As-salāmu ʿalaykum.
Wa ʿalaykum ṣ-ṣalātu wa s-salāmu.
How are you, Shaykh?
Fine, al-ḥamdu liLlāh, al-ḥamdu liLlāh.
Inshā'Allah, we'll get started with the lesson.
Inshā'Allah.
Al-ḥamdu liLlāhi rabbil-'ālamīn, wa ṣ-ṣalātu wa
s-salāmu ʿalá Rasūlu l-Karīm, wa ʿalá
ʿālihi wa s-saḥbihi ajma'īn, amadu ʿalā.
As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh.
Dear respected students, may Allah bless you for
your attendance.
This will be the last session of the
series of Virtues of Islām by Muḥammad ibn
ʿAbd al-Wahāb.
Just a quick reminder, please take notes, listen
attentively, and hand your questions over to myself
or the co-host throughout the course of
the lesson.
With that said, I'll hand it back to
the Shaykh to start the lesson.
Barak Allāhu fīkum wa jazākum Allāhu khayrun.
As-salāmu ʿalaykum.
Wa ʿalaykum ṣ-ṣalātu wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh.
Bismillāhi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm.
Bi-Llāhi
r
-Rahmāni r-Rahīm.
Bi-Llāhi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm.
Wa kulla wa lālatīn fī n-nār, an
-nabād, madī'ah, brothers and sisters in Islām.
To continue, and because there was a small
portion we didn't cover, so
let us finish it.
And though we, in the last session, we
mentioned it, but without extensive elaboration, which is
the bid'ah.
Yes, the bid'ah.
And before we delve into this topic, my
dear brothers and sisters, if the Muslim believes
that the Deen of an Islām is perfect
and complete, ask any Muslim, is the
religion and the Deen of an Islām perfect
or imperfect, complete or incomplete?
Immediately, he or she will tell you, no,
complete and perfect.
And maybe some of them, they will quote
the āyah.
اليوم أكملت لكم دينكم وأتممت عليكم نعمتي ورضيت
لكم الإسلام دينا Surah Al-Maidah, Allah Subhanu
wa Ta'ala mentioned اليوم أكملت لكم دينكم
I perfected your Deen and completed my blessings,
my bounties, my favours upon you ورضيت لكم
الإسلام دينا And I have chosen Al-Islām
as a way of life, way of salvation
for you.
Having said this, that every Muslim would say
this, yet you will find many Muslims, they
act to the opposite, to the contrary.
Do they do that?
Intentionally?
Of course not.
No Muslim will intend to go against what
Allah Subhanu wa Ta'ala said intentionally.
Many Muslims, they do these things out of
ignorance or misunderstanding.
The Deen is perfect, complete.
And because it is complete, logically, it will
not accept any addition to it because it
is complete.
Because what accepts addition is the incomplete.
That's why there is no room in Islam
to add anything to the Deen, neither to
the Qur'an nor to the Sunnah.
Because it is perfect.
That's why the Prophet, peace be upon him,
he said مَنْ أَحْدَثَ فِي أَمْرِنَ هَٰذَا مَا
لَيْسَ مِنُهُ فَهُوَ رَجًّا Whoever invents, innovates in
our matter, in our Deen, anything that is
not part of it, it will be rejected.
It will not be accepted.
Allah will not accept it.
Because Allah did not prescribe it for you
through His Prophets, Allah said.
Because we have to keep in mind.
That Allah created us to worship Him.
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونَ I created
jinn and mankind only to worship me.
But on His own terms, not on ours.
So He wanted us, He wants us to
worship Him in a particular way.
And that way is the way His Beloved
Prophet and Chosen Prophet ﷺ worshipped Him.
So he is the role model for the
Muslims to follow.
And he is teaching his companions how to
worship Allah.
Jibreel taught him and he taught his companions.
Jibreel came and showed him how to perform
the wudu, glution.
Jibreel came and taught him how to pray.
Jibreel came ﷺ and taught him the timing
and the different times of the prayers.
And he taught his companions what Jibreel ﷺ
taught him ﷺ.
This is the essence of our deen, that
Allah taught His Prophet ﷺ and His Prophet
ﷺ taught his companions and his companions, they
conveyed and transmitted what they learned from their
Prophet ﷺ.
So every Muslim should do the same thing.
How the Prophet ﷺ worshipped Allah, how the
companions worshipped Allah, he should follow them.
He should not invent any method or way
that differs from their way.
Because if you tread upon a path different
than the path of the Prophet ﷺ and
you are not following his footsteps and the
companions' footsteps, then definitely you will go astray.
You will go astray.
And the Prophet ﷺ, he warned us against
that evil drifting and deviating and deviating from
the straight path.
When he drew the straight line and then
he drew short lines on both sides of
this long straight line.
And then he read
He said, this is my straight path, follow
it.
And do not follow the short lines, the
shortcuts.
Because lest they lead you astray.
Then he added ﷺ This is the straight
path and these short lines are سُبُلَ فَتَفَضَقَ
These are the ways of deception, the ways
of misguidance.
The ways that if you tread on them,
they will lead you astray.
At the entrance of each branch, these
ways is the shaitan calling to the hellfire.
So if you are looking for salvation, for
deliverance, for reaching your destination safely, keep yourself
treading on that long, straight, fine, straight path.
Follow the footsteps of your Prophet ﷺ.
Then and only then you will reach your
destination.
But if you go to other ways, you
will never reach.
You will land, may Allah save all of
us, you will land in the hellfire.
So my dear brothers and sisters, keep in
mind that if you want salvation, if you
want to be delivered and saved, follow.
The footsteps of your Prophet ﷺ.
Because that's what Allah commanded us.
وَمَا آتَاكُمْ الرَّسُولُ فَخُذُوهُ وَمَا نَهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ And
whatever the Prophet ﷺ gives you, take it.
And whatever he forbids you, abstain from it.
This is what you have to do.
My Prophet ﷺ commanded me to do this.
I do it.
He forbade me not to do it.
I abstain from doing such things.
Because this deen is deen ittiba' la deen
ibtida'.
Our deen is a deen of strict adherence
to the revelation.
