AI: Summary ©
Are three reasons
why we commit sin.
That is the sin. If you are looking
around any woman in the street, you will
be suffering, man. You will be suffering because
of the sins they were drowned in the
flood.
The sins in Arabic are called,
and.
He commands the volcano erupt now. The volcano
will
erupt
because what is more important to you is
your lord.
Brothers and sisters in Islam.
The topic for today is about the effects
of sin.
And before we delve into the topic
and start elaborating
on the sins and the dreadful
sequences
of sins.
First of all,
I would like
to draw your attention
as human beings
who are living on this planet,
that God Almighty
who created us from nothing and brought us
into being.
He created us for one purpose and one
objective, and that is to be obedient
and true worshipers.
And he created
the everything around us,
all our surroundings
for the benefit of man.
If you just have a quick look around
you
and see your surroundings,
you will find
that you have plants around you. You have
animals,
and you have inanimate,
and you have human beings.
And if I ask you
to
arrange those these
4 components
ascendingly,
you will find that in animate comes first,
then the plant, then the animals, then human
beings on top.
And you'll find that an animator serving the
plant, serving the animal,
serving the human being. So everything is serving
you.
Allah made it to serve you,
and you should serve him
who created you.
But unfortunately,
man,
instead of serving the one who created him,
he started to serve and worship the one
below him.
Imagine the pyramid, the pyramid like this,
The base is in animate,
then the animals,
the plants, then animals, the human beings.
So at the top of the pyramid is
the human being,
and everything is serving him.
But unfortunately,
man lowered himself and started serving what is
below him.
And he forgot the one on top of
him
who created him and brought him into being.
And what is below you,
it is what is we call mother nature.
Mother nature is nothing more than
animals,
plants, and inanimate. That's mother nature.
And this mother nature did not create you.
The one who created you is the one
who made them to serve you.
Having said this,
we need
to know exactly our role in this life.
And the role in this life
is to worship the one who created us.
But man
went astray from the straight path.
And he started
disobeying his creator.
He started
to create
corruption
on this planet.
Though Allah
provided us with everything. And he said,
So eat and drink, all human beings,
of the sustenance
provided by Allah.
And do no evil, no mischief
on the face of the globe. But what
happened?
What did man do?
Man,
he thinks he understands.
Man thinks that he's smart
when he is not the reality.
Man is very weak.
His knowledge is limited,
yet he pretends that he knows.
Let us take view example.
Now countries all over the world
are spending 1,000,000,000 of dollars
to combat pollution,
environmental
pollution.
Who caused that pollution? Who caused it?
It's man who caused the pollution.
And later on he realized, now I am
destroying my environment.
In every discipline,
you will see that man
whenever he intervenes,
whenever he puts his hand,
he corrupts.
This nature
created an odor, in a state of balance.
Everything in a state of balance.
If I intervene,
then I create this odor.
In the field of agriculture, for instance,
people started using chemicals.
Later on, they realized that they are spoiling
the soil.
So this decided to stop using that.
Medicines.
Every medicine you take,
read the brochure
inside the box of the medicine. What do
you find inside?
You will never find any medicine
inside
without stating
side effects.
Any medicine,
side effects.
What does it mean side effects?
That this medicine might cause these things.
But now, there is a trend globally
towards herbal medicine, as you know. What I'm
trying to say that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
created everything in order. So just leave it
as it is. If you cannot enhance it,
leave it as it is.
Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala tells us about man.
He
This is in Surat Arum,
Surah 30, ayah 40. I want every Muslim
to reflect on this ayah.
Allah is saying facade,
corruption,
mischief,
appeared on land and sea, corruption everywhere.
Corruption on the land, corruption on the sea.
Why?
Because of the meat,
because of the word that the hands of
man,
the hands of human beings have earned.
That Allah may give them a taste of
some of their deeds, in order that they
may turn back from evil. What Allah is
saying, that
corruption caused by man,
and then man will start to suffer.
Man will be suffering
because of what he did.
And this is exactly what is happening.
Man is suffering
because of his own deeds.
Now we delve to our topic.
And before I delve to the
topic. The topic effects of sins.
What is a sin?
A sin
is anything you do
contrary
to what he wants you to
do. Anything
that is not in agreement,
anything that is not in line with what
the Creator wants, it is a sin.
