AI: Summary ©
You're gonna try to read the entire Quran
this year, Inshallah. Yeah.
May Allah make it easy for you.
It's not that hard. It just needs consistency.
Right? Just needs a little consistency.
Wow. Oh,
Masha'allah, Masha'allah.
Thank you for sharing. Let's hear from brother
Harun.
Please, brother.
Unmute yourself.
Assalamu alaikum, Sheikh.
My resolution
is to stop playing video games behind my
mom's back.
That's a tough one.
Some of us trying to stop playing video
games behind our wise back.
Tough one.
Make it easy for you and all of
us.
Good job, everyone. Thank you for being vulnerable
though. Thank you for, like, sharing something that's
a struggle for you.
Khadija Hamdani.
My resolution for this Ramadan is,
to finish memorizing the jizama.
And
since it has passed because of my,
this because of my, other immunizations, I'm kinda
helping my siblings fast.
And you know Khadija, may Allah help you
with your audio auto immune disease and make
it easy for you. Thank you for being
vulnerable.
You know that you know that the prophet
said
that Allah says to the Malaika for someone
who's unable to fast for a legitimate reason,
like, record it as though they fasted.
So you got the you got the reward.
Thank you. I mean, Yaqub.
I see you, Yakub Al Ali, with his
hand up.
My Ramadan goal this year is again to
try and stop playing computer games and try
to pray more, you know, pray 5 times
a day
including like Fajr and
Isha,
which are getting pretty late.
Yeah.
Yes.
I understand.
I feel your pain, man.
Umair.
My resolution is to start playing the sunnah
of every prayer.
Oh, man. That's beautiful.
May Allah make it easy for you. We
know that the prophet said whoever praise all
of the sunnests
2 before,
Fajr,
4 before Duhr, 2 or 4 after Duhr,
2 after Maghrib,
and then the sunnahs of Isha.
Isha.
Allah will build a home for that person
in paradise.
May Allah make it easy for you.
Saad,
I see you got your hand up, sir.
Assalamu alaikum. Assalam.
My resolution is to read the Quran with
its meaning.
Nice.
That's really good, man. You know, there's a
a really good translation now called the clear
Quran
that was done by Mustafa Khattab. It's really
nice. Actually, it's the Quran that we use
in my school.
And it's the translation is really good.
Naima.
Masha'Allah. So you got your hand up. So
those of you who just joined us, we're
asking people to share with us their Ramadan
resolutions.
So I come my Ramadan
resolution
would be to help out more and,
to do,
to not to stop playing video games.
May Allah bless you and increase you. So
anyone else before we get into today's
discussion,
have a hand up and wanna share with
us
their Ramadan
resolutions.
Anyone else ready to go? I can say
for me it's to,
review the whole Quran because I'm a Hafiz
so
have to review it completely,
this year, this month Insha'Allah.
And also to spend,
more time in worship. You No. Sometimes you
get so busy,
you don't get a lot of time for
worship. So I'm hoping I can get some
salah in. Inshallah, today, we're going to jump
into the next part of the text.
And I promised you we're gonna talk about
magic, and we're gonna do the Fortnite thing,
but we'll do it after Ramadan then. Can't
be playing a fortnight together during Ramadan. It'd
be kinda strange.
Everyone's playing tar we and you're like, yeah,
I'm hanging out with, Imam Suhayb. Oh, really?
Supama, like, are you guys praying? Are you
making du'a? No, man. We're playing Fortnite. It's
just really
a bad look. A bad look. And our
brother Azubair all the way from Morocco.
Inshallah,
in the summertime, we're gonna do with Imam
Markmani
a Fortnite, like, thing where we all come
together and
handle it, shot line, play Fortnite.
Let's jump into our book. And this is
the book that's in your
classroom folder. And
I do owe you a class on magic.
I'm still working on it, so I'm not
comfortable yet. It's not that complicated, but
I just want it to be solid. And
I need to post the text
up from the last two classes that are
added to this text. But this is the
text that you have. This is the textbook
that you are going through.
And today we're going to start to talk
about the hereafter and belief in the hereafter.
And and feel free,
every 5 or 10 minutes, I'll try to
stop and make sure that you guys are
able to ask questions. But again, Ramadan Mubarak,
and I hope you guys are are doing
really great. Masha'Allah. It's great to be with
you guys. So we've covered this part of
the text where he talks about belief in
the prophets,
and we talked about the Malaika, and then
he says,
And here he starts to talk
about belief in Al Akhira.
