Greetings to all the listeners in Islam.
Today is our weekly class, Fadwā ilá l
-Islām, Virtues of Islām, by al-Imām al
-Mujaddid, Shaykh Muḥammad al-Ḥabib al-Waḥāb, رحمه
الله تعالى.
And in the last session, we went through
the importance of following the sunnah and avoiding
the innovations and bid'ah in the deen.
And there is no good bid'ah or
bid'ah hasanah in the deen.
The deen has been completed, perfected, so every
innovation in the deen is harām.
It's harām.
Because simply, it is perfect, complete.
So if we accept the innovations in the
deen, that means the deen is incomplete.
And if the deen is incomplete, Allah saying
it is complete, He completed it, that means
something happened in between.
That means we are accusing that our Prophet
ﷺ had part of it.
So he didn't deliver the message entirely and
completely.
So those who are saying it is bid
'ah hasanah, and they mean bid'ah in
the deen, they don't know what is coming
out of their heads.
And they misunderstood what some of the ulama,
like Imam Shabir, who said the bid'ah
can be classified into the five categories or
the five rulings of the shariah.
Because you know the five rulings of the
shariah, harām, makruh, fard, sunnah, and nubah.
So he said these five rulings can be
applied for any bid'ah.
So here there is a misunderstanding.
Because the bid'ah, linguistically, anything in you,
anything in you, it's called bid'ah.
So the new things that happen and inventions,
yes, they will fall under one of the
five rulings of the shariah, no doubt.
No doubt.
Anything in you, for example now, using the
technology, using the telephone, or the mobile phone,
or satellite, they fall under one of the
five rulings of the shariah.
Which means these things are mubah, permissible.
How about the nuclear weapons?
They fall under one of the rulings of
the shariah, which is harām.
You use the nuclear weapons to wipe humanity.
So what Imam Shafi'i is saying, anything
invented can fall under one of the five
categories of the five rulings of the shariah.
How about inventing in the deen?
According to Imam Shafi'i, it falls under
the harām.
It falls under the harām to add something
into the deen.
Adding anything into the deen is harām.
It falls under one of the five rulings,
which is the harām, because the deen has
been perfected and completed.
So you cannot use that as an argument
or a proof to justify for yourself adding
new things and new matters into the deen.
Because the Prophet ﷺ made it clear.
Whoever invents anything in our matter, in our
deen, it will not be accepted.
It will be rejected.
That's number one.
Number two, you have to keep in mind
that our deen, Islām, is taken from the
kitab and sunnah.
That's it.
We are not following this imam or that
imam because he is so and so.
No.
This imam, this alim, his statement, his sayings
should be checked against the criterion, the wahy.
If it agrees, complies with the wahy, we
accept it.
If it doesn't agree, doesn't comply, we reject
it.
And this particular imam or alim, he will
be rewarded if he was correct twice, if
he was mistaken once.
But we should not follow him.
That's why the ulama, they say, kalāmu l-'ālim
kalāmu l-'ālim yustadallu lahū lā bihi Memorize this.
kalāmu l-'ālim yustadallu lahū lā bihi I repeat,
kalāmu l-'ālim yustadallu lahū lā bihi The saying
and the statement of a scholar is not
an evidence in itself.
It's not a proof in itself.
It rather needs a proof to support it.
So the saying of an imam is not
a proof in itself.
By default, oh, this imam said that, so
that is evidence or deline, no.
We look for an evidence from the Kitab
and the Sunnah to support what this imam
said and to see what did he base
his judgment upon.
Where did he deduce that legal ruling from?
Keep this in mind.
Because some Muslims think, oh, since this imam
said this, enough.
No, that's not true.
So there's no good innovation in the Deen.
The Deen has been completed and perfected.
So there's nothing called bid'ah hasanah.
There is sunnah hasanah and sunnah sayyi'ah.
That's it, the Prophet mentioned.
Sunnah hasanah as we came across the hadith
of the group of people who came to
Medina from Mudar, tribe of Mudar.
They were hungry, in bad condition, no
clothes, almost naked.
So when the Prophet saw their condition, he
encouraged the Muslims to give sadaqah.
So one of the Sahaba stood up and
he went to his home and brought few
coins of gold and placed it in front
of the Prophet.
So when the Sahaba saw that, everyone went
to his house.
Someone brought some clothes, some food and now
there are two piles.
One pile of food, another pile of clothes
and a few coins of gold.
When the Prophet saw that, his face lit
up like the moon.
And he said man sanna fil islam sunnatan
hasanah, which means whoever does something good like
this, what this man did, which is the
sadaqah, so he becomes the initiator, the one
who initiated, the one who opened the door
for the rest to follow him.
Then, he will be rewarded and not only
that, and those who followed him, he will
also have their rewards added to his record
without diminishing their rewards.
That is the example of bid'ah hasanah.
The example of bid'ah saya'ah, evil
way or sunnah saya'ah, because sunnah means
way.
The Prophet gave an example of the son
of Adam, Cain, who killed his brother Abel
because he was the first one to commit
crime on earth, the murder.
So now, every day a murder is committed,
part of the punishment and the of this
crime is added.
He will be questioned for that on the
day of resurrection.
So imagine the millions of people who were
killed, the first son of Adam will be
questioned about that because he is the one
who told them how to kill.
Another hadith, before we move to the new
topic or the continuation, the hadith of Abu
Hurairah that the Prophet said whoever invites to
guidance will have a reward like the reward
of those who follow him, nothing less than
that.
