A couple of announcements before we begin. The
first one, we need, sponsorships for iftar, inshaAllah.
So if you're interested, you can talk to
Burlak Salam.
The second one, some people like to leave
early or they have an emergency and they
couldn't leave because someone is blocking their car.
So make sure you're not blocking anyone, inshallah.
I remember when I was in South Carolina,
2008,
2,009, 2010,
there were, like, 2 extreme examples in that
masjid. The first one was a brother.
The 2nd day of Ramadan,
every year he would come today, he would
come to me and say, okay, when is
8?
I told him we just started yesterday. What
are you talking about? And
every year, like, on 29th
Ramadan, he used to watch for the moon
and everything. So he would come to me
and say, brother, please, Abu's Eid, make Eid
tomorrow.
And I said, well, they are looking for
the moon, and I don't have the remote
in my hand, you know? It's not in
my hands. We you know? Come on. Relax.
So that night, when we announced that tomorrow
is actually Eid, he was happy, he was
dancing in the street, and he was giving
out candy to the kids. Right? So this
is one extreme.
The other one was an older sister. She
was in her eighties, diabetic,
heart problems.
She wanted to fast every day in Ramadan.
I told her you don't have to. Her
her son
was a doctor, and he told her don't
fast. Right? She was going to the doctor
all the time. She was taking medication, but
she insisted on fasting. Because she believed
that if she didn't fast Ramadan, Allah would
never forgive
her. And she would come again every night
and cry that she wanted to stand up
in salah. She had back problems, and I
told her you don't have to stand up.
You can sit down. No. She wanted to
stand up, although it was painful for her.
And I told her
Allah says in the Quran, which
most people translate wrongly. They say that Allah
does not burden anyone with more they can
bear. It doesn't say burden in the ayah.
It says Allah does not require of you
more than what you can afford.
Right? Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala makes it easy
for you. You don't have to kill yourself
to give the reward. Just do your best,
and Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will give you
the reward for doing your best, even if
your best is not good enough.
And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala Khaneem, every time
he talks about the ruling in the Quran
I love this word in the Quran, illa,
except, except.
So if Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is telling
you to make Udu in a certain way,
then he said, but those who are except
those who are not able to make Udu,
they can make Tayamu.
Stand up in salah, if you can't, sit
down.
Fast Ramadan, but except those who can't fast,
they are traveling, or they are sick, or
they are very old,
they don't have to fast, they can feed
a poor person, and so on and so
forth. It depends on their ruling.
So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala makes it easy
for us. Then someone will ask the question,
okay,
before the question.
We read in the Quran, Surah BaTirah,
especially because we're focusing on this Surah, it
talks about all the Ibadat.
It talks about Salah. It talks about Ramadan
and fasting. It talks about Zakah. It talks
about Hajj, and so on and so forth.
And it says that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
that you read Ullaahu Bikum wa il Surah
while I read Ubiqum Ras. Ayah 185 in
Surah Ba'at Allah, it says Allah intends every
ease for you,
and he doesn't want to make things difficult
for you.
So even if you want to make Tawba,
you say Allah forgive me, Allah will forgive
you. In the same Surah,
in the story of Bani Israel, when they
made a major sin,
the, way to repent was to kill themselves.
Kill yourselves,
and this way Allah will forgive you. We
know
that in Bani Israel, if there was an
impurity, like you are carrying your baby, and
the baby happened to urinate on your clothes,
the only way to fix that is to
cut it off and patch it. We know
in Islam, you just clean it, al khalas.
You're clean. If you make a mistake, you
say Allah forgive me, Allah forgive you. Now
someone will ask, okay,
you're kidding
me. 1 month of fasting, 30 days? Sometimes
it comes in the summertime, sometimes in the
wintertime, sometimes in the fall, sometimes in the
spring. Too much for me.
Five prayers every day. You look at the
Christians, they go to the church one day
in a week. So technically, we pray in
one day more than what they pray in
a month.
What where is the ease?
2.5%
I work all year long, and I have
to share my mind with someone who is
sleeping on their bed, and they don't want
to work. Where is the easiness?
