Navaid Aziz – Al Shamaail Al Muhammadiyyah #07

			Bismillah al Rahman al Rahim al hamdu Lillahi Rabbil alameen wa sallahu wa Sallim wa barik ala
nabina Muhammad wa ala alihi wa sahbihi as you may in my bad, my dear brothers and sisters salaam
aleikum, wa Rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh. Hello, and welcome to class number seven of a Shama in
mohammedia. I know last week we mentioned that we would talk about the ring of the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, but I had a change of heart and I hope that's okay with all of you.
That because it's the last 10 nights of Ramadan, I thought we were focused on the rebirth of the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, and hopefully that will inspire us and grant us a better
		

			understanding of what to do. So let us begin we're going to be starting for those of you that are
following along with chapter number 40. So I know we've skipped quite a bit, but tonight we'll be
doing chapter number 40, which is the beginning of Hadith number 261. On the worship of the prophets
of Allah while he was set up, call and widely follow him on Allah who a year burble major field he

the worship offered by the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. So this chapter, even though it says
a birthday in general, it focuses more on the night prayer of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
		

			sallam, and how the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam offered his tahajjud and clear malarial
prayers. So even though a general title is used, it's very specifically referring to the night
prayer of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam Hadith number 261 and Mohave I'm not sure about
the Allahu anhu narrated that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam performed prayers of such
length, that his feet would become swollen. It was said to him, you exert yourself to such a degree,
yet Allah has forgiven your past and future since the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
said, should I not be a grateful servant? Should I not be a grateful spirit? So this is Hadith
		

			number 261. I'll have the Hydra himolla. When commenting about this Hadith, he says that praying at
night is about showing appreciation and thankfulness to Allah subhanho wa Taala for his forgiveness,
and that is what the Prophet salallahu alaihe salam is emphasizing over here, that the haggard and
claremore lay is about showing gratitude and appreciation to Allah subhanho wa Taala. Number two, is
that the companion when he's asking this question, he's coming from a place of fear thinking that
because the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is praying till his feet are swollen and another
Hadith his feet are correct in other Hadith, even his feet to start to have some blood come out of
		

			them. He's assuming that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is praying, out of fear of
punishment, out of fear of you know, falling short, but here the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
is educating him that this Salah the 100 and clear mandate is for a higher purpose is for a higher
reason. We just saw appreciation and gratitude to Allah subhanho wa Taala. So we learned several
things over here that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam had all of his sins forgiven. And
we've highlighted this in the past, that it was not possible for any of the prophets of Allah
subhanho wa Taala to fall into major sins, or to intentionally sin even if it is a minor sin. But
		

			what happened from the prophets were human error and mistakes, and that is what it means that his
previous and future sins are forgiven. Number two is that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
exhorted himself as much as he possibly could exonerate himself as much as he possibly could, so
much so that his feet are swollen, are swollen over here as for this Hadith, now, one could
interpret by this action, that it would be considered extreme that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam is emphasizing over here, that it's not done out of fear, but rather it's done out of great
gratitude to Allah subhanaw taala. Now what exactly is the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa
		

			sallam grateful for there are many things that scholars have hypothesized from them is the fact that
Allah subhanaw taala gave him the privilege to be a prophet and messenger from them is that Allah
subhanaw taala referred to him as an Arab meaning as a servant of Allah subhanho wa Taala and
allowed him to worship Him. There are many interpretations, none of them in isolation are correct
within themselves, but all of them together encompass a more correct and appropriate answer, that
all of the blessings that Allah subhanaw taala had given him, the major of them and the minor of
them, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam wanted to show gratitude for wanting to show gratitude
		

			for the 262 and 263, or a repetition of the previous Hadith. And the last thing is, obviously we see
the length of the prayer itself, that the prayer itself is so long that the prophets of Allah hi
Leo, Salem's feet became swollen. So now we get to Hadith number 264 Ls with a visit inquired from
Isola della anta regarding the prayer of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam at
night, she replied, The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to sleep for the first
half portion of the night. after praying a shot. He would then wake up and prayer tonight, but
		

