Why do some call it and others call

it?

Tezquia is not verifiable.

So the expert in Tezquia would be praising

himself and making an unverifiable

claim because purification of the heart is not

something we can see, so we can't verify

it. As opposed to Hafiz Qur'an, it's verifiable.

You can recite right in front of us.

Faqih, the way you answer questions, what you

say, what you write, it's verifiable knowledge. Whereas

anything that has to do with the inside,

you're making the biggest claim. Are you claiming

that you're purified?

So these people then wanted to take something

more humble,

not to make a claim, but to say

that this is what we're trying to be

like. And so at the time, they used

to wear wool, and so they said the

people of wool. And that's what the Sufi

comes from, and tasawaf comes from that. Those

ascetic people who went without the dunya and

turned their life to Allah, who were known

to wear the cheapest material at the time,

which was wool.
