gonna start here in a second.
I'm gonna add Hashem. I'm gonna add you
as cohost again so you can let people
in if you don't mind, brother.
Much appreciated.
Yes, sir. There you go.
So I'm gonna make sure that happens.
We have some cool stuff to talk about
today.
Yeah. We start at 2:15. I just came
early because people were texting me and asking
me what's going on. So we're gonna start
at 2:15. I'll be right back. If you
guys wanna do a quick group check-in,
you can unmute yourself, do a quick body
mind check-in. Let's see how you're doing, body,
mind, and heart. I sure back
at 2:15. Yes, sir? What time is it
for
you? Right now, I'm 210.
Oh, that's why I was confused.
Start at 215.
I am still muted in classroom.
Hello?
Have patience.
And
to everybody.
I hope everybody's doing awesome. What's going on
with the
best class we have at Swiss?
This class holds it down.
You know, I have to tell people,
best class is,
13 to 16.
They just be slaying,
I hope everybody's Jum'ah is going well. Oh,
my gosh. I look like, I have an
11 month old daughter,
which I do.
I hope everybody's doing great. I hope your
families are well and safe and sound,
and,
you know, I hope that you
are, you know, everything's going great for each
and every one of you.
Before we start today's subject,
Masha'Allah,
I want to ask a question,
and that is
a a question that
I think is very important.
That is,
what do you guys know about
jinn and shaitan?
So, this is what I what what I've
been told about Jin. I know that,
they live in a
I think this is this is what I've
been told. I'm not sure. They live in
a sort of, like, parallel dimension with us
on this earth.
They also have a free will, and they're
made of smokeless fire.
They
are sub they are sub,
subjected to the day of judgment. They have
they are, what's it called?
I forgot it. I Yeah. They're
responsible.
And some are Muslims and some are non
Muslims.
Nice. Nice. Who else?
That was awesome, Haneen. Thank you for sharing,
Haneen.
Who else wants to chime in? What do
you know or what have do you think
about
Shaytan
and Jin? What did I miss?
The question is,
what do you know
about Shaitan and Jin? Because that's the discussion
today. I know.
Go ahead. You know what?
I know that some jinns,
don't believe in a lot, and some are
Muslim, and some are not.
Nice. Nice. And some try to push you
away from a lot, and some try to
push you. Now I don't think if some
try to push you to a lot, do
they? In some ways.
Who else? Let's let's try to say something
that maybe hasn't already been said. But that's
great. Thank you.
You can raise your hand, and I'll call
on you guys. Yes, Ali.
Yeah.
So something about, what the gin are made
of. It's not only that they're made of
fire, it's, 100%
fire or a complete fire, meaning that,
like, a 100% fire on earth would be
that they leave no ashes.
But campfires and normal fires that we usually
see, they leave remnants.
But a 100% fire burns everything that it,
that it touches or is.
See, I got Ali dropping dropping some gems.
Man. Thank you, bro.
Isn't it that they're gonna have their own
day of judgment
as well?
Okay. We're gonna talk about that. Good question.
Good.
Let's hear from Hamza Wahid.
They're faster than us, they're stronger than us,
and they're invisible to the human eye.
Mhmm. We'll talk about that. That's a good
question. Are they are they really stronger than
us? That's a good question. Are they are
they stronger than human beings?
We'll talk about that today. Nice.
Ayoub
Ali.
Oh, going back to what Ali said, I
they're made from, like, smoke and fire. Correct?
Yes.
And, also, because they're made of fire, they
can go into, like,
different animals and human beings because they're not,
like, physical matter.
Amazing. Amazing. Thank you.
Hadosha.
How are you, man? I'm good. Thank you.
How are you?
I just,
when, about what Hamza said, he said that
they're stronger than us. Yeah. They're physically stronger
than us, but we they have, like, they
have the intellect of a child compared to
us. That's what I've heard.
Where's Abdullah? Is Abdullah here?
Yes.
Alhamdulillah.
Sorry, man. I will respond to your email.
I promise.
And I will post your guys' quiz today,
by the end of the day, and you
should have it back to me
by Monday.
And I realized the homework wasn't there, so
we'll we'll let you hold off on the
homework until after your quiz, Inshallah, and I'll
post it. Alright?
Basel.
Basel, I see you with your hand up.
Oh, Basil dipped out.
Let's hear from Hassan Soleiman.
I know I know that jinns can take
many forms,
and I also know that Shaitan
was the highest of the jinns,
and and a lot of them like an
angel.
Nice. So for those of you who just
came, we're asking
people to share with us what they know
about Shaitan and Jin's because that's what we're
gonna talk about today. And then on Monday,
we're gonna talk about magic and then. Everybody
knows what is
when, you know, somebody thinks
that the Shaitan has rented out their
soul, you know, without paying any rent.
What do you do
to get rid of a that may be
inside you with someone you love?
So we're gonna talk about on Sunday on
Monday, excuse me,
and then sehar,
magic.
Inshallah,
try to frame those things in a more
balanced perspective because we see people between, like,
paranormal activity
and complete denial. Like, we wanna be in
the middle.
