As-salāmu ʿalaykum.
Wa ʿalaykum as-salāmu ʿalaykum.
How are you, Shaykh?
I am al-ḥamdu liLlāh, al-ḥamdu liLlāh.
In shā'a Llāh, we'll get started with
the lesson.
Today we are covering Kithāb al-Tawḥīd by
Muḥammad ibn ʿAbdu l-Bahār.
Just a quick reminder.
Not today, today, sorry.
As it's Monday.
Just a quick reminder, please take notes, listen
attentively, and hand your questions over to Shaykh
throughout the course, to myself throughout the course
of the lesson.
With that said, I will hand it back
to the Shaykh to start the lesson.
Ṭarīqah Allāhu feekum wa jazālukum Allāhu khayran.
As-salāmu ʿalaykum.
Wa ʿalaykum as-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa
-barakātuh.
Bismi-Llāhi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm.
As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
Bismi-Llāhi r-Rahmāni r-Rahīm.
Today is our weekly class.
The issues of Jahiliyyah.
And today we have the Mas'alah number
32.
Issue number 32.
Issue
number
32.
So this Mas'alah, they, of course, the
people of the scripture, disbelieved in the truth
if it was found with someone that they
did not like or agree with.
In other words, if the truth is only
with us, okay, and we will not accept
it from anyone else.
The rest of the people, they are wrong.
Even if they believe like us, they are
wrong.
And we will not accept from them anything.
The truth is with us and us only.
So this is one of the qualities of
the people of Jahiliyyah.
So this ayah, Allāh ﷻ is telling us,
the Jews say the Christians have nothing to
stand on.
The Christians.
And the Christians say the Jews have nothing
to stand on.
Although both recite the scriptures.
And those pagans, the Arabs, who have no
knowledge say the same about the people of
faith.
Surely Allāh ﷻ will judge between them on
the day of judgment regarding the dispute.
Now, let us pause and reflect.
So this is one of the qualities of
the people of Jahiliyyah.
Truth is totally confined and limited to what
they are upon.
That's it.
Truth cannot be with anyone else.
So in this beautiful ayah, Allāh ﷻ is
telling us, wa qālat al-yahūd, the Jews
are supposed to be the followers of Musa
alayhi s-salām.
The Israelites, Bani Israel and Israel is Yaqub
alayhi s-salām.
So they are the children of Jacob, Yahūd.
wa qālat al-yahūd laysatan naṣahrah ʿalayhi sh
-shay'in.
The Christians, they have nothing to stand.
They are misguided.
That's how they view the Christians, that they
are misguided.
And they didn't accept Isa alayhi s-salām
twice.
And you know what they said about his
mother.
So when Isa alayhi s-salām came to
them, they didn't accept him.
As a matter of fact, they gave him
death time.
And they cooperated with the Romans against him.
They considered him heretic, false
prophet.
That's what they said about Isa alayhi s
-salām.
And Allāh saved Isa alayhi s-salām, as
you know, from that conspiracy or attempt
to kill him.
So he was raised alive.
And he's alive.
And he's going to come.
So the Jews, they did not accept Christ
Isa as the Messiah.
They didn't.
They will accept him when he comes again,
second time.
Because Allāh said, وَإِن مِّنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ إِلَّا
No single
one from among the people of the scripture,
people of the book, Jews and Christians, accept
that he will believe in Christ in his
second coming before he dies.
Because Isa didn't die, alayhis-salām, he's going
to come back.
And when he comes back, he will
not accept from the Christians or the Jews,
anything except al-Islām.
Because what he preached is al-Islām, the
belief in the oneness of Allāh.
So he's not going to accept the doctrine
of the Holy Trinity.
Now, that's why, as in Bukhārī,
The Prophet ﷺ said,
it's about time.
This is the time that Jesus is going
to come down, the son of Mary.
And he will judge between you fairly and
justly.
And he is going to break the crucifix.
He will break the crucifix, the cross.
That simple.
To tell the bulk of the Christians, I
was not crucified.
And he is going to kill the swine,
the pig.
To tell them, you know what the Old
Testament says, that it is unlawful for you
and you are eating it.
And the third thing he's going to do
to cancel the gizya.
The gizya is a tax paid by the
non-Muslims who are living under the umbrella
of the Islamic state.
It's a tax.
They pay for their protection.
The Muslims are responsible to protect all the
non-Muslims who are living in their country.
But when he comes, they will not accept
from them anything except Islam.
So they become Muslims, and then you don't
take the gizya from the Muslims.
The Muslims give zakah, which is more than
that.
So then, when he comes, all they believe
in him.
But now, at this moment, before he was
taken to heaven, the Jews did not accept
him.
وقالت اليهود وليست النصارى على شيء This is
the stance of the Jews regarding the Christians.
On the other hand, similarly, وقالت النصارى ليست
اليهود على شيء You, the Jews, you have
nothing to stand on.
What you hold is wrong.
What you believe is erroneous, is wrong.
It is nothing, nothing.
You don't have anything.
You stand on.
So they are accusing each other.
In other words, Jews are telling the Christians,
we are the ones who are going to
have salvation and enter paradise.
You are doomed to *.
You have nothing to stand on.
Christians, they are telling them, no, you, not
on the right track.
We are on the right track.
We are the true believers.
You have nothing to stand on.
Can you imagine this fight between them?
Then the pagans stepped in.
Those unlettered, the ignorant, Jews and Christians, we
have scripture, learned men.
But now the ignorant, the unlettered also, they
have to have their say.
Pagans, who have no knowledge whatsoever, say the
same about the people of faith.
They say, you, all of you, you have
nothing.
Huh?
We are, we are the pagans, the correct
one.
Then Allah said, All this
dispute, accusations, will be settled on
the day when all of them, they will
stand before Allah.
Surely Allah will settle this dispute, will judge
between them on the day of judgment regarding
the dispute.
So you can see the ayah is so
relevant to the masalah or to the title.
It is so obvious that both the Jews
and Christians did not accept the truth from
each other.
They did not accept the truth the other
team has.
Why?
Out of jealousy.
They feel jealous of each other.
Though both Baptists, Jews and Christians, were learned
men.
