Here we are.
Back again
after a nice weekend.
I hope everybody is doing great.
Hesham, I'm gonna make you a co host
so you can don't mind and let people
in.
You made him the host.
Let me see here
what I can do to,
Nice.
So, inshallah, I hope everybody's doing really well.
And you guys had an awesome weekend.
Can you guys hear me inshallah?
Just making sure everyone can hear me super
quickly.
Nice. Nice. Nice.
No. No. I'm also the host.
So we have a lot to talk about
today.
Oh, yeah. I think you're right. Hesham, if
you can make me
a host.
You have to make me a cohost again.
Yeah. Yeah. So just select me as the
host, and then I'll I'll reset you as
the user.
Oh, I did it. Yeah. Now I'm gonna
set you now as the host. The thing
is, so many people are jumping in. When
I click your name, it won't keep your
name selected.
And I see there's, like, a 1000 Sarahs
in here, and I don't know why.
So we have to, like,
when I joined in for some reason, my
name was set to Sarah
Abdul.
Classroom.
Sarah put a, a link, and she accidentally
put her link with her name in it
with her email. So that's why, like, I
made that mistake too.
Nice. It's all good. It happens. It's Monday.
Okay, He shall let me
goodness gracious. So many people coming in. So
I hope everybody is doing good, man. And
you guys got the exam, and I've been
getting people's exams back. Masha'Allah.
And, you know, alhamdulillah.
I can just say so far so good.
Nobody has, you know,
totally failed or fallen off the horse as
we say.
Let's pick up where we were talk what
we're talking about.
I I didn't I didn't get the I
don't think I got the exam.
Are you on the,
Google Classroom?
Yeah. It's at the Google Classroom, man. Okay.
Yeah. You gotta you gotta hurry, man. You
don't wanna mess up and, like, you know,
not pass the exam, bro.
That'll be, like, bad deal.
Just messing. Yeah. It's actually at the Google
classroom at the very top. Everything is always
at that Google classroom that you can use.
I I wanna love Caesar.
You can cut and paste it if you
want to,
go ahead.
But let's
let's
after we finish the exam, do we share
it to you? I was just wondering about
that. It's in the directions of the Google
Classroom, what you're supposed to do. Right? Says
to email it to you. Oh, okay. Thank
you. I'm sorry.
So let's talk about
pick up what we started last time and
that was talking about
Shailtin and Jin.
And,
as I recall,
I promise to tell you guys
a Jin story.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
I don't know, man. I don't know if
I wanna tell you guys this Jim story
because
it's pretty deep.
It's pretty deep. So last time we started
talking about what are jinn.
And we said that, jinn are from a
word which means to be unseen.
We talked about the hierarchy of jinns, what
they actually are. I got you, Insha'Allah. I'll
tell you guys.
Masha'Allah. Talked about the hierarchy of jinns, different
types of jinns, shaitan, Iblis.
We talked about Iblis
and the notion that he was at one
time an angel,
and kinda dealt with that issue. Then we
talked about
the human possession
Human possession
and how we believe that jinns enter a
person.
We talked about, can you see a jinn?
We said, no. Not in her true form.
This book,
I'll post it again
today in your,
this part of the book in your classroom
folder.
And this is where we stopped.
Eleven ways that you can,
protect yourself
from jinn. Right?
And we'll go through those today, and then
we'll talk about the 7 strategies.
Yeah, Sarah. Don't worry about it. You're trying
to help someone out, alhamdulillah.
Allah reward you and bless you, Insha'Allah.
I wish I could make that good of
a mistake. You know what I mean? Like,
that's a good mistake to make.
So we're talking about now the 11 things
we can do to protect ourselves from Jin.
Then we're going to talk about 7 strategies
that Shaytan has for you to try to
take you out.
Take me out.
And then I'll tell the story and we'll
be done for today.
So the first way that you want to
protect yourself, the first thing you can do
to protect yourself from shaitan
is to say, a'udhu billahi mina shaitan rajeem.
It's not that hard. Right?
Allah says, you know,
very beautifully,
Right? If shaitan tries to bother you or
suggest you to do something wrong,
say a'udhu billahi minash shaitanerjee.
Something else also my teacher told me is
you could say.
So
I had this friend when I first became
Muslim, he had this really bad habit that
he couldn't get rid of. So he asked
our sheikh, like, what can I do
to stop it? He said the next time
you wanna do it, say Bismillah Al Akkran.
He's like, Sheikh, that's crazy.
If I say if I say Bismillah rahman.
I won't do, the Sheikh said. Exactly.
You're not gonna be like, Bismillah Al Rahman
Al Rahim, let me rob a bank or,
like, Bismillah Al Rahim, let me treat my
parents bad or, you know, Bismillah Al Rahim,
let me disrespect somebody. Right?
Nobody's gonna say it that way. So I
also believe him in the shaytahr al Najee.
