When was the last time you felt something?
Really felt something?
I know sometimes in my life, when I
ask myself that question, When was the last
time you felt something? I have to go
pretty far back to find an answer.
Because let's face it, sometimes life can be
hard. Sometimes our responsibilities can feel overwhelming.
And how do we get through that?
We numb.
We numb ourselves
to the pain. We numb ourselves to the
disappointment, the frustration,
the negative things, the negative emotions around us.
We numb ourselves so that we can just
get through,
so we can just get by.
The numbness allows us to carry on.
But what if I told you
that that numbness,
that security blanket that you've thrown over your
shoulders is a weight that is holding you
down.
The
is the thing that's keeping you stagnant.
It's keeping you from growing.
It's keeping you from shining.
Because the growth
wow, the growth
the growth comes at a price.
Yes. It can be hard.
It can be painful.
It can mean that we have to confront
our demons, confront the things that we don't
like about ourselves,
about our lives,
about the people around us. But
if we can be brave enough
to confront
the things that we don't like and make
a decision
to lean into the discomfort and come out
the other side,
well, then that's when the growth happens.
That's when we blossom. That's when we become
the best version of ourselves.
The numbness keeps us in the comfort zone
and that's not where life is.
Life is on the edge of your comfort
zone, beyond the edge, into the stretch zone.
And when you're in the stretch zone, there's
no numbness anymore.
It's vital.
It's alive.
You are vital. You are alive, you are
a living, breathing, growing, feeling thing.
You're on purpose, you're on fire,
for you. That's what I want for you.
So if you've got that numbness, if you're
wearing that security blanket right now, know this,
the numbness may take away the pain,
but it takes away the joy as well.
Lift your head up.
It's time for you to show up and
be the hero of your life story.
