Suhaib Webb – The Dunya Is Like An Island

Imam Abu Hamid Al Ghazari said that Dunia

is like an island,

and that people have landed there and their

captain said, listen,

There's other places better to go than this,

so don't don't get caught up with the

beauty of it. Don't get caught up by

the glitz of it. They said, therefore, the

groups broke up into 3. The first, they

were enamored by the island. They said, there's

nothing after this. There's nothing that can be

better than this. So they stayed there and

they were lost.

The second, they tried to carry as much

as they could from the island. Some of

them made it to the boat and some

of them didn't.

The first group, they said, you know what?

The captain is telling the truth.

Let's just get what we need and prepare

for the greater journey,

the greater destination. He said, these are the

people more or less of paradise.
