He was
Ahmed. He was Ahmed. We
are certainly Emery.
We pray to
Allah. We send peace and blessings upon
our beloved messenger, Muhammad
upon his blessed family and companions and those
who follow them until the end of time.
I hope everybody is doing amazing. It's great
to see everybody here. Again, Ahmed, I'm gonna
ask you if you could, I I think
I took care of you. Okay. Thank you.
Big shout out to Ahmed also for always
being ready to help. I hope everyone is
doing wonderful
and,
enjoying,
the last week as they were engaging.
These new rules that they're learning for the
of
Imam Nafi through the of Imam
Qalun,
Rahim
We're
going to quickly just do some housecleaning stuff
just to make sure everybody
is on the same page and everyone knows
where everything is. This is a class exclusively
for Swiss members, and this is of their
participation and engagement. Although it's broadcast online,
we wanna encourage people to enroll and sign
up and support the work that we're doing
at SWISS, and this is kind of an
example of that work that we do.
I wanna get to the classroom here.
That's right. That's what I'm looking for and
to show
sort of everyone where things are just to
make sure that we're on the same page
as we begin to move forward because
I'm I'm considering adding,
as we continue,
another session just for practicing,
sometime in September. As you know, I just
was blessed with a baby, so that's keeping
me up late at night. But as things
begin to settle,
will add another day,
or even office hours I put on Google
Classroom that people can set up with me,
Insha'Allah.
So I had to take you, and we
can get started. So this is the Google
Classroom here at Swiss that we operate. All
of our classes actually run through Google Classrooms.
Here's a classroom code. If anyone is having
any issues, just contact me via email, and
we will take care of you. And this
will not only be for Karun,
but all of the students that we have,
whether it's in,
ibn Kathir,
Bujaffar,
any of the that we we're gonna start
teaching in the future, like, this will be
sort of that hub that station that you
wanna stay in in touch with. I'm gonna
be adding some homework soon for this course
just for you to practice, for those of
you who are interested. So you will find
that also here under class classwork. But when
you log in,
once it's posted, in, you're gonna find it
here as well. Today, I uploaded 2 really
important documents. One of them we're going to
be looking at today when we practice reading
because we don't have a lot of rules
to cover today. I don't want to overburden
people with the rules,
but we're gonna be looking at this Moshef.
And there's another Moshef, which actually is the
print in Tunis, which is used, which is
really nice because it has
as as I pull it up here, I'll
show you why
it has
kind of like the,
some of the rules on the side margins
that are really, really good. This print actually
is excellent that we're gonna be using today
as we continue. It's done by doctor Tofi
Oktamra who's like a great scholar. Although it
looks very simple, like, it's incredible if you're
really trying to master the rewire because
he has the differences between hafs and
in pink.
So you can see them here.
Not So it's, like, really nice in here
also. So I put up a number of
those resources here at the Google Classroom, and
that's why it's important.
Also, announcements are here. So, So, for example,
office hours that start in September, I'll be
putting that information here for you. I think
that'll be actually easier for me than a
group gathering,
and it has to be at least a
minimum of 2 people. I'm not gonna meet
with 1 person, so at least 2 people.
So I think the best way to go
about this to have a study buddy, Abdulrahman.
If you're in Singapore, no problem.
Singapore.
And so hey, check up
So I am,
ready to be at your service anytime.
I I
pulled away from my work at NYU so
that I could do this full time. That's
one of the reasons that I stepped away
from it. So whether you're overseas or here,
and I think Saeed, maybe he's here. If
he's here, we can tell you, like, even
in Pakistan, I would meet with him, and
we will read together.
Here's another here's the book. But,
as you'll notice, this is very important. Like,
every week I'm making updates as I'm reading
the text that I wrote. I wrote that
text in, like, 2 weeks really quickly. So,
of course, there's going to be mistakes,
and there's going to be work that needs
to be done. So
every week, like, I'll be uploading things related
to the text with edits. That's why I'm
asking people not to share it now.
So, like, this week, you see it here.
It's also on the app as well as
on, alhamdulillah, on the swift page. We have
a class starting, alhamdulillah,
which I'm really excited for, and it's going
to start on the 9th August through
the
13th of
September from
to
to
we're gonna set up.
So I'm not sure when when I was
kicked off, but let me again go back
to where we were
and make sure that everyone saw,
what we were doing. Sorry about that, guys.
I suddenly was kicked off. I was just
sitting here talking. I didn't realize
how long ago I had been kicked off.
So
let me get back to where we were.