So Allah said, the Prophet ﷺ said to
the Qur'an, there's no room for invention
and innovations in the deen, in the matters
of deen.
Do not innovate in the deen.
Deen is perfect, complete.
We leave it as is.
Sorry?
No problem, Sheikh.
Continue, please.
The ulama, rahimahumullah, they mentioned the conditions that
we should fulfill.
I hope, my dear brothers and sisters, that
you are taking notes.
We have covered many books so far.
And I forwarded them to you today so
that you keep revising.
So you have the book with you and
you have the explanation of it.
So you can listen to the explanation and
you revise.
Because without revision and without studying
what you have learnt and revisit what you
have learnt, you will be just wiped away
from your memory.
But if you want to retain the ilm
and the knowledge in your mind, keep revising.
And I'll give you a hint with your
family members, teach what you have learnt.
Teach to your family members what you've studied
so far, what you learnt.
Because this is the secret of retaining the
ilm, teaching it, imparting it.
So when you teach it, when you teach
what you learn, you will understand it more.
This is the beauty about the ilm.
When you give it, it increases and your
understanding is enhanced.
So I encourage all of you to do
that.
So the scholars, rahimahumullah, they mentioned the condition
for the amal to be accepted by Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Number one, the tawheed, the iman.
No iman, no tawheed, Allah will not accept
this amal, this deed you are doing.
All your deeds will not be accepted if
there is no tawheed, because if you don't
have the tawheed, you will have the opposite
of the tawheed, which is the shirk.
And the shirk spoils and nullifies everything.
Allah is telling His own Prophet ﷺ.
Most certainly it was revealed to you and
those who preceded you.
If you commit shirk, if you associate with
Allah any partner, anyone, your
deeds, all your deeds will be nullified, will
be spoiled, will be rejected, will be in
vain, will be filthy rags, all your deeds.
Rather, you should worship only Allah and be
from those who are grateful to Allah.
Now the question, Allah address His Prophet in
person, in His person.
If you commit shirk, and we know, without
any shred of doubt, that the prophets and
messengers are infallible, ma'soomeen, they will never commit
shirk.
So why did Allah address His Prophet in
person, addressing him, if you commit shirk?
The ulamas, they say, Allah is addressing us
in the person of His Prophet.
Allah is telling us, imagine my Prophet, commit
shirk, this is what will happen to him,
though he is protected and that cannot happen.
But this is, Allah is addressing us, the
Muslims, to avoid the shirk.
Imagine, Ibrahim, alayhis salaam, was crying and praying
to Allah to save him and his progeny,
children, offspring, from worshipping the idols.
He was afraid of worshipping idols, Ibrahim himself,
and he feared that for his own progeny,
Rabbi Junaib Ibn Wabaniyya and Na'bud al
-Aslam, O Allah, save me and my progeny,
my offspring, from worshipping the idols.
And this is the father of the prophets,
he feared the shirk.
How about us?
We don't fear shirk.
So that's why.
Because the tawheed, my dear brothers and sisters,
when you actualize it in your life, it
cleanses, it purifies all the dirt.
Because you don't.
This heart is only linked to Allah.
This heart turns only to Allah.
The connection with the Creator does not rely
on anyone.
وَعَلَى اللَّهِ عَبَنَ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلُوا۟ Put your trust.
Rely.
If you are mu'mineen, if you are true
believers.
So the tawheed makes you a true servant
of Allah.
When you actualize the tawheed in your life,
you know no one can harm you except
something Allah ordained, Allah decreed.
No one can help you except something Allah
decreed for you.
So you are always looking up, relying on
Allah because everything is in Allah's hand.
Human beings are helpless.
Human beings are only tools.
Allah moves them.
Allah uses the human beings to serve each
other, to help each other.
Who moves them?
Allah.
That's it.
So when you actualize the tawheed, you know
whom you should ask, whom you should rely
upon, whom you should call when you are
in need.
وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمَ دُعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ Your Lord said,
call upon Me and I will answer your
supplications.
I will respond.
أَمَّ يُجِيبْ دَعْوَةِ الْمُطَّرِ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكْشِفْ أَيْلَهُمْ
عَلَّىٰهُ Who is, who is He?
Who is that that removes the distress and
answers the call of the one who is
in dire need and removes the harm?
Is there any deity that deserves to be
associated with them?
So this is the fruit of the tawheed,
the sweetness of the tawheed.
You rely on Allah.
You don't ask anyone but Allah.
When you ask us Allah, you don't ask
anyone.
The Prophet ﷺ used to tell his companions,
do not ask people, do not ask them,
ask Allah.
So much so that a companion will be
on top of his camel or horse, on
the back of his camel, and his whip
is dropped, fell down.
He will not ask anyone to pick it
and give it to him.
He will dismount, he will come down and
take it.
Their hearts were always with Allah.
If one of them, his shoe lace got
broken, severed, cut, he would raise his hands
immediately to Allah to help him to fix
it.
So they are there, this is what they
were living.
Allah is close to me.
He is my helper.
I always ask him, Iyaka na'budu, Iyaka
na'budu, wa iyaka nasta'i, you alone
we worship and you alone we ask for
help.
That was the status of the companions, the
condition, the situation of the Sahaba, always.
And no wonder when they said, when the
Prophet ﷺ is talking to us about the
Hellfire, the Jannah and the Now, Heaven and
Hellfire, we feel that we are there.
He is talking about the Jannah, we feel
we are in the Jannah, because the
hearts are clean, connected with the Creator.
So the first condition of salvation is Juhid.
And unfortunately, this condition, many Muslims, they didn't
fulfil.
Yes, you are guided.
Go and travel across the Islamic world and
you will see with your own eyes that
paganism, idolatry, okay, are being
revived.
Saints are worshipped.
Tombs are sanctified.
Muslims being built and constructed on the graves
of whom they call holy men, awliya.
Sacrifices are offered to the dead.
Supplications are made to them, asking them, I
need your help.
And maybe he is not next to the
grave.
He is overseas, thousands of miles away.
And when he is in trouble, O Abd
al-Qadir Gilani, and he believes that he
will be helped, he will be helped.