But because of this hasad, this disease that
filled their hearts, they accused each other of
being deviant from the truth.
And the hasad, my dear brothers and sisters,
jealousy, envy, is a destructive disease.
Incurable.
There's no cure for it.
If you have this disease in your heart,
the hasad, the hasad, what does it mean?
Hasad or envy, that when you see someone
is blessed with something, receiving blessing from Allah,
you start boiling, boiling inside.
You wish that, that blessing is gone.
Taken away from that particular person or group.
You don't want to see them happy.
You don't want to see them receiving blessings
from Allah.
And Allah's blessings, no one can stop them.
So this person is eating himself.
And there is heat inside him or her.
And he or she will never enjoy life.
His life or her life is so miserable.
So miserable.
So this is killing disease.
Killing disease.
May Allah save us from having this hasad.
This disease.
And if you have this disease, only a
shafi, the healer, only Allah can remove it.
Nobody else.
There is no cure for it.
The cure is to turn to Allah, cry
to Allah, to help you to get rid
of it.
Without Allah's help, this disease will be eating
you till you die.
So we need to work hard on our
hearts and keep checking them.
And you don't harbor this ignoble quality in
your heart.
Because once this disease has started working
in your heart, this heart will be damaged,
destroyed.
Many people, they have this disease.
So they will find them.
Why?
Why?
Why do they have this?
Why do they have that?
Why?
Why?
Why?
Allah saying, die with your rage, with your
anger.
You are only going to kill yourself.
Okay.
Everyone knows himself.
What do you have here?
When you see someone, Allah blessed him with
a blessing, bestowed, gave him favor.
What do you feel?
Angry?
You feel heat inside you?
Or you say, Allahumma barik lahu.
Oh Allah, bless him and bless what you
gave him.
Oh Allah, as you gave him, give me.
That's it.
To wish that that blessing to vanish and
to disappear and to leave him, that is
the hasad.
Now listen to what Allah is saying.
In surat al-Baqarah, ayah 109, about this
disease.
wadja kathirun min ahl al-kitab wadja kathirun
min ahl al-kitab law yaruddunakum min ba'di
imanikum kuffara kuffaran hasadan min inji anfusihim min
ba'di ma tabayyana lahumul haq ta'fu wasfahu
hatta ya'ti allahu bi amrih inna allaha ala
kulli shay'in fadiyyim Many
among the people of the book, Jews and
Christians, wish they could turn you believers, you
Muslims, back to disbelief because of their envy.
After the truth has been made clear to
them, pardon and bear with them until Allah
delivers his decision.
Surely Allah is most capable of everything.
Let us reflect.
wadja kathirun min ahl al-kitab This is
their wish.
wadja means to wish.
To wish for something.
You hope something will happen.
This is what they aspire.
This is what they are praying for.
wadja kathirun min ahl al-kitab Many among
the people of the scripture wish law yaruddunakum
because they know.
They know that the Muslims are on the
right path.
They know Islam is the correct religion.
They know that.
They know that the Muslims are the ones
who are following the prophets or the prophets
of Allah.
They know that.
And they know that what they are upon
is wrong.
They know that.
And they know that the Muslims are going
to be delivered and reach their destination.
Jannah.
They don't want that to happen to the
Muslims.
They want them to be with them.
To go along with them to the hellfire.
wadja kathirun min ahl al-kitab law yaruddunakum
min ba'di imanikum kuffa'a la'a This
is their wish.
That you go back in your heels after
you believed.
So they want you to become apostates and
come out of Islam.
Don't you see what they are doing in
many Muslim countries?
The missionaries converting the Muslims into Christianity.
They don't want that the Muslims remain as
believers.
Let them join us.
wadja kathirun min ahl al-kitab law yaruddunakum
min ba'di imanikum kuffa'a la'a Why?
Why?
Why do they want us to become kafir?
Why?
Why do they want us to leave Islam?
Why?
Allah is telling us hasadlan min a'indi
anfusihain The motive behind all these
efforts.
The motive behind all these great efforts they
are exerting.
Army of missionaries all over the place.
Lazing the dust.
What for?
To convert you.
To become kafirs.
Hasadlan min a'indi anfusihain Allah is telling
you the reason.
Because of their envy.
Hasad.
This disease is eating them.
They have hatred.
Why they are the only one on the
right path?
Why?
Okay, join the Muslims.
No.
We will not.
Shaitan is fooling them.
Hasadlan min a'indi anfusihain min ba'di ma
tabayyan lahumul haqq They are not doing this
out of ignorance.
No.
No.
Allah is telling us min ba'di ma tabayyan
lahumul haqq So they are doing this.
After the truth has been made clear to
them.
They know what Islam is calling to is
the truth.
They know.
Then Allah tells us here.
Pardon and bear with them.
This is a disease eating them.
Your duty, your mission, you Muslims is to
present the truth to them.
To call them to the haqq.
With hikmah and wisdom.
And that's it.
Qul ya ahl al-kitab, ta'alaw ila
kalimatin sawa'in baynana wa baynakum an la
na'buda illa Allah wa la nishfukh bihi
shay'an wa la yatakhidha ba'duna ba'dan arbaaban
min dhuni Allah fa'in shawallu fa qulli
shahallu baynana muslimun Yusra tu yushiddu.
Qul ya ahl al-kitab, oh people of
the scripture, Jews and Christians, come.
People of the book, come.
To a common term between us and you.
You see, we hear from time to time
what they call the interfaith or
dialogue between religions.
Islam called for the dialogue and the conversation
1400 years ago before anyone.
Do you want a dialogue?
You are most welcome.
Qul ya ahl al-kitab, oh people of
the scripture, ta'alaw, come.
Jews and Christians, come.
Ila kalimatin sawa'in baynana wa baynakum To
a common term, to the word of Tawheed,
which is the common denominator, we
will mention to you the agenda for the
meeting.
For the dialogue.
The protocol.
Ila kalimatin sawa'in baynana wa baynakum Come
to this common term between us and you.
What is this common term?
Al la na'buda illa Allah On the
condition we worship none but Allah.
Are you ready, Jews and Christians?