So the broad of the sin is so
wide.
Anything
that he doesn't want us, the Creator, to
do and we do, that is a sin.
And this is the problem.
We don't follow logic even.
Any machine,
any device you buy,
you will find a small book called the
catalog.
And you follow the instructions in the catalog.
Right?
And you will go step by step.
If you want this machine to last for
long.
Similarly, the creator
provided us with a catalog,
with a book
that we have to follow it.
Set of instructions.
That if you follow this set of instructions,
this machinery,
complex machinery, will be functioning
properly.
And you will do what is is needed
of you.
The moment you
decide not to follow the instructions,
the creator who created you,
the manufacturer who made
this computer,
He tells you you do this, you follow
it
because you want to maintain this machine.
When it comes to you,
the the one who created you, the maker
is telling you don't do this
because this is going to affect this machine.
Affect it.
Don't drink alcohol
because alcohol is going to spoil you.
Spoil your body. Spoil your mind,
make you sick.
You say, no. I will drink alcohol.
He's telling you, don't commit fornication,
adultery.
Say, no. I will do it. Then you
will have all types of STD's, STDs,
and you will have AIDS, and you'll have
all sorts of evils.
Why? Because you are not following the instructions.
You are not following the moral code,
which the creator
said that you should do.
So the sin
is any
deed, any action you do
that is against the will of the creator.
That is a sin. And you have to
bear in mind, brothers and sisters,
that when the creator says something, it is
for your own benefit, not for his benefit.
He's not in need of us,
but we are in need of him.
It is for your own benefit.
When he tells you that look don't look
to any woman.
Actually,
that is for my own benefit.
Many of you are married. If you are
looking around any woman in the street, you
you look at her, you will be suffering,
man.
You will be suffering.
There are many beautiful women around,
and you cannot marry all the women of
the world.
So you are going to suffer at home.
Okay? And you are going to have marital
problem with your wife
because now you are comparing her to all
those beautiful women you have seen.
But the creator, he saved you from this
suffering by telling you, lower your gaze, don't
look.
That is a protection for you
and for me.
Allah is saying,
And tell the believing men
to lower their gaze and protect their private
parts.
And tell the believing woman
to lower their gaze and protect their private
part. Imagine,
a Muslim, when he sees a woman, he
he lowers his head. And the Muslim, when
she sees a man, she lowers her head.
What a beautiful community
and society we are going to have.
Pure society.
No evil.
The man lowers his head, and the woman
does the same thing. So the woman is
protected, and the man is protected as well.
Because the one who created us, he knows
our weakness.
But if we decide not to follow
what he says, then we have to bear
the consequences.
And he is severe in punishment,
Allah
And if you disobey him,
then
you
land in the * fire.
Since there are names of sins,
the sins in Arabic are called.
There are many names of the sins
being given in the Quran.
Among these names
Fusuk and Asyan, the Quran is saying. Allah
is saying,
So
Allah
he's saying that, but Allah has endeared. He
beautified
the iman in your hearts.
Allah beautified the iman in your hearts, and
has made it beautiful in your hearts, and
has made hateful to you.
And
And he made
the kufr, which everyone knows what's the meaning
of kufr,
and fusook,
which is wickedness, and
and Asyan,
rebellion.
So that is the name of the sin.
One of the names of the sins in
the Quran,
Khufr, Fusuk and Asyan.
Fusuk and Asyan
is one of the names of the sin.
Another name of the sin is Al Hawb,
Al Hawb. As Allah
said in his book.
Which means for this is indeed a great
sin. So the hope is also one of
the names of the sin. Among also the
names of the sins is
If you come across the word
that's also one of the names. It's a
sin.
As Allah is saying,
So we punish each one of for his
sin.
So them is also another name for the
sin in the Quran.
Another name is.
As Allah is saying.
Because of their sins,
they were drowned in the flood.
See. And are you listening?
Because of their sins, they were drowned in
the flood.
We'll talk about tsunami inshallah.
Because all these, what you call them
natural
events,
earthquakes, volcanoes, etcetera,
these things they don't happen by themselves.
These are soldiers of the almighty.
He commands them.
Do this.
Move now.
Swallow now.
He commands the earth, open and swallow, and
the earth will open and swallow.
