Suhaib Webb – Reading Qalun Lesson Five Review & Practice
AI: Summary ©
AI: Transcript ©
We've
now reached our 5th week, Alhamdulillah for this
class.
We're a little bit over halfway through with
this term, alhamdulillah.
What we'll do is probably finish within,
in October and take a few weeks off
and then jump back into it again, inshallah.
And this week,
you will be receiving an email with information,
but it's okay. It's not a problem,
about when you consider a platform, Insha'Allah.
So let's quickly review what we've been going
through. What we've been going through are the
usul
for re reading Qaloon
and Naafi. Imam Manafi is the imam. So
Naafi is called aqira'a,
Qaloon is called the
Reway'a.
And, there's no difference in the 2. They're
the same. They're just terms given
for an authentic chain back to the prophet
sallallahu alaihi wa sallam within the frame of
this context. The same thing for the word
tariq.
I know in Shaki's class, there were some
questions about tariq.
If you look at
our lesson on Hafsir, we're gonna teach Hafs
again Insha'Allah in the spring. The same text
that I wrote and translated some time ago.
Bakhtetuwahabashafsamanuri
Rahim Haba.
And talk about what is it? Tariqa also
means the same sanad, the same chain, the
same
rules passed from the Rewayah, passed to the
Piraha
back to the prophet, Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Salam.
So we're learning the foundational rules
of Qadun, the more popular, if you will,
more widespread, those whose asanid are stronger,
according to what my teachers told me and
what I learned,
so that we can be functionally greeting and
qadu correctly.
A quick reminder, like, we're not taking this
class for the Ijazah. Like, it's great,
Ijazah, this come and go. It's a blessing.
But, like, that shouldn't be the reason. The
reason that we should be,
focused on this class is to improve our
salah,
to be able to teach our children, to
be able to teach others, and most importantly,
to,
have a intimate relationship with the book of
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
As the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said,
the best of you are those who learn
to teach the Quran.
And the prophet Sallallahu
Alaihi
Wa Salam, he said,
That the people of the Quran are the
people of Allah, the chosen people of Allah.
So we ask Allah to make us from
those people, Insha'Allah. The other reason that we
wanna study the different qara'at is to if
we encounter any
information out there or things that are said,
for example, recently someone
asked me if a goat,
you know, aid
a page of the Quran, the Hadith in
question related by Imam Ibn Majah,
as well as Imam Ahmed Abu Hanbal, his
hadith as Ta'eeb,
Sanadin as well as the Matan.
But sometimes we run into things like that.
So it's also important that we're able to
equip ourselves with knowledge to protect ourselves.
As the Imam Abu Hamad
Al Azali he
says that
the
fruit of learning,
is worship. So ask Allah to make us
inshallah for the most we see. This week
also you'll be receiving evaluations, so you can
evaluate me.
We're always about trying to improve ourselves, Inalla
Khattabat, Alsalala Khulishee.
And you Allah Subhana Wa Ta'la has commanded
us to
always try to improve ourselves, Alhamdulillah.
So the first rule was the basmalah, Sheikh
Abdul Fattah Qadhi says,
That, you know, between every chapter except Surat
Al Anfalah, Surat Al Tawba,
Sayyidina
Qalun,
he reads with the Basmala
out loud, Bismillahi
ur Rahman ur Rahim. Of course, this is
outside of Salah.
Inside of Salah, this is the role of
Fiqh.
Outside of Salah, when reciting the Quran,
this is the role of the Qur'an.
So we're not talking about inside a salah,
we're talking about outside of salah.
Say the Imam of Tarun
he
would
you bas me bayna suratayni ma'aada and fa'atayma.
So that's the first us we took. It
was super easy, and we saw here Imam
And also Sheikh Ahmed Daba says
So he says, you know, between each chapter,
you should basmil, this is Shiel Amriyan, basmil
ant
lahu beina subatini.
Wasi, I was gonna and this is talking
about a different but here, this is what
we want to focus on. We'll learn this
rule in a second, alhamdulillah.
So we're observing Mismillahir Rahmanir Raheem between the
chapters, alhamdulillah,
And there's a number of ways you can
do this in only one way is forbidden.
And I'll just talk about the one way
that's forbidden, the rest of Alhamdulillah is allowed.
And that would be for me to go,
Bismillah rahmanu Rahim Alhamdulillah rahmanu
Rahim Marikiyomideen
iyaqanaaboduwa
iyaqanastayin
For me to
hear say the Basmara and stop at the
end of the chapter and connect it to
the previous chapter is not allowed. Every other
way, Alhamdulillah, is permissible.
So to connect them all 3 together,
to stop and then start with the Basmana
and connect it to the chapter after, it
is fine.
To stop between each word.
Aliflami. It's fine. The only way you want
to remember that's not allowed is if you
connect the Basmara to the last word of
the previous chapter
and stop
and then start the 2nd chapter after. Why?
Because
some people, like maybe there's some people who
aren't familiar with the Quran, they may think
that the Basmala is a verse in the
chapter. And, of course, like, this is not
Haram in the sense of like heaven or
* or anything, but
it's the aid behind me. It's not good.