Al la na'buda illa Allah On the
condition that we worship only Allah, God Almighty,
Jehovah, the creator of the heavens and the
earth.
Second thing, condition.
Well, we don't associate with him.
Wa la nushrukka bihi shay'a We don't
associate anyone with him.
We don't say Christ is son of God
or Ezra is son of God.
La nushrukka bihi shay'a We don't associate
anyone with Allah.
But condition number two.
Wa la yastakhidha ba'duna ba'dan arbaaban min duni
illa And we should not take from among
ourselves loads, loads besides Allah.
These are the three conditions for having a
dialogue with you.
Are you ready?
You are most welcome.
The answer, of course, they don't accept this.
If they say no, no, no.
No, we will not agree.
These three conditions are not acceptable to us.
If they go back on their heels and
they turn their back to you.
Fa intawallaw Aqoolu ash hadu Bear witness that
we are Muslims.
Bear witness that we are Muslims.
We are Muslims.
We surrender to Allah.
And we are following all our beloved prophets
of Allah.
Because they were Muslims and we are following
their footsteps.
Okay.
Wa la tujadilu ahla l-kishab illa billatihi
ahsan Do not argue with the people of
the scriptures except in the best manner.
This is an Islam.
We invite you to accept it.
If you accept it, alhamdulillah, that's what we
want.
You become our brothers and our sisters.
But if you say no, then bear witness
that we are Muslims.
And blame no one on the day of
resurrection except yourselves.
Because we have conveyed the message to you.
And we have told you.
Bear with them.
The matter, this matter will be settled.
When?
There.
In the next life.
Till Allah delivers his decision.
Surely Allah is most capable of everything.
See what this hasad can do.
See what the envy can do.
Also Allah said, telling us about, this is
the beauty of the Quran.
Alhamdulillah, Allah blessed the Muslims with this book.
Allah is telling us what their hearts harbor.
What their hearts hold.
Allah is telling us.
They are not interested in knowing the truth.
No.
They made up their minds already.
Allah says in Surah An-Nisa, Ayat 89.
This ayah talks about the group of the,
about the munafiqeen, about the hypocrites.
Pretending to be Muslims while they are collaborating
and helping the enemies of Islam against the
Muslims.
So this ayah is talking about them.
About this group of the munafiqeen.
They wish you would disbelieve as they have
disbelief because the hypocrites are Catholics.
So you may all be alike.
Be alike.
So do not take them as allies unless
they immigrate in the cause of Allah.
But if they turn away, then seize them
and kill them wherever you find them.
And do not take any of them as
allies or helpers.
This is talking the ayah about this group,
the munafiqeen.
Not talking about the kuffar in general.
That's why you find the missionaries, the gentiles,
they misquote and they quote the ayat out
of context.
Kill them wherever you find them.
That is not the case.
Read the history of Islam.
The Muslims, they ruled many countries.
And many of these countries, the citizens remain
holding their belief.
Muslims ruled Spain.
Christians remain Christians.
They didn't kill the Christians.
As a matter of fact, they were protecting
the Christians.
And protecting the Jews in Spain.
And the best golden period for the Jews
when they were in Spain living under the
Islamic rule.
The golden time for them, era.
That's what they, their historians are saying, telling
the truth.
So the Muslims, they didn't kill the Christians.
Don't you know that?
Who invited the Muslims to come to Spain?
The Christians themselves.
When they served the justice of Islam and
the oppression and the tyranny of their own
brothers who were ruling them.
So they called the Muslims.
The Muslims, when they left Spain, okay, because
the Muslims started sinning and leaving their deen
and got complacent with this worldly life.
And they were indulged into sinfulness, women and
alcohol.
That kingdom, that hukum, that glory, they lost
it.
The mother of the last king, a ruler,
when he was leaving Spain, he was crying.
His mother told him, cry like the women.
You did not protect this kingdom.
Now the Muslims are leaving Spain.
The Jews, they begged them, please take us
with you.
They were afraid that the Christians are going
to kill them.
So take us with you.
The Muslims told them, you are most welcome,
come.
And those Muslims, where did they go to?
To Morocco and go to jail.
And you will see the Jews who came
along with the Muslims there in Morocco living
peacefully.
So Islam didn't kill them, didn't kill the
Christians.
The Muslims ruled Egypt, go and see millions
and millions of the Christians.
They ruled India.
Muslims are minority in India, majority non-Muslims.
The Muslims didn't kill the Hindus.
So when you want to understand the ayat,
understand the context.
So this ayat is talking about the hypocrites
who were agents working for the enemies of
Islam, conspiring and plotting against the Muslims.
Allah is telling the Muslims, do not take
allies from among these hypocrites.
حتى يهاجروا في سبيل الله.
Unless they emigrate for the cause of Allah,
they leave.
Living among the disbelievers and helping
them against you.
They have to come to you.
That is the proof or sign of their
true belief.
حتى يهاجروا في سبيل الله.
So do not take them as protectors, allies,
those whom you can trust and confide in.
Unless they emigrate in the cause of Allah.
If they turn away and they don't want
to make the hijrah.
فخذوهم اقتلوهم.
So the ayat is talking about this group,
this particular group of people, the hypocrites.
فخذوهم اقتلوهم حيث وجدتوا موهم.
But if they turn away, then seize them
and kill them.
Because they are enemies for you, and they
are cooperating with your enemies, and they are
trying to cause the maximum harm to you.
Then kill them wherever you find them.
But if not general, wherever you find the
kafir, kill him.
Nonsense.
Don't you know that the Prophet ﷺ said,
من قتل معاهدا لم يرح رائحة الجنة.
If you kill any non-Muslim who was
giving visa in modern terminology, and he came
to the Muslim land, whether he's a tourist
or an expert, whatever, and any Muslim kills
him, this Muslim will not smell, will not
smell the fragrance of the Jannah.
لم يرح رائحة الجنة.
Because we have ensured him and gave him
the guarantee that he's going to be safe
in our land.
This is what Islam teaches.
What you hear in the news and some
ignorant Muslim kidnaps this tourist or that, this
is not what Islam teaches.
In Islam, if a child gave
the promise to a non-Muslim that your
life is going to be safe, I assure
you protection, a child, then
no one should touch that non-Muslim.