And whoever invites to misguidance will have a
reward like the reward of those who follow
him, nothing less than that.
Abu Hurairah reported, Allah's Messenger said, if anyone
calls others to follow right guidance, this is
the sunnah hasanah, his reward will be equivalent.
For example, sunnah hasanah as I mentioned in
last session, in some Muslim countries they pray
the Eid in the mosque, in the masajid,
and that's not the sunnah.
The sunnah, the normal practice of the Prophet,
yes it is permissible, if for example there
is rain, whatever reason, but normally the sunnah
of the Eid outside in the musallah, this
sunnah is still being dead in many Muslim
countries, and that's why there are, mashallah,
some brothers are reviving this sunnah.
So this, reviving this sunnah, this is sunnah
hasanah, sunnah hasanah.
So now all those who follow them and
start doing the same thing, the one who
initiated this, who revived the sunnah, he will
receive the reward of all those who followed
him.
So his reward will be equivalent to those
who follow him, a righteousness, without their reward
being diminished in any respect.
And if anyone invites others to follow error,
misguidance, then the sin will be equivalent to
that of the people who follow him, in
sinfulness.
So if someone, like the first son of
Adam, who told the people how to kill,
now every day a soul is killed, a
human being is killed, he also gets part
of that, and he will be held accountable
before Allah, without their sins being diminished in
any respect.
Then the author, rahimallah, said, babu maja'a
annallaha ihtajara tawbata ala sahib al-bid'ah.
What has been said in the sunnah, that
Allah okay, deprives the innovator from
repentance.
Allah deprives him of accepting his repentance, or
of granting him, rather to be more precise,
of granting him tawbah, or guiding him to
repent.
So he dies upon the bid'ah.
That's why, my dear brothers and sisters, remember,
I'm thinking now, actually, my dear brothers and
sisters, of making tests for you, testing you,
written exam.
Are you ready for that?
If you are students of knowledge, this will
show if you are committed students of knowledge
or not.
Do you remember what Imam Ibn al-Qayyim
mentioned?
The obstacles, the shaitan, and the traps set
up, and the snares set up in your
way to the Jannah, the seven ones, shirk,
number one, bid'ah, major sins, minor sins,
then doing the
least rewardable and missing the most high rewardable,
doing a deed that has less reward than
and missing the deed that has high reward.
And number six, the halal, permissible things.
So shaitan tries to stop you from reaching
the Jannah.
And the seventh one, confrontation, direct confrontation with
the shaitan.
So the shaitan puts these barriers, seven barriers,
between you and the Jannah.
First one, shirk.
If you fell in this trap, then the
shaitan would feel unhappy because you fell in
the trap.
Shirk.
If you know to hide and you escape,
then the second trap, which is bid'ah.
See, after the shirk, the bid'ah, if
you know the sunnah, you overcome that obstacle.
You know the sunnah, so you avoid the
bid'ah.
Then he puts the third trap, which is
taba'ib, major sins.
So the bid'ah comes before the major
sins.
Yes.
And they are more dangerous than major sins.
Because the one who commits a major sin,
one who drinks alcohol or commits zina, adultery,
fornication, he knows what he's doing or what
he's doing is haram.
And there's a chance for him or her
to repent.
But the one who's doing bid'ah, he
will not repent.
Why?
Simply because he believes it is part of
the deen.
Then it is impossible to leave part of
the deen.
So he will die while practicing bid'ah.
So the shaitan, trap number one, shirk, bid
'ah, major sins.
So if you have managed to avoid falling
into this pit and trap of major sins,
minor sins, safaya, where shaitan tries to convince
you, to make you treat the sins lightly
and trivialize what you are doing, your sins.
The sahabi said told the tabi'een, there
are things you are doing, we used to
treat them as major sins.
We look to our sins like a mountain
is about to fall on top of our
heads.
And you treat your sins like a fly
fell on the nose of one of you
and he did like this.
So that is minor sins.
And shirk, bid'ah, major sins, minor sins.
Fifth, you are close to the jannah.
This is a recap for you so that
you can take notes.
He has to compromise with you.
So instead of letting you do something that
has great reward, he will tell you to
do something that has less reward.
So he will start by gaining with you.
Because the shaitan is a crafty guy and
he knows how to play with our minds.
I remember one of our mashayekh said tonight,
he was giving us a lecture talk, he
said I want each one of you to
read two chapters of the Quran to Yusuf.
And I will tell you in advance what
will happen.
The moment you open the mushaf, you start
feeling drowsy, sleepy.
Continue.
You finish one page, two pages, three pages,
shaitan will tell you mashallah, mashallah.
Enough.
Everyday you don't read anything.
Today, mashallah, three pages.
Enough.
Don't listen.
Continue.
Now you reach half the juz' Shaitan will
say enough.
Tonight, enough.
Don't listen.
Continue.
Shaitan now is boiling.
He will go and bring your wife and
she will come and she will tell you
the dinner is ready.
Only that night she she came to tell
you the dinner is ready.
Every night she tell you you know where
to find it.
The sheikh said don't listen to her.
Continue.
Tell her okay, okay.
I will eat later.
Continue.
Finish the first juz' Start the second.
Shaitan now will go mad.
He will go and bring her back and
she will come and look at you.
She said your family they have right over
you.
Hello.
Only tonight every night you ask.
She says I have a headache.
But that night your family they have right
over you.
Tell her yes.
I will finish and come.
Continue.
Till you finish.
So you see the shaitan he bargains with
you.
This is tab number five.
Number five.