The next
rule that we talked about pertains to the
Muds. And here in particular, particular, we're talking
about Mad Muthosil and Mad Muthosil. We said
Mad Muthosil is easy to recognize because after
the mud, the hamst is not sitting on
an arif,
and Madmun Falsil, the hamst is sitting on
an arif.
So we know that with me,
we have 2 ways to read it with
Qasr, to haraka or Ishba for harakah. And
we know as we get later on into
these Osoo
that that choice is going to impact some
things.
That that choice is going to impact some
things.
And then, of course, with Mad Mu'tasir Arba'a
Hawakat. And as I told you before, as
Imam Gil Najjarri, he mentioned,
nobody has reported
the Quran being read with Mad Mu'tasir,
less than 4 harakat.
So Khalas, the second also from the Usul,
and I'm going to go through this quickly
because we already have learned this, but just
just to make sure that we're cementing things,
Alhamdulillah,
is that Madmun Fasi, you have a choice.
Waqsur Manfasal
wasat Nahu
Sayyidina Imam
Abdel Fattah al Padi. He said you can
read Mad,
on Fassil, with Qasil or Tawasil. The same
thing that also Saidna shouted me, he says
here and also Imam Sheikha Daba'i says this,
we're going to see in a second.
And then Madmuthasil
is 4.
Khalas,
and he says,
So the same thing,
the Sheikh,
Abu Fattah al Adi says the same thing
also here Sheikh of the Baisys.
Also, we talked about Mad Badr. The reason
it's called Mad Badal is because the hamance
comes in front of the mud.
And of course, in Warshe Nefeh, we read
Mad Badal differently.
But Kharun, he reads it with pastor, just
like Has.
Also the same thing from Al Arab de
Succoon and all this is in Tajweed season
1.
Sayyidina Qadun reads it with Qasatawasa
to Ishba'a. There's a difference of opinion amongst
the poor Rah.
If you read it one way, do you
have to follow that way for the rest
of your reading or not?
It's not really a big issue. And then
finally, my
Staharaqet
Abadaww. If you're having trouble following any of
this terminology, then this may not be the
right dojo for you.
So you can go again touch with season
1, a lot of time going through this
terminology,
the application of the terminology,
and the practice of the terminology, alhamdulillah. And
there's nothing wrong with that, Masha'Allah.
Imam al Shafi'i
he said that, Al ilwaraja,
you know, the knowledge is a review.
So here we have Masha'Allah Subaqarah in front
of us.
And we see that there are both types
of muds, Mud Mun Fosid and Mud Moqtoasil
as well as all of the other muds
that we mentioned,
even Mud Badal. So if you're reading with
Qadou Bismillahirhan Rahim Aliflam
And here we
have.
And
you
can see
And you can see this print
doesn't have the mud, and sometimes
what they're saying when they don't print the
mud is the preferred way is to read
it without with.
And
if you have done Tajweed season, I think,
3 with me, where we go through,
the narration of Has back to Imam Ibn
al Jazari with the Senate
and Qasr al Mun Falsid. In that in
those lectures, I show you prints of Hafs
that actually don't have the mud
like on the moon fossil.
And even in the book, it's there without
the mud to show you that in that
tariq, in that liwaia, in that Piraha'a, that's
the preferred way.
It's not like wash. So this is madbadah.
Here's madmuthasil
arbaaharkat.
The third also we took is the rules
for Ene. So when Ene is followed by
any letter other than Hamza, you do not
extend the fatha. You don't read the Ene
on and that's why it's in gray. And
that's why I like this print actually because
it shows you what you don't read.
Although the Quran agrees, you stop here. You
stop with the letter.
However, when Anani comes in front of an
Alif with the Fata'u Adamma, Imam Abu Talu
reads the Alif of Anani, he reads it
with
However, in
front of Kasselahi, we use it in 2
ways.
With the alif and this is preferred.
Ma wamaanainla.
But you can also read it without the
Alika, the preferred way in the Ahl Alada.
Al Mu'addan is with
observing the Alif. And as I said earlier,
everyone agrees if you stop on Adaf, you
read the Adaf.
The second is reading the plural meaning of
Bamma.
So Imam Qalun
narrates 2 ways to read this, alhamdulillah.
And this is very similar to the qira'ah
of certain Imam Ibn Kathir. Adi Allahan, mom
Shaa the Imam Shaa'at, and he says,
Here we see the
the
verse I just read from Shatabiyyah.
Right? Meksila,
like go
with
the plural meaning before a letter with a
vowel.
Even Kati and Nkalun
and according to Inakati,
Nkalun is known for allowing both.
The Khalash Yani, if one of if one
of you reading to me and you say,
No problem.
Just tell me, I really want to follow.
Through Irvin Ashid with Silat
Mi'al Jannah. And just an FYI, this is
the same way we read also in the
narration of Imam
Ibaqih.
So you can do either, but it's preferred.
Usually you see in most of the most
half, it's not there. So if you read
it that way, you should tell people, you
should tell the Sheikh,
So here we see some examples. If
you read it with
And this is only in 2 situations, right?
The letter after it has a vowel and
you continue if you stop.
