Amma ba'du ma libadh Brothers and sisters in
Islam Today is our weekly class Kitab At
-Tawheed by Imam Al-Mujadid Sheikh Muhammad Abdul
Wahab Rahimahullah Ta'ala and we are still
in the introduction In the previous sessions we
discussed the meaning of the word Tawheed linguistically,
lexically and technically and today we will proceed
insha'Allah and talk about the types of
the Tawheed or the classifications of the Tawheed
or the different categories of the word this
concept At-Tawheed or the Aqeedah Aqeedah At
-Tawheed and I kindly request each of you
to start taking notes My dear brothers and
sisters in Islam May Allah Subh'anaHu Wa
Ta-A'la One minute, let me mute
this Sorry
for the inconvenience My dear brothers and sisters
in Islam We have to keep in mind
that our success in this life and the
next cannot be achieved unless and until we
actualize the Tawheed in our life and fulfill
its conditions because that is the very purpose
for which Allah created us So unless and
until we single out Allah and we offer
all our actions all our acts exclusively to
Him then no salvation, no deliverance
no Jannah if we want salvation if we
want to meet Allah and find Him pleased
with all of us and grant us by
His mercy and grace admission to the Jannah
because entering the Jannah is a sign of
His pleasure with you that He is pleased
with you Not like the Sufis The Sufis
are saying we are not interested in the
Jannah Jannah is not what we are aspiring
Oh yes, this is there in their books
Anyone wants to argue, he is most welcome
We worship Allah because He deserves to be
worshipped not because we are afraid of His
* or coveting for the Jannah Apparently this
sounds, wow, wonderful But when one analyzes this
statement he soon discovers that such a statement
reflects that the one who said it he
doesn't know the greatness and the majesty of
Allah Allah
loves to be feared He loves to be
feared and for the one who fears Him
He said وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتْهَا For
he who fears the standing the standing before
Allah there will be two gardens two Jannah
for him because he fears Me So we
have to fear Allah and He should be
feared At the same time, we love Him
Glory be to Him So He wants to
be loved and He wants to be feared
And this is how you strike the balance
in your journey towards your Creator You
worship Him while you are in this state
between hope and fear As the ulema said
like a bird flying with two wings two
wings With one wing you will not the
bird will not fly will fall down So
you have two wings you flutter them to
travel and you balance your flight you balance
your flight When you feel that you started
to feel secured and the level of fear
is dropping raise the wing of fear because
if the fear is dropping the level of
it then you will treat your sins lightly
and you will cross the boundaries and violate
the and trespass the limits set by Allah
So the moment you sense that the level
of fear is dropping raise the wing of
fear Until you start to feel you are
going to despair despair of Allah's mercy because
you are always in a state of fear
then lower the wing of fear and raise
the wing of hope that He is the
most kind the most merciful the most compassionate
the most forgiving He loves us more than
our mothers He is the most just to
revive the hope and diminish the despair This
is how you worship Allah and when you
are breathing your last dying you only raise
the wing of hope forget about your sins
forget about what you did only think good
of Allah and have husn dhan that's when
you are tied So those ignorant Sufis they
said, you know we are not we are
not afraid of the fire and we are
not interested in the Jannah when the Prophets
and Messengers of Allah they were asking Allah
the Jannah and asking Him to save them
from the fire Are the Sufis better than
the Prophets of Allah?
Are the Sufis actualize the servitude more than
Allah's Prophets?
The answer, of course not of course not
The Bedouin, he said to the Prophet of
Allah O Prophet of Allah I see your
lips always moving and you are murmuring saying
something I cannot hear and Muad, likewise, is
doing the same The Prophet asked the Bedouin
tell me what do you say in your
dua what do you supplicate what do you
ask The Bedouin said I ask Allah to
grant me admission to the Jannah and to
save me from the fire that's what I
say The Prophet of Allah told him kulluna
hawlaha nudandin I and Muad all
our supplications are around that all our duas
are around that asking Allah the Jannah and
deliverance to save us from the fire and
in the dua of the Prophet of Allah
Allahumma inni as'aluka al-jannah wa'udhu
bika min al-nar O Allah I ask
you the Jannah and to protect me from
the fire so this statement of the Sufis
is absolutely incorrect and wrong that's one thing
second thing which shows their compound ignorance that
the attributes of Allah there are two categories
Sifat Jalal Sifat Jalal one of the
attributes of Allah Sifat Jalal another
attribute it is about the merciful aspect or
the aspect or the side of the mercy
but there is another aspect another part of
the attributes attributes that are related to the
majesty to his greatness the greatness of Allah
and under this falls feeling
and to be afraid of the fire that's
why among Allah's names is Al-Jabbar Almighty
Al-Muntaqim these are aspects of
the greatness and the majesty of the creator
Subhanallah so the hellfire is related that he
created it to manifest the meaning of these
names that are related to his greatness, his
majesty, his power his anger these names and
these attributes are manifested and because of that
he created the hellfire as a form of
the manifestation and because he is the most
kind the most merciful the most benevolent he
created the Jannah so these are manifestations that
he created these things to show us that
we have to fear this creator and love
him in the hadith the
hellfire and the Jannah are bragging okay each
one is saying I'm better than you boasting
about themselves the hellfire is telling the Jannah
look to my inhabitants see my inmates
see my clients see who are inside me
dictators, tyrants, criminals all the mischief all the
evildoers these are my inmates these are my
inhabitants indwellers the Jannah says my
indwellers are the needy, the poor, the downtrodden
the devout worshippers the martyrs, the prophets the
messengers and this argument is going on between
the Jannah and the hellfire then Allah said
to both of them okay he said to
the hellfire anti-adhabi anti-adhabi usibu biki
al-ashar you are the manifestation of my
anger and my punishment this is how I
show my anger like I created you to
punish those who disobeyed me and then he
tells the Jannah wa anti rahmati you are
my mercy which I shower on those who
obeyed me those who loved me and each
one of you will be full both of
you will be full don't worry you, the
Jannah, you will be packed and you, the
hellfire, also will be packed, you will be
full okay so now my dear brothers and
sisters rectify your concept about asking Allah and
fearing Allah and the Jannah and the hellfire
etc.