And also another thing that will help you,
like, if you feel you're about to do
something really bad, say
Bismillah rahmanay because there's no way you'll do
it.
The second is to recite the last two
chapters of the Quran.
Imam Matir Midi, he relates from Abu Sayed
al Khudri
that the prophet, sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam,
Waynal Insan Hatan Nuzirat Al Mawaida That
the
prophet
toward the end of his life,
what he would do
to seek refuge
from Shaitan
and and the, we'll talk about it in
the future, the
is to to
recite the last two chapters of the
He said, so
the prophet
towards the end of his life,
he, alayhi salatu salam,
stuck only to sort of fallak
and Surat al Nas.
So the first we said is
The second is
to recite the last two chapters of the
Quran, talking about how to protect ourselves from
shaytan because it's a lot of shady stuff
out there. You know what I mean? So
like this one time I was in this
Muslim country
and
I was in Malaysia.
I don't know if we have anyone here
from Malaysia.
And I was praying Jumah in Malaysia. Right.
Oh, nice. Masha'Allah.
So.
As I was leaving the prayer.
Oh, may Allah protect your mother, man. As
I was leaving the prayer
as I was leaving the prayer, this guy,
he came up to me,
and I'm the only white dude in the
whole place. Now I mean,
and I'm, like, 65,
so I'm sticking out.
So this guy, he came up to me
and he was like,
I know some secret about you.
I was like, really? What? He's like, I
know where you're from. I was like, bro,
like,
it ain't no mystery.
He's like, I have a a jinn
that comes and tells me
things about people.
I
said, really, you have a jinn
that comes and tells you secrets about people?
He was like, yeah, man.
So I was like, alright.
Tell me my secret. He's like, you're from
the west.
Wow.
Your gin is a freaking genius.
This is the most intelligent gin ever. Who
would have ever thought
I'm from the west?
So then he kept telling me
it it's so wrong. So then he told
me his gen had a 300 IQ.
He told me
that if I say these special things,
Satan will leave me alone.
So
I said, okay.
Tell me what it is. Then he said
some weird stuff, man.
So I said it,
and then he was looking at me. Right?
This was when I was younger, you know,
so this isn't now. This is when I
was young and wild.
So I
said, hey, man.
It doesn't work.
He said, no. No. Say it again.
So I said it again.
I said it doesn't work, man.
Say it again.
So I said it three times.
I said it don't work.
He said why? I said because you're still
here.
I was like, you're still here.
You're a.
Yeah.
You got really angry.
Yeah. It was it
was fatality
fatality move.
But,
yeah. So it's important
that we learn
these things
so we can
that's not the story, bro.
Oh, no. No. No. No. You'll know you'll
know you'll know when that story starts.
Yeah.
You're gonna have to put on your for
that one, man. You're gonna have to put
that kufi on tight
for that story.
So SubhanAllah.
Yeah,
that brother,
he,
he was proof that it did work. So
number 1, the reason I'm saying that it's
very important to know what's authentically reported by
the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasalam so you can
protect yourself
from shady people like that. So the first
one is to say,
The second one is to read the last
two chapters of the Quran and as Abu
Sa'id al Khotrihi
said, toward the end of his life,
that is what he did.
The third is to read Ayatul Kursi. Check
out this hadith.
Abu Hureyra said that the prophet, sallallahu alaihi
wasallam,
he put him in charge of looking after
zakat,
and as he did
it, one night a man came to him,
an old man, and he asked him if
he could take some food, like, yo, can
you hook me up with some food?
And Abu Huerra, he said to him, fear
Allah. Like, I can't give you the food.
You have to go through the proper channels,
right, to get, like
because this is for poor people, like, I
don't even know who you are.
And so he did it for 3 nights,
and then finally he said to Abu Huerra.
Abu Huureira said to him, I'm gonna take
you to the prophet
because, like, this is wrong.
There's no nepotism.
And then he said, Wallahi, please don't take
me to him. If you don't take me
to him, I will teach you something that
will benefit you.
And Abu Horeira, he said sure, he said
before you sleep recite Ayatul Kursi.
Allah will place a guard at your bed
and no devil will come close to you.
We're gonna talk about that inshallah in the
future.
The next day,
Abu Huarera, he came to say to Muhammad
sallallahu alaihi wasallam
and say to him,
how was how was the guy who visited
you last night? And Abu Horere was like,
what? What? What?
And then Abu Hurel told him this is
what happened.
And the prophet said, who was Sadiq?
He's he told you the truth that the
kingdom Khuzuba he's also a liar. In nahus
Shaytan.
He told him that was one of the
Shaytan. So this is one of the narrations
that now which is authentic that not only
tells us that we should read ayat or
kursi before we sleep,
but also that shaitan can shape shift
into human form.
The 4th
is to recite Surat Al Baqarah.
No. No. No. No.
He Abu Hared was like, I'm gonna take
you to the prophet and turn you in
because you keep asking me,
right,
to give you zakat, and I can't.