Al Akhira is
not just a day of judgment in some
religious
yeah. Yeah. I'll post it. And also the
recording is up. I put I put the
recording up so you can catch that recording,
as yet. Allah bless you. So the sheikh
now we've we've covered these parts of the
text
up into this part.
And of course everything before that about God
and the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
And then when we came here, we started
to talk about the other prophets.
And then from here, we started to talk
about Al Maraihika.
So we've reached here and this is all
we have left. Alhamdulillah, we're almost done.
Oops, that's not gonna work, but basically
from here
to here, that's
all we have left.
And hopefully, we'll finish. We may even finish
before May 8th,
and you'll take your final exam and your
exams you'll have by Tuesday Insha Allah. I
have like 100 of them to grade. Masha'Allah.
It's a lot of lot of exams to
grade, but you'll have them Insha'Allah by Tuesday.
So it says, meaning
it is obligatory to believe
in the hereafter.
Right? So belief in the last day. So
this is where we're gonna be starting. And
in fact, let me just make this easier
for you.
There you go.
And then we'll take out
this.
One second.
We'll leave that there, but you get the
general idea. So
today, we're going to talk about in some
detail our faith in the hereafter. Oftentimes, when
you talk about,
belief in the hereafter,
people assume that you're talking about,
and Basil, I'm still trying to figure out
your situation, so please be patient with me.
They tend to think that belief in the
hereafter only means belief
in the last day. But for us, belief
in the hereafter,
means all these things right here that I'm
about to read to you. So believe it
believes
it's a belief of what occurred on the
day, day
of judgment,
such as the reckoning,
the punishments, and the rewards, what happens in
the grave,
hellfire,
the bridge, the scales, heaven and *, the
*, the kursi.
All these things fall under what's called
Al
Akhira.
Al Akhira.
As a Muslim,
you have to believe
that the prophets taught
certain issues
related to the unseen.
And I gave you the terminology for those.
Right?
And we find here in the 3rd chapter,
the second,
the second chapter, the third verse.
Those who believe with the unsee.
In describing
the companions of the prophet,
Allah says that they say
Right? They
they they say, our Lord, we have heard
this person calling us to Iman, and we
believed in him. Part of Iman
is to believe, in the hereafter.
Before we jump into the hereafter there's also
that notion that the Prophet
taught us
about what's right and wrong, religious rulings.
Sometimes people make a mistake and they're like,
you know, maybe you guys have heard this
before, like, who am I to judge or
you can't judge people. No. No. You can
judge people.
But the problem is how are people judged?
So, like, if you guys
saw me doing something wrong,
explicitly something wrong, I hope that you would
correct me.
You would say to me, like, hey, I
think
this is incorrect.
When we say that religion has no judgments,
then religion really has no purpose.
Because one of the purposes of religion is
to teach us what's right and wrong.
There are a number of ways though, and
and we'll talk about this when we go
through the lives of the prophets this summer,
InshaAllah.
There are ways to correct people. There's wisdom,
there's intelligence,
you know, there is a, a, a method
to teaching people.
So it's obligatory
for you to affirm that the prophets taught
rulings for acts of worship
in daily life that will affect your outcome
in the hereafter.
Prophet said anything that will take you close
to Allah, I taught you. Anything that will
take you far away from Allah, I warned
you about it.
The rulings that the prophets taught are 2,
they fall under 2 kind of
general things. What's called Taq and Feil.
And what what the scholars mean
by tark are those things that
you have to do.
What they mean by feel are things you
have to do.
Feel, so I'm doing something.
What they meant by turk is what you
have to stay away from. So the entire
like, I can I can do it here
inshallah? Maybe it'll make things easier for you.
This is Sharia,
And Sharia
rests on 2 things.
Actions with an Arabic called FID or f
I
or FID.
So you remember this, like the entirety of
Islamic law,
the entirety of our faith
rests
on actions
and things we should avoid, things we should
do, things we shouldn't do.