So,
I've heard that Jin, they like,
after, like, mugwhip time, once it gets dark,
they, like, come out.
Yeah. There's a hadith that says it's better
not to go outside around that time with
your young children. It's an authentic hadith
because the shayateen are out after Maghrib.
Nice.
Amir Mohammed.
Think they have their own prophets. Right?
Because Mohammad
was the only prophet sent to all mankind,
including the jinn,
But he was the only one. Yeah. So
there's this belief that djinns had their own
ambia. Yes. Carter Chavez.
Carter Chavez, you got your hand up, bro.
I think I forgot my question. Sorry. I'll
remember it later.
Alright.
Let's let's let's hear from you.
Alright.
Alright. Earlier is that, jinn,
Allah gives them the option to choose. So
they can travel,
they can,
have children, they can married.
And
so yeah. And and the good thing is
that Duvos are are gonna change in Ramadan.
Everybody give a clap for Isra. She's holding
it down. Dang. Isra just brought the heat.
She's like, pow pow pow pow pow pow.
Is it? It's not in, like, 6 days
or 7 days.
Hold on. Hold on. I didn't call on
you, bro. I know you're excited.
Javeria.
Saeed.
I was just stretching.
You're just
you're just stretching.
Wow. Subhanallah.
Subhanallah. Just stretching. So make everybody make everyone
give a clap for Isla
and for Javeria who's, like, virtually stretching.
When you,
to
when you when you, like,
when you, like,
like, have the temptation to do something, like,
bad that, like, Shaitan would tell you to
do
Mhmm.
There's you should you could, like, say,
there's, like, distinct to say I forgot,
make them go away
Nice. With the temptation.
Amazing. We're gonna talk about that today, bro.
Yeah. That's one thing you can say.
We'll take a few more, then we're gonna
jump into our class.
Let's get to Yacine.
Brother Yacine, I see your hand up.
So,
I know that they,
like,
they can take any shape and, like, someone
had said before, they have
so, like, if you go into their boundaries
or something, I've heard that if you sleep
where
they are, then they can, like, curse you
or something. I've heard
that. Mhmm. I also have a question.
Right.
Does the seitan that follows you are the
only seitan that can misguide you? If so,
then why does
it help to block the shayateen that away
in Ramadan?
Yeah. No. It's not only that shayateen.
And remember I said that Shaitan last class
it didn't record, by the way. I'm gonna
have to post up the other class for
the 16 to 8 year olds. We cover
the same material. I'll post it up for
you guys today, Insha Allah, as well.
But we said that that shaytan never leaves
you. We'll talk about that today. We'll take
one more from Basel because he had his
hand up, and then he had to break
out. Now he's back. Basel.
Right, Khadija Hamdani always brings it. MashaAllah, let's
hear it from,
Khadija Hamdani please. Wa Alaikum Salam Rahmatullah.
I've heard that
not all jinns
are bad, that some of them are good
and worship Allah. Yeah.
So to Jin, right, mentions that
they're good believers
and there's
disbelieving Jin,
Man, these were awesome.
I think I'm gonna take 2 more just
because they're so good.
Let's go with,
Abraham.
Got your hand up.
So I've heard that Jin cannot harm you
in any way
and, that if they do touch you, they,
like, get harmed themselves.
Interesting, man. We'll talk about that.
Thank you for sharing, bro. Selma
Yaseem.
I heard that djinn, they possess abilities beyond
human capabilities.
Like, they can travel very fast, and they
can, like, go through solid objects and things
like that.
Amazing.
Alright. These are great suggestions. These are all
really, really great suggestions,
and I'm so thankful that you guys shared.
Now,
let's
talk about something before we jump in the
class. In the text that you're about to
see you don't have yet. I'm gonna share
it
with you later because I want you to
be able to, like, kinda listen right now.
It's something that I wrote about the gin
long time ago. I don't know if anyone
here is from Virginia,
but I did an explanation of social gin
at Adam Center years ago when I used
to live in Washington DC.
And
one thing I've noticed is that people are
scared of gin.
You know, in general, people,
are are
are,
like, freaked out by jinn.
But Allah
says
Allah said, this is only shaitan and his
supporters, and they want to try to make
you scared of them,
but don't be scared of them.
Be scared of me. Like fear me, don't
fear them.
So what we're gonna talk about today Insha'Allah
is a background,
a brief summary on jinn
and Shailtin.
We're going to talk about how jinn and
shayote what they are, what they're made of,
their hierarchy,
what they could do.
We're gonna talk about 7 strategies,
really 8,
that Shaytan uses to try to deceive us.
And then we're gonna talk about 8 to
9 things we can do to protect ourselves
from Shaytan. So that's what we're gonna talk
about today.
On Monday, we're gonna talk about.
Some of you maybe have heard there's a
lot of weird stuff out there. People charge
a lot of money, you know, to take
gin out of people. Like, is that is
that really necessary? And then we're gonna talk
about Sehr,
magic inshallah.
