The "Gracious journey" involves a woman named Frank citing dissatisfaction with her "Gracious journey" and how it affects her personal life. The segment discusses the importance of humans being aware of their natural language and the natural language of their father. The segment also touches on the importance of shaping one's life to make it more successful and fulfilling.
AI: Summary ©
I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed
Satan, in the name of Allah, Most Gracious,
Most Merciful.
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most
Merciful.
We are going to continue our journey through
the Divine Names of Allah.
And the Names of Allah is the greatest
journey.
And as we said at the very beginning,
as we mentioned at the very beginning, is
that the journey through the Names of Allah
is a never-ending story.
It starts in this dunya, but never ends.
Because Allah has created a world that has
been created to know Him forever and ever.
And this is exactly what makes the people
of Paradise happy.
Because every time, every single second, they know
Allah more and more and more.
And today we want to talk about one
of the Names of Allah, and this Name
is Al-Musawwir.
The Name of Allah SWT, Al-Musawwir.
And before translating the Name, I want to
give you an example.
Like, for example, today I look very tired.
I am not sick, I am tired.
So you can see this with eye bags,
maybe I am a bit pale.
I am really exhausted today.
So SubhanAllah, I looked at myself in the
mirror after performing Wudu, and I said, I
changed.
I said, I don't look like the same
as I was this morning or two days
ago.
Like, all of a sudden, I am different.
So I said, why not talk about the
One that shapes, the One that forms, the
One that transforms Allah SWT.
So, while looking in the mirror, I said,
okay, we will talk about the One that
transforms, even on one face, so many different
faces.
So, I want to give an example of
Allah SWT saying in Surah An-Naba, He
says, وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا Of the night, we
have made the night a libas, a garment.
So now the Fuqaha or the Ulama, the
Mufassirun, they say, why did Allah SWT say
that night was like a garment?
Why?
What is happening?
Well, my teacher, doctora, she was a woman
at Zarqa University.
She was one of my teachers in Arabic.
She was very strong in her domain.
And she gave us tafsir from a linguistic
point of view.
And she sat with us and she said,
Ibn al-Jinni, he is one of the
great scholars, he gave an example.
And I will give you the same example
with a bit of extras.
Like, look at me now.
Maybe tonight, when it's around 10, I won't
be sitting up straight.
I will be going like this.
And then my eyes will start rolling.
And then my wife will say, isn't it
better for you to go to sleep?
And I say, no, I want to stay
awake.
You know, a small child never wants to
go to bed.
And in a happy marriage, you want to
stay awake.
So I say, no, I want to stay
awake.
So anyway, time goes by and I start
looking really pale.
I can't even control my movements.
Even the way I talk is entirely different.
And then when I go to bed and
I wake up, it is like I am
a different person.
Less eye bags.
My eyes are not as red.
My movements are different.
The way I speak, the way I think,
the way I walk, the way I talk,
everything is different.
It is as if night is a garment.
It comes to give you a new you.
وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَةِ بَاسًا And of the night, we
made a garment.
Look at people when they are tired and
look when they wake up.
Energy.
Here I am again.
Not only this, during the night we have
so many things that Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala removes from our brain which we need
to remove out of our brain like cleaning
the drive.
How do you call that?
What?
No, not dry clean.
You can dry clean your brain.
Reformat, exactly.
So all the impressions that we had and
that we do not need in our brain
is erased during sleep.
So now what we need to understand when
we speak about Al-Musawwir, the one that
shapes, the one that designs, the one that
gives form to things, is not only within
the tangible dimension, it is also in different
dimensions.
And this is what we want to talk
about.
Look at your life now.
Look at the way you are now.
Like if I would put your three old
you next to you now, maybe here not,
the children, but next to you, you would
look at it and say, OK, this is
not me.
Where is my beard?
Where is my length?
Where is my intelligence?
Where is my vocabulary?
Everything is different.
Like that person when you were three years
old and the person you are now are
two different people.
And you went through it gradually, exactly as
day and night.
Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala says, don't you
see how gradually night enters into the day
and day enters into the night?
Imagine yourself driving in your car with your
sunglasses Gucci or whatever, and you put them
on, you drive your car, you enter into
a tunnel, and while you are in the
tunnel, it was light, and you come out
and it's dark.
How many road accidents would we have?
Still with your sunglasses, oh it's night, boom,
finished.
So in the same way that Allah Subhanahu
wa ta'ala does everything gradually, all for
us, not for him, that's the same thing
which is happening to us.
And this is why Allah Subhanahu wa ta
'ala says, Oh you human being, What has
made you ignorant of your generous Lord?
Generous in what?
The one that created you.
Surah, you see this?
He has formed you in any shape that
he has wanted.
And this is why the only thing that
we can do as humans, you know what
it is?