So for example,
to pray
the opposite would be, Abdullah, it's nice to
have you, man. Welcome, hamdulillah, to your first
class. Everyone give Abdullah a big round of
applause. It's his first day. My sha Allah,
man. And don't let Shaytan tell you, Abdullah,
like, oh, man, it's your first day. You
don't know anything. No. Hamdullah, man. We got
your back, bro. We're here for you inshallah,
and and I think you're gonna you're gonna
enjoy the class, but we're super excited to
have you. Thank you guys for being super
welcoming. You know, the prophet
said,
if you make a Muslim happy
paradise
becomes an obligation.
Like, you you will
enter into paradise. SubhanAllah.
So
here,
Islam as a practice,
right, is either to do certain things or
to refrain, even there's a better word from
things. So I'm commanded to pray
at the same time. The opposite of praying
would be what?
The opposite of praying would be
not to pray. I'm commanded to fast. The
opposite of fasting would be what? To to
not fast. So within every command
there are, there's this duality.
There's this duality. Masha'Allah. Masha'Allah.
So we talk about the rulings in religious
guidance.
The prophet
Allah
says,
like obeying the messenger.
It's talking about an acts of worship. Right?
Obey Allah and obey His messenger,
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. In order to obey someone,
there has to be rules. So we need
to be very careful because I know it
sounds cool and it makes people feel like
super, like, warm and fuzzy inside. Yeah, man.
There's no there's like no judgments in Islam
like, hamdulillah, you can do what you want.
No. That's not Islam. That's you know what
we call
that? We call that
Islam
or Islam.
Right? Now there's Islam means to submit to
Allah
and to obey the Messenger of Allah. Sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam. So in the text he
says,
You know
that yeah. We disable the check check. So
just when I'm saying something that is important,
people can focus, Masha'Allah. But usually people are
so amazing, we don't have to delay, to
shut down the chair.
Alhamdulillahi,
I stay stay stay
so
actions and avoidances.
And here I talk about what those are.
Actions are those things you must do like
prayer, those things that you are encouraged to
do, like fasting on Monday Thursday. And those
things you are allowed to do, like going
out with your friends to eat. You're allowed
to do that.
Avoidances are those actions you are ordered to
avoid like cursing
your parents.
Those actions that you are encouraged to avoid
like going to the mosque with bad
breath. Yo, people need to get some deodorant
and those actions you are allowed to avoid,
like going out with your like not going
out with your friends to eat. So
basically, halal halal haram,
wajib, fard, sunnah, makru,
and muba. All that's found in this.
Now we're gonna talk about Insha'Allah, the Akhira,
Radi from the Akhira.
The prophet when he defined faith in this
hadith again is super important. You wanna know
it. He said,
To believe in Allah, his angels, his books,
his messengers,
and to believe
that all things good or better from Allah's
decree.
Belief in the Hereafter means to believe in
everything that the Quran and Sunnah has taught
us like death,
what happens in the grave,
the resurrection,
All that happens after the resurrection.
The day of judgment in heaven and *.
The hereafter is so important. This is this
is this is like really incredible.
You know, the hereafter is mentioned
on almost every page of the Quran.
SubhanAllah because
people need to be reminded right? So the
Hereafter actually is mentioned
on almost every page of the Quran.
For the rest of the book, Sheikh Dardir
is going to now address the writer's name
Sheikh Ahmed Dardir.
He's going to address some of the important
beliefs you must know
about the hereafter.
Right? So we're gonna get started.
The first is the reckoning. What's called he
said.
Real quick.
I think he said,
you know, a a a accountant is a
hassle
because
he looks after your money.
He does the inventory of your wealth. Right?
HESAB
is when
there's going to be inventory taken of how
we lived our life.
And this is mentioned in numerous narrations, the
prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. I want you
to think about this one.
This is pretty intense.
Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, he said that
the feet of people will not move
in the hereafter
until
they are asked about 4 things.
What are those 4 things?
Does anyone know? What are the 4 things
that the prophet said people will not move?
Who is your prophet?
About 4 things. Well, just no, no, that's
a good that's a good try. Abdul, that's
in the grave. But now we're talking about
on yawmukiyama,
people being questioned by Allah. So the 3
questions are gonna happen in the grave. This
is after that, we're gonna get to that
in a minute. Good job, Abdul, good good.
So one of them,
right,
The first thing that someone's gonna be asked
about is salah. That's one.
One of the things he mentioned
is your youth.
Nice. Yahya.
Prayer, your wealth, and how you use your
body. Nice. Nice.
Nice.
Nice. It's youth.
Why do you think we'll be asked about
our youth
in the hereafter?