And I'm gonna add this to the book
that you are studying with me now, but
I'll put put that up later today. I'll
put the link right after this class. I'll
put that link
in your,
in your classroom folder.
Along with later this evening, your take home
quiz.
So let's get it started.
If you have a question, you can raise
your hand and I'll get to you.
Insha'Allah.
So
last time we we we stopped, we were
talking about Al Malaika,
and we talked about Allah,
what we believe about Allah and his messengers,
and we talked about Al Malaika,
what we believe about Al Malaika.
Then we had some questions about Malaika which
I'll give to you guys next week, InshaAllah.
And some of these will be in your
quiz, so I don't want it to be
redundant.
And now we're moving on to the 6th
section of the book, which is belief in
the unseen.
Belief in the unseen.
There are a few words for the unseen
used in theology that you want to know
about. 1 is
here.
That's one word and some aat.
Some ayet.
Some ayet.
Sorry. Some ayet.
Samayyat means things you have to hear or
abiyyat means things which are unseen.
Let me also write them here so you
can see them, Insha'Allah.
Co host.
These two words are used kind of, like,
synonymously
in books of theology.
One means
things that are unseen, not unseen to God,
unseen to us. So when we say in
the Quran,
those who believe with the unseen,
that doesn't mean it's unseen to Allah. It's
unseen to us.
Again, Allah is
That's a proof. Right? His knowledge is beyond
our knowledge. He knows what's unseen to us,
what's unknown to us. The law is opposite
to us. Good. Well, semayeat,
semayeat
are things we hear.
Things we hear. And what that means is
that these things that we're gonna talk about
now, and the angels also fall under this
as well, are things that we have to
hear from a prophet or hear from a
book like the Quran.
Samayat.
One of the the the important topics
of
Al Uybi'at,
that I wanna share with you
is what we're talking about today,
Jinn.
And if people can refrain from writing on
the screen, I really would appreciate it because
it's kinda gonna create some problems for me
while I'm teaching. Thank you so much, man.
I know you're excited.
Arjun.
So the unseen as a Muslim, you must
believe that the prophets taught the issues of
the unseen and that Allah ordered them to
to teach us. Right? The unseen is a
central part of our faith.
Allah
says in the second
chapter verse 3, after
Those who believe with the unseen.
From that are jinns. After we talk about
Malaika, we need to talk about jinns.
And jinns is a generic word
which includes
shayateen.
You wanna remember this?
Shayateen
and Iblis.
So jinn is like the genus.
Right? Like mammals,
you have different type of mammals.
Jinn, shayateen, Iblis, all of these kind of
fall under the same umbrella.
The word jinn comes from a word that
means something which is hidden from sight.
That's what we call Jannah Jannah. It's from
the same word, aljannah,
because you can't see Jannah.
Some ulama said Jannah is called Jannah, because
it's surrounded by so many incredible things that
you can't see inside it.
SubhanAllah.
So Jannah.
In in, Pakistan, there used to be a
famous group called Junoon.
Right? Junoon.
In Arabic, you have the word,
somebody that's crazy.
Now Allah protect us because
Someone is called because it's like their true
personality
is hidden from you.
The Janine is the embryo
in a woman because
we don't see it. We don't know what
it will become. So from this word,
Jan
means to be hidden.
Allah
says,
in sort,
We actually talked about this verse a lot
in this class, man.
In, in
the first few classes.
Talking about Satan Ibrahim.
Here when the night
hid the stars.
And it got so dark,
Sorry. I hid the earth.
It got so dark, like, he couldn't see
anything anymore.
Means, like, he couldn't see anything except the
stars, the moon.
Even Munir said that is why jinn are
given this name because they are not visible
to human sight. You need to remember this.
This is super important.
The reason they're called jinn is because you
can't see them. It rhymes.
The reason they're called Jin is because you
can't see them.
This is extremely important because, you know, I
know when I used to work in in
the Masjid, people will come to me like,
yo,
last night, man, I saw
Jen in my room. I was freaking out.
I don't know. You know what I mean?
And then I always ask them, what do
you have for dinner? Oh, man. I smashed
some nihadi. Yeah. If you smash, like, a
bunch of nihadi, bro, you're gonna see all
kind of gin at night.
Oh, man. I threw down on, like, this
massive barbecue. Yeah. You can start seeing gin.
What did you eat?
So
or when people watch scary movies,
you know, and actually what they saw
was,
you know, their socks hanging from their bed
or something.
So it's very important as we talk about
this that the position
of theologians
is that human beings
cannot
see
jinn.
It's in their name,
La yub Sarud.
They're not we're not able to see it.
However, that's gonna get interesting as we continue
Insha'Allah.
Imam al Baybawi
Rahimohullah
is a great scholar
of Islam. He was from an area called
Bayaba. Beibah means white. He was from an
area of mountains that people used to see
the snow.
So they called it Beibah.
Like Darul Bayibah, if we have any Moroccans
here,
but Imam al Bayl Baha'i was from Faris
from Persia.
He said, Al Jin
He said that jinns are a creation
made of fire
and made of, like, you know, they don't
have any physical substance that you can hold
on to any material substance that you and
I can see,
and that they are extremely subtle, extremely subtle
creation.
