We praise Allah.
We send peace and blessings upon
our beloved Messenger Muhammad Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam upon his companions, his family, and
those who follow them until the end of
time.
To our brothers and sisters.
Welcome back to our explanation of the bookrahatu
alarwa, which is a poem
about the good prophet
and the miracles of the prophet
And last
time we talked about his miracles. And now
we're moving on to his character.
And before we start to talk about his
character,
we know that character is divided into different
components.
And the prophet peace be upon him, he
is the best
in all components of character,
but specifically with Allah
That's why Allah
says about him peace be upon him,
that indeed, oh, Muhammad, peace be upon him,
you are on the highest level of character.
And we know that the prophet, peace be
upon him, he said,
indeed, I was only sent to reform and
complete
good character.
So the first is his character with Allah.
How he interacts with Allah. What we call
his interactions with God, his creator,
are the best.
And that's why when Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
talks about the prophet, peace be upon him,
he recognizes him as our example.
As Allah says in the 33rd chapter of
the Quran verse 21,
Indeed in the messenger of Allah, you have
the best example to follow.
And Allah who
commands us to
obey the commands of the prophet
and to distance ourselves away from his prohibitions
when he says,
whatever the prophet has brought to you, take
it.
And what the prophet has prohibited for you,
you must avoid it. So the first is
the character
of the prophet with Allah, how he engages
his worship.
And that's why often in the Quran,
Allah
describes the prophet as what Abba did,
the ultimate servant,
the greatest to worship
Allah. But that being no contradiction
in his incredible character with Allah
and his his incredible character with others.
For example, say to Aisha, the wife of
the prophet peace be upon him, when people
ask her, how was the prophet in his
home?
She said,
which means he used to serve us.
And she would talk about his prayers at
night
and how the prophet, peace be upon him,
at home, his worship was even more intense
than in public.
To the point that one time she said
to him, like, Allah has forgiven you.
Why are you, like, so hard on yourself?
And he said, not be thankful,
devoted to Allah. So first is his character
with Allah. 2nd is his character with his
family,
peace be upon him. As he said, one
time, even his wife, she was riding on
a bumpy in Sahibuhari, like a bumpy path.
So he said,
like, take it easy. Be easy with the
crystal. He compared his wife, Sayida Aisha, to
crystal.
And
he
to show his empathy, his mercy,
and his care.
With his own daughter, Zaynab,
when her son was very ill, the prophet,
peace be upon him, visited her,
and he cried when he saw her ill
son, and he made dua for her ill
son. So when you talk about the great
character of the prophet religiously,
there's no contradiction between that and his family.
The third is the character of the prophet,
peace be upon
him, with those community members,
whether they were successful or whether they were
struggling,
whether they were rich, whether they were poor,
whether they were Arab or not Arab. Or
the prophet he
is
as the Hadith of.
He said that we begin to argue which
one of us does the prophet love the
most because they were generally confused
because there is no stratification between how the
prophet treats people. He treats all people the
same
in his community.
And so he said, I went to the
prophet, prophet, and I said, Ayunes, I have
who do you love the most?
And the prophet said, Aisha.
Say to Aisha. And he said,
from the
her father, peace be upon him. So the
prophet
were talking now about his good character
with Allah, but then it's not enough to
be a religious person,
but also with his family,
with his community.
And then with non Muslims.
So for example, the Jewish neighbor of the
prophet in Sahih Bukhari,
when his son was ill, the prophet went
to his home.
In the sunam at Nasai, when the Jewish
funeral
passed by the prophet,
he stood up and the Sahaba said, you
stand stand it up for a Jewish funeral.
He said, it's a soul.
So the prophet
even with others, the Bedouin Arabs who used
to live around him, he would be so
generous to them that some of them would
go back to their people and say, like,
there's no one more generous and
kind than the prophet.
So the point here, when we talk about
and neawi,
the the the.
We're talking about comprehensive
character.
There's no dichotomy between
the masjid and the home,
the masjid and the streets,
the masjid and the school.
Subhanallah, I remember there was years ago, a
brother, he he his father would drop him
off at at the school, and he would
be dressed a certain way. And then brother,
he will go change his clothes after his
father drops him off, and he dressed completely
different,
like, in ways that are unbecoming of a
Muslim man.
That kind of dichotomy,
the prophet doesn't have it. So
now after talking about numerous miracles
of the prophet,
we're gonna talk about his character. And one
of the best examples of his character is
what we should be doing on these 10
nights.
As the prophet said, whoever stands in praise
in these nights will be forgiven.
Whoever stands in these nights with fear and
with hope and faith will be forgiven.
And one of the beautiful dua that we
learned from the heart of the prophet, sallallahu
alaihi wasallam, that we should all learn.
And if somebody can write the transliteration in
the comments, it's gonna be really helpful to
people.
Is the dua that when say to Ayesha
ask him, like, what should we be seeing
on these nights?
What should we be seeing in these last
nights of Ramadan? And the prophet said,
Allah. The word
Allah,
it doesn't just mean oh Allah.
Oftentimes in the Arabic language, we have a
letter mem, and the letter mem,
it is used to show plurality.
I'll give you an example of what I
mean. If you speak Arabic, it's very easy.
Cat is singular.
Is plural.
Is
singular.
Is plural.
Is singular.
With
is plural. So you can see here a
pattern that the letter mem in ancient Arabic,
it carries with it the meaning of plurality.
So when
Muhammad says,
we understand there's plurality here.
So it means more than Yeah Allah.
When you say Allah,
when you raise your hands,
you beg
Allah. You say, Allah,
you're calling on Allah by all his names
and attributes that you know.
All of the names and attributes that Allah
has revealed to us. SubhanAllah.
So it's not just you Allah, it's Allah.
