forward outside of this month.
Just remember please to keep steadfast. These can
anything that that you wanna have accepted, continue
it so that you have that that that
sign of of acceptance Insha'Allah
and make sure that you're continuing your struggle
for the Ummah, for freeing Palestine to end
the genocide and to continue your seeking your
your knowledge seeking journey because that is what's
going to be ultimately raising your ranks and
allowing us to on the same level of
Jannah. Jannah to for those
With that said, I do wanna jump into
the kahoot.
I do recommend for those of you who
are you've been talking about beneficial reminders and
missing that kind of barakah that you've had
on your feeds in all of Ramadan. Do
make sure you follow Amalgam on social media
and do what, Sheikh Omar didn't wanna do.
What's that word? Turn on your post notifications,
like, comment, subscribe, do all those fun stuff
so that you can continue to be part
of the journey. And, I know many of
you already are on there, so make sure
you share that with others as well. With
that said, I know some people wanna win
these all access passes. We'll have a couple
bit couple more reminders at end, but we'll
just quickly jump into our final Kahoot of
Ramadan 360. You guys know the drill. Just
like to look here to our MVPs in
the chat who are always guiding everybody else
and making it possible. Yes. Hit that notification
bell on social media. It's kahoot.it.
That's the link there for you guys to
join inshallah. Once again, someone's already dropped into
the chat. The game pin is 768665.
768665.
Alright. Jazak Malekar, I see multiple people have
already joined us. Oh, wow. Okay. That was
fast.
I see some familiar names. We got Ruhi.
We got we got Raghad. Some okay. It's
moving too fast. We got Iman. We got
Hulia. We got
Fatima from Texas. We got Leila. We got
Julia Wati. Wow. Julia Wati, you're still here?
Julia Wati, isn't it literally Eid for you?
Is joining in from the from the Masjid
probably.
And Suri as well. I was wondering when
did when did, you know, Australia declare?
Solange, of course, we got Ziba. Solange, it's
almost cheating for you to to for you
to be in these.
You've taken so many among group courses. You
probably know all these answers off by heart.
From Michigan. Okay. So we'll keep this open,
inshallah.
We'll let you guys keep joining, but I
don't wanna I know because we're already well
past time, and, of course, this is our
final session, so I should have warned you
guys. But let's let's allow you to keep
joining inshallah, but I'll get started. So the
game pin one more time, 768665.
The website is kahoot.it.
Join in from a separate device so that
you can see my screen. The speed and
accuracy is the name of the game inshallah.
Let's jump right in to the first question.
I can't remember what these questions were. So
I hope
that okay. So it's the right. It's
kahoot number 4. Our final one, 321.
Let's see what the first question is.
How can you achieve
excellence is the first question. Your options are
by bringing to Allah as if you can
see him, by being good to your family,
by working hard at your workplace, or all
of the above. There's a little shifty. There's
a few, you know, tricky questions in here.
So just,
try to be as as smart as you
can, but as fast as you can with
these responses. A lot of you guys all
have already jumped in and responded. So let's
see who got the correct answers. All of
the above was the correct answer. I know
it was a little tricky with the first
one being so obvious, but all of the
above was the correct answer. Let's see with
the scoreboard. Oh, Abdul Hasid.
Nice to see you at the top. Dalreen,
Mariam, Omer, and Fatima.
Great to see you all on the board.
Let's see who wins. How many times is
the root word zuhd found in the
Quran? Is it 8 times? Is it one
time? Is it 10 plus times, or is
it 2 times? Let's hope. I think we
even mentioned when this was mentioned that this
was probably gonna be a Kahoot question. I
hope that some of y'all were were listening
at that time and that you caught on.
You got 5 seconds left on the clock.
How many times did it mention? 8, 1,
10, or 2. Use your gut if you
haven't answered already. And
okay. 21 people got it right, but it
was very oh, wow. It was very split
equally.
Now I wonder what this board looks like.
Let's see. Let's see. And that's what I
thought. Mario, welcome to the top of the
sea. We believe you can make it back
on there. Inshallah, Nemo, shout out to you.
Go sir AM and Julia Wathy, which, again,
I don't know. I'm pretty sure someone told
me it was even Malaysia right now. Can
hope and fear be harmful? Is that it's
a true or false, answer question. Is it
yes or no? Can hope and fear be
harmful?
We had a whole session on this. We
went deep we deep dived into it. I
know 75 of you feel confident with this
answer.
Can't hope and feel be harmful. Yes or
no. We'll give you one more chance before
we move on to the next question.
