Or listening to a lecture about Islam. Of
course, Farb is more important.
Which is more important, listening to a short
thought for about 5 to 7 minutes or
praying to rakha sunnah? All the scholars agree,
listening to a lecture about Islam to increase
your iman or to learn about halal and
haram
is is more important than turakasun.
You can pray turakasun at any time, inshaAllah.
So with that being said, inshaAllah. And of
course, the reason is,
some of the beautiful faces I see right
now, inshaAllah, I will never see after Ramadan.
So it's good inshaAllah that I talk to
you, and I get you to love the
masjid and love Islam and increase your iman
inshaAllah. So hopefully, we'll see you again inshaAllah.
We We're open after Ramadan.
That's for sure.
Yeah.
So,
of course, those of you who have been
married for a long time,
raise your hand.
You have been married for quite some time.
Only 5 guys?
Why are you afraid?
Okay. I understand. I totally understand.
So,
if you have been married for a long
time, I think by now you have figured
this out. One of the survival techniques
I'm gonna give you 3 words, which are
considered one of the most important survival techniques
in the marriage for you as a husband.
So if you master these three words, insha'Allah,
you will live a happy marriage, and you
will succeed.
Otherwise,
AasubhanAllah, he died peacefully in his sleep. They
don't know what happened. So these three words
are,
honey,
you are right,
I'm sorry,
let's go shopping.
So if you know these three words, inshallah,
no problem whatsoever.
There is a lot of problem, however,
that whenever we go shopping,
we always go with a small list of
about 5, 7 items, and we come out
with a list with, 25 items. So what
happens?
Sometimes you go there, and I tell you
what, especially when you are fasting,
this is psychologically
true, you feel like you are going to
eat everything.
You want to buy everything.
So my advice, never go shopping while you're
fasting.
Go after Iftar or go after Ramadan.
Okay.
So
so what happens? You go to them stores,
and, they have stuff like
snorkeling stuff, you know? You dive in the
ocean with the, you know, these things.
You don't even know how to swim, but
your wife will say,
Oh, it's for $250.
You know? Outside the sail, it's for $2,000.
You know? We'll feel like idiots if we
don't buy the stuff, but we don't know
how to swim. It doesn't matter. It's on
sale, man. You gotta buy it. I visited
1 brother in Saint Catherine's.
Well, I had he had a boat.
It's kind of, you know, light boat.
He said it has been on the wall
for 10 years,
and he used it only twice in 10
years. And he bought it for, like, 2,
$3,000.
Right? So this kind of waste.
So inshallah, when you go,
make sure you buy the stuff you need,
not the stuff you want. What is the
difference? It's easy. The stuff you need is
the stuff you can't survive without. Like food,
drink,
fridge,
clothing, so on and so forth. The stuff
you want is the stuff you can't survive
without.
Like more video games, like an extra TV
in, the kid's bedroom, all that stuff. Right?
So
wasting in Ramadan. This is the point. So
this is the introduction and this is the
point now. Wasting in Ramadan. We waste a
lot in this month. So as I said,
when we take when we go to someone's
house for iftar, we go to the places
where they provide Iftar, we feel like we're
hungry, we're gonna eat everything.
Especially the kids. If they are fasting or
they are hungry, they take a lot, and
many of us end up wasting,
I would say, 60, 70 percent of the
food. We never finish it. Right?
Sometimes when I invite people to our houses,
especially in some cultures, we would like to
show off and, mashaAllah, we are generous, we
have money, so we invite 7 people to
your house, you make food for 50.
You end up throwing the food. I know,
because I come from that culture. Right?
Our problem is we don't eat leftovers,
most of the time. We like to eat
fresh.
If you keep the food in the fridge
for next day, no one will eat it.
You give it to your kids, no,
you hate me, you make me miserable,
biryani everyday, I'm not gonna eat it.
You might as well cook something new for
them. Right? And subhanAllah, food is wasted all
the time. In the US, the statistics show
at least 45%
to 50 or even 60% of the food
in the whole country is thrown in the
garbage.
Whereas, there are millions of people who are
starving to death because they don't have something
to eat.
So this is with regard to the food.
Of course,
those of you who have seen, who are
following the parliament, there was an imbi an
imbi from Ajax, non Muslim.
He was saying, and that was on TV,
that he last year he fasted the whole
Ramadan,
and he donated all the money, he saved
from not eating for a whole month to
the poor. And he said, This something I
learned from Muslims.
Because when they fast, they give a lot
in charity, and of course the people gave
him a standing ovation and they were clever.
Right? So this is something we need to
to do because this is something that is
part of our faith.
Water is the same thing. Water is the
same thing. We waste a lot of water.
