by Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Waḥāb ibn al
-ʿAlī.
Just a quick reminder, please take notes, listen
attentively, and hand your questions over to myself
or the co-host throughout the course of
the lesson.

Wa kulla dhalālatin fil-nār.
Amma baʿd, dear brothers and sisters in Islam,
today is our weekly class, Kitāb al-Tawḥīd.
And we are still in chapter number one.
By Shaykh al-Imam al-Mujaddid, Muḥammad ibn
ʿAbd al-Muḥammad, rahimahu Allāhu ta'ālā.
And we reach where the author is saying,
and he, Allāh subḥānahu wa ta'ālā, said,
waʿbudu Allāha wa la yushrikū bihi shay'ā.
Surat an-Nisā, ayah 36.
waʿbudu Allāha wa la yushrikū bihi shay'ā.
Worship Allāh and join none with Him in
worship.
I remind you that you should be taking
notes.
You have to take notes.
This beautiful ayah sums up, sums up the
purpose of your creation, the purpose of our
creation.
Why do we exist?
Why did Allāh create us?
And also, very simple, to worship Allāh.
And what does worshipping Allāh?
What does it mean?
It means that you run
your life according to what He wants you
to do.
He, subḥānahu wa ta'ālā, told us, move
within these parameters, within this framework.
These are limits I set.
So, run your life within these limits and
never trespass or cross them.
That's the meaning of being ʿabid, servant of
Allāh.
You do the do's and you leave the
don'ts.
Worshipping Allāh doesn't mean the pillars of Islām,
the ṣalāh, ṣiyām, zakāh, ḥajj, and the jahādah.
More than that.
These are the pillars.
Būniyā l-Islām ʿalá ḥams.
Būniyā l-Islām ʿalá ḥams.
Islām, the structure of Islām, was built upon
these five pillars.
So the five pillars are the columns that
hold and support this gigantic structure.
Not that the five pillars are al-Islām.
The problem with many of us and many
of this ummah, the Muslims, they got the
wrong concept of ʿibādah.
So if you ask them what is ʿibādah,
they will tell you the five pillars, the
five prayers.
Well, the five prayers maximum will take one
hour from you.
And the day, 23 hours.
What should you do in the 23 hours?
No ʿibādah?
Allah created you to worship Him for one
hour.
See where this misconception leads to.
So the ʿibādah is to run your life
according to the divine guidance, the divine instructions.
So ʿibādah governs all aspects of my life.
All walks of life.
In the market, there is ʿibādah.
At work, you are in ʿibādah.
On the frontiers, you are at ʿibādah.
Wherever you are, you are teaching, you are
also in ʿibādah.
If you do these things according to what
pleases Allah, and seeking by that Allah's pleasure,
so all the actions of your limbs, the
actions and the acts of your heart, all
are considered acts of worship.
Waʿbudu allaha.
Worship Allah.
In Islam, the ʿibādah, worship, is unique.
It's not like other beliefs.
Other beliefs, when they hear the word worship,
they say, okay, these are the rituals.
This is private relation and personal relation between
you and God.
No problem.
Go and sit in the masjid and take
your long rosary.
No problem.
Stay there.
Be careful.
Don't bring Islam outside.
Islam has nothing to do with what we
do outside the masjid.
They want us to just think Islam like
Christianity inside the church.
Outside?
No.
No room for you.
No, Islam is not like that.
Islam is not like that.
Pick any book of fiqh, Islamic jurisprudence, and
have a quick glance at the index and
see.
And you'll see that Islam talks about everything
in your life.
Everything.
As individual, as community, as a state, politics,
economy, international relations, everything.
There's a code of life in Islam.
Code of life.
So Islam is not confined and limited and
should be imprisoned only inside the masjid.
Has no saying in the market, has no
saying outside.
That is not true.
There's no dichotomy between the mundane affairs and
the commandments of Allah.
Our mundane affairs should be governed by the
commands and the commandments of Allah.
So you worship only Allah.
Your deity is Allah.
What Allah says, I accept and follow.
And I don't compromise.
Anything goes against what Allah said, neglected.
Because I'm created to worship my Lord and
obey my Lord.
And my Lord is telling me this.
Anything goes against it, should be thrown away.
So the ibadah, actualizing the servitude
in your life, worshiping Allah alone.
Allah tells me this, I hear and obey.
Allah says, no interest, no riba.
I hear and I obey.
Allah says, no wine, I hear and obey.
No zina, no fornication, no adultery, I hear
and I obey.
That's the meaning of ibadah.
Because I'm servant, I am slave.
He is my master.
Allah tells you, sister, wear your hijab, cover
your body.
I hear and I obey.
That's ibadah.
Without any argument, without any hesitation.
Allah says, finish.
Chapter is clear.
It's not befitting
a believing man or believing woman.
When Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala decrees a
matter, decides a matter, and His Messenger, Allah
and His Messenger decrees a matter, decrees a
matter, the believing men and believing women, they
have no choice.
It doesn't befit a believing man or believing
woman to have any choice, any option, except
to say, we hear and we obey.
Nay, by your
Lord.
By your Lord.
Allah is swearing by Himself.
فَلَا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ By your Lord, they
believe not.
عَتَّى يُحَكِّمُوكَ Until they make you Muhammad, the
decision maker, the judge, judges, and
settling their dispute.
