All praise belongs to Allah the most high.
We thank Him and we seek His aid
and we seek His forgiveness.
And we seek refuge with him from the
evil of ourselves and from our bad actions.
Whoever Allah guides them there's no one who
can mislead him and whoever Allah causes to
go astray, then there's no one to guide
him.
And I bear witness that there is no
deity
except Allah who is unique and without partners.
And I bear witness that Muhammad is his
worshiper and his messenger. May the peace and
blessings of Allah be upon him and his
family and his companions and those who follow
them with good intentions until the day of
judgment.
Oh, you who believe fear Allah as he
should be feared and don't die except as
Muslims. Again, oh, you who believe fear Allah
as he should be feared and don't die
except as Muslims.
And oh mankind be careful of your duty
to your Rab who created you from a
single soul and from it created its mate
and from the 2 of them spread forth
many men and women. Be careful of your
duty to Allah whom you demand your mutual
rights and be careful of your duty to
the wounds that bore you. Indeed Allah is
our word Akib over you.
For you who believe fear Allah and always
speak the truth. He will cause your deeds
to be beneficial and he will forgive for
you your sins Whoever obeys Allah and his
messenger, then he has truly achieved a tremendous
accomplishment.
Indeed, the best speech is the book of
Allah. And the best guidance is the guidance
of Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wa sallam and the
most evil of all affairs of newly invented
matters which has no precedent in Islam and
indeed all innovations are astray and each astray
is in the * fire.
Oh Allah save us from it. Oh Allah
accept our
Awudu billahi minasheyehtuni rajeem bismillayrakhmunir
Rahim.
And Allah says, say, my servants,
you who have transgressed against yourselves, do not
despair of the mercy of Allah.
Truly
Allah forgives all wrong actions.
He is ever forgiving and most merciful.
And also any one of you
who does a misdeed through ignorance and repents
thereafter
and makes amends,
then verily he is forgiving and merciful.
And truly Allah is gentle
and compassionate
to all of mankind.
And the qualifier on that
in in in seeking forgiveness as the law
says and then does ignorance, does
something in ignorance and then repents.
Then you get that forgiveness. It's not
a matter of of doing things continuously doing
wrong and expecting well I'm Muslim and and
I'll just be forgiven. You know, but again
you have to basically recognize that the wrong
that you've done and then seek repentance from
Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.
So we have to look at
the whole concept of forgiveness,
today. I wanted to look at that for
the most part. And as the law talks
about the mercy.
You know the concept of mercy is one
that we should embrace,
you know, in regards to as Muslims.
You know when we look at all of
the ills that are impacting
specifically Muslims, mankind and Muslims today, you know,
we have to wonder, you know, how can
Allah forgive the wrongs that you see going
on on the planet?
And, you know, we have to
look at the fact that people are facing
all sorts of trials,
but yet they're maintaining their faith.
And the law says who's, who and whoso
does evil or oppresses his own self and
thereafter seeks the law's forgiveness,
he shall find Allah most forgiving
and merciful.
And so again, even if you do wrong
to yourself,
because when we separate from Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala, we're doing wrong to ourselves.
Wars and oppression, abuse,
yet forced migration,
starvation
act as an act of war.
You know, again, as I stated,
Allah's mercy, it comes with a condition that
first that you do not associate partners with
him. You do not associate partners with Allah.
And then what the what the law says,
but those who do evil deeds then repent
and believe
they will find your Lord forgiving
and merciful.
The qualifier. We all we forget the qualifier
because we we get we we start to
engage in behaviors again that are inconsistent with
Islam.
Engaging in criminality,
engaging in substance abuse, engaging in promiscuity,
engaging in thievery, engaging in all sorts of
things that are, again, are inconsistent with what
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala would have us do
and what the example
that the prophet showed us.
He didn't smoke weed.
His society stopped drinking alcohol.
They stopped stealing.
Engaging in their version of gangsterism.
And so what we have to do is
say what is the example?
You know, we try to, you know, use
our intellect and rationalize all sorts of things.
You know, we're not scholars for the most
part, but we have to seek the help
of scholars.
And so what we have to do is
seek if we're doing something in ignorance,
then we have to get the enlightenment,
turn that light on,
and seek the knowledge of scholars.
And then what happens is you repent, and
Allah will forgive you. Because again, the only
sin that's not forgiven is shirk.