Imam Ibn Taymiyyah,
Rahim Oholahu Ta'ala,
he said jinn are named as such because
they are not visible. Remember this, it's very
important, man. Muslims,
sometimes we watch too many horror movies.
Right? We watch too many Hill House. We
watch too much
American Horror Story. We play too many Gears
of War.
We start seeing gems and stuff. You know
what I mean? No. No. No. No. No.
Remember this, I'm gonna put it in the
box for you to to to to drill
it into your head.
Gins
are not visible.
Inshallah, we'll get to the questions in a
minute. If you can just let me kinda
to to walk through this real quick. Okay?
So I'll stop every once in a while.
Thank you, Shahname and take and Ziyad, if
you can stop posting stuff like right now
just because that's a lot of writing and
most people
And also, I need you to pay attention
to what I'm teaching Habibi.
Okay? Yeah. So because when we we go
into this direction, then it creates, like, discussions
and we're not focusing. But thank you for
being there. If you wanna send me later
on after class,
all these awesome notes that you have, that's
so amazing. I'm super excited.
So Jim, Jin are not
visible.
And as I said earlier, people playing too
many games of war or eating too much
biryani or mansaf,
right,
and other things.
So we believe they are hidden. InshaAllah Khadija
we're gonna get to those questions InshaAllah.
Allah says in here even to me use
it the verse I mentioned above
Meaning, it became intensely dark.
Right? It covered him as though he was
covered by the night and he couldn't see
anything.
Here's something that you wanna think about, the
types of gin in their high arch. Look
at them. I'm gonna show you how it
works. Types of Jin and their their hierarchies.
Al Jin Wa'inda'ahlami
walisani.
So, Imam Ibn 'Abdubar, he was from Spain,
was one of the great, great, great scholars
of early Islam, Masha'Allah. He said, according to
the scholars of Theology
and language,
jinn are divided into the following hierarchy.
When should they when they mention like just
a regular jinn,
they call it jinn.
When they discuss a jinn that resides amongst
the people, it's called.
If you look in Arabic, you'll see it
here, jinn.
Okay? And if
it is a jinn, which its job is
to bother children, it's called
very profoundly, arwa.
Hu. I'm gonna I'm gonna,
try to take off the
chat here real quick.
Who can think of
in English
how do you translate?
Souls.
Souls? Or there's another word a lot of
people like to use?
Atmos.
Like ghosts. Emon. Spirits. Right?
Ghost and spirits. Spirits.
Yeah. But we don't believe they're like the
ghosts
that you see, for example, on Hill House.
We'll talk about that later. Insha'Allah.
If it is an evil jinn seeking to
harm someone is called Shaytan.
If it is more evil than that,
if it's more evil subhanallah than the shaytan,
it's called maddid.
Maddid.
Not
This is a mistake.
Mention the Quran.
Fit
in. And then if it has reached the
height of evil, it is called Ifrit. You
know, sometimes we should ifrit with
But you know, sometimes parents, they call their
kids Ifrit. It's not good. Yeah, Ifrit.
I lived in few Muslim countries. I used
to say like, yeah,
I'd hear people yell it. I was like,
woah, woah, where's the efreet? And then I
realized I was, you know, my Arabic wasn't
that strong at that time. Where I didn't
understand, you know, they called our kids Afarita,
you know, Efreet.
So one time, I'll tell you a funny
story. And I can't be Masar. I was
in Egypt walking through one market and someone
said, Efreeta.
Like, it's Efreet and I freaked out like,
oh,
then I've seen this little boy.
I said, man,
don't call him.
And the greatest jinn is Iblis.
Allah
mentions
him in the Quran,
And this goes to Abdullah's question a few
days ago
that,
is was Iblis an angel? And the strong
answer is no.
Because Allah says in the Quran,
He was a jinn.
The reason he says, though, is that if
you read in Surat Al Baqarah,
it would appear that Iblis was an angel.
So some ulama,
and this is a strong opinion, said that
Iblis,
he took on the form of an angel.
So he tricked them.
But of course, that's what Allah says in
Surat Baqarah,
I know what you hid.
Ketam
means to
show something
and try to hide this reality.
So so so Iblis la'alata'ari,
he thought if I take on the shape
of an angel,
I can trick Allah.
And that's why Allah said order the angels
to make prostration,
to expose
Iblis
to the Malaika who didn't know and to
teach Adam about his enemy.
And now if you pay attention, and I
don't wanna make this too hard on you,
this is one of the reasons of of
of tests and challenges in life is it
exposes
who's good and who's bad. Like, have you
ever had people that you thought they were
your friends?
You thought like they had your back. You
thought that they were gonna be there for
you and then a test happened and that
test
showed who they really were? Or have you
yourself
ever been like, yeah, I'm down. I'm down.
I got you. And then you failed somebody
because of some difficulty.
Basel, there's no need to like,
to do that man because I'm asking people
to respond. May Allah bless you, bro. We
don't have to tell 3 or 4 people
to be easy on the chat if they're
involved in the lesson, alhamdulillah. If they're not
involved in the lesson, Basel, then you know,
you can do that. I appreciate it.