He commands the volcano, erupt now, the volcano
will erupt.
So everything is under his control.
So
Allah is saying because of their sins they
were drowned.
Another name of the sin is a
as Allah
said.
Verily good deeds.
They wash away.
They say the sins. Also,
another name for this sin
is
is another name for this sin. As Allah
is
Say the things that my Lord has indeed
forbidden are shameful deeds.
Whether open or secret,
sins and trespasses against the the truth or
reason.
So
and isim
towards the end Allah said,
the sin and by the transgression. So isim
is another name. And another name is Al-'Otoo.
Why do we sins? I'm sure
many times we have promised
Allah Azawajal not to sin. Right?
How many times you made tawbah? Many times.
How many times you cried? Many times.
But then you went to square 1. True
or not?
Many times in Ramadan,
when the imam was making the punut and
the dua. And if you are in Makkah
behind shuraim or sudai's,
you are crying
many times.
You are crying and you are sincere.
And you promised Allah in the holy place
in Makkah
that not to do
it. But then you went back. So why
do we sin though we promised Allah not
to do it?
The reason any human being sins
that he forgets.
That's why Allah
tells us that we should keep reminding one
another. Right?
You remind me. I remind you.
You help me. I help you.
Imam Ibnuqayim Al Jawziyyah said in his book
Al Fawway. This is a beautiful book.
It needs to be translated into English.
He said,
sins, the zulub, the sins
can be traced back to the following reasons.
I want you to memorize them. Count on
your fingers, please.
He said, sins can be traced back to
the following reasons. There are three reasons
why we commit sins.
The first reason he said,
reliance upon other than Allah.
Our trust not in God
Almighty. So we rely
upon other than Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
And if you rely
upon other than Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, that
is shirk.
That is what?
Shirk.
Tawakkul, you should put your trust in Allah,
in him only.
Because he takes care.
If you rely upon any
anyone,
you are not going to succeed,
and you will be suffering.
For instance, if
you are trying
all the time to please your boss,
to please the boss,
And one day,
you found your boss angry.
If he's angry,
you start
to shiver. Right?
Tremble. You are afraid.
Oh my God. My boss is angry today.
Maybe he's angry with me.
Right?
Because
your concern is always to make him happy,
to see him smiling all the time.
But unfortunately, that day,
he has a problem at home. His wife,
made him angry. He came to the office
angry as well.
And now you think,
you think he's angry with you.
He's not angry with you. He's angry with
his wife.
But because you are,
your mind
and
pleasing the boss is dominating you. So now
you think that he's angry with you.
So you are afraid. You don't know. I
didn't do anything to displease him. Why he's
angry?
But if you only think about how to
make Allah happy,
how to make Allah pleased, you will never
worry about anything.
Whether he's angry, whether he's smiling,
doesn't concern you.
Because what is more important to you is
your Lord.
I am making
Allah happy.
I do my job correctly. I don't care
about anything else.
I rely on him only.
Some people, for instance,
if I ask Muslims in particular,
ask any Muslim.
Who
is the razzak? Who is the provider?
Every Muslim will give this answer, Allah is
the razzak.
The second day he went to the office,
he found this letter terminating him.
Terminating him.
Firing him.
No job.
If in the heart that the razzab, the
provider is Allah,
razzak, the provider is Allah,
he will say Alhamdulillah.
Alhamdulillah.
Allah is the provider.
But if it is only from the lips,
he will go through blackout
for a while.
Blackout, he will never see for a while.
And then he start
to cry or to weep or to say,
what can I do? What should I do?
Where to go?
Where to go? To him.
You go to him.
You cry to him.
You raise your hands to him.
You ask him. You rely on him.
Who was taking care of you when you
were in your mother's womb 9 months?
The one who was taking care of you
9 months in your mother's womb, he will
take care of you.
You know, brothers and sisters, when we were
in our mother's womb, the only source for
our nutrition and food was the navel cord
through our mothers. And when we came into
this world, the midwife was waiting with the
scissors.
The moment she came out, that
code is cut.
That means the soles of your wrist has
been
blocked.
But was that the end? No. Instead of
1 source, now you have 2 sources.
Two * are waiting for you,
your mother's breast.
You see, instead of 1, now you have
2.