don't fall into the trap of those deviant
Sufis and I warn you if you want
salvation, follow the Prophet ﷺ and his
companions the Sahaba and forget about the rest
forget about the rest they
attribute to Rabi'ah al-Anawiyah rahim Allah
that she they quoted her saying Allahumma inni
lam a'buduka khawfan min narika wala tama
'an fee jannatika O Allah, I didn't worship
you because I am longing and yearning for
your Jannah wala khawfan min narika neither because
I am longing for the Jannah nor that
I am interested I am afraid of the
hellfire I am sure many of you heard
this and you hear this in the circles
of the Sufis walakin abadtuka la'annaka ahlan
lida'aka I worshipped you because you deserve
to be worshipped hmm now the question is
Rabi'ah huh rahim Allah knows Allah better
than the Prophet ﷺ and his Prophets the
Prophets of Allah innuhum kanu usairu'una fil
khairat faid'unana the Prophets of Allah they
were racing in doing good deeds and they
are afraid of Allah this is Allah's Prophets
or another Sufi these are their books by
the way I told you many times I
have a corner for the Sufi books in
my library and sometimes I just pick any
of these books talk about the Karamat of
the Awliya just to to laugh for a
while to have something to change your mind
like we have the Tabaqat al-Awliya al
-Sha'arani it's a famous book for the
Sufis or Tabaqat wadhi fallah so when you
read these books you cannot resist laughing so
one of those Sufis he said sa'altu
allaha thalathan fa'ataani ithnataynu wa man'ani
ithtalitha he's saying I asked Allah three wishes
he gave me two fulfilled two wishes for
me and refused the third one like in
the hadith Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam asked
Allah three things Allah gave him only he
gave him two and refused one the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he asked Allah not
to wipe his ummah he said this is
guaranteed your ummah will never be wiped out
okay and to forgive his ummah that's also
given and not to let them hate one
another and do not let enmity find its
way among them and in their hearts Allah
told him no they will be there this
enmity among them and they will be fighting
each other so this Sufis is doing the
same thing he said three wishes I asked
and Allah gave me two and stopped and
one refused I asked him to grant anyone
who visits my my tomb to grant him
forgiveness to forgive him Allah said done I'm
just quoting okay second thing second wish to
give him whoever visits my tomb the reward
of Hajj and Umrah that he was giving
to me the third thing I asked him
to throw me into the fire to cast
me into Jahannam and Allah said no why
he said because if I am thrown into
the fire the fire will be put out
Jahannam will be put out extinguished and it
will become green meadows so I'm going to
spoil it so that's why Allah refused see
the Kufr see the nonsense see the foolishness
call it whatever you want to call it
coming to our subject the Tawheed my dear
brothers and sisters in that you worship Allah
and Allah only and here today we will
be talking about mainly Tawheed which means singling
out Allah with respect regarding his own actions
his own actions so
the actions of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
and before we delve into this we will
go through some of the ayat that command
us to single him out regarding our own
actions because Allah entails and necessitates and and
entails and necessitates Tawheed of Ibadah because Allah
is my creator he is my provider he
is my cherisher he is my protector I
believe in that so he is the one
these are the qualifications for the true creator
so the one who created me deserves to
be worshipped alone I should worship no one
else the same thing when I believe that
Allah heals me Allah sees me and whatever
I want from him he responds to me
accepts my supplications he is all hearer, all
seer so I should only ask the one
who sees the one who hears the one
who knows I should not ask someone who
cannot hear me who cannot see me who
cannot help me I should not ask Abdel
Qadir Gilani Rahim Allah because he doesn't hear
me he doesn't see me and he is
unable to help me so I should ask
only Al Hayyu Qayyum the ever living subhanahu
wa ta'ala the one who monitors oversees
his kingdom Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says
in surat Hud ayah number one Alif Laam
Ra Kitabun Uhkimat Ayatuhu Thumma Fussilat Thumma Fussilat
Milladun Hakeem Alif Laam Ra this is a
book whose verses ayat are well perfected and
then fully explained it is from the one
who is all wise all aware so this
book the Quran which is the source of
our guidance its ayat are perfect Muhkamat
no flaws no defects and these
verses Muhkam and Mutashabih they are so well
because the Muhkam they are fundamentals they are
the fundamentals and they are perfected then Allah
he explain and give us the details of
these Muhkam verses that's why the Quran all
of it is Muhkam in the sense all
of it is perfect all of it is
Mutashabih in the sense of they resemble each
other all of it Muhkam in it Muhkam
and Mutashabih here the Muhkam are the verses
that have only one meaning and the Mutashabih
the verses that can lend themselves to interpretation
of more than one meaning and in order
to understand the Mutashabih you have to put
the Mutashabih the verse the ayat that can
lend itself to more than one meaning next
to the ayat that has only one and
these are unequivocal verses and then the meaning
becomes clear to you because the Quran explains
each other the ayat in the Quran they
explain one another for example it
is us, we who send down the Dhikr,
the reminder, the Quran and it is we
who is going to safeguard it, protect it
we, Allah uses the pronoun we Nahnu Nahnu