In
is used when someone
doubts. So, like,
if, say, someone came to visit you
and and
your, you know, your parents or your husband
or spouse said to you, such and such
is here.
You might be like, I don't know. But
if they said, you
know,
If they said it,
this is meant to remove your doubts.
So but what it means, the word
it's oftentimes, it's context can either be to
remove doubts if you think the person doesn't
believe you
or to increase the certainty
of someone who believes.
SubhanAllah.
So now when you say Allah,
you call on Allah by all his names.
The Quran says Allah has the best names,
call him.
And sometimes when I talk to generation z,
they tell me, like, I feel far away
from Islam.
I feel like I don't really know
Islam. If you wanna know Islam,
learn the names of Allah.
Subhanallah, the names of Allah will be your
best friend.
Wherever you go in life, you'll find his
names with you.
The Quran says Allah has the most beautiful
names.
Call make dua to him by those names.
So imagine when you say all
the names of Allah.
In and you say indeed. The question is
like, you said in
it's for someone who doubts
or
is to increase someone's certainty.
Because maybe some of us, we came into
these last 10 nights, we have a lot
of mistakes.
And what I notice most people,
their mistakes aren't that bad, but their insecurities
amplify their mistakes.
Or maybe they have people around them
who
reinforce their mistakes in ways that are unhealthy.
So they become overcome by their sense of
guilt. Man, the whole month of Ramadan,
I didn't do this. I made this mistake,
you know, and that person begins to doubt.
Maybe Allah will not forgive me.
Maybe Allah will not not accept me. So
what do you say?
In the you, so that Muslim
who comes into that dua,
who pushes into that dua
and feels no hope,
that inner is meant to remind you,
don't give up.
Don't give up on Allah.
If you gave up on yourself, don't give
up on Allah.
If you fear your sins, find hope in
his mercy.
If you think he won't forgive you,
indeed you.
And
somebody
who already has that Yaqeen,
the in there is meant to strengthen you.
To strengthen the iman of the people. So
imagine,
subhanAllah, how beautiful is this dua that
the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam taught us
to
say,
Allahumma
Inaka.
Oh Allah,
without a doubt you you what?
The word
The best way to understand the meanings of
dua and the meanings of the Quran is
with the Quran.
One of my teachers used to say, Al
Quran
That's a Quran is a dictionary for someone
who doesn't have a
dictionary. People ask how to learn Arabic,
be with the Quran.
So this word
Oh Allah you are Afu.
The word Afu, we find its usage in
the Quran is Yes.
They ask you what should they spend? Say
They
should spend. You know what means?
Means extra.
The word
it's it's meaning in Arabic
is meaning it's
beyond the norm.
It's added to the norm.
So what does it mean when we say
Oh Allah, you are
We're asking Allah.
We're asking Allah for extra. What is the
extra?
Extra
rama.
Because the Afu
is the one who has the right to
punish
but forgives.
He extends
his forgiveness.
So I deserve to be punished.
I've made mistakes,
but you're a full moon.
You're the one who
pardons mistakes.
So when you push into this this dua,
you're pushing into something very powerful, man,
Something transformative.
You love
to pardon.
You love to forgive.
So he said,
the word means to add.
Yes.
So I'm asking Allah for an increase in
what?
Think about it, brothers and sisters.
Think about all the mistake we made this
month of Ramadan.
Think about all of the the shortcomings that
we fell into,
and think about how we fear the sins
waiting for us after the month of Ramadan.
So we flee to Allah.
And we ask Allah,
give me more than I deserve.
That's actually what means.
Giving me more than I
deserve. More of what? Your forgiveness.
You love
You love to do that.
You love to pardon.
You love to forgive.
So pardon us.
That the prophet
taught us to
say,
on these nights,
it's so powerful.
Allah, all
of Allah's names.
In Nakka, to reassure myself.
Don't
don't doubt it.
In Nakka, indeed you.
You are the one who gives an increase
more than I deserve in parting pardoning and
mercy
to and
you love to do it.
So forgive us.
This is from the beautiful character of the
prophet
I just want to stop for a moment
and tell you guys a lot of people
ask me, how can we help you? We
really appreciate you doing the work that you
do. What is something we can do?
Brothers and sisters.
I need you. Go to my website,
suahibweb.com.
Enroll in my school. Become a student. Come
learn with me, take take classes, build yourself.
Don't just be emotionally connected. And don't worry,
don't say to yourself,
I'm not a good Muslim. Don't listen to
those insecurities.
Go if you can to suhaibweb.com,
my name. Enroll.
We need your help to grow also.
It's only $9.99
a month.
And in the summer, we're gonna start our
full term seminary program
with, like, students that really wanna study in
a religious way.
So we ask Allah to make it easy
for us. But if you want to translate
your,
affection for me and your appreciation for me,
$9.99
a month is like 2 cups of coffee,
man. And that's cheap coffee. That's not expensive
coffee.
That takes us now to the poem that
we've been reading and we reached the section
on the character of the prophet, peace be
upon him. And we said the character of
the prophet is very important because sometimes we
run into religious people
who
are are eerily they treat us.
And especially online, man, people just be taking
off people's heads, man. Even in Ramadan, I
don't understand it. I didn't I wasn't
subhanallah, I wasn't,
I wasn't raised that way in my Islam,
you know, to be going at it like
that. I was raised to to study and
try to be good to people
so that we study the character of Sayidu
Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. So
who
has bad character,
but
is, like, religious, religious acting, you know, and
they hurt you.
They're mean or harsh.
So the sheikh, he says.
The first character he talks about is the
generosity of the prophet
We know that the prophet is the most
generous of
people. That's why said
the prophet is generous like strong wind. Meaning
his generosity blows everywhere.
It has no limits.
So the sheikh, he starts with generosity because
this is one of the most important qualities
of religious workers and teachers.