			When the time of the last sixth of the night entered, he would pray the without and go to his bed.
If he had a desire, he would approach his wife. And when he would hear the call to prayer, he would
get up actively. If he was in a state of major ritual impurity, he performed devotion. If not, he
performed ablution and then went to pray. So now several things that we can learn from this hadith
number one, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam disliked sleeping before Salaam, Malaysia. So
the general rule is you should not sleep before salado Asia even taking a nap. Don't take a nap
before Sumatra, Asia, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam disliked it. Also, we derived from
		

			this hadith that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam disliked talking after Salah Malaysia. So
after Salah Malaysia has been prayed once you go to sleep right away, as this was the Sunnah of the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that he sleeps right after Isha. Then once he has gone to sleep,
he is going to sleep for the first half of the night. Now one thing I want to emphasize over here is
that we'll find different narrations about the sleeping habits and the praying habits of the Prophet
salallahu alaihe salam, you have to understand that these different narrations talk about different
circumstances. So sometimes he's traveling sometimes he's resident, sometimes he's sick. Sometimes
		

			he is he isn't. Sometimes he's extra fatigued, extra tired, sometimes he's isn't. So that is how we
reconcile between all the various narrations that talk about the preamble and the Hadith of the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. So here we're finding the normative case, when the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is healthy, and he is resident, he would sleep for the first half of the
night he would sleep for the first half of the night. Now, let us try to put some timings on this.
So for example, the average time for salado Asia in the main city of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi,
wasallam, I would say is around 730. Around 730 or so that is the average time for Salatu Elisha,
		

			the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam prays he goes to sleep, he's probably sleeping at about
eight or so again, this purely just my hypothesis, and then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
is waking up roughly around one roughly around one. So it shows that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam is getting his fair share of sleep at nighttime, he's getting his fair share of sleep at
night. And then from around one o'clock or so. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would pray,
clear more late, he would pray clear more late, and then at that time, he would return to his
resting place. And here I shadowed your lover. She mentioned that when the last sixth of the night
		

			would come. Then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam would pray his water and go to his bed, he
would praise Witter and go to his bed. And then if he had a need from one of his wives, he would
fulfill that need, but if there wasn't, he would rest during that time. He would rest again during
that time, till the time of fidget till the time of fetcher. So he's taking an extra nap of about an
hour or so, till the time of budget comes in till the time of budget comes in. And this shows us
that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would thereafter perform widow or opera reversal, if
we're needed, and then he would go to a lot of budget and then he would go to Salatu budget. So the
		

			Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would sleep till half of the night he would sleep till half of
the night and would pray thereafter until the last sixth of the night, and he will conclude his
night prayer by praying the wizard. Now we get to Hadith number 265 of the Libyan adversity Allah
Han Omar reported that he wants slept at the house of his maternal aunt, my mother was the wife of
the Prophet sallallahu it was sent up. He said, I slept on the width of the cushion, and the
Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam slept on the length of the cushion, and he slept
until the middle of the night, or a little before or after that. He sallallahu alayhi wa sallam then
		

			woke up, began wiping off the signs of sleep from his face. And then he recited the last 10 Ayat of
surah, Allah Milan. He then stood up and use the water he found in a leather bag that was hanging to
perform his ablution he performed his ablution thoroughly and commenced the prayer. Abdullah bin
iversity Allah hi Norma I did. I stood next to him on his left, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam put his right hand on my head, took a hold of my ear and twisted it. He performed
two units, then two units, then two units, then two units, then two units and then two units. A
narrator from this hadith says the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam prayed two units
		

			six times, meaning a total of 12 units. The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam then
performed the water prayer for a short period of time, performed the water and laid it down for a
short period of time. Until then why then came to inform him of the fajita prayer. He then performed
two short units and headed for the masjid. So we have quite a few lessons from being derived over
here. So we're we're number one, we see our beloved Hagia Sophia Allahumma the maternal
		

			Sorry, paternal cousin of the prophets of Allah who lives on the paternal cousin of the Prophet
salallahu alayhi wasallam. So at our best is the uncle of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam,
and Abdullah is his son. So he is a paternal cousin, and the wife of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi
wa sallam a mother.
		