He said, if you if you don't take
me, I'll teach you this. So he taught
him.
Right? Before you go to sleep, read Ayatul
Kursi.
And the good question. And then the it's
okay.
I'm here for you. Like, don't worry about
that. Nice. Thanks for sharing it. Basah. So
the prophet told
him he told you the truth, but he's
a liar. That was Shaytan. That old man
that came to you was Shaytan.
Got it?
Masha'Allah.
The 4th
is to read sota baqarah
If you can't read,
you can play.
Right? Yeah. Some are good, some are bad.
To
read if you can't read you can play
it.
You can play
it. Don't make your houses like graveyards. Meaning,
like, you know not reading the Quran it's
not gonna bring life to your heart so
it's like a great the house is like
a graveyard like where there's no dhikr it's
like dead hearts So bring your hearts to
life with dhikr.
Rasool said that shaitan runs, flees from a
house
where,
Surat
Al Baqarah is recited.
If you can't read all of Surat Al
Baqarah,
the 5th, there's an authentic narration
from Anaman ibnubashir that the prophet
said,
Like, you know,
that the last two verses of Surat Al
Baqarah are not recited in a home for
3 consistent days
except shaitan. He's gonna he's gonna dip
eviction notice.
Surat Abaqrah is the immediate
eviction notice
for shaitan mashallah.
Number 5th is reciting any verses of the
Qur'an. You can listen if you can't recite
and then have the Niyyah like if I
could read it, I would read
it, right? And also you can read it
over time. So you could read like a
part a portion every day, you know, just
as long as you're keeping
Surat Al Baqarah on your playlist,
right?
Prophet said
which is
the 40th chapter
Whoever does that, whoever reads, like,
and or but
And Ayatul Kursi,
in the morning, shaitan will leave them until
the whoever reads them in the evening,
shaitan will leave them to the more. Masha'Allah.
The 7th, if if those may be hard
for people,
is to remember Allah.
Right? To say any type of dhikr.
The best dhikr, the best remembrance you can
make is.
The prophet, salAllahu alayhi wasalam, said, aftarummaqutu
anawanabi
yurimin baalillahi lahi lahi is Allah. The best
thing I and the prophet said is la
ilaha illallah.
The 7th is remembering Allah.
In general, as I said, and with that,
as I said, is to say
La ilaha illallah. And look at this nice
hadith.
The Prophet
said
that, right? That that this Sayna Zakariyah,
one of the commandments he gave to his
people was that someone should remember Allah abundantly,
and he said, that is like a man,
a person.
Person who remembers our lives like someone whose
enemies are like hot on his heels. Right?
Hot on his heels, about to catch him.
It's about to catch him until they arrive
to a well
at a well fortified
fortress.
So
the lightness of remembering Allah and escaping from
evil and shaitan,
You make that vikr is like Mashallah,
you have this protective fortress
around you InshaAllah.
And the prophet SAWS-one hundred and seventy seven
said a person will not protect himself from
Satan except by remembering Allah.
Like the best way that you can protect
yourself is the remnants of Allah.
Whoever says that a 100 times in the
morning and the evening will be protected throughout
the day and throughout the night.
The 9th thing that you can do
is to make wudu.
Udu.
Is to make udu.
And sorry. This is the unedited
is to make.
The prophet
said that in.
Thank you for letting me know.
That anger is from shaitan.
And that shaitan was created from fire.
And the way that you extinguish fire is
with water. It's
very nice. So you find yourself getting, like,
really, really angry and really upset.
There was this guy who used to come
to my office with his wife,
and they both had anger issues.
So they they were also in their house,
which is good. Inshallah,
if that person unmutes themselves again, Hashem, it's
going to let him out.
So that person keeps doing that, you know,
look, man. There's other places you can go
and act a fool, bro.
There's no need to do that here, man.
We're here trying to talk about a lot
of his messenger. You know, like,
when
the prophet used to talk about Allah, people
will be quiet.
So this is a place where you have
a lot of amazing young people they wanna
learn.
Right? You wanna go be a clown.
It's a lot of circuses out there, Masha'Allah.
You can go.
As I said earlier, I'm gonna tell the
story at the end. Right now, though,
this is more important than the story, though.
Right? Because this is gonna protect you. The
story is gonna freak you out. But imagine
if you hear the super story I'm gonna
tell you later, and then you didn't pay
attention. You don't know how to protect yourself
from Shaitan.
What? Gonna be nervous. You're gonna be nervous
till Ramadan
because Shaytan hasn't checked into the county jail
yet. I saw his lawyer drop by. He's
about to pick him up for Ramadan and
drop him off at the county jail. So
you wanna make wudu, masha'Allah,
masha'Allah.
So the prophet says so I told that
couple, you should make udu, like when you
feel that you're about to get really angry
make udu and alhamdulillah that along with marriage
counseling it helped them out.