See your creator
who loves you,
and you carry on
drinking milk for 2 years,
then your mother stops you.
Is that the end? No.
For 2 years, you are only living on
milk. Now you can have milk. You can
have rice. You can have different uses. You
can have honey. You have many things.
The only time
your wrist will be severed and cut when?
When you die.
So sleep peacefully.
Don't worry about the wrist.
The risk is in Allah's hand, not in
the human's
hands.
Alhamdulillah.
And that's what Allah said.
Your risk is in the heaven, in the
sky,
and whatever is promised to you.
Allah is giving surety guarantees
to the doubters because many of us are
doubters.
They have doubts. So Allah
is saying,
by the Lord of the heavens and the
earth.
It is true
as you are uttering and pronouncing the words.
So the first thing that you make make
you sin
is the shirk
when you rely upon other than Allah.
That's reason 1. Reason number 2, when you
give in to the force of anger,
when you give in to the force of
anger,
when you are angry,
anger
is
destructive
force within us when we get angry.
And when a human being gets angry actually,
when he gets angry
he behaves like an animal.
I was reading a book by psychiatrist talking
about anger.
He said, if you want to see how
ugly you look when you are angry, when
you get angry, go and see your face
in the mirror.
When you get angry, go rush to the
mirror and see your face in the mirror,
and you will see how you look.
You look like an animal.
That's why the prophet
said, he said
to a man who came to him, he
said,
O Prophet of Allah, advise me. He said,
don't get angry,
don't get angry, don't get angry and the
yannah is yours.
3 times.
And he said, if you are stand you
get if you get angry while standing, sit
down.
And if you are sitting down lie.
Or take and pray turakas.
Ali radhiallahu anhu and Fatima radhiallahu anha, they
got
angry with one another. And Ali immediately he
left the house and he went to the
masjid. And the Prophet
came and he said, where is your husband?
He said, he left angrily.
The Prophet he went and he found him
in the masjid.
Ali prayed Turak Azadulullah and he slept in
the masjid.
The prophet went and he started tapping him
on his shoulder. Get up oh father of
dust because his cheek was in the dust,
Abu Turab.
And then Ali went back to home.
So when you get angry with your wife,
where do you go?
To the coffee shop?
You go to the Masiyat.
Don't go to another friend. He will tell
you, sit down, sit down, cool down.
What's the problem?
Life is *. I cannot stand it.
I can't stand her.
I said, cool down, brother. Cool down.
You know the solution for any woman? Marry
another one.
This is the advice he gives you. Marry
another one, which will make your life more
miserable.
Okay,
will make your life more miserable.
That will not solve your problem.
The problem that don't get angry, that's the
solution.
Don't listen to the Shaytan.
We receive calls from the Muslims, Sheikh,
I divorce my wife.
Why?
You know, Sheikh, I was angry.
See, he was angry.
99.9
of the divorce
happened when people are angry.
You never find a couple that divorced 1,
and a man divorced his wife when they
were sipping the tea. Never. But when they
were angry. So if you give in to
the into to the force of anger,
if you surrender to this force of anger,
then you will commit a sin.
You beat someone. The Prophet said, if you
are standing,
right? Sit down.
I'm sure many of you
have seen when 2 people are angry, the
first thing they do they
they stand up.
Right?
That's how.
They stand up. They don't sit down. The
prophet says, sit down. Cool down.
No. No. They
stand.
The prophet said,
when you are angry, say,
that will cool you down.
When 2 people are fighting and you come
to them and say,
What do you think? They say it or
they refuse to say it? Tell me.
When they are angry, you tell them, please
say
They carry on quarreling
because they don't want to say it. The
moment they say
they cool down. So this is the second
thing. And because of anger, many people are
in the jails.
They killed someone.
You know, you left home peacefully in the
morning driving,
and then someone jumped in front of you.
So you got very angry
and you insulted him and you shouted at
him, and he stopped his car and he
came out, started fighting one another. He pulled
out the knife and he stabbed you and
he killed you.
Because of what?
Anger.
Had you remember the hadith of the prophet
salallahu alaihi wa sallam? And Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala is saying,
And the servants of the merciful.
IbadulRahman.
When the fools
talk to them they say peace peace
salaam.