It is becoming fatter or more skinny.
That's the only thing we can do.
We can't become larger in our bones.
We can't become taller.
The only thing we can do is eat
more, eat less.
Fat, not fat.
Fat, not fat.
That's the only thing.
The rest Allah has done for us.
So what does he say now?
He says that he has formed us, shaped
us, and he says that this is a
reason why we should be grateful.
Why?
SubhanAllah, Imam Al-Razi, Rahimahullah Azawajal, in his
tafsir, he says about the verse, وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ
And from amongst these signs is خَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ
وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافُ أَلْسِلَتِكُمْ وَأَلْوَانِكُمْ And from amongst these
signs is the differences in your tongues, the
way you talk, and in your color.
Tongue, the way you talk, and color.
Not only in the way you talk, also
the voice.
My voice is not like your voice.
I don't see you.
You call me, Hey, Suleiman, how are you?
How do you know it's me?
Not just because my name is there.
You even look, Hey, Suleiman, how are you?
My little boy, Laith.
I say, Laith, he knows it's me.
Imagine if you wouldn't recognize voices.
Everybody's voice would be the same.
And you call your child.
You say, darling, come here.
And she says, yes, dad.
No, it's not dad.
Okay, yes, brother.
It's not brother.
She wouldn't know.
Communication would be so difficult.
But Al-Musawwir shaped your voice.
SubhanAllah.
We all have the same flesh, the same
blood, the same instruments that we use to
talk.
Why is my voice different?
I don't know.
I don't understand.
They will say, yeah, vibrations, this and that.
But at the end of the day, it's
flesh and blood.
That's it.
Ajeeb.
So now, not only the voice is different,
the sound of the voice, but languages.
Do you know what a language is?
It's just using the same letters in a
different order.
The same letters in a different order.
And you can't understand each other.
You know?
When you think about it, how can this
small cave, which is called the mouth, contain
so many different languages with the same tongue,
same palate, same teeth, same vibrations, and air?
Yassalam.
Al-Musawwir.
He shapes what he likes, when he likes,
and how he likes, so that we would
understand that the impossible is not impossible for
him.
Inna Allaha ala kulli shayin qadeer.
And didn't Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala say
that he's qadireena ala an-nusawwiya banana?
Weren't we capable and qadir, almighty, to create
his fingertips?
Subhanallah.
Look at how small this is.
I ask you to bring me one million.
Just one million.
One million designers.
And you ask them all to make a
different drawing on this size.
It is impossible.
How are you going to do this?
But nevertheless, we got more than 7 billion
people.
They are all different.
On this, subhanallah, this here, makes them different.
This is not only how powerful he is,
but how much he loves you, because he
made you a separate identity.
This is how important you are.
So never say, I'm not important.
God doesn't like me.
Allah doesn't like me.
He likes you.
He made you unique.
You are unique.
You are unique.
ma gharraka bi rabbikal kareem What made you
ignorant of your generous Lord?
The same thing with the eyes.
When you look into the iris of the
eyes, now they scan your eyes, they know
who you are.
7 billion people.
And this is the surface.
This is impossible, but it's possible.
Why?
Because it's divine.
You see?
So now if you're going to look at
this, this is a musawwir.
This is what he is doing.
So now Imam Fakhruddin al-Razi says, there
are more differences on our face, this surface,
than there are different colors on the face
of the earth.
Pigmentation, everything.
Nobody's skin is exactly the same.
Pigmentation is a bit different.
So it won't be long before they just
need this to identify you.
Yes or no?
So at the end, when you say al
-musawwir, then you are actually this name.
What does it want from us?
It wants us to be God conscious at
every single moment.
You can't be ignorant of Allah, because in
everything you see, and in everything you do,
is a sign that He is your creator.
وَفِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ آيَةٍ تَدُلُّ عَلَىٰ أَنَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ
And in everything there is a sign that
shows that He is the one.
Even now, your shape, look, everybody's sitting back
straight.
While you are listening to me, are you
thinking about keeping your back straight?
You are not.
What is more difficult?
Do we say laying down or lying down?
There is a difference between laying and lying.
I don't mean lying lying.
To lay down something and to lie down.
So what is more difficult?
To sit straight or to lie down?
From an intellectual point of view, we would
say sitting straight is more difficult.
But about that which is more difficult, I
don't have to think.
If now I want to lay down, I
need to think, turn on my brain, and
then I can do it.
It's the opposite.
He is keeping your back straight without you
thinking about it.
And when you want to lay down, you
know why?
Because He is Al-Qayyum.
Al-Qayyum, the one that keeps everything straight
and is responsible over everything.
Same thing with the neck of a giraffe.
Its muscle is opposite.
She needs to force herself to bring the
neck down.
And the muscle is like this.