This Muslim child gave him the assurance, assured
him that he's going to be safe, his
life is going to be safe.
So you have to honor that and respect
it.
Even if a woman gave the promise to
a non-Muslim that you are going to
be protected and no one is going to
harm you, we have to accept it and
we have to protect him because our sister
promised him.
Ummu Hani came to the Prophet ﷺ and
said, I have given the promise to protect
this person.
The Prophet ﷺ told her, قَدْ أَجَلْنَا مَنْ
أَجَالَتْ أُمُّهَانِ We are going to protect whomever
Ummu Hani promised to protect.
This is our Islam.
Then Allah said, وَلَا تَتَّخِذُ مِنْهُمْ وَلِيًّا وَلَا
نَصِيرًا Don't take from among those hypocrites and
do not take any of them as allies
or helpers.
Allah says in Surah Az-Zukhruf ayah 31,
Yes and we are talking about what this
disease can do to the heart.
See the wish of the pagans here, the
wish of the pagans because of Hassan that
the Prophet ﷺ is from Banu Hashim.
You know what stopped Abu Jahl from becoming
a Muslim?
Abu Jahl, that the Prophet ﷺ is from
Banu Hashim, from the clan of Hashim.
He said, كُنَّا لَحْنُ وَبَنُوا حَاشِمْ كَفَرَ سَيِّدِي
هَانِ We were competing with Banu Hashim like
two horses in the race.
أَطْعَمُوا فَأَطْعَمْنَا They feed the pilgrims, we fed
the pilgrims.
سَقَوْا فَأَسْقَيْنَا They gave the pilgrims water, we
gave the pilgrims water.
So we were competing like two horses in
the track, in the race.
Then he said, and then all of a
sudden they are saying we have a Prophet.
Allah chose a Prophet from among us.
How can we do this?
That was his problem.
How can we do it?
We cannot have a Prophet from among us.
So it was the hasan.
Why this Prophet is from Banu Hashim?
Why?
So here this ayah talks about the wish
of the pagan.
وَقَالُوا لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ هَذَا الْقُرْآنُ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِّنَ
الْقَرْيَتَيْنِ عَظِيمٍ And they exclaimed, if
only this Quran was revealed to a great
man from one of the two cities.
A great man, great man.
This is the wish.
They wished that Allah had chosen
from the two cities Mecca and Al-Ta
'if one of the leaders there.
From Mecca, Al-Waleed ibn al-Mughirah.
So they said, why Allah didn't make Al
-Waleed ibn al-Mughirah a Prophet?
Or, Urwa ibn Mas'ud al-Thaqafi from
Al-Ta'if.
Al-Waleed ibn al-Mughirah from Mecca.
Urwa ibn Mas'ud al-Thaqafi from Al
-Ta'if.
So this is their wish.
If only this Quran was revealed to a
great man from one of the two cities,
Mecca and Al-Ta'if.
Mecca, Al-Waleed ibn al-Mughirah, the father
of Khalid ibn al-Waleed, because he died
as a muslim, and Al-Ta'if, Urwa
ibn Mas'ud al-Thaqafi.
That is ayah 31 in Surat al-Zukhruf.
Ayah 32 of Surat al-Zukhruf, the answer
came from Allah.
Allah is one name.
That was their wish.
Allah revealed it.
The answer, the translation, is it they who
distribute your lord's mercy?
We alone have distributed their very livelihood among
them in this worldly life, and raised some
of them in rank above others.
So that some may employ others in service,
but your lord's mercy is far better than
whatever wealth they amass.
Let us pause and reflect.
In response to their wish, Allah said, Ahum
yaqsimuna rahmatan rabbika?
Is it they, the pagans, who are entitled
to distribute Allah's rahmah, the rahmah of your
rabb?
The rahmah here is the prophethood.
Understand this, huh?
Because the ayah before is talking about one
of the two cities, the chiefs of the
two cities, to be a prophet.
So prophethood, the nubuwwah, is the rahmah.
And you can't refer to the books of
Tafsir.
So Allah's telling them, Is it you who
decide where the prophethood has to be?
This rahmah, the prophethood, the nubuwwah, sending you
a prophet.
You decide?
We alone have distributed, then the ayah to
a continuation, we alone have distributed their very
livelihood among themselves in this worldly life.
So the one who divides the spiritual blessings
and material ones, Allah, nahnu qasamna baynahum ma
'ishatahum fil hayatid dunya.
Allah is the one who distributes the livelihood
for everyone.
And Allah chooses where to send his message
and upon whom.
nahnu qasamna baynahum ma'ishatahum fil hayatid dunya.
Our livelihood is distributed by Allah.
You are rich, he is poor, you are
in between.
So not all of us are rich.
Not all of us are very poor.
Not below poverty line, no.
So there are different grades.
There's wisdom behind that.
Wisdom behind that.
So that we serve each other.
I am in need of you.
You are in need of me.
And no one is better than the other.
Keep this in mind.
You are not better than the one who
collects the garbage or the trash.
You're not better than him.
If those collectors of the trash, they go
and strike, okay?
You living in your palace, okay, will
fall sick immediately.
Because all your garbage will be there.
So you need someone to take your garbage.
And once you are in need of somebody
else, you are not better than him.
One of the Muslim scholars, al-Rahimahullah, he
wrote a small book, beautiful book in Arabic,
Rizq.
And he mentioned there, in this beautiful book,
Rizq, the provision.
He said, you cannot increase your provision, your
Rizq, your sustenance, but you can increase your
income.
Because what is the meaning of Rizq?
A Rizq is what you consume.
My Rizq, my provision, my sustenance, what I
consume.
If my salary, for example, $5,000, and
I consume per month, and I consume, for
example, $1,000, that is my Rizq.
The $4,000, they are the Rizq and
the provision of somebody else, the children.
And he mentioned in that book, al-Rahimahullah,
he said, imagine this person who is a
multimillionaire.
And normally, on the weekends, he goes to
his mansion, to his beautiful house on the
countryside.
You spend the weekend there to have peace
of mind.