Here. Awesome.
And then go here. So as I was
saying, this Google Cloud Zoom was, like, really,
really important.
We have here these prints of the of
that I shared with you. This is the
one I would encourage you to use. Honestly,
it's, like, really good.
And then as you can see, I interact
with you and answer questions. And I I
mentioned here that in September, I'll start office
hours with you, but it has to be
2 people or more. I'm not meeting with,
one person,
just because of time, and it allows us
to get more things done.
The update of the text is here. So
every week, there'll be updates that you'll need
to stay in touch with. Like, today, you're
gonna see some serious updates. And then I
I believe you heard me announce this course
is starting on 9th
August. This actually is open to the public,
but people have to register through SWISS because
the sheikh, he wants people to register.
He doesn't want it just to be kind
of haphazard. So anyone interested can go to
suhayweb.com.
Just put your email in, and we'll take
care of registration for you in the future.
It's actually from 6 to 7 PM
from 9th August to 13th September.
And, again, as you can see, you're free
to ask any questions. Like, don't worry that
you have,
regarding the topic. And if I'm able to
share information,
I'm happy to do so. And, alhamdulillah, you
find the syllabus as well as this amazing
reading of Sheikh Al Hosuri,
Rahim.
And here, I I put the syllabus up
again,
after AmirAli reached out to me. So I
super, super
appreciate
that. So
let's jump in now to learning our rules,
and then we're going to learn only 2
rules today as it's on the syllabus. And
then we're going to listen to people we
read who are interested in reading, and then
we will,
be done inshallah for today. And, again, I'm
I'm super happy to see so many people
excited. This class continues to grow like there's
a lot of attention to the class.
So, alhamdulillah, we ask Allah
to accept inshallah and put hayer in our
efforts inshallah. And let's just remember to make
sure our intentions are in the right place.
So last week,
we talked about who was Imam Qadun briefly,
but I'll put a larger bio at the
bottom as well as his Sheikh, Imam Al
Nafi,
and then we started with the first few
rules. The first rule, of course, is the
basmalah, and we noted
as,
Imam Shatabhi says,
and I told you that the letter bat
when used in certain context, and I always
put it in for you if it's used.
So, you know, because I know,
perhaps that can be difficult recognizing all those
things, and I'll put it also between parentheses.
But that bat means kalun. So
is one of the people who reads
between the two chapters.
And also Shahamad Daba who his entire text
will have here,
like such a great text Inshallah.
He says
So he says here, this this first part
is only dealing with the rule that we
learned. Then
you must make as
related from between
the two chapters.
Somebody may ask why some Quran, they read
with
and some don't because
in the 6th month Sahib that he sent
across the world.
At that time, some of them had the
basmalah and others,
didn't have the basmalah.
And those that
it's very important to realize that Sayyidina Uthman,
when is we'll talk about this in the
future. There were words in the Quran
that there were differences over in the sense
that people read them differently. The prophet allowed
them read them differently. Like,
or
the masahif that say no other men,
had which were, of course, taken from the
the masahaf of Sayna Abi Bakr
They left those without dots
to show that they were allowed. So as
we continue to study together, you're going to
see the maturity and the depth of our
ancestors
and why they did not hate each other
and why Muslims were really able to, subhanAllah,
do something incredible
because of their maturity. So that that's one
of the reasons that sometimes the basmalah was
there, sometimes it wasn't.
Even though it was recited by everybody, by
the way. And that's a different story.
So
here's the the rule that we talked about,
and then I put here the print for
you.
And tonight, I'm hoping to hear people
read
And we talked about extending and shortening the
and we said that imam
Khalun Khalun really reads
with 4 harakah.
As imam
says
Right? So what that means is for
Haruka. And I mentioned to you that none
of the Imams of have
ever
reported
and narrated that
was read with less than 4.
The second part of that is when it
comes to the separated mud, we're going to
be reading with Qasr. Although, Imam Qalun allows
for a harakah, we're going to be be
reading with 2.
Which
is basically one second. A harukah is half
a second.
And that's why
he says woman fossil
So any mud, which is mud moon fossil
4
or 2.
And then anything which is mud, you're you're
observing
to us.
Then
we talked about some of the other muds,
like mud battle, manual.
We said he read it like halfs. Same
thing with mud out of the soup and
the same thing with mud. Let's say a
ball
lean
we mentioned,
lean also. We'll talk about it in the
future. You can read it in different ways.
But but I didn't I don't think I
listed it here, but I will list it
in the future
Inshallah.
