00:00:02 --> 00:00:09
			So we continue with the series and alhamdulillah

00:00:09 --> 00:00:11
			rabbil alameen as we have been going through

00:00:11 --> 00:00:14
			the lives of people who passed away Or

00:00:14 --> 00:00:16
			who were martyred particularly in the battle of

00:00:16 --> 00:00:19
			al-yamama against musaylim al-kaddhab we're actually

00:00:19 --> 00:00:22
			getting a chance to revisit some sahaba that

00:00:22 --> 00:00:26
			are otherwise pretty unconventional and If I was

00:00:26 --> 00:00:28
			to ask a group of Muslims tell me

00:00:28 --> 00:00:32
			who the people that were promised Jannah are

00:00:33 --> 00:00:35
			Who are al-ashr al-mubashreen You know

00:00:35 --> 00:00:35
			what?

00:00:36 --> 00:00:37
			Tell me some names other than the ten

00:00:37 --> 00:00:38
			promised paradise.

00:00:38 --> 00:00:40
			Let me hear it from you all Who

00:00:40 --> 00:00:41
			are some names that you know?

00:00:43 --> 00:00:45
			Sa'ad ibn Abi Waqas is from al

00:00:45 --> 00:00:48
			-ashr al-mubashreen These are all al-ashr

00:00:48 --> 00:00:50
			al-mubashreen, ten promised paradise.

00:00:50 --> 00:00:52
			Outside of the ten promised paradise, who else

00:00:52 --> 00:00:53
			did the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam promise

00:00:53 --> 00:00:53
			paradise?

00:00:55 --> 00:00:58
			Bilal radiyallahu ta'ala anhu Nusaybah radiyallahu ta

00:00:58 --> 00:00:59
			'ala anha.

00:00:59 --> 00:01:01
			There are so many names that come to

00:01:01 --> 00:01:02
			mind.

00:01:02 --> 00:01:04
			Umm Sulaym radiyallahu ta'ala anha, the Prophet

00:01:04 --> 00:01:06
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam saw her The mother

00:01:06 --> 00:01:07
			of Anas ibn Malik radiyallahu anhu.

00:01:08 --> 00:01:10
			There's so many names that come to mind

00:01:10 --> 00:01:14
			of people that were promised paradise If I

00:01:14 --> 00:01:16
			was to ask a group of Muslims, I

00:01:16 --> 00:01:19
			almost guarantee that the name that we're covering

00:01:19 --> 00:01:22
			today will not come up and That's because

00:01:22 --> 00:01:25
			his guarantee of Jannah is so unconventional and

00:01:25 --> 00:01:28
			everything about him is so different From the

00:01:28 --> 00:01:30
			nature in which other people were promised Jannah

00:01:30 --> 00:01:34
			and that is Thabit ibn Qais ibn al

00:01:34 --> 00:01:37
			-Shammas al-Ansari radiyallahu ta'ala anhu Thabit

00:01:37 --> 00:01:41
			ibn Qais al-Ansari radiyallahu ta'ala anhu

00:01:41 --> 00:01:44
			Thabit ibn Qais has one of the most

00:01:44 --> 00:01:48
			beautiful titles He is Khatib Rasulillahi sallallahu alayhi

00:01:48 --> 00:01:51
			wa sallam He is the spokesperson of the

00:01:51 --> 00:01:53
			Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam And so the

00:01:53 --> 00:01:56
			sahaba or the historians would say that Hassan

00:01:56 --> 00:01:59
			ibn Thabit radiyallahu anhu was sha'ir Rasulillahi

00:01:59 --> 00:02:00
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam the poet of the

00:02:00 --> 00:02:03
			Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Thabit ibn Qais

00:02:03 --> 00:02:06
			was the khatib of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:02:06 --> 00:02:08
			wa sallam the spokesperson of the messenger of

00:02:08 --> 00:02:12
			Allah Sallallahu alayhi wa sallam and he's actually

00:02:12 --> 00:02:15
			one of the early Muslims So he actually

00:02:15 --> 00:02:17
			shows up early on in the seerah and

00:02:17 --> 00:02:19
			some of those incidents that we know about

00:02:19 --> 00:02:22
			The Ansar meeting the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:02:22 --> 00:02:26
			sallam and securing that alliance from them So

00:02:26 --> 00:02:29
			he was particularly from the tribe known as

00:02:29 --> 00:02:31
			Banu Amr ibn Auf.

00:02:31 --> 00:02:34
			I'm sorry Banu Salim ibn Auf Banu Salim

00:02:34 --> 00:02:36
			ibn Auf Now this helps you when you

00:02:36 --> 00:02:38
			go to Umrah inshallah If any of you

00:02:38 --> 00:02:40
			have been to Umrah or Hajj recently You

00:02:40 --> 00:02:43
			would notice that they have a walkway from

00:02:43 --> 00:02:45
			Masjid Quba or to Masjid Quba, Mamsha Quba

00:02:45 --> 00:02:47
			Right the walkway that you can go from

00:02:47 --> 00:02:50
			Masjid Nabawi all the way to Masjid Quba

00:02:50 --> 00:02:53
			and you could pray two rak'ahs as

00:02:53 --> 00:02:55
			the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did and

00:02:55 --> 00:02:57
			then there is a left turn That you

00:02:57 --> 00:02:59
			would take on the way to Masjid Quba,

00:02:59 --> 00:03:03
			which is Masjid al-Jumu'ah The masjid

00:03:03 --> 00:03:05
			of the Friday prayer and we've spoken about

00:03:05 --> 00:03:07
			this in some of the other companions But

00:03:07 --> 00:03:10
			it's always good to refresh the memory Masjid

00:03:10 --> 00:03:14
			Quba was Banu Amr ibn Auf Was a

00:03:14 --> 00:03:17
			tribe from the Ansar a sub-tribe of

00:03:17 --> 00:03:21
			Khazraj So you have Ansar, Aus Khazraj and

00:03:21 --> 00:03:24
			then you have under Khazraj Banu Amr ibn

00:03:24 --> 00:03:27
			Auf a tribe that occupied the area of

00:03:27 --> 00:03:28
			Masjid Quba and they were the hosts of

00:03:28 --> 00:03:31
			the Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Banu Salim

00:03:31 --> 00:03:34
			ibn Auf were the cousins of Banu Amr

00:03:34 --> 00:03:37
			ibn Auf and they lived between Masjid Quba

00:03:37 --> 00:03:40
			and Masjid Nabawi and They asked the Prophet

00:03:40 --> 00:03:42
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam as he was making

00:03:42 --> 00:03:45
			his way To Al Medina to set up

00:03:45 --> 00:03:48
			Masjid Nabawi Give us something by which we

00:03:48 --> 00:03:50
			can have some sort of privilege, right?

00:03:50 --> 00:03:53
			You stayed with our cousins for two weeks.

00:03:53 --> 00:03:54
			Give us something as well Oh messenger of

00:03:54 --> 00:03:57
			Allah So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:03:57 --> 00:04:00
			stopped at the area of Banu Salim ibn

00:04:00 --> 00:04:02
			Auf and he prayed Salat al-Jumu'ah

00:04:02 --> 00:04:05
			Hence, subhanAllah, they forever have the masjid, Masjid

00:04:05 --> 00:04:07
			al-Jumu'ah, the masjid of the Friday

00:04:07 --> 00:04:11
			prayer So Thabit ibn Qais radiyallahu ta'ala

00:04:11 --> 00:04:15
			anhu is From this particular tribe and he

00:04:15 --> 00:04:19
			was considered before being khatib Rasool Allah sallallahu

00:04:19 --> 00:04:20
			alayhi wa sallam The spokesperson of the Prophet

00:04:20 --> 00:04:22
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam khatib al-Ansar.

00:04:22 --> 00:04:26
			He was the spokesperson of the Ansar Why

00:04:26 --> 00:04:28
			is that and and what does that look

00:04:28 --> 00:04:30
			like in terms of the incidents of the

00:04:30 --> 00:04:30
			seerah?

00:04:31 --> 00:04:34
			Number one, he was extremely eloquent Number two,

00:04:35 --> 00:04:36
			he's the opposite of Zayd ibn al-Khattab

00:04:36 --> 00:04:37
			radiyallahu ta'ala anhu in this regard.

00:04:37 --> 00:04:41
			He was very loud Sultan Jahir Like he

00:04:41 --> 00:04:45
			had a microphone in his voice All right,

00:04:45 --> 00:04:48
			when he spoke his voice boomed radiyallahu ta

00:04:48 --> 00:04:50
			'ala anhu So he had a loud voice

00:04:50 --> 00:04:54
			and he was extremely eloquent Well versed in

00:04:54 --> 00:04:56
			the Arabic language and he comes from a

00:04:56 --> 00:05:00
			noble tribe So the Ansar Aus and Khazraj

00:05:00 --> 00:05:02
			kind of saw him as the spokesperson when

00:05:02 --> 00:05:04
			they would go to any sort of arena

00:05:04 --> 00:05:08
			Which required a spokesperson Thabit ibn Qais stands

00:05:08 --> 00:05:11
			on the part of the Ansar Now a

00:05:11 --> 00:05:13
			little bit about his family really quick inshallah

00:05:13 --> 00:05:14
			ta'ala just so we can we can

00:05:14 --> 00:05:16
			keep this in as part of the history

00:05:17 --> 00:05:21
			He's actually the half-brother of Abdullah ibn

00:05:21 --> 00:05:23
			Rawaha radiyallahu ta'ala anhu.

