Purification Of The Soul Series 04B – Purifying self is worship of Allah

Bismillah R Rahman r Rahim hamdulillah salat wa salam ala rasulillah ala alihi wa sahbihi wa meanwhile as salaam alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu Welcome back everybody just before the break we discussed the third principle of test gear. And that is that the bulk of this gear is the book of Allah subhanho wa Taala. And we discussed how it actually purifies us and that is by us pondering over it yet and allowing the lessons of the Quran to become part and parcel of us. That takes us to the fourth principle of this gear. The fourth principle of teskey essays My dear brothers and sisters, that to become purified, you need a guide.

But not just any guide, we need a guide, but not just any guide. And the guide that we need is Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam

because Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam was the best that we can ever find in terms of descale so he is the ultimate guide sallallahu alayhi wasallam. Now, why do we need Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam also as our guide Well, if you recall in earlier episodes, we said that Allah subhanho wa Taala or we discussed this whole concept of the calima and c'est la ilaha illa Allah and Muhammad Rasul Allah. And we spoke about how everything has implications it's not just terminology, it's not just words put together, you know, somebody becomes a Muslim, they say, La ilaha illAllah Muhammad Rasul Allah and that's it. Yes. It's very simple to say la ilaha illa. Allah Muhammad Rasul

Allah to say it, it doesn't take many breaths. It's not difficult to learn.

It's even soft on our tongue when the hell happened. But the implications My dear brothers and sisters are mighty, the implications are mighty. Why do I say that? Well, when we say la ilaha illa Allah, what are we saying? We are saying that there is no one worthy of worship besides one Allah, which highlights to us the first pillar of event, the first pillar of worship, which is to ensure our worship is only for Allah. It's only for Allah, we're not looking for any name from it. We're not looking for any fame from it. We're not looking for any worldly gain from it. It's not a matter of financial standing on material well being or growing our financial standing and material well

being. We only intend Allah subhanho wa Taala by what we do everything else if it comes they secondary matters. The focus is Allah subhanho wa Taala This is what La ilaha illa Allah means my dear brothers and sisters, easy or not?

I leave that for you to decide. Then we have Muhammad Rasul Allah, which is Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is His Messenger.

Is this just a group of words that have been put together? Absolutely not. It has implications. And the implication of Muhammad Rasul Allah is that if I intend only Allah in that which I do, then the only way which I have to Allah is via Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam This is what it means, right? Which means when I say Muhammad Rasulullah I have a long journey learning who Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam was, and I have a long, long journey learning what he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam taught us because I have testified and said, Muhammad Rasulullah basically you are saying, I have no way to Allah except via his messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam now, Allah subhanho wa

Taala tells us in his book in the third Jews towards the end of the third Jews call in kuntum. To him boon Allah. Ha. What factor be Rooney you become Allah. Welcome Zulu back home. Then you become Allah. Then Allah subhanho wa Taala will love them. And then Allah subhanho wa Taala will forgive them. And Allah

subhanho wa Taala and he says that Allah subhanho wa Taala is the most forgiving, the Most Merciful. So the fourth principle of test gear is we must follow or have a guide

in our journey, purifying ourselves, and not just any guide, but the king of this gear. And his name was Muhammad Ali Abdullah Saleh Allahu alayhi wa sallam for Allah subhanho wa Taala was his teacher, and nothing that he said to us was said from himself. Everything that he said was a revelation from Allah subhanho wa Taala. So

My dear brothers and sisters for tiberiu wala tapeta deal. This is very important. If you want to become purified, follow Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam. And do not innovate, do not come up with new methodologies of purifying yourself and say, This is me purifying myself, don't do that which Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and the earlier generations were not upon. It's a very important principle. Because, yes, there are some of us who have the vigor to become purified. But then we sort of innovate. Remember, purifying the self is the worship of Allah, and for the worship of Allah subhanho wa Taala. To be correct. two pillars have to be erected. The first pillar is a

house that is only for Allah. And the second pillar is Mutambara, that it's done according to the teaching of who our desires, know, our communities know, our culture know our country. No. So what's the second pillar that we worship Allah upon the way of Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in the Arabic language we say, la laughs and El metabo. These are the two pillars sincerity and following Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam. If somebody worships Allah, and says, You know what, I want to perform Muslim today as for a cat,

Is that wrong? Why should it be wrong? Salah is good. So God is good. record is good. The

invocation invocations that we recite in sujood, and Roku and so on and so forth, this is all good. And we're doing that which Allah subhanho wa Taala has told us to do in terms of saying Subhana Allah, Allah, Subhana, Allah, Allah and so on and so forth. So what can be wrong with this? I want to worship today praying Buhari best for Raka act. Is this correct? My dear brothers and sisters? The answer to that is no. Even if he says I did it for the sake of Allah. It's wrong. Why? Because the second pillar for any act of worship to be accepted, has not been erected, and that is following Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam understand my dear brothers and sisters, you know, I know we

have this vigor, and we have this excitement, and we charged and we really want to get things done. But understand my dear brothers and sisters, that our way to Allah is via Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam only Why? Because Allah deserves to be worshipped, how he wants to be worshipped. He is Allah subhanho wa Taala. And He created us how he wanted to create us, does he not have a right to be worshipped? How he wants to be worshipped? Absolutely right. Absolutely correct. He does have that right. Allah subhanho wa Taala.