فِي مَا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ Any dispute.
ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُ فِي أَنفُسِهِمْ حَرَجًا مِّمَّا قَضَيْتُ
And they find no resentment, resistance, opposition to
what you decided.
وَيُسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا And they submit totally.
They accept what you decided with total submission.
وَعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ Worship Allah.
وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا Do not associate
with Allah anything.
I mentioned many times when you see the
noun which is indefinite, undefined, common noun, which
we call nakira, whether the context is prohibition
or the context is negation, then this denotes
and indicates al-'umu, generality.
I mentioned this many times to you.
So here, وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا This is prohibition.
نَهِي Allah prohibits us not to associate with
Him.
شَيْئًا شَيْئًا Undefined.
It means anything.
Anything.
It's shirk.
If you associate with Allah.
وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا So
you should not accept any system, any ideology
goes against what Allah said.
If you do that, then you fall into
shirk.
Very simple.
That is shirk.
Because it is His kingdom and He should
rule His kingdom.
And His kingdom should be ruled according to
what He says.
So we are His servants.
He created us to follow what He said.
So we should not adopt any other law
or system that goes against what He said.
Otherwise, we are making the thing that we
adopted partner with Allah.
For example, if we give the human beings
the right to make things lawful and unlawful,
to legislate, then we have taken them lords
and partners with Allah.
Because we have given them rights that only
belong to Allah.
Allah is the one who is qualified, subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
And this is His right to say this
is lawful, this is unlawful.
Not a human being.
Because He knows what is good for us
and what is not.
He has no interest in making this thing
lawful and this thing unlawful.
Allah's law is perfect, free from any deficiency
or any loopholes.
Whereas man-made law is full of loopholes.
And that is expected.
Because the one who made the law is
a human being.
And a human being doesn't know what will
happen tomorrow.
That's why you see the constitution or the
laws, they keep changing them and adding modifications
and corrections.
Allah's law?
No.
Because Allah knows.
So you will never find a loophole in
the law of Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala.
So do not associate anyone with Allah.
Anyone.
Shay'a.
You worship only Allah and no partners with
Him.
No partners.
When the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wa sallam, he
read the ayah, they
have taken, the Jews and Christians, their rabbis
and their monks, priests, as lords, lords besides
Allah.
And Jesus Christ, the son of Mary.
Adi Ibn Hatim was Christian before he became
Muslim.
He said, O Prophet of Allah, we did
not take them as rabbis, lords besides Allah.
Because Sayyidina Adi, r.a, he understood that
they were prostrating for them and worshipping them.
So the Prophet, salallahu alayhi wa sallam, collected
his understanding and told him, didn't they, the
rabbis and the monks, the priests, didn't they
make the lawful, unlawful and the unlawful, lawful
and you followed them?
He said, yes.
That's how you worship them.
That's how you have you have taken them
as lords besides Allah.
Because you have given them their right to
make things lawful and unlawful.
To legislate and to legalize things.
Don't associate with Allah anything.
Don't associate with Allah any object of worship.
Don't associate with Allah any wali, holy man,
saint.
Don't you know that many Muslims, they are
worshipping saints.
Oh yes.
They go to the tombs.
If they need anything, they ask them.
They offer sacrifices at the tombs, mausoleums.
They make tawaf around their graves.
When they are in trouble, instead of saying,
oh Allah, they cry, oh Abdu'l-Qadir
Jilani.
And they believe.
There's one sheikh in the YouTube, Sufi Sheikh,
he mentioned a story.
He said people in the past were travelling
on the back of the camels.
And one of them was unable to continue
the journey, so they left him and they
left, continued their journey.
He said while he was there, he called
Abdu'l-Qadir Jilani.
All of a sudden, there's this man in
the back of his animal, giving him help,
telling him, get up.
Come.
In no time, they were in Medina.
He dropped him and he left.
He said, who are you?
He said, I'm Abdu'l-Qadir Jilani.
Abdu'l-Qadir Jilani came out from his
grave in Iraq and many Muslims like that.
And if you criticize and tell them this
is shirk and you should not do this
thing, because you Wahhabi, you don't know.
You Wahhabi, you don't know Islam, you hate
the Prophet, you hate the Awliya of Allah,
and he will use all types of insults.
This is what is happening.
Many Muslims, they are worshipping other than Allah.
Because dua is ibadah.
The dua is ibadah.
The Prophet, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, said, al
-dua huwa al-ibadah.
Dua is ibadah.
Wa qala rabbukum ad'uuni astajib lakum.
Your Lord said, call upon Me and I
will answer your call.
So instead of saying, Ya Allah!
No.
Istighafa is ibadah.
To cry when you are in dire need.
It's ibadah.
So you are asking somebody else.
Asking the dead who they do not hear
you.
You say, no, no, no, they hear us.
So they give the dead attributes of Allah.
That wherever you are, Abdul Qadir Jilani, Ya
Rahimahu Allah, will hear you, wherever you are.
And he will reach you, wherever you are.
This is what is believed by many Muslims.
Many Muslims, they have this wrong aqeedah and
they commit shirk.
They sacrifice.
Dabh is dabh ibadah or not?
It is ibadah.
We have given you the Qawthar.
So pray to your Lord and offer your
sacrifice to Him.