00:05:23 --> 00:05:25
			So he actually has the same mother as

00:05:25 --> 00:05:28
			Abdullah ibn Rawaha radiyallahu ta'ala anhu, the

00:05:28 --> 00:05:31
			famous sahabi, the famous shaheed, the famous martyr

00:05:31 --> 00:05:34
			in the battle of Mu'tah So he and

00:05:34 --> 00:05:37
			his and his half-brother Abdullah ibn Rawaha

00:05:37 --> 00:05:40
			According to some of the historians, they both

00:05:40 --> 00:05:41
			have the same mother.

00:05:41 --> 00:05:46
			Her name was Kapsha bintu Waqid Kapsha bintu

00:05:46 --> 00:05:47
			Waqid.

00:05:47 --> 00:05:50
			So he's the maternal brother of the great

00:05:50 --> 00:05:53
			Abdullah ibn Rawaha radiyallahu ta'ala anhu wa

00:05:53 --> 00:05:57
			'an akhir now Here's something else about him

00:05:58 --> 00:06:02
			he specifically was not very good-looking and

00:06:03 --> 00:06:05
			It's actually important to put that out there

00:06:05 --> 00:06:07
			because the sahaba were different personalities obviously every

00:06:07 --> 00:06:10
			time you talk about the sahaba, you know,

00:06:10 --> 00:06:12
			you get this sort of image, right and

00:06:13 --> 00:06:18
			He was notably unattractive and this actually plays

00:06:18 --> 00:06:20
			a role in his life It actually shows

00:06:20 --> 00:06:22
			up in his life and it's important to

00:06:22 --> 00:06:24
			mention it not for the sake of degrading

00:06:24 --> 00:06:26
			him at all But for the sake of

00:06:26 --> 00:06:29
			pointing out that Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala la

00:06:29 --> 00:06:32
			yanzuru ila suwarikum wala ila arsadikum Allah does

00:06:32 --> 00:06:33
			not look at your appearances nor does he

00:06:33 --> 00:06:36
			look at your bodies rather Allah subhanahu wa'ta

00:06:36 --> 00:06:38
			'ala looks at your hearts and at your

00:06:38 --> 00:06:40
			deeds and so he was noted for not

00:06:40 --> 00:06:44
			having a pleasant appearance but a loud eloquent

00:06:44 --> 00:06:47
			voice and a spokesperson of the Ansar and

00:06:48 --> 00:06:50
			When the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam comes

00:06:50 --> 00:06:54
			to al-Madinah He is the one who

00:06:54 --> 00:06:56
			says to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:06:56 --> 00:06:57
			on behalf of the Ansar.

00:06:58 --> 00:07:01
			He says ya rasool Allah namna'uka mimma

00:07:01 --> 00:07:04
			namna'u minhu anfusana wa auladana fama lana

00:07:05 --> 00:07:08
			Oh messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:07:08 --> 00:07:11
			We will protect you the same way that

00:07:11 --> 00:07:13
			we protect ourselves and we protect our children

00:07:14 --> 00:07:16
			So, what do we get in return what

00:07:16 --> 00:07:17
			was the answer of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:07:17 --> 00:07:20
			wa sallam Anyone remember it's a famous conversation

00:07:21 --> 00:07:22
			What did the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:07:22 --> 00:07:23
			tell the Ansar?

00:07:25 --> 00:07:27
			Jannah Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said you

00:07:27 --> 00:07:31
			get Jannah for protecting me like you protect

00:07:31 --> 00:07:33
			yourselves and you protect your own children and

00:07:33 --> 00:07:36
			That's one they said to the Prophet sallallahu

00:07:36 --> 00:07:37
			alayhi wa sallam radina.

00:07:38 --> 00:07:38
			We're pleased.

00:07:38 --> 00:07:39
			We'll take it.

00:07:39 --> 00:07:41
			We get Jannah We'll take it.

00:07:41 --> 00:07:42
			We don't want anything else from you.

00:07:43 --> 00:07:45
			Oh messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:07:45 --> 00:07:48
			So Thabit radiAllahu ta'ala anhu comes forth

00:07:48 --> 00:07:50
			and he brings his elderly mother.

00:07:50 --> 00:07:54
			So Umm Thabit Takes her shahada with the

00:07:54 --> 00:07:55
			Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam her bay'ah

00:07:55 --> 00:07:57
			with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam And

00:07:57 --> 00:07:59
			he immediately garners favor with the Prophet sallallahu

00:07:59 --> 00:08:02
			alayhi wa sallam specifically for his ikhlas for

00:08:02 --> 00:08:05
			his sincerity So he's noted for his sincerity

00:08:05 --> 00:08:09
			radiAllahu ta'ala anhu And we said that

00:08:09 --> 00:08:10
			the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would pair

00:08:10 --> 00:08:13
			people off from the muhajireen and the ansar

00:08:13 --> 00:08:17
			That were of similar dispositions So as an

00:08:17 --> 00:08:21
			ansari he receives in his home Ammar ibn

00:08:21 --> 00:08:25
			yasir radiAllahu ta'ala anhu and Hudhayfa ibn

00:08:25 --> 00:08:27
			al-yaman radiAllahu ta'ala anhu The secret

00:08:27 --> 00:08:29
			keeper of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:08:29 --> 00:08:33
			who was the furthest from an nifaq the

00:08:33 --> 00:08:36
			furthest from Hypocrisy now, by the way, just

00:08:36 --> 00:08:38
			a side note There were some of the

00:08:38 --> 00:08:40
			ansar that accommodated more than one brother And

00:08:40 --> 00:08:43
			that was a sign of their status obviously

00:08:43 --> 00:08:44
			that they had bigger homes that they had

00:08:44 --> 00:08:46
			more wealth that they could actually take in

00:08:46 --> 00:08:50
			More than one person There are also instances

00:08:50 --> 00:08:52
			where you find one of the muhajireen who

00:08:52 --> 00:08:55
			has multiple brothers from the ansar Because he

00:08:55 --> 00:08:57
			was hosted for some time in one home

00:08:57 --> 00:09:00
			and then eventually moved into another home for

00:09:00 --> 00:09:03
			whatever reason So Ammar ibn yasir actually is

00:09:03 --> 00:09:04
			also the brother of someone else that we

00:09:04 --> 00:09:06
			will talk about inshallah ta'ala But here

00:09:06 --> 00:09:08
			I think if you just want to focus

00:09:08 --> 00:09:10
			on the idea of his ikhlas, his sincerity

00:09:10 --> 00:09:14
			and his fear of hypocrisy Hudhayfa radiAllahu ta

00:09:14 --> 00:09:16
			'ala anhu feared hypocrisy so much that the

00:09:16 --> 00:09:18
			Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam essentially told him

00:09:18 --> 00:09:22
			you are immune from hypocrisy Thabit ibn Qais

00:09:22 --> 00:09:24
			as we will see is a man who

00:09:24 --> 00:09:28
			fears hypocrisy to an extreme level To the

00:09:28 --> 00:09:30
			point that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:09:30 --> 00:09:33
			will have to assure him on Multiple occasions

00:09:33 --> 00:09:36
			that he is not radiAllahu ta'ala anhu

00:09:36 --> 00:09:38
			from the hypocrites and that he is indeed

00:09:38 --> 00:09:41
			from those that are Praiseworthy in the sight

00:09:41 --> 00:09:44
			of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala So what

00:09:44 --> 00:09:45
			role does he play?

00:09:46 --> 00:09:50
			His main role is Certainly to be the

00:09:50 --> 00:09:51
			spokesperson of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:09:51 --> 00:09:54
			now khatib al-ansar khatib rasoolillahi sallallahu alayhi

00:09:54 --> 00:09:56
			wa sallam But he also is a warrior

00:09:57 --> 00:10:00
			He's not amongst those that witnessed badr due

00:10:00 --> 00:10:03
			to circumstance He simply wasn't present in the

00:10:03 --> 00:10:04
			battle of badr because of course the battle

00:10:04 --> 00:10:07
			of badr took place out of surprise So

00:10:07 --> 00:10:10
			he attended every battle alongside the Prophet sallallahu

00:10:10 --> 00:10:14
			alayhi wa sallam with the exception of the

00:10:14 --> 00:10:15
			battle of badr So he was present at

00:10:15 --> 00:10:18
			uhud and he was present at bayat al

00:10:18 --> 00:10:20
			-ridwan at the pledge of ridwan May Allah

00:10:20 --> 00:10:21
			subhanahu wa ta'ala be pleased with him

00:10:21 --> 00:10:23
			and all the companions The Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:10:23 --> 00:10:25
			wa sallam said about him on more than

00:10:25 --> 00:10:29
			one occasion ni'ma rajulu thabit ibn qais ni'ma

00:10:29 --> 00:10:33
			rajulu thabit ibn qais What an awesome man

00:10:33 --> 00:10:36
			thabit ibn qais is What an amazing man

00:10:36 --> 00:10:38
			thabit ibn qais is now when the Prophet

00:10:38 --> 00:10:39
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam goes out of his

00:10:39 --> 00:10:42
			way to praise you There are many reasons

00:10:42 --> 00:10:45
			for that One of them could clearly be

00:10:45 --> 00:10:48
			because you deserve praise Right and the Prophet

00:10:48 --> 00:10:50
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam never praises anyone from

00:10:50 --> 00:10:52
			hypocrisy So anyone that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:10:52 --> 00:10:55
			wa sallam praises has virtue that is assigned

00:10:55 --> 00:10:57
			to them So it's certainly that he was

00:10:57 --> 00:11:00
			indeed praiseworthy radiyallahu ta'ala anhu The other

00:11:00 --> 00:11:01
			one is that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:11:01 --> 00:11:04
			sallam is making his position amongst the companions

00:11:04 --> 00:11:07
			known Making his position amongst the companions known.