So sometimes if you get mad at your
siblings, you know, they wear your clothes, they
take something from you, your parents make you
really upset, you get angry, something happens,
Watch what happens.
So these are the the the
8
things you can do
to protect yourself.
I put 11, but I only mentioned the
8 here.
Other 2 other 3 are a little bit
interesting.
Eight ways to protect yourself from Shaytan.
Let's review them quickly. Number 1 is,
Number 2 is to recite the last two
chapters of the Quran.
Number 3 is to read Ayatul Kursi. Number
4 is to read or listen to Surat
Al Baqarah.
Number 5 is reading the last two verses
of Surat Al Baqarah.
Right?
Khawati Mal Baqarah. You know, they're so nice
that they they were actually revealed twice. Number
6 is reciting verses of Quran
that seek refuge from Shaitan.
Number 7 is to remember Allah. We said
The best thing to say is La ilaha
illa Allah.
And then finally, the last one, number 8
is to observe Wudu.
Now
I'm gonna list them here, but there are
the ways
a time
tries
to take you out.
There are a number of ways
in which shaitan
is gonna try to take you out.
You wanna remember this.
Number 1,
to make you
a disbeliever.
That's his primary goal,
to make you a disbeliever.
In disbelief,
there are 2 ways that shaitan comes to
you
to cause you to fall into disbelief.
Number 1 is
desires.
You know, like, have you ever had a
friend or somebody that was doing something wrong?
And you would tell them, man, this is,
like, really wrong or maybe in your own
life,
this is really wrong, but then your desires
are like, nah, it's okay. It's alright. No
problem.
So desires can take us to disbelief. It's
called Shehwa.
The second thing, and this is probably more
common,
that shaytan uses
to take people into disbelief,
to try to take you out,
is doubt
is doubt. Let me ask you guys a
question, and you can either unmute yourself or
you can type it in the chat box.
Is it bad to have doubt?
Like, is it in itself wrong to have
doubt,
No. But you have to know what you
have doubt about.
Nice.
Who else wants to share? But Doubt helps
you a lot.
When you have doubt
and you, like,
take away that doubt, it helps you strengthen
your belief.
Okay. Yeah. Like, for instance, if you question
your faith, it actually makes you wanna learn
more, so it makes you a stronger believer.
Nice. Nice. You just have to make sure
it's not unhealthy doubt. Like, it's affecting how
you believe in Allah.
Okay.
That's good. You also have to have doubt
for, like, a reason. Like, you can't just
doubt something for no reason.
Yes. Like like, was said are good. So,
like, was said early on. Right? You wanna
know why you doubt. There has to be
a purpose for
it. Uh-huh. I heard there was a hadith
about
a a man came to the prophet
and said that he kept having doubts and
the kasharitan kept kept coming to him and
giving him doubts.
And
the prophet said that
that
dispelling the doubts was a sign of his
faith.
Wow. Nice.
Good. Makes you reflect on your decisions.
Yeah. That's right. Makes you think sometimes doubt
gives you focus.
Nice, man. These are great answers. Let's let's
should we ask Siri?
Siri,
is it okay to doubt?
I guess Siri doesn't have an answer for
us. But Mashallah,
in general, yes, doubts can be very healthy.
Doubts can be transformative.
So when Shaytan comes to us with doubts,
what we should do
is ask.
We should ask people
that we trust.
We should ask people
that know us, people that we feel comfortable
with that can help us navigate.
So in general, Shaytan tries to make us
disbelievers
through
desires
and doubts.
Alright?
The second thing that,
Shaytan does to try to take us out,
which is very important,
is to fall into
a sin.
Haram combo.
You know what I mean? Like, shaitan wants
to take us into big sense. If he
can't make us disbelievers,
then the second thing is to take us
into major sense,
haram stuff.
Right?
3rd,
minor sense.
Again, it gets you to fall and mean
to fall into major sins. We talked about
this earlier, the difference between major sins and
minor sins.
It gets us try to try to fall
into minor sins and uses those
as a trigger,
as a segue
to the major sins.
He uses the major sins
to take us out with desires
to lead us to disbelief.
See that?
The 4th
is that it gets us into dislike things.
So, like, they may be permissible.
We talked about that before, Mohammed.
They made, but, so a major sin is
one that mentions * or a punishment.
Understand is is mentioned in the context, but
it's not in the context of * or
punishment.
The 4th are permissible things, but, like, they
may bother people.
They may,
be like, you know,
they could lead to minor sins. They could
lead to major sins.
So the 4th is to get us to
fall into what's called makruhat.
The 5th is crazy, man.
That is that if you can't get us
to be disbelievers,
if you can't thank you, Sarah. If you
can't
get us to fall into big sins,
if you can't get us to fall into
minor sins,
if you can't get us to fall into
the dislike stuff,
the la the second, the 5th, sorry, is
to get us to fall into the permissible.
Like, you have to understand in the Quran
Allah says,
Social media or, like,
today, man, my son, he wanted to play
video games. So I play with him a
little, and then I had to do work,
and then he had to go because he's
he's in Malaysia right now doing his studies.