So she forces herself.
The opposite way, she wouldn't be able to
do so.
If she had to keep her neck straight
and think about it, she would die.
SubhanAllah.
All the lions would just go for her
neck.
Grab.
Khalas.
So if you now are going to look,
and if you look at an elephant for
example, where is its neck?
Which neck could bear the head of an
elephant?
The neck should be like this.
So the Musawwir, SubhanAllah, he thought about everything.
So instead of giving it a neck where
it can eat, not like a giraffe, because
it's not big or tall enough, he gave
it a trunk.
So that it can reach for it without
having a neck to go up or to
go down because it's too heavy.
So Al-Musawwir, SubhanAllah, he shows us that
nothing is coincidence and everything has been created
with perfect proportion.
Al-Musawwir, SubhanAllah.
So this is the first thing.
Look at creation and how everything is perfect
and unique.
People are unique.
Everybody is unique.
So we are not allowed to say that
he created us with hatred.
He created us with love.
Because the more you love someone, the more
you take care of him or her.
What do you say when your husband is
ignorant about you, he doesn't think about your
feelings?
You don't love me.
Why?
You don't take care of me.
Or the husband.
You don't love me anymore.
Why?
Before when I used to come home after
work, biryani was ready.
Now I have to wait 30 minutes.
It's not the same.
By the way, I don't eat biryani.
They told me in the beginning I was
always making jokes.
I came from Belgium and I was talking
about lasagna and everybody was looking at me,
lasagna?
Who eats lasagna?
So they said, say biryani, they will laugh.
So now every dusk I use biryani.
SubhanAllah.
Anyway, so it works as you see.
Allah, sorry.
So now, barakAllahu feekum.
When you look, then you see that Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala, He creates everything with
the correct proportion.
The Musawwir subhanahu wa ta'ala.
It's okay.
Okay.
Excuse me?
Do we Muslims, it's a question that I
ask, do we believe in coincidence?
Do we believe in coincidence?
Oh, it was there without any divine wisdom?
No.
Meaning, does anything, another question, happen in Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala's creation without Him wanting
it?
No.
Meaning, that when you go out, you go
out, you look at the shapes of the
clouds, is it coincidence?
Whose drawing is it?
Figuratively speaking, al-Musawwir.
And you alone can look at these drawings
from this particular perspective.
Nobody will look at me now from the
same dimension as you look at me now.
And me at you, nobody can look from
the same angle.
Meaning that, when we go, the shape of
the clouds, the color, they are especially for
you.
Even the way that the raindrops fall and
the way that they are formed and created,
that they play in the light of the
car, the car lights.
Everything is for you.
Everything you see, even the branch, this one
has one leaf, this one has two leaves,
He's showing us His love at every moment.
This is why He says, وَمَا تَسْقُطُ مِنْ
وَرَقَةٍ إِلَّا يَعْلَمُهَا There's not one single leaf
that falls down or He knows it.
Why?
Because everything is in the shape that He
wants.
And when it leaves its shape, it's because
the Shaper wants it.
So when you look at this, and you
look at the clouds and the color, SubhanAllah,
some people call me a Bedouin.
I went to university for my bachelor and
my master's.
But I prefer the Bedouin way.
What do I mean?
When I look at the clouds, and I
see they are blue, and then they are
yellow, and then they are red, especially with
Fajr, at Hanafi time, yellow.
So when you look at it, you say,
how does Allah do this?
Usually when you want to give something a
color, you need a surface.
When I want to paint something yellow, nothing
will happen.
Even in the air, yellow, red, purple, nothing.
Blue.
But when I look at the sky, yellow,
then it becomes a bit red, then it
becomes blue.
How, in Allah's name, can you paint something
which has no surface, and when you go
through it, it has no color?
The sky is blue, but when you fly
through the sky, you don't see it.
Where is the blue?
The blue is above me.
Okay, let's go higher.
I don't see it.
This is the Bedouin way of looking at
things.
And this makes your iman stronger.
I can go for science, yes, and the
gas, anyway, I don't care.
There is the scientific approach, which I do
not deny, but then there is really the
divine approach.
Say Allahu Akbar.
And this is what Allah says in Surah
Al-Mulk.
Don't they look at the sky?
How He beautified it.
And Allah says there are no holes.
Meaning, like, if we would leave the mosque
like this for 500 years, I'm sorry, then
most probably, it will be in need of
a new ceiling.
This ceiling, the divine ceiling, is always as
beautiful.
So Al-Musawwir, subhanahu wa ta'ala, he
wants us to look and to think and
to ponder.
One day, there it is, and you don't
know where it came from.
The same thing, when I open a seed,
a seed of an olive tree, or no,
a seed of an olive, and inside it
is a, how do you call it?
A pit, right?
