You got her life.
We praise Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, a blessed
praise.
We send peace and blessings upon our beloved
messenger, Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam,
upon his blessed family, his companions, and those
who followed him until the end of time.
Brothers and sisters,
Ramadan Mubarak to each and every one of
you.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bless you and
raise you and increase you insha'Allah in in
infinite ways
in this blessed month of of Ramadan.
We ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to accept
our fasting. We ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
to accept the efforts that we make. And
most importantly, we ask Allah
to accept
inshallah our khair that we present. The prophet
Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, he said every night
in this month,
an angel says,
yeah,
Oh, you who are seeking good,
accept that good. And the prophet says, oh,
you who are are continuing to do evil,
refrain from evil.
And this month, you know,
it's so amazing
that it's nearly impossible for someone not to
achieve
some type of spiritual growth and forgiveness.
And that's why one of the great scholars,
he said, out of Allah's mercy for people,
like, maybe there's people who sin throughout the
year. Maybe there's people who, like, make mistakes,
but their heart is in the right place,
but they struggle.
Right? That's different than someone who's, like, deliberate
talking about someone now who you know, we
all have weaknesses,
and Allah knows the person, their heart, and
he knows
that their heart is in the right place.
So he gives them times like the month
of Ramadan,
where they're able to do so much good
that they can insha Allah
sincerely continue to do good after.
But because they do good in the month
of Ramadan, it, like, overshadows
the year of mistakes they made. That's what
one of the scholars said. It's so beautiful.
If they continue after Ramadan.
Right? So out of his rahma, out of
his mercy, out of his love
The prophet
said there
are times where Allah
allows things to impact a person because he
knows
that it will raise their level, insha'allah,
in ways that they couldn't have done it
by themselves.
So mashallah, Ramadan is that time, alhamdulillah.
And that's why the prophet salallahu alaihi wasalam
as related by Imam Malik and imam Muslim.
When the prophet salallahu alaihi wasalam, he ascended
the Mimbar,
He said 3 times, Amin.
And the Sahaba, they asked him, we noticed,
like, you you said Amin.
What happened? And one of them, he said
that Jibreel told me, like, lost is the
one who's not forgiven in Ramadan.
What that means is, like, how could someone
not be forgiven? Like, how? It's impossible.
Because the mercy of Allah
is so great and so so
intense in this month.
Like, subhanAllah, how is it possible that they
couldn't be forgiven?
So the first thing is, like, I want
to address 2 issues that I hear people
talk about.
The first is that people say, like, man,
I had a really bad year.
I made so many mistakes.
I I fell and I slipped,
and
I want to,
like, make up for those things that I've
done wrong,
but I don't feel I'm worthy to be
here. Like, someone actually told me they feel
like that they they don't feel like they
are worthy to be here,
And they feel like I've done so many
sins and so many mistakes. Like, I don't
deserve this.
So I heard from one of our teachers
who said,
if
you're invited somewhere by somebody
and you know that that person has no
ill intentions,
then why would you question being invited?
If you've been brought into a place by
Allah,
then you have to know that Allah's plan
for you is greater than the plan you
have for yourself.
And if you don't have confidence in yourself,
then
have confidence that Allah
is the one that brought you there, and
Allah knows you better than you know yourself.
Allah says in the Quran,
Allah knows his creation.
Allah is closer to you than you are
to yourself.
So instead of allowing
yourself to be
down
and lose confidence because you know your weaknesses,
Find confidence in knowing that the greatest, most
powerful,
awesome force
has brought you into this place
because you have a life of destiny to
that has yet to be lived.
That there's good there.
Find that good in the month of Ramadan.
That's why one of the meanings for fasting,
Allah says sair, is to travel. Sa'imat,
they travel because when you travel in Surat
Al Taherim, because when you travel, you you
uncover so many things about yourself.
So Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala talks about the
the wives of the prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam.
The word he says is they are traveling.
It means fasting
because fasting is a journey.
Fasting is a journey. So don't allow yourself
to feel like I'm so bad. The the
last year was so evil. I can't make
up for it. I have all these sins.
If Allah
brought you to this blessed moment, there's hikmah
there for you. Find your purpose through this
journey.
The last point, and I don't wanna make
a long, long virtual.
The best speech is a speech that's shortened
to the point, insha Allah,
is that a lot of people feel really
down
because they're not able
to attend
the Masjid or pray tarawih
and the Masjid.
Let's not forget
the beautiful statement of the prophet salallahu alaihi
wa sallam
who said,
The prophet said,
the earth was made a mosque for me
impure.
The entire earth
Whether you're at your house,
whether you're at work,
no matter where you are at that moment
when you establish salah,
that becomes now the metaphoric masjid.
That becomes the metaphoric masjid.
As one brother, he asked me, how am
I gonna worship Allah this year in Ramadan
in my house?
I said, subhanallah.
Yunus, he could worship Allah in the belly
of a fish.