Yesterday, I saw a clip of a Sufi
man, may Allah guide him, very old, advanced
in age.
He mentioned a story about Sheikh Abd al
-Qadir Gilani, and he is saying, I am
the descendant of Sheikh Abd al-Qadir Gilani.
And he said his father was travelling, he,
okay, I don't want to mention the country
because some people are very sensitive.
They were travelling to Medina in those days
from the back of camel.
And of course, the journey was tough.
And he got hurt and he could not
continue.
So in order not to hinder the caravan
from continuing, he said, leave me here.
Okay, you go, you go, you travel.
Of course, they go to Medina, then they
go to Had.
So they left him.
He is saying now, he is mentioning his
father, that his father said, he called one
of the saints, Sayyid Badawi.
This Sayyid Badawi, they are saying he is,
he has a big mausoleum in Egypt.
In Algiza or Tanta, I think Tanta, somewhere,
a place in Egypt.
So he said, oh, Sayyid Badawi, help me.
So now he is calling the dead person.
Because the Sufis, they believe, when I say
the Sufis, I mean those who are deviant.
Not those who are saying our Sufism and
our Tasawwuf is only the suluk and the
purification of the soul and we abide by
Kitab and Sunnah.
They say, we are not talking about you.
Those who are talking about those who they
worship, the saints, they ask the dead.
So he said, oh, Sayyid Badawi, help me.
And he said, in no time, there was
this man on the back of his camel
stopping next to him, appeared from nowhere and
said, get up.
And he placed him behind him on the
back of the camel.
And they continued their journey and they arrived
in Medina and he told him, this is
the mosque of the Prophet or the grave
of the Prophet ﷺ.
And then he told him, you called Sayyid
Badawi when I am your grandfather.
Why didn't you ask me?
I am Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani.
You can't see it on the YouTube.
Subhanallah, may Allah guide them.
May Allah guide them.
Ameen, Ya Rabb.
Abdul Qadir Jilani, he left his grave in
Iraq and came to the desert on the
back of the camel.
So who came to him?
Definitely Shaytan.
The one who helped him is Shaytan.
No doubt, Shaytan.
Not Shaykh Abdul Qadir Rahimahullah.
Shaykh Abdul Qadir Rahimahullah is a muwhid, a
humble scholar.
Whenever Shaykh al-Islam ibn Taymiyyah mentions him,
he praises him.
He would praise him.
One night, Shaykh Abdul Qadir, I mentioned this
story many times.
One night he was praying tahajjud and all
of a sudden the loom was illumined, lit
up, and a voice was heard.
Oh, Abdul Qadir Jilani, I am Allah.
No need to worship me anymore.
Shaykh Abdul Qadir Rahimahullah was alim.
So he realized that was Shaytan.
So he said, by Allah.
Are you Allah?
No answer came back.
No answer.
And that light disappeared.
Then the voice came again.
Oh, Abdul Qadir, you escaped.
I couldn't fool you.
I fooled many people by this trick.
And they thought that Allah was talking to
them, etc.
And I asked you many times to read
the beautiful book by Shaykh al-Islam ibn
Taymiyyah, Al-Furqan Bayna Awliya' Rahman, Awliya' Shaytan.
The criterion between Allah's friends and the devil's
friends.
Read it to know the tricks of the
Shaytan.
And read also Talbis Iblis by Ibn Dawud,
the deception of Shaytan.
What the Shaytan did to the Sufis and
how he misled them.
So the Tawheed, my dear brothers and sisters,
condition number one.
As I said, many Muslims, may Allah guide
them.
This moment, we are talking, asking other than
Allah.
Circumambulating, going around the graves of the saints,
making Tawaf, making Tawaf.
I think I mentioned this before, a long
time ago.
When I was making Tawaf, an old lady
asked me, my son, who is buried here?
She thought that the Kaaba was a grave.
So if you want salvation, if you want
Allah to be pleased with you, if you
want your home to be the Jannah, number
one, Tawheed.
No shirk.
You don't ask the dead.
You don't call them.
As a matter of fact, they are in
need of you.
They need you to make Dua for them,
not that you ask them for help, to
help you.
So condition number one is the Tawheed, which
is the opposite of shirk.
Condition number two, after actualizing the Tawheed, the
Ikhlas.
Sincerity, you worship Allah sincerely.
The motive is to please Allah and Allah
alone and nobody else.
That should be the motive.
No, you should not do anything, any deed,
and you associate others.
Your Niya, your intention has to be pure
for the sake of Allah.
You have to keep checking yourself.
Am I doing it for Allah?
Am I doing it for the sake of
Allah?
So that's why we need to keep checking
our hearts and rectifying our intention.
So first condition, Tawheed.
The opposite of it is the shirk, because
if you commit shirk, bye-bye.
Allah will not look into any of your
good deeds.
The kuffar in the dunya, they do good
deeds.
But because of the shirk, Allah said, وَقَدِمْنَا
إِلَىٰ مَا عَمِلُوا مِنْ عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ هَبَعًا مَنْثُورًا
And we will regard what they have done
of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.
Allah will not accept that.
So Tawheed, Ikhlas, sincerity, that you are doing
things for the sake of Allah and Allah
only and no one else.
Always, when we want to do something, we
renew the niyyah.
You see, my dear brothers and sisters, with
this intention, the niyyah, you can reach the
high levels in the Jannah with little deeds,
little deeds.
The Prophet, he said one day to his
companions who were with him in the Jihad,
he told them, by Allah, they are brothers,
your brothers, whom we left behind in Medina.
They are with us.
No mountain you ascended, no valley you crossed,
except they are with you, sharing with you
the same reward.
They are in Medina, but they are, the
Malaikah are writing for them, your deeds, what
you are doing, the deeds you are, the
rewards you are receiving, they are receiving as
well, because they were held, حَبَسَهُمْ الْعُذْرِ they
were held behind due to some circumstances, their
reasons.
Either they are sick or they are poor,
they don't have the means to buy a
mount and to buy the weapons, sword, etc.
So they, as Allah described them, they would
come to the Prophet, and ask him to
take them with him, and he said, I
don't have mounts for you, I don't have
horses, I don't have camels, cannot take you,
I don't have the means to take you
along with me.