And here we see in,
Surat,
Madleen is the same as Hafs in by
the way. But here we
see
at the beginning, and we went through each
one of those.
There's no need for us to repeat them
again.
And the third rule and the final rule
that we talked about was ana.
Ana means the eye. And when Anna is
followed by any letter other than Hamzah, you
do not extend the fatha.
Mean the alif, you don't recognize alif. That's
why it's in gray. If you look at
it and it has that small looking kind
of
o symbol,
that means that you don't pronounce it.
Same thing with the 10 when you don't
hear the noon.
Into the mean. So
you don't say
mean. As though the noon isn't there. Same
thing here also.
And
We say when Anna comes in front of
an alif or a fatah or a dharma,
Imam Khadun, we we use the alif of
Anna.
Right? Meaning, it comes in front of,
hams
that has fatha or the or Kasar.
Or.
Another example,
We talked about there's the. There's a difference
of opinion about the,
but we're going with a stronger opinion that,
alhamdulillah,
you read it with
the the mad.
And all of the Quran recognize that if
you stop on Anna, you read them at
alhamdulillah.
That takes us now to our new rules,
and you're going to see some updates in
the text
of.
But before I do that, are there any
questions as well about anything that we are
already covered? And, Omar, I'm so happy that
you made it.
Omar has been,
like, such a consummate,
like, motivation and just his entire, like,
excitement to take this class has motivated us.
So,
like, we really,
appreciate you, you know, making it.
So now we're going to move on to
the 4th, rule, and I tried to organize
this text in a way that's, like, very
clear for you.
So I always put it like this so
you can see it reading the plural meme.
And the plural meme is, like, for example,
let me show you,
in
what I'm talking about here. Let me find
it for you. Yeah.
So if we go to I'll show you
what I mean by
the plural meme.
Just one second.
I really want this to be super clear
for you guys.
So if we look at salt of fat,
you have here, we see the plural meme,
Ala
him, alas,
and
that
meme
supreme.
Which
means they oops. Sorry. Which means they this
is called mem aljema.
Mem aljama.
Yeah. I already talked about the the,
the moon fossil is red with. I mentioned
it last week.
So.
That meme and there's something very important to
realize that in Arabic language, this is mentioned
by Sayidina Imam Asiboy.
Meme is often used to show plurality like
kum, you,
and to whom you people.
Right? Whom,
them.
So that's why some
as a side note, they said the word
Allah, whom that meme actually is it indicates
a plurality.
So the person is calling on Allah
by all of his names
and attributes,
what to'ala. It's like really nice.
So that's called
and
imam
There are 2 ways to read the meme,
but we're reading it of course with the
of Abina sheet, which is like the easier
way,
Actually, I learned before I learned even Kathir
because it helps you practice.
So here, this is actually the Helwani.
So imam college reads this meme
in 2 ways.
The first, the preferred way is to read
it without sila, without that well.
So, like, here,
You don't see the well at the end
of it. But here you see
and without this well.
The second to re is to read it
with. So I have to edit this a
little bit. This this actually should be
here
up at the top. Right? Right here.
If a plural mean comes before a a
hamza, then you can read that
the mean like you read a separated mud
mud.
However, in the way that we're reading, we're
not doing that.
So in the,
him,
and the hotel.
But if we were reading with another, which
is mentioned by a child to be, when
he says, well,
yeah, here's the poem right here.
Then you would say,
so
say the imam,
he recognizes this way of reading and he
narrates it as being away from say the
imam and, but we're not going to be
reading that way. But FYI, just for you
to know about it,
just for you to know about it. However,
when we're reading it in all situations,
me, we're
reading it with Sukhun.
That's what I say. Nashat to be says,
well, seal them while seal them,
me,
So say the imam,
he says, make Salah with a plural mean
before a letter with a vowel
is even is
known for allowing both. So, well, will be
is well known that you can do either
or. Again, we're not doing that. We're not
going
and.
We're just saying.
Whether there is an alif or whether there
is a letter which has a vowel after
it
doesn't matter. We're not gonna read it that
way. Here are some examples. So maybe some
people are a little bit confused,
So you can see what what I'm referring
to.
So here is which
is our practice chapter,
for
this class.
And the last says, this is the prince
of.
Here's me Majama.
And
home.
And if they indeed,
so in our, in our
of that we're reading, I've been a sheet.
We're not saying,
although you may hear some people read that
way is correct.
Both are allowed, but we're not reading that
way.
And you can see,
That's why I really like this print. They
put the sukoon there so, like, nobody will
get confused.