He will not allow you to do something
that has more reward.
He will say okay do this but that
thing you miss it.
And this requires perseverance and strong will.
The sixth halal.
He will just catch you in the halal
circle.
Why don't you start a business?
Why don't you do this?
Before when the adhan starts you are already
there in the masjid.
Now you started your own business.
The first day you missed the first raka
'a in the jama'a.
Second day second raka'a.
Third day third raka'a.
Then the jama'a altogether.
Then you started praying in the office or
in your store in your shop.
This is how the shaitan is taking you
back.
If you manage to escape and avoid the
sixth tab now the seventh now the guy
himself he comes to you.
Shaitan himself as Ibn Qayyim said.
And he said this this this is the
physical confrontation wrestling.
You are wrestling with the cursed one.
He uses all his troops, all his agents,
all his allies, everything all his forces against
you.
And Ibn Qayyim said and Allah loves to
see you in this station.
Okay.
So that's why the person who is practicing
bid'ah, he dies while doing the bid
'ah because he feels and believes that it
is part of the deed.
And that's why they are so adamant.
Don't you see how they defend the mawlid
and because they think this is part of
the deed only those wahhabis the wahhabis who
hate the Prophet they are saying it is
bid'ah.
That's what they are saying because they believe
that it is okay.
This is something brings them very close very
close to Allah.
And that's what they inherited their fathers, forefathers
doing the same thing.
And they continue treading on the same path.
They don't pose and reflect and listen to
what the others are saying that this is
something the Prophet didn't do, the sahaba didn't
do the three generations didn't do, the four
imams didn't do.
Hold your horses, think how come that all
these higher generations they didn't celebrate his birthday
they didn't love the Prophet so you love
the Prophet more than the three generations, but
they don't think.
So the author is saying here, may Allah
guide them ameen.
...

...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
The meaning Allah will not accept the repentance
of an innovator unless he leaves his bid
'ah.
If he repents without leaving his bid'ah,
Allah will not accept his repentance because the
condition of the sincere tawbah is not fulfilled
because you are committing sin and the condition
of sincere repentance is to quit sinning.
Does this mean the person who died a
Muslim doing bid'ah is a kafir?
No, no, he's not a kafir but he's
a sinner.
He is a sinner and that's why many
of the imams of Ahl as-Sunnah they
were very tough with the leaders of the
innovators so when they die they do not
participate in the funeral, etc.
to send a message to the masses, to
the public that this person was misguided.
So for this imam of Ahl as-Sunnah
he doesn't participate in his funeral because he
was an active caller to his bid'ah
and to the misguidance.
So Ibn Waddah reported in his book from
Ayyub he said we were sitting with a
man who was holding the opinion of the
khawarij then he left the belief of the
khawarij of the khawarij because it is very
destructive belief the people of the khawarij they
would kill the muslims who disagree with their
understanding.
So Ayyub said I came to Muhammad Ibn
Sirin I told him Do
you know that so and so left what
he used to call to and advocate on
what the opinion he used to hold I
told him So Ibn Sirin told him
So he told him see the reason why
he left the belief of the kharijites because
the kharijites of the khawarij they believe that
if someone commits major sin he is not
a muslim he is a kafir if a
ruler muslim ruler commits a sin they rebel
against him and that's why they
this group when they started to a great
number and they start this group to shrink
and diminish because they started having differences among
themselves so they started everyone forming his own
group fighting each other until they finished each
other because he drew his attention
to the hadith about mentioned the kharijites or
the khawarij because
the prophet when he mentioned the kharijites he
said that
they come out of the Islam of the
deen quickly as fast as the arrow when
it leaves the bow and goes through the
game the game is the deer you release
the arrow it is so powerful it penetrates
it goes through the game quickly you find
the arrow not inside the body of the
game the deer outside which means they leave
the deen quickly so
Allah does not grant him success to repent
so he dies holding the erroneous and the
wrong belief yes the sahaba they fought them
and one of the kharijites was dying so
when the sahabi hit him with the spear
or with the sword the sahabi told the
kharijites go to * what an evil
destination awaits you that's what the sahabi told
him guess what guess what did the kharijites
say he said he is breathing his last
he is dying he said which
means on the day of resurrection he is
talking to the sahabi tomorrow you are going
to know which one of us deserves
to be roasted in it in the hellfire
till the last minute he was so confident
that he is upon the truth that's why
if you want to eradicate extremism that's the
right terminology and legal terminology the ghuloo that
some of the muslim youth fall into this
ghuloo, this trap you cannot reform them by
putting them in behind bars and torturing and
punishing them that will not make them change
their minds and repent that actually will make
them insist to continue because
shaitan will make them believe believe that this
is the way to the jannah this is
just Allah testing us and they are ready
to die they are ready to die because
you see what is here the thought the
ideology the belief you cannot remove it by
force cannot so you have to remove remove
that belief with the ilm and knowledge and
prove to him that what he is doing
is wrong so you remove such erroneous belief
by force you will not succeed I'll give
you some stories our Sheikh al-Bani rahimahullah
when he moved to Jordan there was a
famous group in Jordan who are considering all
the muslims capital so sheikh asked them to
come to have a dialogue and the meeting
was arranged and it is there if you
want to listen in audio tapes and I
think now on the website of Sheikh Nasser
you can hear the our brothers converted it
long series many set of audio tapes so
the first night when it was Isha time
for Salah the Sheikh and those with him
started to pray and they did not pray
behind Sheikh Nasser they didn't pray behind him
because to him Sheikh al-Bani is kafir
this is the first night second night they
prayed behind him the night after the debate
started after Isha up to Fajr and they
repented because you have to deconstruct and remove
what the erroneous and the wrong beliefs they
had in another muslim country
so the ulama they approached the state the
government and they said we these are our
children brainwashed we need to talk to them
so let us do that so they started
talking to them in the prisons and Alhamdulillah
they came to the right belief, the right
track Sayyidina Ali bin Abi Talib radiyallahu anhu
when the Khawarij and the Khawarijites and they
are also called Haruriya you might come across
this term Haruriya Haruriya because of a place
in Iraq called Harura because that where they
were concentrating where they were they settled there
and the troops and headquarters is there and
they were 12,000 and they told Sayyidina
Ali you are kafir and if you want
us to come with you climb the minbar