00:11:07 --> 00:11:08
			So when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:11:08 --> 00:11:11
			says to other people ni'ma rajulu thulan What

00:11:11 --> 00:11:14
			a great person this is Everyone takes note

00:11:14 --> 00:11:16
			Says the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said

00:11:16 --> 00:11:17
			about this person that they're a great man

00:11:17 --> 00:11:20
			The third one is to elevate the self

00:11:20 --> 00:11:23
			-esteem of the person that he's speaking about

00:11:23 --> 00:11:25
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam And you can clearly

00:11:25 --> 00:11:27
			see in the case of thabit radiyallahu ta

00:11:27 --> 00:11:31
			'ala anhu That those assurances are needed from

00:11:31 --> 00:11:34
			the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam for more

00:11:34 --> 00:11:37
			than one reason It's narrated that the Prophet

00:11:37 --> 00:11:40
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam If he did not

00:11:40 --> 00:11:42
			see him in a gathering, he immediately asked

00:11:42 --> 00:11:46
			about him sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Can't talk

00:11:46 --> 00:11:47
			about the beauty of a companion without talking

00:11:47 --> 00:11:49
			about the beauty of Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa

00:11:49 --> 00:11:50
			sallam If he saw him missing in a

00:11:50 --> 00:11:52
			gathering, he immediately asked ayna thabit, where is

00:11:52 --> 00:11:56
			thabit radiyallahu anhu And in one narration subhanAllah,

00:11:56 --> 00:12:00
			which we take The dua that we make

00:12:00 --> 00:12:02
			when someone is ill or one of the

00:12:02 --> 00:12:04
			duas that we make when someone is ill

00:12:04 --> 00:12:05
			is because the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:12:05 --> 00:12:08
			saw thabit missing in a gathering He asked

00:12:08 --> 00:12:11
			about him alayhis salatu wassalam They told him

00:12:11 --> 00:12:13
			that he is sick the Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:12:13 --> 00:12:16
			wa sallam entered upon him And he put

00:12:16 --> 00:12:18
			his hand on his head sallallahu alayhi wa

00:12:18 --> 00:12:22
			sallam and he recited adhibil ba's rabb al

00:12:22 --> 00:12:25
			-naas wa shfi anta sh-shaafi la shifa

00:12:25 --> 00:12:28
			'a illa shifa'uk shifa'un la yughadiru

00:12:28 --> 00:12:31
			saqaman adhibil ba's, remove the harm, rabb al

00:12:31 --> 00:12:34
			-naas, O Lord of the people wa shfi

00:12:34 --> 00:12:36
			anta sh-shaafi, and heal, you are the

00:12:36 --> 00:12:39
			healer, la shifa'a illa shifa'uk shifa

00:12:39 --> 00:12:42
			'un la yughadiru saqaman There is no healing

00:12:42 --> 00:12:44
			except for yours, a healing which leaves no

00:12:44 --> 00:12:47
			trace of illness behind So the Messenger of

00:12:47 --> 00:12:48
			Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam made the dua

00:12:48 --> 00:12:51
			for him And that is one of the

00:12:51 --> 00:12:52
			ways in which we know how to make

00:12:52 --> 00:12:55
			dua for the sick So the Prophet sallallahu

00:12:55 --> 00:12:57
			alayhi wa sallam asks about him alayhis salatu

00:12:57 --> 00:13:01
			wassalam Now what's interesting about him in this

00:13:01 --> 00:13:03
			regard and as I said, it's not always

00:13:03 --> 00:13:07
			conventional is that he's also known for a

00:13:07 --> 00:13:12
			famous divorce a famous talaq and His divorce

00:13:12 --> 00:13:16
			is the first khula' in Islam the first

00:13:16 --> 00:13:18
			khula' that we know Which is the divorce

00:13:18 --> 00:13:21
			that's initiated by the woman and it gives

00:13:21 --> 00:13:23
			you a very real look at that time

00:13:23 --> 00:13:26
			That And it's narrated in Bukhari and Muslim,

00:13:27 --> 00:13:30
			Ibn Abbas radiallahu anhu and others That the

00:13:30 --> 00:13:33
			wife of Thabit ibn Qais radiallahu ta'ala

00:13:33 --> 00:13:35
			anhu came to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam

00:13:35 --> 00:13:40
			and said ya rasool Allah Thabit ibn Qaisin

00:13:40 --> 00:13:43
			ma a'ibu alayhi fi khuluqin wa la

00:13:43 --> 00:13:47
			deen Thabit ibn Qais, I do not find

00:13:47 --> 00:13:50
			flaw with him in his religion or his

00:13:50 --> 00:13:52
			character I'm not coming to you to complain

00:13:52 --> 00:13:55
			about a bad man I'm not coming to

00:13:55 --> 00:13:57
			you because he has an issue with his

00:13:57 --> 00:13:58
			deen or his character.

00:13:59 --> 00:14:01
			That's not what it is She said wa

00:14:01 --> 00:14:05
			lakinni akrahu al-kufra fil-islam But I'm

00:14:05 --> 00:14:08
			afraid of al-kufr fil-islam the kufr

00:14:08 --> 00:14:12
			that she's talking about is ingratitude In gratitude,

00:14:12 --> 00:14:15
			which of course can be disbelief and it's

00:14:15 --> 00:14:18
			qualified What she's really trying to say is

00:14:18 --> 00:14:20
			that I don't want to disobey Allah subhanahu

00:14:20 --> 00:14:23
			wa'ta'ala in regards to him Because in

00:14:23 --> 00:14:26
			one narration she said wa lakinni la utiquhu

00:14:26 --> 00:14:28
			She said I cannot endure to live with

00:14:28 --> 00:14:30
			him I cannot endure to live with him.

00:14:30 --> 00:14:34
			A more specific narration and it hurts, but

00:14:34 --> 00:14:38
			it's important to mention it That Amr ibn

00:14:38 --> 00:14:40
			Shu'ayb narrates and Thabit ibn Qais kana

00:14:40 --> 00:14:43
			dameem that Thabit ibn Qais was not very

00:14:43 --> 00:14:46
			good-looking Wa anna mra'atahu qarat lawla

00:14:46 --> 00:14:51
			makhafatullahi idha dakhala alayya labasaqtu fee wajhihi She

00:14:51 --> 00:14:53
			said that if I didn't fear Allah subhanahu

00:14:53 --> 00:14:54
			wa'ta'ala, I would spit when I saw

00:14:54 --> 00:14:56
			him So she said some very harsh things

00:14:56 --> 00:14:58
			about him and it appears to be that

00:14:58 --> 00:15:00
			this was in the very beginning of the

00:15:00 --> 00:15:02
			marriage and it gives you a dimension obviously

00:15:02 --> 00:15:06
			of This particular relationship.

00:15:06 --> 00:15:08
			The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said to

00:15:08 --> 00:15:13
			her Atruddeena alayhi hadiqatahu Will you return back

00:15:13 --> 00:15:14
			to him his garden?

00:15:14 --> 00:15:15
			Meaning what?

00:15:15 --> 00:15:16
			He gifted her a garden for the mahr

00:15:16 --> 00:15:18
			and she said naam She said yes, the

00:15:18 --> 00:15:21
			Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said give him

00:15:21 --> 00:15:23
			back his garden and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:15:23 --> 00:15:25
			wa sallam Annulled the marriage.

00:15:25 --> 00:15:27
			Therefore this is known as the first khula'

00:15:27 --> 00:15:28
			in Islam.

00:15:28 --> 00:15:30
			Now, why is this an important thing to

00:15:30 --> 00:15:30
			mention?

00:15:31 --> 00:15:34
			number one it's real and You know, you

00:15:34 --> 00:15:36
			don't glance over it because it gives you

00:15:36 --> 00:15:36
			another companion.

00:15:37 --> 00:15:38
			It gives you another dimension of a sahabi

00:15:39 --> 00:15:42
			Right and again that Allah Azawajal praises people

00:15:42 --> 00:15:45
			for different reasons Number two this couldn't have

00:15:45 --> 00:15:48
			been easy for him This must have been

00:15:48 --> 00:15:51
			very difficult for him wa man yataqillaha yaj

00:15:51 --> 00:15:52
			'al lahu makhraja wa yarzuqhu min haythu laa

00:15:52 --> 00:15:55
			yihtasib wa man yatawakkal ala Allah fa huwa

00:15:55 --> 00:15:57
			hasbu But whoever fears Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala

00:15:57 --> 00:15:59
			Allah makes a way out for them Number

00:15:59 --> 00:16:02
			three and I'll mention this as well Do

00:16:02 --> 00:16:06
			not read Hadiths and extract your own fiqh

00:16:06 --> 00:16:10
			without Understanding from a scholar because this is

00:16:10 --> 00:16:12
			one of the most abused hadiths in Islam

00:16:12 --> 00:16:14
			as well so it's important for us especially

00:16:14 --> 00:16:16
			when it comes to affairs of marriage and

00:16:16 --> 00:16:17
			divorce that people don't sit there and pick

00:16:17 --> 00:16:19
			and choose a Hadith when they want to

00:16:19 --> 00:16:21
			and then utilize them in the way that

00:16:21 --> 00:16:23
			they want to but it does give the

00:16:23 --> 00:16:25
			Legal basis for what is known as the

00:16:25 --> 00:16:27
			khula' in Islam with all of its conditions

00:16:27 --> 00:16:29
			and we're not going to get into the

00:16:29 --> 00:16:31
			fiqh Khula' we're not going to get into

00:16:31 --> 00:16:33
			the fiqh of the divorce in this regard.