Most certainly, we have given you, O Muhammad,
the fountain, the river, the Qawthar.
So pray to your Lord and offer your
sacrifice to Him.
They go and they offer sacrifices at the
tomb of the saint.
We have given you the Qawthar.
So pray to your Lord and offer your
sacrifice to Him.
Say, my Salah, my prayer, my Nusrat, my
sacrifice, my life, my death, Lillahi Rabbil Alameen,
wa abudullaha wa la tashriku bihi shay'an.
Not any saint, not any wali, nothing.
Saint worship, not in Islam.
Saint worship in Catholicism.
The Catholics, they worship saints.
But this bid'ah entered into Islam.
So, they are worshipping saints.
Wa abudullaha.
Worship Allah.
Ibn al-Qayyim, rahimahullah, he mentioned in
his Nuniyyah, beautiful, beautiful, poetic verses, defining the
ibadah.
Wa ibadat ar-Rahmani.
Wa ibadat ar-Rahmani ghayatu hubbihi.
Maa dhulli abidhi huma qutbani.
Wa ibadat ar-Rahmani ghayatu hubbihi.
Maa dhulli abidhi huma qutbani.
Ibadat ar-Rahmani, worshipping the merciful, is the
maximum love.
You devote your maximum love to Allah.
You offer your maximum love to Allah.
You dedicate all your love to Allah.
Ghayatu hubbihi.
So the ibadah is reaching the maximum hubb,
love.
Loving Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Who deserves, deserves to be loved.
Because for everything, for his benevolence, for his
kindness, for his beautiful names and beautiful attributes,
he deserves to be worshipped.
For his greatness, for his majesty, he deserves
to be worshipped.
So, you worship Allah.
You love Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
The hubb is very essential.
The ibadah, the core of it, is the
hubb, the love.
Love for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
You love Allah.
And once you love Allah, you enjoy it.
You enjoy obeying him, the ibadah.
Whatever you do, you enjoy it, you like
it.
As the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam used
to tell Bilal, regarding the Salah, Ah Bilal,
arishna biha ya Bilal.
Arishna biha ya Bilal.
Stop the Salah, Bilal.
Let us enjoy the Salah.
Let us have this sense of relaxation.
Wa ibadatu rahman ghayatu hubbihi.
So to love Allah to the maximum.
Because Allah wants this heart.
And wants this heart only for Him.
Wants this heart to be attached to Him.
Rahyatu hubbihi.
Maa dhulli abidhi huma qutbani.
These are two inseparable parts of the ibadah.
Rahyatu l-hubb, maximum love for Allah.
Wa dhulli abidhi.
And the maximum humility and humbleness from the
worshipper.
Maximum love and maximum humility.
Maximum humbleness.
So I am very humble down to earth
for my Rabb.
I lower this forehead only for Him.
I bow only for Him.
I prostrate only for Him.
Maa dhulli abidhi.
The abid, the worshipper should be in that
state of abudiyah, humbleness, humility.
I am His servant.
Imam Ibn Qayyim, Rahim Allah, mentioned.
Imam Ahmed also mentioned that in the salah,
why we put our hands like this?
And we put our heads down.
And we are looking at where we are
going to put our foreheads.
We are like that in the salah.
He said you are like prisoners.
Captives of war.
Prisoners of war.
Yeah.
We are prisoners.
We are captives standing before our Lord.
And we beg Him to emancipate us and
to set us free from the fire.
That's the ibadah.
Actualizing the abudiyah in your life.
Ghayat al-hub, ghayat al-dhull.
You humble yourselves.
You are in this state of humility for
Allah only.
You don't humiliate yourself.
You don't lower yourself for anyone but for
Allah.
That's why in all the salah, Allahu Akbar,
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar.
It's greater than anything.
So I prostrate for Him.
I bow for Him because He is Akbar,
the greatest.
These are
two inseparable components.
They go together.
These like two posts, two pillars, two columns.
And on top of this column, these two
columns, there is the sphere of the ibadah
rotating.
On top of this, the sphere of the
ibadah.
The sphere of the ibadah, these are the
two columns for it.
Two main ingredients.
On top of this is this structure of
the ibadah.
Like a sphere rotating.
وعليهما فلك العبادة دائر ما دار حتى قامت
القوانين This sphere will not rotate until these
two columns are there in place.
Maximum love and maximum dhull.
Humility, humbleness.
تواضع والواصل وعليهما فلك العبادة
دائر ما دار حتى قامت القطبان وما
داره بالأمر أمر رسوله لا بالهوى والنفس والشيطان
The ibadah is based on what?
How do you worship Allah?
You worship Allah according to what He says
and according to what His Prophet said.
وما داره بالأمر أمر رسوله This sphere will
rotate by the command of Allah and His
Messenger.
وما داره بالأمر أمر رسوله لا بالهوى والنفس
والشيطان The ibadah should not be based on
your whims and desires and the satanic whispers,
satanic ideas, satanic thoughts.
وما داره بالأمر أمر رسوله لا بالهوى والنفس
والشيطان How many Muslims, they think they are
worshipping Allah but not according to what Allah
said or what His Prophet ﷺ said.
Not according to the Kitab and Sunnah.
No?
According to what they think is okay.
What the Mashayikh invented for them and
Allah will not accept that.