this pronoun denotes more than two that's why
the Christians they say you see, even the
Quran supports the doctrine of the Holy Trinity
the Father of the Son and the Holy
Ghost because the Quran says we when in
reality this we is the royal we the
king says we are the king etc now,
in order to understand what is this we
is it for honour or is it for
number plurality you put this ayah next to
the ayah Wa ilaahukum ilaahun wahid Muqtad you
put the Mutashabih next to the Muqtad Wa
ilaahukum ilaahun wahid your ilaah your deity, your
god is one so now when the two
verses are next to each other and the
ayah muhkam explicitly telling me god is one
so now I understand this we is the
royal we and Allah tells us in the
Quran those who have disease in their heart
they will leave the muhkam Wa ilaahukum ilaahun
wahid and they will follow the Mutashabih fa
amma alladhina fee qulubihim zayghun those who have
disease in their heart they follow the Mutashabih
and leave the muhkam so keep this in
mind the Quran all of it muhkam in
the sense all the verses are perfect and
complete and no flaws or defects all of
it Mutashabih they resemble and they look similar
to each other muhkam an mutashabih yes here
the verses that are anecdotal and the meaning
is clear and it can only mean one
thing Mutashabih there is a possibility that it
can be interpreted in more than one way
so but when you put the Mutashabih next
to the muhkam the meaning becomes clear so
this Quran all of its verses are muhkam
perfect they are locked from any any any
misconception or any misinterpretation muhkam nothing can be
added then Allah he details and explains these
verses in details and he is Hakeem and
Khabir and I want you when you are
reading the ayat see how Allah ends the
ayah and what name he chooses there are
two names here Hakeem and Khabir Hakeem always
so in Allah is always so whatever Allah
says there is wisdom behind it wisdom he
knows Khabir and he is all aware the
Khabir is the one who knows the details
the minute things so Allah sees everything knows
everything he is aware of everything and he
is always subhanahu wa ta'ala that is
ayah number one in surat Hud ayah number
two in surat Hud the next ayah says
Allah ta'abudu illa Allah I told you
the belief in Rububiyyah entails and necessitates and
imposes on us to worship him all so
if Allah he is the Hakeem he is
the Khabir he is the one who knows
everything then he is the one who deserves
to be worshipped see the next ayah and
see the connectivity between ayah number two and
one after he told us that he is
Hakeem and Khabir and he protected his book
and make it perfect and explained it thoroughly
to us then he said Allah ta'abudu
illa Allah innani lakum minhu nadheer wa basheer
tell them oh prophet Hud alayhi salam worship
none but Allah this Khabir al Hakeem al
Alim he is the one who deserves to
be worshipped worship none but Allah innani lakum
minhu surely I am a warner nadheer a
warner and deliverer deliverer of good news to
you from him then also Allah said in
surah Hud ayah 25 walaqad arsalna noohan ila
qawmihi inni lakum nadheerun mubeen subhanallah Allah subhana
wa ta'ala out of his mercy for
mankind he sent them messengers and prophets to
guide them and to warn them because Allah
is just and he is not going to
punish anyone who is ignorant until he makes
him aware of what he is doing that
what he is doing is wrong Allah says
we were not going this is royal way
we were not going to punish anyone hatta
until nabaatha we sent them messengers to teach
them that's why there is a category of
people who will be giving a chance in
the second life those that no prophet came
to them for example the duration between Isa
and the prophet or a prophet came to
them but he was old so he could
not grasp the message so Allah gives them
a chance there and he tests them there
and if they pass the test they go
to Jannah if they fail they go to
the * fire so Allah says in surah
Hud ayat 25 وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ
إِنِّي لَكُنَّ نَذِيرٌ نُّبِيِّنَ Allah Akbar surely we
sent Noah to his people he said Noah
indeed I have sent to you with a
clear warning clear message from Allah what is
this clear message this is ayat 25 the
message is in the ayat to follow 26
Allah Akbar there is this thread running
from one ayah to another so Allah sent
Noah to his people and the message أَلَّا
تَعْبُدُوا إِلَّا اللَّهَ worship none but Allah that
you should worship none but Allah I truly
fear for you the torment of a painful
day so keep this in mind the prophets
of Allah came to invite their people to
actualize the unity of ibadah tawhid uluhiyah so
all of them are asking their people to
worship Allah to worship Allah because
humanity at large and the fitrah everyone knows
God is one God is the creator everyone
knows that but the problem mankind humanity deviated
and drifted from worshiping him alone so they
associated others with him that's why the messengers
were sent to remind their people that he
should be singled out and your acts of
worship should be only offered to him and
him only this is very important the messengers
and prophets that did not come to find
the people to believe that Allah is their
creator people they know that but they came
to remind them that they should not associate
partner with that creator and they believe in
one creator necessitates and entails that he should
be worshipped alone without associating any partner with
him so you see ayah number 26 after
25 what did what was the message what
did Nuh say to his people Allah Allah
Allah Allah okay
that you should worship none but Allah and
then Allah the mercy in the heart of
Nuh the he is so worried he fears