Well, you have to look at the hikmah
of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala. Yes. Ramadan comes
when,
you know, sometimes in the summer, sometimes in
the spring, sometimes in the winter. You know,
there is a ruling in fiqh. When you
pray in the masjid sunnah or even farr
namas, it is better to pray in different
places.
Don't stick to one place. Why? Because they
say this place will make shafa'ah for you
on the day of judgment, and this place,
and that place, and that place. And also
when you fast Ramadan in the spring, in
the summer, in the fall, in the winter,
maybe these different seasons will make shafa'ah for
you. The summer will say, you Allah.
Yes. He fasted in the summer. The spring
will say, You Allah. He fasted in the
spring and in the winter. They will make
Shafa'ah for you. So it's a good thing.
Plus,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala would have told you
to fast the whole year. He didn't say
that. He said, fast Ramadan,
6 days of Shawwal, I will give you
the reward for the whole year.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is generous, and Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala could have told you to
pray 50 times a day, you know, from
the hadith, when the prophet
made the journey.
But no. You pray 5 times a day,
namaz, you get the reward of 50. Allah
subhanahu wa ta'ala is kareem. Allah subhanahu wa
ta'ala gives you the money. He gives you
lots of money,
and
he will send a poor person to give
you the reward, and Allah tells you to
give him 2.5%,
then Allah will give you 700%
in reward.
Where in the world you put $1 in
the bank, and they give you 700%.
It never happens. So Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
makes it super easy for you. He's asking
you to do a little bit, like he
could have asked you to pay 70 or
80% in zakat. He could have asked you
to fast every day in the in in
the year. He could have asked to make
you Hajj every year. But no. Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala la yukalifmunafsan
ila usa. He does not require of you
more than what you can afford. The last
thing I want to say
about the generosity of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
in Jannah.
Someone was asking, do I have to pray
in Jannah? There's no salah in Jannah. There's
no fasting or Hajj or Zakat. Nothing in
Jannah. The only Ibadah that we do in
Jannah is mentioned in Surah Yoon Suratin.
The only rebadah we'll do in Jannah is
to say SubhanakAllahuma.
And we say Alhamdulillahi
rabbilalami. That's all.
Then on the Day of Judgment, this beautiful
hadith and Sahib Muslim Allah
will bring those people who used to fast
30 days in Ramadan,
pray 5 times a day, wake up like
3 in the morning for fast, cold time.
They go to the masjid.
Those who went for Hajj, those who gave
Zakah, and Allah
will take them one time in Jannah.
One second, and He will take them out.
It's an authentic hadith Rasayi Muslim, and Allah
would ask them,
Yaniharulaaaitun
shaka'a al qatufid dunya? Did you suffer at
all in dunya?
What about the long days of fasting? What
about the 5 times a day? What about
the Hajj, 10,000 miles to do the Hajj?
They will say, You Allah,
You Allah, we don't remember any of that.
All the pain is gone. All the suffering
is gone. Just one dip in Jannah. One
second in Jannah, you will forget all the
pain and all the suffering, and nayeem, pleasure
in Jannah, for eternity. We ask the most,
subhanahu wa'ala, to give us the reward for
our fasting, to give us the Shafa'at of
the Prophet SAW. SAW. SAW. And Naim al
Mutim. So the question for last night,
there was a baby in the Quran who
spoke when he was only a few days
old, and the winner is brother Kareem. Is
he here tonight? Karim, BashaAllah. Over here.
BashaAllah.
Takbeer. Takbeer.
He was the first one to give the
answer, right away. No Googling, nothing. Shasha Allah.
Assalamu Alaikum Lawhi.
JazakAllah
Khulafi. So the question for tonight is, easy.
We mentioned that all the ayaats in the
Quran were revealed in Mecca or in Madinah.
There were 2 of them revealed in, the
heavens, Reghlat al Mi'raj, where the Prophet sallallahu
alaihi wa sallam received the order to pray.
The ayat that say, a manar Rasoolu bi
ma'amuzilalayhi marabbi till the end of Surah Baqarah.
There's only 1 ayah in the Quran out
of the 3, 6,326
aya of the Quran. Only one Ayat was
revealed inside the Kaaba. If you know that
Ayat, email me before, tomorrow at [email protected].
