15:20 minutes,
we'll talk about,
we'll continue our discussion about adar al akhra.
And today inshaAllah, we spoke about this a
little bit before. We spoke about the good
ending of someone's life and the bad ending.
Rasool Khatima Rasool Khatima.
We ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to give
us a good good ending of our lives.
We're gonna start off with an authentic Hadith
from Rasulullah SAW Alaihi Wa Salam.
So in this authentic hadith and bukhari, Aisha
radiAllahu 'alaihi
wa sallam said that the prophet said, Whoever
loves to meet Allah, then Allah
also loves to meet them. And whoever hates
to meet Allah, then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
also hates to meet them. So Aisha radiAllahi
said, You Rasoolullah, are you talking about death?
Hate for death? Because
no one likes to die. Right? Is this
what you are talking about? Hating to die
and loving to die? Because we all hate
to die. So the Prophet salallahu alayhi wa
sallam said, No, I'm not talking about this.
But when a believer
is given the news, or the bishara at
the time of their death, of the mercy
and the grace of Allah, and jannah, and
the blessings
that await them,
that they would love to meet Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala.
I want to go, I want to go,
they can't wait.
But as for the kafir, the wicked,
when it is time for them to go,
and they are given a flavor of the
horrible things that are awaiting them, then they
don't want to die, because they know what
to expect now. And I always give,
an example
of the flavor
of what to come, whether it's good or
bad.
If you are an I VIP or a
celebrity, you come to the airport,
and they receive you at the airport, and
mashaAllah, they have the limousine waiting for you,
you are going to your suite in the
hotel,
you are not there
yet, but from the airport, as soon as
the plane, the plane lands, you see the
good treatment. MashAllah, the respect,
the carpet, the flowers, the signs,
and the smiles, you know? They take you
into the limousine,
you have a TV inside, you have a
fridge. A good life! You are not here
at the destination yet, but you see the
good treatment from the minute you arrive.
So this is one example, this is the
example of the believer. From the minute
they start dying,
they start to see what to come. And
they see a flavor, so now they are
happy, they are excited, they want to go.
And this is why, SubhanAllah, sometimes you see
people smiling at the time of their death,
they see,
maybe malarika, they see beautiful faces, they see
pleasures, so you see the smiles on their
faces, the joy.
The other example is when the police comes
to someone's house and they're doing drugs.
And from the minute they handcuff them, they
take them, and and now you you kind
of know what to expect. You're not in
jail yet.
You're not in jail yet. You're gonna stand,
you know, before a judge, and and eventually
you will be in jail for a number
of years. You're not there yet, but you
get some kind of, you know, treatment. You're
handcuffed,
the pushing,
and all these things, so you know that
something horrible is coming your way. Right? So
the same thing.
So if someone
sees the bishara from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,
they know that good things are coming, and
now, mashallah, they're excited, they want to go.
But if someone sees the horrible signs, they
don't want to go.
And we see things at the janazes, at
the time of death,
the janazes,
the burial. After the janazes, you see good
signs that this person, mashallah, is
on the salat al mustakim and good things
are to come. SubhanAllah, I've seen some janazahs
where
I feel like horrible things are happening right
there. I'll give some examples.
Now let's say for example, I, I've seen
some journalists where they brought in someone who
got shot at a night club. So they
were drinking, they were whatever,
and they got shot because they fought over
a girl or something or drugs, and they
got shot.
You can't expect what is what is going
to happen. What are you doing there in
the 1st place, at the nightclub?
Mopping the floor is not a good excuse,
because when they ask you in Afrah, what
were you doing there? If you say, no,
I was mobbing the floor.
You know, maybe you can say this to
the imam to trick him, but before Allah,
Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, there is no tricking because
He knows everything.
You Alam Musir Ra'Afa. Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala,
knows the secret,
what is even more hidden than a secret?
And the ulama say, What is more hidden
than a secret? Is the secret before it
becomes a secret. Allah knows it. Right? So
Allah
knows everything.
So we see examples like this where someone
takes like,
someone is, you know, takes drugs and and
they take an overdose and they die.
Right? And some people, we have seen cases,
people die in the washroom, they're doing cocaine
and stuff and they die.
So, I don't know what to say, like,
when they bring them in for Janazah, I
I pray for them, but but this is
not a good ending of someone's life. Right?
And sometimes they bring in someone who died
in their sujood,
someone who was in Makkah and they died
in the Hajj. Oh, this is a good
thing, right? Alhamdulillah, would speak some good things
to happen for them.
And subhanAllah, the good ending and the bad
ending happened at the time of Muhammad SAW.