that something will happen to his people that's
why he called his people day and night
950 years day and night night and day
and only few accepted his message then he
is telling his people they want you to
imagine when he was giving the da'wah
and when they see him and they put
and they thrust their index fingers into their
ear oh Nuh is coming we don't want
to see him cover your face we don't
want to hear him thrust your finger into
your ear and he is telling them I
fear for you I fear for you the
punishment the torment the chastisement of a painful
day the hellfire also Allah says in surah
Al-Ahqaf ayah 21 Al-Ahqaf is Hadramaut
and that were Hud and his people lived
lived in that area so Allah says in
عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ the same message is
repeated again and again by all the messengers
of Allah and remember the brother of Aad
when he warned his people who inhabited the
sand hill which is Al-Ahqaf there were
certainly warners before and after him saying worship
none but Allah I truly fear for you
the torment of a tremendous day so you
can see here all the prophets are calling
their people تَعْبُدُوا اللَّهُ تَعْبُدُوا توحيد العبادة unity
of worship all your أعمال all your deeds
دعاء صلاة زكاة حق everything to Allah you
don't ask the dead you don't offer your
sacrifices to the dead everything to Allah for
Allah وَذْكُرْ أَخَى عَاد and remember the brother
of Aad إِذْ أَنذَرَ قَوْمَهُ إِذْ means when
عندما when he warned his people in Al
-Ahqaf وَقَدْ خَلَتُ النُّذِرُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ
خَلْفِهِ النُّذِر is the plural form of نذير
which means warners that means messengers and prophets
came before him and after him so he
was preceded by prophets and followed by prophets
and all of them their message is one
أَلَّا تَعْبُدُ إِلَّا اللَّهِ عِبَادَة you see all
the messengers are calling to the Tawheed and
yet you find in our time many people
they treat the Tawheed lightly and they don't
give what it deserves they don't focus on
the Tawheed and they will tell you all
of the people are on the Tawheed when
there are thousands and thousands if not millions
are dying while committing shirk among the Muslims
أَلَّا تَعْبُدُ إِلَّا اللَّهِ so my advice for
all the da'is your role models are
Allah's prophets and messengers focus on the Tawheed
only through the Tawheed this Ummah will be
reformed because Allah reformed the Arabs and transformed
them from polytheist into monotheist the
Tawheed makes you shun shun all the false
deities the Tawheed liberates you and frees you
make you free from being attached to anyone
except the one who created you the Tawheed
strengthens your Iman and strengthens your heart because
if the heart is not connected with the
Creator and it is relying and connected to
other than the Creator that is shirk أَلَّا
تَعْبُدُ إِلَّا اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ
عَظِيمٍ أَلِيم عَظِيم أَلِيم عَظِيم because that is
the reality of that day painful and great,
tremendous إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ أَخَافُ
see the prophets their hearts were full of
rahmah kindness so they were afraid for their
people Allah
لَقُمْ يَنَا إِلَيْهِمْ غَيْبٌ to the people of
Madian Shuaib the same message he conveyed my
people worship Allah you have no other deity
to be deserve to be worshipped but Allah
the people of Salih Thamud he said my
people عبد الله worship Allah alone مَا لَقُمْ
يَنَا إِلَيْهِمْ غَيْبٌ you have no other Ilah
there is no other deity that deserve to
be worshipped you should worship except Allah وَإِلَىٰ
ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَالِحًا قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَبُلُوا اللَّهَ
مَا لَقُمْ يَنَا إِلَيْهِمْ غَيْبٌ Tawheed this is
the message of all the prophets and messengers
and they were sent for this only this
asking the people to worship Allah alone and
you hear some of the da'is or
some of the mashayikh okay who their knowledge
of the Tawheed is shallow they are focusing
only on Tawheed Rububiyyah Rububiyyah only as if
the messengers and prophets came for that only
the message of the prophets and messengers focusing
on Uluhiyyah because Rububiyyah is there by default
and because the people they are by default
they accept Rububiyyah which necessitates and entains that
they should worship only Allah yet their understanding
of the concept of singling out Allah with
our actions and worship Him alone was not
correct was blurred okay so they had to
be corrected and that's why Allah sent His
warners, the messengers so the messengers did not
come to focus on the unity and Tawheed
of Rububiyyah they came for the Uluhiyyah now
the types of the Tawheed there are three
aspects of it okay and all these three
are mentioned in Surah Al-Fatiha because many
you find many Sufis and those opponents to
the Tawheed and who are criticizing you are
Wahhabis and you have this bid'ah Tawheed
three times, where is this?
three times so listen and learn so
Surah Al-Fatiha mentioned all the categories of
the Tawheed because by now you should know
the meaning of Tawheed, singling out Allah believe
in His Oneness, believe in His Divine Names
and Attributes and also worshiping Him alone and
also the fourth type of the Tawheed is
related to the meaning of Muhammad Rasulullah that
means you follow the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
so three are related to La Ilaha Illa
Allah and one related to Muhammad Rasulullah Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam so Allah in Surah Al-Fatiha
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim beginning what is this?
in the Name of Allah must confessional, must
merciful Ar-Rahmanir Rahim, what was that?