As the Qur'an mentioned, imagine, visualize this
scene, Sahaba are coming, oh Prophet, we want
to go to Jihad, take us with you,
I cannot.
So they turn, they turn their faces, so
no one was seeing them, but Allah was
seeing them.
They turn, and their eyes are welling up,
welling up, with tears, tears, why?
Because they didn't have the means.
So Allah, Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A
'la, tells his angels, fight for them, the
reward the Mujahideen are getting.
So with your niyyah, you reach the high
level of Jihad.
With your niyyah, you can be with the
shuhada, the martyrs.
The Prophet ﷺ said, in Sahih Muslim, authentic
hadith, Sahih Muslim, Whoever
asks Allah for martyrdom, to die as a
martyr, Allah will grant him martyrdom.
And the reward of the martyrs, even if
he dies on his bed, among his family.
He didn't die in the battlefield, he died
peacefully on his bed at home.
But he will be with the martyrs in
the Jannah, because he asked Allah, ash-shahada
bi-sidqin, he asked Allah for martyrdom, sincerely
and truthfully, from the bottom of his heart.
So Allah grants him the status of the
martyrs.
See the importance of the pure intention, the
niyyah.
In Bukhari and Muslim, the Prophet ﷺ, he
mentioned, he mentioned two men, everyone
wished for something.
One man, he was, both of them they
were poor.
So one of them, he saw a rich
man, I'm giving you the meaning, the guest
of the hadith, and this rich man was
spending and wasting the wealth in committing haram,
fulfilling his desires and following his whims and
desires.
He's doing all types of sin.
So one man, one of them said, oh,
I wish I had, I wish I had
money like him, I would have done the
same like him.
So Allah tells the malaika, write for him,
that he committed the sins that this sinner
is doing, because he has a strong determination.
Had he got that money and that wealth,
he would not hesitate to commit the haram.
So it is the malaika, they write in
his record.
The other one, he saw a man well
off, spending his wealth in doing good deeds,
helping the needy, the destitute, and he was
benevolent.
So he wished and he said, had Allah
blessed me with something like him, I would
have done the same thing.
So Allah says, tells the malaika to write
for him the reward of this kind man,
this pious man.
They received the same reward.
So my dear brothers and sisters, imagine you
come on the day of resurrection and you
find your records are full of good deeds
that you built hospitals, schools, orphanages, sponsoring orphans,
and you didn't do these things and you
will be shocked.
My Lord, I didn't do these things.
Yeah, but you were sincere to do these
things had you got the means and the
chance.
So in the end of the hadith, the
Prophet said, regarding the first one who wished
to be like the one, the sinner, the
same, they will receive the same punishment.
And he said regarding the one who was
sincere and wanted to do good deeds, he
said, they will receive the same reward.
So you can see the importance of the
intention, the niyyah.
The other hadith of the Prophet ﷺ, إِذَا
الْتَقَى الْمُسْلِمَانِ بِسَيْفَيْهِمَا فَالْقَاتِلُ وَالْمَقْتُولُ فِي
النَّارِ When two Muslims, they face one another
to kill each other, both the
killer and the one who was killed are
in the hellfire, the murderer and the one
who was murdered.
The sahaba were confused and they said, we
can understand, O Prophet of Allah, okay, the
qatil, the killer should go to *.
هذا القاتل فما باللمقتول Okay, the killer, yes,
he should go to *.
But about the one who was killed, why
should he go to *?
The Prophet explained to them, he said, كان
حريصا على قتل أخيه He was keen, okay,
to kill his brother.
His intention was to kill his brother, had
he got the chance.
Had he got the chance, he would have
killed his brother, but he didn't get the
chance.
So he will go to hellfire because of
his intention.
So you can see now, with pure, sincere
intention, you will be with the martyrs or
you can be in the hellfire because
of your evil intent and intention.
So that's why we need always to keep
checking our hearts.
With the intention, we can convert our normal
habits and practices into acts of worship.
Imagine, imagine when you are taking your meal,
if before you start eating, that I have
now the intention for Allah, I'm going to
take this food with the intention of getting
strength to worship you.
While you are eating, enjoying your meal, Malaika
are writing for you good deeds, hasanat.
When you want to go to sleep, you
know that one third of our lifespan, we
are sleeping.
Sleeping.
So when I go to bed, I take
wudu and ask Allah, Oh Allah, if you
take my soul, have mercy on it.
And if you release it, make me among
your righteous, good ibad.
And my intention to get up and pray,
even if I didn't get up, Malaika, they
write for me.
Oh Allah, I'm going to head the bed.
Okay.
To sleep so that I gain strength to
worship you and to wake up in the
morning.
So that was my niyyah.
So Malaika are writing.
So the whole night, Malaika are writing good
deeds for you.
So all these eight hours of sleeping, they're
in your record.
One third of your lifetime is good deeds
in your record, though you didn't do anything.
Eight hours minimum at work.
When another one third of your lifespan, you
can convert it into good deeds.
So when you are leaving your house in
the morning, you raise your head, eyes, and
you look to your creator.
And ask him to bless your day.
To put your time and to help you
to do and perform your job and your
assignments and your task professionally in a way
that pleases Allah.
For Allah helped me.
I am working to earn my livelihood and
to feed my family halal.
So eight hours are there in your record.
Good deeds.
Another third of your lifetime.
So this is what the niyyah can do.
So my dear brothers and sisters, whenever you
want to do something, have niyyah intention.
You are calling your uncle.
You are calling your auntie.
You are calling.
Before that, niyyah is this is one of
my relatives.
I don't want to sever my womb.
Oh Allah.
So the time you spend on the phone,
you get hasanat.
So everything you can convert into good deeds.
Even when you fulfill your biological needs.
You fulfill your biological needs.
You're sleeping with your wife.
If the niyyah, the intention to fulfill that
need in order to avoid haram, satisfying each
other, you get hasanat.
Sahaba were surprised when the Prophet ﷺ said
that.
One of us fulfill his desire and on
top of that will be rewarded.
He said, yes.