You know,
you have to be
generous to people if you wanna be an
iman,
if you wanna be a sheif,
if you wanna be a teacher,
if you wanna be Islamic studies teacher, if
you wanna teach the Quran, if you wanna
be
an influencer teaching people religion, you have to
be generous. You have to be generous with
your time,
you have to be generous with your health,
and you have to be generous with your
humility.
You know, you you have to be with
the people.
You can't allow your
religious accolades
to take you away from the people. This
is a trick of Shaitan because the people
are what made you.
And the people, your fellow Muslim brothers and
sisters, they're the ones making dua for you.
So the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam when we
talk about his generosity,
it's in the following areas.
Number 1, with Allah,
with Allah. Meaning the prophet doesn't do any
haram,
There's no selfless self selfishness in his soul.
Everything is for Allah.
For Sayyidina Muhammad salallahu alaihi wa sallam is
generous with his life, with his breath, with
his blood, with his
feet, with his time,
everything is for Allah.
Even when he sleeps, his heart doesn't sleep.
Sallallahu alaihi wasallam. He's with Allah,
so he's generous. Some of us we're not
generous, because
we do we do evil. And when we're
evil, that means we're bukhala, we're baheel.
The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam which means a
miser. The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam said the
one is miserly who when they hear my
name, they don't say
A miser to who to themselves because of
the rewards, the tremendous rewards when we hear
the prophet's name, we say
Whoever sends salawat upon me,
Allah
will send
tin. Subhanallah,
tin.
Salawat's
upon
them. So the prophet, Alaihi salatu was salam,
his generosity
first with Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
He doesn't do any evil.
Everything is for Allah. The prophet said, whoever,
when my name is pronounced in front of
them, if they don't send salawat upon me,
this person is a miser
because they kept themselves away from the rewards.
Also, the prophet said
the one who steals from his salah,
the one who steals
the the they're not generous with
themselves. How does someone steal from his or
her prayer? They don't pay attention in prayer.
Their mind is all over the place. They're
not functioning on the on the teachings of
the prayer. They're functioning on thinking about other
stuff,
not focusing on Allah
Allah not focusing on the prophet
not focusing on not focusing on not focusing
on iman.
So the first type of generosity is with
Allah
The second type of generosity, of course, is
with people that I talked about earlier,
service
means you're humble.
You have to be with the people. You
have to serve the people. You can't let
it get to your head. You can't let
your knowledge make you feel like you can
look down and mistreat the Muslims.
You have to be generous with your patience,
generous with your forgiveness,
generous with your care,
generous to the the hearts of those who
are part of the ummah
of Sayidina
Muhammad The third, of course, is generosity with
our wealth.
That what Allah has given us,
we generously spend it with others.
And then finally,
is to be generous with our knowledge.
The prophet said
whoever has asked about something and they hide
it.
Allah will bridle that person with a bridle
made
from. So the sheikh, he says
he never said no to anybody.
He knows anybody.
And for those of you on Instagram, it
looks like my
my phone was overheating. So
he said his generosity,
the generosity of the prophet,
first his generosity with his soul,
that he stays away from everything because he's
Masul,
no disobedience to Allah and his life is
for Allah. Us, are we generous with our
soul or are we miserly with ourself? Are
we generous with our hereafter
or are we miserly with our hereafter?
The prophet
said,
the one who hears my name and doesn't
say salawat upon me, that person,
is a miser.
The one who steals from his or her
prayer by not focusing on the prayer, that
person is a miser. So here we see
what I mean by generosity with
The second type of generosity is to
be generous with the people, with the community
of the prophet.
As we talked about earlier, religious worship or
religious leadership, you have to be with the
people, accessible, humble, and you have to be
patient with people. It's not an easy it's
not an easy thing. It's not an easy
thing. The third we said is to be
generous with our wealth.
And Allah says there's
nothing you spend
except Allah will give it back to you.
He's
the best of providers.
And then finally, we said to be generous
with our knowledge,
not to hide our knowledge from the people.
Again, those who go on Instagram, sorry. My
phone,
my phone overheated, man.
Too much,
too much
upon the prophet. So the phone overheated, man.
So the Sheikh is a man,
So he said, the first
good character of the prophet is that he
never says no to anybody. And if those
of you on Instagram, if it goes off,
you can go to the Swiss
Swahibur
Institute Instagram page. It's also
there as well.
May Allah bless your parents and bring peace
to your household. Yeah, Allah.
May
Allah bring so much peace and in your
household. And
the state of the prophet, meaning his internal
state. So his external state is he never
says no to anybody, unless, of course, there's
something wrong. He says no. So the first
line, it talks about the character
externally of the prophet. The second line
is his heart.
The excellence of his heart,
That when he would say
yes to somebody, they will feel it from
his soul.
So beautiful. They'll feel it from his heart.
The prophet is the cure for meaning when
he's around people, he makes them feel good.
Even when he disciplines them, they will feel
good.
And he forgives people when they make mistakes.
And whoever, like, sought the prophet's companionship, whoever
needed like, maybe somebody ask you as an
imam or a sheikh, they come into your
DMs, like, I really need help with this.
Or maybe someone contacts you at your work.
Whoever reaches out to the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam,
he'll be there for them.
So these two qualities, number 1, he's generous
in his words and in his
number 2,
if people need him, he's there to help
them.
And finally, the last one.
And this is the 4th quad. The prophet
is not a sellout.
That the prophet cannot be bought.
So his principles and character
refused
a meld. I mean, no one can sell
him out.
No one can offer him something that will
cause him to sell out the hat,
even if it's a mountain of gold.
Because his protector, his lord gave him Isma,
gave him what we call al Isma al
Masu.
The next line,
And that the prophet was sent by Allah
to everybody,
to all people as a guide and a
mercy.
To all creation
and all communities. We're gonna stop here inshallah,
and tomorrow night we're gonna finish up.
