Because they didn't want to be in the
basement of Jannah, they wanted to be in
the highest place in Jannah, firdausilah. So there
are so many Hadith,
where a Sahabi, a companion would come to
Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi wa Salam and say, You
Rasulullah,
what are the most beloved deeds to Allah?
They don't want to do regular things. They
they want to do the best. What are
the best deeds? Muhammad Al Amal. What are
the most beloved deeds to Allah?
And the prophet salaam al gave different answers
in different Hadith. I'm gonna give you some
of them.
Tapuwa
of Allah and good manners. In another Hadith,
the Prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam would say, Assalahu
Ala waftihah. Salah one time.
In a third Hadith, the Prophet SAW Alaihi
Wasallam would say, Alaykabusiyamifaynaahu
la'idala.
Fast Ramadan because fasting Ramadan has no equal
in a word. And the Prophet SAW AHSALAN
in another hadith would say Hajjumabruur
and accepted Hajj. And the Prophet SAW AHSALAN
would say, Birru walidayin
Patience and grace and courtesy.
So these are different hadith. And why would
the prophet give different answers? He could just
say Hajj or Salaf Khilas? No. He gave
different answers. Because he looked at the person
who was asking the question. If it was
a youth,
he would say for example,
honor your parents.
If it was someone rich, he would say,
give Zakah.
A poor person would say, make salah or
fast.
So he, the prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam, kept
the person who was asking the question in
mind when he gave them the answer.
Not only that,
Sahaba'uliyas,
you told us that salah is the best
thing.
Salah is the best act of worship.
They would ask about the best type of
Salah.
Ma'a Abdel salah.
And the Prophet SAW Hassan would say,
salah alayhi.
The prophet salah alayhi wasalam said salah at
night.
And the salah alayhi wasalam would say, you
told us that fasting is the best.
What is the best type of fasting? Not
only that, what is the best type of
fasting? And he would say, so yamudahwud,
the fasting of Dawud every other day.
And they would say, yes. You told us
Sadaka is the best thing. What is the
best type of Sadaka?
A Sadaka Alal Akari. The prophet would say,
giving Sadaka
to your relatives. If your,
aunt is poor, your uncle is poor, your
brother or sister is poor, you can give
them Zakat, you can give them Sadakah. No
problem. You'll get the rewards as Muhammad Sallallahu
Alaihi Salam said.
So as Suaal anu Abdulil aamal. So you
can do the same thing. If salif inshaAllah,
and we will conclude.
Taking advantage of the special times and places.
Yeah. They say for example,
if you are in Mecca, you're doing Umrah
there, you gotta visa for 10 days or
a week, you're staying
there. We know that one salah in the
Haram in Mecca is a 100000
salawat like here in this masjid. So you
go and make Ummah in 15 minutes and
go sleep in the hotel for a whole
week.
You gotta pray more, man, because you missed
a lot of salawat in the past, and
this is a lot of Hasanah to your
credit. So you shouldn't miss out. This is
a very good opportunity.
And some people fasted Ramadan, but they don't
pray.
Yes. They will be getting the reward for
their fasting,
but they will lose their reward for not
praying.
So they don't take advantage of this fantastic
month of Ramadan. They don't make or maximize
their Hasanat in this month.
I know
a brother
who was in Edmonton, and he told me
that he was
in Jeddah, between Jeddah and Makkah. He was
a driver
for 15 years.
15 years in Makkah, between Makkah and Jeddah,
and he said, I never made Hajj, Not
even once.
It wouldn't cost me $10 to make Hajj
over there, just to buy coffee and taqakkah
Allah.
Then he said,
he stayed in Edmonton for like 5 7
years in
all. SubhanAllah, he didn't make Hajj. He had
to pay
$10,000,
travel 10,000 miles to go for the Hajj
and the back and forth. Tawfir and Hiday
was not there.
Some people in Ramadan, they will not pray.
Right? So they are missing out a big
time. So taking advantage of the special times
like Ramadan,
Youmul Jumah
taraweeh
before farsd, reading Quran, this is a very
special time. So you need to take advantage
of these times. Can you imagine night at
the Tabl? You stand in Salah for half
an hour, you make Dua, you read Quran,
and you get the reward for a 1000
month. That's 84 years.
84 years. And some people, no. We're gonna
play video games, man. I don't have time.
I'm not gonna pray Jummah and the Masjid.
They are missing out big time. So take
advantage of the special times and the special
places, and these are the 3 techniques that
the Sahaba used to maximize their hanat in
the month of Ramadan. We ask Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala to bless us and bless our
families, and to give us the help and
the strength to to fast in the month
of Ramadan, And we ask
Allah to accept our fasting
and our PM
and our salah and our zakah and charity
in this month. And we ask Allah
to accept from all of us and forgive
us all
