For air conditioning.
You know, when the Muna fiqeen
when
they didn't
want to join the prophet
in the battle,
They said
don't go out in the heat.
Don't
go out in the heat.
Allah
says in the holy Quran, say, O Muhammad
Sallallahu
Alaihi Wasallam,
Indeed, the fire of Jahannam is hotter if
they only could understand.
So feeling these hot days as we have
been,
let us just remind ourselves
that Jahannam is much hotter.
In actual fact, Jahannam is
70 times, as it comes in the 1
rewire,
70 times hotter than the fire on the
dunya, not a hot summer's day,
Seventy times hotter than the fire
that burns on the dunya.
But I I
I
I I do as I'm also feeling the
heat,
I do empathize
with the jama'at,
and I can almost
hear your heart saying, imam kanala, keep it
short.
So insha Allahu Ta'ala,
let us, as we do every Friday,
say, ba'adahu billahi minash shaitanir Rajeem.
This is verse number number
3
of
Muhammad.
My velocity
reference point.
But as Allah says in this verse,
verse number 3 of chapter 35,
you can go look it up at home,
insha Allah
ta'ala. Verse number 3 of chapter 35,
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says, oh mankind.
Yeah. You are a nurse.
Uthkuru
niammatallahi
alaikum.
Call to mind
the favor
of Allah
on you.
Halmin Khaliqin Ghayrullah.
Is there any creator besides Allah?
He sustains you from the heavens.
He sends down the rain from the sky.
Wal art.
And after that
water has seeped into the earth
and
has
watered those seeds
and the lush vegetation has sprung forth,
There's none worthy of worship besides Him.
Then how can you still be deluded about
him?
How can you still be distracted from him?
How can you still allow your attention
to be diverted from him?
So today in continuation
of our topic, who can remember what was
the topic from last week?
One word.
One word.
Heedlessness.
In Arabic?
Indeed,
the account of man
has approached.
The hissab,
the judgment
of man is at hand.
The reality
of the last hour
is nigh.
Whumfiqraflatin,
while mankind
is heedless.
Ma'aridoon,
turning away,
ignoring the signs of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
And how many signs do we see in
front of us today? Allahu Akbar.
Allahu Akbar.
I will not come until you see the
Arabian Peninsula,
Murojan Wa Anhara,
green pastures
and flowing rivers.
Just go and do a little bit of
research, Allahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar.
Alhamdulillah for Google.
The benefits
thereof. To be able to access information and
knowledge.
Yes, it is a double edged sword. It
can be used for evil as well.
But just the fact because Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala, you know,
Allah uses people without even know that they've
been used.
Nobody knows the soldiers of Allah except him.
Nowadays, we want to find out anything about
our deen,
can just open a
I'm not saying I know there's other search
engines besides Google. I'm just
for the lack of a better example.
We have it at our fingertips. We have
no excuse.
Yes, we should always
double check and go and ask the learned
people,
Ask those who know if you don't know.
Go and verify.
Make sure that things are authentic.
Make sure that things comply with the aqidah
of ahusunawal jama'a.
That things fall within the correct understanding of
the Holy Quran and the sunnah of our
beloved prophet Khayil Anam, salawatulabius
salamu alayhi.
But the point is everything
and in fact, I would like to give
you some homework.
Take this as an exercise.
Go home and look up
all the signs
that are now prevalent,
All the minor signs
that Allah
has made as clear
as the sun in the middle of the
sky on a cloudless day.
And then know for sure
that the day of account is near, the
day of Qiyamah is closed. If the Prophet
sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, and we did
this a few months ago,
and I was
I have been sent
myself and the hour like these two fingers
like these two fingers.
The difference between me and the last hour
is the difference between these two fingers.
Now how close is the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wasallam saying that kiyama is to his being
sent as the last and final messenger of
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. And then the splitting
of the moon, which we also did in
that same khutbah.
And then today we see Moruj and Wa'anhara,
Arabian Peninsula,
the hottest place on earth
besides some parts of the Sahara.
In fact, the mountains of Makkah are green
at the moment.
Shia Abu Makkah, the mountains surrounding Makkah are
green.
And there are rivers flowing in the desert.
In fact, it was snowing in the desert
not too long ago.
And what else do we see?
It's raita makkita
buajat katha ima.
Bu'ajat
basically means to, like when you dig a
a well.
Buayjad kavahima.
If you see Makkah,
meaning the mountains of Makkah,
this is one interpretation.
If you see the mountains of Makkah
with holes
like wells
drilled through them
or dug through them.
There was no drilling apparatus in those days.
They used to dig the wells by hand.
But if you see the mountains of Makkah
with holes
piercing through them
in the one rewire,
then indeed
the hour has now cast a shadow.
And funny enough
funny enough, the word saa also means clock.
Then the clock has cast its shadow.