But one of the reasons for it's okay,
bro. I I appreciate you. Thank you, man.
Much much love, bro.
Is
Allah is showing us that through this test,
Iblis who tried to act like he was
an angel was exposed.
So there we learned something that even though
the test
was like
not easy, it shows you sometimes like who's
really with you,
Who's really bad? And we talk about the
life of Prophet Muhammad because
he refused to prostrate
and the angels did.
So even though he looked like an angel,
when Allah said,
bow to Adam,
except Iblis.
So all of them did it
except Iblis. Now you can understand the verse,
you can understand its meaning,
and how that also exposed he was what?
A jinn. Because here's the question,
based on what I asked you
No. I just explained it. Right? Iblis is
a jinn.
But he took on the shape of an
angel
to try to understand
because his jealousy and hatred for Adam, what
was happening, and the Malaika, they didn't know.
So Allah
through the command to prostrate to Adam
exposed
exactly, Zayd, good
exposed
Iblis.
And the lesson we want to take for
that in our life,
exact good.
Since angels don't have free will, when Allah
commanded them to prostrate,
they did.
All of the Malaika
Iblis
except Iblis.
So here's the question,
When Iblis chose not to prostrate,
didn't that show he wasn't an angel?
And my question is why?
Because he didn't obey Allah. Yeah, exactly. Exactly.
And in Shem I explained this already, Allahu
Adam. You need the details of Tassila yalla
mohaillallah.
But what we know is that he took
on the form
of an angel And that's why we took
good job, Abdullah. When I explained last time
that
angels,
right? I'll explain it today that jinn are
shapeshifters, Masha'Allah. Excellent, Layla. Good job.
And angels can't have kibr.
Angels can't have arrogance, so Allah says, Abba
wastakbar. He disobeyed.
When someone disobeys,
here's my question. Do they have free will?
Absolutely. Right?
And when someone Kiber means arrogance,
Ali.
And when someone has pride and arrogance,
it's coming from their free will.
So now you understand hopefully the story is
hold of Baqarah. Doesn't mean that Iblis was
a an angel. It means as the scholars
mentioned, you find this in in in books
of Tafsir
that Iblis
this is a theory, I believe it's a
very good theory,
that Iblis,
if the Hawwal, he changed to look like
an angel so he could trick the angels
because he was jealous of Satan and Adam,
alayhi salaam. He wanted to know the asrar,
what's going on with this creation.
And then Allah exposed him to the Malaika,
and to us, and to Adam as an
enemy, but,
take him as an enemy,
when he ordered them to make sujood.
There's actually a really beautiful story that in
the time of Sayyidina Nuh,
I'll talk about this in the stories of
the prophets, Iblis, he came to sayyidina
Anurh alaihis salaam.
And he said, I'm ready to repent and,
like, be good.
And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala dispatched an angel
that said to say, Nanu,
tell
Iblis to go to the grave of Adam
and make the prostration,
and I will forgive him.
And Iblis, he said no.
So this this verse
doesn't mean that Iblis was an angel, A
strong opinion is he tried to look like
an angel and Allah says
Now you can understand what Allah said to
the angels, I know what you don't know.
I know what you show
and I know what you hide.
And although he was speaking to all of
them,
specifically Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala was speaking to
Iblis.
And then Allah ordered them to make sujood
to Adam,
out of respect,
and they all did
accept the jinn. So the jinn
no. No. No. It's not true. This is
like a Christian story, Farid.
The jinn, he was exposed.
Iblis was exposed.
So let's quickly, and I love these questions
and answers and Basel again, if you see
someone out of pocket, you check them bro.
But when people are engaged in Masha'Allah,
no Khadija, the jinn the jinn didn't bow
down, Iblis didn't bow down. That's how he
was exposed.
It was only Iblis that was there from
the jinn, the malaika and Iblis,
and he refused to bow.
And that's how he was exposed by Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
He was the only jinn there. That's what
I said.
The only jinn there was Iblis.
So according to the good questions, so according
to scholars of theology of language,
let's let's look at this quickly.
Jin are divided into the following hierarchy.
When we mentioned the word Jin, it just
means like a normal Jin, and this is
in books of theology.
We'll get to all that inshallah.
When
we talk about a jinn that
is
residing amongst its people,
it's called a Ame.
If it's a jinn that bothers children called
Arwa.
If it is an evil jinn who seeks
to harm you, it's called Shaytan.
If it's even more evil than a Shaytan,
it's called Marit, and it has reached the
height of level of pain, it's called Efreet.
Efreet.
And the head of the jinn is called
Iblis
Iblis.
Let's talk now about some useful information about
jinn. I have
to.
Mohammed Balha, I really need you to stop
unmuting yourself, man. Please, bro.
It's like ain't nobody trying to hear what
you're eating for lunch, man. We
know you got some nice
samosas, man. You're throwing down on some, you
know, some halal tacos, but, like, you know,
but you're trying to hear you chomping, man,
in the chat room.