00:16:34 --> 00:16:37
			However What did Allah give him as after

00:16:37 --> 00:16:37
			that?

00:16:38 --> 00:16:40
			What did Thabit ibn Qais get after that?

00:16:40 --> 00:16:41
			So this obviously could not have been a

00:16:41 --> 00:16:45
			good experience for him He ends up marrying

00:16:47 --> 00:16:51
			Jameela bint Abdullah ibn Ubayy ibn Salul Abdullah

00:16:51 --> 00:16:54
			ibn Ubayy ibn Salul chief of the hypocrites

00:16:55 --> 00:16:57
			His daughter Jameela radhiAllahu ta'ala anha a

00:16:57 --> 00:17:02
			very righteous woman She was the widow of

00:17:02 --> 00:17:06
			Hamdala Ghaseer al-Malaika radhiAllahu anhu Remember Hamdala

00:17:06 --> 00:17:11
			radhiAllahu anhu Ibn Abi Amr came to the

00:17:11 --> 00:17:14
			battlefield of Uhud in Janabah He was in

00:17:14 --> 00:17:17
			a state of impurity because his wedding night

00:17:17 --> 00:17:21
			was the night before Uhud SubhanAllah, so she

00:17:21 --> 00:17:24
			was married to Hamdala for one night and

00:17:24 --> 00:17:27
			then became a widow of Hamdala and She

00:17:27 --> 00:17:30
			married Thabit ibn Qais radhiAllahu ta'ala anhu

00:17:30 --> 00:17:34
			wa anha and Through that Thabit had his

00:17:34 --> 00:17:38
			first son Muhammad or Abdurrahman So you have

00:17:38 --> 00:17:40
			another Muhammad in the seerah Muhammad ibn Thabit

00:17:40 --> 00:17:43
			and they had multiple children Muhammad ibn Thabit,

00:17:43 --> 00:17:48
			Zaynab Abdullah Abdurrahman Yahya and more so this

00:17:48 --> 00:17:51
			became his wife after that experience which was

00:17:51 --> 00:17:55
			early on in Islam and You know set

00:17:55 --> 00:17:58
			a motion or Or gave us the legal

00:17:58 --> 00:18:02
			determination for the Khulaa in Islam now That's

00:18:02 --> 00:18:05
			his family life so he gets married to

00:18:05 --> 00:18:07
			a very noble woman a woman that Allah

00:18:07 --> 00:18:12
			azawajal gave very special status to and He's

00:18:12 --> 00:18:15
			someone that still assumes that position of being

00:18:15 --> 00:18:16
			the spokesperson of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:18:16 --> 00:18:17
			sallam Like I said, nothing is going to

00:18:17 --> 00:18:20
			be conventional about him The Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:18:20 --> 00:18:22
			wa sallam when he would walk to a

00:18:22 --> 00:18:25
			place He would ask for his sha'ir

00:18:25 --> 00:18:27
			and he would ask for his khatib So

00:18:27 --> 00:18:28
			one of the things is to be asked

00:18:28 --> 00:18:29
			about by the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:18:29 --> 00:18:30
			the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said where

00:18:30 --> 00:18:31
			is my poet?

00:18:31 --> 00:18:32
			Where is my spokesperson?

00:18:32 --> 00:18:33
			Right.

00:18:33 --> 00:18:35
			So Thabit is not someone that's gonna get

00:18:35 --> 00:18:36
			into it with people.

00:18:36 --> 00:18:39
			He doesn't have the Dispoetry of Hassan ibn

00:18:39 --> 00:18:43
			Thabit radhiAllahu anhu or others But he praises

00:18:43 --> 00:18:45
			Allah and he praises the Messenger of Allah

00:18:45 --> 00:18:48
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Beautifully and so the

00:18:48 --> 00:18:52
			words flow about Allah and the Messenger sallallahu

00:18:52 --> 00:18:54
			alayhi wa sallam Like poetry even though he's

00:18:54 --> 00:18:56
			not a poet you understand the concept even

00:18:56 --> 00:18:59
			when he's just giving a regular address He

00:18:59 --> 00:19:01
			sounds poetic radhiAllahu anhu when he's asked to

00:19:01 --> 00:19:03
			praise Allah or asked to praise the Messenger

00:19:03 --> 00:19:06
			of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam And in

00:19:06 --> 00:19:08
			the year of delegations where the tribes were

00:19:08 --> 00:19:11
			coming to embrace Islam with the Prophet sallallahu

00:19:11 --> 00:19:14
			alayhi wa sallam Thabit ibn Qais radhiAllahu anhu

00:19:14 --> 00:19:17
			was present and The tradition of the Arabs

00:19:18 --> 00:19:21
			Was to praise their own tribes The Prophet

00:19:21 --> 00:19:25
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam did not ask for

00:19:25 --> 00:19:28
			responses to be praise of Quraysh Rather praise

00:19:28 --> 00:19:30
			Allah and praise the Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa

00:19:30 --> 00:19:30
			sallam.

00:19:30 --> 00:19:34
			There's a different notion here of Connection that

00:19:34 --> 00:19:38
			we have so the most famous praise that

00:19:38 --> 00:19:41
			we have is that when Banu Tamim Came

00:19:41 --> 00:19:43
			to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam in

00:19:43 --> 00:19:47
			the year of delegations and They stood up

00:19:47 --> 00:19:51
			and they gave their introduction The Prophet sallallahu

00:19:51 --> 00:19:54
			alayhi wa sallam said Qum fa ajib khateebahum.

00:19:54 --> 00:19:56
			Thabit stand up and give an address so

00:19:56 --> 00:19:58
			they gave an address Stand up and give

00:19:58 --> 00:20:00
			an address to give you some of the

00:20:00 --> 00:20:03
			dynamics if you came and insulted the Prophet

00:20:03 --> 00:20:05
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam You're getting that guy

00:20:05 --> 00:20:06
			Hassan ibn Thabit.

00:20:06 --> 00:20:08
			If you came and said something nice you're

00:20:08 --> 00:20:11
			getting Thabit ibn Qais All right, so Thabit

00:20:11 --> 00:20:13
			is not one who insults he's one who

00:20:13 --> 00:20:16
			stands up with praise so Thabit stood up

00:20:16 --> 00:20:21
			Fa hamidallaha wa ablagha He praised Allah so

00:20:21 --> 00:20:24
			beautifully and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:20:24 --> 00:20:27
			was so proud of him Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:20:27 --> 00:20:28
			wa sallam had a big smile on his

00:20:28 --> 00:20:31
			face When Thabit stood up and what's narrated

00:20:31 --> 00:20:34
			and it's even beautiful in Arabic He said

00:20:34 --> 00:20:39
			alhamdulillahi allathee assamawatu wal ardu khalquhu qada feehinna

00:20:39 --> 00:20:43
			amrahu wa wasiAAa kursiyahu ilmuhu walam yakushay'un

00:20:43 --> 00:20:46
			qat illa min fadlihi All praises be to

00:20:46 --> 00:20:48
			Allah whose creation is the heavens and the

00:20:48 --> 00:20:51
			earth who then decreed his command over them

00:20:51 --> 00:20:55
			and whose knowledge encompasses his kursi and Nothing

00:20:55 --> 00:20:57
			has been given to us except min fadlihi

00:20:57 --> 00:21:01
			except from his grace Thumma kana min qudratihi

00:21:01 --> 00:21:03
			an ja'alana mulukan and then it was

00:21:03 --> 00:21:06
			by his power that he made us kings

00:21:06 --> 00:21:09
			And he went on to praise the Prophet

00:21:09 --> 00:21:13
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam wasstafa min khayri khalqihi

00:21:13 --> 00:21:17
			rasoola akramahu nasaban wa asdaqahu hadithan wa afdalahu

00:21:17 --> 00:21:20
			hasaban and he gave us a prophet He

00:21:20 --> 00:21:23
			chose from us a messenger sallallahu alayhi wa

00:21:23 --> 00:21:25
			sallam the most noble of them in lineage

00:21:25 --> 00:21:28
			The most truthful of them in speech and

00:21:28 --> 00:21:31
			the most beautiful of them in character fa

00:21:31 --> 00:21:36
			anzala alayhi kitabahu wa'tamanahu ala khalqihi fa kana

00:21:36 --> 00:21:39
			kheeratallahi minal alameen And then Allah subhanahu wa'ta

00:21:39 --> 00:21:42
			'ala descended his book upon him and Allah

00:21:42 --> 00:21:44
			subhanahu wa'ta'ala entrusted him with his creation

00:21:44 --> 00:21:47
			And then he became Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala's