on Friday in front of the people and
say I was kafir and I repent Sayyidina
Ali he ignored them because he realized that
they were ignorant, he didn't do anything to
them what he did he sent to them
Ibn Abbas Ibn Abbas the interpreter of the
Quran because the Khawarij they read the Quran
but they don't understand it as the Prophet
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam mentioned so the elders among
them when they saw Ibn Abbas approaching them,
reaching there they saw him coming they told
the young ones hey this is the interpreter
of the Quran the Prophet prayed for him
ask Allah to bless him with the understanding
of the Quran so don't argue with him
the elders they said this to the young
ones and always the problem they come from
the young ones when they do not listen
to the elders and this is our problem
nowadays we don't listen to the ulama we
don't listen to those who have the experience
and we label them and issue red cards
and say they are cowards they are agents
they are this and that and that we
don't see what they see so Ibn Abbas
sat down and he started to argue with
them to cut the story short out of
12,000 8,000 repented repented
so the this man when he left the
belief of the khawari because he realized that
this is not the right path this is
not the right way so my dear brothers
and sisters it is not enough to have
that zeal love enthusiasm that's not enough
the khawari they have the zeal the enthusiasm
love of the deen they were worshipers the
night they are praying you see the signs
of sujood on their foreheads what else do
you want when the prophet said told Sayyidina
Umar Ibn Khattab when you see the prayer
of the khawari jahids you consider yourself and
your salah as nothing it's so little the
way they pray the way they concentrate etc
yet see what the prophet said about them
so do not be deceived by someone who
is committed to the deen and he is
so enthusiastic zealous upon the
way of the prophet and his sahaba does
he understand the islam in the way of
the salaf the way of the three generations
or not that is the touchstone you
see imam dhanimi rahimallah mentioned in his sunan
sunan imam dhanimi authentic hadith that abu musa
al ashari he entered one of the masjids
in iraq and he saw a circle in
the masjid and there is pile of pebbles
small stones and there is a shaykh telling
those around him say subhanallah one hundred times
subhanallah subhanallah subhanallah alhamdulillah like that so when
abu musa al ashari he saw that he
went and reported it to ibn masood ibn
masood the sahabi both are sahaba that is
why the fatawa of ibn masood and abu
musa al ashari spread in iraq because they
settled in iraq so he reported
it to ibn masood he said ya abu
abdulrahman i have seen people in the masjid
doing the following ibn masood told him why
didn't you tell them to count their own
sins rather than counting their own hasanat because
when you are counting you are counting your
hasanat count your sins the same way today
those who are having counters counters counters you
know before it was this metallic ones the
air hostesses and stewards they used to see
how many passengers now it is a small
counter you put it in your finger tip
and you count and who knows maybe because
of the nanotechnology you will have one also
that will give you a print out now
that is how many hasanat you have made
and many of our brothers are falling into
this trap doing that see him having this
counter and he is making tasbih leaving alone
the rosary which is a bid'ah okay
may allah have mercy upon the soul of
shiekh bakr who wrote a small booklet on
the subha this subha rosary is an innovation
you see you see the non-muslims are
you see the priests are using the monks
are using etc and all the narrations mentioned
about the tasbih with the seeds and with
the dates attributed to some of the sahaba
all these narrations are unauthentic as a matter
of fact the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
told us to count the tasbih in our
fingers so so ibn mas'ud he went
he covered his face what did ibn mas
'ud say what did he say did he
tell them oh masha'allah you are doing
masha'allah good thing see what ibn mas
'ud said he said how
quickly how quickly you perish you
deviate from the straight path quickly the
clothes of your prophet are still in good
condition his clothes have not become shabby his
utensils are still in good condition not broken
and his companions are in your midst among
you we are
the role models for you so you left
all that and you invented your way then
he told them by
Allah you are either upon a deen better
than the deen of the prophet or or
you are unlocking the gate of misguidance to
come out the misguidance is locked and you
are releasing this misguidance by unlocking the gate
for it to come out choose one of
the two ah so he put them in
the corner now if they say we have
found a deen better than the deen of
the prophet they become taboos if they say
we are opening the door for the allowing
the the misguidance to come out okay that
is just by from the frying pan to
the fire what do you do so they
gave their lame excuse they said our
intention is good we only want khair Ibn
Mas'ud answered not anyone who intends good
will get it without adopting the right means
and the right means it's kitab and sunnah
if you want good the khair follow the
footsteps of your prophet then the narration says
those who were subhanallah subhanallah the sahaba said
they became khairij and they were fighting us
so my dear brothers and sisters do not
be deceived by someone who is so influential
so eloquent okay he mesmerizes the people by
his speeches if he is not upon the
manhood of the salaf the kitab and sunnah
and my advice for the youth listen to
the ulama those who spend their lifetime learning
the deen and teaching the deen don't be
deceived by the orators the powerful orators because
nowadays if you are a good speaker a
good debater you are imam for the muslimin
this is the I mean the tragedy because
you know how to talk that will not
make you alim and you should we should
not take such a person as a role
model or imam to lead the muslims refer
to the ulama the real scholars those who
fear Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and those
who spend their life learning the deen those
who have the wisdom those who see the
consequences because the youth they are having this
just enthusiasm and that is needed but this
force because the youth they have this dynamism
this force so that force needs to be
channeled in the proper way that's why one
of the ulama said we need the wisdom
of the elders and the vigor and the
zeal and enthusiasm of the youth so if
the youth with their hands with the ulama
then our ummah will prosper and we will
insha Allah achieve what Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala promised but if you keep the youth
you keep yourself away from the ulama and
you take to lead you a blind leading
another blind and the enemies of Islam they
throw for you the bait and you swallow
the bait and then you make your ummah
suffer more and more may Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala guide all of us may Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala keep us treading the
straight path following the footsteps of our beloved
prophet Muhammad salallahu alaihi wa sallam and his
companions and the three generations and may Allah
raise us in their company in the day
of resurrection may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