I say pit?
Stone.
A stone.
You open the stone, you don't see anything.
But we think, oh, everything is normal, because
from a scientific point of view, this happens,
that happens.
Tell me what you like from a scientific
point of view.
You are observing and telling me what's happening.
But how does it really happen, and who
makes it happen?
I open the stone, nothing.
I put it in the ground, if I
crush it, it's gone.
If now I put it in the ground,
10 years later, a new tree, with olives,
with stones.
Subhanallah, this is a Musawwir.
He's doing and creating at all times, and
this is why he's asking us, like, did
you create it, or did we do it?
So now, Subhanallah, ajeeb.
This is why a person that believes that
Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala is a Musawwir,
one can't complain about his, the way he
or she looks.
Like now, today, everybody wants to be transformed.
Yes, my nose is to this, to that,
it's a bit too large, it's a bit
too hooky, it's a bit too large at
the front.
And now you can go to Dr. This,
Dr. That, you go for 3 minutes, and
boom, she breaks your nose, and you're happy.
Jawline, I'm a different person, here I am.
I'm not saying that all the things are
haram, of course there are specifications, but we're
not going to talk about this.
But anyway, we want to change everything.
Oh no, when I laugh, do you see
it?
I'm becoming older.
Of course you are.
Of course you are.
And at the end, they want to look
so young, that they look inhuman.
When they laugh, there's nothing.
When they cry, there's nothing.
Their eyes become smaller, their lips become thicker,
and their nose becomes thinner.
Why aren't we happy with Allah's creation?
Subhanallah, why aren't we happy?
So now, one, people complain about the way
they look, and secondly, when people praise them
for the way they look, they boast, as
if they have created themselves.
Oh brother, usually brothers don't say this to
each other, brother you have a nice nose,
oh thank you, yeah.
We usually say this, like what happened to
your nose, I got in a fight, you
know.
But sisters would say, oh sister, you have
a nice nose.
Or sister, are your eyebrows natural, they're so
thin?
So this is what they would say.
Oh yes, Alhamdulillah, it's in my genes, you
know, I was born with this, and we
start boasting.
Boasting about what?
You didn't create yourself.
Brother, you're so tall, you're so large, your
muscles, yes, Alhamdulillah.
What did you do?
Brother, you have a nice voice.
What did you do for your voice?
Nothing.
So when you know that Allah is a
Musawwir, you can't boast with anything that He
gave you.
Oh you have large hands, like a real
man.
Like if you have your boy growing up,
always, and of course a girl, but now
we're talking about boy, you see he's got
strong hands, strong feet, then you can say,
MashaAllah, Allah made you strong.
Stop saying, oh you're so beautiful, oh you're
so cute, oh you're so strong, oh you're
so intelligent.
You are feeding the ego.
Say, MashaAllah, Allah made you so beautiful.
Then all of a sudden he's going to
connect to Allah.
People always say, oh your baby got beautiful
eyes, got beautiful eyes, got beautiful eyes.
Where is Allah's role in this?
MashaAllah, Allah gave your baby or your child
beautiful eyes.
So we need to reconnect everything to Allah.
Because without Allah, it's nothing but ego.
Without Allah, it's ego.
Emotion.
But it's not spirituality.
So now to come back, Al-Musawwir Subhanahu
wa ta'ala, when you, everything, when you
come out of the mosque, you look at
the trees, say to yourself, no coincidence, everything
has been shaped and even the wind now,
moving that leaf and me seeing it, he
is doing it for me.
He's showing me how he does tasweed of
the world.
And then you get connected to Allah Subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
Hajeeb.
Same thing, some brothers, especially brothers, they say,
I can't lower my gaze.
It's very difficult.
I tell them, look, do you like it
when you have a phone and you're sitting
on a train, you know, in a train.
You're not allowed to sit on a train.
Anyway, in a train.
And somebody is sitting next to you and
he's all the time going like this.
But you're talking to your wife or to
your mother, so you go like this.
And every time you feel, you feel like
saying, excuse me, but you don't do it
because you're British.
In Belgium we do it.
So here I understand we don't.
It's rude.
So you just go like this.
So now, when you know that everything is
Allah's creation, that He's the Musawwir, it is
His possession, He's the King.
And He tells you, you are not allowed
to look at it because it's mine and
I decide.
Are you saying, yes I am?
So even the Musawwir tells you what you
can look at and can't look at because
He's the King and the Possessor of the
world.
Khalas.
Is that clear?
But now, is it only about these things?
No.
Also, the way that He shapes your life.
Subhanallah.
Our lives are usually not shaped in the
way that we expected it to be shaped.
Usually not.
We find ourselves in situations.
Al Musawwir shapes, designs situations in your life.