The hadith says how someone wasted their youth.
Is it because,
that's like when we're more prone to, like,
mistakes?
Nice.
That's a good point. I can see that.
Who else wants to chime in? Like, why
why would one of the things all of
us will be asked about when we meet
Allah
will be how we used our youth.
You can think about the Hadith of the
Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallamah
Saba'a
right? The
7 people will be under the shade of
Allah when there is no shade. One of
them is a young person who uses a
youth for Allah.
You know, a young person who uses their
youth. Right, Amir? That's a good point. You
have more time. You have more energy.
Right? Yeah. You have more strength.
So it's like a blessing.
It's a great blessing. And, you know, like,
great blessings come with great responsibilities.
So think about this beautiful hadith. I'll post
it, later tonight in the in the classroom,
Insha'Allah. I'll do my best
is, you know,
this hadith
that a person's feet,
a person's feet will not move on the
day of judgment
until they're asked about 4 things.
Anmarihi,
about our proper our wealth, how how do
we acquire it, how do we spend it,
Our youth, how do we abuse it?
Our salah,
our salah and how we we handled it
as well as,
another narration says,
our body and how, like, we treated it.
Sallallahu alayhi wasalam.
So this is Hissab.
Sayed Aisha radiAllahu anha said
that
the Prophet said that Hissab is not easy.
And there's this Dua, Allahumma,
provide us with Hissab and Yaseera.
Oh Allah, give us
a
easy, he said,
he said, which is not like difficult
or burdening us.
So some people asking how old are you
till your youth? You know, this is gonna
make you guys laugh.
But according to most, your parents might like
this. According to most
scholars of Islam, your youth is till 40.
There are some who said till 60. Man,
dang, dude. Imagine 60 year old showing up
to the youth group like, what's up, yo?
But this this the smart opinion,
and and this is,
you can take this with you, is that
the the designation of youth is something related
to culture.
Because, like, if if you look at, like,
my grandparents,
their parents,
when when they were, like, 6 16 or
17,
they were like a they were like adults,
man.
Right.
They. They could manage their life. Got a
70 old news club.
I mean, that'd be awesome. I mean, so
we need to make sure that our elders
feel welcome right now. You know, elders are
under a lot of pressure because every time
they turn on the news, they hear that
this disease is killing them. So
a lot of stress and trauma for our
older family members, may Allah make it easy
for them. But
the stronger opinion is that like the designation
of youth is really gonna be based on,
like, cultural parameters.
So, you know, I would say now
youth is, you know, I'll let you guys
tell me how what do you when do
you think youth stops?
You know, what what do we mean by
youth? 18, 21.
Sounds good to me. 18, 30, or 40.
I'll take 40.
Adam said 80.
Right. So you can see how everyone has
their own opinion.
So, you know, it's it's best
defined by,
communities.
So a person
will be reckoned once they are more cut
off,
and we know that we believe in the
reckoning. We talked about the angels that
record everything you do.
Here's a question of, like, oh, here's the
hadith everybody. Masha'Allah.
And this is a different this is a
different wording than the one I mentioned that
has youth in it.
But here is the actual,
Hadith.
Let me put it in the group.
Here's the Haris.
So the first thing that we're gonna be
asked about the process of m said,
The
first thing that will be asked about is
our prayer.
If if that is good, then that person
will succeed
and be safe.
And if their salah is not in order,
then they're going to be they're going to
lose.
Ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to help us
inshallah keep our salah in order.
And there are 4 things you wanna think
about
with Hissab
that are gonna protect you,
that you wanna look or that you wanna
think about how you use them now in
your
life. So
when you're asked about them, InshaAllah, when I'm
asked about them in the hereafter,
we'll have our answers together.
Oops, sorry.
This, this,
Zoom, man, they got some issues sometimes. So
let me try it here,
for everyone. Yeah. Here's the hadith, everybody. Sorry
about that.
So here here are 4 things you wanna
pay attention to when I mentioned youth that's
in the narration of Imam al Tirmidhi. Here's
the narration of Imam Muslims.
Right? On the day of judgment, a person's
heels will not move until he or she
is asked about 4 things.
And just that if,
how he or she, like,
punished their their body, mistreated their body.
And there's another narration.
And how he or she wasted their time,
their lifetime.
And where and how someone utilized,
their wealth.