Names of Allah so I begin
everything by the Name of Allah Subh'anaHu
Wa Ta-A'la and these are two
Names of Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A
'la Ar-Rahman and Ar-Rahim so you
have to believe in these two Names and
in their meanings and these two Names Ar
-Rahman and Ar-Rahim Ar-Rahman is this
form is Sighat Mubalighah which means the one
who is full of mercy and the ulama
they say Ar-Rahman the Rahmatul Wasi'ah
his mercy is unlimited encompasses everything Ar-Rahman
and because he is Ar-Rahman he encompasses
even the disbelievers the non-believers and he
is merciful and kind to them and that's
why he provides for them he provides for
them he gives them provision and sustenance though
they don't believe in him or they associate
others but he still is Ar-Rahman he
feeds them and Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A
'la he created hundred parts of the Rahmat
the mercy he created, made it hundred parts
he sent one hundredth to the earth and
because of this one hundredth we treat each
other kindly and show mercy towards each other
and because of this one hundredth the mare,
the horse, female horse lifts its hoof lest
not to step over its mane because of
this one hundredth and he kept ninety-nine
parts for the day of resurrection where he
will shower and give these different parts of
the Rahmat to the people there so Ar
-Rahman and Ar-Rahman this is this form
so it accommodates even the disbelievers Ar
-Rahman Dur-Rahmatul Wasi'ah one whose Rahma,
whose mercy is so vast it denotes the
vastness of Allah's mercy Ar-Rahim Dur-Rahmatul
Wasi'ah so Ar-Rahim here this is
a special type of Rahma not for everyone
for the believers this is in the Jannah,
in the Akhirah so this Bismillah Ar-Rahman
Ar-Rahim shows the names of Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala and these are the names
you have to believe that these are the
names of Allah and you have to believe
in the meaning of these names and the
meaning of the names are the attributes of
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala so you have
to believe that the Rahma is an attribute
of Allah the attribute of Allah is Ar
-Rahma because every name carries the meaning Ar
-Rahman, the one who owns the Rahma and
who is merciful and Ar-Rahim the same
thing so this Ayah okay because the Bismillah
is an Ayah is a proof of Tawheed
of the names and the attributes then Allah
says in the Ayah to follow Alhamdulillah Rabb
Rabb Al-Alamin this is Rabbubia Lordship so
all praise is for Allah the Rabb the
Rabb the Lord of the Alamin all the
worlds then the Ayah to follow Ar-Rahman
Ar-Rahim again names of Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala names and attributes because every name
carries within itself an attribute Maliki Yawm al
-Din master of the day of resurrection day
of rachne Maliki is the king is the
owner is the master again Rabbubia Lordship because
I have to believe that he is the
king is the owner is the master who
owns everything on that day Allah under Allah
only he owns us on that day Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala says when all his
creation in front of him limanil mulku liyawm
to whom today belongs the kingdom the kingdom
today belongs to whom Allah poses this question
this question he poses limanil mulku liyawm oh
these kings presidents okay everyone is
lowering his head even those
who call themselves Shahin Shah some they call
themselves Shahin Shah king of kings on that
day no one utter no one will utter
a word limanil mulku liyawm no answer the
answer comes from Allah himself lillahi alwahid alqahtaan
the kingdom belongs to Allah alwahid the one
alqahtaan the subduer subhanahu wa ta'ala maliki
yawm ad-deen again this ayah proofs of
the tawheed of hububiyah and sifat because he
is the one who owns us on that
day and surah al-fatihah my dear brothers
and sisters teaches us the manner also of
the dua you start the surah started by
praising Allah alhamdulillahi rabbil alameen so this is
how you start your dua praising Allah mentioning
his name mentioning his attributes then you ask
and you mention your need not immediately you
say oh Allah give me this oh Allah
that's not the etiquette of the dua see
the your dua comes now your request comes
after you praise him ihdina as-sirat al
-mustaqeem now you are asking Allah ihdina
so you are the one who guides us
as-sirat al-mustaqeem so I believe that
the one who guides this is a divine
act of Allah so he is the only
one who guides so I believe in that
ihdina as-sirat al-mustaqeem guide us and
show us the straight path question now when
we Muslims say ihdina as-sirat al-mustaqeem
what does that mean are we lost are
we lost we don't know the sirat so
we are asking Allah to show us the
sirat now ihdina as-sirat al-mustaqeem means
oh Allah keep us remain steadfast on this
straight path keep us remain steadfast on this
straight path then
the ayat comes sirat al-ladhina an'amta
alayhim ghayri al-maghdubi alayhim wa laqad liya
path of those you have blessed not those
you are displaced with or those who are
astray so here this ayah is mentioning
the fourth type of tawhid because you are
asking Allah to keep you on this astray
path and to save you from the path
of those who anchored and brought upon themselves
Allah's wrath and anger and to save you
also from the way of those who went
astray so you are asking Allah to remain
on the sirat and this is the sirat
of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam the way
singling out the foolishness the mutaba'ah that
you are following and treading on the path
your Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam taught you
and he is ahead of you leading you
and remember the hadith of the Prophet sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam when he drew a straight
line and then short lines on both sides
and he said this is my straight path
follow it and do not follow these short
cuts because they will lead you astray and
then he said this is siratullah al-mustaqim
this is the straight path of Allah these
are subal al-dalal the shortcuts these are
the ways of the misguidance and deception at
the entrance of each one of these short
cuts and branches is a shaytan calling to
the hellfire so the one who leads you
and who is ahead of you is the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that's why he
said I left you in a clear path
it's day and night are the same straight
clear path so all the categories of the
tawheed are mentioned in surat al-fatiha so
it is not something bid'ah innovation concocted
invented by the wahhabis and by the way
there is nothing called wahhabis this is just
a word invented by the enemies of the
tawheed and those who hate the da'wah
of Sheikh Mohammed Abdul Wahhab there is nothing
called wahhabis and the what Sheikh Mohammed Abdul
Wahhab called the people to is to worship
Allah alone that's it and this is what
we are going to know throughout his books
inshallah so there is nothing called wahhabism wahhabis
are here today the wahhabis what they mean
by that they mean the awal mashayikh bin
Baz bin Uthaymeen and their students these are
the wahhabis, albanis ibn Taymiyyah that's what they
mean but when you read
what those ulama are teaching they are asking
you to follow the prophet and the sahaba
the way of the salaf so those whom
they call them wahhabis they are the salafis
those who are following the way of the
salaf the way of the sahaba yes as
individuals no one is perfect human beings they
make mistakes but to say this is only
the wahhabis they say this that's not true
because what they are asking you, what they
are calling you is that is what is
upon what Ahmad was upon, what Shafi' was
upon, what Abu Haniba was upon upon and
all the scholars of the hadith the salaf
this is the aqid of the muslims, the
early muslims may Allah guide our ummah and
show them the straight path and keep them
remain on the straight path, ameen may Allah
keep us remain on this beautiful deen until
we meet Allah and find him pleased with
all of us ameen, may Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala forgive us our faults and mistakes
and ignorance and may Allah bless us with
the beneficial knowledge about his deeds, may Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala unite our ummah in
the haqq and unite our hearts in the
haqq and may Allah reward all of you
my dear brothers and sisters immensely for your
patience and attendance barakallahu feekum jazakumullahu khaira salamu
alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh ameen, wa alaikum
salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh jazakumullahu sheikh we
have received a few questions please let me
know what you have received one minute yes,
go ahead barakallahu feekum the first question, why
did they repeat the takbirat on each salat
at Mecca and Medina what do you mean?