keep us remain steadfast on this beautiful day
until we meet Allah and find him pleased
with all of us ameen and may Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala unite our ummah in
the haq and bring all of us to
the haq, to the truth to the way
the prophet salallahu alaihi wasallam taught his companions
and understand this deal as he taught it
to his companions and as the companions understood
it ameen and may Allah subhanahu wa ta
'ala unite our hearts in the haq and
may Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala forgive us
for false and mistakes and ignorance and may
Allah reward all of you my dear brothers
and sisters immensely for your patience and attendance
barakallahu feekum jazakumullahu khaira wassalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi
wa barakatuh ameen inshallah we have received a
few questions sheikh let me know if you
would like to answer one minute yes
the first question how do you give da
'wah to a group of muslims who believe
that they have knowledge on their own to
interpret things yet they are not qualified we
make da'wah and ask Allah to guide
them because sometimes when you have the hawa
there is something the hawa which means you
follow your desire and you think you think
you are right and you think you understand
the deen better than the sahaba and tabi
'een okay what to do okay that means
you are deceived shaytan managed to put you
under his wing so talib al ilm students
of knowledge should be humble and should look
for the haq and the truth and he
should equip himself with the required tools arabic
mastering all the sciences of arabic the quran
the sunnah this prerequisite in order to master
them you need to sit with the ulama
not that you have a big library at
home and your shaykh is your book this
is the reality most of the whom you
are seeing without mentioning names who are their
ulama who are their mashayikh they didn't sit
in the circles of the scholars their books
the book is his shaykh so if i
am reading the book and i misunderstood what
i am reading the book will not correct
me the book will not correct me but
if i am reading this book with the
shaykh the shaykh makes it easy for me
so he saved me from making mistakes and
committing errors so if you want to learn
your islam sit in the circles of the
ulama have contacts with the ulama know
your limitation you are
not alim you are sinners of knowledge so
know your limitations so when you are asked
you are just quoting what the ulama said
you should not give your own understanding because
you lack what entitles you for such position
until you reach that level so you are
giving and quoting what the ulama mentioned and
see really sometimes you feel i don't know
whether to cry or to laugh well you
find some brothers they are saying we are
not following the we are following the evidence
good how do you understand this evidence how
do you understand this hadith you just open
bukhari and understand it or you go to
the if you are reading bukhari if you
are reading muslim if you are reading abu
dawood if you are reading to the commentaries
of the ulama so it's
not your understanding it you are referring to
what actually you are making actually you are
emulating and that's fine there's nothing wrong with
that because you haven't reached when the level
where you will be able to you mastered
all the tools and you can look into
the text directly and understand it you haven't
reached that level so you are actually following
the ulama and that's normal that's normal so
if you want to study the deen for
example and this is the most effective and
well structured method for example you want to
study fiqh well one of the four methods
that is known in your country and you
build up then when you reach mashallah the
level of the ulama and you the comparative
fiqh that is another advanced level but in
the beginning not that you say I am
not making taqlid when you are making taqlid
I will not follow imam when you are
following al-bani or bin baad or bin
al-thaymeen or whom are you following or
ibn al-qayyim or ibn taymiyyah you are
making taqlid so my advice for talib al
-ilm is to be humble sincere and he
should know that he doesn't know and every
day you discover you don't know every day
you learn that's why the ulama they say
knowledge three spans and the most risky and
dangerous phase is abu shibir the owner of
one span or father of one span because
this phase one you start to feel that
you know the whole deen and no one
knows anything but you and this is very
very dangerous phase and if you remain lingering
there you will be ruined but if you
manage to come out of this phase phase
one and you enter into phase two you
start to cool down because now you start
to realise oh the ilm is not what
I thought of the surdeen ocean and
if you enter into phase three there you
discover your reality that you don't know anything
you are ignorant and every day you discover
your own ignorance and you start laughing at
yourself about the blunders and the foolish things
you used to do before okay so my
advice is this group of Muslims say we
have knowledge of their own and understand the
deen of their own this is a slippery
path and risky path okay the khawari they
went astray at the time of the sahaba
how about our time I hope this is
clear to the questioner next
question the next question why can't you attend
the funeral prayer of an innovator I said
those who did not attend the funeral of
the innovator they were imams they were sending
messages so when the public they see oh
Imam Ahmad did not come to the funeral
of this one so they will not follow
the legacy of that innovator because this Imam
who decided not to attend the funeral he
is respecting and he is sending a message
to all so all these incidents when we
read should be understood in their context but
for example I'm a layman a person or
small students of knowledge and this person who
died he is doing some bid'ah he
is a Muslim he is a Muslim and
maybe if I don't attend it's going to
give I mean negative image about the dawah
so that there is no harm in attending
the janazah because he is a Muslim because
you see the Prophet because he cannot be
worse than the one who killed himself and
who knows maybe this person he was practicing
this bid'ah out of ignorance and most
of them they are like that they have
been brainwashed by their forefathers and they think
this is the way at the time of
the Prophet the one who killed himself he
committed suicide the Prophet did not perform janazah
prayer for him he did not why sending
message teaching that anyone who kills himself he
will be deprived of my prayer imagine a
great loss that your Prophet is present and
yet he does not attend your funeral because
what a blessing if the one who leads
the prayer is your Prophet great loss so
he did it that's why the ulama they
said al imam means the khalifa or the
the imam of the Muslims he can abstain
from attending or praying attending the funeral of
someone who committed suicide and killed himself but
the rest they can't because the Prophet he
told the sahaba you pray the conduct the
funeral prayer for your companion which means he
is a Muslim so the one who commits
suicide is not a kafir and this refutes
the khalijites who say anyone who commits a
major sin is a kafir so someone who
commits zina is a kafir, someone who commits
theft is a kafir and alhamdulillah the proofs
in the kitab and sunnah are so clear
if the one who commits theft is a
kafir he should be executed but what is
the punishment for the thief?