Because sometimes you see someone,
they go to the mission all the time,
and eventually
something terrible would happen to them, like they
would be in a bad place. Because
maybe the niyyah is involved or something else,
or before the people they're good people, but
behind their backs when in Prophet they do
Haram things, kabadin, only Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
knows the intentions.
And this is why we should not judge
anyone. Because maybe you see someone in our
community,
and you feel like, yeah, they're Muslims, but
they're not the biggest Muslim out there, but
subhanahu wa ta'ala, they do good things in,
you know, between them and Allah, only Allah
knows about them, and you see someone coming
to the Masjid all the time, but they
do terrible things. So the niyyah and the
secrets, this is something we leave to Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala. So there is this hadith,
at the battle of Uphol I believe,
someone
who fought against the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam abatir,
and he was mobilizing the tribes and the
mushikun to come and fight the Prophet
So 15 minutes before the,
the battle began, the battle of Uhud, this
man came to the Prophet
He was Kafir, he fought, and he killed
Muslims, he did everything in the book.
So he came to the Prophet salallahu alayhi
wa sallam, and he said I listened to
the Quran, and I think this is the
truth, I believe in you. 15 minutes before
the
war began, the battle of Goahed.
As soon
as they started to fight, the fight just
began, like
15 minutes before he accepted Islam. And before
he could even fight or do anything,
an arrow came and it killed him.
You know, the arrow came, and it got
into his neck, and he died innocently.
And the Prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam said, Dhakhalajjannah
wumasallallahuillahi
raka. The Prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam said, He
is going to Jannah, and he didn't even
pray one rakah, not a single rakah he
prayed
at Jannah.
Another battle, someone from the Sahaba was fighting
with the Prophet
and he was a brave man,
and this is also an authentic hadith, and
after the battle the Sahaba said You Rasulullah,
did you see Fulan? Did you see this
Sahabi? MashaAllah, he was fighting, he was defending,
he did everything, mashaAllah. So the Prophet said,
Huwafinnaal. The Prophet said, he is already in
Jahannam. SubhanAllah they said, why?
Nal. The Prophet SAW Alaihi Wasallam said, He
is already in jahannam. Subhanu'Allah
they said, Why? They said, The Prophet SAW
Alaihi Wasallam told them,
When you find him, because they couldn't see
him around, maybe he was in a distant
place or something. So the
Prophet when you find him, you realize that
in the fight
he lost his fingers, so he got so
stressed out he said, What am I gonna
do
without my fingers or without my arm? So
he killed himself with his own sword. He
committed suicide.
So the Prophet said
he is in Jahannul. So mashAllah, you see
the, you know, the difference between these two
stories? Someone who just came, they were doing
horrible things, 15 minutes in
Jannah. Someone who was Sahabi for many years,
the last minute of his life he did
something horrible, Jahannam.
So we cannot judge someone's life
or whether they would be in Jannah or
Jahannam, only Allah
is the judge. As long as they are
on the light, at hand, and everything, we
leave it to Allah
We see stories,
people in their death, subhanAllah.
1 brother
from St. Catharines, his name was Habib.
I had the pleasure to be with him
in the masjid for about 1 year,
then he died. He was only 50 something.
He was young, Mashallah.
So this brother came from Afghanistan,
and he was there against the Soviets when
he was young, the Soviets came in and
he defended his country, he lost his leg,
and and, he had medical issues, he came
to Canada.
SubhanAllah,
when you saw this man, Allah I'm not
exaggerating, sometimes you see some people, you feel
like these are like Sahaba, man. Some people
like brother Tom,
from, maybe from,
Warlord.
You see this brother? SubhanAllah, he reminds you
of Sahab.
He passed away a few months ago, may
Allah
SubhanAllah give him Jannah. So brother Habibullah, mashaAllah
very, very generous.
I used to run away from him because
every time he saw me,
he would grab me, let's go for lunch.
And he has to pay all the time.
I, you know, I told him, I have
money, I want to pay. No no no.
No no, this is not good, I have
to pay. And he was paying all the
time. Even if I'm busy he would grab
me, let's go and eat. And he would
take me to Afghani Restaurants, Mashallah, they make
fantastic food. They put carrots and raisins,
fantastic.
So, the brother,
was fasting in Ramadan and he had some
medical issues, and I told him you don't
have to fast.
And he would start to cry and he'd
say I've been fasting for that number of
years, I've been fasting for like 35 years,
40 years, Allah. For so many years I
was fasting, I never missed a day from
madam, Ramadan, I will never miss a day.