If you stop, then no. That's why Imam,
Sheikh Abdul Fattah Abari says,
He gives the 2 conditions. So the minima,
you you connect it if the letter if
the word the letter after it has a
vowel, and if you're connecting. But if I
stop, if I say, Wada'uena'um
I don't say, Wada'uena'umu
Sabahu.
So Wada'i in wasala.
That happens or that occurs when you make
wasa.
However, if I stop here, I'm allowed to
stop here, although it's better to connect.
But let's say I have to.
If you want to read that way with
me, just to practice, just tell me. So
when you start reading, maybe you say to
me, I advise you if you want to
learn other qira'at,
Inshallah, in the future we're going to teach,
ibn Kathir here also, Inshallah,
after we finish,
Hash, Wash and Bijafar.
It's It's a good practice, hamdah for evil
katid. It's a good practice for evil katid.
Here's an example of the plural meaning followed
by an alif.
Inaladinakafaruosawawunalayimu.
And we know this rule, this is our
Masha'Allah Tufatah.
And our our Idkhal Tassir, we already know
that, but here you could say
The verses that I put here for you
to practice, if you look at them very
clearly, you're gonna see like the rule appears
a lot to help.
Also, Sotho Hijurat ayohibu
ahadukumu.
But don't read like this if you're leading
in the Masjid
or you're leading salah, unless you tell the
people,
right? Because people will get confused.
Just tell them, I'm gonna read with one
of the authentic ways. You don't have to
make it complicated to say I'm reading with
one of the authentic narrations back to the
companions of the prophet
back to say Nadabees.
So it's your choice. I encourage students who
wanna continue to learn more and more to
practice this.
The next also we took is He'ukinaya. We
said kinaya, actually it's like in rhetoric, it's
like an analogy,
parable,
sometimes it means something which is figurative,
is
representing
Aldamir,
who,
whom etcetera, etcetera. So the
is sort of like a metaphor, if you
will, for those pronouns.
Here translated the symbiotic. Symbolic
is when the letter at the end of
a word represents a singular male third person
or others.
And because of that, scholars called it the
symbolic
or I prefer this word actually.
It connects the end of nouns. Yani
is ismuhuah
Ahmed.
But for brevity,
So here this is called, Al kinay,
ismuhu,
you edi feehi.
Scholars agree that when the had comes before
a second letter, do not read it with
sila.
So
it comes after
the letter with segun comes after you don't
have to worry about it. That's why it
says,
However, when it comes in front of the
ballot letter, they agreed with it.
So if
after
the in front of the
damir
is a vowed letter, the kulliwosila,
if you make wasa,
then you read it with
And there's some exceptions.
Like, for example, you got Adi Ilaika.
There are a few exceptions to this rule
when Qadun does not wear a Qadun or
when Qadun does not read with sunnah,
even if those words come before a vowel
word.
So, for example, you add
you add
don't say you
a dihi ilay, you can read it with
that.
Say,
I just in that one line of poetry,
InshaAllah, I'm gonna add that poem to the
book InshaAllah. May Du'an for me, Allahuqabbarak
at my time
to add these lines of poetry for you
that we learned from Arun Sheikh. Sheikh. But
alhamdulillah, all the words are mentioned in this
poem. He says,
It's easy. You're gonna learn all these things,
But here, we're gonna make it easy for
you. So the first word of sultanate in
2 places.
I'll say you add
dihi lake.
I'll say
you
add
dihi lake. I'll say you add dihi lake.
And you'll see it written that way. I
think, Omar, when we had this class, you
asked, is it written this way? It's written
this way also.
But I want to say something. If you
really master Al Kira'a,
it doesn't matter what most half you look
at.
It doesn't matter. So if you look at
Hass, you can read Wash. If you look
at Wash, you can read Hass.
If you look at Abu Jafar, you can
be a column. So remember that, like, one
of your goals is that eventually one day,
it doesn't matter what most half you look
at, you can be a
like, wash.
So hear this word, you know, say,
The next one
And then as we mentioned here, Imam Qadunari
from Nafi
Nafi at verse 75 from Sur Daha, the
word Yatihi
with and without Silna.
That's what Asahi says, Yatihi
bil kulfi.
Yani Yatihi bil kulfi hwanakakhila.
There's a difference of opinion.
And and here what difference of opinion is
not like infilc, it means a differences of
permissibility. It was called an aluju. Either way
is acceptable.
Either both way were narrated from the Sahara.
Wameyatihimokwad,
a mopminaonokwad
or Wameyat
Now we mentioned some rules that are specific
to words as related about Palun, for example,
Here.
The word is full to fat, Alayhi
So you say,
Alayhi. Alayhi.
And also here,
fihi mo'ana
without with pasr, not silnah.
So he doesn't read it like ibn Kathir
and has, and Yahuw'ana,
and
Yahuw'ana, especially ibn Kathir, we know this is
something which is unique to his, his his
kkira'a.
It's
yanifihi
always. Hausfiihi
paloonfihi
mo'ana.
And this is where we started to get,
Masha'Allah,
into some of the depth of things that
we were going through.