The big clock casting its shadow over the
Kaaba. Allahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar.
I'm sure you must have spoken to people
or even yourself.
Maybe you were lasting Makkah.
Maybe you just come back from Umrah now.
Lots of people were in Umrah,
in Makkah, for Umrah now in, December.
And maybe it's the first time you've been
in Makkah
in 10 years. You would have seen huge
changes.
20 years, you would have seen
massive changes.
30 years, you would have seen enormous changes.
I remember when I was a a student
in Medina in 1995,
there was only 2
hotels.
The rest were all Buyut.
There was Makarim Adjiat,
and there was the old Hilton,
and everything else was Buyut.
You know, the old,
Buyut Arabiya.
You see, I'm saying in a bait bait
fulan,
and how Makkah has changed since then.
And
some people are put off by the changes.
When I say put off,
it, like,
detracts from their
spiritual experience
of the journey to Allah in this life
in preparation
for our journey to Allah in the hereafter,
especially when they look at that
massive
Zamzam tower
with its,
laser light show after Maghrib,
then they think, you know, why did I
come here? What is this all about?
If we must understand
the sanctity of that place
and the greatness of that house, al Kaaba
al Musharraf
wallahi, they could build a 1,000,000 zam zam
towers, it would not distract
from the greatness of Allah's house, and from
the sanctity and the blessings
that Allah
has granted that place.
But these are some of the signs. What
are the other signs?
Again, Makkah.
Because the Aw will not come.
Until the mountains have been moved from their
places
With,
Jabal
Jabal Abul Qubais, it was gone long time
ago.
The king built his palace on it.
And now recently Jabal Qa'i Qa'an,
now they have the Jabal Umar project with
all those massive
hotels,
all the brand names,
yahudi brand names
on Jabal,
Kaikwan.
And then the most, one of the most
famous signs,
one of the most famous signs,
Bare footed shepherd boys.
Vying with one another
in the tolling of in the building of
tall buildings,
vying with one another in the building of
tall buildings.
Is this just a coincidence?
They hold,
Maktoum.
Maktoum, the emir of Dubai.
He built the,
what's it called again?
Burj Burj al Khalifa
Burj al Khalifa, the tallest
building in the world.
And now in Saudi Arabia,
Walid bin Palal,
I think in Jeddah, he's now
building 1 to be taller than Burj Khalifa.
And when you look at
who these people are, where they come from,
who were their ancestors?
They were shepherds.
They were shepherds, and nothing wrong with being
a shepherd.
The Prophet said, there was never a prophet
except that Allah
made him as a shepherd,
herding sheep
or the like
thereof. But this is the reality,
that yesterday
there were shepherds
herding sheep
and goat and camel,
and today, as the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam
predicted over 1400 years ago, they are vying
with one another,
making competition with one another in the building
of
of tall buildings, of skyscrapers.
Another
sign is that the hour will not come
until the Forat.
The Forat. The Forat nidigele.
Is the Euphrates,
Digile is the Tigris. That the
will
the water will go down, it will dry
up, and a treasure of gold will be
exposed.
Already the Euphrates has dried up in some
places,
in Iraq.
And the prophet said, sallallahu alaihi wasallam, if
that gold is exposed, don't go near there
and don't touch 1 ounce of that gold.
So
I'm just I'm just getting a few minor
signs. Pandemics,
another sign. We just had our coronavirus.
Sexual deviancy,
homosexuality,
and the like thereof.
LGBTQ
plus,
another sign.
Proliferating
at a frightening alarming pace
throughout the world, especially the western world,
shoving it down to people's throats.
Farwahesh
will come a time when people will literally
be
engaging
in
wal ayadubillah,
they will be engaging
in
promiscuity
open in the street.
I was reading an article about a Muslim
brother that,
came from an Arab country,
and he immigrated to Italy.
And one night he was walking in the
park, and in the open, there was a
couple, wal ayadubillah,
akramakumullah,
azaqumullah.
Very shortly after that, he packed his bags
and he went back to,
to the heat and the dust.
He thought to himself, let me rather,
you know, even if I must live in
poverty, but at least I die with Iman.
At least I die with Iman.
Muslimoon.
Allah it's the biggest fear for us living
here in this country. It's not a Muslim
country and we are surrounded with facade.
We are surrounded with promiscuity.
We are surrounded, and haram is so easy
to do.
The doors of haram have been flung wide
open for us. In actual fact, they are
like the revolving door that at century city.
You know the revolving door, the big one?
We have these revolving doors of Haram surrounding
us,
and we think, no,
because,
we
maybe grew up as Muslimen,
we went to madrasa, that we are safe,
our children are safe, and their children are
safe, and everything's hunky dory. No, it doesn't
work like that.
It doesn't work like that.
If we believe that then we are surely
in a ghaflah.
We are surely in a state of heedlessness
and carelessness.
