Mustafa Khattab – Shaitan in Ramadan

You

So it's almost the middle of the month,

and in a few days, inshallah, the month

of Ramadan

will be over. We'll say goodbye to this

great month, and it will be another year

before we can see the month again. And

who knows? Maybe

some of us will not be there to

see this month again.

So we ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to

give us the life

to live up to this month and to

get the blessings of that month, and if

Allah

has written us for our suddah before we

get to that month, inshaAllah, that He will

give us Jannah and accept our fasting and

our good deeds. Today, the topic is about

the struggle

between

man and the shaytan in the month of

Ramadan.

Whether you will succeed in this month or

fail

will pretty much,

depend on whether you win the battle against

the shaitan or not in this month.

Fahadah, this is the topic for the Khuba

today.

So in the Arabic language, the word

shaitan,

which is in English, Satan, is derived is

taken from the Arabic language.

The word shaitan is taken from the verb

shabana, which is to be away from the

mercy of Allah subhanahu wa'ala.

The word in sad, which is human or

mad in Arabic, is derived from the verb

nasiya, which is to forget.

So humans forget.

They forget 2 things. Number 1, the reason

why they are here,

why they are in this life. And the

reason is given in Surat Al Dhariyad,

The reason is I have not created

And the second thing they forget, they forget

that shaitan is an enemy to them, as

Allah says many times, many times in the

Look at the last two verses of the

I see the protection of Allah from

So Allah says it's in the Quran that

there are 2 types of shayateen, the jinni

So take him as an enemy. Don't take

him as a friend, as Allah says in

Surat Al Kahf.

So don't take the shaitan as a friend,

but take him as an enemy.

The goal of the shaitan is to make

you

and other humans

his assembly in the hellfire because misery loves

company.

We know for sure that the shaytan will

be in the hellfire,

and he doesn't want there to be there

by himself.

He loves to have a company, and it's

simple.

So this is the objective, and this is

the reality of the shaytan.

So the intention

if we talk about siyam fasting, for example,

the shaitan will let you fast. Okay. No

problem. You'll be fasting for 17, 18, 19

hours, no food, no drink.

Only thing they will get from fasting is

hunger or thirst. Nothing else.

0 reward.

So this point is basically

saying to the other junkies with him, the

other criminals,

when the

last 10 days of Shaba' come, drink day

and night because there's no time.

Prophet salallahu

alaihi wa sallam fasted before Ramadan in Shaba'

as Aisha radiAllahu anha said, and he fasted

in Shaba' right after Ramadan in the 6

days.

So this is regarding the fasting.

Had been ordered to make sujood

before Allah and before Adam and he refused.

But you you

have been ordered to make sujood to Allah

subhanahu wa ta'ala and you do make sujood.

So this drives him nuts.

He's comparing you to himself.

Humans are obedient. I'm disobedient because I refuse

to make sujood to Allah. So what he

will do? Okay.

He will either try to stop you from

praying, or even if you pray, he will

try to miss out your salah.

So in Salat al Fashr,

the Mu'addin will say,

prayer is better than sleep.

And the shaitan will make adhan in your

ears and say, no. No. No. No. No.

Don't listen to this guy,

So the shayta is trying to deceive you

all the time. To lose that salah, he

will whisper to you in the salah.

Amay is the 1st rakah, 3rd rakah, 5th

rakah. Do I have wudu in the first?

So you lose the reward, you lose the

focus

in the salah. And this is what the

shaytan does.

The shaitan

scares you

of poverty,

and he motivates you to evil deeds, to

do evil deeds. And Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

promises you great bounties

and forgiveness.

So every time you try to make salah

covers, Zakat al Shaitan will come to you.

Hey, bro.

You'll be homeless.

You'll not be able to put food on

the table. So the shaitan is always warning

you on poverty, and Allah, on the other

other hand, is promising you great rewards and

forgiveness agenda.

The doors of Hibbib

are wide open, and the doors of the

hellfire are closed, and the shayateen are chained.

How come you said they whisper

and they are detained and chained, incarcerated

in prison?

How come?

So some will say, you said that the

shaitan is chained, but what about the crimes

that take place in Ramadan?

adultery,

lying,

cheating, killing. All these things, they happen in

the day of Ramadan. So

why are you saying that shaitan is chained?

Remember we said

that it is true that the shaitan, the

jinni shaitan might be chained.

But what about the human chanting?

They're no longer the place. And

also, what about your desires and following your

lower desire

and and and the lower self that you

have? So people follow their desire.

Also, the scholars like Iftabiyyah, Iftabiyyah,

Iftabiyyah,

Iftubiyyah,

they said that you have the key for

the prison of the shaitan in your hand.

It's up to you to release it

or lock it up.

If you follow the guidance, then Muhammad Ali,

Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, will open the doors of

Jannah for you, will make it easy for

you to come close to Allah. But if

you do choose to set the shaitan free,

then the only one to blame is who?

The only thing you need to do when

if the jinni shayateen whispered to you, seek

protection in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, and Allah

is sufficient

for you as a protector.

What about the human shayate

in an authentic hadith in Muslim Ahmed narrated

by Abu Brayyur Radiullah Anhu. The prophet

says, you are as good or evil as

your friends and companions,

so make sure that you select your friends

and companions

carefully.