I'm sorry. He's wrong. I say I apologize.
We don't come down to the level of
the fools
because we are not fools. The moment you
come down to the level of the fool,
you become a fool.
One wise man,
they asked him, how did you become wise
man? He said because of the fools. The
fools made me wise.
The fools made me wise. They said how?
He said, if I see a foolish man
doing something foolish, I say to myself, oh,
this is a bad habit. I should not
have it. So and I'm living in an
ocean of fools, he said.
So quickly, I became wise man. Or this
guy is having bad habit. I should not
have it. This guy having bad habit. I
should not have it.
That's how I became a wise man.
So don't give up to the force of
anger. That is reason number 2.
The third reason why people commit sins
is surrendering to one's desire.
You know, brothers and sisters,
there are 2 gates
via which the Shaytan
accesses this heart.
There are 2 ways the Shaytan reaches your
heart.
One gate
is the desires,
lusts.
The other door or gate
is
doubts.
If you lock these 2 gates,
the shaitan cannot reach your heart.
So you keep these 2 gates closed all
the time.
The gate of desires are lost, keep it
locked.
How?
You know how?
Shaitan tells you,
look at this beautiful woman.
Say, no. No. No. No. No. No.
I will not
because there is another woman there in the
jannah. Sisters, no jealousy, please.
So when the shaitan tells you, look to
this beautiful woman, say to yourself,
there is a beautiful woman there in the
jannah, my wife there in the jannah, she
is more beautiful than this one,
right?
Huriyah.
You know the prophet
he described the huriyah.
He described 1.
He said, if 1 huriyah
comes to,
looks to the people on
earth, he said, if one Sharia removed her
Buddha, you know the Buddha?
The this the niqab,
the face covering. If she just removed it,
the prophet said
between the east and the west will be
illuminated.
East and west will be illuminated.
If he spits into the water of the
ocean, it will become potable water,
drinkable water,
but just spitting.
The Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam is saying, a
houriah
will be wearing 70 dresses,
and you will be able to see her
born marrow.
See?
This is there in the jannah.
So because Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells, if
the shaitan tells you drink alcohol, drink kamal,
say no no no no no no no.
If I drink kamal I will not drink
kamal over there.
There is kamal in the Jannah,
rivers of wine
rivers of wine in the Jannah.
When you sip them, they are very enjoyable,
very delicious.
Not like the liquor and the kamal in
this dunya. When you drink it, you become
unconscious,
and you start throwing out, and you start,
yeah, doing funny things.
So always brothers and sisters, bear in mind
when Allah tells you don't do this because
there is something better there.
This how you overcome the desires
and the lusts and lower your gaze.
Don't watch television.
Many of you, they would say this. How
can we live without television?
I will ask you a simple question, brothers
and sisters.
Having television at home,
does it bring you closer to Allah?
Please answer me frankly.
Do you feel your iman increases by having
television at home?
Your iman increases?
Does the television help you to bring up
your children?
Does the television teach morality to your children?
So why are you keeping it?
When it is destroying you, when it is
destroying your family.
Destroying you, destroying your family.
So that is how you lock the door
of the lust and the desires.
The other door is the door of doubts
and how I can lock this door, close
it?
By learning the deen, by the elm,
by the elm, the knowledge.
You learn the deen.
You allocate at least 2 hours a day
to learn your deen.
Many of us,
they got degrees
in secular sciences,
but the deen they don't know anything about
it, Muslims.
Then
a non Muslim would come to this Muslim
and puts doubts in his mind,
and then he comes
how to answer this, how to refute this
because he doesn't have the ilm.
Otherwise he would be able to defend Islam
and to give the correct answer.
So these are the three reasons. What are
they?
Reliance
upon other than Allah,
giving in to anger and surrender to the
desires.
And that is exactly what Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala
summarized
in the book in one eye. He summarized
that. He says,
They don't call upon Allah another ilah.
They rely upon Allah
because that is tawhid.
Second thing
and they don't kill innocent souls
except in the justified way.
And people when they kill one another when
they are angry,
anger cause you to kill.
And thirdly,
and
they do not fornicate, they do not commit
fornication,
which is the desire.
So these are the 3 root causes of
sins. 3 things
and the way the Shaytan
can make you to commit the sin is
either through the shahawat,
lust and desires, or through the shahawat,
doubts.