And, yes, majority of you got it. I
know that was confusing.
And I'm really curious to see what this
board looks like now, subhanallah, after that one.
Nemo at the top, Allahu Akbar.
I don't know what Nemo's gonna do with
an all access pass knowing that she already
has an all access pass.
Koser, AM, Mariam, and Julia Wati. That's okay.
Neema, you can bless somebody else close to
you. A millionaire can be detached from the
dunya. The next question, 4 of 19. Is
that true or false? Can a millionaire truly
be detached from the dunya? Is this a
trick question? Is this an easy one? We
went into some some different examples of this.
We went to some so I know some
of you guys have an initial reaction that
you might have. Is that the correct reaction?
Let's see who gets this correct. 83 answers
in. One second left. And the correct answer
was true.
Yes. A millionaire can be detached from the
dunya. Sorry to those who are a little
tripped up by this, and it keeps shifting.
Okay. This is gonna be a wild ride.
Coasters at the top. Julia Wathi is up
there. I know that was a little tricky
because we've talked a lot about wealth and
and and attaining Jannah and and all that
kind of stuff. So I see why it
was tricky, but, Mariam, AM, Nemo. Nemo's still
on the board. We have faith. Abdul Azim,
we're looking out for you. Without Allah's help
and mercy, who couldn't find guidance? Without Allah's
help and mercy, who couldn't find guidance? Muslims,
followers of Islam,
prophets, or all of the above?
Without his help and mercy, who couldn't find
guidance? Is this an easy one? Is it
a direct question? I'm
pretty sure many of you are gonna get
this correct. I'm hoping at least.
Sorry. I can't see the chat. I'm sure
that's entertaining. All of the above was correct.
Alhamdulillah.
Wasn't super tricky. I hope most of you
guys felt good about that one. And there's
another shift. We got Koser at the top.
AM, Julia Wati, Nemo, Farida. Julia Wati is
like, if I'm gonna miss my salah, I'm
gonna at least make it count.
Let's see what the next question is. Which
is the greatest reward you can get?
Jannah, is it Alfredo's? Is it to see
a lot? Is it all of the above?
I know you're trying to be fast with
it, but
not all things are equal.
Not all of these things are not equal.
That's why you can see all of them
on at the same time.
So but you have to talk about the
greatest reward that you can get, not just
a great one. Let's see if that's tripped
up people.
It did trip up a lot of people.
To see a lot is the greatest reward
you can get. All these things are great,
but to see a lot, that is the
peak. That is the creme de la creme
of existence. So 19 people got that. Apologies
to those. By the way, I don't choose
which ones are correct or incorrect. Okay? That
is our amazing,
Kahoot creator. I'm not gonna throw under the
most this time, but,
many of you guys still got that. Kothar
Abdul Hasid, Siha, AM, and Jilil Watie is
still there. Still there.
You guys are still shifting so much. 7
out of 19, there's still any opportunity for
somebody to take the cake. What are the
essential elements required for Allah to accept an
act of worship?
Is it faith and obedience? Is it charity
and fasting? Is it sincere intention and correct
action? Is it recitation and devotion? Again,
be very careful. All of these are good
things.
But which is the best? And which exactly
specifically to be mentioned in a session of
Ramadan 360? 60, which are the essential elements
required for Allah to accept an act of
worship. 78 people. I know some people were
tripped up there. Sincere intention and correct action.
Okay. I'm glad that didn't that didn't trip
up too many.
Let's see what this board looks like. Okay.
People still shifting up and down. Go, sir
Abdulaziz holding on to the lead as I
knew Abdulaziz would make it back.
Nemo's still up there. Siha and Julia Wafi,
shout out to you all. Let's see what
the next question is. All past to goodness
are through Allah and your access is through
du'a,
fasting,
zakah, or none of the above.
All paths to goodness are through Allah and
your access is through again, you had to
be there for a specific session to know
this answer or hopefully your gut is telling
you correctly. One of these things, one of
these pillars are is your access to Allah.
Let's see
who got that. Okay.
Most of you guys were got that correct.
Dua was the correct answer.
Let's see if that shifted anything here. Okay.
Koser Aldous Ablaze used to holding it, but
Nuno made a jump.
And Siha are are are juggling each other
for these, scoreboard,
roles. Let's see what the next question is.
No one can enter Jannah without Allah's mercy,
but what is the prerequisite for his mercy?
That is a question. Love for his creation
is the first option. Hope is the second.
3rd is your deeds, and 4th is none
of the above. What is the prerequisite
for Allah's mercy?