And the example I usually like to give
is the example of Yusuf Alayhi Salaam being
brought up by the father who was a
prophet.
What was the name of his father?
Yaqub.
Was Yaqub.
And he grew up with his brothers, half
brothers and one real brother.
He thought, they love me.
In front of him was a beautiful life.
Then all of a sudden the brother said,
you know what?
Our father loves Yusuf more than we, than
us.
Than he loves us.
So anyway, they threw him in a well,
then they sold him for a little amount
of money, a small amount of money.
Then he was sold as a slave.
Then the wife of his master wanted to
abuse him.
Then he was accused.
Then he ended up in prison.
Until here, when you look at the story
of Yusuf, you see nothing but disasters.
If you were to do taswir, the design
of someone becoming a leader of Egypt, you
would say, he needs to go to university.
He needs a very good youth.
He needs a stable life.
And then, you know, he needs to have
the right connections.
And then at the end, he needs a
clear name.
A name that is cleared of anything which
is wrong.
Especially not being accused of * and so
forth.
This is what you would say in your
brain.
This is how I would design the path
to becoming a leader.
I don't know.
He went through all of this to eventually
become the leader.
And when Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wants
you at the end of the road to
be grateful, He designs your path.
So that when you look back at your
path, you say, I didn't do this.
If it weren't for Him, I would be
there and not here.
If it were in harmony with my choices
in life that I wanted to make, I
wouldn't be who I am today.
So when Allah wants good for you, He
brings you to your goal through a path
that usually doesn't end up in that goal.
So that when you look back, you say,
this is from Allah.
And on the other hand, when He, subhanAllah,
plans against you, He lets you go through
a path that leads to your goal.
So that at the end of your path,
you will say, this is mine.
Like Qarun.
He said, The only reason why I have
it is thanks to my knowledge.
Because his path was clear.
I'm going to do this, this, this, this,
this.
Yes, he got to his goal, but he
didn't get to Allah.
And the other ones got to their goal,
and they got to Allah.
This is al-musawwir.
Al-musawwir shapes your life.
Shapes your life.
And as the scholar said, that the last
obstacle on our way to Allah, subhanAllah, is
turning off our minds with regards to the
Qadr.
With regards to the Divine Decree.
Okay?
So anyway, as for the brother that just
came in, try to listen to the recording,
because many things I think that are beneficial
have been said.
So inshaAllah, thank you for coming anyway.
We always rejoice with your presence.
So, we continue.
So now, al-musawwir subhanahu wa ta'ala,
as we said, is more than just the
one that shapes you.
Through shaping things, he shows you that he
loves you.
Anyone who has a child here, it was
designed for you.
That's his gift.
And it's not just like naturally growing.
He makes it grow.
Some children don't grow.
He makes it intelligent for you.
Some children are deprived from this.
Which doesn't mean that they are less good,
or that we are less happy to have
a child like that.
That doesn't mean it at all.
But he's been good for us, shaping it.
It's a real life puppet.
Here you are.
You wanted it, here you are.
But now when he delivers it, you have
to shape it.
He said, you wanted a pure diamond, you
have it.
It doesn't know wrong, it doesn't know evil,
it doesn't know jealousy, it doesn't know insulting,
it doesn't know anything bad.
It was created with the fitrah.
All good.
So if now your child is annoying you
in a certain way, like it doesn't listen,
or it's already older, it was your responsibility
to shape it.
And this is why Imam al-Ghazali said,
that a child is given to you like
a raw diamond.
It's for you to cut it.
It's for you to shape it.
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, and he
has given us these big responsibilities.
So we too, we need to shape things.
And the very first and the very last
thing that we need to shape is our
hearts.
And our behavior.
This is what we have to work on.
Because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, when he
gave us our hearts, he wants them back
in the same way that he gave them
to us.
He said, Apart from the one that comes
to Allah with a salim heart.
And like Imam al-Sulami rahimahullah azwajal mentioned
in his tafsir, that the salaf said, and
what is a salim heart?
He answered, A heart wherein resides nothing but
Allah.
Khalas.
That's qalbun salim.
And knowing that this is your only ticket
on the day of judgment, nothing else.
Not wealth, not health, not family, not children,
not a wife, nor a mother, nor a
father, just your heart.
Then why, I ask myself, don't we take
care of our hearts in the same way
that we take care of our money?
When Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said, Allah
has bought from the believers their souls and
their wealth in exchange for Jannah.
But he said, He didn't say, because the
mu'min, you know what he's doing?
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will only pick
those who are worth it to be near
to him.
They need to cleanse themselves.
They need to get rid of their shortcomings.
Why do they do this?
Because they beg, Ya Rabbi, pick me, pick
me.
Choose me, Ya Rabbi.
So they're always increasing in ibadah, coming closer
to Allah, getting rid of their negative traits
in hope to be chosen.