When he reached his palace there, his resort,
he was shocked because he found that the
sewer system is blocked.
So the impurity, the waste, okay, is overflowing.
The corridors, the beautiful rooms, and the beautiful
Persian carpets are soaked with the najasa, with
the dirt, human waste.
Stinky!
He was shocked.
He is shocked.
He couldn't do anything.
What to do?
Immediately, pick the line, calling the plumber.
He needs the plumber to come.
The plumber lives far away from where he
lives.
The plumber picks the phone.
Hello, I am so-and-so, please come
immediately.
Sir, I am not free.
Please come.
I will pay you whatever you want.
Sir, I know your place is far away
and I don't have a car.
I will come myself and pick you up.
So he drives his this expensive car, this
Rolls Royce.
He reaches there.
The plumber is crossing his legs, sipping his
tea, enjoying himself, feeling happy.
Please come.
Sir, wait, let me finish my tea.
This multi-millionaire is in need of the
plumber.
So he has to wait.
The plumber finishes his tea.
I'm translating to you what the Sheikh mentioned.
The plumber took his shoes, went to the
beautiful house, put on his plastic gloves on
and the boots, started touching the impurity, removing
the objects that are blocking the sewer system.
Everything became normal.
Now using clean water, flushing everything, washing and
the carpets with shampoo and with everything, spray
good perfume.
Now everything is fine.
Now the plumber, sir, my job is over.
Finished my wage and please drop me back.
So keep this in mind always.
No one is better than the other.
We human beings are dependent on each other.
The loaf of bread you eat, see how
many are there in the chain.
The one who planted the wheat, who watered
it, okay, was taking care of the crop,
harvest it, harvest the crop, grind it, sift
it, pack it, take it to the bakery.
The one who made the dough, the one
who baked, the one who packed it, the
one who put it on the shelf on
the supermarket.
How many are there to make you able
to have that loaf of bread?
So no one better than anyone.
We are all equal.
So listen to this beautiful ayah.
Allah is mentioning this fact.
And raise some of them a rank, human
beings, a rank.
What for?
To oppress each other?
How?
So that some may employ others in service.
That they serve one another.
He has money, I don't have money, so
I work for him.
Imagine all of you are rich, all of
you will die.
Because who's going to do the work of
the farm, the farmer?
No one.
So no bread, no food, starvation.
You will die with your money.
You will not eat money.
You need loaf of bread.
So Allah, He made all of us, you
know, the wheel and there is this gears,
each one gear is driving another gear.
We are like that.
This is the cycle of life.
So that some may employ others in service.
And Allah's mercy, the mercy of our Rabb,
the Hidayah, the guidance and entering the Jannah
is far better than whatever wealth they amass
and they accumulate.
Also Allah mentioned about the people of the
scriptures.
In surah Ash-Shura, because this is what
the hasad does.
They did not split into sects.
And the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam mentioned,
he said, the Jews were divided into 71
sects.
One will be delivered, 70 will go to
*.
Christians into 72 sects.
One will be delivered, those who are the
followers of Christ alayhi s-salam, the Muslims.
The Jews, those, the true followers of Musa
alayhi s-salam.
And my ummah will be divided into 73
sects.
One will be delivered, 72 will go to
*.
They did not split into sects out of
mutual envy until Noli came to them.
After they got the ilm, now they were,
they got split into sects.
Had it not been for a prior decree
from your Lord for an appointed term, the
matter would have certainly been settled between them
at once.
So they were divided and they were saying,
this is, there's wisdom behind it.
And this split and division will be settled
on that day.
Walaw la kalimatun sabaqat man rabbik, the divine
decree of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, that
this what will happen and this how they
will teach each other.
So Allah knew that and allowed it to
happen.
For a divine wisdom behind it.
Had it not been for a prior decree
from your Lord for an appointed term, and
that is where everyone will be held accountable
on that day, the matter would have certainly
been settled between them at once.
Allah could have punished them and settled their
dispute while they are here.
But no, there is divine wisdom behind what
Allah decrees.
Also, Allah said in surat al-Hashr, tahsabuhum
jamee'an wa quloobuhum shakta.
Thalika bi'annahum qawmun la ya'qilun, you
think they are united, yet their hearts are
divided.
Yes, you think the disbelievers and the kuffar,
one heart?
No, you think so.
But in reality, they're not.
You think they are united, yet their hearts
are divided.
Thalika bi'annahum qawmun la ya'qilun, because
there are people who do not understand.
Do not understand.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala save us
from going astray.
And may Allah save us from this disease.
And may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala keep
us, remain steadfast on this beautiful deen, al
-Islam.
May Allah make us die as Muslims.
This beautiful deen, this great blessing.
Thank Allah, my dear brothers and sisters, you
are Muslim.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala forgive us
our faults, mistakes, and ignorance.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala bless us
with the beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds.
And may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala guide
our Ummah to the Haqq.
And unite our hearts upon the truth.
And may Allah reward all of you, my
dear brothers and sisters, immensely for your patience
and attendance.
We've received a few questions.
Let me know when you receive the first
one.
Okay, okay, go ahead.
The first question.
I would like to know if it's as
per Sunnah to make children of the house
sit between Asr and Maghrib and keep reciting
Salam upon the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wa sallam.
And they also feel this would help ease
their problems too.
On Jum'ah, the questioner is asking about
what Muslims should do on Friday, because on
Friday there is one hour, and hour means
period of time, not 60 minutes, where anyone's
dua will be accepted, will be accepted.
And the strongest opinion among the Muslim scholars
that this hour is after Asr up to
Maghrib.
So after Asr and Maghrib, this time is
time for dua.
Okay, and sending salawat upon the Prophet, salallahu
alayhi wa sallam, etc.
So Muslims, they keep themselves busy with that
in this period of time.
So if you are teaching the children that,
that is something praiseworthy and beautiful and recommended.
And so if he is a small child,
he cannot make dua.
So he is next to you, and he
hears you are making the dua.
Okay, so he's learning.
But if they can make dua by themselves,
we teach them to just to act like
adults.
I hope the question, the answer is clear
if I got the question right.
Sheikh, the questioner has clarified that they want
to do this daily.