Ibrahim could worship Allah
in the fire.
Satan and Yusuf could worship Allah in jail,
and we have so many incarcerated brothers and
sisters now who are holding it down
holding it down. Masha'Allah.
Sayed Muhammad salallahu alaihi wasalam could worship Allah
in Mecca.
You can't worship Allah in your house.
So remember this,
Allah, and I heard this from imam Mark
Mahali the other night, and it it really
impacted me.
Allah says, you know, that the believer
the believer is a doer.
The believer is a doer. Allah says those
who do zakat, they own zakat.
The believer is not somebody who allows the
dunya
to own them,
but they own the dunya because they worship
the lord of the dunya.
As Allah said to say,
The last point that I'll make,
is that a lot of our brothers and
sisters are sick,
and a lot of our brothers and sisters
are unable to fast for multiple reasons. Some
of them are are related to illness. Some
of them are related to our mothers who
are pregnant.
Some of them are related to our mothers
who are breastfeeding. May Allah bless them and
put barakah in their work
and other issues.
I wanna remind those people of this beautiful
narration of
that
Allah
will
say to the angels
about a sick Muslim.
This hadith is a good hadith.
If that sick Muslim or that Muslim who
is kept
for a legitimate reason.
Write for this person
What they would have normally done,
and reward them as though they did it.
So what is one of the lessons we
learned in Ramadan?
It's the important of intention.
So for those brothers and sisters who are
unable
to perform Ramadan, like recently a convert sister
who lives in the south, who lives with
parents that are,
you know, anti Muslim bigots.
Can you imagine?
We're worried about fasting in our houses. This
sister has to fast in the house on
the DL,
keeping a secret from her family.
May Allah bless her and strengthen her. Like,
you
know, like, remind you of the stories of
the Sahaba.
When you see, like, a 70 year old
convert in America who can't leave home and
is fasting,
secretly around her family
worried that something could happen.
These kind of people,
this hadith led by imam ibn Majah,
is very powerful.
A family reached out to me yesterday who
had COVID,
and they're still recovering,
and still they're worried about fasting.
Allahu Akbar, the physician that contacted me and
said, like, it's hard to fast
in the ICU,
in the emergency room. Like, Allahu Akbar, what
an ummah. We need to be very careful
of people in the ummah who make us
hate ourselves. We are the best ummah, alhamdulillah.
The prophet said we are We
are a protected merciful ummah, that Allah's mercy
will always be there. He said, he said,
They will always be good amongst us. But
one of the goals of our enemies is
to make us believe what our enemies tell
us to the point that we hate ourselves
with the same the same measurements that our
own enemies hate each other. But look at
the stories I'm telling you now. Brothers who
reach out to me who are incarcerated,
who who are fasting.
A convert sister who's secretly fasting from her
parents.
Brothers and sisters, the Rohingya who are fasting.
I heard a story from a brother years
ago in Somalia who used to share during
a famine a date with the brother he
lived with, but they would still fast, Allahu
Akbar, even though they didn't have to.
What kind of Ummah is that?
What kind of Ummah is that? That's the
Single moms
fasting,
brother staying at home fasting and holding it
down, praying taraweed by themselves because they know
if I don't have the jama'ah, I have
the malaika praying with me.
How many malaika are praying with you when
you pray taraweed in your house?
Allah says in the in the Quran,
the Quran
is witnessed by the angels.
What about the other
salawat? So when you say, Amin,
you should feel confident.
The the malaikar saying Amin with you,
as is mentioned in the sound hadith and
sort of fatiha,
that if your Amin coincides with the Amin
of the malaikar,
you will be forgiven.
So that last point is very important.
That is don't get down
and don't get sad, but make the most
of this moment,
And find inspiration from your fellow brothers and
sisters,
alhamdulillah,
who
barakah we say when we say Ramadan Mubarak,
barakah doesn't mean a lot.
The Baruk is a camel that can travel
across the desert and doesn't need a lot
of stuff.
She it doesn't need a lot of, of
like, you know, it doesn't it doesn't bother
her master.
So the Muslim is Mubarak
who can travel to the dunya and doesn't
require a lot from their master is Allah.
So the dunya is the one who the
the the Muslim who's Mubarak and Ramadan is
Mubarak. Why? Because we don't have a lot.
We're pulled away from heaven,
and that's where there's Barakah. What does Barakah
teach us?
To
not worry about how much,
but to make do with what we have.
To make do with what we have.
One of the brothers I used to know,
he was incarcerated,
and he told me that a bag of
hot Cheetos from commissary
when he was locked up was like caviar.
You know what I mean? He's like he's
like caviar
because that's what I had.
That's what I could have, and I learned
to appreciate
that I'm limited in what I have.
So brothers and sisters, the last point is,
like,
don't be down.
This is a ummah that has incredible
And make sure that you you stay around
people who responsibly teach you,
responsibly guide you, encourage you, don't break you.
But remind you that this has a purpose.