Remember the conditions in order for Allah to
accept your ibadah.
There are three conditions.
Tawheed, Iman, Ikhlas, Sincerity, complete agreement to the
Kitab and Sunnah.
Any of these three conditions, if it is
not fulfilled, your ibadah will be rejected, will
not be accepted.
I am sincere, I want to worship Allah.
Yeah, you are worshipping Allah in the wrong
way.
Allah created you to worship Him not in
your own terms, but in His terms.
That's what Allah created you.
He told you, I want you to worship
Me as My Prophet ﷺ worshipped Me and
sent Muhammad ﷺ for you to follow him
as your role model.
We are living in the example of Muhammad
ﷺ.
Is it a good example?
In the person of the Prophet ﷺ for
you.
No, no, we are not following his Sunnah.
We follow what others concocted and invented.
Allah will say, okay, go.
I will not accept it.
Whoever invents anything in our matter will not
be accepted from him.
It will be rejected.
It will be rejected.
Allah will not accept it.
Because this is not the ibadah that Allah
wants from you.
Subhanallah, I want you always to remember this.
When a man came to Imam Malik in
the Masjid of the Prophet ﷺ and he
asked Imam Malik ﷺ, Oh Imam, I want
to make Ihram.
He wears the Ihram.
And to say the Talbiyah.
Where should I do it?
Can I do Ihram from the Masjid?
He said, no.
Go and make Ihram from the Miqat.
He said, I want to make, commence the
ritual here in the Masjid.
Imam Malik told him, I fear for you
that you will be stuck with the calamity.
You will be hit with an affliction.
He said, what fitna, oh Imam?
It's only a few miles I add.
He said, that's it?
You think you are doing good deeds that
the Prophet ﷺ was not aware of it?
This is the problem.
This is the fitna.
This is the fitna.
You think by starting your Ihram, the ritual
and the Talbiyah from inside the Masjid, you
are doing something righteous.
And this righteous deed, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was
not aware.
He was not aware of it.
He was unaware.
So you defeated your Prophet ﷺ and you
realized that this good deed, your Prophet ﷺ
was not aware of it.
This is the fitna.
This shows the fiqh of Imam Malik.
Today you hear, what's wrong with it, Akhi?
Zikr, people are making zikr.
Who told you this is zikr?
Who told you it's zikr?
Is this the zikr that Allah told us
to do?
Is it?
Is this zikr when you are dancing and
jumping up and down?
This is the ibadah?
This is the zikr that brings peace to
the heart?
Holding your hand, jumping up and down in
the Masjid?
Going mad, crazy?
Because that's zikr?
No.
That's satanic.
We feel good, Sheikh.
We feel good.
Yes, you feel good.
Shaytan will make you feel good.
But that's not the zikr that Allah ﷻ
described and Allah told us to do.
This deen, this sphere of the ibadah will
move on by the command of Allah and
His Messenger, not by following your whims and
desires and whatever the cursed one tells you
and your nafs tells you dictates to you.
وَالنَّاسُ بَعْدُ فَمُشْرِكُمْ بِإِلَهِ أَوْ ذُبْتِ دَاعٍ أَوْ
لَهُ الْوَصْفَانِ Ibn Qayyim said, the Muslims, in
this regard, Muslims, وَالنَّاسُ بَعْدُ فَمُشْرِكُمْ بِإِلَهِ or
mankind in general, وَالنَّاسُ بَعْدُ فَمُشْرِكُمْ بِإِلَهِ Some
people, they are associating partners with Allah.
They commit shirk.
فَمُشْرِكُمْ بِإِلَهِ He associates partners with Allah.
وَالنَّاسُ بَعْدُ فَمُشْرِكُمْ بِإِلَهِ So this is one
category.
أَوْ ذُبْتِ دَاعٍ Another category, they are innovators,
concocted, invented, innovations and added to the deen,
as if the deen is incomplete.
So they are inventing.
So they are saying, the deen is incomplete.
There are gaps, so we are filling the
gaps by this bid'ah.
And they call them bid'ah hasana, good
bid'ah, good innovations.
What makes them good innovations?
Because the deen is in need of them.
And the deen accepts them.
And the deen accepts them because the deen
is incomplete.
Because what will accept addition is only the
incomplete.
Complete will not accept.
But Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, O Muslim,
says the deen is complete.
اليوم أكملت لكم دينكم اليوم أكملت لكم دينكم
وأكملت عليكم نعمتي وأكملت عليكم نعمتي ورضيت لكم
الإسلام دينها Allah is saying this?
Today I have perfected your deen, your religion.
Completed my favours upon you.
I've chosen Islam as a way of life
for you.
So the deen is complete.
So it will not accept anything.
So why are you bringing new things to
the deen?
Why?