Like, nobody will get confused.
So
So here, this is called meme Jama. What
does jam mean? Plural. And if they
to them
for them.
So that me means them. That's why it's
called meme Gemma.
So, but here you see, shout to me.
He says,
for those of you
Look how amazing
Imam Shatabhi was that for
the Imams and their students use letters. So
I try to put this here for you.
And in the future, when I finish editing
the the text, I'll put it as a
footnote. Like, that is Ibn Kathir.
So
even
Kithir,
but from Khair means you can choose to
either one is either one is good.
And here's
again, like,
I hope, like, you can appreciate the maturity
of the Quran, man. It's, like, really nice.
And
that these are narrations back to say
as we'll talk about with, doctor Youssef's class.
And I gave a lecture about this last
week in the DC area.
But you see, like,
something really there's a lot of nur, you
know, in the Quran, SubhanAllah. It's a lot
of light in the Quran.
If someone's
busy watching YouTube clips of whoever,
and they're not spending time with the book
of Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, and I mean,
YouTube clips are not related to the akhira,
then no wonder, like, they don't feel well.
Right? Or they're sitting scrolling through Instagram or
TikTok, and they're watching, you know, poodles make
Kool Aid and people do,
you know, car pour from
a park or whatever from, like, buildings.
They're wondering, like, where's my iman light? Here's
where
there's a lot of.
We ask
You don't have to memorize these lines, but,
like, if you do, if anyone's interested in
can
have
in the
and Alif.
In
him.
So here we see
him.
Next week, we're gonna learn this rule. But
here you see, I'm not saying,
he move,
or like, wash making it sit to Harakat.
Here, we read it just like house.
Also, so to her jolat, we find an
example of this.
Would any of you love to eat
the flesh of his or her dead brother?
But here we see the moon, the meem,
you.
Meem. So whether it's they or you, the
meem always brings this meaning of plurality.
Should try to keep that in your mind
if you're trying to learn Arabic because it's
very important when you're writing or when you're
trying to speak.
You
It's not
This is
or,
which we're not learning now.
And
also,
from wash would read it this way. And,
of course, as the rock is long, but
we don't wanna get you confused now. Let's
just focus on.
There's another example as well from Surah Tor
Hurjurat. Would anyone like to read this for
us? Please feel free to,
unmute yourself,
and
you're fine.
Again,
Abdul Ahmed,
just to to to clarify for you, a
lot of the people in this class have
not taken this this rewire before.
So I'm just keeping it as simple as
possible. But.
Yes. Who would like to read?
May I?
Yes. Go ahead.
I'll
be
Nice. Nice. Excellent. Excellent.
Excellent. Who else would like to read?
Which one is the first one or second
one?
Excellent job, Masha'Allah.
Anyone else would like to read,
Please
go ahead, Swag.
Excellent. Nice.
Good job, man.
Who
else is interested in trying to to read?
I'll give it a try.
Nice.
Yeah. Amira, the way that we're reading it
is the same
We're not reading.
We're not reading it.
That's the point of this, but be aware
that there's a other way of reading it.
No.
Now we're going to move on to the
symbolic
It's called El Cunea.
And the symbolic is when a letter
at the end of a word represents a
singular male third person like he, for example,
like he.
I I don't want people to read with
Scylla with me because I'm not reading with
that.
So it it it it will complicate some
things for us if we do that. So
I prefer that we all read on the
same. And, also, if someone wants to read
those other the other 3 of me in
the future, they can. Like, it's not a
problem. But for this class and because of
the text,
we're just gonna stick to this way. But
I love that, enthusiasm.
And,
thanks for pointing that out to me, man.
I I super appreciate that.
So the symbolic al kinay is when the
letter
at the end of a word represents a
singular male third person, like he, for example.
Because of that, scholars called it either.
You see it sometimes in Arabic. It's called
and others call it
It consists of the ins it connects to
the ins of nouns like ismuhu
Ahmed,
Who that
yeah. If you wanted to take out the
you say is.
So here is like a symbol. It's a
symbol of the word.
That's why it's called
or her of the mirror.
The word the mirror means something hidden.
Right? The mirror means your conscience. How the
shuts mind the whole demeanor means that person
has no conscience.
So here,
especially in rhetoric, we have something called a.
I don't wanna make it talk about it
now, but here, the idea is this
is is is
is is
Ahmed.
He his name.
You find it in verbs also. It's not
only now
is
Ahmed, his name, but also you
they
used to do when we
study in Tafsir.