the question is not clear when they say
Allahu Akbar after the Imam has said Allahu
Akbar the second voice this is the repeater
the one who repeats ok it was in
the past because this is when the people
had no microphones in the past, no microphones
so in order for the rose to hear
so someone who heard the takbir of the
Imam will say Allahu Akbar ok so a
few rose, they hear and the one those
behind, they don't so someone will also repeat
the takbir so that the takbir reaches and
the people they hear the takbir this was
in the past even in the circles of
the Hadith ok so this one who is
next to the Sheikh will say Hadathana so
only a few, those who are around heard
that the Sheikh said Hadathana another one said
Hadathana so that is the background but in
the presence of the microphones today, there is
no need actually, there is no need for
it next there is
no other questions Sheikh but the first question
I think they were asking why is it
still said in Makkah and Medina even though
they have the microphones yeah it's carried on
from the past so they didn't stop, so
they are continuing doing the same thing next
the next question what makes Imam Bukhari so
unique this question shows
that the question I don't know who is
Imam Bukhari Imam Bukhari is amazing amazing Allah
subhana wa ta'ala He chose the scholars
of Hadith to protect the Sunnah of the
Prophet Muhammad the personality of Imam Bukhari is
outstanding you know that when you read his
biography he lost his sight in the beginning
and he had pious mother and she was
always praying and Allah restored his sight Allah
blessed him with sharp memory he hears
the Hadith and memorizes it and his colleagues
are writing when the Sheikh is talking and
he is just listening so his colleagues or
friends will tell him oh Muhammad write and
the Sheikh will say leave Muhammad he knows
he is a student Muhammad is recording now
he will retrieve later on pious righteous
every Hadith you read now in Bukhari he
said about it I didn't write it down
until I pray two rakats before writing it
down he selected for us what he put
in his Sahih the Hadith from other Hadith
which are Sahih he didn't write all the
Hadith for us because his criteria Shatrul Bukhari
the criteria that he followed is very strict
if you read Sahih Bukhari sometimes you find
the title is a Hadith the title is
a Hadith so why did he make that
Hadith a title why he didn't put it
in the chapter because that Hadith which he
put as a title does not meet his
criteria for example the criteria of Imam
Bukhari he will not accept a Hadith from
anyone from two narrators even if they are
living in the same city or in the
same country unless and until the narrator says
I heard so and so he announces
that he met so and so and he
heard from him very strict condition of Imam
Bukhari Imam Muslim says no if they are
living at the same time or in the
same city then by default they must have
met and each other and heard from one
another if they are contemporary living at the
same time Imam Bukhari says no the narrator
has to express it and mention it so
the conditions of Imam Bukhari are very strict
so he finds the Hadith a title because
it's not meeting his criteria and you find
that Hadith in Sahih Muslim and other books
of Hadith Imam Bukhari his reputation travels ahead
of him all the people talking about Bukhari
so when he entered Baghdad the scholars of
Iraq they said okay we are going to
test Imam Bukhari so they chose 10
students and they gave each one 10 Hadith
so total 100 and they replaced the
Isnat of each Hadith okay the Hadith are
two types two parts the chain of narrators
so and so told us so and so
this is called Isnat the chain of narrators
then the mention what the Prophet said so
they removed the Isnat the chain of narrators
on this Hadith put it on this Hadith
and they did that with all the 100
Hadiths and now they students are going to
everyone memorize this 10 Hadith to Imam Bukhari
so the first one started and he mentioned
the 10 Hadith with the wrong Isnat Imam
Bukhari was saying I don't know this I
don't know this I don't know this the
scholars they said oh he discovered our trick
shallow minded ones they say who is this
Bukhari he doesn't know he doesn't know until
all the 10 students each one mentioned that
in a Hadith with the wrong Isnat and
he memorized them all with the wrong Isnat
memorized them all with the wrong Isnat and
then now he is correcting that he said
these 10 Hadith you mentioned they are not
correct they are wrong because this Isnat not
for this Hadith it is for this Hadith
and you put and he rearranged the Isnat
again and then he mentioned the Hadith the
100 with the correct Isnat this is Bukhari
if you want to know his uniqueness Allah
subhana wa ta'ala he chose those scholars
and those idiots who are talking about Sahih
Bukhari, Sahih Muslim they don't know the science
of Hadith Science of Hadith is more difficult
than the calculus that's why Allah protected this
Deen by this Ilm the science of Hadith
we are the only nation on the face
of the globe that has this science Isnat
scholars of Hadith today they have the Isnat
unbroken Isnat up to the Prophet Allah subhana
wa ta'ala tell me where on earth
you find something like this if we ask
any Rabbi among the Jews we want unbroken
chain of narrators from yourself up to Moses
can you?