And this is only the mu'minun.
The muslimun, they don't.
They're Muslims from 9 to 5 Muslims.
But the mu'minun, no.
They continue.
So that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala would
choose them.
And so he said, Why did Allah choose
to buy the souls of the mu'minun?
How valuable are you?
Ask yourself this question.
That Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said, that
Allah bought the souls of the mu'minun, not
from the muslimin, from mu'minun.
Daraja.
You have muslimun, mu'minun, muhsinun, mu'minun.
How valuable are you if Allah chooses to
buy you?
He says, He bought you.
He looked at you and said, I want
to buy this man.
I want to buy this woman.
We can't even imagine how big of a
thing it is.
Like looking at you and saying, I want
to buy this.
I, the king.
This is so precious.
That heart there is so precious that I
want it near me.
This is what the verse means.
So don't we want to be bought by
Allah?
Now, they say, but why?
Didn't Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala say, Allah
drew near to him the mu'minin, but buying.
They said because when you buy something from
someone, that something is no longer his.
If I buy something from you, now if
you would come to me and say, okay,
I'm going to put a pink cover.
Like a girl would come and she says,
okay, I'm going to put a pink cover.
I say, I'm sorry, but as a sheikh
it's a bit strange.
When I come to the people and I'm
here with my pink cover, I'm not against
pink, but it's a bit strange.
She says, yeah, but I want some pink
and flashy lights.
I say, I'm sorry, girl, but, small girl,
but.
Okay, so she can't.
But then she buys it from me.
And now she, pink cover, flashy lights.
Can I tell her, don't do this?
I can't, why?
So when Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said,
after looking at these precious people, there's one
thing left in you.
When I buy you, because now you are
worth being bought.
So when I buy you, don't you dare
ever to ask me why I am doing
with you and your life what I am
doing because you are no longer yours.
So you are worth being bought.
You were the one claiming and saying, Rabbi,
buy me.
But it has a price.
The price is being bought and no longer
being yours.
So we can't say, why?
Why did you do this, Rabbi?
No need for, not even looking for a
wisdom behind it.
That's the highest level.
They say, Allah, that's it.
The level of mu'mineen is even, okay, I'll
try to understand.
The level of Ihsan is, I'm not mine.
Subhanallah.
But are we ready for this?
This is the thing.
Sometimes we ask for things that we might
not be able to bear or to carry
on our shoulders.
If I say, Rabbi, now, can we already
bear this?
So now the best thing is to ask
Allah SWT to give you what is good
for you.
That's the best thing.
So now, Allah bought the souls and the
wealth of the mu'mineen.
Why?
One, because they were worth it.
And two, so that they would overcome the
last obstacle.
Which is asking why.
Easy?
Not easy.
Like the Prophet SAW said to his Sahabi,
وَإِنَّهُ لَيَسِيرٌ عَلَى مَنْ يَسَّرَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ It
is easy for the one for whom Allah
makes it easy.
That's it.
So, you have to allow Allah to shape
your life.
And He won't always shape it in the
way that you like it.
You like to see yourself with your three
children and your wife?
Well, He might take away one.
Because that's the picture that He wants.
May Allah preserve our children.
Ameen.
Because this is how He wants to see
you.
That's, He's the sweet of your life.
You want this car, that job, you have
it, He takes it away.
No, no, this is not the way I
want to see you painted in life.
Well, know why.
Know why.
SubhanAllah.
And this is why Allah SWT gives us
the key of to becoming strong in the
way that Allah SWT wants us to be.
And He said, وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَجُوعِ
وَنَقْصِ مِنَ الْأَمْوَارِ وَنَفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ We
will test you, وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ with something.
SubhanAllah, when you now look at the people
of Syria, for example, it's not something small
that they are tested with, is it?
Nevertheless, Allah says, with something.
Why?
Because compared to the hereafter, that something is
nothing.
This is temporarily, the hereafter, the hadhab is
forever, might be forever.
This is suffering, but the result will be
rejoicing.
When one sees what the reward for it
is.
Even though it is suffering here.
And people that suffer need to be helped.
And that we do not ask for suffering.
So anyway, we will test you with a
little amount of...
Look at the worst people, that's still a
little amount of something.
بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ With a little amount of
fear.
Just a little amount of fear.
Going to sleep, going to your job, not
knowing when you come back that your house
will be there, that your wife is still
there, that your children are still there.
That fear is nothing.
It's a little.
We will test you with a little small
amount of fear.
SubhanAllah.
Because the king can give more.
بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ And hunger.
SubhanAllah, a little amount of hunger.
Look at people in Africa, they're dying.
We have to feed them.
If they would just, you know, one time,
only one, would spend a half of the
money on the World Cup, on people that
need to be fed, nobody would be poor.
