Rasul Suluki – Yearning for Allahs Love

I am

overwhelmed

to be here,

And, I want to express

my thanks

for having such a place.

I think being here, I've learned the

secret

of Elmakassa,

and it is

that it exposes

the deficiency,

and then it

offers a supplement.

The deficiency

that I had,

and still have,

is this aspect of love

You know, you look for love

I wasn't always Muslim,

so I was looking in all kinds of

places for love

You may think that you can find it

in your parents,

but when you have a big family

you may find a deficiency in your parents'

love.

And then you might marry,

and you find deficiencies

in that love.

You have children,

and I'm not saying that you don't love

them,

but you find deficiencies

in it.

And you come to Islam,

you convert.

Allah gives you that realization

of Islam,

but you find deficiencies.

And what

Elmer Cassid

did was it

directed me towards a goal that I wasn't

aware of before

And the goal was this unique love that

can't be found in anything else

And this is

such a unique love

that it overwhelms

every other thing,

and nothing can be comparable to it.

I used to think it's like loving your

mother or loving your children or loving your

spouse or loving your friends or loving njaliyah

or your girlfriends.

But subhanallah, this is something.

It was

listening to

the auliya

and all of these great scholars

Their love and the love that companions

had

that then gave the goal

the goal of

loving Allah and his messenger,

and the heart will never be satisfied

with any other love.

That's why there's deficiencies

in everything else.

So it is

in realizing

that the only thing that can take care

of this need that the heart has

is to love Allah and his messenger.

And that's why that's where the sweetness of

faith is.

Because it is to love Allah and his

messenger

uniquely from everything else.

That's all it is.

And in Jahiliyah, we used to buy candy

and and

chocolate and flowers and you bring your wife

for this or that.

But this isn't you can't bring anything.

Allah has to confer

on us.

There's no faking it.

And so what I learned from being here

It's to

do these things that inshallah

Allah's gaze will fall upon it

and he will be pleased with it and

he'll give it to us.

And this is what I want.

I don't have it. I want it.

I want this love,

this unique love

that will satisfy

this heart.

So

I share with you

so that you too

will want to yearn for

it and see it as a need

that nothing else

can satisfy.

So we ask Allah

to fill this void that we have

and bless us to be those who are

overwhelmed

in the love

of him and his messenger Muhammad

and our means to get it is through

him,

the messenger of Allah

So we ask Allah to

bless all of the followers of Muhammad

bless

everyone that is here

and their descendants and the ones that aren't

even born yet.

We ask Allah

to raise us

and let us be among those of the

elite.