So coming back to the first verse.
O mankind,
call to mind the favor of Allah anew.
Is there any creator besides Allah? He sustains
you from the heavens and the earth. There
is none worthy of worship besides Him. So
how can you be deluded about Him?
How can you be turned away from Him?
The answer is because
if that is happening,
if we are being deluded about Him, if
we are being turned away from Him, if
we are being distracted from Him,
if we are becoming
unmindful of Him, it means we're in a
ghafla.
It means we're in a state of heedlessness
and carelessness.
And we spoke about that last week, we
spoke about the ghafla.
What is the raflah?
But today I want to speak about the
ilaha jal raflah.
How do we get out of that raflah?
How do we wake up from our state
of heedlessness
and carelessness?
So the ulema, they say
in order for us
to treat this ailment of raflah, of heedlessness
and carelessness,
we first need to understand what are the
causes of it.
And then if we remove the causes of
heedlessness and carelessness,
then insha Allahu Ta'ala, we would have
treated this dawah
with the correct dawah. Da'un,
dawahun.
We would have treated this ailment, this illness
with the correct medicine, and we'll become cured.
So the first sabab
that
we need to look at is that of
being contented
with al dunya,
being contented.
And
there's 2 ways of looking at this.
You know, contentment, I'm not speaking about contentment
in terms of being satisfied with our portion
that Allah has put out for us,
that inshallah, we'll get to that.
I'm speaking about the fact that the person
that is just happy and contented with chasing
after the dunya,
that as long as they are receiving of
material wealth, they are happy.
As long as they are making money, they
are happy.
As long as they are climbing
the ladder of materialism
and the accumulation
of material wealth,
then
it's like they're already in Jannah.
And Allah speaks about this in the Holy
Quran, in Surat Yunus, verse number 7.
They're
They're not even thinking about the hereafter.
They're living in the dunya as if they're
gonna live forever.
That preoccupies them 247,
Pesa, Fouluz, Khhel, money.
Allah says, indeed those who don't hope for
our meeting.
And how many times a day do we
think about
dying
and meeting Allah?
The Prophet used to think at least 25
times a day.
He used to think about death at least
25
times a day. Why? Because
death is the door, like you know when
you go for an interview
and then you get,
first into the lobby downstairs, and you get
into the lift, and you maybe go to
the 99th floor,
and then,
you first go into one office, and then
they take you to another office. And then
right at the back, they take you to
the
the big bus.
I'm just waiting, you know, to get to
him, you have to pass through that door
for that interview.
Well, the only way that we can be
returned to Allah
is through the door of death through
the door of
of death.
He says the grave is a door
that everybody has to pass through. If only
I knew where I'm going to be tomorrow,
meaning in the hereafter.
He then says,
that abode in the hereafter will be one
of eternal bliss.
Just imagine that, eternal bliss.
If we do that which is pleasing to
Allah, but if not for now, then the
fire.
Umama halalani is only 2 places in the
year after.
There's no 3rd place for the servant of
Allah. So decide now while you're still alive
where you want to be in the year
after. Otherwise, you must be thinking about it.
All of my ummah, said the prophet will
enter paradise except those who don't want to
go to paradise.
Manaba You Rasoolullah, who doesn't want to go
to paradise? O Messenger Allah. He
said,
Whoever obeys Me, whoever follows Me,
Quran and Sunnah,
they will enter
Jannah.
And whoever doesn't, whoever disobeys Me, whoever turns
away from the remembrance of Allah
and following the sunnah of Rasulillah, hsalalahu alaihi
salallam, they don't want to go to Jannah.
Allah not makers of them, Amin. Humama halani.
There are 2 places, there's no third place
for the servant of Allah. So decide now,
while you're still alive, where you want to
be in the hereafter.
For the servant of Allah who believes in
Allah and works righteous deeds, there is no
place in the hereafter except janatul firdos.
And if they make a mistake,
if they make a mistake, meaning if they
become heedless.
What did we do? The hadith last week?
Shayatan
is perched on the heart of man.
Shayatan is perched.
He's crouching,
just waiting.
He's waiting for his gap.
These are the two attributes of shaitan,
the shaitan that's been assigned to us.
Idafaqarahallahu
khanasa.
If the believer remembers Allah, then the shaitan
withdraws.
He can't get away.
In. He can't get a gap in
to our hearts.
But if the believer becomes heedless,
if the believer becomes
careless,
just worrying about the dunya
and instant gratification
on the dunya
and accumulation
of wealth. In the dunya, was wasa, then
he whispers.
He gets his gap.
And when he gets his gap and he
whispers, and we allow that whisper into our
hearts
because he has no authority.
From a
in the hadith about fitan,
you know, tu'aradul fitan
This is exactly how it happens. The prophet
describes it, sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. He says
that evil temptation and invitation
is presented to the hearts
just like the weaving
of a straw basket. You know, you see
the people in the villages, they're making these
baskets.
