Allah subhanahu wa'amala said in surah early in
Iran,
and they reflect on the creation of the
heavens and the earth.
This reflection
brings about
a conclusion.
And the conclusion
brings about 3 important points about the reality
of existence.
And Allah mentions that in the next
words,
The result of these reflections
is 3 points, number 1,
we have a lord who has created
everything. Number 2,
that this world has a purpose.
Oh, our lord,
You did not
create
this without a purpose.
And the third point,
we have a creator.
We have a purpose. And the third point,
there's accountability.
And so save us from the hellfire. The
fire shows that there's accountability.
So we have a purpose in this life.
And so if
an atheist
asks
you and says prove to me
God exists,
now I know there's ways to debate
an atheist, there's ways to go into philosophy,
but tonight I want to give you a
quick and fast and short way to answer
an atheist and just circumvent
those hours of discussion.
So if an atheist says prove to me
God exists,
all you have to say is prove to
me
this conversation
is real.
How do I know?
We're not dreaming right now.
How do I know this is not a
hallucination? How do I know you're not
in my imagination?
Prove to me that this conversation is real.
And there is no way
that the atheist can prove that the conversation
that we're having is real.
He can't prove that it's real.
Nor can he prove that there's no alien
drawing our strings and everything is just,
a drama and a play. He can't prove
it.
And by chance,
if an atheist does come with some proof,
then your follow-up should be,
prove to me
that the proof you used is proof.
How do we know what is proof?
What qualifies that to be proof?
And some of you may have seen this,
understood this by now,
for him to prove what is proof, you
need to define what proof is first, but
you can't do that because you need proof
to define proof.
So there's no way an atheist
can answer this question.
And this stems this
stems from the verse of Allah Subhanahu where
he said,
Is there any doubt about Allah?
The creator of the heavens and the earth.
And so such a person,
if they doubt the existence of Allah, if
they doubt Allah,
then they must
doubt
reality. There's no way
to explain and prove that this world is
real, that you and I are not cartoon
characters stuck
in a computer.
There's no way to prove that.
If we're going to doubt the existence of
Allah, we're going to doubt our own reality
and our own existence.
The only way to lift
the doubt
about our reality and our existence,
is to lift the doubt about Allah, our
creator.
Once we
have recognized a creator, now we have an
objective source who has defined for us that
we are real, we are living, there are
standards,
And this is found in Surah Al Imran,
because if you remember, we talked about that
this Surah begins with a formula for interpretation
with the,
with the definite
verses
and the multiple
meaning verses,
versus the polysemic.
And so
there's multiple meanings to our existence
that's open for everyone to interpret. Maybe it's
a dream. Maybe it's an imagination. Maybe,
this is all fake. We don't know. So
there's multiple
meanings. And the only way these multiple meanings
can be sorted out,
if we go to an objective source,
and that is the Quran,
and that is why Allah says,
this is a book whose verses are made
objective,
definite, and clear. So
this life is, can be full of theories
and multiple interpretations.
The only way to narrow it down and
figure out which one is right is to
go to an objective,
verifiable,
credible source, which is the book of Allah,
which then defines for us our existence.
Otherwise, no one can explain
or prove
that we exist. So doubt in the creator
makes a person doubt reality,
and there's no way to prove
that that conversation
is real. If the person says, well, it's
a no brainer,
it's a real conversation that we're having,
then the follow-up is, exactly, it's a no
brainer
that Allah exists.
And this is why in the Quran, Allah
does not
discuss atheism too much, because it's a no
brainer.
And this is why in that ayah, when
Allah says,
there's a word missing.
And they reflect on the creation of the
heavens and the earth,
the word that's supposed to be next
is
and they say,
why our lord, you have not created this
without purpose.
And they say, because it's a no brainer,
that the reflection, there is a direct link
between the reflections
and the result. There is no interruption,
not even the words
because it's so clear, it's such a no
brainer. May Allah,
give us the tawfiq,
to understand.