You cut off his hand, not you kill
him someone who drinks alcohol you don't kill
him you lash him so the one who
committed suicide is not a kafir, he is
a Muslim so we give him the burial
wash attend the janaza his wife will go
through the waiting period, his children will inherit
him, etc so it depends on the situation
if an imam and by not attending the
funeral of this innovator, he is sending a
message to the public and the people they
will understand that he is warning and they
will not follow the legacy of this person
who died that's why they are fine but
if it is not going to cause any
benefit actually it is going to cause more
damage then abstaining from attending the funeral is
not serving defeats the purpose of what the
salaf meant by taking such stances I hope
this was clear to the questioner questions
ok ask the question read the question the
next question a tabligh on the right path
a tabligh on the right path see you
have to understand now here one thing, this
is a problem with many of our brothers
they do not differentiate between dawah organizations and
deviant sects they mix things spaghetti to them
so dawah organizations groups who are involved in
the dawah and they have different ways of
approaching the people some they treat them as
sects and then they will call the hadith
the 73 sects which is of course wrong
these are dawah organizations yes some
they have mistakes no doubt like our brothers
in the tabligh the point that most of
the ulema mention is that the lack of
ilm and knowledge and teaching some books which
are like tabligh nisab and fazail a'mal which
they are full of fabricated hadith and unauthentic
narrations it's a good book hayat al sahaba
a good book but this is dawah organization
dawah group they go from one place to
another place and believe me they reach places
where not many of the other dawah groups
can reach and i know them personally and
i know many of them and i know
many who were drug addicts alcoholic and if
i tell you this brother was a drug
addict you will not believe it they focus
on the ibadat and the ruhaniyat so a
person who goes with them for example his
life will change no doubt but should he
continue just like that without building himself and
increase his knowledge in the deen and ilm
so he can benefit others he should do
that rather than can we treat them
as deviant no audhubillah they are your brothers
and sisters they should be mutual advice you
advise them when you see something wrong you
advise them but not to label them and
give them the red card and you see
how our mashayikh shaykh bin baal, shaykh bin
az-zaymeen shaykh bin jibreel shaykh al-bani
how they dealt with them they were giving
them nasiha what i am saying now is
that i am just quoting what they said
the ulama one day a brother came to
shaykh nasir rahimahullah, to shaykh nasir al-bani
and he said my brother he doesn't pray,
he doesn't make salah and he is going
with jama'at tablil or he wants to
go with jama'at tablil can i allow
him to go with jama'at tablil shaykh
nasir said what is he going to lose
at least he will start praying now at
least he will start making salah so my
dear brothers and sisters hold your horses ok,
make dua for your ummah, make dua for
all these dawah groups, dawah organizations we should
advise each other listen to each other accept
the haq from each other may Allah guide
all of us ameen just
i remembered one thing one of the dua,
i think he was in germany, it is
there on the youtube and he was lecturing
then the one who is next to him
on the stage and he is of course
from germany and the brothers in front and
the audience, mashallah practicing brothers beards and thobes
and mashallah you can see mashallah so this
brother was from germany told the shaykh shaykh
you don't know your audience the audience in
front of you mashallah you don't know their
background they are all from the night clubs
ok, from jahiliyya they came and this brother
is tablil those brothers are like that before
next question next question some groups of muslims
consider following the rightly guided caliphs as impermissible
and they deny the hadith of the following
rightly guided caliphs that it is not authentic
i don't think so any among the sunnis
they deny the hadith the ones who deny
the hadith are the qadianis sorry the qurani
in the subcontinent they are denying the hadith
ok so that group of course deviant group
anyone who denies the sunnah knowingly he is
actually denying the islam because without the sunnah
the hadith you would not understand the islam,
you would not understand the quran you would
not be able to pray you would not
be able to fast and to know the
hikam of fasting and the hikam of zakat
all of that so anyone who says something
like this is ignorant he needs to be
educated next question
please the next question in our country different
groups are calling themselves like salihiyya qadiriyya, ahmadiyya
and they keep jumping and bending their face
down and reading different things called nasheedah who
started all of this i think these are
sufi groups and this group the sufis apart
from the ahmadiyya if you mean ahmadiyya followers
of ghalam ahmad they are not muslims the
qadianis but if it is a sufi order
or tariqa sufiya you have they call this
adhkar and they are jumping up and down
and call it zikr may allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala guide them may allah give them
hidayah because the sufis can be classified into
three categories one category this is called al
mutasawwifah al falasifah those are philosophical mystics or
sufis and this is many of what they
are saying is kufr then you have this
second type those who are saying tasawwuf to
them is tazkiyah purification of the soul and
they say our tariqa is the kitab and
sunnah and we abide by the kitab and
sunnah like al junaid and the like this
category you have no problem with them because
islam calls for the tazkiyah of the nafs
