Mustafa Khattab – Ramadan Muslims
AI: Summary ©
The upcoming month of Brah is highlighted as the 30th of the year, with events like the Islamic Academy and a message to be forgiven. The three groups of people afraid of Islam's acceptance are the first in line to fight against those who don't practice all year long, and the speaker reminds listeners to give money to Islamists and to give money to the poor people before 2021. The importance of fasting and praying to improve behavior is also emphasized.

Except Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala and I bear
witness that Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is the
seal of the prophets and the final messenger
to all humanity. Whomever Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
guides, there is none to misguide
So the moon has not been sighted today
in Muslim countries, and therefore, tomorrow, inshaAllah,
is the 30th
of the month of Ramadan. It's the last
day of Ramadan tomorrow, inshaAllah.
And Aayd will be on Sunday, inshaAllah. And
the prayers will be at the Islamic Academy
9 AM. I will encourage you to go
there,
before inshaAllah to find your
spot.
So as we receive, the aid would like
to thank the community
for their generosity with us in the month
of Ramadan, providing food, ishtaras, and,
contributing toward the fundraiser. So may Allah
reward you for your generosity and accept from
you. The second observation is, I've seen a
lot of youth coming to the prayers
tarawih and tuhajjud,
alhamdulillah, and this is a good thing. They're
awakening in the community.
And we'd like this to, to be kept
inshallah after the month of Ramadan. We have
programs for the youth.
Inshallah, we're gonna start the family night,
the 1st Saturday or Sunday of the month,
we'll announce inshallah. And we'll also have the
home dawah, who visit the youth in their
homes, they get together. So I go with
a group of of brothers, from the community.
We give them a talk and we answer
their questions.
So today, InshaAllah, we'll talk about
Ramadan is over, now what?
Okay. So Imam al Hassan al Basri alhamdulillah
said that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala made Ramadan
like a race
for his servants.
So some of them, they did their best
in the month of Ramadan, so they are
the successful ones.
And some people,
they were lazy,
they didn't do enough or they didn't do
anything at all, so these are delusions.
Which one of us is accepted and forgiven
in this month. So we'll go and congratulate
them.
And we don't know who is rejected and
not forgiven, so we go to them and
offer our condolences.
So you don't know.
Ramadan
and fasting means different things to different people.
Yeah. For some people, the word fast, the
f stands for the
a stands for ambition,
the s stands for spirituality,
the t stands for taqo.
For some other people, it means a different
thing. So, the f stands for food,
the a stands for anger,
the s stands for sleep, and the t
stands for TV.
So as far as Ramadan is concerned,
people are classified into 3 groups. The first
one, those who worship Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
all year long, they are practicing Alhamdulillah. They
come to the Masjid and they pray, they
stand and guide the prayer. And
sadaqa and more zakat. They
know that Iqalah
acts of worship are not a monopoly of
the month of Ramadan.
All year long, they worship how Ramadan comes,
they do more.
They live between hope and fear.
Hope that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala will accept
from them
and forgive them.
And the fear that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
will reject them and that their actions are
not accepted and they are not
forgiven.
So when this verse was revealed, those who
do their good deeds
and they are afraid and their hearts are
shaking with fear.
So Aisha radiAllahu anha has reported this Sayyantir
Bedi, he came to the prophet sallallahu alaihi
wa sallam and said, oh prophet of Allah,
does this verse talk about those who drink
and those who steal and those who lie
and cheat? So the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa
sallam said, no, it's not talking about these
people.
It is talking about the people who fast
and pray and give sadaqah and salatah, but
they are afraid that Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala
will not accept from them, and they are
the successful ones.
So the reason the scholars say because if
you think you are not doing enough
and you're afraid that Allah will not accept
from you, then this will motivate you to
do more and to improve.
But once you reach a level
where you think you are doing your best
and you are better than everyone else, you
are the king,
okay? Then you'll start to go down. The
Ibadah will go down, the intentions will go
down, and the riyam will go up.
So the second type of people are those
who don't practice all year long. No prayers,
no fasting, no charity, no recitation on the
Quran.
But when Ramadan comes,
mashallah, they are the 1st in the line.
They are fighting with people to pray right
behind the imamsel because they love him so
much.
And they cry in the prayers, Alhamdulillah,
The jalabeer, and the sibha and the kufi,
and the prayer mark, and everything, Alhamdulillah.
But once they see the new moon of
Shawwal,
they don't know the Nasheed no more, Khalas.
Next year inshallah, when the new moon comes.
So these are the people that you have
to call 911 to kick them out of
the mosque at night to close the door,
and they are the same people you call
the police to bring them back to the
masjid after Ramadan.
Their behavior is different.
The God of Ramadan for them is different
from the God after Ramadan.
So we tell him, those who worship Ramadan,
Ramadan is about over. It's dead.
But whoever worships Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala lies
in return. He is the Lord of Ramadan
and he is
The third line for people are those
who are not practicing before Ramadan. When Ramadan
comes, they don't care and after Ramadan, it's
the same thing for them. So Ramadan for
them is just like June or September, any
of these months. It's one of those months,
so they don't care. And for them, we
say,
they cry for your sins,
And who knows, maybe this is your last
Ramadan.
And I remember some of the brothers were
here last year sitting in front of me
in Ramadan. And this year, they are not
with us. They are not with us. Not
because they were deported to Egypt, but because
they passed away.
They're not among us anymore. Maybe next year,
who knows? Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala knows.
Some of us who are here today, they
will not be here next Ramadan,
2013.
So make sure inshallah that you do your
best and may Allah
accept from all of us and give us
jannah and the Shabaab of the prophet and
accept our fasting and prayers and charity in
the month of Allah.
So a reminder that Zakat al food is
given at this part of Ramadan. You can
give it money if you want according to
Imam Al Hanifa. The rest of the scholars
say you can give it food.
And the mirdal the nisab is, which is
4 handfuls.
You take 4 handfuls of your hand and
like any type of food and you give
it to the poor.
The prophet to give the poor
people before so they don't have to beg
people for food on the day of Eid.
It's a day of Jot, another day of
begging.
And to purify any fasting of any defects
or shortcomings in the month.
So the scholars, they
they look at
and the Surjudice Salaam, the 2 sessions you
make after salaw, you make a mistake in
the salaw. So if you look at it
this way,
They don't have to be in one shot.
You can't break them up during the month
like you fast Mondays and Thursdays.
And the prophet says whoever fast according to
Sayyid Abu Dawood, Sayyid
Muslim, then whoever fasts in the month of
Ramadan and follows it with 6 days from
the month of Shawwal. Then this person will
give the reward of fasting in the whole
year. Because in Islam, if you do a
good deed, we'll get the rewards
30 days in the Ramadan by 10
360 days in Shawwal by
10, that is 60, 360,
that's a whole year.
So the prophet used to encourage the sahaba
to go out for salah to be even
the ladies who don't pray because they have
a monthly thing or they just gave birth
to a baby if they can. And the
young ladies, they can't go on silent and
listen to the footba of aid. They don't
have to pray. Okay?
So it is a sunnah, you go inshaAllah
at night with the Islamic Academy,
we pray and we listen to the Khutba
for 5 minutes and you don't have to
leave just 5 minutes inshaAllah.
And finally, salaatulaykul,
the day of Bayt is a day of
joy.
Some people they just go wild because they
think they were in a cage in the
month of Ramadan. Now the cage is open,
so they go wild. They go crazy. Enjoy
your life. In Islam, we enjoy our lives.
We do everything halal you want. Alhamdulillah, we
enjoy our lives to the fullest, but we
don't go overboard
and we do everything