And the remedy for the shahawat, what?
What's the remedy for the desires?
Fear of Allah. And the remedy for the
doubts, what?
The knowledge itself.
Now,
having said this brothers and sisters,
the sins
Muslim scholars
have categorized
sins into 2 compartments.
Sins have been classified
into 2 categories.
Kaba'er and sara'er.
Have you heard these words before?
Major sins and minor sins.
Major sins and minor
sins.
These are the 2 types of sins.
Kaba'il and sara'il,
major sins and minor sins.
How
to differentiate
between these types of 2 types of
sins. The major sin
major sin
is any sin that has
a prescribed
punishment in Islam.
Any sin that has a known known punishment
in Islam, it's called murder sin.
Like
fornication,
like killing someone,
like drinking alcohol.
There are known punishment in Islam, known penalties.
So there are major sins.
Is this clear to you?
Also,
this is
one
sign
by which you can differentiate between major and
minor.
Another thing the Quran or the hadith negates
the iman.
Negates iman.
For instance, the prophet
says,
He's not a mu'min
believer.
He's not a believer. He's not a believer
the one
who hurts
or annoys
or disturbs his neighbor.
Or the one whose neighbor is not safe
from his injury,
or his evil.
So now,
disturbing one's neighbor,
whether he's a Christian, or Muslim, or Hindu,
whatever,
is a major sin.
Disturbing the neighbor is a major sin in
Islam.
Because the neighbor
has many rights on you,
even if he's not a Muslim.
Not only this in Islam. See Islam.
Islam tells the Muslims
that when you
buy gifts for your children, you buy gifts
for the children of your neighbor. You know
this?
This what the
Prophet said, If you buy gifts for your
children, you buy gifts for the children of
your neighbor.
Even if he's not a Muslim.
And if you cannot
afford that, that, you should not let your
children come out and play with their toys
outside.
You tell your children you play with the
toys inside.
Because if the children take their toys outside,
the children of your neighbor will start to
cry,
will start to cry. And then they come
to their dad, and they want him to
buy gifts for them. And he cannot do
that. So you are also
bothering, and annoying, and disturbing your neighbor.
Also among these signs, how to know that
this sin is a major sin.
The second sign if they the prophet
is denying the imam. Say he's not a
mumin, he's not a believer.
Or if there is a curse,
You know the word
If Allah
is cursing someone,
that is also a murder sin.
For instance,
the prophet
is saying,
Allah's curse upon those who
block their eyebrows. You know, the woman, they
block their eyebrows.
So blocking the the eyebrows
is a major sin
because the one who does that
you know, blocking the eyebrows, women they know
that.
Okay. It's a major sin because Allah cursed
her, the one who does that.
Also, if prophet
says
that the one who does this thing, he's
not from us.
Like he said,
He who cheats us is not from us.
So cheating is what?
Major? Major sin.
It's a major sin.
So now we have major sin and we
have minor
sins. The major sins
Allah will not forgive them.
Unless you make a sincere tawba.
Sincere
tawba.
And you say, oh Allah, I am quitting.
I'm leaving it.
I will give up this. I will not
do it again.
Then Allah will forgive you that major sin.
But the minor sin,
they will be forgiven
by default.
Like now we are going to pray,
inshallah.
So the the prayer washes the minor sins.
The salah
washes away the minor sins.
Because we know
when we came here
by mistake, we saw something here, something that,
you know, in the newspaper, you see something.
So these minor sins will be washed away
by the salah.
And the wudu, you know the wudu, the
wudu itself.
When you take the wudu, the problem that
many of us when we take the wudu,
there is no niyya, there is no intention.
We just carry
the making wudu just like that by default,
like a like a robot.
But when we take wudu, you should have
in mind, prepare yourself
that now I'm taking wudu to pray, to
stand in front of Allah.
When you wash your hands,
your sins fall apart.
When you wash your face, all the sins
that you you saw during your day
comes out.
When you wash your right hand, the sins
they fall apart.
The left hand with the water they come
out. The sins they come out.
By the time you finish the wudu, all
your sins are washed away.
Yes, by the wudu. This is rahmah from
Allah.