So like can you imagine being asked about
your body, your life, and your wealth? Can
you imagine being asked about your youth?
Allahu Akbar like it's very powerful.
And the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam he said
in habbal khala iki illallahi ta'ala
But the most beloved creation to Allah is
a young person like you guys who uses
our youth for the right reason.
You know what what some
someone told me once that's like really nice.
It made me think about things differently.
Is
young people are asked about their youth
and older people will be asked about their
wealth.
He said to me because usually young people,
they don't have a lot of wealth yet,
and usually older people, they don't have the
energy and the vitality of young people.
So the energy and vitality that you have
as though you're young, that's your wealth, man.
And the actual
wealth that someone has in the sense of
monetary wealth when they're older since they don't
have the vitality of being young,
that's like their energy.
Like it's it's it's kinda cool. Right? So
the older person will be responsible for, like,
zakat and for their wealth.
Young people who are makalaf, they're responsible for
how they used their energy
because that's your capital.
That capital that you have now. The other
day, subhanAllah, my daughter is only 11 months
old, Masha'Allah.
I don't know if you guys saw a
Ramadan pictures,
the lamadhan
pictures.
I can try to post one here.
It's pretty cool,
But we were dressed like llamas, said Lamadon.
But
she juked me, man. I was trying to
keep her because we have, you know, we
have the system set up where she can't
escape.
So she was like, boom boom, and I
was like, boom,
And then she
I said, man, this got juiced by a
baby. But the point is, as we get
older, we don't necessarily have the same energy
that we have
when we're younger,
but we may have monetary success. So that's
the energy that we'll be asking about. When
you're young, you may not have the money
that older people have, but you have the
energy.
SubhanAllah. SubhanAllah.
Let's talk about the punishments in the grave,
what's called Adhab will cover.
Adhab,
I'll cover.
You must believe the Sheikh says, Adab will
cover in the book above. So the first
thing he said is Al Akhira. We defined
Al Akhira as everything that happens after your
death.
And then he mentions
the first thing he talks about is what's
called Hissab.
You know, there's something that you can do
that's very practical to help you
with your reckoning and that is to write
a diary or keep a diary.
It's very important,
right, because that way you're doing Hizavah yourself.
You're accounting yourself. Some of the early scholars
whenever they would
finish their day, they would look back at
the day and ask themselves how they live
their lives.
If they did something good, they would praise
Allah. If they did something wrong, they would
ask Allah's forgiveness.
Right? So
you want to think
about, Al Hassan al Basri said, the people
who have the easiest reckoning are the ones
who reckon themselves while they're alive. And the
people that have the hardest reckoning are those
who fail to reckon themselves while they're alive.
So you wanna hold yourself accountable.
Nobody will hold you accountable. Trust me.
When I when I was studying in Egypt,
people would come and they would always ask
me like, how are the teachers in Egypt?
How are the Maseic in Egypt? Are they
good? And I was like, they're good if
you're good. They're bad if you're bad. Like,
how much work are you gonna put in
to hold yourself accountable
to study
and be disciplined?
So Alhissaid,
and that's one of the benefits of this
belief that will be held accountable is it
allows us to live a life of discipline.
As someone who worked, I worked at,
numerous universities across the country.
And I can say that one of the
things we look for outside of someone's academic
success
is we like to talk to people about
how disciplined they are. Do they have a
regimen that they hold themselves accountable to? Those,
those things help people get into university sometimes.
Even
if they may have really, really excellent marks,
but we feel that the person's irresponsible, it's
just because they're intelligent, but they're not really
disciplined.
Sometimes those people don't get in this in
the school they wanna get into.
What people look for
is discipline.
That takes us now to the punishment in
the grave.
You must believe in Adar Abu Kabr as
a Muslim.
It is mentioned in the Quran.
In the 9th chapter verse 110,
Allah says,
they'll be punished twice. Once
in the grave.
This is talking about the disbelievers
and then of course when they meet Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
Ibn Mas'ud said,
the first punishment
is while they were alive, and the second
punishment is in the grave.
Sometimes when Uthman ibn Affan would pass by
a grave, he would weep.
He would weep.
He would actually weep.
And
someone asked him,
and he said that the prophet said,
That the grave is the first stop in
on the journey through the hereafter.
And if somebody
succeeds there, then everything else gets easier.
And if he doesn't succeed,
then everything after that may become
more difficult,
more difficult.