When we're studying Tafsir, they will stop us
and make us explain what is that? What
is that damir? This also is very common,
especially in the medic, he met him in
our texts.
Our teachers will stop us and say,
explain the, explain the explain
the,
so you'd have to say like that. He,
he who is he. He Al Quran.
So it's like a nice a nice way
to,
like, when you're studying Arabic, trying to learn
Arabic, you can stop and ask yourselves, like,
what is that
referring to?
Scholars agree that when the comes before a
second letter, you do not read it with
a.
Talk about that. We should already know what
a for in this class. If not, I
encourage you to take Tajweed season 1 and
2. So for example, Tahdi, *, and
Tati * and
here, Tati * and heart
that had
the mirror,
depend on where you're reading.
So here's
the Here's the
Here's the
sorry. Here's the
And there's examples coming at the bottom,
but you wanna remember this. The symbiotic the
symbolic
is talking about it can also be talking
about a female. It's not only the male,
but this 3rd person,
pronoun.
So
Kabala say, Kenin,
what now?
So say that Imam has shot to be,
he explains sort of what I just said
to you here.
That before a, you're not gonna observe what
we call
and before
Yeah. They're being uploaded because we had to
migrate to a new
host and new web page. It's a long
story what happened to us about building the
app,
but we were
unfortunately, somebody,
got paid and didn't do their job. So
we had to go back and rebuild.
So some of those videos, my apologies, still
may not be uploaded uploaded, but we're doing
our best,
to get them to you.
However, when this hat comes in front of
a a vowed letter,
a vow letter, and that's why it says,
when this hat comes in front of a
vowed letter,
they agree you read it with
There should be and I don't have the
in my keyboard, so I couldn't write it.
But
So here you see these has
and because the letter after them has a
vowel and I can help you if you
need help with this, inshallah,
to make it simple for you.
So here's a fatha.
Here's a
and here's a,
and each of these has
because they come and the letter after them
has a vowel,
we're going to read them.
You'd
find a little looking wow right
interesting looking sort of yeah.
You're gonna see a wow. This is called
of
the mirror.
What
is the rule? Everything that we just taught
you, if it comes in front of a
cocoon, you don't do that. You just read
it short, like here,
Tahiti * and
However, when it's followed by a letter that
has a vow, we're going to observe
We'll get to that in the future.
However,
there's always exceptions to the rules, and that's
what makes the different
sometimes unique.
Because, for example, on things like this, they
have their own,
rules, although they intersect with other, Quran.
He says
I'll put it again for you, and I'll
put the translation. Sorry. I put it here,
but I put it here again so you
can see it.
However, there are some exceptions to this rule.
Some exceptions to what rule?
Exceptions to win the,
Dimir, which I prefer calling it
instead of but I'm nobody.
When it comes in front of
a letter, which is,
you read it.
That's the, that's the normal rule. That's the
default,
But there's always exceptions.
The equally hookman is stiff now.
Every ruling has its exceptions.
So for example, in Surah, Ari Imran, the
word you add the
in two places.
If we look at it in Surah, Ari
Imran,
And actually, this verse should be here. My
apologies.
And this verse should be here.
So if we look at it, you see
here's
Abdamir,
and after it is,
wow, SubhanAllah,
a,
Hamz.
So there's actually a salah and a Cobra,
but because
Palin is narrating, and this is one of
the things that I want you to remember,
If the
had,
if the some of the minds as he
lights claimed, and we see now some people
claiming,
increases all in. And we need to be
also
we can be firm, but we also need
to be fair when we criticize people also.
Because the strong opinion is that these kind
of things are not things that we make
tuck fear of people over, man, because these
are things that are like, look how you're
learning them now.
This is not something that's known to everybody.
So we have to be patient when we
teach people.
But here we see Imam Al Qaloon.
He goes against
the standard rule,
which he observes. In other words,
with other words in the Quran, as we
saw earlier,
for,
with Shilla,
but here's SubhanAllah
with this word, only this word
and the others that we're going to mention,
there's no Scylla. So that means this is
not his ishdihad, but he's following
the way that it was taught to him.
He's following
a sonnet,
and narration of the Koran.
And now you can see something very awesome
with one word,
even with one little word and something like
Salah.
He observes that narration.
Everybody understand what I just said. If if
if it was left to is, do you
have?
Then every time we saw this rule, there
would be still a Kubra or Suhara.