So I was like, yo, man.
I can I can do
I can do this? You know, I can
keep playing this game.
But if I did that, I wouldn't have
finished my work. Right? So playing a game
is permissible.
But
Inshallah, now we're gonna talk about the story
at the end, guys. I'm so excited. You're
excited.
But if I had done that, I wouldn't
have gotten my work done. So, af, yeah,
procrastination.
In fact, in the 4th chapter of the
Quran,
shaitan says,
I'm gonna make them procrastinate.
Not only procrastinate hadith,
but to waste my time in the permissible.
Like, one time,
my son's gonna kill me for telling this
story.
I wanted to see
how long
he could play video games
nonstop?
You know? This is when he was, like,
a bit younger.
So it was a Saturday.
So my man, he woke up early. He
started getting into that call of duty.
He was going hard. Right?
Then I said,
I wanna watch, man, and see
how long
he can do this. At that time, he
was memorizing the Quran with me.
So
I remember
I left. I came back. It was almost
door. It was still playing.
So I brought him lunch.
I gave him the sandwich. You know what
I mean? Or whatever it was. And he
needs samosas.
His drink and my man just kept going.
You know.
Then SubhanAllah, when Assar came around,
I sat behind him, and I was just
like this watching. It was an amazing game,
though, for real. I almost got pulled in
too. You know? It it was like a
battle of the nuts.
So I was watching him, you know,
and then
he turned around, and his eyes were so
red. Right?
He said to me,
is it Lohr yet? I said, dude, we
just prayed, bro.
He was like, man, it it feels like
10 minutes or something.
Doesn't feel like any time has passed.
Then I said to him, you know, you
still have, like, work to do.
So the point is, it's it's permissible,
but, like, Shaitan
tries to get us to lose, and this
is the word that I want you to
remember.
There was a hadith
where,
when they were getting ready to go to
a war, I forgot which one,
there was a a man and he was
he said that he would pack his stuff
and join the army after.
But, Chebon was, like, telling him do something
else, and by the end of the day,
he,
he didn't get,
back and he didn't join them. So he
said he would do it the next day.
And the next day, he didn't. And on
the last day, he couldn't do it, and
then he was too late to catch up
with the army. So there you go. Right?
So, Shaytan,
not only does he try to get us
to procrastinate or waste time, there's a number
of things that happened. I want you all
to remember this.
His main
line of attack is to cause us to
lose our discipline.
Right? To lose our discipline.
And when when we so so it's okay
it's okay to engage in these permissible things.
Right? Maybe some of you read hadith that
said, like,
playing chess is not allowed.
So actually, what the hadith means is if
you play chess to the point
that
it wastes your time.
So someone, like, would miss salah
or someone would neglect
their family.
Maybe some of you read the hadith that
the woman who goes to the graveyard is
cursed.
That hadith doesn't mean any woman who goes
to the graveyard is cursed.
In Arabic, you you find something that you
don't find in English. It's a zawwarat.
A zawwarat
is somebody who goes to the graveyard so
much
that she neglects her responsibilities. In the time
of the prophet there were people that used
to do this.
Doesn't mean, like, a lady who wants to
go visit her husband's grave or her children's
grave
or her parents grave
like anyone else.
Look at the hadith,
the authentic narration when the Prophet died Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam, Saydaf Fatima radiAllahu
anha. She used to visit his grave. Nobody
kicked her out.
The dua that we know for entering the
graveyard,
those are narrated by who? By women, why
would the Prophet teach women the dua for
the graveyard
if they weren't allowed in the graveyard? But
because of the mistranslation,
people read it and understand it wrong.
So the hadith actually is saying someone who
did it so much that they would waste
their time
that it would take them away from their
responsibilities.
So the 5th is that Shaitan
tries to get us into the permissible.
I
mean, these are discipline,
and it takes us away from what we're
supposed to be doing.
Shafi?
Yes?
Doesn't
the shaitan try to make you waste time
so you don't
pray, and then when you don't pray, you
end up,
doing,
it makes it harder for you to stop
not do sins?
Exactly.
Say it again.
When you prayer will help you do good
things and keep you away from sins. So
when the shaitan causes you to waste time,
it stops you from
the shaitan tries to stop you from praying.
Exactly. So as I said, that's great. That's
a great point. Who said that, masha'Allah?
Abdulrahman.
Ayesha Abdulrahman. That was good, man. That was
good. That was good. That was good. Masha'Allah.
So exactly. So Shaytan
tries to take you into things and build
on to it to lead you to a
greater evil. Right? So if you look at
this
trajectory here,
you can see
that Shaytan
starts by trying to get someone to fall
into disbelief, into major sins, into minor sins,
and to slight,
then they're permissible. And the 6th
the 6th
is if he can't get someone to fall
into any of those
is to get you to choose the less
of 2 goods.