The prophet said
The Prophet said I have never seen anything
except the punishment of the grave is more
terrifying.
And we know in in our in our,
salah,
in Tashahood.
What is one of the things that we're
taught to always make dua for in our
Tashahood?
Right? Like, I I seek refuge.
Inshallah, Ahmed will will take your questions. I'm
I'm happy. You're super excited, man. We'll take
your questions after after after inshallah.
But one of the things we say after
Tashahul is what?
Very clearly.
I
seek refuge in you from the punishment of
the great. Amani, absolutely not. Like the the
Sahaba were scared of the punishment of the
grave. And the prophet said,
said like it's something that should be should
be we should be worried about.
What are the questions in the grave? And
this is what,
my beloved brother, Abdullah, who I owe an
email to, and I'm sorry, man.
He mentioned
in this,
profound narration from Imam Abu Dawood, from Al
Bara ibn Azzim who said,
one day we went with the messenger of
Allah to attend a burial burial of 1
of the Ansar.
And when we arrived to his grave, it
had not been dug, so the prophet said,
and we sat around him intently focused on
his words as though said that we used
to listen to the prophet like, said, Alisa,
something like we were like scarecrows.
He said the prophet said something, he had
a stick in his hand and he began
to scrape the ground and suddenly he raised
his head and said 3
times,
He said 3 times, seek refuge in Allah
from the punishment of the grave.
In the narration of Khanad, the prophet said,
then 2 angels will sit. So after they
dug the
grave,
the angels will sit him up and ask
him.
Man.
Rabuk.
Who is your lord?
What's your name?
Woman?
And who taught you this
Or
man.
Good job. Yahya.
In this narration, the prophet said that the
person will be held up, ask what is
your religion?
Say my religion Islam, ask who is the
man that was that saint was sent to
you? He will say the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam.
Then they will ask, how how do you
know that he responded? I read the book
of Allah in the Quran and I believed
in it and I affirmed it.
Ask him, how do you know that? He
said I read the Quran, I believed in
it, I learned from it. Then a caller
from the heavens will say my servant has
spoken the truth.
Urwa, the prophet
that tells you how severe it is even
though he has been told he's been forgiven.
Still, he said I have I have he
didn't fear the punishment of the grave. He
feared the grave for you and me for
his ummah.
Sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam. Shalaam Khadija, we're gonna
get to that. Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
InshaAllah Khadija we're gonna get to that.
So my servant has spoken the truth so
spread a bed for him in paradise, actually
like a
couch, and clothe him from the garments of
paradise, and a door will be opened for
him, and some of its air from the
paradise will come into his grave. Masha'Allah.
Then the prophet mentioned the death of someone
who denies Islam.
So Alhamdulillah, if you say, llah hilillah Muhammad
Rasoolallah,
InshaAllah, you're gonna be okay.
2 angels will come to him like someone
like Abu Jahl and set him up and
ask him, who is your Lord? He will
respond,
I don't know.
They'll ask him, what is your religion?
You respond.
I don't know. They'll ask him, who is
the person that taught you?
I don't know.
Then a voice will cry from the heavens.
This is a liar. Spread a bed for
him from *, clothe him from *, and
open for him a door from *.
So that it is like his ribs are
being crushed together.
InshaAllah,
if you live a life of faith and
you say, la ilaha illallah, you're going to
say the answer. This second part is not
for Muslims. Right?
The second part is for people like, Firaoun,
Abu Jahal,
you know,
those kind of people. So I want you
to understand something. And I I I get
upset when people teach us now, like, yeah,
Khadija, you're gonna be in the grave. No
Khadija, you say, la la la la.
Alhamdulillah.
And you you live your life a certain
way as a Muslim,
then this is not this is something that's
actually should give you inspiration.
Oh, Alhamdulillah.
Inshallah will be from those those those blessed
people.
Alright then. Alhamdulillah.
Yeah. I have a question.
So if they're a Christian or something, and
then they ask what is your religion? Will
they say Christianity?
I would think so. Yeah. And
Amir Mohammed, we answered that question. If you
go back and listen to the videos, I
think the second video,
we talked about people that have never been
exposed to Islam. The prophet said they will
be judged by Allah's mercy and justice. It's
a different issue. Allah is Allah is kind.
Right?
Allah is Latif,
Kareem, Raheem.