Right? Useful information about Jim. Number 1, Jim
exist.
This is known from the large number of
verses.
Yeah. If he does if he keeps unmuting
himself, he's shamed. You're gonna have to, you
know, ask him to go outside in the
parking lot.
I appreciate everybody else who who who abides
by the rules.
Jin exist. This is known from the large
number of verses and hadith that mentioned their
existence. Jin's are considered from unseen, alwaybiyet,
or what scholars of theology termed, assamayet,
meaning those things that we could only know
through revelation.
Thus according to scholars whoever denies their existence
is not Muslim, like it's it's a foundational
belief
to believe in Jinn.
Alright. Everybody
take a step back.
If you have any questions, I can take
them because
we don't wanna ask too many questions.
I can take like 2 or 3
because from now on you need to put
your seat belts on and if you get
easily scared,
you know, prepare yourself.
That's a theory, but it's not the strongest
theory. Right?
He tried and maybe what your sheikh is
referring to is how I talked about how
he took on the form of an angel
to try to trick trick the angel that
he wasn't raised.
Angels aren't raised. Right? Angels don't live like
us.
Angels
are for one specific issue. Yes, sir.
And if I don't answer your question, it's
because it's gonna come later in the lesson.
So if I say like, don't worry about
it, we'll get to it.
Yes, sir.
I can take 3 questions.
I have
Hello?
Inshallah, we're gonna talk about that. Next question.
That's coming up, bro. Put on your seat
belt, ma'am. Assalamu alaikum.
Is it true that Allah raised the beast?
Absolutely not.
So no. No. Not, like, raise him as,
like, a kid. I mean, like, raise him
up, like, higher than the other gens.
As I mentioned in number 2 right there,
the head of the gens is Iblis.
No. Before that, was he like a good
gin?
No. No. This is like these are Christian
kind of
Judeo Christian kind of stories.
Oh.
Yeah. No. Iblis was always bad. It wasn't
like good. It's not the fallen angel story.
Right?
Is there a verse from the Quran or
or Hadith or something that proves that he
was that he took on the form of
an angel to see what was going on?
It's understood from the verses themselves when Allah
says, I know what you're hiding because angels
don't hide anything.
So who is he talking to? Who amongst
the angels was trying to hide something?
See that?
Yeah. So the verses themselves support that. Yes,
sir.
Can I ask a question?
Yes, sir. This is the last question we'll
take, inshallah. We gotta get through. Sleep.
Are there are there gins and stuff in
the bathroom?
We'll talk about that today
Nice. No. Amir, that's considered,
Efreet, and some some scholars say that that
Efreet, and we'll talk about it later, actually
became
Muslim. So he was bad. He was a
form of Efreet Baden Aslan.
Very good question.
Nice. Let's get going because a lot of
your questions are here and we have about
15 minutes. So we may have to continue
this on Monday,
as well inshallah.
Let's talk about some useful information about jinn.
Number 1, they have the ability to take
on different forms.
Imam Badruddin As Salabi is a great scholar,
he was Masri, Masha'Allah, he lived quite a
long time ago. He said, Jin have the
ability to transform, listen to this,
and take different shapes.
Be they men,
riding animals,
wild animals,
scorpions, camels, cows, goats, horses, ponies,
donkeys or birds.
In addition, they can take on human form
like the time one appeared in Suraq as
Suraq ibn Malik. This is found in Surat
Anfah
at the Battle of Badr.
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says,
You know, he said,
Ali Musa, can you please keep your video
turned off? Thank you, bro. And remember when
Satan made their deeds pleasing to them and
said, no one can overcome you from amongst
the people. Indeed, I'm your protector. So he
came to the Quraysh and he tried to
encourage them to fight against the Muslimen
and he came in the form and this
is found on authentic hadith of someone named
Suraka,
even nomadic.
So it's an evidence that Iblis can come
in the form of a person.
But when the 2 armies sat at each
other, he turned on his heels and said,
in me, you know, I this inebri o
mink, I I have I have nothing to
do with you. So he encouraged him to
go out there and then subhanAllah they were
defeated.
And also like the time of Jina appeared
in the form of an old Najdi man
when the Quraysh gathered to kill
to decide what to do with the Prophet
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam. We're gonna talk about this
inshallah, we get to the life of Sayyid
Nur Rasool Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
When they came together to decide what to
do with him, there was an old man
who none of them knew, he was older
and he said you should kill him.
How do you say that that was Iblis
Shaytan?
Are Jin's angels?
That's kind of the question some of you
ask.
This Arabic font is really messed up.
Hello?
Yeah. Sorry. Can't take questions right now. So
sorry. Trying to get finished today.
And again,
if you guys can do me a favor
just for today, raise your hand and wait
for me. I'll get to you inshallah because
we have a lot of stuff to cover.
Our jinn angels absolutely not. God created jinns
from fire. He created angels from light. Jin
eat and drink. Angels do not as we
mentioned last time. And Jin have free will
as Amira mentioned early on
and angels
don't.
Here's the question a lot of you ask,
can Jins possess people?