And that shows you how bad he is.
Like, he doesn't give up. Imam Ibn Jozi,
in his book, he wrote about shaitan. It's
like such an amazing book,
He said a shaitan sabur.
Like, he's resilient.
Like, he doesn't just give up easily.
So let's say that, you know, you can
go and
to a rally for climate change.
Or you could go work to help people
that are being,
you know, incarcerated.
Or you could sit in your house and
make zikr. Which one of those is more
important? To help the people.
But shaytan may come to you and be
like, yeah. You should stay home. Zikr.
What if after salah it's time to make
zikr and your friend he wants to show
you something like on hulu
or on YouTube
It's like, oh, that's your brother. That's your,
you know, you should work to have your
brotherhood. No. But this is the time for
dhikr.
So Shaytan will try to get you to
choose between the lesser of 2 goods.
Maybe sometimes our parents, they need our help.
Right? This happened to me when I was
in college.
My parents need help.
But then it's like a MSA event.
And it's not even like a super important
MSA event. It's like some, you know kind
of secondary thing.
Man, what I want to stay home help
my mom and dad let me go Masha'Allah
to the MSA event hamdulillah Islam Dawah
Dawah. So, subhanAllah,
right?
Shaitan will try to get you to choose
the lesser
of 2 goods,
the lesser of 2 goods.
The last,
and
this is where it's time to tell scary
gen story,
is an all out attack.
That means he's gonna throw everything at you
from those first 6.
He's gonna come at you.
He's gonna try to take you
and get you caught up.
But before I tell the story,
I want you to remember this.
Shaytan,
he uses 4 doors,
5 doors actually,
to deceive you. Like, his way to mess
with you,
his way to get at you
is 5 ways.
I want you to remember this.
Number 1 is insecurities.
Have you ever felt, like, really insecure and
then it makes you do something stupid for
people? Happens to everybody.
Happens to everybody because when you're insecure,
you're desperate.
Right? You wanna be accepted.
So Shaytani tries to make us feel low,
like, Allah will never forgive you. You did
this. Allah will never forgive you.
This this this, like, Allah,
you're no good, blah blah blah blah. This
is one of the tricks of.
The second
is arrogance.
I'm good. I don't have any problems, man.
I'm great.
I'm so good. Masha'Allah.
One time I was sitting with one of
my teachers and he was saying everybody should
make Tawba, like everybody should say it.
Because all of us make mistakes.
And there was this one brother with us,
He was very arrogant.
And he said, man, I don't need to
make tawba.
I haven't done anything wrong.
So the sheikh, he said, no. No. You
need to make Tawba. He said, what? He
said for being stupid.
Right? You
you think you didn't make any mistakes?
Like, what's wrong? That that in itself,
to think that you haven't done anything wrong
needs toobah.
The next 3 are very important.
Anger.
One of the gates that Shaitan uses to
get into us
is anger.
After that,
negligence.
Oh, man. I'll do it. Yeah, man. I'm
a do it.
Yeah. I got this.
I got this, Holmes.
I got this.
Then it never gets done.
Once I was, one of my best friends
in college when I first converted, he was
from Karachi.
His name is Adi Mujahid.
He's a really good guy. But he used
to cuss a lot, you know. Like, some
people they just, you know,
guess he watched too much Chappelle. I don't
know. But he he used to cuss a
lot.
And
yeah. Yeah. So the the the the the
the first is
insecurity.
The second is arrogance.
The
third is anger.
The 4th
is ghafla.
So he used to cuss a lot,
And I was a new Muslim, you know,
so, like, I didn't know that much about
Islam, but I knew we're not supposed to
talk like a potty mouth.
You know what I'm saying? So
one day we're going to
the mall
and he ran a stop line stop sign
and this car, like,
we almost hit this car. Right?
Then he started cussing.
And I said to him, you know,
SubhanAllah,
every time you say SubhanAllah,
you build a tree in Jannah.
But every time you say that, you cut
one down.
Like, every time the prophet, every time you
say,
you build yeah. Cussing is haram, man.
Bro, discussing haram? Come on, man.
So
I said to him,
when you curse, right,
you cut the tree down.
So this, subhanallah,
who kept driving,
and he started to say, subhanallah.
He's Muslim, but, you know, people have mistakes.
It's okay, man. People make mistakes.
So he was like, subhanallah. He was trying
to practice, like, every time he wanted to
cuss, he would say, subhanallah.
Subhanallah. So he was saying a lot of
Subhanallah.
So I said to him as we got
to the mall,
dang dude, you done built yourself a farm
of Subhanallah.
And then we were in the foot locker,
and they didn't have the shoes he was
wanting, and then he dropped a really bad
word.
He dropped a really bad word.
So I said, man, you just tore down
a tree, bro.
So Shaitan,
he's like, man, I'm gonna quit. I'm gonna
quit in 2 weeks.
I said, no, you're not.
Who who says I'm gonna quit in 2
weeks?