and the ihsan but we disagree with them
and say why you call it tasawwuf don't
call it tasawwuf call it ihsan call it
tarbiyah, call it tazkiyah call it anything else
don't call it tasawwuf because this problem of
sufi is problematic because sufism or mysticism exists
in in other faiths, in other beliefs mysticism
and the mystics besides there are some who
are bad salesmen and representatives of what you
are upon so you need to fight those
who are misleading the people and telling the
people sufism is not what you are not
your definition so you and us we should
expose them and then the third category those
just mentioned an example for them, those who
just darawish okay they are spinning, dancing allahi,
allahi and all that this is the dhikr
and then they will after that they will
go and have banquet and fill their stomachs
huh with food and that's it one of
our mashayikh rahimahullah he is from Hama Syria,
he passed away sheikh Abdurrahman Abdulsamad rahimahullah ta
'ala so he wanted to teach the sufi
mashayikh in his in Syrian Hama lesson so
he invited them for a meal and you
know if you invite them they will respond
and come so what he did rahimahullah ta
'ala you know there is a famous cuisine
called mansaf this mansaf is famous in Palestine,
Jordan this area and it is rice and
also meat, meat cooked in the sour milk
and then they pour the sour milk on
top of it delicious, no doubt and they
keep the meat on top, what he did
the mansaf he made he put the meat
under cover it with the rice and he
put the platter and he said my mashayikh
bismillah and he stepped out they looked at
each other what is this?
no meat, so he came back said my
mashayikh bismillah they said Sheikh Abdurrahman where is
the where is the meat he said my
mashayikh subhanallah you see Allah and you see
the prophet all the time you can't see
the meat you can't see the meat beneath
you can't see the meat under the rice
that was a bombshell for them you are
saying you see Allah and you see the
prophet and you can't see the meat under
the rice so this is the third type
of the is may Allah guide all of
us ameen next
question please the next question is it permissible
to cheat the children who are around 11
years of age etc your mic is it
better now yeah okay is it permissible to
cheat the children who are around 11 years
of age because they understand what his Muslim
is facing and asking everyday about the situation
and someone has been telling his children that
Muslims have been successful even if they are
killed going to Jannah don't worry and so
on this is not lying actually this is
not lying and really I mean I will
not recommend that the children they see the
media see the television because this might affect
them psychologically okay so we have to put
the information to them in a way that
they can understand it and this is not
lying actually not lying because you are telling
them yes the Muslims because we are far
away from what Allah wants from us because
Allah promised us to have the upper hand
to be victorious okay but if we practice
the Deen and become good example role model
and abide by the teachings of the Quran
and Sunnah but because we are away so
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is putting us
through these tests and tribulations but Inshallah the
Ummah will deduce and learn lessons from this
and we should come back to Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala and those who are mistreated
and who were massacred and killed without any
justified reason Inshallah we pray that Allah accept
them as shuhada martyrs and they will go
to Jannah and regarding children by default the
children are in the Jannah the Prophet saw
them in the Jannah on the night of
the Mi'raj and all of us we
will die one day or another some die
when they are still young some when they
are old some in between etc so we
have to with the information in a way
that it will be digested and understood by
this little angel next
question the next question my husband was reading
about the peace treaty of Ubudia he wants
to know why it's also reverted to as
ghaswa, battle, Ubudia this Hudaibiyah is
a place part of it within the territory
of the Haram, part of it outside the
Prophet he set out from Medina to perform
Umrah so when they reached Hudaibiyah Quraish stopped
them though the Muslims they were in Haram,
so Quraish stopped them from performing the Umrah
and they sent one of them to negotiate
with the Prophet so the first round of
negotiation failed, Quraish sent Suhail Ibn Amr second
one so when the Prophet saw Suhail Ibn
Amr coming to them he told the Sahaba
because his name Suhail means easy, said the
situation will be eased and the negotiations went
on and finally they agreed that this year
this year Muslims should not perform the Umrah,
they can come next year and an agreement
was drawn and signed so now the Muslims
and of course apparently some closes in the
agreement in the truce some closes apparently appear
unfair for the Muslims, for example one of
the closes says there if a Muslim leaves
the Muslim he runs away from the Muslim
and joins the Mushriks in Mecca Quraish are
not obligated to send him back and if
one of the Mushriks Quraish becomes a Muslim
and he leaves to the Muslims, the Muslims
they have to return him and the Prophet
accepted that, that's why the Sahaba they were
boiling because they thought this is unfair they
didn't know the wisdom behind it because this
the Prophet agreed to it that means sanctioned
by Allah Allah that's why when Sayyidina Umar
came to Abu Bakr he said oh Abu
Bakr aren't we upon the truth he said
yes he said why we are so flexible
with Quraish and tolerant Sayyidina Abu Bakr said
to the Prophet to Sayyidina Umar Umar be
careful he is Rasul Allah he knows what
he did follow him Sayyidina Umar said later
on whenever I remember that what I said
I would make give out charity to expiate
for it so now the Prophet had to