			She is related as the maternal aunt, she's related as the maternal aunt. So one day Abdullah sleeps
over at his house, sorry, at her house. Now why is of the less sleeping over at her house, the
scholars mentioned that Allah bas, the uncle of the prophets of Allah, why they were sent them, he
wanted to know what the habit of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi salam was with regards to his
chromolaena tahajjud when he was too shy, to impose himself and too shy to ask, so he sent his son
and obviously a young child, especially your, your cousin, you're not going to feel imposed upon
it's a very nice, you know, cordial, genuine relationship that the province of Allah I do so hide
		

			without the law. And that is why it was easier for him to sleep over. Now look at how their sleep
over over there sleeping perpendicular to one another, where Abdullah when I butcher the Allahu
anhu, he has the wide portion of the cushion, and the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam has the
long portion of the cushion. So here they're sleeping on the same cushion perpendicular to one
another. And this shows us that in times of need, particularly if there's a young child, that a bed
can be shared with them, even if they're not your own child, even if they're not your own child. But
look at the etiquette. One is lying down, linear and the other ones lie down perpendicular to them.
		

			So this shows us the etiquette of doing that as well. So the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he
woke up in the first half of the night, a little bit before or a little bit after the webinar, but
he's a young child. He doesn't remember exactly what that was, when he remembers it was
approximately midnight, it was approximately midnight, Islamic midnight, being around 12:31am or so.
Then when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam wakes up, he works his face to remove the signs of
fatigue from his face. So clearly the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam is tired, and there are
signs of fatigue, but he wipes his face to remove the signs of fatigue. And then the Prophet
		

			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam recites the last 10 verses of Surah hollybrook. So what we learned from
this is that, number one, it is permissible to recite the Quran, when one is not in a state of
Buddha when one is not in the state of Bordeaux. And number two, is that one of the things that
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to do and this is not
		

			reported from him very frequently. But this report shows that he used to set the last in verses of
surah, Allah Milan, when waking up when waking up from his sleep, particularly in the middle of the
night. So this can be established as a good thing to do. If one wakes up in the middle of the night,
then they can recite the last 10 verses of surah Nimrod,
		

			then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he found a container or this was a leather bag rather,
that was hanging. And this leather hanging bag was what the prophet sallallahu Sallam said and
useful. And this gives you some insight, you know, how did they store water at that time, sometimes
they use storage containers, like little parts that would be covered, but at other times, they used
leather vessels and these bags could store the water and they would be hung from a hawk or something
of that nature. So if someone needs to drink, then they can drink or if somebody's super formal,
though, then that will boil then that water is already ready to pour out. And here he mentions that
		

			the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam performed his widow thoroughly. What does that mean,
performing will do thorley meaning that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam he did every part.
So as you know, my dear brothers and sisters, there are our cat or pillars of Voodoo that the widow
is not valid without. And then there are the recommended parts of Voodoo that you increase your
reward if you do them. So the pillars of Voodoo is to wash from the fingertips to or actually, the
vehicle in order is to wash the face. That is the first pillar. The second pillar is to wash from
the fingertips all the way to the elbow. That is the second pillar. The third pillar is to wipe the
		

			head. And then the fourth pillar is to wash the feet. Those are the four pillars of Moodle. Now the
sooner of Moodle, you add to them is that you start off by washing your hands first, and then you
put water in your mouth and nose. And then you wipe your face. And then you again you wash from your
fingertips to your elbows, and then you wipe the head backwards and forwards and use your fingers to
clean the inside of your ears. And also the prophets of Allah Hafiz and please excuse me, I forgot
about this, that from the Sunnah of odo is that when he would wash his face, he would also run his
fingers through his beard, right his fingers through his beard. So that's going back to the face.
		

			Now let's get back to the head. So after you left your head, you've cleaned your ears, and then the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam used to clean his feet used to wash his
		

			Feet thoroughly with water. Also from the center of odo is to do it three times is to do it three
times. However, if you do it once, that is sufficient if you do it once it is sufficient and then to
say Bismillah R Rahman r Rahim when you start that is from the center and then when you finish to
make the door are finishing, many doors are narrated, but from them a Chateau de la dama will have

sure that he did all of them and didn't just do the arcann of Voodoo. And then the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wasallam began to pray. So now I'm delivering that by Saudi, Allahu Allah. He's a
young boy, I want you to imagine what is it going to be like? waking up a young boy for prayer,
waking up a young boy for prayer? How difficult and challenging is that going to be? Yet Abdullah
with us, he knows he's been sent for a mission. And that is to observe the nightmare of the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, because that is what his father wants from him. So he wakes up, he
		

			forms his widow, but he doesn't know too much milk, right? He's still a young child, and he stands
to the left of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. Now, when you and another individual are
praying together, where is the person following the man supposed to stand? is he supposed to stand
to the left behind the Imam? or to the right? For those of you that are there, where does he stand?
		