So I said to him, do you say,
for example, like, you're gonna quit something good
into like, you're gonna quit something bad in
2 weeks?
Like, I'm gonna quit, you know, like, not
wearing deodorant for 2 weeks? Like, does it
work with bad stuff?
Then he said to me, yeah, you know
what? The only reason I'm saying I'll quit
in 2 weeks is because I wanna request.
So I said you should quit now. So
Shaitan
tries to make you
request.
The last is desires. We already talked about
that. Alright.
Now it's time
for the story.
Thank you so much. You're sharing for sharing.
Another question.
Yeah. Yes, sir. Abdullah.
Could you please go over, like, the how's
the way you can protect yourself from shit
time? Because I was, a little late.
Abdullah, I recorded it. Can you watch it
later? Is that okay?
Okay.
I'll I'll go through them, like, at the
end.
Okay. Thank you. Let me do this for
you first, Havdulah, because I love you Masha'Allah.
You're such a good student, man.
So let me do this for you, bro.
Number 1,
to seek refuge in Allah.
Everyone else get your popcorn ready.
Number 2,
to recite the last two chapters of the
Quran.
Are you with me?
Yes.
Okay.
The 3rd,
read.
The 4th, read or
listen to it if you can't read it
or both. You can read a little, listen
to a little.
The 5th, read the last two verses of
* Baqarah.
The 6th, read the verses of Quran that
seek refuge in Allah from Shaitan.
The 7th is to remember Allah.
And the 8th is to make wudu. And
then we talked about the 7 strategies that
Shaytan has to take you out. Hope everybody
got their cookie buddy butter ready.
Make you a disbeliever,
fall into big sins,
minor sins, disliked issues, the permissible, the lesser
of 2 goods, and then an all out
attack. Anybody got Gulab Jamun though or Kunafa
or Bazbusa?
Just saying.
Alright.
If you know what bazbusa is, you're so
muscary.
You're so muscary.
Yeah.
Yeah. That's.
Alright.
It's time for the story.
So
I don't know if a lot of you
know
that I used to live in Egypt. I
lived in Egypt for 7 years.
I went to high school in Egypt.
I went to
Azhar
in a place called Madinah Bilbaruth,
Islamic
in Al Qahirah.
And,
yeah. Yeah.
One of the best things they have in
Egypt is.
But, anyways,
yeah.
So
I had a classmate,
his name was Abdurrahman.
Abdrahman,
before he came to Esar,
Esar is like Hogwarts,
before he came to Esar, he studied
in
a private religious college
in northern France
in northern France.
Actually, no. Southern France. Excuse me.
In the middle of nowhere.
And he told me this madrasa was in
the middle of a big forest.
Huge forest.
So he went there for a long time.
You know?
And
he told me
and if anyone knows from LA Sheikh Mustafa
Omar, he went to this school too, but
afterwards.
So he told me, you know, sometimes in
Islamic school, how people want to send the
bad kids.
They're like, yeah.
This kid is really bad. Let's send them
to Islamic school. They'll fix him
or fix her. Right?
So he said
there was
this kid
whose parents
showed
up one day and they had, like,
a really, really nice car, like they had
money.
And he said in that school, you know,
you could have stayed in your own room.
Like, they didn't they didn't have enough space.
So
this kid,
his parents has so much money, and this
is not right, by the way.
They got him his own room.
And he said this kid was kind of
strange,
Like, he was a little bit off.
And he would stay in his room sometimes
for, like, 1 or 2 days, and he
wouldn't come to class.
But, you know,
unfortunately, this is wrong.
Whoever in back in those days was in
charge,
they they wouldn't, like, discipline this kid.
So he would, like, stay in his room
and, like, he would be listening to, like,
music and, like, they didn't know what was
going on with this dude. And anyone knows
what goths are, like, those people that wear,
like, black eyeliners and stuff like this, and
they were, like, white powder on their face.
Right? They look like
a jinn that got excreted by a donkey
after they ate, you know, some something food
poisoning.
So this dude,
he was God. So imagine you doing Quran
and this dude is gawked out
in the Quran class.
And he said, like, he used to talk
back to the teachers like he was he
was harsh.
And then they kept, like, having to discipline
him
till finally
he stayed in his room for 4 days.
He didn't leave.
So they started freaking out. Like, yo, this
dude hasn't left his room for 4 days.
And they would go and, like, listen,
you know, in his door, which is not
good, but they were worried about themselves. Okay.
And they couldn't hear anything.
After 4 days,
you know, the the the the head shake
went knocked on the dude's door. It brought
him out.
You know,
he didn't hadn't taken a bath. He was
filthy.
Like, he had urinated on himself. It was
wild. Right?
So they they thought like he has a
mental health issue, so they called his parents.
They brought in a doctor, whatever he was.
They say he's okay.
Then
after a few days,
he locked himself in the room again.
And this time, he he he put a
thing on the door where you would have
to break the door
to open it up.