That's why Imam Malik he said من زعم
listen to this من زعم أن في الإسلام
اليوم دينها So Imam Malik said من زعم
whoever claims whoever claims أن في الإسلام بدعة
حسنة that there is a good innovation in
Islam in the Islam, in the deen فإنما
يتهم النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم Most certainly
he is accusing Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه
وسلم that he betrayed the message and he
took part of the message Allah saying he
completed the deen and you guys are saying
the deen, no, incomplete and we are adding
new things So that means the Prophet did
not convey the message completely so he took
part of it and you guys are trying
to make it perfect So you are insulting
and accusing your Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم
that he betrayed the message فإنما يتهم النبي
صلى الله عليه وسلم بالخيانة إني سمعت الله
يقول I heard Allah saying in the Quran
of course اليوم أكملت لكم اليوم أكملت لكم
Today I have perfected your deen أتممت عليكم
نعمتي I completed my faith that's upon you
ورضيت لكم الإسلام دينا I have chosen الإسلام
as a way of life for you وما
لم يكن يومئذ دينا فلن يكون اليوم الدين
What was not part of the deen at
the time of the Prophet صلى الله عليه
وسلم will never be part of the deen
today An Arab poet he said بدين
المسلمين بدين المسلمين إن جاز زيد
فجاز النقص أيضاً أن يكون كفذ القول قبحاً
يا خليلي ولا يرضاه إلا الجاهلون بدين المسلمين
إن جاز زيد زيادة If it is permissible
in the deen of the Muslims to accept
addition so the deen, Muslim deen the Muslim
religion accepts addition بدين المسلمين إن جاز زيد
If addition is permissible فجاز النقص أيضاً أن
يكون If it is permissible to add then
it is permissible to delete If I can
add I can also delete بدين المسلمين إن
جاز زيد فجاز النقص أيضاً أن يكون If
it is permissible to add then it is
permissible to delete, remove because what accepts addition
accepts delete so I can add I can
delete then we'll be just like the other
deviant sect those who adulterated their scriptures and
subhanallah this is what happened you'll find the
innovations the bid'ahs in Islam in everything
in everything there new things added bid'ahs,
innovations in the wudu wudu Allah taught us
how to make wudu the prophet peace be
upon him he performed wudu in front of
the sahaba Sayyidina Uthman he performed the wudu
in front of the sahaba and see how
many Muslims today perform wudu you'll find they
invented things where they are doing the wudu
for example there is a special dua for
wudu there is no wudu special dua except
you say bismillah and when you finish say
no
no no when you wash your face say
Allahumma bayyid wajhi when you wash your face
oh Allah white in my face on the
day of resurrection that day when many faces
will be dark and gloomy so when you
wash your right hand say oh Allah let
me receive my book in my right hand
when you wash your left hand oh Allah
save me not to receive my book in
my left hand so they invented for every
organ limb you wash your
right foot oh Allah make my foot firm
on the when we cross where did you
get this from then come to the salah
the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
told us you say allahu akbar and you
start your salah no no no you have
to say the niya articulate your intention articulate
it what is intention?
intention is something in the heart something in
the mind when you get to take wudhu
you know you are taking wudhu to go
and pray maghrib or isha you know that
when you are going to the masjid if
someone asks you on the way where are
you going?
didn't you hear the adhan?
intention is here you don't say I intend
to visit my father tonight at 7 o
'clock do you say that?
or you just go and visit your father
no in the salah I hear them when
I pray without mentioning the country the one
who prays next to me most of the
time you start the takbeera and the imam
starts reading and the poor guy is struggling
to collect the niya the intention nawaitu usalli
salat for example maghrib al maghrib salat rakat
illahi ta'ala mustaqbila al qiblah ma'mumin when
did you get this?
I intend to pray the maghrib three rakat
as if Allah is not away Allah doesn't
know that you are praying maghrib three prayers
three rakat for Allah facing the qiblah ma'mumin
I am led not a leader where did
you get this from?
in everything innovations so Ibn Qayyim is
saying wal nasu ba'du wa mushrikun bi ilahi
the people some of them are mushrik they
associate partners with Allah calling them asking them
offer sacrifices to them wal nasu ba'du wa
mushrikun bi ilahi audhu bi jija bid'ah
doing bid'ah practicing innovations advocates of innovations
when the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said
man ahdatha fi amrina hadha ma lisa minhu
fawad whoever invents and innovates in our matter
our deen anything that's not part of it
it will be rejected it will be rejected
every innovation in the deen is misguidance but
the deen is complete you want to invent
innovate oh the dunya go and invent in
the dunya no no dunya we will not
invent and innovate the deen which is complete
we will spoil it and we will not
maintain it in its pristine form early muslims
they understood the hadith of the prophet sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam so that islam gave them
leeway to invent in the dunya and we
were pioneers and we our forefathers established civilization
civilization that has no parallel in the history
of man what you see today they picked
up from what our forefathers left because they
knew the deen dunya we invent and innovate
deen just maintain it but we came the
generations after that no the deen let us
spoil it and add things to it wal
nasu ba'du fa mushrikum bi ilahihi awdu bti
ja'il awlahu al wasfa'il or some
people they are doing shirk some they are
practicing bid'ah some the combination of the
two shirk and bid'ah together combination of
the two may allah guide may allah guide
the muslims so here my dear brothers and
sisters i want you to understand the concept
of ibadah how to worship allah and to
shun all forms of shirk all forms of
shirk you disbelieve in every ism communism capitalism
democracy modernism secularism any ism you
disbelieve you believe only in allah said you
believe in the words of allah that is
the tawhid that is the concept of tawhid
that's how you actualize tawhid in your life
and that's how you actualize the servitude the
abudi in your life wa'budu allaha wa
la tushriku bihi shay'a shay'a shay
'a worship allah and associate no one no
one with him may allah's mercy upon the