What do you think will happen to him
if he satisfied his desire in a haram
way, in an unlawful manner?
Will he be punished?
They said, yes.
Said the opposite.
If he does the opposite, he will be
rewarded.
So imagine this is the beauty of Islam.
It's a beautiful Islam.
You fulfill your biological needs and you get
hasanat.
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab said something beautiful.
He said, I force myself to
make love, to sleep with my partner.
I force myself to do that.
Why?
He said, hoping, praying that Allah will bring
from my loving a soul that will worship
Allah, soul that will worship Allah.
Not because I have desire, no.
But I want to have a child who
will worship Allah.
That's why the Salaf, if you read their
biographies, though they are old, advanced in age,
they are married.
When one, his wife, passes away, immediately, immediately,
he will get married.
And the urf and the norm, acceptable.
And the women, no problem.
They don't have any objection that he is
old.
So he's telling us, I force myself so
that I will ask Allah.
May Allah bless me with a soul, a
child who will worship Allah.
So that is condition number two.
Condition number three, it is.
This deed, this amal you are doing should,
should comply, comply with the Kitab and Sunnah.
Kitab and Sunnah.
It's very important, very important.
It complies with the Quran and Sunnah.
If it doesn't comply with the Quran and
Sunnah, then it will not be accepted.
Keep this in mind.
Keep it in mind.
This deed, this ibadah that you are doing,
is it in line with the Quran and
Sunnah or not?
If it is in line, if it complies,
Allah will accept it.
Remember, Allah will not accept any ibadah, any
active worship, except the worship that he loves
and wants.
So anything your Prophet ﷺ didn't do, don't
do it.
Don't do it.
Shaykh, this is good khair.
Who told you it is khair when your
Prophet ﷺ didn't do it?
Shaytan is telling you.
Do you think your Prophet ﷺ was unaware
and he missed this khair that you are
doing?
And you are lucky?
No.
That's why Sayyidina Hudhayfah, r.a, said, كل
عبادة لم يتعبدها أصحاب محمد ﷺ فلا تعبدوها
فما ترك الأول والآخر شيء Any active ibadah,
any active worship, the Prophet ﷺ and the
companions of the Prophet ﷺ didn't do it,
don't do it.
Because you cannot beat them in doing righteousness.
You cannot.
And so whatever the Prophet ﷺ gives you,
take it.
Whatever he forbids you, abstain from it.
Very simple.
What is wrong with it?
Yes, because your Prophet ﷺ didn't do it.
And he ﷺ said, مَنْ أَحْدَثَ فِي أَمْرِنَ
هَذَا مَنْ لِيسَ مِنُّ فَهُوَ رَجْلٌ مَنْ عَمِلَ
عَمَلًا لِيسَ عَلَيْ أَمْرُنَ فَهُوَ رَجْلٌ Anyone who
does any amal, any good deed that is
not in line, does not comply, innovated, invented,
added things into the matter of the deen,
which is not part of it, will not
be accepted.
It will be rejected.
That's why there's no room for what they
call bid'ah hasanah, good bid'ah, good
innovation.
The Prophet ﷺ said, كلُّ بِدْعَةٌ ضَلَالَةٌ فِي
النَّارِ Every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance
leads to the hellfire.
So remember this.
I'm going to do something.
Did my Prophet ﷺ do it?
Yes or no?
No.
That's it.
Anyone comes to you, say, do this.
This is good.
Ask.
Did the Prophet ﷺ do it?
Yes.
Where?
Show me.
No.
Thank you.
It is khayr.
Sorry, who told you it is khayr?
Who told you?
Khayr, the Prophet ﷺ didn't know.
It's not khayr.
If he said, yes, the Prophet ﷺ knew
it, then ask him another question.
This khayr, the Prophet ﷺ knew it.
Did he teach it to his companion, or
he hid it?
He didn't.
He did.
Show me.
Where?
He didn't.
So who taught it to you when he
didn't teach it to anyone?
Your shaytan?
And now we can see thousands of Muslims,
they think they are getting closer to Allah,
doing good deeds, when actually they are innovating
in the deen.
Innovating.
So I want you to keep in mind,
always, ask yourself this question.
This question.
Did the Prophet ﷺ do it?
No.
Sorry, I lost.
Chapter is closed.
Chapter is closed.
Mawlana is saying this.
I don't care about Mawlana.
Who is Mawlana?
My master, Muhammad ﷺ, tells me no.
He didn't do it.
So I am following him.
The Ma'soom.
Is your Mawlana, your Shaykh Ma'soom?
Invaluable?
No.
Okay, finish.
Is your Shaykh Prophet?
No.
This is our Islam.
Our Islam, very simple.
Allah said, the Prophet said.
Nothing more than that.
You don't want to follow the footsteps of
the Prophets?
It's up to you.
Okay.
Oh, you Wahhabi.
Everything bid'ah, bid'ah, bid'ah, bid
'ah.
Okay.
JazakAllah khair.
I am Wahhabi.
Okay.
No problem.
I'm telling you follow your Prophet ﷺ and
you are telling me Wahhabi?
What a nice guy the Wahhabi is.
He always tells the people to follow the
Prophet ﷺ.
That is credit.
That is an honour.
So wake up my dear brothers and sisters.
Wake up.
Follow your Prophet ﷺ.
Follow his footsteps.
Don't let the shaitan to fool you, to
lead you astray.
So this is number third condition.
That make sure always that what you do
is aligned, full compliance with the Kitab and
Sunnah.
Al-'ilmu qala Allahu qala Rasuluhu qala as-sahabatu
laysa bid'amu'ihi.
He said, naqayyam as-sahih.
Ilm, knowledge, Allah said, the Prophet said, the
Companion said.
This is the knowledge.
This is our Deen.
So remember the conditions of your amal if
you want Allah to accept it.
Tawheed, sincerity, ikhlas and mutaba'a.
This compliance, followship, adherence to the Kitab and
Sunnah.
May Allah ﷻ guide all of us to
the Haqq and make us remain upon the
Haqq, the truth, and die upon the truth.