And again, I just want to emphasize the
review is very important.
You know, I used to have a teacher,
Walaheen.
I,
I had to memorize one book, it's called
Al Ajuran with him years ago, and he
would always like let new people come.
I'm not going to do this to you
guys, like for 1 year, for 1 year.
So I would always like, I would stay,
I would finish,
you know, I wouldn't leave. So we would
go deep into the book.
And by that time, only a few people
would stay and a few brothers. And then
a bunch of new people would come and
it would start over again. We start to
get angry.
I said, Sheikh, man, why why keep doing
that, Sheikh?
He said to teach you how to teach
and to solidify the knowledge
and to make sure that it's very strong.
Like that is very strong. So I wanna
do this review just to, hamdah, to make
sure, like, everything's clear for you. And then
also, we're not in a rush.
Our goal is to do it correctly
and not to rush. And I know sometimes
when you study with people, when you learn
Quran, you may feel rushed,
but like Alhamdulillah,
that's not the case here, InshaAllah.
So first, we talked about there are around
6 words that don't have hamza,
like or hamza like wasabi'in
not wasabi'in.
Wasabi'un
not wasabi'un.
Sota Maida.
Sota Battaraheer, Sota Maida, and a few other
places. Wosawbein,
wosawbeun
in the haves as you learned it. But
Elkharun was Sabin
was
Saboon.
Reiro mehmus.
Yodahun
and not Yodahiun.
Here dakka
without
hence.
In that shorakka,
it's
shirk
shorakaaraf.
Also on shorla shorra and shorzaad,
laika not laeka.
Just see if you can memorize it, alhamdulillah,
it's easy.
And also in Nabi,
Sheikh Ahmeddoba, it says, alhamdulillah nabi
Inwawilla
Wawseelah.
So, you're gonna make Hamzal of Nabiyi.
So,
And there are some exceptions to Nabi that
we'll talk about in the future as we
get to the end of our classes Insha'Allah.
But for now just remember,
yani nabi'i
you a yuah nabi'i.
If you continue, tell us. If you stop,
it's a different word we'll talk about in
the future.
The second, whoseua'a,
we'll say whoseua'a.
Same thing is for teklas, kufu anna kufuwan
ahad.
Also the word mika'e
and Wa'alsaw.
Wa'alsaw.
Sayna
Ibrahim
Sotbakra
zakariya,
so this becomes madmuktasilna.
Kulema dahala
araeeha zakariya
ulmehwaag.
Like, has kulama
dakhola'are
has a karigalnehwaag.
We talked about nakas,
alhamdulillah,
And we noted that Imam Al Kalu reserves
with the following words own.
Elena, don't say Elena.
Elena.
We do not.
So,
so the knuckle. We went through this in
detail. I'm not gonna go through the details
again, just to review
Then we talked about the words that don't
have knuckle.
Like,
so it should be here sorry.
It should be number 1 is don't
say
in, in,
Surat Nisha.
And also the word, An Nasii'u
in Surat Tawba.
Then we talked about Tasil and Amor, I
didn't forget what I'm supposed to do for
you. I'm sorry,
with a new baby, a little crazy these
days, Alhamdulillah, but Allah is merciful. Alhamdulillah.
So a tasil
is cutting the hamz in half. So not
a, it's
not a,
not u, u,
u,
not ee, ee with that sharp.
It's not the I, it's.
So it's like you take off
the top of that hamster sound. So it's
not,
it's,
it's not, it's
not, it's
it's oo, oo, oo. Like that. It just
needs practice. It's not as hard as people
think it is.
So we talked about the different rules for
tesilah, we're going to get into that in
a second because
as we go through the details of elhams,
it becomes very clear,
It becomes very clear.
So, Alhamdulillah,
the first is that,
if 2 vowed hamzahs are next to each
other in one word,
Falun observed
several rules that are different than hamsters. We
go through this, and I said, this is
this is the depth of the Kira'a.
Right? So the first is if we have
2
2 fatha,
taniyatansahib
ma'al Maddi.
So,
and doctor
and but here we see
saying that Imam Qarun,
he makes tasheel of the second hand.
With Ilkhal
of an Alif.
Same thing after second is a is a
kasfa,
ilaummaaawba,
ilaawmaaawba.
And also if it's a dama,
uluk
kia. Gonna say,
oh,
oh, oh. Just
the sound, umar, actually this is,
Teskilah is gonna start, not here. It's
gonna start here.
So if you wanna
help yourself a little, just to pinpoint the
sound from here,
right above right above where you make that
It's right above it. So,
And Sheikh Ahmed,
the poem you usually hear me hear me
reading just because this poem is easier for
you to memorize
So the second,
But there are some exceptions. For example, the
word A'amantum
in Surat Ashura
verse 49 and Shorah Arah verse
123.
Amentum.
Here look,
the idkhal is after the tasil.
Amantum.
It's different. That's just how it's narrowed.
Same thing here.
Riha Tuna.
Riha Tuna. So now the Ithar in both
of these is coming after the hamza. And
there's a reason for this because if you
didn't do this there would be 3 hamza's
in a row.
But more importantly is how it's narrated.