soul of al muqtayim kun
wahidan fi wahidan for one be
one in one for one be one in
one i mean the way of the truth
and faith what did he mean by this
fali wahidin for one that's allah so you
worship only allah for one kun wahidan be
one monotheist worship only one and that's allah
fi wahidin in one way the way of
the prophet following his footsteps so you tread
tread and walk only in one way in
one way the way of the prophet walk
behind him follow his footsteps fali wahidin kun
wahidan fi wahidin a'ni tariqa al haqi
wal imani the way of the truth and
the iman may allah strengthen our iman may
allah keep us die upon the iman may
allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala keep us remain steadfast
on this beautiful deen until we breathe our
last and find our rabb pleased with all
of us ameen may allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala
forgive us our faults and mistakes and ignorance
may allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala bless us with
the beneficial knowledge our righteous deeds and may
allah guide our ummah to the haqq and
unite our hearts to the haqq and may
allah reward all of you my dear brothers
and sisters immensely for your patience and attendance
barak allah feekum yazaikum allahu khaira assalamu alaikum
wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh ameen wa alaikum assalam
wa barakatuh jazakallahu khair for the beneficial reminder
and lesson we've received a question please let
me know once you've received ok
go ahead the first question is can a
muslim business person do trading with a non
muslim for non muslim female clothes that is
not covering the entire body or the dress
okay the answer in principle the answer yes
but providing that he that the most I
mean the customers are muslims for example so
a muslim woman when she buys these clothes
she will buy them for her husband to
wear them at home she will not wear
them but for example if someone steps in
and she is muslim and wearing her meaning
and she is not covered and she is
buying these clothes naturally she will wear them
and walk in the street so she will
become source of fitna so I mean that's
why it is very difficult very difficult because
to to encourage the women to wear these
clothes which are not decent outside home even
at home in the bedroom then I mean
as a sign of wala if he feels
that the the women who are buying they
are not practicing and they are going to
wear them on the street then to avoid
this type of business okay because he will
be questioned on the day of resurrection next
but if the as I said in fact
you are in a muslim country and your
customers are muslim women and and you know
she the woman who is in front of
you she is covered and she is buying
these clothes she is buying them for her
husband next question next question what constitutes as
free mixing and what is the best manner
to leave such gatherings if they are quote
unquote educational or family events free mixing men
and women who are not that's it very
simple men and women who can marry each
other and they are you know together in
weddings or whatever or dinner you know that's
not in islam our islam is very clear
on these methods and most of these weddings
the music and dancing this is what they
say next so is there a prescribed way
to leave an event or the best you
know how would you go about informing them
or doing the correct thing you advise them
you tell them this is haram you have
to call a spade spade no beating about
the bush no you have to call spade
spade this is haram and they will not
attend they will be angry they will be
upset let them so be it so what's
the problem and you want allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala to bless the wedding while you
are doing haram you want barakah that allah
to bless this marriage and you begin this
event by displeasing allah making allah angry with
you okay so there should be separation the
men together women together and the women they
can do whatever they like they want to
dance they can dance they want to sing
they can sing as a matter of fact
you give them actually privacy to have this
privacy and they enjoy themselves because there is
a place for them and no men there
but of course even in women when they
are together they have to be careful no
cameras should go in because and many weddings
are there on the lake because not every
muslim woman fears allah so they go there
and that's why in some muslim countries these
halls where you can hire them for the
wedding they take the mobile phones at the
entrance and they give you a receipt with
the number of your telephone or something like
that so you stick up so when you
come out you pick your phone so no
phones you don't go there with your mobile
phones next Sheikh we have a follow up
question is this do these rules apply for
the workplace or the market stores or if
you have a meeting with someone how should
you go about this as a muslim would
you mind repeating the question yeah the follow
up question is do these rules apply in
the workplace or the markets or in a
meeting at workplace this is what we fact
the reality there are women there but what
they should avoid is the halwa you and
the women by yourselves but if you are
big office there are women there are men
what to do but lower your gaze don't
look at them and if you are talking
to someone because of work you have to
lower your gaze and be official be official
I hope this is clear to you the
same thing for a sister if she is
working and she is the only one to
bring the bed to the table she is
the only bread gainer she has to fear
Allah and observe her hijab and lower her
gaze and be official in communicating with the
opposite * I hope this is clear to
the questioner should
I move on to the next question the
next question who are the ahlul kitab are
the christians and jews of today also considered
among amongst the ahlul kitab the answer yes
jews and christians are ahlul kitab and because
Allah mentioned that the ahlul kitab and he
mentioned that they were worshipping Christ and Allah
told us everything about them so they are
unless for example you know that this particular
person okay is an atheist for example and
he slaughters animals he is a butcher and
tells me no because I know him he
is an atheist he is not christian so
that animal slaughtered by an atheist is not
halal for me but if the butcher was
a christian okay or a jew and he
slaughtered that animal then it is halal for
me yes next next question can a righteous