This is the mercy from Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
So that is
So minor sins, they will be forgiven
by the salah, by the istighfar,
etcetera.
And like the Ashura,
fasting Ashura,
fasting the day of Arafah. These they forgive
and expiate
minor sins, not major sins.
Major sins you have to make sincere tawba.
Now,
what are
the fruits
of committing sins?
If a person is committing sin,
what does he gain?
He gains the following.
He gains
deprivation
of provision.
Allah
doesn't give him risk
or his risk is reduced because of his
sin.
Because of his sin,
the barakah goes. Barakah.
Have you do you know the word barakah?
Blessing? Barakah is not there.
People in the past,
they were good people. There was barakah,
a small
one acre of land
gives
many folds
of many acres of today. Old people, they
know this.
The barakah now has been removed.
The barakah has been gone.
So Allah removes the barakah from your life.
Barakah from your time.
Barakah from your children.
Your children are giving you tough time.
You have a lot of money. You bring
private tutors for everyone.
Yet at the end of the year, fail,
fail, fail, fail.
They have private tutors,
but they are failing.
And the poor
fellow living in a hut,
his child is distinction distinction.
A plus A plus. Right?
So Allah
removes the barakah.
So that is number 1.
And this is exactly what the prophet
said.
Verily a slave will be deprived of this
provision because of his sins.
Second thing that you will feel, if you
are committing haram, if you are doing the
sins,
you feel your chest is getting narrow.
You feel
depression.
Depression.
You don't know what to do. You are
depressed.
And you want to feel happy. You can't.
This depression
because of your sins.
Because that is what Allah said.
He who turns away from my path, from
my way, is going to have a miserable
life.
Miserable life.
Also,
among the
evil
outcomes of committing sins
that
you feel
wherever you go, No tawfir, you know, the
word tawfir?
No help,
no assistance from Allah.
Anywhere you go, you apply for this job.
Sorry.
This job. Sorry.
And then you start to ask why? Ask
yourself.
Ask yourself.
Are you obeying him or disobeying him?
You are disobeying him and you want him
to help you,
to facilitate, and to make things
easy for you. No. He gives you tough
time
to wake up,
in order that you might turn to Him.
Turn to Allah.
Turn to Allah. Everything,
brothers and sisters, is in Allah's hand. Everything.
Everything.
There is a sheikh in Medina,
Sheikh Shankiti.
A young man came to him and said,
Sheikh,
do you know anyone?
I'm looking for a job.
He said, yes, I know one. He said,
who's that?
You know, he was expecting him to tell
him, I know friends so and so, Amir
so and so.
The Sheikh said, I know Allah.
Allah, everyone knows.
He told him, listen.
Ask Allah.
Have you asked him
sincerely
from the bottom of your heart? Have you
cried?
How many times many people, many Muslims, I'm
talking about Muslims.
Many Muslims, they have problems for instance.
He doesn't know how to solve it. Right?
So the whole night he's awake
smoking.
The ashtray is full
walking.
He did his eyes are
red.
He can't sleep.
It is akhir very easy.
Go take wudu.
Pray to him,
cry to him,
and he will help you. The segregate will
not solve your problem.
Call to him call him.
Turn to him, to Allah.
So this man,
he stood up at night and he prayed.
The next day he went
and he was driving his car.
He said, I had feeling
that I have to apply in this department
for for vacant job. He went to his
side. He said, do you have any job?
He said, we have 2 vacancies.
We have 2 vacant jobs,
and we are looking for someone like you.
He went back to the sheikh. He said,
I got it.
I told
you, ask him.
Anything you want, ask Allah
Also brothers and sisters, the sins, the dunub,
they weaken the heart.
They make the heart
weak. If you are a sinner, soon you
will break down. Anything happens to you, you
break down.
Even sometimes people, they commit suicide.
Why they commit suicide?
Because the problem is too big for them,
too much. They cannot handle it
because their hearts are weak.
But the mum says, Alhamdulillah.
Alhamdulillah.
Don't you know, brothers and sisters,
that one of the sahabiyat,
this is for the sisters. We want sisters
like this
sahabiyyah,
al kansa.
Al kansa,
4 children, 4 of her children
died in the battle of, Padishiyyah.
And when the news reach her, she said,
Alhamdulillah.