And also there are moments where he he
reads without any,
idkhal
siwahimmetan
So here you just read it with Tasir
without that and there should there should be
no,
yeah, there.
Right? Should be.
Yeah, sorry, it's fine. That's asiel is good.
Don't say
ayehmatah.
Also the word, ara'iitah,
ara'iitah, ara'iitah, ara'iitah
dadi, you can't live all within these rules
only these words only with
tasid. And here's actually here's the word, the
verse I just read for you from Sheikh
Ahmed al Fazibari.
Theaniyatan
the second meaning the second,
hamza thaniyah
sahilhar
a sahil thaniathan. This is the Mathruw. If
you if you have some Arabic grammar background,
this is Mathruw Muqaddam for the order.
So make tasil of the second hamza with
met with idkhalsiwa
except
a'immatin, not a'im. Wanawe'en,
for example, a'amantumrawa.
So don't do with a'imma or a'amant.
And then we talked about the 2 concurrent
hamzahs from 2 different words.
Hamzatan,
Menkaremiti.
There are times when a word ends with
a hamza and is followed by a word
that begins with a hamza. Here are some
examples.
And we know that there are, like, I
think, 5 scenarios for this. Right? So, the
first is when we have 2 Khamz
with Fatah, Khamzatam of Tuohatam and Kalimbetay. And
so, we know what happens. We have Isqa'atah
the first,
and we know that depending on how you
read the Mu'ed,
Mun Fos in front of it, you can
observe a mud. So it's a mud mun
fossil here, I read it with a qasr.
I have a choice to do this with
4 or 2 with
it.
Ahadun. We went over this a lot. So
we don't need to keep going over it
again and again, but I just wanted to
be strong.
The second is, well, we
have 2 dhamma. That's why it says, Wafiqasilu
Bamdhamma
sahilnahu
taqtafi.
Very simple.
And that is that the first
hamza is always going to have tasih.
So if you have 2 of them from
you have 2 words,
first word ends in hamza, the second word
begins in hamza, and they both have dhamma,
you make teshilah the first. If you have
2 words and the first word,
the first hamza and the first word ends
in kesla,
and the second word begins with the hamza
which has tesla, make tesla the first. It's
easy.
It's
easy. So if you know the rules for
2 dollars, you know the rules for 2
dollars.
So for example,
We made the exception here is,
Wama
is Bisu,
sort,
sort to Yousef.
Says Wama'a oberri o napsi
of the hams into the well.
Bissui
Ilamawah.
Bissui
Ilamawah.
And then we talked about
2 concurrent hamzahs from different words with different
vowels. So what did we just talk about
first?
Two concurrent hamsters from 2 different words with
the same vowel.
And then we talked about an exception,
the only exception.
And now we're talking about 2 concurrent hamsters
from 2 different words with different vowels.
And I'm only giving you 5 scenarios. In
the future, we can build on this more.
So the first hamster is, the second has
dama.
You read the second hamza
with Tasil,
The second the first hams has pater, the
second has kaslik. We the second hams with
Tasil.
Amkuntum
shuhada'a'i,
i'il
Hadal.
The 3rd the first ham's haddumma, the second
has kasra, you read, the second with Tasih.
The 4th, and this is the only time
we have Badal, is at these two situations.
The first Hamza has Keselah, the second has
Feta, and this is the second with
Badal
Inna sha'a Nunazil
araeemminasana
iya yataan iya yataan.
And the 5th,
also you have,
The
first was dhamma,
the second was fatha.
So you read the second one, batonah. We
all know how to do batonah.
We went through it a lot.
And if if anyone missed those lessons, you
can go back and watch them. Subhanallah. Last
week, I told my wife. I was like,
man,
I feel like I'm actually teaching these people,
man. They they they they got Badr locked
down. Usually, to explain Badr to people is
very difficult.
You guys, masha'Allah, you guys are great students.
It's an honor to teach you, alhamdulillah.
So the first hamshidhamma,
the second is Fazza. Just like the last
example, Qalun observed Badal or you could say
Ida
of the second ham.
This is if we're making wasoliam. If you
start,
you start with hamza.
So if I stop,
alah because now that relationship is broken.
So if I stop and start from here,
I'm gonna start with
Khamz.
Remember the rule I said to you?
To saharat
athania.
We either ta atharat al mastuhah
tabad dalat al mastuhah.
It's a very simple axiom, very simple rule
that if the Fatah comes first, you make
Tassid.
If the Fatah comes second,
and the first hams is kesra or dammah,
of course,
then you make better.
Then we went on to Alhamdulillah
Al Idram.
We mentioned
the idea of Idhram here, it's not like
Idhram and
But here we're talking about iluvam of letters
into one another.
So here, if you look very carefully, you
have valentat,
and I'm not going to get too much
into this, but I talk about this in
Tajweed
season 1. When I talk about Mutakaribay,
Mutakjanisain,
Mutamathilein.
Inshallah, when we study the qira of Abi
Amr Abbasri, it just becomes very important. But
until that time, alhamdulillah, that's a long time
away. So we don't have to worry about
it. But here, look at look at what
Parun does.