The only sin is not forgiving is shirk.
And again, that's again the association of partners
with the law.
It's the only unforgivable sin.
The one who engages
in this action again is called a mushrik.
You know, or one who practices
association or partners with Allah. You know, again,
then there are Muslims
who can be mushrik also.
You know, because you have Muslims who they'll
they'll they'll worship Allah and they also have
certain
types of, entities that they they call upon.
And so, you know, we have to be
wary of that. You know, just because a
person may be born Muslim for the most
part, born in a Muslim country, it doesn't
mean that they're practicing Islam. A lot of
times they may be practicing culturism
as opposed to Islam. And so we as
Muslims, for the most part, who are new
Muslim, many of us probably we don't, you
know, we have 40, 50 years in Islam,
you know, but we're still learning. We're still
students as the prophet
said to seek knowledge from the cradle to
the grave. And we have to avoid the
behavior
that is consistent with those who call themselves
mushrik. We want to be Muslim, one who
submits to Allah, one to Allah. You know,
these are some of the things that we
have to do. You know, we have to
be totally Allah dependent
and not dependent on anything else.
Not depending on anything else in creation, anything
else on creation. Allah says then to seek
Allah's forgiveness.
Truly, truly Allah is much merciful much forgiving
and merciful. And and when we read the
Quran, every chapter but one starts off with
Bismillahir
Rahmanirrahim
in the name of Allah, the beneficent, the
merciful.
Every chapter but 1. And so he is
all merciful. He is all merciful. And so
we have to look at
how the examples
of the prophets that came before Muhammad alayhis
salaam said to his
sons, Go you and inquire about Youssef and
his brother and never give up hope of
Allah's mercy. Certainly, no one despairs
of Allah's mercy except the people
who disbelieve. And we don't want to be
in that category.
And again, it does not mean
that we just sit back and pray, you
know, just,
you know, we don't won't do that. We
have to be proactive in our deen. We
have to be very proactive as Muslims brothers
and sisters. Very proactive as Muslims, brothers and
sisters, you know, in seeking the help of
Allah. We must worship and we must work.
Abu Dhar said that the messenger of Allah
sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam
said,
Allah
Almighty says, whoever comes to him with
a good deed will have a reward, the
10 like of it and even more. And
whoever comes with an evil deed will recompense
will be recompensed for one evil deed like
like it or he will be forgiven.
Whoever draws close to me by the length
of a hand, I will draw close to
him by the length of an arm. Whoever
draws close to me by the length of
an arm, I will draw close to him
by the length of a
fathom. Whoever comes to me walking, I will
come to him running.
Whoever meets me with enough sins to fill
the earth, not association
not associating any partners with me, I will
meet him with as much forgiveness.
And that's strong. That's you know, again, we
have to look at that, but the bottom
line is we have to be repentant.
We don't just say, okay. Well, log on.
Forgive me. I can go stick this bank
up. Log on. Forgive me. I can go
sling this this this this this this this
crack. I log on. Forgive me. I can,
you know, basically engage in armed robbery and
and all of that. You know, the condition
is you recognize as ignorant behavior
and you change the behavior. What does the
law says? He does not change the condition
of people until they change what is in
their heart. We can't be basically engaging in
all sorts of vile behavior, promiscuity,
abuse of our spouses, and all of that
and say, well, you know, a lot of
them forgive me. A lot of them forget
no. It comes with the condition
of recognizing that you're engaging in the the
the engaging
in the behavior that is consistent with the
job, the people who are ignorant.
And we want to be the people who
are enlightened.
And again, if Allah has given me inspiration
that allows you to get inspiration, you know,
again, that all praise is due to Allah.
And if I have made any mistakes, again,
I take full responsibility for any mistakes that
I have made.
O Allah, send peace and blessings upon
our prophet Muhammad
alayhis salaam and his family and his companions.
And Allah increase his honor and elevate his
station. Grant him the highest place in paradise
and bless him with your divine mercy. And
oh Allah bless us with his intercession on
the day of judgment and forgive our sins.
The law says,
we have not sent you, oh, Muhammad, except
as a mercy
to all the worlds, as a mercy to
all the worlds. We have
the last prophet. We have the last testament,
the Quran.
And so we have to recognize the great
responsibility
that Allah has given us. There are well
over 5,000,000,000 people on the planet,
and a quarter of them are Muslim.