To be a Muslim is to have a
purpose. To be a Muslim is to call
to Allah. To be Muslim is to be
above this world. Right? To be a Muslim
is to be about something something else. And
that's why as I finish in the Quran,
and tonight you'll read it in.
When Allah talks about the believers, he says,
Alaa Alaa means to be above.
I climbed on the mountain.
Like, they've been raised.
They're high on guidance.
They're not low. They're high.
So remember that the Ummah of Sayidna Muhammad
So what do we talk about quickly, hamdulillah,
today?
The first thing that we talked about is
for our brothers and sisters who may
feel and we should always make sure those
brothers and sisters feel welcome. Our elders,
you know, look how the world has treated
old people, man.
Like, I love like what every day to
be as as as as an elder told
me every day is to hear on the
news that there's a there's a there's a
gun pointed at you. Like, this disease is
killing elders. Disease is killing elders. That's true,
but, like, imagine the trauma
that
is impacted on people.
So in our spaces, especially online, we're younger,
a lot of us are younger.
Make sure that we're inviting our elders to
be in these spaces, man, That we're helping
them out to navigate and be part of
the community.
And to remind those elders and those sick
and those mothers
who are not able to fast,
those people that have this virus or recovering
the hadith of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam.
Uqtubu write for them
as though they did these perfectly.
The second thing is, like, don't get upset
if you're not able to be in the
masjid
or in your regular places of worship.
The prophet said
The whole earth has made a masjid for
me.
So wherever you are, it ain't where you're
from is where you at. Right?
Where are you at?
Turn that place
into a place of worship.
And maybe this is an opportunity
for us to to structure our homes on
Ibadah,
on worship.
And then the last thing is don't get
down all believers.
Alhamdulillah.
Alhamdulillah. Alhamdulillah.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is our Lord. Muhammad
Sallallahu Wa Ta'ala is our prophet.
The Quran is our book. Alhamdulillah.
We ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala be asma'ihi
kulliha
Ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala by all of
his names and attributes.
We ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala by
the weight of his
and the number of his words
Ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to keep us
strong.
We ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to make
us Mubarak,
not about what we have, but utilizing and
seeing the blessing in what we don't have.
That's Ramadan Mubarak.
Ramadan Mubarak is that.
So ask Allah Subhanahu
Wa
Ta'ala
and
Ask Allah to make us the people of
Baraka. We pray for our brothers and sisters
who are incarcerated.
We ask Allah to,
bring them the wisdom
like a semblance of the wisdom of Satan
to Yusuf.
We pray for our brothers and sisters in
Kashmir.
They're all Hynia.
Our brothers and sisters in Palestine,
in Syria, in Bosnia, and Yemen.
Brothers and sisters in Iraq and Iran.
Brothers and sisters
in in in
the Congo,
in Gambia,
in synagogue,
across the African subcontinent
continent, excuse me. We pray that Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala blesses them. We pray for our
brothers and sisters in the Indian subcontinent.
We ask
Allah to remove the
that's happening to those people.
We ask Allah
to help us to be there to support
them. We pray for our brothers and sisters
in Afghanistan,
the Uighur community, and our brothers and sisters
in China.
We ask Allah to bless our brothers and
sisters in the Caucasus
in what's now southern Russia.
We ask Allah to bless the Muslims in
the UK and Canada.
We ask Allah to bless our brothers and
sisters in America.
Ask Allah to help us to fulfill the
prophetic
legacy that we have been given.
We ask Allah to forgive us of all
of our sins,
and we ask Allah
if we lack confidence in ourselves for this
month to find confidence in the fact that
but this is where Allah put us.
This is where Allah placed us. So let
us, oh, Allah have more confidence in your
plan for us,
than we have a lack of confidence in
our own insecurities and shortcomings.
We ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to unite
us with Sayna
Muhammad. We ask Allah to unite us with
Sayna Muhammad
We pray for our brothers and sisters in
Kosovo. Pray for our brothers and sisters in
in in Pakistan
and all over the world
That Allah will unite us as he has
united us in this moment.
We ask Allah to unite us
on yawmukiyama,
and we will see each other,
and we will remind each other. Remember the
day that we gather together from all over
the world
to listen to this khutba,
tahtali wa I Sayyidna Rasulillah
under the
the the flag of Sayyidna Muhammad salallahu alaihi
wa sallam.
Ask Allah to bless all of you.
I wanna extend my warmest Ramadan blessings to
you. Ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to increase
you,
to raise your ranks.
I ask Allah to protect those who may
be struggling with abuse in their homes during
this time. You know, subhanAllah, there are people
who are at home being abused in quarantine.
We ask Allah to help us be a
means for them to find an out. We
ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to
guide the one that is treating them this
way to fear Allah and to repent and
change his or her life.
Ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
Be blessed, beloved,
inshallah
hoping you have a wonderful
Ramadan, Ramadan Mubarak. Assalamu alaikum,
