How do how do we know if our
heart is blackened, and how can we fix
that? You'll never know.
It's like most things in life.
Do we know ours
our good deeds are accepted?
Do we know our sins are forgiven? No.
The same way you will never know if
your heart is pure. You will never know
if you have achieved sincerity in anything. But
you continue
to strive and struggle
towards the path of purification.
That's why it's a path.
And it ends and at the end of
that path is Allah
and Jannah. And if you deviate, there's Jannah.
And so the hope is you constantly keep
coming back to that path.
And part of being on that path is
purification of the heart.
And so the things that remove sins that
we discussed yesterday Yeah.
Are part and parcel of how
you cleanse your heart. Right?
But like a point that I want to
make here is we should be able like
we should be aware of ourselves. Most people
are not aware
of what's going on inside. Right?
To be able to slow down,
take a deep breath, and think about
where I'm at right now. Right? You're not
always gonna be up here.
There will be lots of times when you're
quite down here.
You need to be able to know when
you're here
and when you're here.
So that each moment
of these two,
you know,
days one day is a good day, the
next day being the bad day you need
to be able to know how you're gonna
function in each day.
So
when you're down here you should be
gathering your strength to be up here again.
But that doesn't mean you don't do the
bare bone basics.
And it also means you don't let yourself
completely go.
Because one of the greatest
actions of shaitan is to say, if you
did this you might as well just
not do anything
or just keep going
in sin. Right? Sure, I started talking to
a girl.
Now this is gonna lead to
more.
Right? But part of that purification of the
heart is to stop yourself at that point.
Don't let it go further.
Right?
Don't let it proceed to that which comes
later.
So being able to gather your strength at
a low point
to work towards a higher point is important.
Right? And the same goes with, like,
you know, the same goes with, trying to
purify your heart. You're like, sometimes you might
feel like there's nowhere to
go. How am I supposed to get better?
And obviously you need to renew your hope.
Part of that is recognizing
the different things that
would cleanse you from sin.
And we can say that
something very unique is that punishments
in this dunya are a way of Allah
forgiving you in the Hereafter.
Right? So,
we see
trials and tribulations and this dunya to be
negative
when,
we should see everything in essence to be
positive.
Everything in essence is positive. Even though the
the appearance of it is very ugly, it's
distasteful,
but there is goodness. In the grander scheme
of things, everything is good.
Whether we understand it, we don't understand it,
there is goodness. The bigger picture is always
bright
even if there's dots within the painting that
are black.
And those and they are black. They look
black. They are black.
On the grander scenes things, the picture is
bright
because it's because it's the picture of God.
Right?
There,
you know, that's one perspective when you're going
through difficulty.
Sometimes sins another thing that,
we don't
think of enough
is sins don't need to be what darkens
your heart but rather they can be what
lightens your heart.
Sins can be blessings.
You just have to figure out how they're
a blessing.
Let's think about that.
How can a sin be a blessing?
Sins can be blessings
if they turn you back to Allah, if
they stir fear,
they stir love.
If they bring you back to Allah, it
was a blessing. You can be the greatest
of blessings at times.
Most peep many people, they find their
their awakening, their Youqawah,
within a sin.
Sometimes they're in the middle of a sin.
They'll say, you Allah, where where am I?
How how many people do we know like
that? I know there's one brother who used
to
be very high up in the entertainment industry.
Very very high up. And this one time
he was sitting in
his condo on the top floor.
I'm not sure what that condo is called.
What's that one called? The
one that's on the top floor, and it's,
the biggest Like the suites, like the master
suite maybe kind of something like that. There's
a specific name for it. But anyways, it
has a specific name, the one that's on
the top and it's really big, you know.
He says that he was sitting there and
he was, like, drugged up after, like, a
private party at nighttime. And there's, like, random
girls coming into the house.
And
they're they'd wanna take pictures because it's the
top floor, etcetera, etcetera.
And,
he says, at that point, I realized that
many of these girls are Israelis.
And he's like, me as a Palestinian
man, I how did I get this far
that I don't even have enough ezih for
my people in Versa? And he's like, that's
when I realized I have hit rock bottom.
And then he changed his life around. But
sins can be blessings
if if you allow them to be
if you let it turn you back to
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
It's when you continue in that sin and
you don't let it lead to greatness. So
say for instance you're stuck in a pattern
and it seems to be
a compulsive pattern for you.
It looks like an addiction. Might not be.
It looks like one. And you're stuck there.
And you're telling yourself, this has darkened my
heart. There's no way out.
If within this cycle of sin,
each time you finish
you do tawba and it's a sincere one
and you push yourself to greater heights and
goodness outside of that,
that's fechunas.
That's understanding yourself.
That you allowed a sin to propel yourself
to goodness in many other ways.
So that in the grander scale of things
you did more good than evil.
In alhasarat
Good deeds push out sins.
So,
sometimes
it's not about addressing something straight forward directly,
you know, in a in a direct way,
but rather it's it's changing the environment in
which it exists.
So you started doing more good. That made
you feel good. Allah blessed you to do
even more good.
He put even more sweetness in your heart
through goodness. And there comes a point where
this sin in comparison to everything around you
becomes so small.
It becomes weak
in your heart and you're able to overcome
it.
