Mustafa Khattab – Taraweeh Gems 13 Forgiveness

You have to forgive your brothers and sisters

as well. You have to forgive your children.

You have to forgive your wife, your husband,

your colleagues, and so on and so forth.

Speaking of that, I remember my brother

told me one time that

he invited his friends to come over for,

for lunch after work, and when he came,

the food was burnt. Okay? So okay.

Big fight.

Then he, told his wife, next time I'm

gonna cook. Okay? So sit back and watch.

Right? And learn.

He told me he forgot to turn the

oven on. So by the time his friends

came, the the food was not even cooked.

Right?

You know, we make mistakes all the time.

None of us is perfect.

So why why do you expect other people

to be perfect? Right? So we have to

forgive one another.

This beautiful Ayat is Surah in this ad.

The floor,

the women, it talks about forgiveness.

Ayat number 7 17.

Allah says,

Qarib, Qarib, Ma'ala, Qarib, and Yamuz.

Right? So those who come back to Allah

Subhanahu Wa'ala after doing something wrong,

out of ignorance ignorantly or recklessly. We'll talk

about this in a second.

Then

they make Taobah soon after.

This soon after in the ayat or that

math say it means anytime before you die,

which means 30 years, 50 years. As soon

as you say, yeah, Allah forgive me, before

you die, he he is willing to forgive

you. Right? So we see how much patient

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala is with us.

There are at least a couple of ayaats

in the Quran where Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala

says, if he were to punish us immediately,

if we do something wrong,

no living people,

no living being will will be left on

earth.

Everything will be destroyed if if he were

to punish us immediately,

every time we do something wrong. But Allah

subhanahu wa'ala alaykaim, he gives us time to

repent.

So the part of the ayah that says

that Allah subhanahu wa'ala forgives us if we

do something wrong, ignorantly or recklessly.

Ignorantly, like you didn't know.

Recklessly, like you knew, but you didn't care.

Every Muslim knows

that setting forth who are dealing with reba

is calm. Right?

So they know the ruling, but they don't

care. So this is recklessly.

And there are those who do sins ignorantly.

They either don't know the ruling or they

know the ruling, but they make a mistake.

Right?

We do that all the time in a

gada for example. How many times have you

prayed the salah, rakatay salah at the end?

To salah.

Like you say a kiya when you are

standing and instead of fatha,

then you are sitting down, you do alfatha

instead of tashaw. A lot of people do

it. Right?

Or you are thinking about exams, you do

salamataktukah

and salatul voodoo. We do it all the

time. Right? But Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala forgives.

There are so many other mistakes that we

do in the salaat, and we don't know

about it. We just move on, and the

prophet says salaatul soon and before and after

we'll take care of that.

So mistakes in Siams, we can give we

can talk to all of us about mistakes

in Siam. Right?

The easiest one of them is you eat

or drink by mistake. And the prophet says

Allah will forgive you because Allah forgives us

if we do something wrong by mistake.

I am not sure if last year I

mentioned the story of the sister,

who I've been Muslim for a couple of

years. And one time I I was visiting

their fashion and she came to me and

said, well, I've been fasting for 2 years,

but I wanna see if I'm fasting the

right way. So I said, how do you

fast? So she said, well, I wake up

in the morning,

as the book says,

and I have a good meal, then I

continue my fasting till sunset, then falafsifthar.

So I said, what time do you wake

up in the morning? See, she said, well,

10, 11, it depends. Right? So she did

this for 2 years,

like, 2 hours before the book, she would

she would wake up and eat and continue

her fast. And I told them, you have

to do it before Falah, but she didn't

have to make up the 2 months in

the 2 past years because she didn't know

the rule that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will

forgive.

There is a story of the

it happened to me about 3 4 years

ago. I was in Edmonton at the time.

I set up I set my alarm and

I went to the masjid as I normally

do, so the alarm rang.

Me and my wife, we have the, the

sahur. I have I I eat a small

sahur, like, small yogurt and half a oramil.

Right? Then

I went to the Masjid on time as

I always do. I found only 2 cars.

Normally, for Masjid Masjid Rashid, you get at

least a 1000 people or 1500 people. For

Salat al Tuma, you get at least 5,000

people. 8, 15,000. Right? So I went

only 2 cars, and that was, like, the

10th, 11th day of Ramadan. I said, okay.

Ramadan Muslims, they come all in the 1st

few days, then no one comes for salatul

teshit. Right? Then I went inside, only a

couple of guys were sitting there reading Quran.

No one is doing adhan. No one is

doing a qaman. No one is praying. Suna,

what is this? So I told

not gonna mention the company, had a problem

with their phone, and every single one in

the masjid who is with their company came

asking the same question. I had Sahkod,

one hour of confession. And I told them,

I mentioned this, if you make a mistake,

then Allah will

forgive you because you didn't know, and ignorance

or mistake is, is is,

an excuse in Islam.

Another brother, and this is the last thing,

from Egypt, he said, we know the tradition

in Egypt. 5, 10 minutes before Adad, you

sit around the table looking at the, you

know, you can't move. Right? The soup, the

chicken, all the food. Right? So he said

that his son,

Alfred. Right? He got inside the the room,

the bedroom,

and he imitated the voice of the Moakan

in the nearby Hashem. Everyone started to eat.

10 minutes later, they realized that the, the

Moakan is making the Avan now. Right? So,

they ate before the thing. So, in this

case Allah forgave them. Same thing happened at

the time of the prophet, Hassan

went down. They ate inside Muslim and

5, 10 minutes later the sun came up

again. It was a cloudy day, so they

didn't know. They thought it was sensitive and

the prophet said continue your fast. No problem.

That was a mistake and Allah Subhanahu Wa

Ta'ala will forgive you. We ask Allah

to forgive us all in this one.