Into the test. So you read it as
though there's no that. That's why it's in
gray.
The other one
is mim,
followed by ba. You are Themayasha,
you are Themayasha,
you are
Adhimmayasha,
and
Warash you are Adhibamayasha,
both they read it mazun,
They both read it Mas'un Bisukun,
but Sayyidina Imam Qadooin
Yudrim
Al Ba'almin.
This became
We learned this in Tajweed season 1, so
you're going to hold it for 2 harakans
with Onna.
The other is that
into that. This and and these are the
only places that's gonna happen. So no. Oh,
is there other places, like, oh my god.
Like, what if I don't learn them? These
are the only places this happens. So I
put an offer here so it's easy for
you.
Don't say.
Yal
Haddari, Yal Haddari,
Yal Haddari.
The next is bad to me.
Then we talked about Ithar.
There are certain rules where he observes Ithar,
alhamdulillah,
and then we stop there. So if there's
any questions about anything we covered, what we're
gonna do now, while you think of any
questions, is we're going to start to do
some reading. Even though,
we spent most of our time reviewing, I
want to spend
a good portion of our time today
as well doing some practices, Insha'Allah, and I'm
going to be calling on you to read
Hamzgiblah.
So if there's any questions, feel free to
raise your hands or unmute yourself.
And we are going to jump into,
reading. Next week, you have like sort of
a pop quiz.
It's not that pop, but now you know
about it. It will be open note, and
you can work together to do it in
the class time.
But there's going to be
a review,
and then we'll take a few rules for
next week as well, some new rules, alhamdulillah.
And again, like, don't worry about grades and
stuff like that.
That's not our concern.
Our concern here, alhamdulillah, is to learn
to read correctly, hamdulillah, and
to,
improve ourselves.
I think Tasneem is here too if you
want to tell how you got your file
to
work while I pull up the most half
and then other people may be thinking about
their questions. I hope,
and I'm asking
for feedback. I hope this review was helpful
to people because,
I know sometimes, man, it can be a
lot to
handle, you know?
So I want to make sure that,
you know, we are reviewing,
hamdulillah and
making things easy for everybody, Insha'Allah,
as best we can. There's always a little
work, but also any feedback on the review
would also be great to know.
Tasneem, are you there? Can you share with
us how you were able to upload your
audio file?
I got some people's audio files even though
they said I didn't get it, and I
returned their results as well.
So
Yeah. Assalamu alaikum.
So what I did is,
I had an app and I went to
the setting, and I just changed that format
because the only format it wasn't accepting was
the m4.a
or something format.
And then I changed it to MP 3,
and that's it.
Awesome. So everybody changed the format to MP
3. I'm gonna extend the date to turn
in the the quiz.
And then I'm going to post,
next week's quiz, like,
right before class.
So that,
you guys will be ready to go. And
what we'll do is we'll break you up
into different groups,
and you'll be able to download it by
the time we start class. So you have
the quiz in front of you so you
can talk together,
Insha'Allah. And then we'll do the answers together.
Like, we're not going to, like, do, like,
you have to turn turn it in and
you get a grade or anything like that.
I'm gonna put the questions there, alhamdulillah.
And then I'll probably just post it on
on the Google Classroom, like, right before class
time, alhamdulillah, through Google Forms.
And I think that'll be easier and then
put people into groups,
alhamdulillah, you know, let people work through it
together, and then we'll come back and do
it. But before we take our quiz together,
we will take a few new rules as
well inshallah.
I hope everybody is doing well, inshallah, my
sincerest, warmest regards to everybody.
So here we have a word in front
of us,
and it is the word Asama,
and here we see this interesting symbol
followed by,
Hamz Maksura.
So
who would like to,
raise their hand and read the verse
and then read this correctly.
And tell me why they read it the
way they read.
Everybody's shy.
So I'll model it for everyone so we
make it easier.
So I'll try to relay that in the
Sheraton regime. This is how I want you
to do it when you when you when
your turn comes. You want to read diverse
Walebi,
as we said on call, as we'll talk
about in the
future, that we make tequino to hap. We
don't say,
wahwaladiifisana.
What is this?
Who knows what this is?
Who can help me?
Who can read it? Can I read it
correctly?
Insha'Allah, I'm interested to hear
someone read it. So we make tasil, obviously.
Wafiqasiyoqawmin
sahnaahu
taqtafi.
It's not easy.
Nice.
So that's, and actually it's Wahwaladiafon.
Wahwaladiifisama
ilahuwa
Let me find another one, but I don't
want you guys to see it because then
it kind of defeats the purpose. Right?
Let me find,
Okay, here's our next one.
And I want to encourage everyone to try,
don't worry.
It's not the end of the world.
So here we have the verse.
Here it is.
So here it is, Surzuz Zohruf
verse 19.
There's a lot of discussion about this in
different
Qur'aats as well. So who is willing to,
step up to the plate Insha'Allah and read
and tell me what's going on? I mean,
it's very easy. We know that the first
terms has fatha,
and then this is idkhar
or fossil.
Right? So this is the mad, the issue
with this.
What do we do there?
