I have a question today for everyone. So
on the way back home, ask yourself this
this question.
What is your legacy?
What is your legacy? Every one of us
should have a legacy.
So ask yourself, okay, what is my legacy?
So someone will say, well, my legacy is
every night I made sure I took the
amount of parking spot.
Well, this is not a good legacy. Right?
It's not good.
But the legacy is something that when you
stand before Allah
for judgment,
this will make you stand out.
The best generation of Muslims is the generation
of the Sahaba, of the Prophet SAW. Whenever
you say salam khalil al khairulquruni
karni.
The best generation is the generation of my
Sahaba.
And some of the, Shi'uks, they said, even
subhanAllah, when you look at the word karni,
it refers to the generation of Muhammad, sasil,
Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali. Because if
you look at the word karni,
the kaf,
the word as Siddiq, Abu Bakr ends with
a kaf.
Ra, the end of Umar. Umar. Ra at
the end. Ka Ra. Usman ended with a
noon. Qarn. Wa'ali ended
with a ya.
Qarni.
Right? I think this is this is Latifa.
This is something nice.
So now when you look at the Sahaba
of the prophet salallahu alayhi wa sallam, of
course they had some amazing qualities. They were
the best, they were the finest,
but every one of them, there was something
special about each and every one of them.
Yani. Say for example, when you think of
Abu Bakr alayhi lawa'an, what comes to your
mind? Of course, he had so many good
qualities, but there is one thing
that made him stand out. Yes?
He always believed in the first lie Surzali
Yusuf? Assent, mashaAllah.
His sincerity and his dedication to the cause
of Muhammad SAW.
This is his legacy.
If you think of Umar radhiallahu anhu, his
justice.
Maruth
bi'adlihi.
When you think about Usma radhiallahu anhu, his
generosity.
When you think of Ali
his bravery and his dedication.
Right? So each and every one of them
has a legacy.
When you think of Arul Bayt
Arul Bayt and Nabi
we love them, and they are the best,
the finest after Muhammad
They
were known for their tahara,
zakal, and their purity and generosity.
And had to Ahad Arul Bayt
Jafar, and he is a descendant of the
prophet
and he can't get a sataq katheeran. And
he maybe he had a tijara, he had
a business, but he used to give a
lot of money for sataqah.
And someone said, okay, Like, you're wasting a
lot of money, like, you're giving most of
your money for salakah. What is this?
So he said something amazing. He said, I
have a habit with Allah
and Allah has a habit with me.
My habit
with him is that I'm generous with his
creation,
the people, like I said. And Allah's habit
with me is that he's generous with me.
So I'm afraid if I cut off my
habit with his creation, with his people, he's
going to cut off his habit with me.
Right?
And the prophet
believed in specialization.
He knew that each and every one of
the Sahaba had a special quality.
And let's say for example, when it was
time for the kamatul salah,
Then, the prophet
would have called Abu Bakr rur Umar anyone
from the Sahaba.
But no, he chose Bilal
because he stood out for having a beautiful
voice.
1 of the Sahaba, Abu Hurayla, radiAllahu anhu,
he stood out for memorization of hadith.
A lot of us think
that Abu Huraira,
who was Muslim for so many years with
Muhammad SAW Salam, Abu Huraira
was one of the last people to believe
in Islam. He was only Muslim for 3
years
with Muhammad
Literally,
he spent
1,000 days with Muhammad
and he reported about 5,500
hadith or more. That's more than five Hadith
everyday
for a 1000 a 1000 days.
So each and every one of the sahaba
had a special quality, a legacy
that made him stand out. Khadija
for her karam and support for Muhammad
Sawada bintizamaha,
the wife of the prophet,
umun Masaikin. She used to take care of
the poor, and she used to provide for
them. So now I've given some examples. There
are so many examples, but I think these
are enough
to make the point
that each and every one of us should
have a legacy.
So now what is your legacy? Your legacy
could be something like, well, I raised Muslim
kids.
There are successful Canadians and there are Muslim
kids.
My legacy could be, well, volunteering my time.
My legacy could be helping people.
My legacy could be making itama or adhan
for for salahir.
My legacy could be, like, you know, providing
for someone or,
you know, helping with
donating to the masjid, taking care of the
masjid, for example. This is this is a
very good Lacy. And on Yamuqiyava,
we know that the gates of Jannah this
is the last thing I will say, inshallah.
The last the the gates of Jannah, there
are 8 of them,
and each one of us will go to
Jannah based on their legacy.
So say, for example, if someone's legacy in
dunya, their fasting was the best. This is
the best thing they did.
Then Allah
according to, in the hadith of the prophet
this person will go to Jannah through the
gate of Arayan because this is the best.
This is what made them stand out.
Someone's best i'dala in dunya was salah, they
will go to Jannah through the door of
Salah. Someone will go through the door of
sadaqa and zakah, according to the hadith of
Muhammad
Each one of the 8 doors has a
special quality,
and this is your legacy. If you're good
at one of those, you will go to
Jannah through that particular door. And Abu Bakr
radiAllahu alaihi wa'amu said, You Rasulullah,
what if someone is good at all of
these things? Like sadaqah,
zakah, siyam, salah, and so on and so
forth. So the prophet said,
the person will be called to Jannah from
each of all of these doors, and I
hope that Abu Bakr
would be one of them.
If Allah
blessed you with health, help people.
If he blessed you with time, volunteer.
If he blessed you with a beautiful voice,
make a vam. And if Allah
blessed you with money,
help those who are in need, including the
house of Allah
With that being said, tomorrow at Jum'ah,
we have, our annual fundraiser to pay for
the utilities, the electric electricity, the power, the
water, the maintenance, and, insurance, all the expenses
of the masjid. So make sure, inshallah, you
come prepared tomorrow, and we ask Allah Subhanahu
Wa Ta'ala to accept from you, and we
ask Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to admit you
to Jannah from all of these gates, You
Rabbir Alameen.
The question for last night was about tasting
food while fasting. The answer is yes, you
can taste,
the food but make sure you spit it
out and rinse your mouth and, and this
should be enough
And, his brother Amir here?
Amir Rasfur?
Amir Rasfur. So he won the prize, but
I'm gonna give it to him, tomorrow
And the question for tonight,
you started your fasting Ramadan in Canada,
and you are traveling, like middle of the
month you are going back home to spend
the rest of the month with your family.
So what if they fasted on different days?
And let's say for example we fasted here
Wednesday,
they fasted over there on Thursday.
So what do you do when they have
their Eid day? I know it's kind of
complicated, you need to do a lot of
research,
but if you know the answer, email me
before tomorrow