Everybody would be sleeping well, eating well, being
taken care of.
But food bowls just seems to be that
little bit more important.
Anyway.
We will test you with a little amount
of fear.
With a little amount of hunger.
Look at these children dying.
Bellows are swollen.
A little.
وَنَقْسِ مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ We will take away of
your money.
وَالْأَنفُسِ And people, you love their lives, either
through divorce or through death.
وَالثَّمَرَاتِ Your tijara, your income.
Okay, so this is what we have to
expect.
وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ And give the glad tidings to
those who are patient.
So Allah is going to give the key
now.
That when you have been bought by Allah,
and you're not asking why, what do you
have to do?
الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا Listen carefully.
Those when they are afflicted by a musiba
say, We are from Allah.
إِنَّا لِلَّهِ See this?
Meaning, this is their mindset.
We are from Allah.
إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَجِعُونَ And we will
turn back to Him.
And when we turn back to Him, He
will give us everything back in hasanat.
You know?
It's like you have this magic stick.
I turn this into something else, and then
it becomes something else.
So what left us will be given back
in a way that will make us understand
why Allah did it.
And this is why the scholars like Ibn
Ata'illah said, And when the moment you
understand why He took something away from you,
you will realize that He was giving you
and not taking away from you.
If I take away from you five to
give you a thousand, did I take something
away from you?
I gave you something.
So the first thing they say when they
are afflicted and tested in everything, say, We
are from Allah.
And to Him is our return.
So they find their strength.
They know what is gone will come back.
But in a different way, different shape.
Because He is the Musawwir.
He shapes my happiness how He wants, whenever
He wants.
And what is the
greatest reward then?
أُولَٰئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ مِّن رَبِّهِمْ Their Lord, when
they say we are from Allah, they turned
off their why.
Allah prays for them.
Subhan Allah.
This is when you say no why.
I'm from Allah.
Brother Arjus said I'm from Allah.
When you find this strength, in everything which
happens in your life, then you will eventually
find peace in your heart.
And this is what Allah SWT says in
the Qur'an.
أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبِ Isn't it through
the remembrance of Allah that hearts come at
ease.
إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ Is the dhikr
of Allah.
That's it.
So now, أُولَٰئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ مِّن رَبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ
The salawat of their Lord is over them.
Subhan Allah.
And Allah SWT says in the Qur'an,
He prays over you and the angels so
that He would take you out of the
obscurity to the light.
Meaning that if you say إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا
إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ When you are afflicted, and you
accept the Musawwir to shape your life the
way that He wants it, then Allah will
give you light.
Light, insight, understanding, patience.
That when you talk, when you speak, when
you read, everything is connected to Allah SWT.
And this is why Ibn Hajiba said, When
the Awliya talk, it's like they went into
a garden unseen.
Where they were looking for flowers, untouched.
And then they come back and they give
it to you.
This is the understanding of life.
Through the test of life.
When Allah SWT said وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهُ وَيُعَلِمُكُمُ اللَّهُ
Fear Allah.
And Allah will teach you.
Allah will teach you.
Not only through the Qur'an and the
Sunnah.
Allah will teach you in your heart.
Through the test of life.
So, أُولَٰئِكَ عَلَيْهِمْ صَلَوَاتٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَرَحْمَةٌ And
mercy.
Not only salawat, mercy as well.
And then Allah says, وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُغْتَدُونَ And
they are guided.
Guided to what?
Guided to Allah.
They are the ones that are guided.
They are the ones that are free.
Of all wants.
Free of all needs.
Free of all desires.
They just want Allah.
And this is the very moment where they
have done in life what they were created
for.
وَمَا خَلَقَتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونَ The only
reason why I have created jinn and mankind
is to worship me.
Well, worship.
It's not just the body.
That's the easy part.
Remember, in the Prophetic Surah we said مُنَافِقُونَ
They pray.
But Allah describes their prayer and says in
their prayer they don't do a lot of
dhikr of Allah.
So, the body is the easy part.
Here.
It's all happening here.
This is the journey.
This is the journey.
So, this is also what I understand when
I hear the name Al-Musawwir.
Shaping your life.
How are you going to love his drawing?
Admire it.
Look at it.
SubhanAllah.
The last thing I want to say, InshaAllah,
is when I look at people that go
to a museum, sometimes an hour in front
of a painting.
Don't you think, Johnny or Ahmed, that the
painter was a bit depressed?
I mean that black stroke.
Do you really look at it?
Oh, yes.
I think he was quite depressed.
I think he was suicidal.
But on the other hand, I think he
was also very happy.
Why?
Do you see the yellow line?
Yes.
It has no shadow.
So, maybe he was not...
So, they keep on...
The painter maybe didn't even think about the
line.
