It's time for
voter
activity. The elections have been going on, in
Atlanta. We're in the runoffs,
so it's important
for Muslims to be involved
in the
voter, process, the voting process.
El Hajj Malik al Shabaz
notably said that he doesn't believe
in voter registration without voter education.
So we have to research the candidates
to see
what
are their positions. What is their what are
their qualifications?
You want to look and see if they've
spent more time in the corporate sector,
or more time dealing with people in the
neighborhoods and working in non profit areas. You
want to look at what are their goals
and aspirations.
Should they get into office?
And so, again, as Muslims, we have had
a reputation
of being apolitical, not involved in the political
process.
But I always say if we're gonna be
here, we need to be here. And so
it's important for us to lend our voice
to candidates that will be able to serve
the needs, not only of the general community,
but also,
be, helpful to the Muslim community.
So I pray that you research the candidates.
Look at their websites. Don't look at their
advertisements.
Look at their websites to see what their
biographies are, see what their qualifications
are, and make an informed decision. May Allah
guide you, and may Allah allow you to
make the best decision,
for the sake of the