Actually, she told them before they left for
the battlefield,
My sons,
goodbye.
We will not meet except in the Jannah.
Only in the Jannah we meet.
And when the news reach her, she said,
Alhamdulillah,
this is an honor for me.
The iman.
The iman
makes the heart very strong.
There is a brother from Pakistan,
and this happened in Saudi Arabia, accident.
He was his family all his family, they
were in front of him in one car,
and he was driving behind them in another
car.
And the car
that,
you
know, carries Hajj, his his family
went under
loading
and crushed.
And all of them died on the spot.
All of them.
The whole family in one go like that.
Like, yes, what happened to in the now
with tsunami.
All the family just
like that. You will not believe what he
did. He pulled over
to the side way, and he made suyood.
He made suyood to Allah.
This is the test for me, so help
me, oh Allah.
So the imam
gives a lot of strength to the heart.
Take another Sahabiya.
This is to boost the morale of the
sisters.
This is Ummusulayl.
Her son
was sick, and her husband went to pray
Isha.
And when he came back
during his absence that the child died,
her husband came back, she didn't tell him.
He said, how's the child? He said, very
calm, very calm.
He's dead. She covered the child.
Then she gave food to her husband.
She served the dinner,
and he had his dinner.
And then he slept with his wife.
He slept with her.
After that, she told him, oh, father of
so and so,
what do you
think if our neighbors give us a yachtsenil,
a blade, a dish?
Then they said, give us back our yachtsenil.
What should we do?
He said, we have to give them their
yachtsenil.
He said, the one who gave us the
child took it.
The one who gave us the child took
it. Allah gave it to us and he
took it.
He said,
Why didn't you tell me?
You waited until I had my dinner and
I slept with you.
She kept quiet.
In the fajr prayer,
he told the prophet
what happened. And the prophet
asked him,
Did you sleep with one another? He said,
Yes. The prophet raised
his hands and he said,
Allah O Allah, made the night a blessed
night. And she conceived from that
night.
Allah
took one child and give them another child.
This is the iman. The iman strengthens the
heart.
But the sin
makes the heart very weak.
Very weak. The sin also,
the them, the sins,
they make the person lack interest. He doesn't
have any interest in doing Ibadah.
Even when he comes to the salah,
he's dragging his feet, you
know. Lazy.
And he said,
This is how he sleeps.
No interest.
You ask him, What did the imam read
in the salah? Akhi, I don't know. I
don't remember.
So that's how he comes to the salah.
Why? Because of his sins. Because of the
dhunub.
The salah, the salah.
You stand in front of Allah
You communicate with Allah.
The prophet
is saying that,
Consider this is your Allah salah.
That is because of your zanub. Also,
the sin brothers and sisters,
the sin breeds another sin.
You start smoking only.
I'm talking to the younger sisters. You start
just by trying a cigarette.
Do you think it will stop there? Never.
It will take you to the marijuana,
to the opium,
to all types of drugs.
But you started just by the cigarette.
So the sin haram takes you to another
haram.
You try this, then you move to another
sin.
So a sin leads to another sin.
And the shaitan will never leave you.
He will leave you only
in one case.
If you become
a disbeliever.
If you leave Islam.
If you leave Islam, the shaitan will leave
you. Otherwise, the shaitan
will be with you
till the last minute of your life.
The shaitan is there waiting for you
from day 1 when you came into this
dunya.
And he will not leave you
till you die. Even when you are dying,
he's there
trying to tell you
to say something to displease Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala. Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal
When he was dying,
when he was dying,
his son was telling him, Oh father,
say.
Imam Ahmad was saying, Not yet. Not yet.
So the son got scared. He said, My
father, what is it?
I'm telling you, say.
Imam Ahmad, Imam of Ahl Sunnah.
And you are telling me I will not
say it?
He said, my son, the shaitan is at
my head. I can see the shaitan biting
his finger,
saying, O Ahmad, you escaped from me.
You escaped my grip.
And I'm telling him, Not yet.
I cannot be sure that I am
safe until I die.
So the shaitan throughout your life will be
with you.
So if you want the protection,
be in the company of Allah.
Allah will protect you. And may Allah protect
you. May Allah protect your children.
May Allah protect Muslim. And may Allah guide
every human being to the state path.
Ameen. Ameen.