So between Asr to Maghrib daily, they want
to send salawat upon the Prophet.
Then bid'ah, this is bid'ah, this
is bid'ah then.
Next.
Listen to me, brothers and sisters.
Our deen, Allah said, the Prophet said.
Who is our example?
Not Mawlana, not the Pir, no.
Our example, Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
We follow him, just that, very simple.
And this is not his sunnah.
Next question, please.
The next question, how to deal with anxiety
and betrayal by your loved ones?
Sabr, this is, it is painful.
Painful, especially if the harm comes from those
who are close to you.
It is so painful, but no doubt, it
is a test from Allah.
Test from Allah.
So we need sabr.
Okay, whatever happens to you, you need to
have sabr.
Sabr is the cure.
Regarding anxiety, you need to have tawakkul, put
your trust in Allah, and get closer to
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
So when you have this yaqeen, and you
put, you put your trust in Allah, then
these worries will vanish.
And of course, what will strengthen the iman,
reading the Book of Allah, the dhikr, the
istighfar, the salawat, the nawafil, get close to
Allah, and of course, leaving all types of
sins.
Because when you're, when we continue sinning and
indulge in sinfulness, what happens, all sins, they
weaken the heart.
So our hearts will become weak.
Once the heart becomes weak, we become, we
fear everything, afraid of everything.
Okay, but when the heart is strong, because
of the iman, then these worries, they vanish
by default.
So you need to have sabr, and you
need to have strong iman, and you need
to build your iman, may Allah azza wa
jal grant all of us beautiful patience, sabrul
jameel, and strong iman.
Ameen.
Next.
Ameen.
Barak Allafiq, the next question.
My nuclear and extended family regularly visits my
grandmother's grave, and even many years after she
has passed away.
We do this every other month, and every
Eid without fail.
Some of the practices they engage in ignorantly,
facing the grave, touching where her feet would
be, and standing around the grave, sometimes even
facing the grave, when making dua.
What is the ruling on this?
Is it wrong to travel hours to visit
her grave and remember her?
And what would be the correct way to
avoid this, as my family get angry when
I refuse to go?
No, this is, if they're traveling to visit
the grave, this is not correct.
Not correct.
Making dua for the deceased, that is, well,
I'm fine.
If the grave is, the cemetery or the
graveyard closed, and you go anytime, you're not
specific day, and you make dua, that's sort
of acceptable.
But to make a specific day, and you
travel for that, that will, what for?
What for?
Your dua will reach this person, wherever you
are.
Make dua for her, from where you are
living.
No need for you to travel for hundreds
of miles, to come to her grave, etc.
This is not the sunnah.
It's not the sunnah.
Next.
Barak Allafiq, the next question.
How often should we pray istikhara for a
matter?
You can pray istikhara more than once, maybe
three times, okay?
Then, till you feel that it's okay to
proceed.
Though, you don't wait for feeling, or dream,
or something like that.
Or you ask someone, imam, to make istikhara
for you, no?
The istikhara, you consult Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala, okay?
And after praying the istikhara, you proceed.
You proceed.
But it is permissible to repeat istikhara more
than once.
You can't repeat it.
Next.
And my dear brothers and sisters, please make
your questions short and sweet.
Very short.
No need to give me background.
To the point.
Yes, my brother, go ahead.
Barak Allafiq, the next question.
What is the ruling on a woman who
packs all her stuff and leaves behind her
husband without any divorce, nor khala?
Her claims is that she is not content
with her husband's low financial income.
She decided to leave him anyhow.
The question, to be honest, is not clear
to me.
What the questioner is trying to say?
What is the ruling on the woman?
Does she have to go back?
Or how would one proceed with this situation?
No, the question is talking about, because the
funds are small, I cannot read it clearly.
Sorry, I read out the next question.
The question is...
I think you mixed two questions together.
Oh, I'll repeat again.
The question is, if I owe someone money
and I tell him to recharge my phone
limit with airtime worth the same amount of
money, instead of sending...
What is airtime?
I'm not sure.
OK, can the questioner just rephrase the question,
please?
OK, next question, please.
Is it the question on the ruling on
the woman?
OK.
Yeah.
So the ruling, the question is, what is
the ruling on the woman who packs all
her stuff and leaves her husband without any
divorce or hudah?
Her claims is that she's not content with
her husband's low financial income and she decided
to leave him anyhow.
Of course, she is sinful.
No woman is allowed to leave her husband
with no valid reason.
If he is taking care of her and
she has no valid reason.
She just decided to leave her husband.
No.
The marital life.
OK.
Allah calls this bond, strong bond between the
wedlock between husband and wife.
Just to decide to leave him just like
that.
This is a joke.
She is sinful.
She needs to repent.
OK.
Because he has low financial income.
You accepted him from before.
What happened?
Because now you want to be like other
women.
And maybe someone else is whispering into your
ears.
What is this?
See your furniture?
See your clothes?
See, see what type of husband you have?
You force him and you will get someone
who is well off.
And you will have a luxurious life.
Luxury.
There are many women, shayateen, just spreading this
venom and poison and destroying Muslim families.
So my advice for this sister, fear Allah.
Stay in your home.
Stay with your husband.
Allah will make it easy, inshallah.
And his income will improve.
Both of you, you need to make dua.
And the husband, he should try his best
to improve his income.
Either to look for a better job, etc.
And my dear sister, listen to me.
What is the meaning of the marriage?
What is it?
To have a romance?
Fulfilling your biological needs?
That's it?
The marriage is sacrificing.
You give.
You stand by each other.
You support each other.
The true wife, the sincere wife, the wife
who fears Allah, will not leave her husband
when he is in difficult situations.
The pious woman, the pious wife, will tell
her husband, don't worry, I will be with
you.
Even if we have to live only with
dry bread and water.
Don't worry about that.
But I will be with you.
Even I am ready to live with you
in a tent.
This is the good wife.
But the problem with many men, they don't
make the right choice.
From the beginning, when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam said, choose the one who has
religious commitment.
Religiously committed to the deen.
The one who has deen will stand by
you.
But if you chose her because she is
beautiful, she is glorious, she is, she is.