So we want to understand that the second
case scenario for people who, like, openly disbelieved
Inla ilaha illa Allah
and were like bad people.
The punishment in the grave is serious business.
That's why the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam hears
what I was talking about earlier. He taught
us to say
at the end of every prayer,
But Malcolm X, he learned
proper Islam at the end of his life,
Alhamdulillah.
And again, Malik, we talked about this in
the very early on. People that haven't been
properly exposed.
We say their cases to Allah.
Subhanallah, it's not our business to talk about
whether they're whether they're going to have our
help. But that's a great question, Malik. And
you're named after Malcolm X. I named my
son after Malcolm X, Malik Shabaz.
So this Dua,
I hope some people can memorize it if
you already memorized it. Masha Allah. Masha Allah.
When you come back next time, wanna hear
people who have memorized this Dua.
If they have memorized it, Insha'Allah,
and you can say it in English, of
course.
You don't have to say it in Arabic.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala knows all languages. Alhamdulillah.
And those who memorize in Arabic, that's good
too. So
I have a question. Don't worry about that.
Yes, sir.
So in the grave, if if you can
speak Arabic, I was gonna ask you, like,
in English or your language.
It's fine.
Okay.
No problem.
How to protect yourself from the punishment of
the grave?
Remember this everybody,
Just as there are punishments in the grave,
there are also going to be blessings in
the grave.
Yeah. Yeah. I'll put the dua up in
the Google classroom and maybe I'll record it
for you
so you can hear
it. You can hear it inshallah.
Nice. So remember that just as there are
punishments in the grave, there's also bliss in
the grave. Alhamdulillah.
And the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, this these
are really beautiful hadith,
man, stated in the hadith from Imam Abu
Dawood. And here are some of the things
you wanna think about to protect yourself from
the punishment of the great. 1st is to
read Surat Al Mulk
on the regular.
Right?
And the prophet said in the middle in
Surat Al
Prophet said that there is a chapter in
the Quran that is only 30 verses but
will
intercede for a person until that person is
forgiven in their grave,
And this is Sultan
Muk. Imam Atirmidhi mentions from Ibn Abbas.
This is so cool. Some of the Sahaba
they were digging and accidentally
dug up a man's grave.
They were shocked to find
his they could hear him reading Sultanuk,
the whole chapter.
And they told the prophet
and the Prophet said, Heal Manya
that Sultanulq
is a prohibitor means it prohibits Adhaab
from someone being punished.
And it is a savior, a salvation.
That saves a person from the punishment in
the grave. The
hadith by the way is authentic.
So the first, mashallah,
way to protect ourselves from the adab of
kabar
is to read
as much as we can, like,
ideally every evening. I know sometimes it's difficult.
What I used to do is, like, if
I'm praying,
Maghrib,
I'll read, like, the first page.
And then in Isha,
I'll read the second page. And then in
Masun, I'll just read the last page.
Yeah. Yeah. That's Tabarak. So Talmuk Yahya is
Tabarak. Same chapter.
So to mook is sort of Tabarak. Yes,
Abdullah.
So I decide so to mook, like, every
night.
Masha'Allah.
Like, after I'm done with,
Absolutely. Absolutely.
Absolutely.
Perfectly perfectly fine. That's when you actually want
to be,
doing that. Right? You wanna be doing that
because
between Maghrib and Isha, it's good. After Asar,
also is good.
So those are the times you wanna read.
So to look, guys.
So, Yahia
Tabarak is.
It's okay if you say it during the
day. Also, it's fine. You don't have to
say it at night.
So, like, you know, sometimes when I was
on the subway and I go to NYU
to teach, I'll read, like,
to to, like, silently, I'll read, like, a
page.
Then on the way home, I'll read a
page. And then when I read,
my sunnah for a shot, I just finished
the last part.
If someone can let, Zack, you know what
number is so he can see it inshallah,
because he's asking
what is so to look chapter 67.
And again, you can read it in English.
If you don't speak Arabic, you don't read
Arabic. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala said that the
difference in your languages is a sign from
Allah.
The second the the second thing we can
do is
to
actually, the first chap first chapter of the
29th juice.
This class ends in in about 10 minutes.
It's an hour long.
The second is to be charitable, but if
you need to go, you can go. No
worries, man. It's to be charitable and focus
on development and relief.
The prophet said in.