Imam Abu Hasan al Ashari, one of the
great scholars of Islam, he said, scholars
held 2 opinions
about JIN possession.
This Arabic, I don't know what happened. Sometimes,
Google Docs doesn't like.
Scholars held 2 opinions
about
jinn
possession.
Some said it is impossible.
Hashem, if you can just remove that person,
man. Thank you. Scholars held 2 opinions about
jinn possession.
Some said it's impossible,
others said it is based on a hadith
of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam. Actually,
there are about 10 hadith
that show people can be possessed by jinn.
For example, the Hadith of Uthmar ibn Aas
RadiAllahu Anhu, who came to the Prophet Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam and people said he had been
possessed by jinn, and the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam,
he investigated and he said,
after, like, making dua, he said,
and the jinn left him.
Uthman. This is not Uthman of Nafan. This
is another Uthman. I'm gonna write it here
for you.
Yeah. I do.
This opinion also is further strengthened by the
narration of even our best once a woman
brought her child to the
prophet
and in this hadith, the prophet
he did rakya on this child and also
he said
that, you know, ohruja aduwala. So he made
dua for that child and then he ordered
the shaitan to, exit and he exited him.
When he was rubbing his chest in this
boy, he began to vomit,
On Monday,
I'm gonna tell you a jinn story I
experienced.
But if you don't want to hear it,
you can let me know. It's a little
freaky.
But if you wanna know, we can take
a vote. We'll take a vote on Monday.
It's okay, like, if you don't want to
hear it because I understand sometimes that stuff
is scary.
But InshaAllah, on Monday,
I'll share with you. So I'm going to
ask you now in the chat. You guys
wanna hear the Jen story or not on
Monday? And if you don't wanna hear it,
you can send me an email and say,
listen, man.
I ain't about that life. Oh, alright. Well,
okay.
Well,
it's a very interesting jinn story.
SubhanAllah.
How do jinns enter our bodies?
I can't tell it to take us very
long. How do they enter our bodies? And
it needs a back I'm going to find
like a jinn background
for this one. You know what I mean?
Okay. Masha'Allah, Masha'Allah, I got you.
Imam Abu Hasan al Ashari, he said that
because jinns are made of a light consistency,
it is plausible that they could enter through
the mouth of a person just like water
enters the mouth or food enters the stomach,
And their consistency is more so food and
water, their consistency is more dense
than gins.
However, they do not possess people. The only
way they can enter is by entering a
person
just like other organisms exist. So
what he meant is they do not is
food and water do not.
Right? Food and water do not.
They could also enter through your ear.
And again, these are theories like nobody
truly knows. Right? Can't see it, but it's
a guess. Can we see a gin? And
this is why we're gonna stop today because
of time.
This is a controversial
issue amongst scholars
of Islamic belief.
The majority agree
that we cannot see jinn in their true
form. Remember that just like we said about
Malaika
that we cannot
see them in their true form, but we
could see a Malaika Angel if it shape
shifts right into a human form.
When we say that it's impossible to see
a jinn, that means in their true form.
Imam al Shafi'i,
he
said,
Whoever claims to see a jinn like we
discount their competency.
There's evidence for this in the Quran.
If you go to the Quran
verse 7
27.
I'm gonna put it in your chat also.
The verse says, he sees you, a a
shaitan sees you,
he and his group
from where you can see them.
So Allah says,
you're not able to see them.
Most scholars agree, however, that the jinn can
be seen in different forms.
Like the time one came to
and other authentic hadith like the one we
mentioned about Surakah, if nomadic.
However,
just like we said about angels, it's impossible
for me or you to affirm whether we
saw a jinn or not because the true
reality of that is only known to Allah,
and would only be known to a messenger
of Allah.
InshaAllah
on Monday,
we're going to pick this discussion up and
talk about 11 ways to protect yourself from
jinn.
And also I'm gonna share with you
the Jin story.
And then on Wednesday, InshaAllah,
we will
go over the quiz quickly,
that I'm gonna give you later this evening,
and
start to talk about
Rokia,
which is the process of removing a djinn
from somebody,
And Seher,
magic. Alright?
Do
you guys have any questions?
I have a question. For a few minutes.
Yes, sir.
So what do gins eat?
Gins eat their own food.
We don't know. There's no clear
some people say they eat, like, feces and
urine, but this is there's no hadith that
that talks about it. So the best is
to say.
K. Thank you. What
would cause a jinn to enter your body?
We're gonna talk about that Inshallah on Monday.
I have a question.
Yes,
sir. So just to clarify, they can,
like, shape shift into, like, anything?
Basically.
Yeah. Abacus. That's kinda that's kinda freaky because,
like,
they could just be your.
Could be like your boy playing ball with
you, man.
True.
That's true. I have a question. Could be
you could be playing you could be playing
Call of Duty with a djinn. You know
what I mean? No. No. So
yeah.
I'll question.
Okay. Ask your question.
Can become your food?
No. No. They can't become your food. Okay.
Do they kidnap you? No. Gens can't kidnap
you.
Okay. Thank you. You're playing Gears of War
with some gens.