And for the words,
I wish I wish I do, we will,
So let's see if you read the verse.
Or read this read this section here. You
can say,
you can say,
I forgot my Malay language. Nice. Thank you.
Thank you. Very nice. Masha'Allah.
Excellent job.
So what happened, Abdulhamid, can you explain it
to them?
Okay. Can you explain it again?
Okay. For the word,
since it's a, you know, one word,
2 hamza,
first is fatha, second is doma.
In kolun,
we will read
Idahol Matasil,
Idahol on the first hamza,
and Tasil on the second hamza.
Is it, or,
That's so nice. And then how are you
gonna read it?
Nice, nice, nice.
Very good. Okay, Omar Zahed, I want to
hear your Tasheed.
You're worried about your Tasir.
So in Hasa, of course, this is
also this verse
just,
Bailahillah.
This verse also is a very strong condemnation
for talking about Allah without knowledge.
Those people who said these things about Al
Malaika and about Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
They're going to be asked about what they
said. So it's like something to think about
and today everybody has something to
say. So we should be very careful when
we talk about Allah.
It's perfect. Very nice.
It's really good.
That was perfect, Tasil, bro.
It's really nice.
It's excellent.
Let's continue. Find some other rules here.
Just scanning the most half.
Trying to make sure.
Okay.
So,
who can explain to me
someone who hasn't already
talked, right,
or answered? So I'm gonna read this verse,
And then I have the Basmala
and then I have Sholto Zomar.
So
if I stop,
you know, if I finish this chapter, Alhamdulillah,
Then I go to Sholto Zumr and I
have the basmala.
What do I do in Qalam?
And then
So
what do I do with the Basmala?
Who can tell me?
Who can read it?
Not just tell me the rule, but read
the rule.
The very first rule we learned.
So,
when we continue,
all the ways of the Bismillah are permitted
except when we say
That's the only way that is not, permitted
because somebody that is not,
doesn't know much about the Quran, they're gonna
think that
is part of the previous Surah.
So I can so I should read the
Basmala'in Qalam?
Yes.
Are you sure?
The Basmala, you're supposed to read Nkalim. Right?
Are you sure? I'm asking.
Yes. Except for,
Suratawba.
Suratawba. Suratawba. Yeah. Surat between Suratawba and Suratawba.
Yeah. Sorry. I'm just trying to mess with
you. See, that's what knowledge does for us.
Right? So there'll be times in our lives
where we run into people, and they may
try to say things or ask questions that
throw us off. But if you know, you
know.
So even
you were saying, right, right? But you know
the rule. You can tell me if I'm
wrong, right? I was just trying to trick
you. So you're
gonna say,
And so just like that. Excellent. Great job,
Ameera. That was so good.
Let me find some other rules here.
Oh,
okay. I have a rule here for everybody.
So, I want to see how
how you do it.
And so this application is very important.
It's nice to do it together. It helps
reinforce our learning
as well as allows us to self evaluate,
where we are, hamdulillah, and our growth,
as well, hamdulillah.
So here, I'm looking for this,
this rule
here.
Yes, this is what I'm looking for.
So now I'm going to do something a
little different.
There is one really important rule
on
this line.
There's a few rules, but there's one really
important rule that I want to see if
anyone can
pick it out for me. Tell me
this one
glaring
observation that we do in Palu
that is like right in front of us.
Who can catch it?
Who can see
it.
So read it,
and explain the rule to us.
So we're from Sheikh, this from Paula.
Where where do I read the whole?
No. No. Just
you saw
what I'm asking about. So if you want
to explain the rule and then just read
and you can start from Ocala. Yeah. Start
from Ocala. Sorry.
So the word is.
So the alif on the here, Imam Khollun
reads this when it is followed
by a hamza.
And if the hamza had a kasbah, then
it wouldn't there was a preference
whether there is option of reading it or
not, but we prefer to read it.
Yeah. And and if you stop,
you have to stop. Right? Nice. Alhamdulillah.
Really good, man. Masha'Allah. Good job, Amir. As
well I see you. Alhamdulillah I see you.
Let's do a few more.
Let me just make sure you guys can
see my screen.
This print has the answers on the sides.
Have to be a little careful
in what I show you.
Yeah. So,
go here.
And don't
be intimidated to make mistakes or,
I'm gonna ask, you know, the knowledge is
is a process somewhere.
So everyone knows Khawadim
Sota Baqarah, alhamdulillah. And
we're here.
So in this area,
there is a rule
that we learned,
and
I'm sort of
in this general area of this verse right
here.
Yeah,
so starting there, I'm looking for something
that's unique to Paolo, even Wash doesn't read
it like this,
both coming from Nephe.
The merging of the ba into the min?
The of the ba into the min, Exactly.
So how are you gonna read it?
Where should I start from? Start from the
Nice. Good. And of course, and Haps, how
do you read this?
Yeah. This is the giveaway. Right? So, you
know, this is Madzum
with Sukhun, so this is going to be
Madzumato
from Madzum.
Nice, good job, Amir.
Let's do a few more.
And the next week,
yeah, next week. Alhamdulillah.
Okay.
This one is maybe a little tricky.