May Allah ﷻ keep us to remain steadfast
in this beautiful Deen until we breathe our
last and meet our Lord, find Him pleased
with all of us.
Ameen.
May Allah ﷻ forgive us our sins, forgive
our sins, our faults, our mistakes, our ignorance.
May Allah ﷻ bless us with the beneficial
knowledge of righteous deeds.
And may Allah ﷻ unite our ummah in
the Haqq and bring us all together to
the truth.
And may Allah ﷻ purify our hearts and
your hearts and fill our hearts with the
iman and taqwa.
And may Allah ﷻ reward all of you,
my dear brothers and sisters, immensely for your
patience and attentiveness.
BarakAllahu feekum.
JazakumAllahu khaira.
As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
Wa alaykum as-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa
barakatuh.
Ameen.
JazakumAllahu khair, Sheikh.
We have received a few questions.
Please let me know once you've received a
question.
No, I haven't received them.
One moment, Sheikh.
Have you received them, Sheikh?
Yeah, I received one question, yes.
So the first question, can a woman who
conceived due to zina abort in six weeks?
The answer, no, you don't abort.
You don't abort.
Because the Ramidiyya, the woman who committed zina
at the time of the Prophet ﷺ, she
came and she said, I am pregnant.
I committed zina.
So purify me.
He told her, go and wait until you
deliver this child.
This child is sinless, innocent soul.
Why should he be killed?
And this child, regarding giving
a name, they say the name of, he
is the son of his mother and can
be giving any name, Abdullah, something like that.
Now, how about if the father is known
and he wanted to have this woman, can
this child be, who was born out of
the wedlock, can he be attributed to him
and taken as his son, legitimate child?
Well, this issue is a sensitive issue and
controversial issue between the Fuqaha majority, they're saying,
no, because the child is born out of
the wedlock.
However, Shaykh Musallam ibn Taymiyyah, and his students,
Ibn Taymiyyah, they are saying, if he is
the biological father, then he can attribute and
he can have the child as his own
son.
The majority of the scholars are saying, no,
because he was born out of the wedlock,
the marriage relationship, the marital relationship.
And the hadith, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam said that, for the adulterer, there is
nothing for him except to be stoned or
he will not get anything, not child.
The child will not be his.
And if the woman is married and she
committed zina, she cheated on her husband, this
child belongs not to the biological father, but
the father, the man to whom he is
married.
Al waladu lil firash.
Firash literally means the bed or the mattress,
which means the legal husband, the one who
is the husband of the woman.
So if a woman cheated on her husband
and she conceived this child is the son
of her husband, not the biological one, not
the biological one.
Unless the husband doubted her and he accused
her and she said, this child is not
mine, then, you know, there is something called
li'an.
Both of them, they invoke Allah's curse upon
them.
Then they will be separated.
They will not live together, finished.
The relationship will be terminated and the child
will be taken with his mother and he
will be attributed to his mother and that's
it.
He will not be the child of that
man.
If there is li'an happening, no li
'an, the child belongs to this household, this
family, because the husband is actually the legal
and the legitimate father.
Now, Sheikh al-Islam ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn
al-Qayyim, their argument, if they are saying,
if a woman was not married, actually, he's
not married and she committed zina, now here
there is no legal husband or valid marriage.
There's nothing.
So the hadith, you cannot use it to
support your argument because the situation is different,
they are saying.
Then the situation, the case is not the
same.
So here the biological father can claim and
take the child and can marry this woman
and the child will be legitimate child and
will be theirs.
And they based their argument, Sheikh al-Islam
ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim, on the
hadith in Sahih Muslim by Jurayj, Jurayj al
-Rahib, Jurayj the monk, from Bani Israel, as
you know.
His mother came, his mother came to visit
him and he was busy, he was saying
his prayers, he was in the salah.
So he didn't stop his salah to answer
his mother, he continued and his mother kept
shouting, shouting and finally got upset and said,
oh Allah, do not take him from this
life and do not catch his soul and
end his life before make him look at
the faces of the prostitutes.
And Allah responded and accepted her supplication.
So a woman from among Bani Israel came
to Bani Israel and she said, I'm pregnant.
And then she gave birth and she said,
the father of this child is the monk,
Jurayj.
This holy man, he's the one who, this
is his child.
Bani Israel, they got very angry, they went
and they destroyed the synagogue where he was
sitting, living and they pulled him and they
took him.
Now they showed him the child.
When he saw the child, he smiled, he
smiled because now he's seeing the prostitute and
he heard what his mother said.
So what he did, he put his finger
in the belly button of the child and
he said to the child, who is your
father?
And the baby spoke and the baby spoke
and said, my father, the shepherd, who was
a man, was a shepherd, living close to
the synagogue.
So Bani Israel, they apologized and they said,
we are going to rebuild your place of
worship out of gold.
He said, no, no, just as it was
before, like as it was before.
When he put his finger, what did the
Jurayj say?
What did he say?
Who's your father?
Who's your father?
The child said, my father is the shepherd.
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala attributed, because
this was sanctioned by the creator, that the
child was attributed to the shepherd and though
the shepherd was not, I mean, his biological
father, but there was no marriage.
But the fatherhood was attributed to him.
So Shaykh al-Islam ibn Taymiyyah and ibn
al-Qayyim, they based their argument in this
hadith.
Now, this fatwa of Shaykh al-Islam ibn
Taymiyyah ibn al-Qayyim, some of the judges
and the qubah, they resort to it.
They refer to it because it helps them
to resolve certain issues and some problems.
I hope this is clear to the questioner.
Next question.
Yes, the next question.
Why do our deeds ascend every Monday and
Thursday?
Because Allah chose so.
This is enough for us as Muslims, enough.
Allah chose that the deeds, of course, the
deeds they send all the time.
But on Monday and Thursday, like other days,
the deeds are going.
The Prophet, peace be upon him, was asked,
he said, Monday I was born on it.
And he mentioned that the deeds are ascended
to Allah.
So I like and love to, my deeds
are ascended while I'm fasting, while I'm fasting.
Next question.
The next question.
If someone engages in deliberate sin or harmful
acts on Thursdays, what happens to their deeds?
Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la, Allah
Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la.