And then hopefully by next week, maybe Tuesday,
Wednesday before 8, we'll finish the entire poem.
Again,
you know, we really need your support and
help to maintain our school and to grow
it and to scale it. And if you're
enjoying our teaching and our style of teaching,
come and be one of our students, alhamdulillah,
and in the summer, we plan to start
our full time seminary.
You can visit suheibweb.com.
We have a number of classes starting soon.
May Allah
bless you and give you good in this
life in the next. Always a pleasure. My
apologies to the Instagram folks. The phone overheated,
man. Too many.
Too much iman from the people watching.
We praise Allah.
We send peace and blessings upon
our beloved messenger, Muhammad sallallahu
alaihi wasallam, upon his companions, his family, and
those who follow them until the end of

So it's not just you Allah. It's
Allah.
In is used
when someone
doubts. So, like,
if say, someone came to visit you
and and your,
you know, your parents or your husband or
spouse said to you, such and such is
here.
You might be like, I don't know. What
if they said, you
know,
If they said it,
this is meant to remove your doubts. So
but what it means, the word
it's oftentimes,
its context can either be to remove doubts
if you think the person doesn't believe you
or to increase the certainty
of someone who believes.
SubhanAllah.
So now when you say Allahumma,
you call on Allah by all his names.
The Quran says Allah has the best names,
Call him.
And sometimes when I talk to generation z,
they tell me, like, I feel far away
from Islam.
I feel like I don't really know Islam.
If you wanna know Islam,
learn the names of Allah.
Subhanallah, the names of Allah will be your
best friend.
Wherever you go in life, you'll find his
names with you.
The Quran says Allah has the most beautiful
names.
Call make dua to him by those names.
So imagine when you say
all the names of Allah.
In, and you say indeed. The question is
like, you said in,
it's for someone who doubts
or in is to increase someone's certainty.
Because maybe some of us, we came into
these last 10 nights, we have a lot
of mistakes.
And what I notice most people,
their mistakes aren't that bad, but their insecurities
amplify their mistakes.
Or maybe they have people around them
who reinforce their mistakes in ways that are
unhealthy.
So they become overcome by their sense of
guilt. Man, the whole month of Ramadan,
I didn't do this. I made this mistake,
you know, and that person begins to doubt.
Maybe Allah will not forgive me.
Maybe Allah
will not not accept me. So what do
you say?
In the you,
so that Muslim
who comes into that dua,
who pushes into that dua
and feels
no hope,
that inner is meant to remind you,
don't give
up. Don't give up on Allah.
If you gave up on yourself, don't give
up on Allah.
If you fear your sins, find hope in
his mercy.
If you think he won't forgive you,
indeed you.
And
somebody
who already has that Yaqeen,
the in there is meant to strengthen you.
To strengthen the iman of the people. So
imagine
how beautiful is this du'a
that the prophet
taught us to say,
Allah Oh Allah,
without a doubt you you what?
The
word
The best way to understand the meanings of
dua and the meanings of the Quran
is with the Quran.
One of my teachers used to say, Al
Quran
That the Quran is a dictionary for someone
who doesn't have a dictionary.
People ask how to learn Arabic,
be with the Quran.
So
this word, Oh, Allah, you are Afoon.
The word Afum, we find its usage in
the Quran is.
Yes.
They ask you what should they spend. Say
They
should spend. You You know
what
means? Means extra.
The word
it's it's meaning in Arabic
is meaning it's
beyond the norm.
It's added to the norm.
So what does it mean when we say
Oh
Allah, you are
We're asking Allah.
We're asking Allah for extra. What is the
extra?
Extra rama.
Because the
is the one who has the right to
punish
but forgives.
He extends
his forgiveness.
So I deserve to be punished.
I've made mistakes,
but you're a full moon.
You're the one who
pardons mistakes.
So when you push into this this dua,
you're pushing into something very powerful, man,
something transformative.
You love
to pardon.
You love to forgive.
So he said,
the
word means to add.
Yes. So I'm asking Allah for an increase
in what?
Think about it, brothers and sisters. Think about
all the mistakes we made this month of
Ramadan.
Think about all of the the shortcomings that
we fell into,
and think about how we fear the sins
waiting for us after the month of Ramadan.
So we flee to
And we ask Allah,
give me more than I deserve.
That's actually what means.
Give me more than I deserve.
More of what? Your forgiveness.
You love
You love to do that.
You love to pardon.
You love to forgive.
So pardon us.
That the prophet
taught us to
say, on these nights,
it's so powerful.
Allah,
all of Allah's names.
In
to reassure myself,
don't
don't doubt it.
In indeed, you are.
You are the one who gives an increase
more than I deserve in parting pardoning and
mercy
to and
you love to do it.
So forgive us.
This is from the beautiful character of the
prophet
I just want to stop for a moment
and tell you guys, a lot of people
ask me, how can we help you? We
really appreciate you doing the work that you
do. What is something we can do?
Brothers and sisters,
I need you. Go to my website,
suaheweb.
Dotcom. Enroll in my school. Become a student.
Come learn with me.
Take take classes.
Build yourself.
Don't just be emotionally connected. And don't worry.
Don't say to yourself,
I'm not a good Muslim. Don't listen to
those insecurities.
Go if you can to suhaibweb.com,
my name. Enroll.
We need your help to grow also. It's
only $9.99
a month.
And in the summer, we're gonna start our
full term seminary program
with, like, students that really wanna study in
a religious way. So we ask a lot
to make it easy for us. But if
you want to translate your,
affection for me and your appreciation for me,
$9.99
a month is like 2 cups of coffee,
man. And that's cheap coffee. That's not expensive
coffee.
That takes us now to the poem that
we've been reading, and we reached the section
on the character of the prophet, peace be
upon him. And we said the character of
the prophet is very important because sometimes we
run into religious people
who are are eerily treat us.