we don't if we ask his Holiness the
Pope do you have unbroken chain up to
Christ they don't but the Muslims they do
so Allah protected the Quran and protected the
Sunnah I hope this is clear to all
of you next a follow up question what
is the major differences between the criterion of
Hadith collections for Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim
the major differences the major difference is Imam
Bukhari is asking for the Luqia meeting Imam
Muslim say no even if it is not
mentioned that explicitly that they met it is
enough that they were living at the same
time in the same area enough for me
Al Muasarah and Al Luqia next the questioner
wants to know what makes Ibn Hajar so
unique as well of course Ibn Hajar they
said Allah created Ibn Hajar to understand Bukhari
Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar those men they served
the Deen May Allah reward them immensely elevate
their status and gather us with them Allah
chose them Allah chose them those who critiqued
Bukhari because they didn't understand what Bukhari meant
Ibn Hajar comes and says no no no
you are wrong what he meant is this
and that he spent Ibn Hajar 40 years
40 years 40 years commenting and elaborating and
explaining Fathul Bari Fathul Bari 40 years when
they asked Imam Shawkani to explain Imam Shawkani
said there is a hadith of the Prophet
when he said there is no hijra after
the conquest of Mecca hijra is not now
obligatory from Mecca to Medina Mecca now is
the land of Muslims so Imam Shawkani quoted
this hadith and he said la hijrata ba'd
al fath and he meant Fathul Bari in
other words he said I cannot add anything
to Sahih Imam Bukhari after Fathul Bari he
cannot add anything yeah Ibn Hajar they said
as if he is created to understand the
classifications of Bukhari what Bukhari meant Subhanallah Allah
Subhanallah chose them to serve the sunnah of
his Prophet next next question I have relatives
that still use the ta'weez it's very
difficult to change their mindset as it's been
a practice used for many years in my
home country I recently saw my cousin brother
put a ta'weez pinned to his newborn
baby how would you advise them in this
matter of course the ta'weez or the
amulets talismans okay it's not correct it's not
sunnah the Prophet did that and this is
going to come in Kitab al Tawheed and
most of these amulets if you open them
you'll find squares and these are the ways
the magicians are using and even for the
sake of argument if it is just the
Quran verses from the Quran the Prophet didn't
do that he didn't do that for al
-Hasan and al-Husayn he was just reading
al-Hasan and al-Husayn the ma'awwadat
and when he saw the children of Ya
'far bin Abi Talib very weak he asked
why what's wrong with them he said this
is due to the evil eye so he
said seek the ruqya read ruqya on them
spiritual cure the ruqya he didn't say write
some verses and hang around their necks yes
they said Ibn Abbas used to do that
for the children but that was his jihad,
he's not the role model, he's not hujjah,
you have to understand this he's not an
authority that's not a proof, the proof is
what the Prophet did that's why the ulama
they are saying al-'alim yuhtajju lahu la bihi
kalam al-'alimi yuhtajju lahu la bihi if a
scholar said something that in itself is not
a proof and evidence, it is rather needs
an evidence to support it so if you
are saying Ibn Abbas did this Ibn Mas
'ud did the opposite, this is companion this
is companion Ibn Mas'ud saw his wife
wearing a string around her neck, he said
what is this she said this is string
you read on it and gave it to
me because they had eye ailment my eye
was always watering so what Ibn Mas'ud
did he cut that string that thread cut
it and he said you and the family
of Abdullah should be far away from the
shirk when he cut that thread her eyes
started immediately watering, he said this is shaytan,
so he put his hand on his wife's
eyes and he started reading and the eyes
stopped watering, shedding tears he said this is
shaytan and what Ibn Mas'ud did is
in total agreement complying with the prophet salallahu
alayhi wa sallam said and he said the
incantations amulet tells me and
bewitchment shirk they are shirk from the works
of the devil so just I share
with you my experience more than 30 years
when I was talking to my family my
tribe they used to have these beads around
the neck of the children and they sent
amulet of course I faced difficulties and
they gave me names etc I kept quiet
talking to them Alhamdulillah today you will not
find that disappeared I remembered one day I
found a bag full of this amulet came
to me, they cut them and sent it
to me and I had to destroy them
so textiles we have to educate the people
be patient and should be role model and
kind when you are talking to them because
I know in some places the brothers are
little bit tough on their family so they
will not listen to them and they are
already brainwashed by their Mashayikh and they say
only Wahabis are saying this so they will
not listen to you so you have to
change your technique and the way you approach
them and talk to them next the next
question so can we say that all Prophets
from Adam to Muhammad came with Tawheed Tawheed
was the same but the difference is the
rulings for example marriage etc the answer yes
the message of all the Prophets is the
I mentioned this many times the speech
two types the ikhbar aqidah they inform us
so regarding the ikhbar the aqidah all messengers
the same message the insha' the shari'ah
the do's and the don'ts and everyone has
his own law or shari'ah because the
shari'ah the do's and the don'ts and
the shari'ah addresses the problem of the
community the social issues okay and people's problems
they keep changing that's why the shari'ah
keeps changing okay and coming with the new
rules to accommodate the new problems whereas the
aqidah is the same throughout all the messengers
came with the same message that's what the
prophet said the prophets are brothers from
different mothers the deen is one and their
mothers are different mothers here means the laws
the shari'ah that's why there is abrogation
in the shari'ah but no naskh abrogation
in the aqidah which is the ikhbab and
that makes sense it's not logical that the
prophet comes and says there is jannah, there
is hellfire then another one comes and says
no no there is not jannah doesn't make
sense so there's no abrogation regarding the aqidah,
the abrogation regarding the laws because a new
law will come and the former the latter
will accommodate the former like for example to
make it simple to you the windows the
software the latest version it has the features
of the former one so if you have
fires in the format of that window the
new one can recognize it so the new
version of the window is will accommodate the
features of the previous one and it has
more new features to meet your requirement and
then the window will come after that with
the new features etc.