Specifically,
his mercy
mentioned again in a session. I hope that
a lot of people get this because these
are all great answers,
but your deeds was the correct answer.
I hope that that didn't trip up anybody,
but let's look at this board. Let's look
at this board. Oh,
check out a lot of people. Okay. So
coast are still holding on to that lead.
Nemo's made a jump. Dhulioati's made a jump.
AM made a jump, and Fatima has made
a jump.
I can't remember if any of you have
won a prefect previous cahoot. One thing I
should say, if you want a pre the
previous cahoot, you might be disqualified from this
one just to make it fair to everybody.
But you can still be the number 1.
You can still be the winner. We might
just have to give it to the second
person so that it's fair so that everyone
gets a chance inshallah. Is an easy question.
Zagat al Fitr must be paid,
before Ramadan, before Eid, after Eid, or none
of the above. This was not my zagat
al Fitr that I had question that I
had to search on paid essentials,
mind you. But let's see if they got
it before Eid is the correct answer. Alhamdulillah,
and I hope that that was helpful. I
think this was mentioned in the fact when
I specifically, so I'm glad that you guys
caught that. Scoreboard. Coaster still holding on to
that lead really strong. Nemo Joliwaki is still
on there. Fatima's made her jump and Tawhid
jumped back onto the board. Welcome back, Tawhid.
Let's see. Question 11 of 19. How many
gates to Jannah are there?
Is there 1 gate? Is there 3? Is
there 8? Or is there 7?
Hopefully, you guys have heard this throughout your
childhood many times in your life in shot
line. This is a reminder question. But in
case you also remember it from one of
our sessions recently, let's see if you get
it. Is it
1387?
Who gets that right? And I hope that's
the majority of you. Eighty answers in. Zero
seconds left. 50 people got it. Correct. There
are 8 Gates agenda.
50 people got that question correct.
Let's see how that board looks like. Okay.
So Khosar Nima Jiliwati still there. Fatima still
there. Made a bit of a jump. She's
wrestling for these,
for these top three spots.
Good job, Let's see if anybody else just
shifts things with this next one. Practically, which
one is more important? Is it hope? Is
it fear? Again, this is from a session
that we had on hope and fear. Both
both but lean to the one that you
need most depending on the circumstances or both
no matter the circumstances. Should you always have
a strong amount of hope, a strong amount
of fear? Should they be 5050?
Should they go up and down depending on
what you need at that time? Or is
it just one or the other? Is it
just hope it's just fear?
42 of you guys got that. I know
that was a little trippy,
but 42, you guys remember the answer from
our session, and let's look at the scoreboard.
Koser still holding on strong to that lead.
Julia Watti made a jump. Fatima made a
jump. Abdelhassim is back. Abdel Hasid just keeps
teasing us up and down. He comes on
the board and leaves the board. He look.
He comes on the board and leaves the
board. BMO's still holding on. Shout out to
all of you guys. Let's give some brother
let's give some support to brother Al Nasiv.
Let's help him out inshallah. How many levels
of Jannah are there? Maybe some Ta'az would
help.
How many levels of Jannah, not gates, levels
of Jannah? Is there 1? Is there 10?
Is there 7? Is there a 100?
Hopefully, this was
most most of you guys hopefully got this
again mentioned in one of our sessions.
I don't wanna give too much away.
Eighty answers in 0 seconds and 100
was the correct answer. Not level not heavens,
not skies, levels of Jannah. 28 people got
it. I'm just kinda scared to see this
board now. Let's see. Oh, okay. No. Not
nothing shifted. You guys are paying attention.
Salange
made it up. Salange, did you not just
win the last one?
Salange, I'm gonna disqualify you about disqualify you
just for that. No. I'm joking.
Congratulations to Salange. Who cannot enter Jannah without
Allah's mercy? Is it Muslims? Is it non
Muslims? Is it prophets? Is it both a
and c? Read that carefully.
A is Muslims. B is non Muslims.
C is prophets.
D is both a and c, which is
Muslims and prophets.
Who cannot enter Jannah without Allah's mercy?
Both a and c is correct. You gotta
get me stressed for a second. Okay.
I was worried that non Muslims would trip
you guys up. Okay. Both a and c
is correct. You have to be Muslim first.
You can't be a non Muslim to enter
Jannat, so that is the correct answer. Let's
see.
Okay.