They're weaving these
reeds together. They put it in between their
feet, and they turn it. And as they're
turning it between their feet, they interlock straw,
interlocking straw, straw interlocking straw. Now you can
imagine
our hearts being in the center,
And all of those reeds
are like the temptations and evil invitations
that are surrounding our hearts 24 hours a
day,
trying to find a way in.
But as long as we are conscious and
mindful of Allah, they'll never be able to
get in.
As soon as we become heedless and careless,
as soon as we are overtaken by our
ghafla,
that is when they get the opportunity
to present themselves to our hearts. And if
we fall prey to them in that state
of heedlessness and carelessness, then we allow that
temptation into our hearts. In other words, we
accept it.
We accept that invitation.
So Allah
reminds us in this verse in Surat Yunus,
Those that don't hope for our meeting, they're
not thinking about death, they're not thinking about
the akhirah, they're not thinking about jannah or
jahannam, they're not thinking about their meeting with
Allah.
How many times a day do we actually
look forward to meeting Allah? Doesn't mean that
we should desire death,
but we should think about our meeting with
Allah
in order that we should make prep of
it, that we should prepare and make provision
for that meeting.
What did Taqi ibn al Hasan al Basri
say in his 4th secret to happiness?
You know, he had 4 secrets, he said.
Let's do all 4 quickly.
Secret number 1, he said,
He said, I knew that my sustenance,
nobody could take it but me, so my
heart was satisfied.
Whatever's been put out for us,
nobody can take away from us. And whatever
has not been put out for us, nobody
can give to us.
Number 2,
and I knew that my good deeds, nobody
was gonna perform them for me, so I
busied myself with performing my good deeds. The
only thing that's going to go into the
Kaaba with us.
Number 3,
And he said, I knew that Allah could
see me in everything that I was doing,
so I was too shy for him to
see me in disobedience to him.
And I knew that death was waiting for
me, so I got ready for my meeting
with Allah.
So those
that are not getting ready, those that are
not thinking about meeting Allah,
this is verse number 7 of Suri Yunus,
Those that
are not thinking about
our meeting,
us meeting Allah
what I'll do, and they're just happy with
the fact that they've got
money and material possessions. It's like halas.
They feel almost as if that was the
reason why they were created in the 1st
place,
just to make money and accumulate wealth.
You know? And it's it's brought peace to
their hearts.
It's brought peace to their hearts.
What is going to happen? Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala says,
And those who are heedless about our signs,
we just spoke about some of the small
signs that are already here, and there's so
many more.
We are surrounded by all the signs that
kiyama is near. We don't know when. We
don't know you'd know what near might even
be,
but we know that we need to prepare.
When the Sahabi asked, You Rasulullah, when
is the hour going to be? The Prophet
immediately said to him, mother, ajak, tell her
what have you prepared for it?
What have you prepared for it? Don't worry
when it's gonna be. Just get ready for
it.
Then Allah says in verse number 8,
He says, Ula ikamawahumun
Nar. Their place will be the fire of
Jahannam.
Jahannam
because of what they have earned.
They were heedless. They were careless. They never
got ready for the meeting with
Allah They were solely preoccupied
with chasing after the dunya.
So
our time is after Jamatul Musumeen. Very quickly,
our
our cure for the state of heedlessness and
carelessness
is to know for certain that we were
not created for this dunya. We are in
this dunya like strangers and like travelers,
and whilst we are here for this very
short space of time, like the blink of
an eyelid,
we need to whatever we are doing, we
need to use this time in preparation for
our meeting with Allah
We need to be engaged in zikrullah,
And zikrullahi ta'ala means to think about Allah,
to be conscious and mindful of Allah.
Whether you're doing it
in the number 1, we must look after
al salah, that is the main connection and
remembrance that we make of Allah Subhanahu wa
ta'ala.
To remember Allah in the morning and the
evening,
to spend some time
reading the holy Quran, this is also zikrullahi
ta'ala. This will also take us out of
that state of heedlessness and carelessness.
Seeking knowledge,
seeking knowledge, make time for knowledge. At least
once a week, go to a class.
Go and seek knowledge. It's the one thing
the prophet said, Samu al Salam,
that when the trials and tribulations come like
a dark night,
when people are waking up in the morning
as believers and going to bed as disbelievers,
or going to bed as
believers and waking up as disbelievers. He at
the end, he said,
except the one whom Allah revives with knowledge.
Go and seek knowledge.
So may Allah
make us of those
who remember Him and think of Him as
often as we possibly can,
to call to mind His favors on us,
to be grateful for all the favors that
He's bestowed upon us, and mostly for the
favor of La ilaha illallah
Muhammad
Allahu
sorry, There was an announcement I wanted to