00:21:47 --> 00:21:50
			chosen one amongst the people or amongst all

00:21:50 --> 00:21:52
			of the worlds thumma da'an nasa ila

00:21:52 --> 00:21:56
			al-eemani bihi fa aamana bi rasoolillahi sallallahu

00:21:56 --> 00:21:59
			alayhi wa sallam al-muhajiroon min qawmihi wa

00:21:59 --> 00:22:03
			dawi rahimihi He said that then Allah subhanahu

00:22:03 --> 00:22:05
			wa'ta'ala sent down upon him the book

00:22:05 --> 00:22:08
			And he called upon the people to believe

00:22:08 --> 00:22:10
			in him And the muhajireen from his people

00:22:10 --> 00:22:15
			and the chosen one from his kin believed

00:22:15 --> 00:22:17
			in him as well Meaning his kinfolk, his

00:22:17 --> 00:22:20
			family as well And he then went on

00:22:20 --> 00:22:22
			to praise the muhajireen He said akram al

00:22:22 --> 00:22:25
			-nasi hasaban, wa ahsan al-nasi wajuhan, wa

00:22:25 --> 00:22:26
			khair al-nasi fi'alan That they are

00:22:26 --> 00:22:28
			the best of people in lineage They are

00:22:28 --> 00:22:30
			the most beautiful of people They are the

00:22:30 --> 00:22:32
			best of people in character And they are

00:22:32 --> 00:22:34
			the most truthful in what they do Meaning

00:22:34 --> 00:22:37
			they actually act upon what they say thumma

00:22:37 --> 00:22:41
			kana awwal al-khalqi ijabatan, wa istajaballahi heena

00:22:41 --> 00:22:44
			da'ahu rasoolallahi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam anahnu

00:22:44 --> 00:22:47
			He said and then after them We were

00:22:47 --> 00:22:49
			the first creation to respond And we answered

00:22:49 --> 00:22:52
			Allah when his messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:22:52 --> 00:22:56
			called upon us And he says fanahnu ansarullahi

00:22:56 --> 00:22:59
			wa wuzara'u rasoolihi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:22:59 --> 00:23:02
			We are the ansar of the Prophet sallallahu

00:23:02 --> 00:23:04
			alayhi wa sallam And we are the ministers

00:23:04 --> 00:23:07
			of the messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam And

00:23:07 --> 00:23:08
			the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had this

00:23:08 --> 00:23:09
			huge smile on his face Because what a

00:23:09 --> 00:23:12
			beautiful introduction to Allah and to the messenger

00:23:12 --> 00:23:13
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam To a people that

00:23:13 --> 00:23:15
			are coming from afar That only know how

00:23:15 --> 00:23:17
			to praise their idols and praise their ancestors

00:23:17 --> 00:23:20
			And all sorts of different things This is

00:23:20 --> 00:23:23
			the praise of Allah And the messenger of

00:23:23 --> 00:23:25
			Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam From Thabit ibn

00:23:25 --> 00:23:28
			Qais radiallahu anhu All good, right?

00:23:29 --> 00:23:34
			Except He also is associated famously With an

00:23:34 --> 00:23:37
			ayah of negativity And that is in Surah

00:23:37 --> 00:23:41
			Al-Hujurat Thabit ibn Qais radiallahu anhu Remember

00:23:41 --> 00:23:42
			we said he is jaheer al-sawt He

00:23:42 --> 00:23:45
			had a loud voice And so what do

00:23:45 --> 00:23:47
			you think it did to him When he

00:23:47 --> 00:23:51
			heard the ayah revealed Ya ayyuhallatheena aamanu laa

00:23:51 --> 00:23:54
			tarfa'u aswaatakum fawqa sawt al-nabi wala

00:23:54 --> 00:23:58
			tajharu lahu bilqawli kajahri ba'dikum riba'dun an tahbata

00:23:58 --> 00:24:00
			a'malukum wa antum laa tash'uroon O you

00:24:00 --> 00:24:02
			who believe, don't raise your voices Over the

00:24:02 --> 00:24:04
			voice of the messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi

00:24:04 --> 00:24:06
			wa sallam Right?

00:24:06 --> 00:24:08
			Don't compete with him in the volume of

00:24:08 --> 00:24:11
			your voice Or in speaking over him sallallahu

00:24:11 --> 00:24:13
			alayhi wa sallam Or else your deeds will

00:24:13 --> 00:24:15
			be nullified And you would not have even

00:24:15 --> 00:24:18
			known wa antum laa tash'uroon Thabit heard

00:24:18 --> 00:24:22
			this ayah revealed And Thabit radiallahu anhu crumbled

00:24:23 --> 00:24:25
			Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Noticed him missing

00:24:25 --> 00:24:28
			for a while So he said to the

00:24:28 --> 00:24:29
			companions, what happened Where is Thabit?

00:24:30 --> 00:24:31
			They said, Ya Rasulullah, he is at home

00:24:31 --> 00:24:34
			crying And when we asked him why he

00:24:34 --> 00:24:35
			is crying He said, I'm done I'm done

00:24:37 --> 00:24:40
			I'm done Like, this is all over for

00:24:40 --> 00:24:41
			me I'm just going to sit here and

00:24:41 --> 00:24:45
			cry Until the end And so the Prophet

00:24:45 --> 00:24:48
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Sends a messenger to

00:24:48 --> 00:24:51
			him first And asks him, what's wrong Ya

00:24:51 --> 00:24:52
			Thabit?

00:24:53 --> 00:24:55
			So he says, ana kuntu arfa'u sawti

00:24:55 --> 00:24:58
			fawqa sawtihi sallallahu alayhi wa sallam I used

00:24:58 --> 00:25:00
			to raise my voice over his voice Fa

00:25:00 --> 00:25:02
			ana min ahlin naar So I'm certainly from

00:25:02 --> 00:25:05
			the people of hellfire There is no way

00:25:05 --> 00:25:08
			that I'm going to survive this Because I'm

00:25:08 --> 00:25:12
			certainly from the people of hellfire And then

00:25:12 --> 00:25:14
			it says about the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:25:14 --> 00:25:16
			sallam Tafaqadahu sallallahu alayhi wa sallam The Prophet

00:25:16 --> 00:25:17
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam missed him Like, where

00:25:17 --> 00:25:17
			is Thabit?

00:25:17 --> 00:25:19
			So when the messenger came back and told

00:25:19 --> 00:25:21
			the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam That Thabit

00:25:21 --> 00:25:23
			says that this verse was revealed for me

00:25:23 --> 00:25:26
			Certainly it was revealed for me And I

00:25:26 --> 00:25:27
			am done, and I'm from the people of

00:25:27 --> 00:25:30
			hellfire My deeds are all nullified at this

00:25:30 --> 00:25:32
			point The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said

00:25:32 --> 00:25:35
			Go back to him Wa qullahu bal huwa

00:25:35 --> 00:25:36
			min ahl al-jannah Go tell him that

00:25:36 --> 00:25:40
			rather you're from the people of paradise So

00:25:40 --> 00:25:44
			the guarantee of Jannah comes to him As

00:25:44 --> 00:25:47
			a result of his fear That an ayah

00:25:47 --> 00:25:51
			had been revealed for his destruction RadhiAllahu ta

00:25:51 --> 00:25:53
			'ala anhu Sounds very Hudhayf ibn al-Yaman

00:25:53 --> 00:25:54
			like radhiAllahu anhu, right?

00:25:55 --> 00:25:58
			That fear of hypocrisy Where he thought Even

00:25:58 --> 00:26:00
			though I raised my voice for the Prophet

00:26:00 --> 00:26:03
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Naturally the Prophet sallallahu

00:26:03 --> 00:26:04
			alayhi wa sallam spoke low The Prophet sallallahu

00:26:04 --> 00:26:08
			alayhi wa sallam was shy My voice was

00:26:08 --> 00:26:10
			louder than his voice And in this the

00:26:10 --> 00:26:13
			Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam guaranteed him You

00:26:13 --> 00:26:15
			are not from the people of fire Rather

00:26:15 --> 00:26:20
			you are from the people of Jannah So

00:26:20 --> 00:26:22
			he said idhab ilayhi Go back to him

00:26:22 --> 00:26:23
			Say to him innaka lasta min ahl al

00:26:23 --> 00:26:25
			-nar walakin min ahl al-jannah You're rather

00:26:25 --> 00:26:28
			from the people of paradise This is in

00:26:28 --> 00:26:31
			Sahih al-Bukhari Another incident where he also

00:26:31 --> 00:26:34
			thought he was destroyed Where Allah subhanahu wa

00:26:34 --> 00:26:36
			ta'ala revealed Inna allaha la yuhibbu kullu

00:26:36 --> 00:26:39
			muqtalin fakhur Allah does not like prideful boastful

00:26:39 --> 00:26:45
			people So Thabit thought I'm done Because I

00:26:45 --> 00:26:48
			have a lot I mean he stands and

00:26:48 --> 00:26:50
			speaks with the pride of the Ansar And

00:26:50 --> 00:26:52
			now with the pride of the Messenger of

00:26:52 --> 00:26:55
			Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam So the Prophet

00:26:55 --> 00:26:57
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam again Misses Thabit Where

00:26:57 --> 00:26:58
			is Thabit?

00:26:58 --> 00:27:00
			He said Ya Rasulullah he's at home crying

00:27:00 --> 00:27:04
			again This time the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:27:04 --> 00:27:07
			sallam went to him directly Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:27:07 --> 00:27:10
			wa sallam entered upon him And he said

00:27:10 --> 00:27:11
			what's going on O Thabit?