So Allah subhanho wa Taala deserves to be worshipped, how he wants to be worshipped, how does he want to be worshipped? Or how do we know how he wants to be worshipped? Well, we know this from Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam. Why Because Allah taught him sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and commanded him to teach us sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in one of the warnings that are one of the things that Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was warned against was keeping anything a secret.

Which means what my dear brothers and sisters, which means if he didn't do it from Allah, Allah he was.

Which means if he didn't teach us a particular thing, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, then we're not supposed to do it. It wasn't that he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam for God to teach us. Well, he had the builder. And in reality, my dear brothers and sisters, if we try and innovate, and bring about practices not brought to us by him, sallallahu alayhi wasallam. When we say, Well, this is good. Then what are we saying? Are we saying that Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam for God to teach us a certain good. So please take heed of this, my dear brothers and sisters, please take heed of this purify yourself upon the method of the king of purification. And the king of purification was

he sallallahu alayhi wasallam we Allah subhanho wa Taala grant us that particular understanding. So the third principle is the Quran being the book of purification, and the fourth principle being that Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is the one who we should follow in our endeavor to become purified purification happens by following him and not by innovating and as I was called to say, Rama to law him that nobody innovates nobody innovates in religion, except that because of that innovation, as soon becomes dead, or becomes non existent and nobody revives us

except that they become further from innovation. So remember this My dear brothers and sisters, I know sometimes, you know, we become tested, we really become tested, how do we become tested, we become tested with the fact that Allah subhanho wa Taala sometimes causes the purification to occur when the practice of innovation happens this is a test from Allah subhanho wa Taala at May Allah subhana wa

Allah protect us from this, Allah subhanho wa Taala can test us that a person chooses to tread the path of innovation and they say, Look, I've become purified and become better. Right? And I'm not talking about self rajib and self glorification. But a person genuinely feels that the circumstance has improved, the Salah has become better, perhaps, right? Perhaps certain things have changed. But it doesn't mean that the end result was achieved, that the process of getting there becomes validated. Because remember, in our Sharia, there's a principle and that principle is the ends do not justify the means. The ends do not justify the means, right? We don't say a hired to better or

worse. This is not a concept in our Sharia. Where we say well do haram do that which is wrong, as long as the end is correct, then it's fine. Absolutely not my dear brothers and sisters. So yes, sometimes Allah will test us that the end that we wish to achieve, we achieve there has been an improvement but we use the wrong way of getting there. We use the wrong way of getting there. Allah subhanho wa Taala my testers with this Melba subhana wa Taala protect us. But guidance will always be that which conforms to evidence and evidence, my dear brothers and sisters is that which we find in the Quran and the Sunnah, and I think this is common sense. I think this is common sense. So my

dear brothers and sisters,

always tread the path of keeping common sense common. And you might have read this on my Facebook page or Twitter page and I do say this.

Sometimes, the statement of common sense normal becoming common or common sense isn't just common anymore. shed the path of keeping common sense common I think what I've said generally can resonate with anyone who listens to this particular discussion without any bias I think it will resonate because it's really balanced. It's really in the middle.

But allow me to qualify things My dear brothers and sisters before we end this episode, and that is to have wisdom when we wish to correct practices. If we see amidst our people, amidst our society, people who might be practicing innovation, do not

intend them and endeavor them in a way that goes against the Sunnah of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam and the character that Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam brought about where we become abusive, and we insult and we become harsh and so on and so forth. endeavor them based upon the sooner as well just as you want to purify yourself based on the Sunnah endeavor our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters as well based on the Sunnah Our job is to convey not to convert and you must remember this, my dear brothers and sisters, and Allah subhanho wa Taala, Allah has commanded us towards excellence in everything that we do. So the conveyance must be excellent as well. It

shouldn't be that we engage people that might have some innovation in terms of how they adopt the purification process, we engage them in a way that's counterproductive to our task, meaning we engage them in a way as if we better than them,

right? That is of taqwa and matters of Paradise and matters of who is better with Allah subhanho wa Taala. No one has a meter on their head, who Allah subhanho wa Taala has accepted a burden from and who Allah subhanho wa Taala hasn't what we have is the evidence and the apparent nature of people's practices, we should advise without feeling that we better because we will discuss this bit in the law as one of the principles of test here and that is to avoid this concept of self or job, self glorification. And this whole process of feeling that I am better I will leave you with these words to ponder over Sharla when we come together again, we will discuss the fifth principle of this gear
