we are the year, the 10th year from
the Ba'ath of Rasulallah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
We have the Hijra and Ba'ath and
we have the Hijra of course.
The Ba'ath is the era before the
Hijra of Rasulallah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
And one thing you will notice as we
go further in Sirah, actually from the very
beginning, that there is a very important lesson
that Allah SWT taught us or teaches us.
That when you feel like you are disconnected
from all the means in this dunya, then
the Divine gives you the support.
You get the support from Allah SWT.
And throughout the whole entire Sirah you will
notice that.
And this is not just because the Prophet
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam, he was a prophet, he
was a messenger, he was supported by Jibreel
and Mikael and all of that, which is
understood.
A lot of people think like that, Shaykh,
you talk about a prophet, you talk about
a messenger.
So obviously the miracles are going to happen,
right?
The miracles are going to happen to the
prophets and messengers, but they might not happen
to us.
You never know.
Allah SWT might not give you the same
exact miracles, but the idea is still there.
The idea is that Allah SWT is in
control.
I always say that to people.
Allah is in control.
You know when you feel like you are
worried, you are concerned about any situation, always
put this in your mind, that Allah is
in control.
Can we say it?
Allah is.
The economy is going bad, there will be
a recession and Subhanallah you feel like, that's
going to be the end of the world.
Always say to yourself, Allah is in control.
Allah la ilaha illa huwa al hayyu al
qayyum.
So, Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he went
to At-Taif during Aam al-Huzn, when
he lost his uncle and his Sayyida Khadija
radiallahu anha, he went to At-Taif and
we spoke about this last time, and we
knew what happened to Rasulallah Sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam, and also we knew, we've talked about
the Al-Munajah, Allahumma inni ashku ilayka da
'afa quwati wa qilla tahilati wa hawwani ala
al-nas.
So, to you and I, it seems like
the journey to At-Taif was not really
productive.
Right?
It was not productive.
The Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam didn't benefit
anything from it.
But in reality, there were a lot of
things, Subhanallah, to be taught, and there were
a lot of things that we learned from
it, and we will continue learning from Hadith
At-Taif.
So Rasulallah Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he was
hoping to bring more people to Islam, and
as I said, he was very strategic.
He did not choose Taif randomly.
It's not like, yalla, this morning, wake up
and let's go to Taif.
It wasn't like that.
He knew the fabric and demographics of the
society over there.
The Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was planning
everything.
That is one thing I personally learned from
Sirah.
Nothing was random.
Okay?
Nothing was random.
Everything was planned.
So, Nabi Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam goes, and
the situation is really bad, he was hurt
emotionally, he was hurt physically, it just didn't
go well.
The Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had to
sit and just relax, and it says to
Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la that
the means on earth are being cut off,
but ya Allah, I know that you're there.
So, while he was sitting, we know that
there was a boy, Addas, and also we
mentioned that Addas was a Christian young boy,
when he saw the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam, he heard from the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam, and he actually accepted Islam.
So you have one person accepting Islam.
Alhamdulillah.
You gained something.
Alhamdulillah.
But that was it?
No.
Did you hear the verses I recited today?
I purposely interrupted the khatmah because of that.
Because the verses I recited today, they're very
relevant to the same situation.
Now, the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did
not have people convert Islam, as many people
as he was hoping for, right?
But then Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A
'la, he felt really down during that time,
yeah?
And all of us, when we hear about
Hajjat al-Ta'if, we feel bad for
the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
But then what?
The Divine said its word here.
Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la, he
sent a group of jinn.
See, the other world, don't be scared here
when we talk about jinn.
Because there are jinn like you and I,
they worship Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A
'la, they pray like us, and they're Muslims
also, alright?
Since, you know, nowadays the talk about the
jinn, I was invited the other day to
give a talk at one of the MSAs,
the UNT MSA, and it was about the
jinn.
And one of the things that I said
to the students over there, I said, when
you talk about the jinn, I want you
to realize that there are also Muslims like
you and I, alright?
They're good jinn also, alhamdulillah, they worship Allah
Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la, okay?
So Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la
sent a group of jinn to the Prophet
Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and this story was
mentioned in Surat al-Ahqaf.
Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la says,
وَإِذْ صَرَفْنَا إِلَيْكَ نَفَرًا مِّنَ الْجِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقُرْآنِ
You feel like, it seems like it's very
dark, it looks like it's very dark, nobody's
listening to you, people are not welcoming you,
people are mistreating you, people are humiliating you,
you're insignificant in their eyes, you have no
value in their eyes.
Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la says,
forget about these people, I will support you
with something else, Ya Muhammad Sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam, alright?
وَإِذْ صَرَفْنَا إِلَيْكَ نَفَرًا مِّنَ الْجِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقُرْآنِ
And remember, Ya Muhammad, when we sent a
group of jinn your way to listen to
the Qur'an, then upon hearing it, they
said to one another, listen quietly, and then
it was over, when it was over, they
returned to their fellow jinn as warners.
So the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he
recruited some jinn, subhanAllah, and that is the
divine support, it comes from Allah Subh'anaHu
Wa Ta-A'la.
Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la might
not send jinn to you and I, but
He can support us so many different ways,
you know?
Now, in history, Ya Khwani, and this is,
subhanAllah, very interesting.
In history, the Nasr of Allah Subh'anaHu
Wa Ta-A'la usually comes from a
place where we never anticipated or expected, right?
We are looking at, you know, their military
power, we're looking at, you know, their numbers,
we're looking at all of these things, but
then the Nasr comes from a different angle,
from a different way, how did this happen,
alright?
So many incidents in history like that.
And again, it doesn't mean that we sit
and wait for, you know, those things to
happen, but I'm just telling you that whether
you do your part or not, alright, Allah
Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la will support.
I mean, what I'm saying is, without you,
the Nasr of Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta
-A'la will come, but the most important
thing is, what did you do?
Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la will
ask this question.
What did you do?
Did you do your part?
And what is amazing about the Seerah of
the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam that it teaches
us that there are so many people who
did not witness the Nasr of Islam in
the beginning.
Sumaya, the first shaheedah of Islam, she died
before the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam migrated to
Medina, right?
She died from the very beginning.
Did she actually, did she see the Nasr
of Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la?
Did she see the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
going back to Mecca, right?
Did she see that?
No, but she did her part.
She said, no, I disapprove what is happening.
That's what she did.
Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la will
not bring her in the New Judgment and
say, Sumaya, why didn't you, you know, why
didn't you achieve victory?
Why?
He will not say that.
He'll say, why didn't you say no to
oppression?
All right?
And he will reward her for action.
So that is the most important thing.
Forget about what is going to happen next
year.
Forget about the next election.
Forget about all of that.
What did you do?
That's a question I'm asking myself and you
should ask yourself.
Don't worry about it.
Well, how long will it take, you know,
for the power to go down?
How long?
How long will it take the Roman Empire
to go down?
Remember in the beginning of the Sira?
The Roman Empire was there and it was
basically, it was the most powerful, you know,
nation on earth or civilization on earth for
1,000 years.
1,000 years.
Can you imagine that?
But what happened?
Huh?
It collapsed after that.
What happened to the Serbian Union?
What happened?
We just need to reach the end of
history.
But the most important thing is do your
part.
The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam did his part.
He went to At-Taif, okay?
He hid from them and he went to
At-Taif to tell people, la ilaha illallah,
I'm inviting you, la ilaha illallah, Muhammad Rasulallah,
and to help us and to stand against
oppression.
That's his job.
In alayka illal balagh.
That's your job.
Just convey the message.
Okay?
Fa qatil fee sabeelillahi la tukallafu illa nafsak.
Right?
So this is a very important message that
you and I should actually learn.
So he went to At-Taif.
He didn't stay in Mecca just to, you
know, to mourn and cry the death of
his wife and the death of his uncle
and all of that.
No, he did something.
He did something.
He's not working in Mecca.
I go somewhere else and I try.
And then the power of Allah Subh'anaHu
Wa Ta-A'la and the support of
Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la will
eventually come.
So he went there.
It didn't work well in the beginning, but
there were a lot of gains.
Alhamdulillah qabal alameen.
There were a lot of gains.