And especially online, man, people just be taken
off people's heads, man. Even in Ramadan, I
don't understand it. I didn't I wasn't
subhanallah, I wasn't,
I wasn't raised that way in my Islam,
you know, to be going at it like
that. I was raised to to study and
try to be good to people
so that we study the character of Saydna
Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam.
So when we run into people that may
not live up to the prophetic character, it
doesn't impact our iman. Because
impact our iman. Because sometimes nothing can hurt
you more than a Muslim who has bad
character, but
is, like, religious, religious acting, you know, and
they hurt you,
and they're mean or harsh.
So the sheikh, he says.
The first character he talks about is the
generosity of the prophet We
know that the prophet is the most generous
of people. That's why said
the prophet is
generous like strong wind, meaning his generosity blows
everywhere.
It has no limits.
So the sheikh, he starts with generosity because
this is one of the most important qualities
of religious workers and teachers.
You know, you
have to be
generous to people if you wanna be an
iman,
if you wanna be a shayef,
if you wanna be a teacher,
if you wanna be Islamic studies teacher,
if you wanna teach the Quran, if you
wanna be
an influencer teaching people religion, you have to
be generous. You have to be generous with
your time,
you have to be generous with your health,
and you have to be generous with your
humility.
You know, you you have to be with
the people.
You can't allow
your religious accolades
to take you away from the people.
This is a trick of Shaytan because the
people are what made you.
And the people your fellow Muslim brothers and
sisters, they're the ones making dua for you.
So the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam when
you talk about his generosity,
it's in the following areas.
Number 1, with Allah.
With Allah. Meaning the prophet doesn't do any
haram.
There's no selfless self selfishness in his soul.
Everything is for Allah.
For Sayyidina Muhammad salallahu alaihi wa sallam is
generous with his life, with his breath, with
his blood, with his feet, with his time,
everything is for Allah.
Even when he sleeps, his heart doesn't sleep.
He's with
Allah, so he's generous. Some of us were
not generous
because we do we do evil. And when
we're evil, that means we're
or
The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam, which means a
miser. The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam said the
one is miserly who when they hear my
name, they don't say.
A miser to who to themselves because of
the rewards, the tremendous rewards when we hear
the prophet's name, we say.
Whoever sends
upon
me, Allah
will send
tin. Subhanallah.
Tin.
So the prophet Alaihi Salatu Wasallam,
his generosity
first with Allah
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
He he doesn't do any evil.
Everything is for Allah. The prophet said, whoever,
when my name is pronounced in front of
them, if they don't send salawat upon me,
this person is a miser
because they kept themselves away from the reward.
Also, the prophet
said the one who steals from his salah,
the one who steals
the the they're not generous with themselves.
How does someone steal from his or her
prayer? They don't pay attention in prayer. Their
mind is all over the place. They're not
functioning on the on the teachings of the
prayer. They're functioning on thinking about other stuff,
not focusing on
Allah not focusing on the prophet
not focusing on not focusing on the iman.
So the first type of generosity
is with
Allah
The second type of generosity,
of course, is with people that I talked
about earlier.
To be in
service
means you're humble.
You have to be with the people. You
have to serve the people. You can't let
it get to your head. You can't let
your knowledge make you feel like you can
look down and mistreat the Muslims.
You have to be generous with your patience,
generous with your forgiveness,
generous with your care,
generous to the the hearts of those who
are part of the ummah
of Sayidina Muhammad
The third, of course, is generosity with our
wealth,
that what Allah has given us.
We generously
spend it with others. And then finally,
is to be generous with our knowledge.
The prophet said,
whoever's asked about something and they hide it.
Allah will bridle that person with a bridle
made from.
So the sheikh, he says
from the generosity of Sayna Muhammad
is that the prophet
he never said no to anybody.
He never said no to anybody.
And for those of you on Instagram, it
looks like my
my phone was overheating. So
he said his generosity, the generosity of the
prophet,
first his generosity with his soul,
that he stays away from everything because he's
my soul. No disobedience to Allah, and his
life is for Allah. Us, are we generous
with our soul, or are we miserly with
our self? Are we generous with our hereafter,
or are we miserly with our hereafter?
The prophet
said, the one who hears my name and
doesn't say upon me, that person,
subhanAllah, is a miser.
The one who steals from his or her
prayer by not focusing on the prayer, that
person is a miser. So here we see
what I mean by generosity with Allah.
The second type of generosity is to be
generous with the people, with the community of
the prophet.
As we talked about earlier, religious worship or
religious leadership,
you have to be with the people, accessible,
humble, and you have to be patient with
people. It's not an easy it's not an
easy thing. It's not an easy thing. The
third we said is to be generous with
our wealth.
And Allah says,
there
is nothing you spend
except Allah
will give it back to you.
He's the best of providers.
And then finally, we said to be generous
with our knowledge,
not to hide our knowledge from the people.
Again, those who are on Instagram, sorry. My
phone,
my phone overheated, man.
Too much,
too much
upon the prophet. So the phone overheated, man.
So the Sheikh is a man,
So he said, the first
good character of the prophet
is that he never says no to anybody.
And if those of you on Instagram, if
it goes off,
you can go to the Swiss
Institute Instagram page. It's also
there as well.
May Allah bless your parents and bring peace
to your household. Yeah, Allah.
May
Allah bring so much peace and in your
household.
And the state of the prophet, meaning his
internal state. So his external state is he
never says no to anybody unless, of course,
there's something wrong. He
says no. So the first line, it talks
about the character
externally of the prophet. The second line,
is his heart.
The excellence of his heart,
That when he would say
yes to somebody, they will feel it from
his soul.
So beautiful. They'll feel it from his heart.
The prophet is secure for meaning when he's
around people, he makes them feel good.