Allah has given us that invitation. Even people
who are born Muslim
don't
stay Muslim for the most part.
But many of us have come through so
many different trials, and Allah gave us Islam,
but we have a great responsibility.
So
we have to establish Islam not only in
our hearts, but also establish Islam in the
land begin because Muslims are facing so many
challenges around the world.
And
as such,
we need to increase our worship. It's essential.
You know, Muslims, I was talking to a
brother this morning, you know, seeking help from
Uganda.
And, you know, I asked him, you know,
okay. What's your full name and address? And
he said, well,
in my country, they're killing Muslims and making
them take on Christian names, making them change
their name. So he because he felt some
some sense of shame because his name is
you know, he has a Muslim name that
he has, but
they're legally in that country trying to force
Muslims into Christianity for the most part.
You know? And so and that's not just
happening there. It's happening in China. It's happening
throughout the world, and Allah knows best that
may happen here.
You know, I was watching the debate the
other day, and one of the people in
the debate saying would they want to make,
being anti Zionist
equal to antisemitism.
So anti Semitism is basically,
that you are basically,
engaging in behaviors that are prejudicial towards Jewish
people for their faith.
Anti Zionism
is
is basically you are disagreeing with the people
who happen to be Jews and then there
are some people who call themselves Christians who
are Zionists. It's a political philosophy. So they're
trying to conflate
Zionism
into
basically,
anti Semitism. And so we have to be
aware of these things. And then the thing
that's creeping fascism,
creeping fascism.
And before you know it, you know, there'll
be basically
you're trying to keep us from, you know,
coming to the Masjid just like in today,
you know, in in the the brothers and
sisters who wanted to go, to pray in
Jerusalem. They didn't allow them to pray at
the Masjid. And so
just because you see this happening on your
social media around the world doesn't mean it
can't happen here.
Many of us have ancestors, you know, great
grandparents
who were slaves in this country, and they
justified it by their inter their warped interpretation
of Christianity.
And so we have to understand
what El Hadamalik Al Shabaab said that this
country has
just as much
just as much,
a a a way of building gas ovens
as Hitler's society did.
He said that in what, 64, 64, 65.
And so you see the creeping fascism coming
in. And so people are justifying genocide,
justifying genocide. And so as Muslims, you know,
we have to be prayed up, or we
gonna be prayed on.
And so
when the people come at you, what are
you gonna do?
You know, and so it starts here.
It starts inside.
No matter how many weapons you think you
have,
the real weapon is the individual.
What is in your heart?
You know, people can have all sorts of
arm and armaments
in in their hands, but in their hearts
it's cowardice.
So we have to be of those
who are working to establish Islam in this
land, brothers and sisters.
Force relocations,
you know. And then
things may appear hopeless at this time,
but I see people all the time. They
talk about the the faith that the people
with, specifically in Palestine, the Palestinian grandmother who
lost their entire family, but they still calling
on the lost,
What would you do if,
you know, you at a hospital, Grady or
Northside or one of the hospitals and the
hospital was bombed?
So we have to bring it home brothers
and sisters because again that same mentality exists
over here. Because some of the settlers, you
know, they just get on a plane and
come right back to New York or Philly.
Then they come go over there and and
and and harass the the the the Palestinian
farmers.
And then they come right back to
to over here and fuel up and go
back over there.
So that same mentality exists over here, but
this is underground right now.
Incarcerated Muslim who continues to have faith brothers
and sisters,
continues to have faith. You know, we have
to develop the mental this mentality for the
benefit of our own souls. Again, we have
to develop a level of comfort
here now that because again, things could change
in a flash.
Things could change in a flash and where
will your iman be
when you're challenged? Again, let us again work
on
developing that dependence on Allah,
by increasing our prayers, our fasting,
our charity,
and decreasing our misdeeds, and anything else that's
inconsistent with what Allah would have us do.
But what does Allah says? My mercy encompasses
everything. My mercy encompasses everything.
Our lord, take us not to task if
we forget or fall into error. Our lord,
lay not on us a burden such as
you did lay on those who have gone
before us. Our lord lay on us a
burden which we do not have the power
to bear. And overlook our faults and forgive
us and have mercy on us. You are
our protector and grant us a victory grant
us a victory
over the disbelieving people, Ekamim Fuddlick.