The good deeds.
And the misdeeds.
If you do good deeds, they are recorded.
There's an angel recording them.
He did misdeeds.
There's an angel recording them.
On the day of resurrection, all your deeds,
good deeds on one side of the scale,
bad deeds on the other.
So Allah will not wrong you.
Allah will not wrong you.
Of course, committing haram, not only on Thursday
and any day.
You are committing haram and you are sinful.
So you need to repent and turn to
Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la.
Yes, committing sins on a particular day, like
Ramadan or on the 10 days of the
Hijjah.
Okay, these blessed timings.
The ulama, they're saying here this sin is
graver.
Someone committed sin in Mecca or Medina.
It's not like committing it anywhere else, etc.
But the sinner, the person who is committing
haram, he has to repent.
Okay, irrespective of the day and the place.
Because you are displeasing Allah Subh'anaHu Wa
Ta-A'la.
Next.
Okay, this
is adding insult to injury.
This would make the situation worse.
Okay, so if he is interested to become
a Muslim, then he will have this time.
According to what I mentioned to you, the
opinion of Shaykh Abdullah bin Ali.
So, if he is interested and become a
Muslim, and of course, that will expiate his
sin, inshallah.
And this is, you see, now the problem
that Muslims, is a Muslim committing zina with
a Catholic.
It doesn't mean that committing zina with a
Muslim is okay.
But you see, that means he is only
Muslim by name.
That's not okay.
So, he needs to repent and make tawbah
to Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la.
Next question.
Well, that it is, they are committing haram,
major sin.
They are sinful.
They are in bad shape.
So, they need to repent.
To repent and normalize and come together.
Unless there is a valid reason for cutting
the relation.
Next.
Barak Allahu Fiqh.
The next question.
If one person sincerely tries to reconcile, but
the other ignores them, do the deeds of
the person seeking reconciliation remain stuck in the
dunya and their unanswered duas, or does it
only affect the person, or both of them
differently?
No, it affects the person who is refusing.
The one who is initiating and who's trying
to bring them, to reconcile with them, and
to normalize the relationship.
Okay.
Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la will
not punish him because he is doing, he
or she is doing their best.
Okay.
Like the Prophet, the man who is good
to his relatives.
Okay.
He is kind to them and they are
treating him the opposite.
So, he said, continue.
Allah is supporting you.
Okay.
And by continuing, you are actually like someone
who is stuffing their mouth with hot ashes.
Okay.
You get your reward from Allah Subh'anaHu
Wa Ta-A'la.
I hope this is clear to the questioner.
So, the one who is taking the initiative
and trying to normalize the relationship, to reconcile
with them, and they are rejecting, the sin
is on the other side.
Those who are not accepting this peaceful proposal
from the other side.
Next.
The next question, I want to know the
meaning of the word wazifa.
As I have heard many people say to
do wazifa if things are not going the
right way, like read the surah, etc.
a number of times to get the work
done.
This is bid'ah.
This is nonsense.
I received this question.
See, my dear brothers and sisters, try, try,
try to understand your Islam.
Okay.
And believe me, in the subcontinent, they have
many, many superstitions and superstitious beliefs.
Many things.
What is this wazifa?
What is Islam?
As clear as the sun and daylight.
Quran and sunnah.
That's it.
Finished.
All this nonsense, throw it away.
Don't pay attention to it.
Next question.
Just a quick question.
Is saying masha'Allah after hayla al-falah
a bid'ah as well?
Because I've noticed it in some masjids.
Again, again.
Saying masha'Allah instead of la hawla wa
la quwwata illa billah after hayla al-falah.
Is this a bid'ah?
Of course, it is a bid'ah.
Because you see, you follow what the Prophet
ﷺ said.
This reminded me of Abdullah ibn Umar ﷺ.
He had a man sneeze and he said
alhamdulillah wa salatu wa salam ala Rasulullah.
Alhamdulillah.
All praise is due to Allah.
That's fine.
And then he said, al salatu wa salam,
may Allah's peace and blessings be upon his
Prophet ﷺ.
Ibn Umar told him.
All of us, we send salam upon the
Prophet ﷺ.
But this is not how he taught us.
It's not how he taught us.
So, stick and follow what the Prophet ﷺ
taught you.
Next.
The next question.
Sheikh, as you know, there is istighfar of
10 days of Muharram here in India, as
my neighbour used to attend it.
And now she's asking me the authenticity of
it.
And that one should enter the home by
reading three times the Quls and the Durood
Sharif and other surahs and then clapping.
And then entering the home as the Mawlana
told them to do so.
Please advise.
That means you didn't understand the lesson today.
What did I say today?
The deen, the Prophet ﷺ said, Allah said,
the Prophet ﷺ said.
Is this what you are asking?
Is this the practice of the Prophet ﷺ
or his companions?
Yes, show me.
No, finish.
Chapter is closed.
It's bid'ah.
This is all bid'ah, innovation.
Nothing like this in Islam.
Mawlana, forget about Mawlana.
Who is your Mawlana?
Follow Muhammad ﷺ, OK?
Follow your Prophet ﷺ.
Ask them what you are doing.
Is this what the Prophet ﷺ did?
Yes, show us.
No, forget about it.
Finish.
May Allah guide all of you.
May Allah guide all the Muslims to follow
the Prophet ﷺ.
Next question.
I mean, the next question.
If a woman's water is broken to start
childbirth, should they still pray until the birth?
In this case, it is the started, what
they call it, the shaw, I think.
This is part of the childbirth.
When the water is broken, that he should
consider the part of the childbirth and he
doesn't pray.
Next.
The next question, next question.
What are the differences between Ibadah of actions
like Salah and Ibadah like asking and raising
the hands?
The Ibadah have different forms.
Some are the physical, OK, by the limbs,
OK.
Some by the heart, like the ikhlas, the
fear, OK.
The dua, the dua is Ibadah.
When you make dua, you ask Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
So these are all different forms of doing
the Ibadah and performing the Ibadah.
And all these forms of Ibadah should be
in compliance with the Kitab al-Sunnah.
When you ask, you ask only Allah.