I said before that the Prophet salallahu alayhi
wa sallam, for his wudu, and this is
based on authentic hadith, he used that much
for his wudu.
Four times this for his wudu. Full shower!
Right? So this much for his wudu.
Some of us, this is not even enough
to wash your mouth. Right? We waste, we
waste. And I always say, sometimes you go
to the washroom for wudu,
if you have a mirror in your washroom,
take it out.
Why? Because you go there, make wudu,
you look at yourself in the mirror, MashaAllah,
you look at yourself in the eye, and
Oh, MashaAllah, I've got a beautiful, beautiful eyes.
You stand there for like 10, 15 minutes,
and the water is running. Brushing your teeth
is the same problem, we waste a lot
of water, gallons and gallons of water,
Brushing your teeth is the same problem, we
waste a lot of water. Gallons and gallons
of water.
You take a shower.
Tens and tens of gallons of water are
wasted. You stand there, mashallah.
Because of the echo, you like to sing,
Oh mashallah.
I will survive. All these things. Right? All
these songs.
So, wasting water.
I'm not going to talk about Africa and
the brothers from Islamic Relief who go there,
they tell you that people walk for miles
just to get that much of dirty water
to to drink. Right? They don't have access
to clean water. And here, mashaAllah, we're wasting
water all the time.
In North America, there's already water problem. You
read about California? They are in big trouble
now. They don't have clean water, because it
it didn't rain for a long time. Detroit?
This is a joke, man. They don't have
access to clean water in Detroit, right here.
Right? Across the border. So it's not far
away from us. So make sure insha'Allah you
don't waste water, you don't waste food.
Another way of wasting, and I'll conclude with
this insha'Allah, talking too much.
This is another waste. Of course, Allah subhanahu
wa ta'ala says in the Qur'an,
eat and drink, but don't waste.
Say for talking.
Ladasawaanashyaa'i'tu,
itu darakmul dasool. Don't ask about things that
if they become clear to you, maybe they
they will disturb you. And don't, walataqfumaalai salakabiran.
Don't talk about things that you don't know.
Right? So don't talk too much. One of
the things we learn about Muhammad SAWS is
that he didn't talk too much. He spoke
only when there was a reason to talk,
and he told us.
If you have something good to say, alhamdulillah,
otherwise keep your mouth shut.
Because if you keep talking, you're gonna talk
about this person and that person, and you
will end up losing your hasala. So make
sure inshaAllah you don't waste food, water, energy
in this month. Help those who are in
need if you fast. At the end of
the day, 17 hours of fasting,
you have a relief at the end of
the day. You can eat at home, do
all the Mas'an will provide iftar, but there
are some brothers and sisters who fast in
some Muslim countries. I'm not gonna name them.
There are 100 of thousands of them who
don't have a relief at the end of
the day. They have nothing to eat. And
I'm gonna leave you with this small story,
from a Muslim country in Africa. I'm not
gonna name it. So the brother called,
TV show in the Muslim world, for Fatwa,
and he said, You Sheikh, I know that
the prophet
said, when you fast in Ramadan, don't fast
at night.
This is not acceptable.
Is our fasting valid? Because in my country,
in my neighborhood,
many of the time we don't have something
to eat, so sometimes we spend the whole
night without food. Is our fasting valid or
not?
So, remember this story every time you waste
food or water, we ask Allah Subhanahu Wa
Ta'ala to give us the best in this
life, and the best in the life to
come. So
the question for last night, what is the
last Ayah revealed of the Qur'an? Of course
there are difference amongst scholars, but the chosen
one. Most of the scholars say that the
last ayah revealed of the Quran is ayah
281 of Surah Baqarah.
These these were the last words that came
from the heavens.
For 1000 of years, the revelations were coming
down, but this is the last ayah. Now
the heavens is closed, no more revelations. The
last ayah, halas.
Be mindful of the day you will all
be returned to Allah for judgment,
and everyone will be accountable for their deeds.
No one will be wronged, whatsoever.
So this is the last ayat. It talks
about judgment, the day of PM.
So the winner is finally brother Zia Mahboob.
He's been trying every single night. Masha Allah.
Mujahid.
Walaqalawik Takbir.
Walaqalawik.
Wazaqalawik.
So the question for tonight is quite difficult,
and don't consult with Google because you will
they will give you the wrong answer.
Talk to your wife. That's my advice.
She knows everything, alhamdulillah. So the question is,
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gave wahi,
revelation to a lot of people in the
Quran, all the different Prophets. Muhammad Musa 'alayhi
wa sallam. There's only one woman in the
Quran who received wahi from the from Allah.
Allah says, I gave wahi to that woman.
She is not a prophet, of course. If
you know that woman, email me before email
me tomorrow anytime inshallah at imamalatulahatulatulacenter.sa.