Even when he disciplines them, they will feel
good.
And he forgives people when they make mistakes.
And whoever, like, sought the prophets companionship, whoever
needed like, maybe somebody asked you as an
imam or a sheikh, they come into your
DMs, like, I really need help with this.
Or maybe someone contacts you at your work.
Whoever reaches out to the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam,
he'll be there for them.
So these two qualities, number 1, he's generous
in his words and in his song. Number
2,
if people need him, he's there to help
them.
And finally, the last one.
And this is the 4th quad. The prophet
is not a sellout.
That the prophet cannot be bought.
So his principles and character
refused a meld. I mean, no one can
sell him out.
No one can offer him something that will
cause him to sell out the hat
even if it's a mountain of gold.
Because his protector, his lord gave him Isma,
gave him what we call al Isma al
Masu.
The next line,
And that the prophet was sent by Allah
to everybody,
to all people as a guide and a
mercy.
To all creation
and all communities. We're gonna stop here
and tomorrow night we're gonna finish up.
And then hopefully by next week, maybe Tuesday,
Wednesday before 8, we'll finish the entire poem.
Again,
you know, we really need your support and
help to maintain our school and to grow
it and to scale it. And if you're
enjoying our teaching and our style of teaching,
come and be one of our students
at in the summer. We plan to start
our full time seminary.
You can visit suhayweb.com.
We have a number of classes starting soon.
May Allah bless you and give you good
in this life in the next.
Always a pleasure. My apologies to the Instagram
folks. The phone overheated, man. Too many.
Too much iman from the people watching.
We praise Allah.
We send peace and blessings upon
our beloved Messenger Muhammad Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam upon his companions, his family and
those who follow them until the end of
time, alhamdulillah.
Assalamu Alaikum Rahmatullahi
to our brothers and sisters.
Welcome back to our explanation of the which
is a poem
about, like, the prophet
and the miracles of the prophet
And last time,
we talked about his miracles. And now we're
moving on to his character.
And before we start to talk about his
character,
we know that character is divided into different
components.
And the prophet, peace be upon him, he
is the best in all components of character,
but specifically
with Allah
That's why Allah
says about him peace be upon him,
that indeed, oh, Muhammad, peace be upon him,
you are on the highest level of character.
And we know that the prophet, peace be
upon him, he said, indeed, I was only
sent to reform
and complete
good character.
So the first is his character with Allah,
how he interacts with Allah. What we call
his interactions with God, his creator,
are the best.
And that's why when Allah
talks about the prophet, peace be upon him,
he recognizes him as our example.
As Allah says in the 33rd chapter of
the Quran verse 21,
Indeed in the messenger of Allah, you have
the best example to follow.
And Allah who
commands us to
obey the commands of the prophet
and to distance ourselves away from his prohibitions
when he says
whatever the prophet has brought to you, take
it.
And what the prophet has prohibited for you,
you must avoid it. So the first is
the character
of the prophet with Allah, how he engages
his worship.
And that's why often in the Quran,
Allah
describes the prophet as what Abba did,
the ultimate servant,
The greatest to worship
Allah.
But that being no contradiction
in his incredible character with Allah
and his his incredible character with others.
For example, say to Aisha, the wife of
the prophet, peace be upon him, when people
ask her, how was the prophet in his
home?
She said,
which
means he used to serve us.
And she would talk about his prayers at
night
and how the prophet, peace be upon him,
at home, his worship was even more intense
than in public
to the point that one time she said
to him, like, Allah has forgiven you.
Why are you, like, so hard on yourself?
And he said, make sure not be thankful,
devoted to Allah. So first is his character
with Allah. 2nd is his character with his
family,
Peace be upon him. As he said, one
time, even his wife, she was riding on
a bumpy in,
like, a bumpy path.
So he said,
like, take it easy. Be easy with the
crystal. He compared his wife, Sayda Aisha, to
crystal, and he
said to show his empathy, his mercy,
and his care.
With his own daughter, Zaynab,
when her son was very ill, The prophet,
peace be upon him, visited her, and he
cried when he saw her ill son, and
he made dua for her ill son. So
when you talk about the great character of
the prophet religiously,
there's no contradiction between that and his family.
The third is the character of the prophet,
peace be upon him.
With those community members,
whether they were successful or whether they were
struggling,
whether they were rich, whether they were poor,
whether they were Arab or not Arab, Or
the prophet,
he is
as the Hadith of.
He said that we begin to argue which
one of us does the prophet love the
most because they were generally confused
because there is no stratification between how the
prophet treats people. He treats all people the
same
in his community.
And so he said, I went to the
prophet, and
I
said, who do you love the most?
And the prophet said, Aisha.
Say to Aisha. And he said,
from the
her father, peace be upon him. So the
prophet
were talking now about his good character
with Allah, but then it's not enough to
be a religious person,
but also with his family,
with his community,
and then with non Muslims.
So for example, the Jewish neighbor of the
prophet in Sahih Bukhari, when his son was
ill, the prophet went to his home.
In the sunnah and Nasai, when the Jewish
funeral
passed by the prophet,
he stood up and the sahaba said, you
stand it up for a Jewish funeral. He
said, it's a soul.
So the prophet, sallallahu alaihi wasallam, even with
others, the Bedouin Arabs who used to live
around him, he would be so generous to
them that some of them would go back
to their people and say, like, there's no
one more generous and kind
than the prophet.
So the point here,
when we talk about
and
the the
the we're talking about comprehensive
character.
There's no dichotomy between the masjid and the
home,
the masjid and the streets,
the masjid and the school.
SubhanAllah, I remember there was years ago, a
brother, he he his father would drop him
off at at the school, and he would
be dressed a certain way. And then, brother,
he will go change his clothes after his
father drops him off, and he dressed completely
different,
like, in ways that are unbecoming of a
Muslim man.