Let's see who can get it.
Longest verse of the Quran.
So we have 2 rules here.
Here's 1.
Here's the other. Both of them from the
same section.
Hamzetan,
then Kalimbetain.
Hamzetain,
Muqtadifatin,
then kalimbetin.
2 hamzas,
2 different verbs,
2 different words.
I'm just going to tell you now that
this was a fatah.
Right? So kesra
and then
Qatar.
This one here, this is Kesra.
Actually, he wrote it for you here. Oh,
it's here. You can see the Qatar. I
didn't see that above it. When I went
around Kalon, I didn't have the marks.
So
you guys got to eat. So what's going
to happen here?
What's
the what's the axiom I talking?
When
the first hamza is fatha,
it will be the seal.
When the second hamza
is fatah, it will be Ibadan.
So what's happening here,
Twan Abdulrahman?
We,
we're gonna be reading Iblal.
So you're gonna read it with Iblad.
Mashallah.
So
start from here.
And let me hear you read it, inshallah.
Excellent. Good job.
Everybody understand what he just did?
Remember the rule.
If the fat comes first,
it's Tasir.
If the Fatha comes second, it's Ibadan.
And why is it Ibadan Avya Ab, Twan
Abrahman?
Why?
Refer to
the half
or the the vote, the before
the second.
For for this one, we
the first hamza is
Kasurah,
so
it somehow, like, changed to,
yeah, I don't know how to
put in a word, but
they did happen when
changed to, yeah. I don't know how to.
Did you say?
Ibtuya.
There you go. Because you can use Arabic,
Arabic,
Arabic English mix.
So we know.
That's very good. Thank you. Masha'Allah.
Excellent,
bro.
Alhamdulillah.
So
this Kesra,
it's big
sister or brother is what?
Is Yeah.
So when we make Ibladah of it,
this becomes
Yeah. So,
Minash Shuhadeh
The hamz
is second,
and it's fata,
and before it is a kesla or bama.
This hamza is going to be bedlam. So
it's only going to be either bedlam of
what? Of yeah or well?
And all that is going to be based
on the vowel that comes before. So if
this was a lamma,
hypothetically,
right?
If this was a Bamma,
what would this be Mubadal?
What will we make Ibdal of it to?
Awa.
So either waa or yeah.
Excellent, excellent. Good job. Thank you, Abdulrahman. That
was wonderful.
Masha'Allah.
Who's going to take this rule?
So now we don't have a fatah.
Khalas,
it's easy.
We don't have a fatah, super easy.
So what's gonna happen to
this Ida?
It was Ida,
Madu,
Sometimes people make a mistake. They see.
It's.
But what's gonna happen to this?
Who knows?
You do Tazeel?
Yeah. So really what Tazeel let's hear you
do.
It.
Excellent. Good job. Good job.
Are there any other questions? Because we've gone
way over time,
but I wanted to
make sure we have
enough time
to to complete it.
And here you can see the answers.
So this is a way you can study
on your own.
Right? If you look at it, you go
through this most half that's why I put
this print in the Google classroom.
Just go through it. So you're going through
it. You see just go through it really
fast. Oh, there's something here. Let me zoom
in quickly so I don't see the answer.
If I don't speak Arabic, I don't have
to worry about the answer anyways.
I look up, oh,
the same
the same thing that Amir just read, the
same situation. And then I see the answer.
That's why I actually
put decimals half here for you so that
you can do this kind of practice with
it.
Sorry, Shay.
On the side note,
it's
internal so for Yascha'ahu, so
for Colony
and first hamza is dharma
and second is
You you see that Iddal and Tasil for
Yesha
Uyin.
So No. No. Just just Tasil.
Just Tasil. Yeah. Yeah. Here here
this is a different rule. This is not
the same word. It's not the same verse.
This is for a different verse. And this
is it. So the only problem with this
Moshef a little bit. So for me, sometimes
this Moshef, I get confused
because this sign
in other tera'a, I learned is for Ibadah,
not for Tasil. That's what's happened to me
the last few weeks also.
But also sometimes they don't show you the
different. If you don't know the verses you're
gonna get confused.
Yeah, so sometimes
it's a problem.
And also sometimes they may mention some Tawruq
which aren't that known.
Mhmm. Which aren't that known, but Alhamdulillah.
No problem.
Let's take this last one, and we're gonna
finish.
Here is
Khata followed by Bama.
Stone Blaf Tuha.
This is Hamzatan
made Kareema.
Two hams from one word.
This is an interrogative article.
Shall I not?
Una biukum inform you.
So what's gonna happen here?
Exactly.
Assa'Allah.
Assa Allah. Assa Allah. Assa
Allah.
Assa Allah. Assa Allah. Assa Allah. Assa Allah.
Assa Allah. Assa Allah. Assa Allah. Assa Allah.
And we are very close to actually, we're
really far in front of our schedule
because you guys are are doing so well.
And,
next week, we have sort of our quiz.
We'll do it together with some a few
of the rules,
and we may actually finish the rules a
lot quicker than I had initially assumed, Insha'Allah,
so that our next semester, we just start
our reading of
Qal'un, which is.