person give evil eye if yes should we
tell the person who has given the evil
eye and does the forgiveness forgiveness of Allah
and the person yes the evil eye is
true and a righteous person can that's why
when you say something okay you have to
invoke Allah's blessing on that person okay to
barik Imam Malik reported in his muta'ib
an incident two of the sahaba righteous definitely
sahaba they were bathing swimming one of them
has a fair skin fair skin so the
other one said wow your skin is fairer
and whiter than the skin of a virgin
girl who is confined in her in her
tent in her home because woman who is
always there in her house no sunlight okay
so her skin will be white so he's
saying your skin is whiter than the skin
of this virgin girl that is living in
her home and never comes out what happened
to the to the one who had fair
skin he become unconscious fell down he hit
him the evil eye hit him and he
fell unconscious so one of the sahaba ran
to the prophet and he said this what
happened and the prophet came and he rebuked
the one who talked said why didn't you
say god bless you why you didn't say
these things why are you killing each other
and then the prophet he asked the one
who talked to perform wudu ablution so he
washed his face and the water is collected
on the limbs and the water was collected
then the water was poured over the one
who was unconscious and immediately he got up
and he regained consciousness so yes you can
even harm your own child your own child
okay for example you are coming from the
office and this cute boy or girl hiding
himself or herself behind the door okay and
then runs to you and you say you
go like that happy so always say the
adhkar and always when you say something you
make tabrik make tabrik mashallah because the evil
eye is true and there are cases some
people they harm their wives or some they
harm themselves themselves so if you are standing
in front of the mirror don't admire your
look say mashallah you can harm yourself yes
but the evil eye is true and we
should not joke about it it's a fact
the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said the
evil eye can cause a man to die
to kill and he will end up in
the grave and you will also kill the
animal and the animal will end up being
cooked in the cooking pot what does it
mean some people when they see an animal
cow or camel that animal will collapse immediately
because the animal is hit by the evil
eye so people they have to rush and
slaughter it and they can eat it so
the evil eye is true so always say
say the adhkar say the dua mothers read
in your children before you go out or
if you are expecting women to visit you
read in your guests read in your children
give them the ruqya the prophet sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam used to read in al hasan
and al hussein and when he saw the
children of ja'far very weak he said
what's the problem they said this weakness is
due to the evil eye he said why
didn't you read on them etc.
next also some women they are ignorant for
example she is breastfeeding her child and many
ignorant women she brings up out the breast
in front of women and she is breastfeeding
and the child masha'Allah is suckling and
the milk is gushing and the woman and
one woman is staring and looking at her
the woman they leave the child is crying
and then the child will never take the
breast anymore so if you are breastfeeding your
child cover your child don't let anyone to
see you breastfeeding your child next the next
question is how can a man win his
wife's heart by treating her nicely a woman
when she receives nice treatment and respect from
her husband then she will do whatever you
want so respect her respect
her parents teach her nicely let her hear
from you nice words women they like to
hear love words romance bring her bouquet of
flowers from time to time take her outside
you and her only nobody else okay have
this mutual respect for each other then you
will win her heart because if you are
mistreating her hurting her or threatening her I
will get married I will get married this
is a disease many men they have he
knows he is not going to get married
just to make her feel bad don't do
that okay don't mention for example the
food cooked by other woman oh the food
of so and so is so nice women
they don't want to hear that because you
are comparing her food to the food of
that woman don't do that and I
will advise okay that you read this book
men are from Mars and women are from
Venus okay it's there on the net you
can download it read it because women the
way they think are different from the way
men think and also the way men think
is different from the way women think okay
so that's why we need to know each
other yes we are from Mars they are
from Venus so we need to know each
other that's why many of the problems marital
problems because of this men they don't know
women women they don't know the way men
think may Allah make all your marital relations
healthy and happy ameen next the next question
this is a comment actually the question or
the commenter wants to request if you could
provide some more poems about this since there
are some ulama that do not provide poems
on this topic inshallah it comes by itself
I don't intend listen to me when I
start my talk I have no clue what
I'm going to say apart from what is
in the text these things they just come
naturally and so inshallah they will come naturally
inshallah next the next question how can one
ask for forgiveness from giving evil eye if
someone I mean harm someone he has to
go and perform the wudu so that the
person okay inshallah will be cured because
I know cases one two of his children
died because of him evil eye next the
next question if my wife wishes to visit
her parents and there is no muhram to
take her is she allowed to travel alone
if it is safe to do so no
she is not allowed it is haram even
if her parents are dying even if her
parents are dying she can not travel the
prophet made it very clear okay when a
man came on and said oh prophet of
allah my wife set out for hajj without
muhram with a group of muslim and I
registered for jihad to go for jihad the
prophet said to him leave the jihad and
follow your wife go catch up with your
wife and perform hajj together leave the jihad
so it is not a joke and then
the questioner is saying it is safe to
do so really safe who told you safe
you know sitting next to your wife huh
many of you have traveled a man next
to a woman and the moment the plane
