The reality is I never ever thought that
I would be a writer, especially after I
became Muslim, after I had my family,
started wearing jibab, niqab,
it just was not part of my vision.
And I definitely didn't think I had anything
to say.
But you know, what I've come to understand
in the years since I started writing, which
is a good 20 years now, is that
every one of us has a story to
tell. Every one of us has a message
to share and every one of us has
knowledge. Knowledge that's needed out in the world.
My job is to help you
own your story, recognize the value of your
message
and distill that knowledge
that is being waited for right now. Because
believe it or not, there are people out
there in the world
who need what it is that you have
to give.
So the work that I do now,
simply about helping
my ladies
see themselves.
See themselves the way that we see them.
Recognize what it is that they have to
bring to the table.
And then give them a system and a
structure and a framework and a support network
to be able to get that book out
into the world.
Because
that book is
the clearest
download
of the gifts that you have. Lots of
us think that, you know, we post on
social media, you know, we talk to our
friends, we talk to our family, we talk
to our children, but those stories and those
messages and that knowledge
are never as clear and concise
as they will be in a book. And
that's why I believe that every one of
us has a book within,
and my job is to help you to
discover the book within.
So let's do this.