The moment what she is used to dropped,
he will say, you are not my cup
of tea.
Go to your mum.
Next question.
There is a brother who wants to ask
a question live.
Is that okay?
Okay.
Yeah, brother, I'm going to ask you a
question now.
Sheikh, my question is, so there is a
brother, he studies at like Hanafi Institute, which
is more like Sufi inclined.
And he partakes in the mawlid.
The way he partakes in it is, he
doesn't single out a specific day.
But in one day in Rabiul Awal, he
would spend time reciting Quran or doing dhikr.
And he said that is how he partakes
in the mawlid.
And this brother is also looking for marriage.
Would it be advisable or permissible to marry
such a brother?
In other aspects of his deen, he is
fine.
Like, you know, Salah and all of that.
How is his belief?
How is his aqeedah?
His aqeedah, it might be problematic.
I mean, does he believe in the saints
and calling the saints and grave worship?
No.
So his problem only this, that he is
attending the mawlid?
Yes, in the mawlid.
Only?
Yes.
Okay.
Anyway, may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala guide
this brother and strengthen his iman and make
him follow the sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ
and leave this bid'ah.
Because sometimes, my dear brothers and sisters, a
person inside himself, he knows it is wrong.
But because of the pressure of the society
or the family, so he cannot confront them
and tell them that this is an innovation,
this is bid'ah, because they are not
ready to listen to him.
Only Allah knows what he is having in
mind.
And if he is ignorant, he doesn't know
that this is bid'ah, he needs to
be educated.
He needs to be taught.
So if he is proposing to a sister
who is, masha'Allah, practicing upon kitab and
sunnah and following the correct methodology and correct
path, okay, I will not recommend that he
accept this brother if he has issues.
Not that it is halal, no, but because
this is going to cause problems for her
later on.
And normally a woman is weak and the
man influences his wife.
And this practicing sister who is upon kitab
and sunnah will be influenced by him.
But if he is ready to improve and
he is living what he is doing and
he is quitting, then there is no harm,
as long as his aqeedah is the correct
belief, he is not having issues of the
shirk or bid'ah, apart from what is
mentioned.
And the sister is so confident and sure
that he is ready to change and to
leave all these things, that's fine.
But if he is adamant and he says,
no, I'm going to continue doing this, then
sorry from the beginning, because you don't want
to have issues later on in your marital
life.
I hope this is clear to you.
Barak Allahu Akbar.
The question from the previous question has clarified.
Airtime, it means the phone card.
The airtime he was referring to refers to
the phone card.
Phone call, okay.
The phone card, the card, so we can
make the phone call on credit.
Okay, on credit using a phone card, okay.
Yeah, so the question was, if I owe
someone money and I tell him to recharge
my phone with the phone card worth the
same amount of money instead of sending me
money, is this permissible?
Because I heard from a sheikh that if
someone owes another person some money, it is
the money he has to return instead of
something else worth the same amount.
Okay, now, for example, if this money, which
he owes, and it is going to be
given to you in the form of the
service of this telephone call or in the
card, the card has this value, okay, he
owes you 100, for example, $10 and the
card, the value of it is $10, there's
no problem.
Okay, and there's no riba here.
Okay, there's no riba here because riba is
only when you exchange gold with gold or
silver with silver, the items mentioned there.
Okay, but I gave you this card, which
is the value of it, okay, is this
much money, and if you can also give
it to the one who issued the card,
he will give you that money.
So, what's the problem here?
I don't see any problem here.
Next.
Barak Habib Sheikh, the next question, what about
if a woman and her husband got into
a misunderstanding and the wife takes the children
to her family's house and the husband says
to those accommodating, don't give any food to
my child, and if you do so, it
is haram.
Does it become haram to say that?
He's telling his in-laws, don't feed my
children?
Yes.
So, what does he want?
He wants his children to starve or he's
going to bring the food for his children.
If he's going to bring the food for
his children, okay, and say, give them this
food, which I brought, he doubts, for example,
the food provides by his in-laws, maybe
the income of his in-laws is doubtful,
something like that.
Then I can understand, but to tell the
in-laws, do not feed my children.
Okay, your child is crying.
What should they do?
Bring the food for your child.
Okay, next question, please.
Barak Habib, the next question, what can I
recite on my son?
He is 15 and always wants to play
online games.
How can I advise him?
Now, when he is 15, you spoiled him.
When he was young, you are the one
who was buying for him the PlayStations.
He became an addict and now he woke
up.
Come on, parents, wake up.
You spoil the kids and then you want
magical prescription.
We spoil the children.
We spoil them.
You think that is the sign of love
when you are actually pampering the children.
We spoil them.
So now he is 15.
Teenager.
He is a teen now.
Just talk to him.
Try to make him understand.
Tell him, just reduce the number of hours.
If these games are, you can block.
For example, he is using the internet.
You can, there are softwares, you can block
the number of hours.
From this time to this time, only after
that, you will not be able to reach
and access the site or the app itself.
It will not work because you are blocking
it.
So you have to think along that line.
But first of all, try to make him
understand and to convince him.
And make you ask Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala to give hidayah to your son.
Next.
Barak Allafeeh Sheikh, the previous question, the questioner
has elaborated.
He said the husband, he wants the responsibility
of the children and feeding them for himself
because the woman took her, took them without
his permission.
Okay, fine.
Is he going to bring the food?
Yes.
Fine, okay.
So he is bringing the food and he's
telling his wife or ex-wife, feed my
children this food.
Maybe he doubts that the food of the
in-laws is not from halal money.
Or there is doubt about it or shubha.
So he wants his children to eat halal
and he is providing.
What's the problem?
I don't see any problem here.
Next.
The next question is, Barak Allafeeh, the next
question is, if the husband has an argument
with his wife and says to her at
the end, get out of my house without
giving a clear signal of talaq, can we
consider this as a talaq or not?
No, it's not talaq.
Talaq has to be attent, articulated.
He has to say, you are divorced, you
are balik, not go to your family.
I don't want to see your face.
That's not talaq, no.
Regarding this dua, hadith, I didn't come across
it.
But if it is authentic, alhamdulillah, say, if
the hadith is authentic, then say, there is
no problem.