had to come out from Ihram
remove the Ihram so he told the Sahaba
slaughter the Hadi and shave your hair and
remove your Ihram the Sahaba they were hesitant
hesitant not to disobey the Prophet but hoping
that maybe revelation will come telling them go
enter Mecca by force so the Prophet when
he saw that they were hesitant he went
to his wife I think Umar and he
told her the Muslims I'm telling them this
and they are reluctant she told him don't
blame them they were yearning and looking forward
to Umrah and now they are seeing the
Ihram and they are stopped just go outside
now call your the barber to shave your
hair and they will follow you and that's
exactly what happened so this agreement okay
between the Prophet and Quraish now it's peace
between the two Dawah is permissible you talk
to the to the Quraish giving them Dawah
and many many many people became Muslims and
Allah when the Prophet in his way back
to Medina Allah sent down indeed we have
given you victory clear grand Sayyidina Umar said
this is said yes because now there is
peaceful atmosphere and the people they listen and
many people became Muslims and this is I
recommend this brother and all of you to
read it is there in English he commented
on this because the Prophet said today when
he was negotiating anything Quraish asked me and
this thing leads to the sanctification of Allah's
limits I will grant it to them if
it leads to giving more sanctity and holiness
to the holy place I will give it
to them Imam Ibn Qayyim on the footnote
he commented and he said and this is
an explicit evidence that Muslims can cooperate with
non-Muslims for the common good there is
common good Muslims and non-Muslims they can
put their hands together for the common good
I hope this is clear to the questioner
next question can we start teaching children hifz
of the Quran before anything else?
can we start teaching children hifz of the
Quran first before anything else?
Yes Quran before anything else Quran and
that is the way of the three generations
the way of the Shalaf the Quran before
anything next
question Now there is a student Fazila Abdullah,
if you'd like to ask your question please
unmute yourself now.
Now I think a question you posted already,
he said my daughter 12 years wants to
know how did the Prophet ﷺ saw children
in Jannah?
Yes he saw them on the night of
the Mi'raj when the Prophet ﷺ was
taken to heaven and he saw them and
they are around Ibrahim ﷺ.
So those children who died before reaching the
age of puberty they are in the Jannah
and they are called Afraat, Al-Afraat, so
if you have a child died before reaching
this age so he died sinless because the
pen didn't write against him and those Afraat
because the Farat is the one who is
ahead of you so they will be waiting
for you there in the Jannah and they
will intercede and make shafa'ah for you,
those children.
And if their parents are in the hellfire
Allah tells the Malaika bring their parents from
the hellfire.
Next question.
Maro Lafeeq the next question, can someone offer
advice to someone before being asked if they
are aware of the situation the other is
in or is it better to be asked
first?
Can someone offer advice to someone before being
asked if they are aware of the situation
the other is in or is it best
to be asked?
No you can't, you can't give the nasiha,
because ad-din al-nasiha the Prophet ﷺ
said.
So din is this giving a piece of
advice and advising each other so if someone
is going for example to make business with
a brother and he doesn't know anything about
this brother and you know he's going to
be cheated because the partner is not trustworthy
and you know and people they know so
it's part of the din and his right
upon you is to tell him my brother
is not the right partner for you because
the following facts and that's not ghibah, that's
not ghibah and that's not backbiting, yes.
Next.
We have one last question, my son is
15 years and he finds it so difficult
to memorise.
I haven't received this question, one minute, okay
go ahead.
My son is 15 years of age and
he finds it so difficult to memorise despite
starting from the age of 4 and now
is even doing extra private classes with the
teacher, how do I help him?
You see maybe he is trying to memorise
maybe the potion, the ghost is too much
for him so for example he can't start
memorising 5 ayat or 10 ayat enough okay
until he and he has to repeat these
10 ayat, 10 ayat, 10 ayat, 40 times,
50 times until because there are two types
of memory, volatile one and that one which
is permanent within the what you memorise will
be retained, returned, that's why in traditional method
and you find it still there in Africa
and Sudan and many African countries where the
students they write the ayat and memorise and
rehearse and memorise okay so just and you
should don't push him okay he has to
enjoy memorising the ayat and now you're saying
he's 15 years old so he should know
what he memorises so if he can read
the meaning of what he memorises and he
has to take it step by step and
5 verses, 10 verses enough by over time
he will one day he will finish the
Quran and there are live examples people who
are in their 60s and their 70s they
memorise women actually memorise the Quran and you
can see their stories on the net okay
so don't blame him don't force him no
encourage him that's it may Allah make it
easier for him Ameen next I mean this
was the last question JazakAllah Khairan thank you
all for everyone for attending may Allah bless
you all for your attendance BarakAllahu feekum Assalamu
alaikum I'll hand it back to the Sheikh
to conclude the lesson Wa alaikum salam wa
rahmatullahi wa barakatuh may Allah reward you all
may Allah bless you all may Allah bless
your families and may Allah protect all of
you from all evils and may Allah subhan
elevate your status in this world and in
Jannatul Naheem Ameen until we meet inshallah in
the coming session I leave you in Allah's
company of protection