Fatima made a jump there. She was maybe
a bit more confident, maybe a little bit
faster. Julia Wath, Abdul Hasid. Rajab. Shout out
to Rajab. Congratulations on making it to the
board. Masha'Allah. Who is the first female Amalgam
instructor? Instructor? We threw you a bone. We
did mention this when introducing them. You mentioned
a couple of times.
Is it? Is it?
Is
it?
Let us see. One person paved the way
for the rest. Inshallah, may Allah facilitate it
for us to have many more female instructors.
All the ones that we have are incredible
in the way that they uniquely touch our
hearts and connect us to his religion. And
the correct answer was Ustadh Yassmin
Mujahid. I cannot believe some folks got Usasa
Sarazulutan who's our latest among our instructor.
But you'll have chance to to benefit from
all of them.
Joined us, I think, over a decade ago,
and
it's been going strong ever since. Go okay.
Okay. The leaderboard is still feeling good, and
Raja has had a streak with 12 correct
answers. Dang, Raja. You should be faster with
the pressing.
Let's give one more couple more opportunities to
get on the board. It's a multi select.
Which of Ishiyuk is a recent Amangrib instructor
in the last 2 years?
If you get this wrong, I don't know
what to tell you. Sheikh Saad Taslim,
Sheikh Omar Saliman,
Sheikh Omar Hadrouj,
or Sheikh Mohammed Al Shinawy. This one's an
easy one because either of them either of
them either of them either of them could
be correct. It could be multiple of them
could be correct, but it's not all of
them. Let's see who gets that Insha'Allah.
53 answers in oh, not a lot of
people. Okay. Perfect. Okay. Good. Good. Good. Most
of you got that. Sheikh Sattaslim is not
a recent Almagomed instructor. I was there when
Sheikh Sattaslim got introduced as an instructor, and
I was a child. So it's been a
while. Okay? Sheikh Omar Sanamani, same thing. Over
a decade I think it's been since 2011,
Mashallah, he's been with us. Sheikh Omar Khadouj
and Sheikh Hamdish Shanaue are both recent. Sheikh
Omar is teaching his first on-site seminar in
Seattle inshallah, and Sheikh Hamdish Nawdish Nawdish just
recently taught it in New York. Look out
for them. They are powerhouses.
The future of Amoghar is bright because of
these amazing new instructors that are join joining
us. Gautar is holding on tight to that
lead. But Gautar, watch out. That's like a
40 40 point difference between you and Julia
Wafi. She's got that Eve morning energy. She
probably ate some great sweets. Fatima Abdul Hasib
still holding on. Rajab doing great.
Let's see how many gates to Jahannam are
there. 17 of 19. I'm trying to drag
this on a little bit. I know it's
almost 7. We've, like, completely broken all the
Ramadan 360 timing rules. We're just letting it
all out for this final session to all
those who are still with us at this
very end of the series. 9 seconds left.
How many gates to Jahannam are there? Okay.
This is slightly different from Jannah. Is it
1? Is it 3? Is it 7? Is
there 8? May Allah protect us and prevent
us from attending any entry from any of
them. I mean,
7 of you sorry. 7 was a correct
answer. 45 people got it correct. Let's see
if that tripped up any of the leaders.
Oh, it did.
Oh my god. That was the one thing
that broke Koser's lead. So Julia Wati is
now at number 1. Fatima Khosar Rajab and
Abdulhassib.
Allahu Akbar. It's still anybody's game. 18 of
19. You've seen how many times Abdul has
come on and off this board. Anybody can
do this inshallah. Last couple of opportunities. What
is detachment from Dunia in Islam? Is staying
away from worldly affairs?
Is it enjoying life without getting distracted from
your true purpose in this world? Is it
living in a place when there aren't as
many people so you can just focus on
salah 247? Or is it all of the
above? Is it all of these things equally
correct? What is detachment from dunya in Islam?
Let's see. Okay.
Oh, that was a little confusing for some
people. Oh, I'm a little scared. So we
got all of the above and we got
enjoying life without distracted from your true purpose
in this world. I had to do your
because I ran out of characters. So I
hope that didn't confuse people that he was
grammatically incorrect.
Okay. Let's see.
So we got oh, okay. So Fatima has
jumped up. That's incredible.
Is still number 2 number 2. Number 3
is Kota. Although, the Siva is still fighting
for these for these top few spots, and
Rajeb is still on the shout out to
Rajeb.
Look at these streaks. And 3 players just
hit answer streak 12. That's incredible. Shout out
to all of you guys who are getting
these questions correct.
Our deeds are fair compensation for Jannah is
our final question.