That kind of dichotomy,
the prophet doesn't have it.
So now after talking about numerous miracles
of the prophet,
we're gonna talk about his character. And one
of the best examples of his character is
what we should be doing on these 10
nights.
As the prophet said, whoever stands in praise
in these nights will be forgiven.
Whoever stands in these nights with fear and
with hope and faith will be forgiven.
And one of the beautiful du'a that we
learned from the heart of the prophet that
we should all learn.
And if somebody can write the transliteration
in the comments, it's gonna be really helpful
to people.
Is the dua that when say to Aisha
ask him, like, what should we be seeing
on these nights?
What should we be seeing in these last
nights of Ramadan? And the prophet said, Allahumma.
The word Allahumma,
it doesn't just mean oh Allah.
Oftentimes in the Arabic language, we have a
letter mem, and the letter mem,
it is used to show plurality.
I'll give you an example of what I
mean. If you speak Arabic, it's very easy.
Is singular.
Is plural.
Is singular.
Is plural.
Is singular. Whom with me is plural. So
you can see here a pattern that the
letter meme in ancient Arabic,
it carries with it the meaning of plurality.
So when say the Muhammad
says,
we understand there's plurality here.
So it means more than you Allah.
When you say Allah,
when you raise your hands,
you beg Allah
You say Allah You're
calling on Allah by all his names and
attributes that you know.
All of the names and attributes that Allah
has revealed to us. SubhanAllah.
So it's not just you Allah. It's Allah.
In is used
when someone
doubts. So, like,
if, say, someone came to visit you
and and your,
you know, your parents or your husband or
spouse said to you, such and such is
here.
You
might be like, I don't know. What if
they said,
you know,
If they said it,
this is meant
to remove your doubts.
So but what it means, the word
it's oftentimes, it's context can either be to
remove doubts if you think the person doesn't
believe you
or to increase the certainty of someone who
believes.
SubhanAllah.
So now when you say Allah,
you call on Allah by all his names.
The Quran says Allah has the best names,
call him.
And sometimes when I talk to generation z,
they tell me, like, I feel far away
The question is,
like, you said
is for someone who doubts
or
is to increase someone's certainty.
Because maybe some of us, we came into
these last 10 nights, we have a lot
of mistakes.
And what I noticed most people, their mistakes
aren't that bad, but their insecurities
amplify their mistakes.
Or maybe they have people around them
who
reinforce their mistakes in ways that are unhealthy.
So they become overcome by their sense of
guilt. Man, the whole month of Ramadan, I
didn't do this. I made this mistake, you
know, and that person begins to doubt.
Maybe Allah will not forgive
me. Maybe Allah will not not accept me.
So what do you say?
In in the you. So that Muslim
who comes into that dua,
who pushes into that dua
and feels no hope,
that inner is meant to remind you,
don't give up.
Don't give up on Allah.
If you gave up on yourself, don't give
up on Allah.
If you fear your sins, find hope in
his mercy.
If you think he won't forgive you,
indeed you.
And
somebody
who already has that Yaqeen,
the in there is meant to strengthen you.
To strengthen the iman of the people. So
imagine,
subhanAllah,
how beautiful is this dua that
the prophet
taught us to
say,
Allah Oh Allah,
without a doubt you you what?
The word
The best way to understand the meanings of
dua and the meanings of the Quran is
with the Quran.
One of my teachers used to say,
That's a Quran is a dictionary for someone
who doesn't have a dictionary.
People ask how to learn Arabic, be with
the Quran.
So this word, Allahummaimnaqa'afoo.
Oh, Allah, you are Afu.
The word we find its usage in the
Quran is.
Yes.
They ask you what should they spend. Say
They should spend. You know what means?
Means
means extra.
The word, it's it's meaning in Arabic
is
meaning
it's beyond the norm.
It's added to the norm.
So what does it mean when we say
Allah Oh Allah, you are a woman. We're
asking
Allah. We're asking Allah for extra. What is
the extra?
Extra rama.
Because the is
the one who has the right to punish
but
forgives.
He extends
his forgiveness.
So
I deserve to be punished.
I've made mistakes,
but you're a full moon.
You're the one who
pardons mistakes.
So when you push into this this dua,
you're pushing into something very powerful, man.
Something transformative.
You love to pardon.
You love to forgive.
So he said,
the word means to add.
Yes.
So I'm asking Allah for an increase in
what?
Think about it, brothers and sisters. Think about
all the mistakes we made this month of
Ramadan.
Think about all of the the shortcomings that
we fell into,
and think about how we fear the sins
waiting for us after the month of Ramadan.
So we flee to Allah.
And we ask Allah,
give me more than I deserve.
That's actually what means.
Give me more than I deserve.
More of what? Your forgiveness.
You
love
You love to do that.
You love to pardon.
You love to forgive.
So pardon
us.
This dua that the prophet
taught us to say,
on these nights,
it's so powerful.
Allah,
all of Allah's names.
In to
reassure myself,
don't don't doubt it. In Neka, indeed you,
You are the one who gives an increase
more than I deserve in parting pardoning and
mercy.
To
and you love to do it.
So forgive us.
This is from the beautiful character of the
prophet
I just want to stop for a moment

doesn't impact our iman.
Because sometimes nothing can hurt you more
than a Muslim
who
has bad character,
but
is, like, religious, like, religious acting, you know,
and they hurt
you. They're mean or harsh.
So the sheikh, he says,
The first character he talks about is the
generosity of the prophet
We know that the prophet is the most
generous of people.
That's why
said the prophet is
generous like strong wind. Meaning, his generosity blows
everywhere.
It has no limits.
So the sheikh, he starts with generosity because
this is one of the most important qualities
of religious workers and teachers.