00:27:11 --> 00:27:12
			What's your problem?

00:27:13 --> 00:27:16
			He said Ya Rasulullah inni akhsha an akuna

00:27:16 --> 00:27:18
			qad halaktu He said Ya Rasulullah I fear

00:27:18 --> 00:27:23
			that I've been destroyed Yanhanallahu an nuhibba an

00:27:23 --> 00:27:25
			nuhmada bima la naf'al Allah subhanahu wa

00:27:25 --> 00:27:28
			ta'ala prohibits us From wanting to be

00:27:28 --> 00:27:30
			praised for things that we did not do

00:27:30 --> 00:27:34
			Wa ajiduni uhibbu alhamd And I see myself

00:27:34 --> 00:27:36
			I love to be praised SubhanAllah he's talking

00:27:36 --> 00:27:39
			about his inner Remember a sincere person is

00:27:39 --> 00:27:42
			harder on themselves So he doesn't say alhamdulillah

00:27:42 --> 00:27:44
			I don't like No he's saying look I

00:27:44 --> 00:27:46
			find this inside of myself That sometimes I

00:27:46 --> 00:27:48
			like to be praised And he says wa

00:27:48 --> 00:27:52
			yanhanallahu anil khuyala'i wa inni mra'un

00:27:52 --> 00:27:56
			uhibbu aljama' And Allah azawajal forbids us from

00:27:56 --> 00:27:59
			boastfulness Now I'm a person who likes beautiful

00:27:59 --> 00:28:02
			things I dress a certain way Comes with

00:28:02 --> 00:28:05
			the office of the spokesperson of the Prophet

00:28:05 --> 00:28:07
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Like I like nice

00:28:07 --> 00:28:10
			things I like to be praised And he

00:28:10 --> 00:28:14
			says and I'm done I don't see any

00:28:14 --> 00:28:18
			way out for myself wa yanhanallahu an narfa

00:28:18 --> 00:28:20
			'a aswatana fabkasawtik And Allah subhanahu wa ta

00:28:20 --> 00:28:23
			'ala Prohibits us from raising our voice over

00:28:23 --> 00:28:25
			yours wa ana rajulun rafia'us sawt And

00:28:25 --> 00:28:27
			I'm a person who has a very loud

00:28:27 --> 00:28:30
			voice The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam laughed

00:28:31 --> 00:28:32
			And then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:28:32 --> 00:28:34
			gave him a very specific bushra So it's

00:28:34 --> 00:28:37
			not just the glad tidings of Jannah He

00:28:37 --> 00:28:40
			gives him a more specific glad tidings He

00:28:40 --> 00:28:43
			says ya thabit ama tarda an ta'isha

00:28:43 --> 00:28:48
			hameedan wa tuqtala shaheedan wa tadkhulil jannah Oh

00:28:48 --> 00:28:52
			thabit aren't you pleased That you will live

00:28:52 --> 00:28:55
			a praiseworthy life So he's answering exactly what

00:28:55 --> 00:28:57
			it is ta'isha hameedan You'll live a

00:28:57 --> 00:29:01
			praiseworthy life And he says wa tuqtala shaheedan

00:29:01 --> 00:29:03
			And you'll be killed as a martyr May

00:29:03 --> 00:29:05
			Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala accept all of

00:29:05 --> 00:29:07
			the shuhada from Gaza and beyond And may

00:29:07 --> 00:29:10
			Allah azawajal grant us the reward of shahada

00:29:10 --> 00:29:12
			Allahumma ameen Wa tadkhulil jannah And you will

00:29:12 --> 00:29:15
			enter into paradise So he gave him three

00:29:15 --> 00:29:18
			glad tidings And thabit radiallahu ta'ala anhu

00:29:19 --> 00:29:21
			Was so happy, was so pleased And he

00:29:21 --> 00:29:23
			would hang on to that message from the

00:29:23 --> 00:29:24
			Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam For the rest

00:29:24 --> 00:29:26
			of his life So he would remember what

00:29:26 --> 00:29:27
			the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said to

00:29:27 --> 00:29:28
			him Basically the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:29:28 --> 00:29:30
			told him You'll live a good life But

00:29:30 --> 00:29:31
			you're going to be killed as a martyr

00:29:31 --> 00:29:36
			And you're going to enter into Jannah And

00:29:36 --> 00:29:40
			so what happens Prior to the battle of

00:29:40 --> 00:29:43
			Al Yamama This is actually the only documented

00:29:43 --> 00:29:46
			incident That we have for certainty That I

00:29:46 --> 00:29:48
			know of, Allah knows best Of the Prophet

00:29:48 --> 00:29:50
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam actually meeting Musaylim al

00:29:50 --> 00:29:54
			-Kaddhab So before Musaylim announced his prophethood from

00:29:54 --> 00:29:57
			afar And Musaylim started his fitna Which undoubtedly

00:29:57 --> 00:30:00
			grew worse After the death of the Prophet

00:30:00 --> 00:30:04
			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Musaylim al-Kaddhab Ubaidullah

00:30:04 --> 00:30:07
			ibn Abdullah ibn Utbah He narrates that Musaylim

00:30:07 --> 00:30:11
			al-Kaddhab Came to Al Medina And this

00:30:11 --> 00:30:13
			is early on in his fitna Before his

00:30:13 --> 00:30:17
			fitna really took the next step And he

00:30:17 --> 00:30:19
			says that we were informed that he was

00:30:19 --> 00:30:21
			staying At the house of the daughter of

00:30:21 --> 00:30:25
			Al Harith ibn Quraiz And there was some

00:30:25 --> 00:30:29
			sort of relationship there So the Prophet sallallahu

00:30:29 --> 00:30:31
			alayhi wa sallam And this is how the

00:30:31 --> 00:30:35
			narration actually goes فأتاه رسول الله صلى الله

00:30:35 --> 00:30:37
			عليه وسلم ومعه ثابت بن قيس بن الشماس

00:30:37 --> 00:30:40
			وهو الذي يقال له خطيب رسول الله صلى

00:30:40 --> 00:30:42
			الله عليه وسلم The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:30:42 --> 00:30:45
			sallam came to Musaylim al-Kaddhab And he

00:30:45 --> 00:30:47
			had with him Thabit ibn Qais And Thabit

00:30:47 --> 00:30:49
			ibn Qais is the one that we called

00:30:49 --> 00:30:51
			خطيب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم The

00:30:51 --> 00:30:53
			spokesperson of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:30:53 --> 00:30:57
			وفي يد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

00:30:57 --> 00:30:59
			قضيب And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam

00:30:59 --> 00:31:01
			had a stick in his hand So the

00:31:01 --> 00:31:04
			Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam spoke to Musaylima

00:31:04 --> 00:31:09
			And Musaylima said to him إن شئت خليت

00:31:09 --> 00:31:14
			بيننا وبين الأمر ثم جعلته لك بعدك أو

00:31:14 --> 00:31:17
			جعلته لنا بعدك He said that if you

00:31:17 --> 00:31:19
			want We're not going to get involved right

00:31:19 --> 00:31:23
			now in your leadership But after you're done

00:31:23 --> 00:31:26
			Meaning after you die Then the rule will

00:31:26 --> 00:31:29
			be transferred to us So Musaylima clearly is

00:31:29 --> 00:31:31
			asking the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam For

00:31:31 --> 00:31:32
			political power Which of course is going to

00:31:32 --> 00:31:35
			drive his claim to prophethood later on But

00:31:35 --> 00:31:36
			he says to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:31:36 --> 00:31:38
			sallam Look if you want We'll leave you

00:31:38 --> 00:31:40
			alone for now We won't ask for any

00:31:40 --> 00:31:42
			power right now But you need to tell

00:31:42 --> 00:31:44
			the people to follow me after you pass

00:31:44 --> 00:31:47
			away The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam responded

00:31:47 --> 00:31:50
			to him And he said لو سألتني هذا

00:31:50 --> 00:31:53
			القضيب If you were to ask me for

00:31:53 --> 00:31:55
			this stick I would not give it to

00:31:55 --> 00:31:58
			you I wouldn't even give you a stick

00:31:59 --> 00:32:03
			And he says وإني لأراك الذي أريت فيه

00:32:03 --> 00:32:06
			ما أريت And I think that you are

00:32:06 --> 00:32:08
			the one that I saw in my dream

00:32:08 --> 00:32:11
			And he said sallallahu alayhi wa sallam وهذا

00:32:11 --> 00:32:13
			ثابت ابن قيس And this is Thabit ibn

00:32:13 --> 00:32:15
			Qais And he will speak to you from

00:32:15 --> 00:32:17
			here on out Meaning Thabit will speak on

00:32:17 --> 00:32:18
			my behalf And I don't want to talk

00:32:18 --> 00:32:20
			to you So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:32:20 --> 00:32:22
			sallam saw and sensed the evil from Musaylima

00:32:22 --> 00:32:24
			al-Kadhab But Musaylima had not taken that

00:32:24 --> 00:32:27
			next step yet And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:32:27 --> 00:32:29
			wa sallam left Thabit ibn Qais to actually

00:32:29 --> 00:32:33
			continue the conversation With Musaylima al-Kadhab And

00:32:33 --> 00:32:35
			then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam left