The key wouldn't work.
And they say he started, like, making weird
noises. He was freaking out.
You know, he sounded like a convert who
ate Nahari for the first time, was screaming
or some achar.
So the first time I ate achar, I'll
tell you guys the story, by the way.
The first time I ate achar, I thought
a char was a fruit, and I just
put it in my mouth just
never do that. Never do that.
So
that dude
stayed in his room
with no food and nothing for 10 days.
Finally, the sheikh, he called his parents.
His parents came,
Everybody showed up,
and they
kicked down the doorman.
And there he was in his room. He
know he peed and stuff on himself and
all this nonsense.
He was going crazy,
freaking out, and he was saying,
like, in one of those, like, devil voices,
like,
hamda shaytan.
But he said, like, the voice Abdulrahman told
me the voice
wasn't a human voice, man.
He said it was like it it, like,
hurt your ears.
So they thought he was Mac MacNoon also.
So at first, I thought, dude, it's crazy.
No. It wasn't the Exorcist. He wasn't spitting
up guacamole. So
they grabbed him
and the father
of the boy, he asked my friend,
Abdulrahman,
to ride with them to Paris
because
the boy,
he was comfortable with Abdulrahman.
Abdulhamid, he's from Saeed.
He's a big Muslim. He's huge.
He was like,
I'll go with you.
So 2 brothers
you have to pay attention now because it's
a if it's about to get lit.
Two brothers,
they went with him and Abdulhamid.
Abdulhamid, 2 other guys, the kid and the
kid's dad
Drove back to Paris,
got to the house, and then he told
me this is like about a 5 or
6 hour drive.
Got to the house,
you know, they ate food and everything. You
know how you gotta go through the process.
They ate. They had tea. The whole 9
yards.
Everything was gravy.
Abdulrahman
and the 2 brothers, they went back to
the train station.
They took a train
overnight
back to the
it's a long story why there's so many
Sarahs, man. Just it's it's such a cool
story because Sarah was trying to help people.
Alhamdulillah. Allah bless her. Abdul. Hi.
So
pay attention.
It's okay. We got the real Sarah up
in this mud.
They got back at Fudger.
Okay?
Took the train,
got back to where the school is,
left the train station.
This is at night.
Remember,
they had dinner,
left,
took the train,
went back home,
got there by Fudger a little after Fudger.
And guess what, man?
The dude was in his room.
Swear to God.
He was in his room, man.
And the the father
is is blowing up the phone in the
office,
and the dude is in the room.
They grab him.
He's gone nuts so
and they ask him, like,
how did you get here?
And he said,
I ran back.
He said he ran back, man.
He say he ran,
but he was there.
Then they brought
one of the teachers
from a nearby city. He came a day
later.
He's flashed,
Man, don't make fun of that stuff. Come
and get you, man. So he they brought
the
sheikh
and the sheikh's conclusion was that he had
a gene.
They, they got rid of him. He, he
had to be removed from the school.
Abdul Ahmed,
he told
me
that after this, he used to go there
was a library on campus,
and it was,
like, quite a ways from the
from the, like, the second
second, the dormitory.
And he used to go there at night
and read.
So he said, it's what he told me.
I'm just telling you Abdurrahman
story.
That one night, he stayed really late,
and he left.
And as he was walking to the dorm,
he turned around
and he saw this huge
looking animal
running at him.
This massive animal.
He said, I don't and I let us
talk to him. I said, like,
I can't describe it.
So he started running
as fast as he could, and he said,
I was saying, you Allah, you Rabbi, you
Allah, you Rabbi, who's making, you know, like,
a car. I was running. He He say
he dropped his books,
and he kept running and running and running
and running.
And then he was like, is the door
locked to the dorm?
Because, like, he's like, between me and this
thing is if this door is locked,
I'm done. Everybody's sleeping, man. Their principal's knocked
out, bro.
So he's running, running, running, running.
He got there, and he made it. Luckily,
the door was open, and he shut the
door.
Then he ran into
the RA, the r you know, like, the
person who the RA, the person who takes
care of the dorms,
and Abdulrahman was sweating.
His was like, you know, everything.
And then the man asked him
what happened.
And he said, I was in the library
and then I saw this really strange animal
running at me.
And then that man said,
was the animal like this? And he described
the animal and I forgot.
Was the animal like this, this, this, this?
I
read you crazy.
And he said, yes.
And he said, that animal,
that kid told me bit him
before that kid went crazy.
So
Masha'Allah,
hope you sleep well tonight.
Enjoy,
you know, after dinner,
you go in the room,
turn off the lights,
you making your dua.
I'm sure all of you, Insha'Allah,
will
remember
that
these are the ways you can protect yourself
from
Shaitan
Inshallah. Those 8 ways we talked about. I'm
gonna see you guys on Wednesday.
What did they say he had?
Said it was a jinn.
Said it was a shaytam.
It shape shifted into this animal.