This is so nice. The prophet said that
charity, it extinguishes the height the the the
heat of the grave.
Also, a person who dies on a Friday
or Thursday,
That there's no one who dies
on the day of Jummah or the night
of Jummah except Allah will preserve them from
the Muslims, from the punishment of the grave.
And the last, Inshallah, this is where we're
going
to stop is we'll stop here. What are
the causes of the punishment of the grave?
We'll pick that up on Monday. Inshallah.
You guys have any questions? I can take
your questions. Insha'Allah. I hope you all are
doing
amazing.
So like you said, no Muslim dies on
Jannah or the night of Jannah. Like, what
it says right here. Is that a hadith?
That is a hadith. That's why it says,
if you right there.
See that? Why is that?
I this is the statement of the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. I don't necessarily have
an answer for you as to why. Some
because they said that that is the day
of judgment. Right? They have judgment is gonna
be on Jumuah.
So some people said that that that that's
why. Yeah. I'll I'll put the dua in
the in the Google classroom.
I don't know
If someone
yeah. Yeah. I got you, bro.
I don't understand why I can't fix that
thing. But I'll take care of it. I'm
doing my best in showing.
I think it should work now, Basil.
I don't know about Eid.
Any other
questions?
So I think Basil is trying to show
me where he is. So we can I
have a question?
Yes, sir.
So he said that, if a Muslims die
on the on on, like,
Friday The prophet the prophet said. Right? I
didn't say.
The prophet said that if
if they die, like, on Friday,
so they will be protected from the punishment
in the grave. Inshallah.
So I'm in, like, 2014.
My mom died, like,
in Ramadan, like, on
Friday or, like, Thursday.
Okay. I got you, Basil.
I'll take care of it. That's weird.
So, Abdullah, you were saying
that, again, your
mother did you say your mother died on
a Friday?
My my my grandma.
Man, I'm sorry, man. This is 2014.
Yeah.
So
she's gonna be receiving
this beautiful Hadith, and then
pray for your grandmother, bro. May Allah
bless her and
I mean, thank you.
No. Of course.
Okay, Basil. I got you.
Any other,
questions?
Yeah, Allah. So see
from Morocco.
His grandmother died on Friday.
I have a question. Yes.
Is it permissible to listen to music during
Ramadan?
You know, it's a personal choice. Right?
You know, it's a decision you have to
make for yourself.
I would I would kind of discourage people
from, like, listening to music in Ramadan as
much as I I would like I like
the answer of Omar Suleiman,
Imam Omar Suleiman. Like, if you've done all
the things you need to do in that
day, then you can do those kind of
things. But if you haven't finished, like, the
things that you're trying to do,
then, you know, maybe it's best to, like,
yeah. And she is okay.
She is okay. But, like, I don't think
anyone should be listening to music that's talking
about stuff that's like
like straight up ratchet haram. You know what
I mean? Like, no.
Like, those aren't the kind of things that,
we should be listening to in Ramadan or
outside of Ramadan.
You know? So I bet.
Excuse me?
Sorry. I can't hear you guys.
Any other questions
people have? If not, Yeah. I have a
I have a question. Sure. Sure. Can you
post the the eyes in the classroom?
Yeah. Yeah. I said I would do that.
I got you. Okay. Thanks.
I got you. I got you.
I'm trying to figure out how got muted.
Sure.
Yes.
My dad told me that you will be
judged on the last thing you were doing
before you die.
So if you die while fasting, is that
good?
Insha'Allah.
Of course. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala give
us a
a good ending inshallah.
Yes, sir.
I have a question. Did you,
say the Jen story already or you're gonna
say it? Oh, you missed the Jen story,
man. It was a few that was, like
that was last week.
No. You said you're gonna say another one,
or you didn't say?
Nah. I don't know. Story is posted on
YouTube, so it's okay. You didn't miss it
that badly.
Yeah. Yeah. There's another story.
Yeah.
I I have to think about that one,
though.
Okay. It's a little heavy.
But, yeah, the one that from last week
is on the YouTube The YouTube
book. Everybody. You guys have a great,
weekend, and I will see you on Monday
inshallah.
Appreciate your patience, man.
Mashallah, you did it, bro.
You know what the code for the classroom?
Yeah. It's not working for me.
What is yeah. So email me at,
[email protected].
Yes. Of course, sir. Thank you. Have a
good one.