00:32:35 --> 00:32:38
			So Thabit ibn Qais confronted Musaylima al-Kadhab

00:32:38 --> 00:32:41
			And basically told him off until Musaylima left

00:32:41 --> 00:32:44
			And then he asked the Prophet sallallahu alayhi

00:32:44 --> 00:32:46
			wa sallam what the dream was So the

00:32:46 --> 00:32:48
			Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam says بَيْنَ أَنَا

00:32:48 --> 00:32:53
			نَائِمٌ أُرِيْتُ أَنَا وُضِعَ فِي يَدِي سِوَارًا مِن

00:32:53 --> 00:32:54
			ذَهَبٍ He said sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that

00:32:54 --> 00:32:56
			while I was sleeping I saw that I

00:32:56 --> 00:33:00
			was granted in my hand Two golden bracelets

00:33:00 --> 00:33:04
			And he said that I hated them كَرِهْتُهُمَا

00:33:04 --> 00:33:08
			I hated them And because كَرِهْتُهُمَا I hated

00:33:08 --> 00:33:14
			them فَأُذِنَ لِي فَنَفَخْتُهُمَا فَطَارًا Allah azawajal gave

00:33:14 --> 00:33:16
			me permission and I blew on them and

00:33:16 --> 00:33:18
			they flew away So two bracelets were in

00:33:18 --> 00:33:20
			my hand and I hated the way they

00:33:20 --> 00:33:22
			looked And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gave

00:33:22 --> 00:33:24
			me permission, I blew on them And they

00:33:24 --> 00:33:27
			flew away And the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa

00:33:27 --> 00:33:30
			sallam said I interpreted that as two liars

00:33:31 --> 00:33:35
			That have risen from my ummah Two liars

00:33:35 --> 00:33:37
			that have risen from my ummah And he

00:33:37 --> 00:33:39
			said one of them is al-Aswad al

00:33:39 --> 00:33:41
			-Ansi And the other one who is in

00:33:41 --> 00:33:42
			Yemen, a false prophet in Yemen And the

00:33:42 --> 00:33:45
			other one is Musaylima al-Kadhab So he

00:33:45 --> 00:33:48
			was privy, Thabit ibn Qais was privy To

00:33:48 --> 00:33:50
			the fitna of Musaylima al-Kadhab This man

00:33:50 --> 00:33:54
			who would claim prophethood Before the Prophet sallallahu

00:33:54 --> 00:33:57
			alayhi wa sallam passed away And when the

00:33:57 --> 00:33:59
			Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam passed away Thabit

00:33:59 --> 00:34:03
			ibn Qais assumed the position of the khateeb

00:34:03 --> 00:34:05
			Of Abu Bakr as-Siddiq radiyaAllahu ta'ala

00:34:05 --> 00:34:07
			al'anhu So he became the spokesperson of

00:34:07 --> 00:34:10
			Abu Bakr So it's really beautiful subhanAllah He

00:34:10 --> 00:34:13
			combined being the khateeb of the Ansar The

00:34:13 --> 00:34:15
			spokesperson of the Ansar Then the spokesperson of

00:34:15 --> 00:34:16
			Rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Then the spokesperson

00:34:16 --> 00:34:18
			of Khalifatul Rasulillah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam And

00:34:18 --> 00:34:20
			it was understood that he will be the

00:34:20 --> 00:34:23
			spokesperson Of the Muslims in all of their

00:34:23 --> 00:34:26
			affairs Now when the battle of Yamama comes

00:34:26 --> 00:34:30
			He goes out to fight amongst the sahaba

00:34:30 --> 00:34:35
			That would fight against Musaylima al-Kadhab And

00:34:35 --> 00:34:36
			Abu Bakr as-Siddiq radiyaAllahu ta'ala al

00:34:36 --> 00:34:39
			'anhu Put him in charge of the Ansar

00:34:40 --> 00:34:42
			Because they would still be divided into battalions

00:34:42 --> 00:34:45
			obviously In the battlefield So he put him

00:34:45 --> 00:34:47
			in charge of the Ansar So he's the

00:34:47 --> 00:34:50
			spokesperson of the Khalifa And he's now in

00:34:50 --> 00:34:52
			charge of the Ansar And Anas ibn Malik

00:34:52 --> 00:34:55
			radiyaAllahu ta'ala al'anhu He narrates subhanAllah

00:34:55 --> 00:34:58
			the last moments of Thabit ibn Qais radiyaAllahu

00:34:58 --> 00:34:59
			ta'ala al'anhu In this regard He

00:34:59 --> 00:35:03
			said that while we were preparing for the

00:35:03 --> 00:35:08
			battle I noticed Thabit was missing So he

00:35:08 --> 00:35:12
			said that I went to see him And

00:35:12 --> 00:35:16
			he was applying وَهُوَ يَتَحَنَّطُ He was applying

00:35:16 --> 00:35:18
			hanoot Which is of course what you apply

00:35:18 --> 00:35:21
			to the dead body To his body So

00:35:21 --> 00:35:22
			he said I caught him while he was

00:35:22 --> 00:35:24
			applying to his thighs So he was applying

00:35:24 --> 00:35:28
			to his entire body And I told him

00:35:28 --> 00:35:34
			Oh my uncle What's holding you back from

00:35:34 --> 00:35:34
			coming?

00:35:35 --> 00:35:38
			And he said I'm coming oh my nephew

00:35:38 --> 00:35:39
			So Anas radiyaAllahu ta'ala al'anhu said

00:35:39 --> 00:35:42
			This was my conversation with him He said

00:35:42 --> 00:35:45
			then he did something very strange He finished

00:35:45 --> 00:35:48
			the hanoot on his body And then he

00:35:48 --> 00:35:51
			basically wore two white garments Like a kafan

00:35:52 --> 00:35:55
			So his war outfit On the battle of

00:35:55 --> 00:35:58
			Yamama was his kafan Were two white shrouds

00:35:59 --> 00:36:01
			That he wore on that day RadiyaAllahu ta

00:36:01 --> 00:36:03
			'ala al'anhu SubhanAllah as if he is

00:36:03 --> 00:36:07
			living to The promise of the Prophet ﷺ

00:36:08 --> 00:36:10
			And then Anas radiyaAllahu ta'ala al'anhu

00:36:10 --> 00:36:11
			As they were coming out Anas radiyaAllahu ta

00:36:11 --> 00:36:14
			'ala al'anhu mentioned to him That some

00:36:14 --> 00:36:18
			people Fled from the battlefield Very natural that

00:36:18 --> 00:36:20
			anytime you see an army that large That's

00:36:20 --> 00:36:23
			bigger than yours Some people turn back from

00:36:23 --> 00:36:25
			the battlefield And Thabit radiyaAllahu ta'ala al

00:36:25 --> 00:36:29
			'anhu Said ها كذا عن وجوهنا حتى نضارب

00:36:29 --> 00:36:32
			القوم He said Then move from my face

00:36:32 --> 00:36:34
			So that we can fight these people I

00:36:34 --> 00:36:35
			don't want to see these people That are

00:36:35 --> 00:36:38
			fleeing away from the battlefield Let's go forward

00:36:38 --> 00:36:40
			Let's fight And so he assumed the front

00:36:40 --> 00:36:42
			line And he said clear the way for

00:36:42 --> 00:36:46
			me And as the battle started He looked

00:36:46 --> 00:36:48
			at the companions And this is very powerful

00:36:48 --> 00:36:50
			He says ما ها كذا كنا نفعل مع

00:36:50 --> 00:36:53
			رسول الله ﷺ This isn't the way we

00:36:53 --> 00:36:54
			used to fight When the Prophet ﷺ was

00:36:54 --> 00:36:57
			amongst us You've got to fight with more

00:36:57 --> 00:36:59
			energy Fight with more sincerity Fight with more

00:36:59 --> 00:37:04
			determination And he says that What miserable ways

00:37:04 --> 00:37:06
			you've learned from your enemies This is not

00:37:06 --> 00:37:09
			how we fight Fight harder So he was

00:37:09 --> 00:37:13
			pushing the people حَرِّضُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَى الْقِتَالِ He

00:37:13 --> 00:37:16
			was pushing the people to fight And as

00:37:16 --> 00:37:18
			he was going forward Anas radiyaAllahu ta'ala

00:37:18 --> 00:37:20
			al'anhu Describes the scene I mean imagine

00:37:20 --> 00:37:22
			as a horseman And he has this two

00:37:22 --> 00:37:24
			white shrouds And he says that he was

00:37:24 --> 00:37:25
			right and left In the battlefield of Al

00:37:25 --> 00:37:29
			Yamamah And he kept on saying then أُفٍّ

00:37:29 --> 00:37:33
			لِهَٰ أُولَٰئِ وَلِمَا يَعْبُدُونَ وَأُفٍّ لِهَٰ أُولَٰئِ وَلِمَا

00:37:33 --> 00:37:36
			يَسْنَعُونَ He said may these people perish Meaning

00:37:36 --> 00:37:38
			the enemy For that which they worship Besides

00:37:38 --> 00:37:40
			Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala And he said