			He's supposed to stand to the right. The person following with the man is supposed to stand to the
right of the Imam does he have to be a little bit behind? Some scholars have mentioned that, but
here we see that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
		

			told him or showed him rather to pray to the right. So now, we also see in this hadith that the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he grabs the lemon Ibis by the ear. And this shows you that a
person that is praying is allowed to do minor movements. So that there is a need that you have in
prayer that you need to perform minor movements for you are allowed to do those minor movements. So
for example, sometimes the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is praying in the house of his of his
wife, I shall do Bhavana. It's a very cramped space. So sometimes, if he needed to move forward have
in order to move back a little bit a little bit. That was perfectly fine. And same thing over here.
		

			He grabs up double bass by the year to indicate to him to move him to the right to move him to the
right. Some of the scholars also mentioned that Abdullah bass, he wasn't paying attention or who's
falling asleep. And the Prophet sallallahu wasallam used this, to wake him up, use this to wake him
up. So multiple things we find from that portion. And then we see the description that I've loved
and I bustled Yamaha nama. He says, He prayed the night prayer two units by two units. Now later on,
we're going to see the hadith of Isla de la vida, saying that he prayed for units. How do we
understand between these two Hadith that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he would pray two
		

			units and two units and take a small break and take a small break. And then he again he would pray
two units and two units and then take a small break and then pray two units until unit and pray a
small break. So that is what exactly is happening over here. That in the hadith of Abdullah numbers,
or the Allahu Allah Houma, he's praying 12 units altogether, he's spraying 12 units all together.
And then after he had prayed his 12 units, he prayed one with it, and then the Prophet sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam laid down. So now what exactly are these 12 units? What exactly are these 12 units?
The scholars have had multiple interpretations from them, which I want to share with you.
		

			Interpretation number one is that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, he would have an
introductory prayer to his the hydrogen preamble and we'll see that coming up there. These are two
very late, quick units that you pray as an introduction, Turkey I'm Elaine and tahajjud. Other
scholars said that this was the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam praying to units for the Sunnah
of Asia praying the Sunnah of Asia at this time. Other scholars said that the Prophet sallallahu
alayhi wa sallam is praying to units for making widow for making widow. And those are what are the
initial two units are. Then the other units that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam prayed, they
		

			are the pmla and the Hadith of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. So two units out of the 12
were either the introduction, the two centers of Asia, or the two centers that one makes after
making model and then the 10 were actually the keyamo Lail and the tahajjud. And then he prayed one
winter thereafter he prayed one without there after. And this shows us that
		

			you can pray whatever is well you know a lot of people are under the impression that there has to be
three but that is not the case. We see that the prophets of Allah hi lucilla prayed one with her
		

			And we'll see this in other Hadith as well. From this hadith We also learned that you can pray a
congregation with a young child. Even if you haven't reached the age of puberty, we can see from
this Hadith, that it is valid to prayer non for non obligatory prayers in congregation. So here the
Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was praying the hydrogen clamor lay, and he prayed in
congregation. And that is something that is allowed to do. And we see that it is recommended to pray
the width of prayers and voluntary prayers, two units by two units. So the fourth non fourth
prayers, they should be prayed two units by two units. Then last we see that the more I then is
		

			meant to, if it's possible, inform the Imam of the fudger prayer time before going to give the other
and that is what happened with the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and this is just to give the
other the Imam had started getting ready and doing whatever preparations they need to do before they
lead to the prayer. And then we see that it is from the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam to make these Sunnah prayers or fudger. Very short. Because we see that Abdullah busca de la
dama he said,
		

			the more than came to inform him, and then he prayed to short units of prayer and headed to the
masjid. Now what to Surah is does he recite in the sun as a photo, were to civilize the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam recite in the sun as a frigid he received Kalia even careful on and
called whoa Allahu Ahad. Now, what to Surah is that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam recite

a brief benefit. We see that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam concludes his night by reciting
Kalia who calphalon and colo Allahu Ahad and he also starts his day by reciting Kalia even calculon
		