takes off he looks to the woman hi
why he wants to catch with the woman
because this woman there is no man with
her no one to protect her or if
he has her baby with her he will
start chatting with the baby oh cute child
you are really cute and the mother will
smile relax huh breaking the ice I
will tell you this story actually true story
what happened in the past when the muslims
were living in Andalusia Andalusia Andalus Ibn Hazm
mentioned this in his book there is a
book by Ibn Hazm which means the cloak
the ring of the pigeon he said a
group of women they went for hajj by
themselves of course in those days by sea
on their way back after the hajj all
of them committed zina with the captain all
of them slept with the captain of the
ship all all those women who performed hajj
every night this shaytan will go to one
woman and she could not resist and he
would sleep with her the next day they
are talking to each other he came to
me and I couldn't push him and you
know what happened and every day he will
go and sleep with one woman their head
the amira he said if he comes to
me tonight I will cut his organ I
said this is the plate I prepared for
him she was the last one he entered
her room where she was sleeping and the
plate didn't work and she didn't use the
plate and she joined the club another story
happened mentioned by sheikh al-bani it was
a domestic flight and the husband dropped his
wife in the airport and he left now
and this woman happened to be very beautiful
and not of course practicing and impious so
the air hostess also like her she is
immoral woman when she saw her she went
and informed the captain who happened to be
a womanizer and she told him there is
catch there is a woman here she said
talk to her she went started chatting to
her and she convinced her of the haram
she agreed what to do they are in
the air heading towards the destination the captain
announced ladies and gentlemen we have technical fault
we have to divert the flight and we
will land in this airport and he did
only to sleep with that woman so don't
tell me it is safe leave alone something
can happen to the plane technical fault anything
so a man should not let his wife
or daughter to travel without a mahram the
mahram is your guard to protect you and
I mentioned to you the story of the
woman in Mecca during the hajj she went
to stone the jamalat Umar ibn Rabia Umar
ibn Rabia is a famous poet and who
loved women and he composed many poems about
women etc so when he saw this girl
this woman he approached her talked to her
to harass her she told him we are
in the hajj he didn't listen the
next night also she went there he was
waiting third time she didn't come alone she
came with her brother when he saw there
is a man with her he ran away
and Arab women in the past they were
also poet poets so when she saw him
she said running she said she said teaching
He said, the dogs, the dogs are the
men, those who just like to harass women.
He said, The dogs will attack the one
that has no lines to defend him.
So the sheep that there are no guard
to protect, these dogs will attack that flock
of sheep.
But the dogs, when they see, okay, there
is a guard and fierce animal there guarding
the flock, they run away.
And the same way this man, he ran
away when he saw there is a man
next to her.
And another poet said, Inna ar-rijala an
-nadhiroona ila an-nisaa.
Mithlu al-kilabi ta-toofu bil-luhmani, illa
mtasun tilka al-luhumi.
His wujuha ukilat bila a'iwati wala asma
'i.
Said, inna ar-rijala, the men who are
staring at women, looking at women, they are
like the dogs going around a piece of
meat.
Let's say you have some meat here and
you are sitting next to that meat.
The dogs, they want to * any piece
from that meat, but they are afraid because
you are there.
But if no one is guarding that piece
of meat, it's easy for them.
So they are like the dogs that go
around that pile of meat.
Then he said, if that pile of meat
is not guarded and protected by the lions,
the men, then that meat will be eaten
freely.
Ukilat bila a'iwati wala asma'i.
That meat will be devoured, will be eaten
freely.
Okay?
With neither compensation nor price.
So, this is the nature of men.
They are hungry wolves, my sisters.
So be careful.
Don't travel without a mahram.
When Allah says that you should have a
mahram, because He knows men.
That is for your own benefit, to protect
you, to protect you.
Next?
BarakAllahu fiqh for the important advice and the
story, Sheikh.
Just a quick follow-up question.
Does this ruling apply for a woman or
a wife who's traveling, who's driving from point
A to point B, directly to the parents'
house?
If it is a journey, still.
If it is within the city, fine.
But if it is a journey, which is
70 kilometers and things like that, no.
He cannot travel without a mahram.
Okay.
JazakAllah khair.
The next question is, can a customer return
an item that has no deficiency while he
chose it willingly?
The answer, no.
Unless the seller accepts.
But if there is deficiency, then defect, the
answer is yes.
Because the transaction is valid.
Next?
BarakAllahu fiqh, Sheikh.
One question has come.
Please, could you highlight some of the ulama
who have learned under Imam Sheikh al-Albani
so that they can learn from them?
Any notable students of Sheikh Imam al-Albani?
Okay.
Sheikh al-Albani, rahimAllah, his students are so
many.
Okay.
But I mentioned just, for example, in Jordan,
one of the, I mean, who is now
really, uh, you can consider him, uh, he's
an ulama, is Sheikh, uh, Mashkoor Hassan Salman.
Okay.
You can, he has, uh, classes live on
the net with YouTube.
Okay.
There are his books there on the net.
You can download them.
Among his students, Sheikh Abu Ishaq al-Huwaini,
one of the muhaqqiqun and muhadithin in our
time.
Okay.
So you can benefit from them.
You can also benefit from, uh, students of
Sheikh Muqbir, rahimAllah, like Sheikh Mustafa al-Alawi
in Egypt.
Yeah.
Those are just few.
Among, of course, the students of Sheikh al
-Albani, Hussain Awaisha, Salim
al-Hilali.
These are his students.
Next.
This was the final question.
May Allah bless and accept the attendance of
all the students.
And may Allah accept it from the Sheikh
for the beneficial reminder and the lesson as
always.
And may Allah bless all of you.
Protect all of you.
Bless your family.
May Allah elevate your status in this world
and in jannat al-na'im.
Ameen.
Until we meet, inshaAllah, in the coming session,
I leave you in Allah's company and protection.
Bi-hifdhullahi wa-ra'ayyatihi.
As-salamu alaykum.