Just, you know, he messed it up and
said, you know, I don't want to change
it.
But they give more meaning to the painting
than the painter intended.
But our painter, and that's figuratively speaking, it's
not the name of Allah, our designer, our
shaper, intended more than we can talk about
and more than we can think of.
Exactly, but not exactly the opposite.
You see?
So, subhanAllah, be astonished from his strokes in
life, from the colours, the emotions he wants
to take you through in order for you
to be able to see what you fall
short in so that you would strengthen yourself
and what you are good at so that
you would be grateful and what you don't
have so that you would be patient.
Everything which happens in life is to shape
you, form you, make you, or if you
choose to, break you.
I ask Allah subhanAllah ta'ala to make
this beneficial.
Ameen.
We ask Allah subhanAllah ta'ala by his
beautiful names and perfect attributes to make today
better than yesterday and tomorrow better than today.
We ask Allah to make the best days
the day, the day that we die.
We ask Allah subhanAllah ta'ala to make
our stay on this world like Zohm and
our meeting with him like Eid.
We ask Allah subhanAllah ta'ala to give
us a deep understanding, to allow us to
get rid of ourselves and to buy our
souls and to make us strong enough to
carry it without asking why.
لا إله إلا أنت يا ربي سبحانك إني
كنت من الظالمين والحمد لله رب العالمين If
there are any questions then you can ask
them, inshaAllah.
Yes.
I have a question on the name of
Allah.
Yes.
صورة يصور is shaping and giving a form.
المصور is على وزن مفاعل I'm the one
doing it.
So the one giving shape and form.
So let me explain a bit more before
you came in.
So inshaAllah you can understand.
Yes.
Yes.
Now.
Yes.
Yes, there is more to it.
Like we have a تخلق putting this name
into practice is by shaping other people's lives.
Being a painter in their life that draws
a smile on a sad face.
Encouraged.
Courage upon the heart of discouraged person.
And to make their life better from a
social point of view, from an economical point
of view.
And this is why the Prophet ﷺ said
like in the Jamia of Imam Suyuti رحمه
الله عز و جل He said And the
best ones amongst you are the ones that
are of most benefit to others.
So that you try to So unlike the
Prophet ﷺ said also in the Jamia of
Imam Suyuti He said the best ones the
most beloved deed according to Allah is that
you shape happiness in the heart of a
human being.
So you are going to try to shape
the lives of people.
You are going to try to reshape the
world that was shaped maybe by evil spirits
or evil minds.
You are going to try to rectify it,
beautify it.
So this is one of the ways of
تخلق تتعلق already like not boasting, being thankful,
observing.
And تتخلق would be this.
And also subhanAllah when the Prophet ﷺ used
to look into the mirror what did he
say?
Oh Allah, exactly like you beautified my outward
appearance beautify my behaviour.
So you are going to shape yourself in
the light of what Allah ﷻ wants.
So all of this would be a practical
side of the name.
Now Excuse me?
Yes No
Yes Yes, exactly
Yes Yes
Yes
Yes Yes
Yes Yes
Yes Yes Well It's a very large, big,
vast very important question at the same time.
But I think that if we we start
the upbringing of a child from a very
early age and we inject it and inspire
it with a right understanding of life a
right understanding of living life and a right
understanding of reward and of the Divine justice
and so much more that a child will
understand it at a certain point in life.
But it's always because we start too late.
The biggest problem of parents today is that
they think that they have to teach their
child by sending it to school while the
first school is their behaviour and their attitude.
You can't expect a child to learn the
name of Razaq but when you have a
problem in your rizq it sees you desperate.
What happened?
Where's the rizq?
So what we need to do as parents
if we start from the very beginning like
I'm going to share a secret with you
No, I'm not.
I don't know if it's necessary.
I don't see a benefit.
So if you start very early like the
Prophet ﷺ used to do with his companions
like Abu Bakr r.a whose child at
a very early age said a dua in
the morning and his father said I never
taught you this.
I never taught you this.
He said I heard you saying it after
every prayer.
You see this?
So it was by seeing his father doing
something or by the child seeing the mother
doing something and their attitude that they will
change.
So I believe in this case that it's
all upbringing from the very beginning and then
we won't be challenged with some things that
we might be challenged with at a later
age.
So Allah knows.
So it's all about the very beginning.
Allah.
Do you have another question?
Was that all?
Okay.
JazakAllah khairan.
With your permission.
What I would like to ask and I
don't know if it's possible.
If people want to write down the classes
then maybe later on it can become a
small book even if you would summarize it
and write it down in a way that
children understand it we could make it a
children book.
So if some of you would like to
do this I would be very honoured because
I believe it can be beneficial for other
people as well in this way.
Walhamdulillahi Rabbil Alameen.