And he was very sick, and I told
him you don't have to fast. The sunnah
is, if you can't, kalas, you make up
the days after Allah, and he said no.
If I, if it's my time to go,
I want to meet Allah when I'm fasting.
Right? So this is how, like Arloom ul
Himna, this is how the yakin that this
brother had.
So,
it wasn't a Qomayrah Ramadan, and
before the end of the month, like I
think it was the day of Laylat Al
Qadr or something, he died.
The thing was,
about a week before his death, he was
unresponsive.
The nurses, the doctors would come to him
and,
they tried to talk to him, no response.
Like, he couldn't open his eyes.
I mean, he he can't he can't feel
anything, like he he's asleep,
you know, he can't move, nothing.
The night before he died, I visited him
a few times with, some brothers from the
community,
and the night before he died, so I
I visited him about this time,
and they say he died tomorrow,
Unresponsive for a whole week. So I came
close to his bed,
and I said, Assalamu Alaikum bi Habib. I
said, Assalamu Alaikum.
He gave a salam.
Something like this. Although he was unresponsive for
a whole week,
and I said, Say la ilaha illallah Muhammad
Rasoolallah. He started to repeat it, la ilaha
illallah Muhammad Rasoolallah.
And he started to smile.
I saw this with my own eyes, like
he was smiling, like he was seeing something
beautiful that he was smiling. You could see
his teeth. Although he has been unresponsive
for a week, a few hours later he
died.
And SubhanAllah,
This brother,
His death impacted a lot of people in
the community. SubhanAllah, the good people
always go away very fast, they don't stay.
Only the suckers and the, you know, miserable
souls, they stick around for a long time.
And SubhanAllah, I keep wondering, SubhanAllah, the good
people leave right away, they don't stick around,
only the terrible people stay as a test.
And I say Allah, please take them and
give us a couple of chicken or something,
like this guy is nothing but trouble, like
90 years, 95,
what is this? And you say SubhanAllah, good
person, 30 years they die, 40 years they
die. SubhanAllah, I don't know, but this is
just,
this is just an observation. This is a
good example of a good ending of someone's
life.
On the opposite, subhanAllah, you see some examples
of
at the time of the Prophet
he wrote Al Baqarah wa Al Anquran,
and eventually he left Islam.
I don't know why, it doesn't give the
reason.
This man left Islam at the time of
the Prophet
and he joined the Romans in
Fatima Tukhatil Shamm. So he left
Arabia altogether.
So, in this narration in Bukhary, they buried
the man,
and in the morning they found him
above the ground.
There's a second band on the right hand
side here, the gun is going after.
Yeah. The It was like a second band.
2nd band. Check. Take a look for me.
So they bury the person, and the person's
body comes out. They see the body of
the person, they bury the person, eventually they
have to, they have to stone the body
and leave him in the open. They couldn't
bury the body. So this is an example.
Also,
the example of
subhanallah, like, they say there is this story
of someone. It is yours, Nima. My god?
Yeah. What happened?
What what is going on? No. It's
Okay.
So,
there's this story of a man
who,
like, they call him undertaker.
So he would take people and bury them.
There is also
a, a wrestler whose name is Undertaker. But
anyway, so this man would bury people, and
after everyone leaves,
he will go to the grave, and he
will open the grave, and take the kafan,
the shroud, and sell it. And if someone
has, like, a tooth, some people have, you
know, golden teeth, he will take it and
sell it, and so on and so forth.
So he said,
the reason why he made tawqa, because when
they bury people
and they face the Pipla, he said, In
many cases, when I go, like, after a
day or 2, to take the stuff, the
shroud, and to take the tooth and everything,
I see people, like, facing the other direction.
They're not facing the Pipla, and some of
them would be in a horrible condition.
Right? So this is why he said, you
know, something terrible is going on here. And
and and he went and and he made
doubt. Right? So these examples happen.
So he sees some things happening at the
janazah, before the death, and after the death,
and subhanAllah, you see the good side, and
you also see
the bad side. I will conclude with this
story insha Allah, everybody likes, stories,
of a good thing that happened to a
brother from Pakistan. It's a true story that
happened in Assardee. Right? So,
during that day, they brought 2 janazahs. I'm
not sure if it was the Haram or
somewhere else.
So they brought a janazah of a local
person from Saudi Arabia.
So thousands of people came, right?
And they brought the janazah of a brother
from Pakistan, of course this is not his
country, not so many people knew him, he
was there working.
So only a few people came for his
for his burial. Only 4 people carried the
casket and, you know,
the kafal, and they left.
So, you know, in Saudi, it is it
is basically the same thing. It's,
you know,