You know,
you have to be
generous to people if you wanna be an
iman,
if you wanna be a shayef,
if you wanna be a teacher, if you
wanna be Islamic studies teacher, if you wanna
teach the Quran, if you wanna be
an influencer teaching people religion, you have to
be generous. You have to be generous with
your time.
You have to be generous with your health,
and you have to be generous with your
humility.
You know, you you have to be with
the people.
You can't allow your religious accolades
to take you away from the people. This
is a trick of shaitan because the people
are what made you.
And the people your fellow Muslim brothers and
sisters, they're the ones making dua for you.
So the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam when you
talk about his generosity,
it's in the following areas.
Number 1, with Allah.
With Allah. Meaning the Prophet doesn't do any
haram.
There's no selfless self selfishness in his soul.
Everything is for Allah.
For Sayyidina Muhammad salallahu alaihi wa sallam is
generous with his life, with his breath, with
his blood, with his feet, with his time.
Everything is for Allah.
Even when he sleeps, his heart doesn't sleep.
Sallallahu alaihi wasallam. He's with Allah,
so he's generous. Some of us who are
not generous
because we do we do evil. And when
we're evil, that means we're bukhala, we're baheer.
The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam, which means a
miser. The prophet said the one is miserly
who when they hear my name, they don't
say
A miser to who to themselves because of
the rewards, the tremendous rewards when we hear
the prophet's name, we
say
Whoever sends salawat upon me,
Allah
will send
tin. Subhanallah, tin.
Upon
them. So the prophet
his generosity
first with Allah.
Subhanahu wa ta'ala.
He he doesn't do any evil.
Everything is for Allah. The prophet said, whoever
when my name is pronounced in front of
them, if they don't send salawat upon me,
this person is a miser
because they kept themselves away from the reward.
Also, the prophet
said the one who steals from his salah,
the one who steals
the the they're not generous with themselves.
How does someone steal from his or her
prayer? They don't pay attention to prayer. Their
mind is all over the place. They're not
functioning on the on the teachings of the
prayer. They're functioning on thinking about other stuff,
not focusing on Allah
not focusing on the prophet
not focusing on not focusing on iman.
So the first type of generosity
is with Allah
The second type of generosity, of course, is
with people that I talked about earlier.
To be in religious
service.
Means you're humble.
You have to be with the people. You
have to serve the people. You can't let
it get to your head. You can't let
your knowledge make you feel like you can
look down and mistreat the Muslims.
You
have to be generous with your patience,
generous with your forgiveness,
generous with your care,
generous to the
the hearts of those who are part of
the ummah
of Sayna Muhammad
The third, of course, is generosity with our
wealth.
That what Allah has given us,
we generously spend it with others. And then
finally,
is to be generous with our knowledge.
The prophet said,
whoever has asked about something and they hide
it.
Allah will bridle that person with a bridle
made from hellfire.
So the sheikh, he says
from the generosity of Sayna Muhammad
Is that the prophet
he never said no to anybody.
He never said no to
anybody.
For those of you on Instagram, it looks
like my
my phone was overheating. So
he said his generosity,
the generosity of the prophet, salallahu alayhi wasalam,
first his generosity with his soul,
that he stays away from everything because he's
Masul,
no disobedience to Allah and his life is
for Allah. Us, are we generous with our
soul or are we miserly with ourself? Are
we generous with our hereafter, or are we
miserly with our hereafter?
The prophet said,
the one who hears my name and doesn't
say salawat upon me, that person,
subhanAllah,
is a miser. The one who steals from
his or her prayer by not focusing on
the prayer, that person is a miser. So
here we see what I mean by generosity
with Allah.
The
third we said is to be generous with
our wealth.
And Allah says,
there's
nothing you spend
except Allah will give it back to you.
He's the best of providers.
And then finally, we said to be generous
with our knowledge,
not to hide our knowledge from the people.
Again, those who go on Instagram, sorry. My
phone,
my phone overheated, man.
Too much,
too much
upon the prophet. So the phone overheated, man.
So the sheikh is a man, Judy
So he said, the first
good character of the prophet is that he
never says no to anybody. And if those
of you on Instagram, if it goes off,
you can go to the Swiss
Swahibur Institute Instagram page. It's also
there as well. May Allah bless your parents
and bring peace to your household, you Allah.
May
Allah bring so much peace and in your
household.
And
the state of the prophet, meaning his internal
state. So his external state is he never
says no to anybody unless, of course, there's
something wrong. He says no. So the first
line, it talks about the character
externally of the prophet. The second line
is his heart.
The excellence of his heart,
That when he would say
yes to somebody, they will feel it from
his soul.
So beautiful. They'll feel it from his heart.
The
prophet is the cure for meaning, when he's
around people, he makes them feel good.
Even when he disciplines them, they will feel
good. And
he forgives people when they make mistakes.
And whoever, like, sought the prophets companionship, whoever
needed like, maybe somebody ask you as an
imam or a sheikh, they come into your
DMs, like, I really need help with this.
Or Or maybe someone contacts you at your
work.
Whoever reaches out to the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasalam,
he'll be there for them.
So these two qualities, number 1, he's generous
in his words and in his
number 2,
if people need him, he's there to help
them.
And finally, the last one.
And this is the 4th quote. The prophet
is not a sellout.
That the prophet cannot be bought.
So his principles and character
refused
a meld. And no one can sell him
out.
No one can offer him something that will
cause him to sell out the hack
even if it's a mountain of gold.
Because his protector, his lord gave him Ishmael,
gave him what we call.
The next line,
And that the prophet was sent by Allah
to everybody,
to all people as a guide and a
mercy.
To all creation
and all communities. We're gonna stop here insha'allah
and tomorrow night we're gonna finish
up. And then hopefully by next week, maybe
Tuesday, Wednesday before 8, we'll finish the entire
poem.