00:37:40 --> 00:37:43
			And what is it with my people That

00:37:43 --> 00:37:45
			they have this slowness In that which they

00:37:45 --> 00:37:47
			used to do And he made a dua

00:37:47 --> 00:37:52
			اللهم إني أبرأ إليك مما جاء به هؤلاء

00:37:52 --> 00:37:56
			وأعتذر من صنيع هؤلاء Oh Allah I free

00:37:56 --> 00:38:00
			myself I disassociate myself From what these people

00:38:00 --> 00:38:04
			worship And I disassociate myself From what these

00:38:04 --> 00:38:09
			people do يَا مَعْشَرَ الْأَنصَارِ Oh Ansar خَلُّوا

00:38:09 --> 00:38:14
			سَنَنِي لَعَلِّي أَصْلَى بِحَرْبِهَا سَعَى Clear my way

00:38:14 --> 00:38:16
			So that I can spend this hour In

00:38:16 --> 00:38:19
			the heat Let me face the heat for

00:38:19 --> 00:38:21
			a moment Meaning no one Go in front

00:38:21 --> 00:38:24
			of me in this battle Put me in

00:38:24 --> 00:38:25
			the front line In front of the enemy

00:38:25 --> 00:38:27
			And so he kept clearing the way And

00:38:27 --> 00:38:31
			going forward رضي الله تعالى عنه Until he

00:38:31 --> 00:38:33
			was struck As he was on his horse

00:38:33 --> 00:38:35
			رضي الله تعالى عنه And he was a

00:38:35 --> 00:38:37
			shaheed On the day of Yamama Already wearing

00:38:37 --> 00:38:40
			the shroud of shahada And already having applied

00:38:40 --> 00:38:44
			to himself The hanout The scent of the

00:38:44 --> 00:38:46
			deceased believer May Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

00:38:46 --> 00:38:48
			Be pleased with him And accept him as

00:38:48 --> 00:38:50
			a martyr In accordance with The promise of

00:38:50 --> 00:38:54
			the Prophet ﷺ Allahumma ameen But it's not

00:38:54 --> 00:38:58
			over One of the strangest cases So we

00:38:58 --> 00:39:01
			say that khul'a The case of khul

00:39:01 --> 00:39:04
			'a The divorce initiated by the woman The

00:39:04 --> 00:39:06
			first legal precedent we have is from The

00:39:06 --> 00:39:10
			story of Thabit ibn Qais He also has

00:39:10 --> 00:39:15
			a story after his death That legally gave

00:39:15 --> 00:39:18
			the scholar Something to ponder upon So here's

00:39:18 --> 00:39:21
			what happens After he was martyred After he

00:39:21 --> 00:39:24
			was martyred He shows up in a dream

00:39:25 --> 00:39:28
			To one of the Muslims And he says

00:39:28 --> 00:39:32
			to this dream He says in this dream

00:39:32 --> 00:39:35
			to this Muslim He says that I had

00:39:35 --> 00:39:38
			my armor on that day I had my

00:39:38 --> 00:39:39
			shield on that day My dir'a on

00:39:39 --> 00:39:43
			that day And he says that one of

00:39:43 --> 00:39:45
			the men Picked it up One of the

00:39:45 --> 00:39:48
			men picked up my shield After Yamamah Because

00:39:48 --> 00:39:49
			he was struck on a horse And he

00:39:49 --> 00:39:51
			fell from his horse And his shield fell

00:39:51 --> 00:39:54
			So one of the men picked up my

00:39:54 --> 00:39:58
			shield And he says إِنَّهَا فِي قَدْرٍ تَحْتَ

00:39:58 --> 00:40:02
			إِيكَافٍ بِمَكَانِ كَذَا وَكَذَا He said listen It

00:40:02 --> 00:40:05
			is right at this place Under a pot

00:40:05 --> 00:40:09
			in this house So he gives him in

00:40:09 --> 00:40:11
			the dream The exact location of his shield

00:40:11 --> 00:40:15
			And he says What I want you to

00:40:15 --> 00:40:17
			do Is I want you to go to

00:40:17 --> 00:40:18
			Khalid ibn Walid رضي الله تعالى عنه Because

00:40:18 --> 00:40:21
			he is the commander of the army And

00:40:21 --> 00:40:23
			tell Khalid رضي الله تعالى عنه What I

00:40:23 --> 00:40:26
			just told you And tell Khalid to go

00:40:26 --> 00:40:29
			to خليفة رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم

00:40:29 --> 00:40:32
			أبو بكر الصديق رضي الله تعالى عنه And

00:40:32 --> 00:40:35
			tell Abu Bakr This is a very specific

00:40:35 --> 00:40:38
			dream Tell Abu Bakr That my shield is

00:40:38 --> 00:40:39
			in the house of so and so And

00:40:39 --> 00:40:41
			it is under the pot of this man

00:40:41 --> 00:40:44
			And the man presumably would have taken it

00:40:44 --> 00:40:45
			Because he thought it was one of the

00:40:45 --> 00:40:48
			spoils of war And SubhanAllah In the dream

00:40:48 --> 00:40:50
			he says I have a debt to pay

00:40:50 --> 00:40:53
			I owe so and so some money Ask

00:40:53 --> 00:40:56
			Abu Bakr الصديق رضي الله تعالى عنه To

00:40:56 --> 00:41:00
			retrieve that shield And then to sell it

00:41:00 --> 00:41:01
			And then to use that money to pay

00:41:01 --> 00:41:04
			off my debt It is a long dream

00:41:04 --> 00:41:08
			Long narration Very detailed Very specific So Khalid

00:41:08 --> 00:41:09
			رضي الله عنه Comes to Abu Bakr الصديق

00:41:09 --> 00:41:11
			رضي الله عنه He says look One of

00:41:11 --> 00:41:13
			my warriors saw Thabit ibn Qays In a

00:41:13 --> 00:41:15
			dream And this is what he said He

00:41:15 --> 00:41:18
			said my shield is gone And it's in

00:41:18 --> 00:41:20
			the house of so and so Under the

00:41:20 --> 00:41:23
			pot Exactly in this location And Khalid رضي

00:41:23 --> 00:41:25
			الله عنه says Thabit's shield was not found

00:41:25 --> 00:41:27
			amongst us Meaning like his shield was indeed

00:41:27 --> 00:41:29
			missing And he had a very prominent shield

00:41:29 --> 00:41:31
			رضي الله تعالى عنه That he used to

00:41:31 --> 00:41:33
			go to war with So Abu Bakr الصديق

00:41:33 --> 00:41:36
			رضي الله تعالى عنه Said I don't see

00:41:36 --> 00:41:39
			this except as Allah SubhanAllah Is sending us

00:41:39 --> 00:41:41
			a message through Thabit They went to the

00:41:41 --> 00:41:43
			house of that man Looked right under that

00:41:43 --> 00:41:45
			pot And they found the shield of Thabit

00:41:45 --> 00:41:47
			ibn Qays رضي الله تعالى عنه Abu Bakr

00:41:47 --> 00:41:53
			الصديق رضي الله تعالى عنه Basically You know

00:41:53 --> 00:41:55
			Sold it Took the money Paid off his

00:41:55 --> 00:41:57
			debt And they say that this is the

00:41:57 --> 00:42:00
			only case The legal precedent Of a wasiyah

00:42:00 --> 00:42:03
			Of a will That was given through a

00:42:03 --> 00:42:05
			dream Was Thabit ibn Qays رضي الله عنه

00:42:05 --> 00:42:07
			And Abu Bakr الصديق رضي الله تعالى عنه

00:42:07 --> 00:42:10
			Because Abu Bakr acted upon that dream And

00:42:10 --> 00:42:12
			found it to indeed be the case رضي

00:42:12 --> 00:42:14
			الله تعالى عنه And so as Ibn Qayyim

00:42:14 --> 00:42:16
			رحمه الله said The only dead man's will

00:42:16 --> 00:42:18
			who was fulfilled Like we don't know of

00:42:18 --> 00:42:21
			another narration like this Where a dead man

00:42:21 --> 00:42:23
			showed up And gave a will And the

00:42:23 --> 00:42:25
			khalifa acted upon that will Like Abu Bakr

00:42:25 --> 00:42:27
			صديق رضي الله عنه did And found it

00:42:27 --> 00:42:30
			to indeed be true رضي الله تعالى عنه

00:42:30 --> 00:42:33
			And subhanAllah After he passed away And after

00:42:33 --> 00:42:36
			he was a shaheed All of his children

00:42:37 --> 00:42:40
			Were shuhada In Waq'at al-Hara Which

00:42:40 --> 00:42:43
			was the massacre of al-Madina Al-Munawwara

00:42:43 --> 00:42:44
			The one that Anas ibn Malik رضي الله

00:42:44 --> 00:42:47
			تعالى عنه Lost most of his descendants through

00:42:47 --> 00:42:50
			So all of his children Were also shuhada

00:42:50 --> 00:42:52
			on that day Muhammad and Abdurrahman and Zaynab

00:42:52 --> 00:42:54
			And so on and so forth May Allah

00:42:54 --> 00:42:56
			subhanahu wa ta'ala accept them all As

00:42:56 --> 00:42:58
			shuhada And be pleased with them all And

00:42:58 --> 00:43:01
			be pleased with Thabit ibn Qays رضي الله

00:43:01 --> 00:43:02
			تعالى عنه And be pleased with all the

00:43:02 --> 00:43:04
			companions Of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم

00:43:04 --> 00:43:09
			And the shuhada May Allah gather us with

00:43:09 --> 00:43:10
			them May Allah gather us with them InshaAllah

00:43:10 --> 00:43:13
			ta'ala next week we will continue Along

00:43:13 --> 00:43:15
			the same lines And talking about this noble

00:43:15 --> 00:43:17
			set of companions وصلى الله وسلم وبركة على

00:43:17 --> 00:43:20
			نبينا محمد وعلى آله وصحبه أجمعين