But SubhanAllah actually the opposite you're seeing
that it's going against that logic,
That there are times when we're not going
to observe that rule
because this is how it was narrated from
Imam Nafi
back to say, no, Zayd, it's
back to say, no, he
was a, he was settlement other of Sahaba
who,
lived in, in Medina.
So you can see something in here,
the
dedication
and precision
is sticking to the rule. Of course, if
you went against how it was authentically narrated,
then that will be a problem. That will
be a kira'ah,
which would be shared there. Right? Because he's
not
those authentic narrations back to Imam Manafi through
Qalun
don't have that in in their narration.
But we need to be
we need to be patient with people. It's
a very difficult time, and illiteracy is rampant.
So when we are harsh on people that
may be struggling with their religious literacy, we
may actually be encouraging and inflaming
that religious literacy.
Teach the people. To be a teacher, you
have to love the people, man. You have
to be patient with the people.
So he says to you, look, you add
the he lake. He doesn't say you add
the he
lake. There's no
man
in
men who be
like, it's not he
and
he is without
select
the mirror.
The next rule, and this is, should be
stroked Lisa. My apologies.
Is.
Sorry. This is.
I got ahead of myself.
So no T he minha. Well, may you
read it?
Here we see and
after is a letter which has a vowel.
Here is, again, the word
with
and the letter with a vowel, but there's
no.
It's going against the rule.
It's going against the rule.
Does every everybody understand what I'm talking about,
or do I need to pull back and
reexplain anything? Don't be shy.
And,
if you have anything to add also, please.
But we wanna keep it super easy for
people in the beginning.
But
I just wanna make sure
that everyone understands.
That's my goal.
And I wanna encourage you to use Abdulrahman
in the comments box as a resource as
well.
He's like a really a blessing. It's a
blessing to have him here.
So
the rule, again, is called the or.
Okay?
And that represents
a third person male or female.
So
it also can mean it.
Beneath it are rivers.
The who teach him
those, what
be he, his Lord. So this
it's called a hat of the mirror because
why I told you it represents
here or who
are here. It will be hard to read
like that. Tati here.
It'd be very difficult. La'alima who and who
are Ladina. It will be very hard to
read like that. It
would be very hard to read like that.
So this is called
It has a very important chapter
in Tajweed, and it's it's not that complicated.
Imam Ashal to be mentions in this 3rd
or 4th chapter in the Ulsul,
but it's, like, really nice.
And so we said that if it comes
in front of a word, which is sukoon,
we don't have to worry about anything.
The only time we're paying attention to it
is when it comes in front of a
letter, excuse me, a letter with cocoon or
a letter with a vowel. A matter who
for
he was,
he who
we said, as Satan shout to be Rahim
says, Wama,
I need that anytime you find her a
Bamere and what comes after it has,
a vow.
Then we said that there are some exceptions
to this rule.
And the first we gave is insult to
Ali Imran, just this verse
with this word,
you, a,
I mean, home men in men who be
the
lake. So don't, we don't read it like
half you a
d, you a d, he
or even Kathir, you a
you a
here without
Scylla.
The second word that we mentioned also appears
twice in one verse and it's new teehee.
So they say new
teehee minha.
That's half
or others.
The 3rd,
no in
So here we see.
We
don't say
we don't inshallah.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's it's gonna be taken
care of in the most half, but again,
I wanna teach you the rules. Right? So
of course, like if you look in the
most half, you don't have to worry. So
don't, don't freak out, but you wanna be
aware of the rules inshallah. You wanna be
aware of the rules and it's only like,
I think 5 of them. So it's not
that many.
The next is in
here
here
in half
even
also I mentioned always,
but here,
the next one is shot a lot. I'm
gonna not let you,
see the word,
but who can see where is
or
in this verse
without looking at their notes? Who wants to
tell us where's the rule at?
Nice. But you can you good. I'm not
a saying before the fact.
Who else wants to
chime in? If somebody would like to read
it,
you're also, I'm more than happy to listen
to you reading inshallah.
Nice Azeem
because there's
the mirror and there's fat fat as.
So we say
We're not saying
We're saying
not he,
he without salah,
without salah,
there is a word which there is a
difference of opinion over a hundred that in
our
and that difference, actually, I don't like to
say difference. I like to say there's a
permission.
How the
You can read it 2 ways.
Imam
narrates from verse 75 from the
word yet.
He yet.
He moved me in
without.
We're gonna read it without,
but there's, there's an allowance
to say, so if you hear somebody read
that away, you don't need to freak out
because it's allowed on Qadom, but the way
that I'm teaching you and in the future,
even not in this semester,
all that will sort of come clear to
you that you're learning well in Tariq. And
those of you who learned has with me,
then you sort of know where this is
headed.