I have a question. So the question
the,
the angel asked,
in the story,
that was was it Iblis
asking or he was
whispering
to the jinn?
No. No. That was all of the Malaika
asked that. But again, we need as we
explained to the students last last time,
like not istikhbar, they're not testing God. That's
that's not the meaning of
If I say, antaswahib,
it means like, wow, you're sohayib.
So, attajarufiha,
the form of the question is they were
amazed.
Not like they're and this is sometimes where
we lose something in Balara,
rhetoric.
The meaning here isn't to test God, The
meaning is like sup that's why it says
Yeah. But he was with them, and that's
why the plural form is used.
That's a good question from a parent. I
have a question.
What's the difference between
a good jinn and a bad jinn?
A good jinn is someone who who is
like Muslim. They believe in Allah, and they
worship Allah in a way Allah has commanded
them, and they don't cause harm.
A Bad Jin disbelieves in Allah,
doesn't worship Allah, and spreads evil.
I have a question.
And Allah yes, sir?
So when Ginn died, are they gonna yeah.
Is Allah gonna judge him like, say, Allah
judge human Yeah. It's mentioned in
That jinns and human beings are gonna be
questioned and resurrected.
Yeah.
I have a question.
Yes, sir.
Would jinns have, like, a separate day of
judgment? Or not a day of judgment. I
mean, like, Jannah and Jahannam?
No. No. The strong belief.
The verse says that we're gonna fill *
with jinn and human beings.
And also
while I was asking a question, I heard
that wolves and fox can eat and kill
jinn. Is this true? Nah, man.
Unfortunately, no. That's not true.
Yes. Did the Muslim jinn help him better?
Yes.
There's a strong opinion that the Muslim jinn
and even the malaika,
assisted in Badam. Masha'Allah. We'll take, like, one
more question. You guys asked a great question
today, but we have to go because I
have another class,
alhamdulillah,
coming.
But we have a few minutes left before
we reached an hour.
I was just wondering that, you were talking
about how, like, watching scary movies and, like,
eating heavy foods, like, get kinda gets you,
like, paranoid or in some sort. So is
it, like, advised not to watch scary movies?
No. I was just joking. I was just
joking.
Okay. Yeah. I have a question.
I don't think there's any correlation between,
chapati's and gin or
eating like barbecue and gin. I just like
to mess with people.
Yes,
sir. So my question was so,
like, you know how, like
because, like,
people say that, like, dogs, they can, like,
sense,
but, like, would that be true? There's a
hadith that says the dogs can see the
gym.
Right. But it doesn't mean every time a
dog barks, you gotta freak out. Oh, my
guy's dog barking.
Yeah.
But also we're gonna talk about on Monday,
jinns are weak. They're not stronger than human
beings,
especially those who make zikr.
Yeah. Inshallah, we're gonna have a night of
Fortnite with myself and imam Mark Manley.
Maybe on this Monday evening, we will share
with you
our Fortnite names.
Alright, brother. We can handle some bit we
can go blast on some gins, man. Yes,
sir. Abdullahi.
So does as I say,
hold on. How does how do they look
like? Gins, like, do they look scary, or
how do they look like they do for
me? Love Adam.
Oh, okay.
I heard that you're supposed to stay away
from cats especially at night because they have
a like, there's a higher chance of them
being gin at night. Is that true? No.
Sayed Muhammad used to sleep with the cats
sometimes.
And he said,
He said the cats cats are not filthy
and, you know, cats, like, they live amongst
you.
Can newborn babies
see jinn? Is that possible?
Hey. Where are you calling from, man?
London, UK.
Yeah.
Manchester United or Liverpool, bro? No.
Liverpool. Arsenal.
That's gonna be Liverpool.
Arsenal. Arsenal.
No. No. Because you are Arsenal and Manchester
United. I'm not answering your question,
I'll follow-up. Norwich. Norwich.
What what is your question again, mister Lent?
Mister,
can newborn babies see gin?
No. No. No. No human being can see
gin.
No. That's so that's so bad too. Babies
cry. Imagine when babies crying, people say, oh,
the baby see a gin. No. The baby
needs to change his diaper.
And also jinn, they don't eat the baby's
diaper. People ask that too. I should write
a book, Craziest Stories I've Heard About Gins.
Alright everybody, it's been a pleasure. We've come
up to an hour.
This is Shaa Allah
Monday, Scary Jin Story Part 1, along with
11 ways you can protect yourself
from Jin. I'm going to be putting your
quiz questions.
Speaking of Jin, those quiz questions are gonna
be so hard it's gonna scare the Jin
out of your house.
I'm just joking. It won't be that hard.
I'll put those questions up later today. Hope
you guys are well. I will put this
recording as well
up for you. I really hope you're doing
awesome. And I love how you guys, Basel,
Amira,
you know, Manchester United fans straight from London.
All of you involved. Abdullah. May Allah bless
you.
And Monday,
I will share the Twitch information.
So before Ramadan,
you can go, you know, shoot some pink
bunnies and steal some helicopters in Fortnite.
Muhammad