Our life is based on, Allah said, the
Prophet said, if the Prophet of Allah taught
us a particular dua and we know it
is authentic, we practice it.
Next.
Barak Allafeeh, the next question, I am just
curious as to why Allah has given importance
to certain subjects like the moon as month's
calculation depends on it and the most important
month of Ramadan too.
Would this sighting moon as like end with
it?
And we read the dua to the moon,
you and my Lord is one, and we
ask Allah to protect us from the moon
and so on.
First of all, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
knows and we don't know.
Anything Allah says, there is wisdom behind it.
Sometimes we know the hikmah, the wisdom, sometimes
we don't.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala linked the obligations,
the prayers, the fast, the hajj, okay, with
the prayers linked to the sun.
By seeing the sun, you know the time
of the prayers.
When the day breaks, the sun rises, the
day begins.
When the light on the horizon, okay, the
horizontal light is breaking, day is breaking, time
for fajr.
So we know now time for fajr, no
need for clock, no need for anything because
the gene of Islam is so simple, it
is applicable for the nomadic tribes in the
Sahara desert, in the Arabian desert.
They know now time for the salah because
the day is breaking and the time will
last up to sunrise.
Time of the fajr, from sunrise till the
sun is in the middle, after the sun
rises above the horizon, this is time for
dhuhr prayers.
We can pray dhuhr now until noon.
The moment the sun starts to move and
objects start to cast shadow, dhuhr time and
it's will continue until the object and the
shadow equal each other.
Asr time will start and asr time will
continue until sunset.
That is the time for asr, you can
pray at any time.
The sunset, maghrib time, and the maghrib time
will last when the brightness and the dusk
disappears and that brightness on the horizon disappears,
ishr time.
And ishr time will go on until midnight,
so no need for a clock.
I know the timing of the salawat.
Ramadan with the moon, the month, how we
calculate the month, the moon.
And it can be 30 days or 29
days.
So Allah appointed these objects, sun and the
moon, as token for the knowing the time.
And they are very precise.
The clock in your hand, the watch, this
watch, don't you know it is synchronized with
the atomic clock?
And the atomic clock is synchronized with the
star.
So Allah the All-Wise, He knows.
So now we know how to calculate the
month, the days, the years.
Very simple.
I hope this is clear to the questioner.
Next.
Sheikh, the question you just answered, the question
that you just answered has something about making
dua that Allah protect us from the moon
and so on.
The Prophet ﷺ taught us that when you
see the crescent of a new month, you
pray to Allah to make this month blessed
for you.
And this month, this moon appeared by the
will of Allah.
And who is the Rabb of this moon?
Who created it?
Allah.
So you are created, the moon is created,
so don't worship the moon.
The moon worships Allah.
And the moon is one of the creatures
of Allah, like you.
So my Lord is Allah and your Lord
is Allah.
And then you ask Allah to make this
month a blessed month for you.
Beautiful.
Because everything Allah created worships Allah.
Everything.
Everything glorifies Allah.
And the Muslim, he lives in harmony with
all these what they call the natural phenomena.
We live in harmony.
When we see the lunar eclipse or the
solar eclipse, we turn to Allah and pray
to Allah.
Oh Allah, normalize everything.
Imagine this eclipse lasts longer.
Do you know what will happen to us?
What will happen to the tides?
The tides.
Tidal waves.
Because this cause when the moon and the
sun are close to each other, there is
something called gravitational pull and that cause the
waves.
And the force that will be generated is
so enormous if this lasts longer.
Because the distance is getting closer between the
two celestial bodies.
And you know force equal constant K m1
into m2 over the d squared, the distance
between the two.
So when we see this phenomenon, we turn
to Allah.
It is Allah who is behind all this.
And he is threatening us with these signs.
So we turn to him, we repent and
we ask forgiveness.
I hope this was clear to the questioner.
Next.
Yes, Barak Allafiq, just two more questions left.
The first one is, my friend's husband went
into hiding.
He told on her phone, it is over.
Then sent in a month afterwards, sent an
email stating, I divorce you three times.
It was sent by the Sharia agency in
the UK, which has a bad reputation.
My friend's husband, what
to do?
If he divorced her and he told her,
called her, said you are divorced.
And he said, I divorce you three times.
Here, this has to be taken to the
Imam or the Muslim.
If this is the first time he divorced
her.
Is this, Barak, Barak, Barak, three times valid?
All are considered controversial issues between Muslim scholars.
The strongest that it is one talaq, if
it is the same talaq, talaq, talaq.
Because the three times means he divorced her,
took her back, divorced her.
That's the second talaq.
Then he divorced her, took her back, then
he divorced her.
That is the three talaq.
So this issue has to be taken to
the scholar or to the qadi, if you
are in a Muslim country, or the imams
or the ulama in your area to look
into this matter.
But once, no doubt, talaq happens because he
talked to you and he said, you are
divorced.
I divorce you.
May Allah guide him and guide you.
Next.
Barak Dhafiq, the last question is, please share
the best duas to read to ease heartache.
I don't recall any dua for the ache
in the heart, for heartache.
Okay.
But no doubt, all the duas are cure.
And the dhikr is the cure for the
heart.
Because Allah says, In the remembrance of Allah,
the heart finds serenity, peace.
But if you feel pain in any part
of your body, the Prophet ﷺ taught us
this, to put your hand on the place
where you feel the pain and you say
seven times, A'udhu bi'izzati Allahi wa
qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhir.
A'udhu bi'izzati Allahi wa qudratihi min
sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhir.
You repeat this seven times and it will
disappear if you are saying it with ikhlas
and yaqeen.
Next.
Barak Dhafiq Sheikh and jazakallah khayran for all
the students attending.
This was the last question and may Allah
accept the attendance from all the students and
accept it from the Sheikh for giving the
beautiful reminder and the lesson.
Barak Dhafiq wa jazakallah khayran.
Assalamu alaikum.
Wa alaikumussalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala reward all
of you immensely for your patience and attendance.
Until we meet insha'Allah in the coming
session, I leave you in Allah's company and
protection.
Fihifdhullahi wa ri'ayyikihi.
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu.