Right? So he says,
same.
So in is written that this, these are
prints from the Musa
that I posted for you guys. That's why
I posted it for you. So
the print that you see here, I cut
and pasted it from
that actual most half.
So that way, like, we're on the same
page.
So you don't have any problems to worry
about.
So
what
may other
authentic narrations of
Either way is fine.
And then it look like subhanallah,
just to review again, the six examples that
I gave you, 5 of them are agreed
upon. One of them is different.
We're talking about the
and
we agreed that if it comes, if it's
followed by a letter with Suqun, we don't
have to worry about anything,
but when it's followed by a letter with
a vow, whether it's
Hamza,
any Alif with Hamza
or any other letter.
You know, there's ways to read it that
we're gonna that we already learned. So we
already learned that before,
but has
5 exceptions to that rule. The first we
said, and I'll put the verses in the
numbers as well. I'm still, as I said,
like, I'm also rushing to finish this text
for you guys as fast as I can.
So please forgive me,
sometimes for any mistakes or shortcomings.
I'm usually doing this late at night holding
a baby.
So you
men who be
the, so we don't say
you. Okay.
And so to Ani run also the word
new T.
So here, new T he mean, you
read it the web, but,
the word
in sort of Arimon, call Lou ROG. He
wa
don't say ROG. He wa
and sort of nor as, Azim
picked it out. My sha Allah yet, he
felt all,
he got home on.
And then finally we said, there's this difference
of opinion on this verse in
verse number 75, I believe.
And then look how amazing our scholars are,
men,
she had Doba.
He wrote a poem about Kalu and he
even put these examples in the poem.
Well,
He says,
meaning don't don't don't read it.
You
And then he pitches the other words. The
reason that I hope like, and forgive me,
this is like my, my
focus, my academic focus was in Sharia,
but my love was in Arabic and Clara
at. And the only reason that I didn't
go into those fields in as far as
they said like people in America, they're not
gonna be ready for Arabic and Clara at.
So I was sent a quote to Sharia,
but this actually is really my passion.
And
SubhanAllah
look like one of the things when you
study like this inshallah, I hope you can
take some benefit.
And it's like, you have scholars that wrote
poems about this.
So you, you, you will be able to
learn
that this is not something haphazard,
right? This is not something sloppy
that as they present our Ooma in these
really negative ways,
hopefully you'll find some like,
encouragement and enthusiasm
And look, even he says, what the T
he thought he left on
that with yet T in PAH, there's a.
So, like,
man, everything that we just learned, he put
it in a poem.
It's, like, really beautiful.
I hope I hope I get excited about
this stuff. I'm a nerd
when it comes to this stuff, but I
hope
all
of us were humble in front of the
book of Allah
There are certain words,
certain times where Imam Qalun, in the way
that we're learning, he reads the hat with
a kesra.
So for example, insult a CAF and Sani,
there should be a, yeah. Here,
1,
and of and
the second insult,
So here you can see.
But
in
and who?
He writes this, he says, why have Casper
and Sunny? He
have seen him and
look what she did.
Even in his poem, he knows the differences
between.
So he says, well, how can we answer
any? So the hat and, and sunny
and sunny, he insult the calf. Excuse me,
make a Casa
bloomer. You have see him, but half
with
the,
that's a discussion we'll talk about in the
future, but if you connect it,
you read it like that.
Finally, the word fee, he Moana, because we
know there's some differences in this reading
between
and the others.
Always makes
always
said it in the house. Actually, he reads
the same as in this one verse and
short,
short,
for pan
Well, yeah, Lou, the fee he, he, Mohena,
where it's in the imam.
He reads it with Casa not was.
He doesn't really like even.
This is column sprint.
So we're gonna stop here. But before we
stop, I wanna review everything that we went
over,
just to make sure
who yeah, exactly. Omar. And that's one of
the reasons, like, I find personally
when people study the is very restorative
because the Quran is now being like
attacked. The Ummah of the process is being
attacked.
Like there's so many things happening to us.
We hear so much negativity about ourselves
that Subhan Allah like it can, it can,
it can take us over.
So when you, like you study like this
sort of basic way, but it, my, my
hope in this,
this moment is to I'm trying my best
to keep it like
as clear as possible for you.
And at the same time to expose you
to like,
this is amazing, man. Our Uma is amazing.
Uma.
I look at their love of the Quran.