			and call her Allahu Ahad. Now why is the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam emphasizing these two
suitors. These two soldiers, they show his relationship with the creation. And they also show his
relationship with the Creator, meaning they summarize all of his relationships. So the relationship
that he has with human beings is based upon Islam. So those that are Muslims and those that are not
Muslims, and that his relationship with the creation, and then his relationship with his creator is
one of servitude, and that what certainly philosophy is all about. So that is what he used to
conclude his night with, and start his day with as an extra point of benefit. This brings us now to
		

			headache number 266 of the webinar. So the Allahumma narrative, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam used to pray during the night at 13 units used to pray 13 units and this is like the previous
headache, except this includes the winner now. So 12 plus 112 plus one, ID number 267. I shout out
the law now reported whenever the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam could not pray the night
prayers due to sleep or excessive fatigue, he would pray 12 units during the daytime and this shows
us the worship of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that is so beautiful Subhanallah and the
human side of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa set up so did the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam
		

			pray the Hydra that clear my nail every single night? And the answer to that is no. The prophets of
Allah who I live Salaam didn't not pray tahajjud and Claremont lay every single night. We see it
from this hadith over here, that sometimes the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would not pray,
perhaps he is sick. Perhaps the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is traveling or other times he
has overcome by fatigue, meaning that he is just very, very tired and he is unable to pray. Those
days when the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam could not pray at night, then the Prophet
sallallahu alayhi wa sallam would pray during the day. He would pray during the day. And that is the
		

			Doha prayer. That is the Doha prayer. And inshallah we're going to touch on that tomorrow. We're
going to touch on that tomorrow with Elijah, what does the Doha prayer actually look like? So, this
shows us that if the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam isn't able to pray at night, then he is he
makes it up during the daytime. So that time after the sunrise till the time of zywall is known as
the Doha time where one can pray the Doha prayers and we will be addressing that tomorrow, the
Isabella II tala as another benefit that we extract from this, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
sallam is praying a similar number of rock eyes at night, as he is during the day. So the heart has
		

			four rock eyes, acid has four rock eyes, and Muslim has three records. That's 11 Records altogether.
So those are during the daylight or sunlight hours, and add during the evening time when there is no
sun. The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam is spraying just as many voluntary prayers and this is
a benefit that some of the scholars have mentioned. Hadith number 268 aborted
		

			Allahu anhu narrated that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said when one awakes at night, let
him begin his night prayers with two short units of prayer, meaning that when you start praying the
hydrodynamically amillennial at nighttime, then do not jump into a very long tour that goes right
away, but rather due to short, introductory Rockers, meaning keep them light, keep them simple, and
keep them easy. That is how you should introduce your prayers. Now, is it obligatory to do that? No,
not at all. But this is the son of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that when you do pray to
malaria and the hazard let the first two units be very light and easy and do not jump into something
		

			heavy right away. And this is similar to his Sunnah prayers. So if you look at the sinner prayers
that he did for fudger and for the heart and for the other prayers, his Sunnah prayers were very
late, so it's fine here he is praying earlier he will Catherine kohala had the Sooners for mclubbe
Kalia Kalia Han, Catherine canola hide. So this shows that the Sunnah prayers are meant to be light.
So the introductory prayer to the hydrogen pmla keep it light. Now we get to the hadith of Zaid Abu
Khalid narrated, I decided that I would closely observe how the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam
performed his prayers. Thus I laid down on the threshold of his tent, the Messenger of Allah
		

			sallallahu alayhi wa sallam first prayed to short units, and then he prayed to long units and then
to long units and then to long units. He then paid two units shorter than the previous ones, and
then pay two more units shorter than the ones before and again he paid two more units shorter than
the ones previous he again pay two units shorter than the ones previous. He then prayed the width
the the top of the amounted to a total of 13. rockers are units all together. So here we see that
the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam when he's praying, the first two units are very short. And
then the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam prayed six long units. And we're going to be seeing in
		

			the later Hadith, what those long units actually were meaning certain bacara Surah Nisa and sola
alebrije minute are very, very long units, and then the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam would
start to wind down his night, and he would make them shorter and then shorter and then shorter, and
then short again. So here we see that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam prayed 13 units all
together, the middle six were the long ones, the ones that before and after were light and short.
Were light and short.
		

			Hadeeth number 270. I will cinema as I shall
