There was a brother.

His name was Cassius Clay.

He was 12 years old.

So at the age of sorry. At the

age of 12,

his bike was stolen.

And because he came from a poor family

in Kentucky, in the US,

his

bike being stolen, this is the worst thing

that could happen to him.

So after his bike was stolen, he was

very angry, he went to the police station

and he reported it to an officer, and

the officer said Okay, so what if you

find the guy, the hearses, the chore, who

stole your bike? What will you do?

He said, I'm gonna beat him up.

So he said, do you know how to

fight? He said, no. So he said, you

gotta learn how to fight to defend your

bike and defend yourself.

This brother,

after 20, 25 years,

his fortune was $54,000,000

from boxing.

Do you know who this brother is? Mohammed

Ali. Mohammed Ali. MashaAllah.

Good job.

Good candy. Alright. So those who know me

well, they know that, they will get two

things from me, good stories and diabetes, because

I always give candy.

So,

back then when Muhammad Ali was 12 years

old,

when his bike was stolen, that was the

worst thing that happened to him. But maybe

if his bike was not stolen,

maybe he wouldn't have gotten into this boxing

business, and he wouldn't have been a millionaire

or a famous person because of it. Who

knew?

Who knew?

This will lead us to talk about this

ayah in Surah Baqarah, surah

2, ayah number 216.

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says,

So Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says, maybe you

will hate something, and it is the best

thing that has ever happened to you. And

maybe you will like something very much, and

it turns out to be the worst thing

that has ever happened to you, but Allah

knows you don't know anything.

So what happens when something happens,

we just look at a small bit of

the picture, but Allah

knows the whole picture. So He knows everything.

So we shouldn't complain

or cry to death when something bad happens,

and we shouldn't be

elevated and dancing in the streets when something

good happens, because you never know what things

will end up to. You never know the

end result of things.

I'm gonna give a few examples from the

life of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam and

the prophets and and even our whole lives

to show you that something will begin good

and it will end bad, something will begin

bad and it will end good. So you

have to trust it all in the hands

of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

So, for example, something bad that turned out

to be something good, the best example in

the Quran is in Surah Yusuf, Surah 12,

his brothers threw him in the well, they

tried to kill him, He was sold into

slavery. He was thrown into jail. You know,

the lady of Al Aziz was busting all

these moves. She she was trying to tempt

it and seduce him, and he he ended

up being thrown into jail. So what happened?

Because he was thrown in the well,

and because he was sold into slavery, and

because he was thrown in jail, he became,

Al Aziz, the most or the strongest person

in Egypt. He was the highest ranking person

in Egypt after the king.

So if he stayed with his family, maybe

he wouldn't have made it into the top.

So you have to keep in your mind

that you have to trust it in the

hands of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and trust

the Qadr of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

When her husband died,

she was devastated.

Umuhad, umu Musalaba, one of the greatest Sahaba

of the prophet sallahu alaihi wa sallam. And

the prophet sallahu alaihi wa sallam taught them

in Sayyid Muslim to say when something bad

happened, when a disaster strikes, to say Allahum

Majjoonifu Musi Bati waqlufniqayramina.

Oh Allah, give me the reward for my

patience in this difficult time, and give me

something better than what you have taken from

me. So, Ummus Salam alayhi lawala used to

make this Dua, and she used to laugh,

and and she would say who is better

than Abu Salam?

So after her Idda, the Prophet sallallahu alaihi

wa'alaam proposed, and the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa'alaam

married her. So after she got married to

the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa'alaam, she used to

say Wallahi, the Prophet SAWHANNAH is a 1000000

times better than Abu Salaam.

So her husband died, that was a devastating

experience, but Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala gave her

something better.

So something happened, something bad happens, so Allah

could give you something good, or something bad

could happen, so Allah

would prevent something worse

from happening.

I heard the story of a journalist

who missed a flight

to Europe many years back,

and he went back home, he was crying,

oh, I missed the flight. He was crying,

right, every step of the way. First thing

in the morning, he read in the paper

that the plane he was about to take

crashed in the Mediterranean,

and all the people were dead.

You never know. So he missed the flight,

so Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will save him

from something worse. There was a brother from

Egypt who was traveling from Cairo Cairo to

Alexandria. It's a 3, 4 hour drive.

His car broke down on the way, so

he couldn't he couldn't make it to, to

his house in Alexandria,

so he had to stay in a hotel

or a motel on the way, and he

was not happy. You know?

Why? Why did that happen?

Turned out,

next day when he went to his house

in Alexandria, the roof fell on his bed.

It's a true story. So he he made

salida and he said Alhamdulillah, if I made

it on time, if my car didn't break

down, then I would have been on that

bed, I don't I would have been crushed

to to pieces. Right? So you never know.

So if something bad happens, you say Alhamdulillah.

If something good happens, say Alhamdulillah.

Something good that happens, and it turns out

to be a disaster

I know a brother from Vancouver. I visited

Vancouver. I stayed there for a while a

few years back. He told me his life

story. He said, about 30, 35 years ago,

he got married to a Canadian lady,

and he was desperate. He said, I wanted

a son. I was praying day and night,

You Allah, give me a son. Because they

were mad for a year or 2, they

didn't have a son, and he was crying.

He went to all the doctors in the

British Columbia. He wanted a son this prickly.

So Allah

gave him a son.

A year or 2 years later, they had

a pool in the backyard.

His son filled in that pool, and no

one was watching.

His son was on life support

for many, many years.

Of course,

his marriage life,

fell apart. He divorced his wife. His life

was devastated. He lost a lot of money.

And when he told me the story a

few years ago, he said, wallahi,

now I wish that Allah never gave me

that baby. You never know. Some of you

are desperate.

You see a sister. You study with her.

You go to school with her. You know,

you work with her. You're you want to

marry her desperately.

And you tell your dad, if I don't

marry this girl, I'm gonna kill myself.

So finally, everyone approves, you get married, it

turns out that the sister is crazy. Majnoon.

It turns your life into a living now.

Some of the sisters are desperate to marry

a brother.

Right? I want to marry this guy. They

make istikhar. No. I want to marry this

guy. I love him so much. So they

marry the guy, turns out the guy bites.

Majnoon. Crazy. Right? So you never know.

So put your trust in Allah subhanahu wa

ta'ala. If Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gives you

something, accept it and say, Alhamdulillah.

Why? Because Allah sees the whole picture, we

always see a small part of it. So

put your trust in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

If something bad happens, don't cry to death.

If something good happens, don't be dancing in

the street because you never know how the

end will be. So this is a lesson

for today, inshaAllah. So,

the question for last night, we know that

the Ayat of the Quran were either revealed

in Mecca or in Medina.

Only 2 ayats were revealed in the heavens

when the prophet

took that journey, the night journey, and these

2 ayats are the last 2 ayats of

Surah Baqarah, Ahamanal Rasool bi maroonzil ilahi all

the way to the end of Surah Baqarah,

and the winner is brother Saad Ziyya.