Hopefully we ended on an easy one. Our
deeds are a fair compensation
for Jannah. Is that correct
or is that incorrect? Is that true? Is
that false?
Let's come full circle and see what our
answers are Insha'Allah.
One second left.
And
false is the correct answer. Our deeds are
not a fair compensation for Jannah. We can
never enter we can never,
attain Jannah through our efforts. It's the mercy
of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. I know that
was a little confusing.
But now I'm just scared to see what
this final podium it is it honestly, this
time, it's actually a mystery to me with
how much it's been moving. Okay. Number 3
is Kosir.
Kosir was holding number 1 for the longest
time. Julia Wathy is number 2. Masha'Allah, that
sacrifice paid off was number 1. And Fatima,
that was a disruption. Shout out to you
Fatima.
Congratulations
for winning our final Kahoot at Ramadan 360.
But I have a bit of a surprise
because it is our final final final session.
All 3 of you are gonna be getting
all access passes inshallah. So to you all.
For your consistency, for remembering, for everyone who's
doing the streaks. I know not everyone could
could could get a prize, but all of
you guys are winners in our eyes.
Shout out to all of you. It's incredible
to see how far we've made it, Alhamdulillah,
together. Please, again, email info at amangrib.org
to get hooked up. Now keep in mind,
a lot of us aren't on Eid holidays.
Our Singapore, Malaysia crowd are are already on
Eid. So, you might not hear back for
a couple days, but we'll make sure that
you guys get your all access access pass.
And to all 3 of you and to
all of you who've been part of this
experience, who retain the knowledge, who've been implementing
it as best as possible, may Allah give
you the strength to continue. Shout out once
again to our amazing sponsors, HHRD in the
US, Islamic Relief in Canada, and Forgotten Women
in the UK. You guys are gonna have
this this this running in your head all
the time
now. And just remember this journey is not
over yet. This is just a momentary pause.
Yes. Ramadan is over. We're gonna continue with
the lessons that we've learned, the barakah that
we built into our lives, the the community
that we built, But Amalgib is still here.
Amalgib continues. The good work continues, and this
the journey of seeking knowledge continues. So please
do join us inshallah. Support us as you
are final you know, entering your final few
less than a few hours left for for
Maghrib inshallah for your final day of Ramadan.
If you are still in it, support us
generously, continue with us inshallah. We mentioned so
many programs no matter what kind of stage
of life that you're at, no matter what
kind of experience that you're looking for insha'Allah
we have something for you so that you
can feel connected to your deen, fall in
love with it, fall in love with
the the book of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
And
please keep our amazing staff, our amazing instructors,
our volunteers and the Amalgir family at large
in your Dua'az. We're all here, Alhamdulillah, because
Allah guided us here and what a generous
Lord that he has been with us. Just
a couple of final shout outs, please stick
with me before I get a little over
overwhelmed as you can tell it's it's quite,
an intense moment as it always is, but,
just remember please that also after Ramadan inshallah,
after your, you know, request to the panel
so far, many of you wanted to continue
the helping and the supporting that you've been
doing in Ramadan. So we just set up
a a link for, Friday giving. If you
wanna continue that journey inshallah, you wanna hold
on to that. It won't kick in until
this Friday or I think the the Friday
after. But make that weekly habit of supporting
this amazing institution for all the things that
it's done and make it a sadaqa jaria
for you throughout the year. Inshallah, I just
dropped that link here in the chat.
Please, do if you feel free to if
you wanna follow along on my journey that's
not Amazgib related, I look forward to hopefully
meeting you all in person and connecting with
you guys. And I know many of you
have sent social media requests and stuff that
that I keep private, but I do have
one public channel, which I haven't posted in
forever, but long I have a lot of
plans for it inshallah. If you wanna keep
up, it's called Hijabi nomad on YouTube, and
some of you guys have have come overcome
or come across it over the years. Alhamdulillah.
I hope to benefit and connect with you
guys through there. And just a reminder as
well, on behalf of the Amagrib staff, the
instructors, the volunteers, the entire family,
to you all.
For being with us. We look forward to
continuing this journey with you, and you are
all in our duas.
And, yes,
Insha'Allah, we'll see you all very soon. Jazakam
al Khair for all the kindness and the
generosity that you guys have, you know, been
giving to us in the chat and encouragement
and motivation, please do complete that survey, and
we'll see you guys very soon for now.
Take care. Stay happy. Stay healthy. Stay safe.
Make the offer that our brothers and sisters
in Palestine and all around the world to
be happy happy and healthy and safe one
final time.