You have a Christian boy, accepted Islam, alhamdulillah,
and then Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A
'la supported you with jinn.
There are seven.
There are seven from the jinn.
They listened to the Quran.
Falamma hadaruhu qaloo ansitoo.
Falamma qud yawallaw ila qawmihim mundareen.
And I'm not going to go, you know,
to where the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam saw
them or not, that he talked to them.
But according to the historians, the Prophet Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam knew about the incident when Allah
Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la revealed this
ayat.
And then Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A
'la revealed surah al-jinn.
Qul oohiya alayya annahu istama'a nafarun minal
jinn.
Faqaloo inna sami'ana quranan ajaba.
The jinn, they listened to the Quran.
Their hearts, you know, became soft and immediately.
Falamma sami'auhu qaloo ansitoo.
Listen attentively.
Falamma qud yawallaw ila qawmihim mundareen.
They heard the message.
They believed in the message.
Immediately they went to convey the message.
Qaloo ya qawmana inna sami'ana.
O people, we heard, you know, scripture.
Quran comes or came after Musa.
Ya qawmana ajeebu da'i Allah.
Listen to the caller of Allah.
So Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la,
you can imagine now that Allah Subh'anaHu
Wa Ta-A'la revealed this ayat to
the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam.
After May, perhaps he felt that his journey
to Ataif wasn't productive.
But Allah Subh'anaHu Wa Ta-A'la,
you know, tells him that while you thought
it was not productive, while you thought that
people were not helping you, we were supporting
you in so many different other ways.
Right?
That the da'wah was even spread beyond
human beings, beyond mankind.
So brothers and sisters, again, the support might
not come to us in the same way
that jinn come.
Allahu a'lamu wa ma ya'lamu junooda
rabbika illa hu.
But the message that I want to leave
you with, inshallah, Rabbul Alamin, is do your
part.
Okay?
In alayka illal balaghu.
Innaka la tahdi man ahbabta, walakinna Allah yahdi
man yashaa.
Your job is to convey the message, to
do your part.
That's the most important thing, and that's what
we learn.
With that, we will come to the conclusion
of the 10th year from the Ba'athah
of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
There is actually another incident that is also
very important, happened during around the same time,
which is al-Israa wa al-Ma'raj.
We will spend a couple of sessions, inshallah,
in Hadithat al-Israa wa al-Ma'raj,
because it's also important, and there are a
lot of lessons to be learned, inshallah.
So I ask Allah subh'anaHu wa ta
-A'la to accept our amal and ask
Allah subh'anaHu wa ta-A'la to
give us victory.
Allahumma ameen.
Again, we keep on reminding the brothers, go
vote, inshallah, choose whoever you want, but this
is also a part of doing your job,
just doing your part, okay?
Go, check, you know, and do your due
diligence, study, you know, because if you still
have a question like, whom should I vote
for, then you didn't do your work yet.
Alhamdulillah, the brothers are, they're passing a lot
of lists in WhatsApp groups, I see them,
check it out, inshallah.
Don't just go blindly and, you know, I'm
just going to choose whoever comes, bismillah, right?
No, do your work, inshallah, but as the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam went to At
-Taif, all right, and let me use this
analogy, go, inshallah, and vote.
So when Allah subh'anaHu wa ta-A
'la asks you in the New Judgment, what
did you do?
You say, ya Allah, I tried, I thought
that person was the right, that was the
right candidate for that time.
I thought, Allahumma ameen.
Ya Allah subh'anaHu wa ta-A'la
grant us ease.
Ameen.
Jazakumullahu khayran.
BarakAllahu feekum.
Khamusab, where is Khamusab?
You mentioned there's chai or something?
I remember I announced that.
You have chai or something, brother Khamusab?
Okay, anyways, I was told there's chai and
coffee, so inshallah, grab something, inshallah, on your
way out.
Assalamu alaykum, brothers and sisters.
There's coffee and tea in the kitchen, if
you would like to get some.
And please don't forget, next weekend, next Sunday,
we will have our breakfast.
We'll be back to the normal schedule.
So bring something with you next weekend, inshallah.
Bring some food with you next Sunday.
Jazakumullahu khayran.