And of course, you don't make what we
call I'tidah and cross the what is permissible
for asking something which is you are not
supposed to ask.
OK.
Or you know that by asking this, Allah
will not answer.
For example, you ask, oh, Allah, destroy all
the kuffar.
Allah will not answer you.
You will remain there.
So we have to learn the manners and
the adab of the dua.
Next.
Barak Allahu Fi Sheikh.
The next question.
Is it right that I need to seek
my husband's permission to have my parents and
siblings to come visit me?
The answer is yes.
Sisters, you have to understand the following.
Once you get married, you have to obey
your husband as long as he doesn't ask
you to do something haram.
This is his right upon you.
He doesn't want your siblings.
He doesn't want your any of your relatives
to come to enter his home.
You have to obey your husband and seek.
Unless he tells you from the beginning.
Any one of your family, your brothers, sisters,
OK, I don't mind.
They can come anytime.
So he gave you a green light, didn't
he?
OK.
But this is his right.
You tell him.
OK.
Can I invite?
So either you get this blank check.
OK.
That he tells you, you can invite your
family anytime.
I don't mind.
But if you know that he is sensitive,
he doesn't want respect your husband.
Next.
The next question.
How long is it recommended to nurse a
baby?
Two years.
Two years recommended.
And I don't know what happens to the
women nowadays.
They breastfeed a few months.
Then she tells you, I don't have milk.
SubhanAllah.
Women in the past, our mothers.
MashaAllah.
Two years they are breastfeeding and not only
breastfeeding their children and also other children.
Next.
The next question.
If someone who is a daily bread basket
of his children and resident to very far
distance from his father, who is very old
and needs help and has doesn't have anyone
else to help them, if he leaves the
children, they will have a problem.
And if he stays with the father, they
are in problem.
What is the way forward?
First, this is your father.
You should not desert your father.
Do not desert your father.
Either you move to where your father is.
So you look after your father.
Or if you have another brother or sister
in the same place that you ask them
to be with your father and try to
help them financially.
And you keep visiting your father.
But if your father is alone and he
is in need, your father is your father.
Move to be next to your father.
And Allah is the Rezab.
And Allah, because of your obedience to your
father, is the one who is going to
take care of you and is going to
provide for you from sources you cannot expect.
Next.
The next question.
Are Christians considered kafirs?
First of all, do you know the meaning
of kafir?
What's the meaning of kafir?
Kafir is an Arabic word.
What does it mean?
Kafir means someone who is covering the truth,
covering something.
Don't you know that in Arabic, the farmer
is called kafir?
The farmer.
The farmer is called kafir.
Because when he plows the land, he puts
the seeds and he covers the seeds.
So he's kafir.
The night in Arabic is called kafir, the
night, because the darkness kafir thinks.
So the person who hides the truth, rejects
the truth is called kafir.
Because he's hiding something.
So that's the linguistic meaning of kafir.
Technical meaning that the non-Muslim is called
kafir.
Because he is rejecting the truth, which is
al-Islam.
The Christians, Allah called them kafir.
Those who say God is Trinity, the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Ghost are kafir.
Indeed, they have blasphemed those who say Jesus
Christ is God.
God is Jesus Christ.
The bulk of Christians, Christendom, all they are
saying Jesus Christ is God.
Our Lord Jesus Christ.
May Allah guide them.
So we as Muslims, we invite them to
al-Islam and we tell them, you are
mistaken.
And I mentioned this many times, the whole
bulk of Christendom, they did not, especially the
Europeans, they did not hear the true message
of Christ.
The message that reached them was already distorted.
The Christianity that reached them is the Christianity
concocted by Saint Paul, who concocted and invented
and fabricated the doctrine of the Trinity.
And God incarnated, that God came to this
world in the form of a human being.
And Christ has two natures, human and divine.
May Allah guide them.
Next question.
My husband is very close to a female
co-worker that he considers a friend.
How do I handle this?
What do you expect?
What do you expect?
A man, and next to him is a
woman.
Who will be the third person?
Devil.
Shaitan.
Not only that, and some wives, they don't
take care of themselves and give their husband
their rights.
And this woman in the office every day,
when she comes, she's like a bride.
You smell her perfume before entering, and the
smile, and the nice smell, and you know
that.
And he's a man.
So this is what is happening, and especially
if he is not a religious and practicing
brother.
So you need to sit together, talk openly
to each other, and remind him.
And check and see Allah subhana wa ta
'ala.
And if you want, okay, that one woman
is not enough for you, you can marry
in the halal way.
Oh, now I think the sisters are flaring
up.
I don't like this.
When it comes to halal, her husband to
marry a woman, halal way?
On the my dead body.
Not to have his mistress.
Okay, she will close one eye, turn the
other side.
As long as he's mine.
Though he has a mistress, and she knows
that.
He doesn't mind.
Halal?
No, on my dead body.
So sit with your husband.
Talk openly, take care of yourself, try to
know what is his weakness, what is the
problem.
Because if a husband, his bio, listen to
this, and talk bluntly, openly to the sisters.
Okay, fulfill his biological needs.
Be a woman.
You know what I mean.
He gets everything at home.
When he leaves in the morning, he's longing
to come back to his paradise, heaven on
earth.
But if he is, keep looking and watching
his watch, and for the day to break,
to come out from this * at home,
this is what will happen.
I hope this is clear to every sister.
Next question, please.
This was the final question.
I will say on behalf of all the
students, this has been incredibly beneficial and blessing
to attain the knowledge and be able to
attend every class.
And we are excited for the next week's
new class.
If you have any final pieces of advice
or wisdom that you would like to share
to the students before we end this and
conclude the series for good, please do so
now.
I have a request from all of you.
I want you to be sincere students, dedicated,
that you learn your deen seriously.
Don't waste time.
Take notes, revise your notes.
Share what you learn, share it with others
and practice it.
May Allah bless you.
May Allah protect you.
May Allah put barakah in your time.
And may Allah remove all your hardships.
And may Allah keep you dedicated, devoted and
sincere seekers of knowledge.
May Allah accept your deeds and elevate your
status.
Looking forward, my dear brothers and sisters, to
seeing you in the next session.