so the shari'ah is similar to that
a new shari'ah will come with the
new rules to address the new problems that
the previous law did not accommodate and did
not address i hope this is clear to
all of you next
the next question the hadith about three daughters
protection from the parents from their fire if
they do good with them what if the
parents cut one daughter off is that still
valid for the parents or do they have
to be good with all three and as
a side note they've said the parents are
not following islam correctly and they are accepting
wrong the hadith talks about this the hadith
is emphasizing upon the virtue and that if
Allah bless you with three daughters because you
have to keep in mind that the arabs
before islam considered they considered having daughters is
a disgrace okay and they used to bury
their daughters alive so islam came with the
opposite and said no if you have three
daughters this is protection from the hellfire so
that everyone will wish oh Allah give me
three daughters hmm Alhamdulillah Allah blessed me with
three Alhamdulillah okay and I hope that inshallah
there will be protection so this is to
to like and to love having daughters and
you bring them up islamically not only three
daughters no you have to bring them up
islamically get them married okay educate them you
have to understand the hadith and it is
full scope so if Allah bless you with
three daughters be grateful to Allah and try
your level best to bring them up islamically
now there is the question of saying the
parents they they what they did to one
of them they cut them off okay okay
so if they are wrong Allah subhana wa
ta'ala inshallah Allah will forgive them and
you should forgive them if they did something
and which is not correct and if they
were correct then you have to rectify yourself
the question okay and inshallah if the parents
are not okay practicing and the daughters are
practicing inshallah on the day of resurrection Allah
subhana wa ta'ala will forgive your parents
and will make your cause to for admitting
them to the jannah and saving them from
the fire this is left to Allah subhana
wa ta'ala and my advice for you
just make keep making dua for your parents
next the next question is there forgiveness from
shirk the answer yes if someone repents Allah
forgives him the shirk Allah says قُلْ يَعِبَادِ
Do not despair and lose hope مِن
رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ Do not despair of Allah's mercy
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذِّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا Verily Allah forgives
all the sins including the shirk إِنَّهُ هُوَ
الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ He is Allah subhana wa ta
'ala the most forgiving the most merciful so
if someone repents Allah accepts his tawq and
forgives him the shirk and the polytheistic act
he committed before next the next question if
a person says he will hurt a family
member and claims that no one not even
Allah can stop him essentially challenging Allah what
would be your advice I think this person
is not correct he is insane he is
insane because no one, no Muslim who is
insane would say these things what are you
challenging Allah even Allah cannot protect him, cannot
this is nonsense so to me the one
who says this is not, he is mad
not insane but this is kufr, this takes
someone out of Islam no one even Allah
can stop him Allah can the hand that
you want to hit with will paralyze it
what are you human being you see human
being is stupid we cannot function without Allah
I cannot breathe I cannot raise my hand
I cannot function la hawla wala quwwata illa
billah la hawla I cannot change from one
position to another, from one situation to another
and not strength except by Allah then you
dare to say even Allah this person he
knows what he is talking about this can
take him out of Islam this is kufr,
blasphemy but I doubt that when he said
such uttered such a statement he is he
was conscious and knowing what he was uttering
next the next question I agree that Sufis
are doing many things which is not in
the Quran and Sunnah in East Africa and
preaching so and so Wali will bring back
life to the death, life to the dead
people even they are using local languages without
reading any kitab so when this people has
spread like this, it was I don't know
what that word is and where was Ahlul
Sunnah, were the people growing up to this
magnitude May Allah guide them, what can we
say that Chinese proverb says don't curse the
darkness but light the candles this is wise
statement the Chinese they use don't curse the
darkness light the candle if we keep cursing
the darkness forever the darkness will remain but
we have to light the candle and we
need to educate the people we need to
educate the people, people are ignorant, they don't
know and this needs sabr, patience and needs
ilm knowledge and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
is the one who guides so my advice
for the questioner that we need to focus
on the ilm and da'wah and we
have to be kind when we are delivering
the da'wah and patience as well this
is how Ahlul Sunnah should be Shaykh al
-Islam ibn Taymiyyah rahim Allah mentioned one quality
of Ahlul Sunnah he said Ahlul Sunnah ya
'rifuna al-haqqa wa yarhamuna al-khalq the
people of Sunnah they know the truth and
they show mercy towards others their hearts are
full of rahma towards those who are ignorant
next this was the final question may Allah
bless you all for attending I'll hand it
back to the Shaykh to conclude the lesson
Barak Allah Fikum Wa Jazakum Allah Khairan Assalamu
Alaikum May Allah bless all of you may
Allah bless your family may Allah protect you
and protect your family and may Allah elevate
your status in this world and in Jannatul
Naeem May Allah keep us remain steadfast in
this beautiful Deen and may Allah bless us
with the beneficial and righteous deeds and may
Allah guide our Ummah to May Allah reward
all of you, my dear brothers and sisters,
immensely for your patience and attendance.
BarakAllahu feekum.
Jazakumullahu khaira.
Until we meet insha'Allah in the coming
session, I leave you in Allah's protection and
revenge.
And may Allah bless you all.
As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.