Right? And I told you, I think I
told you all, the mom shout to be,
he was blind.
So imam shout to me. Can't even write.
He never saw the poem that Allah blessed
him to, to construct.
He dictated it to people
Like, so that's incredible, man. More than a
1,000 lights.
And he dictated it to people,
Rahim, but anyways, let's stay focused.
So today, we took 2 very important rules.
The first, what we took is super easy,
the plural meaning. We read it just like
house. Although you need to be aware that
in the strong of,
Abi Nasheed, as I mentioned earlier,
in the way that we're reading it, we're
reading
and
2.
And
say
Sheikh says,
Here's a point.
You're allowed to do either or. No problem.
And then we gave some examples of that.
And then we took what's called a
and don't don't be shy to reach out
to me and contact me also if you
guys wanna start study groups with each other.
Like, it's good, man, to help each other
out
to work together
so that you can, like,
continually revisit.
Knowledge comes with visits. Like, the more you
visit it, the more it becomes stronger. So
we said,
Right? The which represents he or she or
it.
Is. Right? So.
It's like,
like, very easy,
very simple, very beautiful.
And we said that whenever it comes
and a sukud is after it, you don't
have to worry about
anything.
This is the rule.
You don't make the of the
and see say to be terminology.
How about that second?
For us, we say after after it comes
to cook.
But everyone makes the
if the letter after it
has,
a
a vow. Excuse me. But then we mentioned
that there are 6 exceptions to this rule,
in the reading of.
So you add the new teehee,
nosleehee
R
g is to
and yet
and then we said there's a difference
in.
Yet. And we mentioned the poem of Sheikha
Doba, who died in 1961.
He
was the teacher of our teacher
teachers. He died in 1961.
He was born around 18/86.
And here we are. They did this part.
But it did this part.
So now what we're gonna do, we have
a few minutes.
For those people who need to go, they
can go. But we wanna take some time
for people
to have
an opportunity
to,
read. And, again, just to let everyone know,
the print that we're looking at in the
document
sharing with you is. This is from the.
So that's not the.
That's the.
So is there anyone, first of all, when
we hear people read, at least we start
with Surat Al Fatiha.
You know, because
Surat Al Fatiha is the foundation. So we'll
listen to people today, read
who's interested, and then
we'll stop
and continue,
next week. And we're going to try to
think about in September
adding another day.
So who would like to start out by
reading?
With
So now you're reading with so make sure
Basically
I can I can try, sir?
Please go ahead.
Man. Imagine, like,
for the rest of however long these classes
last, you'll be the first student to ever
read Al Fatiha.
SubhanAllah. So you get all the edger of
people who follow you.
That was really nice. Thank you. And, of
course, if you're reading with the other way,
you can say,
but we're not reading that way.
Who else would like to start? We wanna
hear somebody
read
through. Who else is ready?
I'll have a go, Shay.
Please. Omar, go ahead.
So good. Nusayba, I think you wanted to
try. That was so good.
Thank you, bro. That was excellent. Thank you
for taking the time to read.
Starting to read
with. Yes. No say, but please go ahead.
That was great.
Thank you so much, Nusayba, for reading it.
That was good. Azim, I think you haven't
read yet, have you? Not
yet.
Man. That was great. That was very nice.
Amira.
That was really great.
Adi
Anyone else would like to read, before we,
close out with any questions?
That was great. You guys did wonderful. Today.
How's everybody feeling? Any,
discomfort, or is everything
so far so good,
clear, and easy to understand.
Please,
Ahmed, go ahead.
That was really nice.
Would anyone else like to try before we
let everybody go, or are there any questions
or anything that needs to be clarified for
people?
I think someone already put up some things
in the Google classroom about starting,
some study groups, I think, which are very
important to do.
So I encourage you guys to do that,
and I want you to do that on
your own.
I want you guys to scale. Like, I
don't want to have to be involved in
everything.
And may Allah increase you,
and raise you and make us from the
people of the Quran.
Always a pleasure seeing you guys.
And encourage people if you can on if
you're enjoying this class, like, help us scale
at Swiss.
Write something positive about your experience.
Share the link to SWISS and encourage people
to enroll. Like, that really helps us do
the work that we do
trying to make
Islamic studies accessible and affordable,
but at the same time,
properly guided or prop with proper instructors.
And we have a lot of good things
coming in the fall, Inshallah, as we continue
to scale. So you you know, writing reviews
on the app page is very good for
us, but also
encouraging people around you to subscribe and sign
up and bring a friend,
Inshallah.
